Now on the Smartgit webpage (I don't know since when) there is the possibility to download directly the .deb package. Once installed, it will upgrade automagically itself when a new version is released.

Well, the message is pretty much self-explanatory. You did not tell git what your name and email address is.

Open a command line and type:

Just another bit. in some case i found no result on all_tab_privs! i found it indeed on dba_tab_privs. I think so that this last table is better to check for any grant available on an object (in case of impact analysis). The statement becomes:

When using nohup and you put the task in the background, the background operator (&) will give you the PID at the command prompt. If your plan is to manually manage the process, you can save that PID and use it later to kill the process if needed, via kill PID or kill -9 PID (if you need to force kill). Alternatively, you can find the PID later on by ps -ef | grep "command name" and locate the PID from there. Note that nohup keyword/command itself does not appear in the ps output for the command in question.

If you use a script, you could do something like this in the script:

nohup my_command > my.log 2>&1 &
echo $! > save_pid.txt

This will run my_command saving all output into my.log (in a script, $! represents the PID of the last process executed). The 2 is the file descriptor for standard error (stderr) and 2>&1 tells the shell to route standard error output to the standard output (file descriptor 1). It requires &1 so that the shell knows it's a file descriptor in that context instead of just a file named 1. The 2>&1 is needed to capture any error messages that normally are written to standard error into our my.log file (which is coming from standard output). See I/O Redirection for more details on handling I/O redirection with the shell.

If the command sends output on a regular basis, you can check the output occasionally with tail my.log, or if you want to follow it "live" you can use tail -f my.log. Finally, if you need to kill the process, you can do it via:

kill -9 `cat save_pid.txt`
rm save_pid.txt

I've been using:

You likely don't have a CA signed certificate installed in your SQL VM's trusted root store.

If you have Encrypt=True in the connection string, either set that to off (not recommended), or add the following in the connection string:

TrustServerCertificate=True

SQL Server will create a self-signed certificate if you don't install one for it to use, but it won't be trusted by the caller since it's not CA-signed, unless you tell the connection string to trust any server cert by default.

Long term, I'd recommend leveraging Let's Encrypt to get a CA signed certificate from a known trusted CA for free, and install it on the VM. Don't forget to set it up to automatically refresh. You can read more on this topic in SQL Server books online under the topic of "Encryption Hierarchy", and "Using Encryption Without Validation".

Also, name it divrat.m, not divrat.M. This shouldn't matter on most OSes, but who knows...

The interesting thing in this case is we have both a zero and a negative zero:

We don't have -0 with two's-complement; what would be -0 is -128 (or to be more general, one more than the largest positive value). We do with one's complement though; all 1 bits is negative 0.

Mathematically, -0 equals 0. I vaguely remember a computer where -0 < 0, but I can't find any reference to it now.

If you want to keep order of the original list, just use OrderedDict with None as values.

A carriage return \r moves the cursor to the beginning of the current line. A newline \n causes a drop to the next line and possibly the beginning of the next line; That's the platform dependent part that Alexei notes above (on a *nix system \n gives you both a carriage return and a newline, in windows it doesn't)

What you use depends on what you're trying to do. If I wanted to make a little spinning thing on a console I would do str = "|\r/\r-\r\\\r"; for example.

For Android mobile $(window).scroll(function() and $(document).scroll(function() may or may not work. So instead use the following.

moveBus() is getting called before initialize(). Try putting that line at the end of your initialize() function. Also Lat/Lon 0,0 is off the map (it's coordinates, not pixels), so you can't see it when it moves. Try 54,54. If you want the center of the map to move to the new location, use panTo().

Assuming you don't store things like the '+', '()', '-', spaces and what-have-yous (and why would you, they are presentational concerns which would vary based on local customs and the network distributions anyways), the ITU-T recommendation E.164 for the international telephone network (which most national networks are connected via) specifies that the entire number (including country code, but not including prefixes such as the international calling prefix necessary for dialling out, which varies from country to country, nor including suffixes, such as PBX extension numbers) be at most 15 characters.

"singleton" in spring is using bean factory get instance, then cache it; which singleton design pattern is strictly, the instance can only be retrieved from static get method, and the object can never be publicly instantiated.

