ViewGroup is itself a View that works as a container for other views. It extends the functionality of View class in order to provide efficient ways to layout the child views.

For example, LinearLayout is a ViewGroup that lets you define the orientation in which you want child views to be laid, that's all you need to do and LinearLayout will take care of the rest.

Your solution is correct, but your outer loop is still longer than needed. You don't need to compare the last element with anything else because it's been already compared with all the others in the previous iterations. Your inner loop still prevents that, but since we're talking about collision detection you can save the unnecessary check.

This question already has the answer for defining function pointers, however they can get very messy, especially if you are going to be passing them around your application. To avoid this unpleasantness I would recommend that you typedef the function pointer into something more readable. For example.

typedef void (*functiontype)();

Declares a function that returns void and takes no arguments. To create a function pointer to this type you can now do:

For a function that returns an int and takes a char you would do

This solution uses the python function filter. This function creates a list of elements for which a function returns true. In this case, the anonymous function used is partial matching '.csv' on every element of the directory files list obtained with os.listdir('the path i want to look in')

This is what i normally work by when designing the interface of a non-template function:

That is because in Python 3, they have replaced the print statement with the print function.

#box is relatively positioned, which makes it part of the "flow" of the page. Your other divs are absolutely positioned, so they are removed from the page's "flow".

Page flow means that the positioning of an element effects other elements in the flow.

In other words, as #box now sees the dom, .a and .b are no longer "inside" #box.

To fix this, you would want to make everything relative, or everything absolute.

I don't think you can do this with the standard tools. You can use ipcs -mp to get the process ID of the last process to attach/detach but I'm not aware of how to get all attached processes with ipcs.

With a two-process-attached segment, assuming they both stayed attached, you can possibly figure out from the creator PID cpid and last-attached PID lpid which are the two processes but that won't scale to more than two processes so its usefulness is limited.

The cat /proc/sysvipc/shm method seems similarly limited but I believe there's a way to do it with other parts of the /proc filesystem, as shown below:

When I do a grep on the procfs maps for all processes, I get entries containing lines for the cpid and lpid processes.

For example, I get the following shared memory segment from ipcs -m:

So there is a way to get the processes that attached to it. I'm pretty certain that the dest status and (deleted) indicator are because the creator has marked the segment for destruction once the final detach occurs, not that it's already been destroyed.

So, by scanning of the /proc/*/maps "files", you should be able to discover which PIDs are currently attached to a given segment.

If it is a auto increment field, use SELECT LAST_INSERT_ID(); to get the id you just created.

I know this thread is a bit old, but it took me some time to get to the heart of this, so I wanted to share.

In my project, I had the main script in a parent directory, and, to differentiate the modules, I put all the supporting modules in a sub-folder called "modules". In my main script, I import these modules like this (for a module called report.py):

from modules.report import report, reportError

If I call my main script, this works. HOWEVER, I wanted to test each module by including a main() in each, and calling each directly, as:

python modules/report.py

Now Python complains that it can't find "a module called modules". The key here is that, by default, Python includes the folder of the script in its search path, BUT NOT THE CWD. So what this error says, really, is "I can't find a modules subfolder". The is because there is no "modules" subdirectory from the directory where the report.py module resides.

I find that the neatest solution to this is to append the CWD in Python search path by including this at the top:

sys.path.append(".")

Now Python searches the CWD (current directory), finds the "modules" sub-folder, and all is well.

Setting the image using picture.ImageLocation() works fine, but you are using a relative path. Check your path against the location of the .exe after it is built.

For example, if your .exe is located at:

<project folder>/bin/Debug/app.exe

The image would have to be at:

<project folder>/bin/Image/1.jpg

Of course, you could just set the image at design-time (the Image property on the PictureBox property sheet).

