The simplest way to install setuptools when it isn't already there and you can't use a package manager is to download ez_setup.py and run it with the appropriate Python interpreter. This works even if you have multiple versions of Python around: just run ez_setup.py once with each Python.

Edit: note that recent versions of Python 3 include setuptools in the distribution so you no longer need to install separately. The script mentioned here is only relevant for old versions of Python.

The "Spring Boot" way is to use a CommandLineRunner. Just add beans of that type and you are good to go. In Spring 4.1 (Boot 1.2) there is also a SmartInitializingBean which gets a callback after everything has initialized. And there is SmartLifecycle (from Spring 3).

ReSTful APIs are consumed primarily by other systems, which is why I put paging data in the response headers. However, some API consumers may not have direct access to the response headers, or may be building a UX over your API, so providing a way to retrieve (on demand) the metadata in the JSON response is a plus.

I believe your implementation should include machine-readable metadata as a default, and human-readable metadata when requested. The human-readable metadata could be returned with every request if you like or, preferably, on-demand via a query parameter, such as include=metadata or include_metadata=true.

In your particular scenario, I would include the URI for each product with the record. This makes it easy for the API consumer to create links to the individual products. I would also set some reasonable expectations as per the limits of my paging requests. Implementing and documenting default settings for page size is an acceptable practice. For example, GitHub's API sets the default page size to 30 records with a maximum of 100, plus sets a rate limit on the number of times you can query the API. If your API has a default page size, then the query string can just specify the page index.

In the human-readable scenario, when navigating to /products?page=5&per_page=20&include=metadata, the response could be:

The other paging data revealed in the human-centric metadata might be superfluous for machine-centric metadata, as the link headers let me know which page I am on and the number per page, and I can quickly retrieve the number of records in the array. Therefore, I would probably only create a header for the total count. You can always change your mind later and add more metadata.

As an aside, you may notice I removed /index from your URI. A generally accepted convention is to have your ReST endpoint expose collections. Having /index at the end muddies that up slightly.

These are just a few things I like to have when consuming/creating an API. Hope that helps!

In PHP there is a global variable containing various details related to the server. It's called $_SERVER. It contains also the root:

SOAP is a message format used by disconnected systems (like across the internet) to exchange information / data. It does with XML messages going back and forth.

Web services transmit or receive SOAP messages. They work differently depending on what language they are written in.

How about making the <div id="mainWrapperDivWithBGImage"> as three divs, where the two outside divs hold the rounded corners images, and the middle div simply has a background-color to match the rounded corner images. Then you could simply place the other elements inside the middle div, or:

Try to not typing git rebase -i HEAD~3 when exiting the editor, and it should work fine.
(otherwise, in your particular situation, a git rebase -i --abort might be needed to reset everything and allow you to try again)

As Dave Vogt mentions in the comments, git rebase --continue is for going to the next task in the rebasing process, after you've amended the first commit.

Also, Gregg Lind mentions in his answer the reword command of git rebase:

By replacing the command "pick" with the command "edit", you can tell git rebase to stop after applying that commit, so that you can edit the files and/or the commit message, amend the commit, and continue rebasing.

If you just want to edit the commit message for a commit, replace the command "pick" with the command "reword", since Git1.6.6 (January 2010).

It does the same thing ‘edit’ does during an interactive rebase, except it only lets you edit the commit message without returning control to the shell. This is extremely useful.
Currently if you want to clean up your commit messages you have to:

If you're using TortoiseGit it's important to note that Git's automatic rename detection happens during commit but the fact that this is going to happen isn't always displayed by the software beforehand. I had moved two files to a different directory and performed some slight edits. I use TortoiseGit as my commit tool and the Changes made list showed the files being deleted and added, not moved. Running git status from the command line showed a similar situation. However after committing the files, they showed up as being renamed in the log. So the answer to your question is, as long as you haven't done anything too drastic, Git should pick up the rename automatically.

Edit: Apparently if you add the new files and then do a git status from the command line, the rename should show up before committing.

Edit 2: In addition, in TortoiseGit, add the new files in the commit dialog but don't commit them. Then if you go into the Show Log command and look at the working directory, you'll see if Git has detected the rename before committing.

The same question was raised here: https://tortoisegit.org/issue/1389 and has been logged as a bug to fix here: https://tortoisegit.org/issue/1440 It turns out it's a display issue with TortoiseGit's commit dialog and also kind of exists in git status if you haven't added the new files.