There's a simpler way to do this:

I ran across this error after just having installed vs 2010 and just trying to get a nearly identical program to work.

I've done vanilla C coding on unix-style boxes before, decided I'd play with this a bit myself.

The first program I tried was:

You can create a plethora of different chart types relatively quickly with loads of customizable options.

As EvanK stated each do script line will open a new window however you can run
two commands with the same do script by separating them with a semicolon. For example:

However, you can append "in window 1" to the do script command (for every do script after the first one) to get the same effect and continue to run as many commands as you need to in the same window:

InputFilters are a little complicated in Android versions that display dictionary suggestions. You sometimes get a SpannableStringBuilder, sometimes a plain String in the source parameter.

The receiver must set port of receiver to match port set in sender DatagramPacket. For debugging try listening on port > 1024 (e.g. 8000 or 9000). Ports < 1024 are typically used by system services and need admin access to bind on such a port.

If the receiver sends packet to the hard-coded port it's listening to (e.g. port 57) and the sender is on the same machine then you would create a loopback to the receiver itself. Always use the port specified from the packet and in case of production software would need a check in any case to prevent such a case.

Another reason a packet won't get to destination is the wrong IP address specified in the sender. UDP unlike TCP will attempt to send out a packet even if the address is unreachable and the sender will not receive an error indication. You can check this by printing the address in the receiver as a precaution for debugging.

In the sender you set:

but might be simpler to use the address in string form:

While you can do that, insofar as it isn't explicitly precluded by the HTTP specification, I would suggest avoiding it simply because people don't expect things to work that way. There are many phases in an HTTP request chain and while they "mostly" conform to the HTTP spec, the only thing you're assured is that they will behave as traditionally used by web browsers. (I'm thinking of things like transparent proxies, accelerators, A/V toolkits, etc.)

This is the spirit behind the Robustness Principle roughly "be liberal in what you accept, and conservative in what you send", you don't want to push the boundaries of a specification without good reason.

However, if you have a good reason, go for it.

I am trying to set a div to a certain percentage height in CSS

Percentage of what?

To set a percentage height, its parent element(*) must have an explicit height. This is fairly self-evident, in that if you leave height as auto, the block will take the height of its content... but if the content itself has a height expressed in terms of percentage of the parent you've made yourself a little Catch 22. The browser gives up and just uses the content height.

So the parent of the div must have an explicit height property. Whilst that height can also be a percentage if you want, that just moves the problem up to the next level.

If you want to make the div height a percentage of the viewport height, every ancestor of the div, including <html> and <body>, have to have height: 100%, so there is a chain of explicit percentage heights down to the div.

(*: or, if the div is positioned, the ‘containing block’, which is the nearest ancestor to also be positioned.)

Alternatively, all modern browsers and IE>=9 support new CSS units relative to viewport height (vh) and viewport width (vw):

You must not use StreamReader for binary files (like gifs or jpgs). StreamReader is for text data. You will almost certainly lose data if you use it for arbitrary binary data. (If you use Encoding.GetEncoding(28591) you will probably be okay, but what's the point?)

Why do you need to use a StreamReader at all? Why not just keep the binary data as binary data and write it back to disk (or SQL) as binary data?

EDIT: As this seems to be something people want to see... if you do just want to copy one stream to another (e.g. to a file) use something like this:

Beyond this, you need to add a manual or automated deployment step to copy the file from /Deploy overtop the one in /Configurations. This works incredibly well for service address and connection strings, and saves effort doing other workarounds.

If you don't like this approach (which scales well to farms, but is weaker on single machine), you might consider adding a web.config file a level up from the service deployment on the host's machine and put the serviceHostingEnvironment node there. It should cascade for you.

The Console.Write method does not write to the "console" -- it writes to whatever is hooked up to the standard output handle for the running process. Similarly, Console.Read reads input from whatever is hooked up to the standard input.

When you run a unit test through Visual Studio 2010, standard output is redirected by the test harness and stored as part of the test output. You can see this by right-clicking the Test Results window and adding the column named "Output (StdOut)" to the display. This will show anything that was written to standard output.