If you must set it at run-time, one way to make sure you know the location of the image is to add the image file to your project. For example, add a new folder to your project, name it Image. Right-click the folder, choose "Add existing item" and browse to your image (be sure the file filter is set to show image files). After adding the image, in the property sheet set the Copy to Output Directory to Copy if newer.

At this point the image file will be copied when you build the application and you can use

picture.ImageLocation = @"Image\1.jpg"; 

The problem with ordering the other way is that it often does not make good use of indices. It is also not very extendable if you ever need to select a number of rows that are not at the start or the end. An alternative way is as follows.

This is the best solution I can think of that will work with pure JavaScript. You will also be able to style the element as it can be targeted in CSS. Just add in place of the year and it will automatically be updated.

But i found using in ref callback gave me simpler and clean solution, if you use inline function for ref callback you will face the null problem for every component update. One thing that might not always be obvious to some is that a cross join with an empty table (or result set) results in empty table (M x N; hence M x 0 = 0)

A full outer join will always have rows unless both M and N are 0.

There are several issues here.

1. You can't assign DataContext as DataContext="{Binding Employee}" because it's a complex object which can't be assigned as string. So you have to use <Window.DataContext></Window.DataContext> syntax.
2. You assign the class that represents the data context object to the view, not an individual property so {Binding Employee} is invalid here, you just have to specify an object.
3. Now when you assign data context using valid syntax like below

know that you are creating a new instance of the Employee class and assigning it as the data context object. You may well have nothing in default constructor so nothing will show up. But then how do you manage it in code behind file? You have typecast the DataContext.

4. A second way is to assign the data context in the code behind file itself. The advantage then is your code behind file already knows it and can work with it.

A better approach would be to delegate the event, which means catching it as it bubbles to the parent node.

delegation - overview

This solution is both more robust and efficient.

It allows the event to be handled even if more rows are dynamically added to the table later, and also results in attaching a single event handler to the parent node (table element), instead of one for each child node (tr element).

Assuming that the OP's example is a simplified one, the table's structure can be more complex, for example:

If you are using CoreData, and you use XCode to generate NSManagedObject subclasses for your entities, make sure you only generate one for each entity.

My problem was that it generated multiple NSManagedObject subclasses for the same entity (and put them in different folders).

I just deleted all of them and regenerated the NSManagedObject subclasses.

I realize this is an old post but I find myself coming back to this thread a lot as it is one of the top search results when searching for this topic. However, I always leave more confused then when I came due to the conflicting information. Ultimately I always have to perform my own tests to figure it out. So this time I will post my findings.

TL;DR Most people will want to use Exit to terminate a running scripts. However, if your script is merely declaring functions to later be used in a shell, then you will want to use Return in the definitions of said functions.

Exit vs Return vs Break

• Exit: This will "exit" the currently running context. If you call this command from a script it will exit the script. If you call this command from the shell it will exit the shell.

  If a function calls the Exit command it will exit what ever context it is running in. So if that function is only called from within a running script it will exit that script. However, if your script merely declares the function so that it can be used from the current shell and you run that function from the shell, it will exit the shell because the shell is the context in which the function contianing the Exit command is running.

  Note: By default if you right click on a script to run it in PowerShell, once the script is done running, PowerShell will close automatically. This has nothing to do with the Exit command or anything else in your script. It is just a default PowerShell behavior for scripts being ran using this specific method of running a script. The same is true for batch files and the Command Line window.

• Return: This will return to the previous call point. If you call this command from a script (outside any functions) it will return to the shell. If you call this command from the shell it will return to the shell (which is the previous call point for a single command ran from the shell). If you call this command from a function it will return to where ever the function was called from.

  Execution of any commands after the call point that it is returned to will continue from that point. If a script is called from the shell and it contains the Return command outside any functions then when it returns to the shell there are no more commands to run thus making a Return used in this way essentially the same as Exit.

• Break: This will break out of loops and switch cases. If you call this command while not in a loop or switch case it will break out of the script. If you call Break inside a loop that is nested inside a loop it will only break out of the loop it was called in.