So my question is this - if throwing from a destructor results in undefined behavior, how do you handle errors that occur during a destructor?

The main problem is this: you can't fail to fail. What does it mean to fail to fail, after all? If committing a transaction to a database fails, and it fails to fail (fails to rollback), what happens to the integrity of our data?

Since destructors are invoked for both normal and exceptional (fail) paths, they themselves cannot fail or else we're "failing to fail".

This is a conceptually difficult problem but often the solution is to just find a way to make sure that failing cannot fail. For example, a database might write changes prior to committing to an external data structure or file. If the transaction fails, then the file/data structure can be tossed away. All it has to then ensure is that committing the changes from that external structure/file an atomic transaction that can't fail.

The pragmatic solution is perhaps just make sure that the chances of failing on failure are astronomically improbable, since making things impossible to fail to fail can be almost impossible in some cases.

The most proper solution to me is to write your non-cleanup logic in a way such that the cleanup logic can't fail. For example, if you're tempted to create a new data structure in order to clean up an existing data structure, then perhaps you might seek to create that auxiliary structure in advance so that we no longer have to create it inside a destructor.

This is all much easier said than done, admittedly, but it's the only really proper way I see to go about it. Sometimes I think there should be an ability to write separate destructor logic for normal execution paths away from exceptional ones, since sometimes destructors feel a little bit like they have double the responsibilities by trying to handle both (an example is scope guards which require explicit dismissal; they wouldn't require this if they could differentiate exceptional destruction paths from non-exceptional ones).

Still the ultimate problem is that we can't fail to fail, and it's a hard conceptual design problem to solve perfectly in all cases. It does get easier if you don't get too wrapped up in complex control structures with tons of teeny objects interacting with each other, and instead model your designs in a slightly bulkier fashion (example: particle system with a destructor to destroy the entire particle system, not a separate non-trivial destructor per particle). When you model your designs at this kind of coarser level, you have less non-trivial destructors to deal with, and can also often afford whatever memory/processing overhead is required to make sure your destructors cannot fail.

And that's one of the easiest solutions naturally is to use destructors less often. In the particle example above, perhaps upon destroying/removing a particle, some things should be done that could fail for whatever reason. In that case, instead of invoking such logic through the particle's dtor which could be executed in an exceptional path, you could instead have it all done by the particle system when it removes a particle. Removing a particle might always be done during a non-exceptional path. If the system is destroyed, maybe it can just purge all particles and not bother with that individual particle removal logic which can fail, while the logic that can fail is only executed during the particle system's normal execution when it's removing one or more particles.

There are often solutions like that which crop up if you avoid dealing with lots of teeny objects with non-trivial destructors. Where you can get tangled up in a mess where it seems almost impossible to be exception-safety is when you do get tangled up in lots of teeny objects that all have non-trivial dtors.

It would help a lot if nothrow/noexcept actually translated into a compiler error if anything which specifies it (including virtual functions which should inherit the noexcept specification of its base class) attempted to invoke anything that could throw. This way we'd be able to catch all this stuff at compile-time if we actually write a destructor inadvertently which could throw.

I just ran over this one and I found by accident that CLOBs can be used in a like query:

You can't lock a website or a web application in a specific orientation. It goes against the natural behaviour of the device.

You can detect the device orientation with CSS3 media queries like this:

Method to add AUTO_INCREMENT to a table with data while avoiding “Duplicate entry” error:

1. Make a copy of the table with the data using INSERT SELECT:

2. Delete data from originalTable (to remove duplicate entries):

I want to point out that it has been my experience that if throwing an HttpResponseException instead of returning an HttpResponseMessage in a webapi 2 method, that if a call is made immediately to IIS Express it will timeout or return a 200 but with a html error in the response. Easiest way to test this is to make $.ajax call to a method that throws a HttpResponseException and in the errorCallBack in ajax make an immediate call to another method or even a simple http page. You will notice the imediate call will fail. If you add a break point or a settimeout() in the error call back to delay the second call a second or two giving the server time to recover it works correctly. This makes no since but its almost like the throw HttpResponseException causes the server side listener thread to exit and restart causing a split second of no server accepting connections or something.