You could manually open a console window, using P/Invoke as sinni800 says. From reading the AllocConsole documentation, it appears that the function will reset stdin and stdout handles to point to the new console window. (I'm not 100% sure about that; it seems kind of wrong to me if I've already redirected stdout for Windows to steal it from me, but I haven't tried.)

In general, though, I think it's a bad idea; if all you want to use the console for is to dump more information about your unit test, the output is there for you. Keep using Console.WriteLine the way you are, and check the output results in the Test Results window when it's done.

UPDATE: This is a hack and it's not working anymore on IOS 4.X and above. This one worked on IOS 3.2.X.

It's not true. Apple doesn't want to autoplay video and audio on IPad because of the high amout of traffic you can use on mobile networks. I wouldn't use autoplay for online content. For Offline HTML sites it's a great feature and thats what I've used it for.

You can only use await in an async method, and Main cannot be async.

You'll have to use your own async-compatible context, call Wait on the returned Task in the Main method, or just ignore the returned Task and just block on the call to Read. Note that Wait will wrap any exceptions in an AggregateException.

Basically, flatMap is the equivalent of Promise.then.

For your second question, do you want to replay values already emitted, or do you want to process new values as they arrive? In the first case, check the publishReplay operator. In the second case, standard subscription is enough. However you might need to be aware of the cold. vs. hot dichotomy depending on your source (cf. Hot and Cold observables : are there 'hot' and 'cold' operators? for an illustrated explanation of the concept)

My underlying APIs were all using cents to represent money, and I didn't want to change that. Nor was I working with large amounts of money. So I just put this in a helper method:

That converts the integer to a string with at least three digits (adding leading zeroes if necessary), then inserts a decimal point before the last two digits, never using a Float. From there you can add whatever currency symbols are appropriate for your use case.

I understand your problem boils down to how to call a SOAP (JAX-WS) web service from Java and get its returning object. In that case, you have two possible approaches:

1. Generate the Java classes through wsimport and use them; or
2. Create a SOAP client that:
   1. Serializes the service's parameters to XML;
   2. Calls the web method through HTTP manipulation; and
   3. Parse the returning XML response back into an object.

About the first approach (using wsimport):

I see you already have the services' (entities or other) business classes, and it's a fact that the wsimport generates a whole new set of classes (that are somehow duplicates of the classes you already have).

I'm afraid, though, in this scenario, you can only either:

• Adapt (edit) the wsimport generated code to make it use your business classes (this is difficult and somehow not worth it - bear in mind everytime the WSDL changes, you'll have to regenerate and readapt the code); or
• Give up and use the wsimport generated classes. (In this solution, you business code could "use" the generated classes as a service from another architectural layer.)

About the second approach (create your custom SOAP client):

In order to implement the second approach, you'll have to:

1. Make the call:
   • Use the SAAJ (SOAP with Attachments API for Java) framework (see below, it's shipped with Java SE 1.6 or above) to make the calls; or
   • You can also do it through java.net.HttpUrlconnection (and some java.io handling).
2. Turn the objects into and back from XML:
   • Use an OXM (Object to XML Mapping) framework such as JAXB to serialize/deserialize the XML from/into objects
   • Or, if you must, manually create/parse the XML (this can be the best solution if the received object is only a little bit differente from the sent one).

Creating a SOAP client using classic java.net.HttpUrlConnection is not that hard (but not that simple either), and you can find in this link a very good starting code.

I recommend you use the SAAJ framework:

SOAP with Attachments API for Java (SAAJ) is mainly used for dealing directly with SOAP Request/Response messages which happens behind the scenes in any Web Service API. It allows the developers to directly send and receive soap messages instead of using JAX-WS.

I had the same issue with Axios requests in a Vue-CLI App. On further checking in Network tab of Chrome, I found that the request URL of axios correctly had https but response 'location' header was http.

There's no Console.writeline in Java. Its in .NET.

Console and standard out are not same. If you read the Javadoc page you mentioned, you will see that an application can have access to a console only if it is invoked from the command line and the output is not redirected like this

Add two jar in libs directory in your project. Follow below information. In particular, I think you need to:

• Import the actual source for the "google-play-services_lib" project and link it as an Android library.