  There is also an interesting feature of Break where you can prefix a loop with a label and then you can break out of that labeled loop even if the Break command is called within several nested groups within that labeled loop.

I recommend, you change your loop algorithm:

• Add the comma not AFTER the item, but BEFORE
• Use a boolean variable, that starts with false, do suppress the first comma
• Set this boolean variable to true after testing it

I know this is a really old post, but I found it in searching for a solution to the same problem. I don't want a nested if-statement, and Switch is apparently newer than the version of Excel I'm using. I figured out what was going wrong with my code, so I figured I'd share here in case it helps someone else.

I remembered that VLOOKUP requires the source table to be sorted alphabetically/numerically for it to work. I was initially trying to do this...

Edit: As a final note, I see that the example in the original post has letters in alphabetical order, but I imagine the real use case might have been different if the error was happening and the letters A, B, and C were just examples.

As a side note, your code has more loops and counter variables than necessary. You wouldn't need to loop through the columns, just through the rows. You'd then check the various cells of interest in that row, much like you did.

TL;DR

Error #1064 means that MySQL can't understand your command. To fix it:

• Read the error message. It tells you exactly where in your command MySQL got confused.

• Examine your command. If you use a programming language to create your command, use echo, console.log(), or its equivalent to show the entire command so you can see it.

• Check the manual. By comparing against what MySQL expected at that point, the problem is often obvious.

• Check for reserved words. If the error occurred on an object identifier, check that it isn't a reserved word (and, if it is, ensure that it's properly quoted).

1. Aaaagh!! What does #1064 mean?

   Error messages may look like gobbledygook, but they're (often) incredibly informative and provide sufficient detail to pinpoint what went wrong. By understanding exactly what MySQL is telling you, you can arm yourself to fix any problem of this sort in the future.

   As in many programs, MySQL errors are coded according to the type of problem that occurred. Error #1064 is a syntax error.

   • What is this "syntax" of which you speak? Is it witchcraft?

     Whilst "syntax" is a word that many programmers only encounter in the context of computers, it is in fact borrowed from wider linguistics. It refers to sentence structure: i.e. the rules of grammar; or, in other words, the rules that define what constitutes a valid sentence within the language.

     For example, the following English sentence contains a syntax error (because the indefinite article "a" must always precede a noun):

     This sentence contains syntax error a.

   • What does that have to do with MySQL?

     Whenever one issues a command to a computer, one of the very first things that it must do is "parse" that command in order to make sense of it. A "syntax error" means that the parser is unable to understand what is being asked because it does not constitute a valid command within the language: in other words, the command violates the grammar of the programming language.

     It's important to note that the computer must understand the command before it can do anything with it. Because there is a syntax error, MySQL has no idea what one is after and therefore gives up before it even looks at the database and therefore the schema or table contents are not relevant.

2. How do I fix it?

   Obviously, one needs to determine how it is that the command violates MySQL's grammar. This may sound pretty impenetrable, but MySQL is trying really hard to help us here. All we need to do is…

   • Read the message!

     MySQL not only tells us exactly where the parser encountered the syntax error, but also makes a suggestion for fixing it. For example, consider the following SQL command:

     UPDATE my_table WHERE id=101 SET name='foo'
     

     That command yields the following error message:

     ERROR 1064 (42000): You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHERE id=101 SET name='foo'' at line 1

     MySQL is telling us that everything seemed fine up to the word WHERE, but then a problem was encountered. In other words, it wasn't expecting to encounter WHERE at that point.

     Messages that say ...near '' at line... simply mean that the end of command was encountered unexpectedly: that is, something else should appear before the command ends.

   • Examine the actual text of your command!

     Programmers often create SQL commands using a programming language. For example a php program might have a (wrong) line like this:

     $result = $mysqli->query("UPDATE " . $tablename ."SET name='foo' WHERE id=101");
     

     If you write this this in two lines

     $query = "UPDATE " . $tablename ."SET name='foo' WHERE id=101"

     Often you'll see your error immediately and be able to fix it.