Update: The root cause of the wierd Ajax connection Timeout is if an ajax call is made quick enough the same tcp connection is used. I was raising a 401 error ether by returning a HttpResonseMessage or throwing a HTTPResponseException which was returned to the browser ajax call. But along with that call MS was returning a Object Not Found Error because in Startup.Auth.vb app.UserCookieAuthentication was enabled so it was trying to return intercept the response and add a redirect but it errored with Object not Instance of an Object. This Error was html but was appended to the response after the fact so only if the ajax call was made quick enough and the same tcp connection used did it get returned to the browser and then it got appended to the front of the next call. For some reason Chrome just timedout, fiddler pucked becasue of the mix of json and htm but firefox rturned the real error. So wierd but packet sniffer or firefox was the only way to track this one down.

Also it should be noted that if you are using Web API help to generate automatic help and you return HttpResponseMessage then you should add a

[System.Web.Http.Description.ResponseType(typeof(CustomReturnedType))] 

attribute to the method so the help generates correctly. Then

Hope this helps someone else who may be getting random timeout or server not available immediately after throwing a HttpResponseException.

Also returning an HttpResponseException has the added benefit of not causing Visual Studio to break on an Un-handled exception usefull when the error being returned is the AuthToken needs to be refreshed in a single page app.

Update: I am retracting my statement about IIS Express timing out, this happened to be a mistake in my client side ajax call back it turns out since Ajax 1.8 returning $.ajax() and returning $.ajax.().then() both return promise but not the same chained promise then() returns a new promise which caused the order of execution to be wrong. So when the then() promise completed it was a script timeout. Weird gotcha but not an IIS express issue a problem between the Keyboard and chair.

Is caching a dynamically generated function/dictionary permissable?

Because you don't (appear to) know the type of the enum ahead of time, the first execution could generate something subsequent executions could take advantage of.

You could even cache the result of Enum.GetNames()

Are you trying to optimize for CPU or Memory? Do you really need to?

If query form is what you want to use, this is legible and more or less as "performant" as this could be.

What i mean is that what you are trying to do is an O(N*M) algorithm, that is, you have to traverse N items and compare them against M values. What you want is to traverse the first list only once, and compare against the other list just as many times as needed (worst case is when the email is valid since it has to compare against every black listed domain).

from t2 in test we loop the email list once.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation about how to use this event going around (even in upvoted answers on this page).

The onbeforeunload event API is supplied by the browser for a specific purpose: The only thing you can do that's worth doing in this method is to return a string which the browser will then prompt to the user to indicate to them that action should be taken before they navigate away from the page. You CANNOT prevent them from navigating away from a page (imagine what a nightmare that would be for the end user).

Because browsers use a confirm prompt to show the user the string you returned from your event listener, you can't do anything else in the method either (like perform an ajax request).

In an application I wrote, I want to prompt the user to let them know they have unsaved changes before they leave the page. The browser prompts them with the message and, after that, it's out of my hands, the user can choose to stay or leave, but you no longer have control of the application at that point.

An example of how I use it (pseudo code):

onbeforeunload = function() {

  if(Application.hasUnsavedChanges()) {
    return 'You have unsaved changes. Please save them before leaving this page';
  }

If (and only if) the application has unsaved changes, then the browser prompts the user to either ignore my message (and leave the page anyway) or to not leave the page. If they choose to leave the page anyway, too bad, there's nothing you can do (nor should be able to do) about it.

My application was hanging on startup when I used Peter Stulinski & Dave Gordon's code samples with EF 6.0. I changed:

Which makes sense when in the seed method you don't want instantiate another instance of the ApplicationDBContext. This might have been compounded by the fact that I had Database.SetInitializer<ApplicationDbContext>(new ApplicationDbInitializer()); in the constructor of ApplicationDbContext

If you are writing xml, just use the classes provided by the framework to create the xml. You won't have to bother with escaping or anything.

Console.Write(new XElement("Data", "< > &"));

Will output

If you need to read an XML file that is malformed, do not use regular expression. Instead, use the Html Agility Pack.

In VS built-in unit testing if you simply want to verify that "any exception" is thrown, but you don't know the type, you can use a catch all:

Rahul's answer is best fit for your question. Anyway, if you have a group of checkboxes to be checked and not all the checkbox in your form, you can go for it.

Put a classname for all the checkboxes you want to check, say for example, a classname test_check and now you can check if any of the checkbox is checked belonging to the group by:

If it returns true, assume that one or more checkboxes are checked having the classname test_check and none checked if returns false.