  • Do not add it as a dependent Project through the "Java Build Path" for your project, that didn't work for me.

I found this second step was necessary as I was hitting the exact same error as you when trying to use the sample code. The first step was necessary to avoid a NoClassDefFoundError in com.google.android.gms.R$styleable in my real project.

I also needed to do a Clean build and Uninstall the app from the device (from an earlier test attempt) before the sample code worked.

Usually the DB engine should automatically select the index to use based on query execution plans it builds. However, there are some pretty rare cases when you want to force the DB to use a specific index.

To be able to answer your specific question you have to specify the DB you are using.

For MySQL, you want to read the Index Hint Syntax documentation on how to do this

null is null. false is false. Sad but true.

there's not much consistency in PHP (though it is improving on latest releases, there's too much backward compatibility). Despite the design wishing some consistency (outlined in the selected answer here), it all get confusing when you consider method returns that use false/null in not-so-easy to reason ways.

You will often see null being used when they are already using false for something. e.g. filter_input(). They return false if the variable fails the filter, and null if the variable does not exists (does not existing means it also failed the filter?)

Methods returning false/null/string/etc interchangeably is a hack when the author care about the type of failure, for example, with filter_input() you can check for ===false or ===null if you care why the validation failed. But if you don't it might be a pitfall as one might forget to add the check for ===null if they only remembered to write the test case for ===false. And most php unit test/coverage tools will not call your attention for the missing, untested code path!

I had the same problem, because as soon as display: x; is in animation, it won't animate.

I ended up in creating custom keyframes, first changing the display value then the other values. May give a better solution.

Or, instead of using display: none; use position: absolute; visibility: hidden; It should work.

str2 is pointing to a statically allocated constant character array. You can't write to it/over it. You need to dynamically allocate space via the *alloc family of functions.

This happened to me. I just re-committed the changes, and then it pushed.

I have the same problem since yesterday. Yesterday, I fixed it by creating a new workspace and reimporting the projects. It seemed to work well, but today it started again.

It could also be something as simple as Apache not being configured to start automatically on boot. Assuming you are on a Red Hat-like system such as CentOS or Fedora, the chkconfig –list command will show you which services are set to start for each runlevel. You should see a line like

If instead it says "off" all the way across, you can activate it with chkconfig httpd on. OR you can start apache manually from your panel.

The way to solve your problem is to use a Win32 API called WNetUseConnection.
Use this function to connect to a UNC path with authentication, NOT to map a drive.

This will allow you to connect to a remote machine, even if it is not on the same domain, and even if it has a different username and password.

Once you have used WNetUseConnection you will be able to access the file via a UNC path as if you were on the same domain. The best way is probably through the administrative built in shares.
Example: \\computername\c$\program files\Folder\file.txt

Here is some sample C# code that uses WNetUseConnection.
Note, for the NetResource, you should pass null for the lpLocalName and lpProvider. The dwType should be RESOURCETYPE_DISK. The lpRemoteName should be \\ComputerName.

However, keep in mind that the it looks like it's going to be deprecated in favor of SQLAlchemy:

You can combine those two commands onto a single line, if you prefer:

If you use any(lst) you see that lst is the iterable, which is a list of some items. If it contained [0, False, '', 0.0, [], {}, None] (which all have boolean values of False) then any(lst) would be False. If lst also contained any of the following [-1, True, "X", 0.00001] (all of which evaluate to True) then any(lst) would be True.

In the code you posted, x > 0 for x in lst, this is a different kind of iterable, called a generator expression. Before generator expressions were added to Python, you would have created a list comprehension, which looks very similar, but with surrounding []'s: [x > 0 for x in lst]. From the lst containing [-1, -2, 10, -4, 20], you would get this comprehended list: [False, False, True, False, True]. This internal value would then get passed to the any function, which would return True, since there is at least one True value.