   • Obey orders!

     MySQL is also recommending that we "check the manual that corresponds to our MySQL version for the right syntax to use". Let's do that.

     I'm using MySQL v5.6, so I'll turn to that version's manual entry for an UPDATE command. The very first thing on the page is the command's grammar (this is true for every command):

     UPDATE [LOW_PRIORITY] [IGNORE] table_reference
         SET col_name1={expr1|DEFAULT} [, col_name2={expr2|DEFAULT}] ...
         [WHERE where_condition]
         [ORDER BY ...]
         [LIMIT row_count]
     

     The manual explains how to interpret this syntax under Typographical and Syntax Conventions, but for our purposes it's enough to recognise that: clauses contained within square brackets [ and ] are optional; vertical bars | indicate alternatives; and ellipses ... denote either an omission for brevity, or that the preceding clause may be repeated.

     We already know that the parser believed everything in our command was okay prior to the WHERE keyword, or in other words up to and including the table reference. Looking at the grammar, we see that table_reference must be followed by the SET keyword: whereas in our command it was actually followed by the WHERE keyword. This explains why the parser reports that a problem was encountered at that point.

   A note of reservation

   Of course, this was a simple example. However, by following the two steps outlined above (i.e. observing exactly where in the command the parser found the grammar to be violated and comparing against the manual's description of what was expected at that point), virtually every syntax error can be readily identified.

   I say "virtually all", because there's a small class of problems that aren't quite so easy to spot—and that is where the parser believes that the language element encountered means one thing whereas you intend it to mean another. Take the following example:

   UPDATE my_table SET where='foo'
   

   Again, the parser does not expect to encounter WHERE at this point and so will raise a similar syntax error—but you hadn't intended for that where to be an SQL keyword: you had intended for it to identify a column for updating! However, as documented under Schema Object Names:

   If an identifier contains special characters or is a reserved word, you must quote it whenever you refer to it. (Exception: A reserved word that follows a period in a qualified name must be an identifier, so it need not be quoted.) Reserved words are listed at Section 9.3, “Keywords and Reserved Words”.

The HashTable is the base class that is weakly type; the DictionaryBase abstract class is stronly typed and uses internally a HashTable.

I found a a strange thing about Dictionary, when we add the multiple entries in Dictionary, the order in which the entries are added is maintained. Thus if I apply a foreach on the Dictionary, I will get the records in the same order I have inserted them.

Whereas, this is not true with normal HashTable, as when I add same records in Hashtable the order is not maintained. As far as my knowledge goes, Dictionary is based on Hashtable, if this is true, why my Dictionary maintains the order but HashTable does not?

As to why they behave differently, it's because Generic Dictionary implements a hashtable, but is not based on System.Collections.Hashtable. The Generic Dictionary implementation is based on allocating key-value-pairs from a list. These are then indexed with the hashtable buckets for random access, but when it returns an enumerator, it just walks the list in sequential order - which will be the order of insertion as long as entries are not re-used.

What are the differences between the assignment operators = and <- in R?

As your example shows, = and <- have slightly different operator precedence (which determines the order of evaluation when they are mixed in the same expression). In fact, ?Syntax in R gives the following operator precedence table, from highest to lowest:

But is this the only difference?

Since you were asking about the assignment operators: yes, that is the only difference. However, you would be forgiven for believing otherwise. Even the R documentation of ?assignOps claims that there are more differences:

The operator <- can be used anywhere, whereas the operator = is only allowed at the top level (e.g., in the complete expression typed at the command prompt) or as one of the subexpressions in a braced list of expressions.