If I understand the question correctly, it has to do with output buffering and the affect this might have on closing/ending tags. I am not sure that is an entirely valid question. The problem is that the output buffer does not mean all content is held in memory before sending it out to the client. It means some of the content is.

The programmer can purposely flush the buffer, or the output buffer so does the output buffer option in PHP really change how the closing tag affects coding? I would argue that it does not.

And maybe that is why most of the answers went back to personal style and syntax.

This could be solved without VBA by the following technique.

In this example I am counting all the threes (3) in the range A:A of the sheets Page M904, Page M905 and Page M906.

List all the sheet names in a single continuous range like in the following example. Here listed in the range D3:D5.

Then by having the lookup value in cell B2, the result can be found in cell B4 by using the following formula:

=SUMPRODUCT(COUNTIF(INDIRECT("'"&D3:D5&"'!A:A"), B2))

Check the lib of your project. It may be that you have include two such jar files in which same class is available or say one class in code can be refrenced in two jar files. In such case also eclipse stops assisting code as it is totally confused.

Better way to check this is go to the file where assist is not working and comment all imports there, than add imports one by one and check at each import if code-assist is working or not.You can easily find the class with duplicate refrences.

In my case, it was because the permissions on the root web directory were not set correctly. To do this, you need to be in the parent folder when you run this in terminal:

sudo chmod -R 755 htmlfoldername

This will chmod all files in your html folder, which is not recommended for production for security reasons, but should let you see the files in that folder, to be sure that isn't the issue while troubleshooting.

If you need performance (like in games):

Math.round(number * 100) / 100

It's about 100 times as fast as parseFloat(number.toFixed(2))

You can use a list comprehension to create a new list containing only the elements you don't want to remove:

somelist = [x for x in somelist if not determine(x)]

Or, by assigning to the slice somelist[:], you can mutate the existing list to contain only the items you want:

somelist[:] = [x for x in somelist if not determine(x)]

This approach could be useful if there are other references to somelist that need to reflect the changes.

Instead of a comprehension, you could also use itertools. In Python 2:

somelist[:] = ifilterfalse(determine, somelist)

Or in Python 3:

For the sake of clarity and for those who find the use of the [:] notation hackish or fuzzy, here's a more explicit alternative. Theoretically, it should perform the same with regards to space and time than the one-liners above.

It also works in other languages that may not have the replace items ability of Python lists, with minimal modifications. For instance, not all languages cast empty lists to a False as Python does. You can substitute while somelist: for something more explicit like while len(somelist) > 0:.

Use the native function htmlspecialchars. It will escape from all special character. If you want to escape from a quote specifically, use with ENT_COMPAT or ENT_QUOTES. Here is the example:

The page that gave me the hint Set up SSH for Git said that the single space indentation is important... though I had a configuration in here from Heroku that did not have that space and works properly.

If the leading asterisk is a problem, I pipe the git branch as follows

This also eliminates the '(no branch)' line that shows up when you have detached head.

If JVM loads a type, a class object representing that type will be present in JVM. we can get the metadata regarding the type from that class object which is used very much in reflection package. MyClass.class is a shorthand method which actually points to the Class object representing MyClass.

As an addendum, some information about Class<?> reference which will be useful to read along with this as most of the time, they are used together.

Class<?> reference type can hold any Class object which represents any type.

This works in a similar fashion if the Class<?> reference is in method argument as well.

Please note that the class "Class" does not have a public constructor. So you cannot instantiate "Class" instances with "new" operator.

You can run a script, or a more complex parameter to the RUN. Here is an example from a Dockerfile I've downloaded to look at previously:

Because of the use of '&&', it will only get to the final 'pip install' command if all the previous commands have succeeded.

In fact, since every RUN creates a new commit & (currently) an AUFS layer, if you have too many commands in the Dockerfile, you will use up the limits, so merging the RUNs (when the file is stable) can be a very useful thing to do.

This script is ok except for this case that of course, I've met :

The following generic solution can be used with regular login, a Spring Social login, or most other Spring Security filters.

In your Spring MVC controller, when loading the product page, save the path to the product page in the session if user has not been logged in. In XML config, set the default target url. For example:

In your Spring MVC controller, the redirect method should read out the path from the session and return redirect:<my_saved_product_path>.