But with generator expressions, Python no longer has to create that internal list of True(s) and False(s), the values will be generated as the any function iterates through the values generated one at a time by the generator expression. And, since any short-circuits, it will stop iterating as soon as it sees the first True value. This would be especially handy if you created lst using something like lst = range(-1,int(1e9)) (or xrange if you are using Python2.x). Even though this expression will generate over a billion entries, any only has to go as far as the third entry when it gets to 1, which evaluates True for x>0, and so any can return True.

If you had created a list comprehension, Python would first have had to create the billion-element list in memory, and then pass that to any. But by using a generator expression, you can have Python's builtin functions like any and all break out early, as soon as a True or False value is seen.

The old fashioned way of setting a global variable that persist between pages is to set the data in a Cookie. The modern way is to use Local Storage, which has a good browser support (IE8+, Firefox 3.5+, Chrome 4+, Android 2+, iPhone 2+). Using localStorage is as easy as using an array:

Installing the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015, 2017 and 2019 worked for me with a similar problem, and helped with another (slightly different) driver issue.

The problem in my case is that the Gemfile.lock file had a BUNDLED_WITH version of 1.16.1 and gem install bundler installed version 2.0.1, so there was a version mismatch when looking to right the folder

gem install bundler -v 1.16.1 fixed it

Of course, you can also change your Gemfile.lock's BUNDLED_WITH with last bundler version and use recent software, as Sam3000 suggests

Not sure if this will help anyone, but I had this issue come up when I deleted the source code from my local machine without having ever saved the solution file to TFS. (During initial development, I was right-clicking and checking in the project in Solution Explorer, but forgot to ever check in the solution itself.) When I needed to work on this again, all I had in TFS was the .csproj file, no .sln file. So in VS I did a File --> Source Control --> Advanced -- Open from Server and opened the .csproj file. From there I did a Save All and it asked me where I wanted to save the .sln file. I was saving this .sln file to the project directory with the other folders (App_Data, App_Start, etc.), not the top level directory. I finally figured out that I need to save the .sln file up a directory from the project folder so it's on the same level as the project folder. All my paths resolved and I was able to build it again.

A piece of code is easier for people who have such problem. I share my code and you can use it directly. Please note that OpenCV store pixels as BGR.

Spring Data is a convenience library on top of JPA that abstracts away many things and brings Spring magic (like it or not) to the persistence store access. It is primarily used for working with relational databases. In short, it allows you to declare interfaces that have methods like findByNameOrderByAge(String name); that will be parsed in runtime and converted into appropriate JPA queries.

Its placement atop of JPA makes its use tempting for:

1. Rookie developers who don't know SQL or know it badly. This is a recipe for disaster but they can get away with it if the project is trivial.

2. Experienced engineers who know what they do and want to spindle up things fast. This might be a viable strategy (but read further).

From my experience with Spring Data, its magic is too much (this is applicable to Spring in general). I started to use it heavily in one project and eventually hit several corner cases where I couldn't get the library out of my way and ended up with ugly workarounds. Later I read other users' complaints and realized that these issues are typical for Spring Data. For example, check this issue that led to hours of investigation/swearing:

I ended up going lower level and started using JDBI - a nice library with just enough "magic" to save you from the boilerplate. With it, you have complete control over SQL queries and almost never have to fight the library.

if you want to delete rows based on some specific cell value. let suppose we have a file containing 10000 rows, and a fields having value of NULL. and based on that null value want to delete all those rows and records.

As you have already stated in your question you have more than one option. A very basic approach would be using the tag referencing your PHP file in the method attribute. However as esoteric as it may sound AJAX is a more complete approach. Considering that an AJAX call (in combination with jQuery) can be as simple as:

And you get a more flexible solution, for example triggering a function after the server request is completed. Hope this helps.

It's nice to have your site be accessible by users with JavaScript disabled, in which case the href points to a page that performs the same action as the JavaScript being executed. Otherwise I use "#" with a "return false;" to prevent the default action (scroll to top of the page) as others have mentioned.

Googling for "javascript:void(0)" provides a lot of information on this topic. Some of them, like this one mention reasons to NOT use void(0).

Try changing the build target platform to x86 and building the project.