Let’s not put too fine a point on it: the R documentation is wrong. This is easy to show: we just need to find a counter-example of the = operator that isn’t (a) at the top level, nor (b) a subexpression in a braced list of expressions (i.e. {…; …}). — Without further ado:

Clearly we’ve performed an assignment, using =, outside of contexts (a) and (b). So, why has the documentation of a core R language feature been wrong for decades?

It’s because in R’s syntax the symbol = has two distinct meanings that get routinely conflated (even by experts, including in the documentation cited above):

1. The first meaning is as an assignment operator. This is all we’ve talked about so far.
2. The second meaning isn’t an operator but rather a syntax token that signals named argument passing in a function call. Unlike the = operator it performs no action at runtime, it merely changes the way an expression is parsed.

So how does R decide whether a given usage of = refers to the operator or to named argument passing? Let’s see.

Any of these will raise an error “unexpected '=' in ‹bla›”.

In any other context, = refers to the assignment operator call. In particular, merely putting parentheses around the subexpression makes any of the above (a) valid, and (b) an assignment. For instance, the following performs assignment:

median((x = 1 : 10))

But also:

if (! (nf = length(from))) return()

_{Now you might object that such code is atrocious (and you may be right). But I took this code from the base::file.copy function (replacing <- with =) — it’s a pervasive pattern in much of the core R codebase.}

The original explanation by John Chambers, which the the R documentation is probably based on, actually explains this correctly:

[= assignment is] allowed in only two places in the grammar: at the top level (as a complete program or user-typed expression); and when isolated from surrounding logical structure, by braces or an extra pair of parentheses.

In sum, by default the operators <- and = do the same thing. But either of them can be overridden separately to change its behaviour. By contrast, <- and -> (left-to-right assignment), though syntactically distinct, always call the same function. Overriding one also overrides the other. Knowing this is rarely practical but it can be used for some fun shenanigans.

JavaScript validation is not secure as anybody can change what your script does in the browser. Using it for enhancing the visual experience is ok though.

No, that's not really possible, as

• there can be more than one string giving the same MD5
• it was designed to be hard to "reverse"

The goal of the MD5 and its family of hashing functions is

• to get short "extracts" from long string
• to make it hard to guess where they come from
• to make it hard to find collisions, that is other words having the same hash (which is a very similar exigence as the second one)

Think that you can get the MD5 of any string, even very long. And the MD5 is only 16 bytes long (32 if you write it in hexa to store or distribute it more easily). If you could reverse them, you'd have a magical compacting scheme.

This being said, as there aren't so many short strings (passwords...) used in the world, you can test them from a dictionary (that's called "brute force attack") or even google for your MD5. If the word is common and wasn't salted, you have a reasonable chance to succeed...

Imagine a counter with an initial value of 0.

For every loop, increment the counter value by 1 using $counter = 0;

The final counter value returned by the loop will be the number of iterations of your for loop. Find the code below:

Just looking at the documentation it seems you should just declare a buffer of type []byte and pass it to read which will then read up to that many characters and return the number of characters actually read (and an error).

The docs say

Read reads up to len(b) bytes from the File. It returns the number of bytes read and an Error, if any. EOF is signaled by a zero count with err set to EOF.

Does that not work?

EDIT: Also, I think you should perhaps use the Reader/Writer interfaces declared in the bufio package instead of using os package.

Find can be used to print out the file-size in bytes with %s as a printf. %h/%f prints the directory prefix and filename respectively. \n forces a newline.

I faced this issue, and that is when a Bean (@Bean) was not instantiated properly as it was not given the correct parameters in my test class.

You can call a reset function before appending. Something like this:

By failing to provide a decent solution, you just end up with something worse IMHO.

The common work around is as follows.

T[] ts = new T[n];

is replaced with (assuming T extends Object and not another class)

T[] ts = (T[]) new Object[n];

I prefer the first example, however more academic types seem to prefer the second, or just prefer not to think about it.

Most of the examples of why you can't just use an Object[] equally apply to List or Collection (which are supported), so I see them as very poor arguments.