So, after user logs in, they'll be sent to /redirect page, which will promptly redirect them back to the product page that they last visited.

A very late contribution demonstrating another problem with interfaced constructors. (I choose this question because it has the clearest articulation of the problem). Suppose we could have:

You can quickly control this by typing built-in magic commands in Spyder's IPython console, which I find faster than picking these from the preferences menu. Changes take immediate effect, without needing to restart Spyder or the kernel.

If you are using a version of enthought python (EPD) you might want to go directly to your site-packages and reinstall numpy. Then try to install pandas with pip. You will have to modify your installation prefix for that.

Before the date data type was added in SQL Server 2008, I would use the above method to truncate the time portion from a datetime to get only the date. The idea is to determine the number of days between the datetime in question and a fixed point in time (0, which implicitly casts to 1900-01-01 00:00:00.000):

If a GPU device has, for example, 4 multiprocessing units, and they can run 768 threads each: then at a given moment no more than 4*768 threads will be really running in parallel (if you planned more threads, they will be waiting their turn).

Software

threads are organized in blocks. A block is executed by a multiprocessing unit. The threads of a block can be indentified (indexed) using 1Dimension(x), 2Dimensions (x,y) or 3Dim indexes (x,y,z) but in any case xyz <= 768 for our example (other restrictions apply to x,y,z, see the guide and your device capability).

Obviously, if you need more than those 4*768 threads you need more than 4 blocks. Blocks may be also indexed 1D, 2D or 3D. There is a queue of blocks waiting to enter the GPU (because, in our example, the GPU has 4 multiprocessors and only 4 blocks are being executed simultaneously).

Now a simple case: processing a 512x512 image

Suppose we want one thread to process one pixel (i,j).

We can use blocks of 64 threads each. Then we need 512*512/64 = 4096 blocks (so to have 512x512 threads = 4096*64)

In many cases an element must be positioned for z-index to work.

Indeed, applying position: relative to the elements in the question would likely solve the problem (but there's not enough code provided to know for sure).

Actually, position: fixed, position: absolute and position: sticky will also enable z-index, but those values also change the layout. With position: relative the layout isn't disturbed.

Essentially, as long as the element isn't position: static (the default setting) it is considered positioned and z-index will work.

Many answers to "Why isn't z-index working?" questions assert that z-index only works on positioned elements. As of CSS3, this is no longer true.

OP's practice seems irregular. A shared/common file normally lives under partials, a standard boilerplate directory. You should then add partials directory to your config import paths in order to resolve partials anywhere in your code.

When I encountered this issue for the first time, I figured SASS probably gives you a global variable similar to Node's __dirname, which keeps an absolute path to current working directory (cwd). Unfortunately, it does not and the reason why is because interpolation on an @import directive isn't possible, hence you cannot do a dynamic import path.

You need to set :load_paths in your Sass config. Since OP uses Compass, I'll follow that with accordance to documentation here.

You can go with the CLI solution as purposed, but why? it's much more convenient to add it to config.rb. It'd make sense to use CLI for overriding config.rb (E.g., different build scenarios).

So, assuming your config.rb is under project root, simply add the following line: add_import_path 'sub_directory_a'

And now @import 'common'; will work just fine anywhere.

While this answers OP, there's more.

Appendix

You are likely to run into cases where you want to import a CSS file in an embedded manner, that is, not via the vanilla @import directive CSS provides out of the box, but an actual merge of a CSS file content with your SASS. There's another question, which is answered inconclusively (the solution does not work cross-environment). The solution then, is to use this SASS extension.

Once installed, add the following line to your config: require 'sass-css-importer' and then, somewhere in your code: @import 'CSS:myCssFile';

Notice the extension must be omitted for this to work.

However, we will run into the same issue when trying to import a CSS file from a non-default path and add_import_path does not respect CSS files. So to solve that, you need to add, yet another line in your config, which is naturally similar:

Now everything will work nicely.

P.S., I noticed sass-css-importer documentation indicates a CSS: prefix is required in addition to omitting the .css extension. I found out it works regardless. Someone started an issue, which remained unanswered thus far.

By default, CORS does not include cookies on cross-origin requests. This is different from other cross-origin techniques such as JSON-P. JSON-P always includes cookies with the request, and this behavior can lead to a class of vulnerabilities called cross-site request forgery, or CSRF.