I noticed via Subversion that I apparently changed the project build Platform target to x64. This was the only change I had made. After making that change, the code was working for a short while before it started showing the same error you experienced. I changed the platform target to x86 to test and suddenly my designer was working again. Subsequently, I changed it back to x64, and the problem has disappeared completely. I suspect that the designer builds some kind of cached code in x32 and changing the x64 build platform breaks it when you make code changes.

IsEmpty() would be the quickest way to check for that.

IsNull() would seem like a similar solution, but keep in mind Null has to be assigned to the cell; it's not inherently created in the cell.

C++ references should be favored over pointers whenever possible; while a reference is “really” just a pointer, it has the implicit contract of being not-NULL. Perform NULL checks when pointers are turned into references, then you can ignore the issue thereafter.

True enough, but the question still remains, even when replacing raw pointers with smart pointers.

For example, both std::unique_ptr and std::shared_ptr can be constructed as "empty" pointers through their default constructor:

The issue I was having was that I was encrypting on Windows which had version 1.1.0 and then decrypting on a generic Linux system which had 1.0.2g.

Working solution:

A possible solution from @AndrewSavinykh that worked for many (see the comments):

Default digest has changed between those versions from md5 to sha256. One can specify the default digest on the command line as -md sha256 or -md md5 respectively

Here is how I check if string is blank. By 'blank' I mean a string that is either empty or contains only space/newline characters.

window.open doesn't work across all browsers, Google it and you will find a way of detecting the correct dialog type.

Also, move the onclick call to the input button for it to only fire when the user submits.

Install distribute by downloading and running distribute_setup.py. This will make easy_install available, and from there you can install pip with easy_install pip. Then you can run pip install CAGE. Using pip to install things is a lot easier than messing with manually running setup.py, because pip can do things like:

automatically resolve dependencies
show you a list of all installed packages and their versions
install a set of specified packages from a requirements.txt
upgrade and uninstall packages
work with virtualenv

If you're on Windows, the one downside of pip occurs when there are C library dependencies, as pip will want a C toolchain installed so it can compile things. If that is the case, then there are two options. If there are precompiled binaries on PyPI, then just run easy_install package instead; easy_install knows how to use binary packages. You can also check Christoph Gohlke's site for executable installers of many binary packages. These can also be installed by easy_install if you want to use them with a virtualenv (just point it to the path of the .exe) or you can click and run if you don't care about virtualenv.

The main point is that no matter what route you choose to install packages, at no point are you ever moving around files by hand. You need to get out of the mindset of "I extracted this archive, where do I put these .py files?" That's not how it works. You're either running pip, running easy_install, running setup.py, clicking on an installer package, or using your distribution's installer. At no point are you ever doing anything by hand with the files directly.

In case you need to access a specific set of remote services you could use an intermediate reverse-proxy, to perform tls1.2 for you. This would save you from trying to patch or upgrade java1.6.

e.g. app -> proxy:http(5500)[tls-1.2] -> remote:https(443)

Your first reaction to these methods is quite interesting to me. I will use it in future arguments that both assertTrue and assertFalse are not the most friendly tools. If you would use

assertThat(thisOrThat, is(false));

it is much more readable, and it prints a better error message too.

You can have a pair of extension methods to make this task easier:

I guess GameObject is a reference type. Default for reference types is null => you have an array of nulls.

You need to initialize each member of the array separatedly.

houses[0] = new GameObject(..);

Only then can you access the object without compilation errors.

So you can explicitly initalize the array:

or you can change GameObject to value type.

As stated in the above answers, it's always a good practice to initialize the variables, but if you have something which you don't know what value should it takes, and you want to leave it uninitialized so you have to make sure that you are updating it before using it.

For example: Assume we have double _bmi; and you don't know what value should it takes, so you can leave it as it is, but before using it, you have to update its value first like calling a function that calculating BMI like follows:

You need to get familiar with the idea of "Server side" vs. "Client side" code. It's been a long time since I had to start, but you may want to start with some of the video tutorials at http://www.asp.net.

Two things to note: if you're using VS2010 you actually have two different frameworks to chose from for ASP.NET: WebForms and ASP.NET MVC2. WebForms is the old legacy way, MVC2 is being positioned by MS as an alternative not a replacement for WebForms, but we'll see how the community handles it over the next couple of years. Anyway, be sure to pay attention to which one a given tutorial is talking about.