Note: this is one of the reasons the Collections library itself doesn't compile without warnings. If you this use-case cannot be supported without warnings, something is fundamentally broken with the generics model IMHO.

If you can, it might be worth using a class attribute on the TD containing the customer ID so you can write:

My suggestion is to use a function. But rather than putting the if in the function, which you might be tempted to do, do it like this:

If you're using Python 3, where print is already a function (or if you're willing to use print as a function in 2.x using from __future__ import print_function) it's even simpler:

verboseprint = print if verbose else lambda *a, **k: None

This way, the function is defined as a do-nothing if verbose mode is off (using a lambda), instead of constantly testing the verbose flag.

If the user could change the verbosity mode during the run of your program, this would be the wrong approach (you'd need the if in the function), but since you're setting it with a command-line flag, you only need to make the decision once.

You then use e.g. verboseprint("look at all my verbosity!", object(), 3) whenever you want to print a "verbose" message.

These are properties. You would use them like so:

But considering they are declared protected their visibility may be a concern.

I used to have exactly the same problem, and finally it was solved.

I put all the dependent DLLs into the same folder where mylib.dll was stored and make sure the JAVA Compiler could find it (if there is no mylib.dll in the compilation path, there would be an error reporting this during compiling). The important thing you need to notice is you must make sure all the dependent libs are of the same version with mylib.dll, for example if your mylib.dll is release version then you should also put the release version of all its dependent libs there.

Hope this could help others who have encountered the same problem.

The loadUser function expects a function in its third argument, which is bound to the name next. This is a normal function parameter. It holds a reference to the next action to perform and is called once loadUser is done (unless a user could not be found).

There's nothing special about the name next in this example; we could have named it anything.

I think, this example suggests a small nuance on how the partitioning works and how group by works. My example is from Oracle 12, if my example happens to be a compiling bug.

Producing the number of elements in each state based on the external key "data_key". So, if, data_key = 'APPLE' had 3 rows with state 'A', 2 rows with state 'B', a row with state 'C', the corresponding row for 'APPLE' would be 'APPLE', 3, 2, 1, 6.

TL;DR

Java caches boxed Integer instances from -128 to 127. Since you are using == to compare objects references instead of values, only cached objects will match. Either work with long unboxed primitive values or use .equals() to compare your Long objects.

Long (pun intended) version

Why there is problem in comparing Long variable with value greater than 127? If the data type of above variable is primitive (long) then code work for all values.

Java caches Integer objects instances from the range -128 to 127. That said:

• If you set to N Long variables the value 127 (cached), the same object instance will be pointed by all references. (N variables, 1 instance)
• If you set to N Long variables the value 128 (not cached), you will have an object instance pointed by every reference. (N variables, N instances)

That's why this:

Long val1 = 127L;
Long val2 = 127L;

System.out.println(val1 == val2);

Long val3 = 128L;
Long val4 = 128L;

System.out.println(val3 == val4);

Outputs this:

true
false

For the 127L value, since both references (val1 and val2) point to the same object instance in memory (cached), it returns true.

On the other hand, for the 128 value, since there is no instance for it cached in memory, a new one is created for any new assignments for boxed values, resulting in two different instances (pointed by val3 and val4) and returning false on the comparison between them.

That happens solely because you are comparing two Long object references, not long primitive values, with the == operator. If it wasn't for this Cache mechanism, these comparisons would always fail, so the real problem here is comparing boxed values with == operator.

Changing these variables to primitive long types will prevent this from happening, but in case you need to keep your code using Long objects, you can safely make these comparisons with the following approaches:

System.out.println((long)val3 == (long)val4);              // true

(Proper null checking is necessary, even for castings)

IMO, it's always a good idea to stick with .equals() methods when dealing with Object comparisons.

I encountered similar problem with jenkins junit report plugin. It turns out you have to specify *.xml, even if you create junit xml in home directory. (So Test report XMLs: .xml ..(or targeted_directory/.xml).