In order to reduce the chance of CSRF vulnerabilities in CORS, CORS requires both the server and the client to acknowledge that it is ok to include cookies on requests. Doing this makes cookies an active decision, rather than something that happens passively without any control.

The client code must set the withCredentials property on the XMLHttpRequest to true in order to give permission.

However, this header alone is not enough. The server must respond with the Access-Control-Allow-Credentials header. Responding with this header to true means that the server allows cookies (or other user credentials) to be included on cross-origin requests.

You also need to make sure your browser isn't blocking third-party cookies if you want cross-origin credentialed requests to work.

Note that regardless of whether you are making same-origin or cross-origin requests, you need to protect your site from CSRF (especially if your request includes cookies).

INT n/INTO/INT 3—Call to Interrupt Procedure

The INT n instruction generates a call to the interrupt or exception handler specified with the destination operand. Most Unix systems and derivatives do not use software interrupts, with the exception of interrupt 0x80, used to make system calls. This is accomplished by entering a 32-bit value corresponding to a kernel function into the EAX register of the processor and then executing INT 0x80.

So by moving the value 0x1 to EAX register and calling the INT 0x80 in your program, you can make the process go execute the code in Kernel which will stop (exit) the current running process (on Linux, x86 Intel CPU).

Use the css property overflow . For example:

The overflow property can have one of many values like ( hidden , scroll , visible ) .. you can als control the overflow in one direction only using overflow-x or overflow-y.

For me the problem was using sudo:

sudo git clone [email protected]:userName/repo.git was resulting in the error mentioned above.

So to fix this I chown the folder I was trying to clone into

sudo chown -R $USER:$USER /var/www/iqge.org/html

then using this git clone [email protected]:userName/repo.git was successfully done

Integer is Primitive data types http://cs.fit.edu/~ryan/java/language/java-data.html, so you need to take it out, make some process, then put it back. if you have a value which is not Primitive data types, you only need to take it out, process it, no need to put it back into the hashmap.

OK, first - you need an image that will fit within your navbar. You can adjust your image via css height attribute (allowing width to scale) or you can just use an appropriately sized image. Whatever you decide to do - the way this looks will depend on how well you size your image.

For some reason, everyone wants to stick the image inside of an anchor with navbar-brand, and this isn't necessary. navbar-brand applies text styles that aren't necessary to an image, as well as the navbar-left class (just like pull-left, but for use in a navbar). All you really need is to add navbar-left.

You can pass multiple values, and refer to them sequentially just as you would positional parameters in a shell script - the first passed parameter is &1, the second is &2, etc. You can use substitution variables anywhere in the SQL script, so they can be used as column aliases with no problem - you just have to be careful adding an extra parameter that you either add it to the end of the list (which makes the numbering out of order in the script, potentially) or adjust everything to match:

I would use BeginInvoke instead of Invoke as often as possible, unless you are really required to wait until your control has been updated (which in your example is not the case). BeginInvoke posts the delegate on the WinForms message queue and lets the calling code proceed immediately (in your case the for-loop in the SampleFunction). Invoke not only posts the delegate, but also waits until it has been completed.

The $expr operator allows the use of aggregation expressions within the query language, thus you can leverage the use of $strLenCP operator to check the length of the string as follows:

MongoDB evaluates non-$where query operations before $where expressions and non-$where query statements may use an index. A much better performance is to store the length of the string as another field and then you can index or search on it; applying $where will be much slower compared to that. mytextvalue will contain null if you have a document.write() statement before this code. So remove the document.write statement and you should get a proper text object in the variable mytextvalue.

The mouseenter JavaScript event is proprietary to Internet Explorer. Because of the event's general utility, jQuery simulates this event so that it can be used regardless of browser. This event is sent to an element when the mouse pointer enters the element. Any HTML element can receive this event.

If you use bash, then the terminal history is saved in a file called .bash_history. Delete it, and history will be gone.

However, for MySQL the better approach is not to enter the password in the command line. If you just specify the -p option, without a value, then you will be prompted for the password and it won't be logged.

Another option, if you don't want to enter your password every time, is to store it in a my.cnf file. Create a file named ~/.my.cnf with something like:

Note, x = ','.join(x) transforms the x array to string '1.1, 2.2, 3.2'. If you read a line from a txt file, each line will be already a string.