Actually if you downloaded the icons pack from the android web site, you will see that you have one folder per resolution named drawable-mdpi etc. Copy all folders into the res (not the drawable) folder in Android Studio. The Pixastic library does exactly what you want. However, it will only work on browsers that have canvas support. For those older browsers, you'll either need to:

1. supply a server-side fallback, or
2. tell the user that you're very sorry, but he'll need to get a more modern browser.

Of course, option #2 isn't very user-friendly. However, if your intent is to provide a pure client-only tool and/or you can't support a fallback back-end cropper (e.g. maybe you're writing a browser extension or offline Chrome app, or maybe you can't afford a decent hosting provider that provides image manipulation libraries), then it's probably fair to limit your user base to modern browsers.

EDIT: If you don't want to learn Pixastic, I have added a very simple cropper on jsFiddle here. It should be possible to modify and integrate and use the drawCroppedImage function with Jcrop.

1. You can use Microsoft.Extensions.Configuration API with any .NET Core app, not only with ASP.NET Core app. Look into sample provided in the link, that shows how to read configs in the console app.

2. In most cases, the JSON source (read as .json file) is the most suitable config source.

   Note: don't be confused when someone says that config file should be appsettings.json. You can use any file name, that is suitable for you and file location may be different - there are no specific rules.

   But, as the real world is complicated, there are a lot of different configuration providers:

   • File formats (INI, JSON, and XML)
   • Command-line arguments
   • Environment variables

   and so on. You even could use/write a custom provider.

3. Actually, app.config configuration file was an XML file. So you can read settings from it using XML configuration provider (source on github, nuget link). But keep in mind, it will be used only as a configuration source - any logic how your app behaves should be implemented by you. Configuration Provider will not change 'settings' and set policies for your apps, but only read data from the file.

Use the Database menu and "Set Datasource Location" menu option to change the name or location of each table in a report.

This works for changing the location of a database, changing to a new database, and changing the location or name of an individual table being used in your report.

To change the datasource connection, go the Database menu and click Set Datasource Location.

1. Change the Datasource Connection:
   1. From the Current Data Source list (the top box), click once on the datasource connection that you want to change.
   2. In the Replace with list (the bottom box), click once on the new datasource connection.
   3. Click Update.
2. Change Individual Tables:
   4. From the Current Data Source list (the top box), expand the datasource connection that you want to change.
   5. Find the table for which you want to update the location or name.
   6. In the Replace with list (the bottom box), expand the new datasource connection.
   7. Find the new table you want to update to point to.
   8. Click Update.
   9. Note that if the table name has changed, the old table name will still appear in the Field Explorer even though it is now using the new table. (You can confirm this be looking at the Table Name of the table's properties in Current Data Source in Set Datasource Location. 3. Change Subreports:
   9. Repeat each of the above steps for any subreports you might have embedded in your report.
   10. Close the Set Datasource Location window.
4. Any Commands or SQL Expressions:
   11. Go to the Database menu and click Database Expert.
   12. If the report designer used "Add Command" to write custom SQL it will be shown in the Selected Tables box on the right.
   13. Right click that command and choose "Edit Command".
   14. Check if that SQL is specifying a specific database. If so you might need to change it.
   15. Close the Database Expert window.
   16. In the Field Explorer pane on the right, right click any SQL Expressions.
   17. Check if the SQL Expressions are specifying a specific database. If so you might need to change it also.
   18. Save and close your Formula Editor window when you're done editing.

And try running the report again.

The key is to change the datasource connection first, then any tables you need to update, then the other stuff. The connection won't automatically change the tables underneath. Those tables are like goslings that've imprinted on the first large goose-like animal they see. They'll continue to bypass all reason and logic and go to where they've always gone unless you specifically manually change them.

To make it more convenient, here's a tip: You can "Show SQL Query" in the Database menu, and you'll see table names qualified with the database (like "Sales"."dbo"."Customers") for any tables that go straight to a specific database. That might make the hunting easier if you have a lot of stuff going on. When I tackled this problem I had to change each and every table to point to the new table in the new database.