In v 5.8.38, I set the env file as the following:

If there are multiple certificates in a pfx file (key + corresponding certificate and a CA certificate) then this command worked well for me:

certutil -importpfx c:\somepfx.pfx this works but still a password is needed to be typed in manually for private key. Including -p and "password" cause error too many arguments for certutil on XP

You may also try the Default encoding, which uses the current system's ANSI codepage.

When you try using the Notepad "Save As" menu with the original file, look at the encoding combo box. It will tell you which encoding notepad guessed is used by the file.

Also, if it is an ANSI file, the detectEncodingFromByteOrderMarks parameter will probably not help much.

As others have said, you can use a DateTime and ignore the date, or use a TimeSpan. Personally I'm not keen on either of these solutions, as neither type really reflects the concept you're trying to represent - I regard the date/time types in .NET as somewhat on the sparse side which is one of the reasons I started Noda Time. In Noda Time, you can use the LocalTime type to represent a time of day.

One thing to consider: the time of day is not necessarily the length of time since midnight on the same day...

(As another aside, if you're also wanting to represent a closing time of a shop, you may find that you want to represent 24:00, i.e. the time at the end of the day. Most date/time APIs - including Noda Time - don't allow that to be represented as a time-of-day value.)

One special case: a cookie has no path.

In this case set path as cookie.setPath(request.getRequestURI())

The javascript sets cookie without path so the browser shows it as cookie for the current page only. If I try to send the expired cookie with path == / the browser shows two cookies: one expired with path == / and another one with path == current page.

This is kind of a hack but the best solution that I have found is to use a description tag with no \item. This will produce an error from the latex compiler; however, the error does not prevent the pdf from being generated.

I will leave this here as a possible fix, worked for me at least and might help others. Pretty sure this would be a linux only fix.

I decided to not go with the pip install and go with the github version (option one on the installation guide).

Instead of placing the copied docker-compose directory into /usr/local/bin/docker-compose from the curl/github command, I went with /usr/bin/docker-compose which is the location of Docker itself and will force the program to run in root. This answer has a code example, which implements the algorithm described in the paper Practical In-Place Merging by Bing-Chao Huang and Michael A. Langston. I have to admit that I do not understand the details, but the given complexity of the merge step is O(n).

From a practical perspective, there is evidence that pure in-place implementations are not performing better in real world scenarios. For example, the C++ standard defines std::inplace_merge, which is as the name implies an in-place merge operation.

Assuming that C++ libraries are typically very well optimized, it is interesting to see how it is implemented:

1) libstdc++ (part of the GCC code base): std::inplace_merge

The implementation delegates to __inplace_merge, which dodges the problem by trying to allocate a temporary buffer:

Maybe even the fallback is still O(n) time, but the point is that they do not use the implementation if temporary memory is available.

Note that the C++ standard explicitly gives implementations the freedom to choose this approach by lowering the required complexity from O(n) to O(N log N):

Complexity: Exactly N-1 comparisons if enough additional memory is available. If the memory is insufficient, O(N log N) comparisons.

Of course, this cannot be taken as a proof that constant space in-place merges in O(n) time should never be used. On the other hand, if it would be faster, the optimized C++ libraries would probably switch to that type of implementation.

You just take the binary stream, split it into separate bytes (01100110, 01101111, 01101111) and look up the ASCII character that corresponds to given number. gives you ps -A's output in the out variable (a string). You can break it down into lines and loop on them...:

(you could avoid importing signal, and use 9 instead of signal.SIGKILL, but I just don't particularly like that style, so I'd rather used the named constant this way).

Of course you could do much more sophisticated processing on these lines, but this mimics what you're doing in shell.

If what you're after is avoiding ps, that's hard to do across different Unix-like systems (ps is their common API to get a process list, in a sense). But if you have a specific Unix-like system in mind, only (not requiring any cross-platform portability), it may be possible; in particular, on Linux, the /proc pseudo-filesystem is very helpful. But you'll need to clarify your exact requirements before we can help on this latter part.

It should be:

You could try to create your own color palette using the RColorBrewer package

my_palette <- colorRampPalette(c("green", "black", "red"))(n = 1000)

and see how this looks like. But I assume in your case only scaling would help if you really want to keep the black in "the middle". You can simply use my_palette instead of the redgreen()

I recommend that you check out the RColorBrewer package, they have pretty nice in-built palettes, and see interactive website for colorbrewer.

Instead of overriding the library search path at runtime with LD_LIBRARY_PATH, you could instead bake it into the binary itself with rpath. If you link with GCC adding -Wl,-rpath,<libdir> should do the trick, if you link with ld it's just -rpath <libdir>.

I came across same issue. And my parameter was having null value. So I resolved by handling null value. If someone is not sure runtime value and want to handle null then simply use this. (And you don't want to change the SP/function.) E.g.

the right way(!) to do it is to

1. fork()
2. setsid()
3. execve()

fork forks, setsid tell the current process to become a master one (no parent), execve tell the calling process to be replaced by the called one. so that the parent can quit without affecting the child.

Option 1 - Set VSLauncher.exe and DevEnv.exe to always run as admin

To have Visual Studio always run as admin when opening any .sln file:

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSEnv\VSLauncher.exe.
2. Right-click on VSLauncher.exe and choose Troubleshoot compatibility.
3. Choose Troubleshoot program.
4. Check off The program requires additional permissions and hit Next.

Option 2 - Use VSCommands extension for Visual Studio

Install the free VSCommands extension for Visual Studio (it's in the Visual Studio Extensions Gallery) and then configure it to always have Visual Studio start with admin privileges by going to Tools -> VSCommands -> Options -> IDE Enhancements -> General and check off Always start Visual Studio with elevated permissions and click the Save button.

Note: VSCommands is not currently available for VS 2015, but their site says they are working on updating it to support VS 2015.

My Opinion

I prefer Option 2 because:

• it also allows you to easily turn off this functionality.
• VSCommands comes with lots of other great features so I always have it installed anyways.
• it's just easier to do than option 1.

In addition to the CAST and CONVERT functions in the previous answers, if you are using SQL Server 2012 and above you use the FORMAT function to convert a DATETIME based type to a string.

To convert back, use the opposite PARSE or TRYPARSE functions.

The formatting styles are based on .NET (similar to the string formatting options of the ToString() method) and has the advantage of being culture aware. eg.

The only real alternative here is to use some sort of custom widget with a modal option. Have a look at jQuery UI for an example of a dialog with these features. Similar things exist in just about every JS framework you can mention.

In theory, according to RFC 4329, application/javascript.

The reason it is supposed to be application is not anything to do with whether the type is readable or executable. It's because there are custom charset-determination mechanisms laid down by the language/type itself, rather than just the generic charset parameter. A subtype of text should be capable of being transcoded by a proxy to another charset, changing the charset parameter. This is not true of JavaScript because:

a. the RFC says user-agents should be doing BOM-sniffing on the script to determine type (I'm not sure if any browsers actually do this though);

b. browsers use other information—the including page's encoding and in some browsers the script charset attribute—to determine the charset. So any proxy that tried to transcode the resource would break its users. (Of course in reality no-one ever uses transcoding proxies anyway, but that was the intent.)

Therefore the exact bytes of the file must be preserved exactly, which makes it a binary application type and not technically character-based text.

For the same reason, application/xml is officially preferred over text/xml: XML has its own in-band charset signalling mechanisms. And everyone ignores application for XML, too.

text/javascript and text/xml may not be the official Right Thing, but there are what everyone uses today for compatibility reasons, and the reasons why they're not the right thing are practically speaking completely unimportant.