Something similar to $("#formId").reset() will not clear form items that have had their defaults set to something other than "". One way this can happen is a previous form submission: once a form has been submitted reset() would "reset" form values to those previously submitted which will likely not be "".

One option to clear all forms on the page, is to call a function such as the following, executing it simply as clearForms():

You're trying to use key functions with lambda functions.

Python and other languages like C# or F# use lambda functions.

Also, when it comes to key functions and according to the documentation

Both list.sort() and sorted() have a key parameter to specify a function to be called on each list element prior to making comparisons.

The value of the key parameter should be a function that takes a single argument and returns a key to use for sorting purposes. This technique is fast because the key function is called exactly once for each input record.

So, key functions have a parameter key and it can indeed receive a lambda function.

In Real Python there's a nice example of its usage. Let's say you have the following list

ids = ['id1', 'id100', 'id2', 'id22', 'id3', 'id30']

and want to sort through its "integers". Then, you'd do something like

sorted_ids = sorted(ids, key=lambda x: int(x[2:])) # Integer sort

and printing it would give

['id1', 'id2', 'id3', 'id22', 'id30', 'id100']

In your particular case, you're only missing to write key= before lambda. So, you'd want to use the following

a = sorted(a, key=lambda x: x.modified, reverse=True)

I find that document.getElementById('textbox-id').readOnly=true sometimes doesn't work reliably.

Instead, try:

It was hard for me to readily find specific use cases for the use of % online ,e.g. why does doing fractional modulus division or negative modulus division result in the answer that it does. Hope this helps clarify questions like this:

Modulus Division In General:

Modulus division returns the remainder of a mathematical division operation. It is does it as follows:

Say we have a dividend of 5 and divisor of 2, the following division operation would be (equated to x):

dividend = 5
divisor = 2

x = 5/2 

1. The first step in the modulus calculation is to conduct integer division:

   x_int = 5 // 2 ( integer division in python uses double slash)

   x_int = 2

2. Next, the output of x_int is multiplied by the divisor:

   x_mult = x_int * divisor x_mult = 4

3. Lastly, the dividend is subtracted from the x_mult

   dividend - x_mult = 1

4. The modulus operation ,therefore, returns 1:

   5 % 2 = 1

The calculation of the modulus when applied to a fraction is the same as above; however, it is important to note that the integer division will result in a value of zero when the divisor is larger than the dividend:

I refactored the chosen answer here and improved on it. The chosen answer only works assuming you have one form per page. I solved this for multiple forms on same page (in my case I have 2 modals on same page) and my solution only checks for values on required fields. My solution gracefully degrades if JavaScript is disabled and includes a slick CSS button fade transition.

There are many articles about writing code to import an excel file, but this is a manual/shortcut version:

If you don't need to import your Excel file programmatically using code you can do it very quickly using the menu in SQL Management Studio.

The quickest way to get your Excel file into SQL is by using the import wizard:

1. Open SSMS (Sql Server Management Studio) and connect to the database where you want to import your file into.
2. Import Data: in SSMS in Object Explorer under 'Databases' right-click the destination database, select Tasks, Import Data. An import wizard will pop up (you can usually just click 'Next' on the first screen).

3. The next window is 'Choose a Data Source', select Excel:

   • In the 'Data Source' dropdown list select Microsoft Excel (this option should appear automatically if you have excel installed).

I think if you have something that structured and complex, you might consider something other than a single drop-down box.

Although it is a bit strange, but the notifyDataSetChanged does not really work without setting new values to adapter. So, you should do:

There is no such thing.

You have to compare the value with something using = < > like .... The closest you get a boolean value in SQL Server is the bit. And that is an integer that can have the values null, 0 and 1.

The identity section goes under the system.web section, not under authentication:

There is a little known feature, which makes this even better. You can use a configurable default value instead of a hard-coded one, here is an example:

You are reinventing the wheel. Normal PowerShell scripts have parameters starting with -, like script.ps1 -server http://devserver

Then you handle them in param section in the beginning of the file.

You can also assign default values to your params, read them from console if not available or stop script execution:

Inside the script you can simply

write-output $server

since all parameters become variables available in script scope.

Update: You might also want to pass a "flag" (a boolean true/false parameter) to a PowerShell script. For instance, your script may accept a "force" where the script runs in a more careful mode when force is not used.

The keyword for that is [switch] parameter type:
