In Qt 4.7, there is the QDateTime::currentMSecsSinceEpoch() static function, which does exactly what you need, without any intermediary steps. Hence I'd recommend that for projects using Qt 4.7 or newer.

I like the functions of SandRock. But I found an error in the code of dbo.fn_ConvertIpAddressToBinary. The incoming parameter of @ipAddress VARCHAR(39) is too small when you concat the @delim to it.

You can increase it to 40. Or better yet use a new variable that is bigger and use that internally. That way you don't lose the last pair on large numbers.

View v is the view to be animated, PARENT_VIEW is the container view containing the view.

Compile a DLL in C/C++, then call it from another program

There is but one difference. You have to take care or name mangling win C++. But on windows you have to take care about 1) decrating the functions to be exported from the DLL 2) write a so called .def file which lists all the exported symbols.

In Windows while compiling a DLL have have to use

__declspec(dllexport)

but while using it you have to write __declspec(dllimport)

So the usual way of doing that is something like

The naming is a bit confusing, because it is often named EXPORT.. But that's what you'll find in most of the headers somwhere. So in your case you'd write (with the above #define)

Remember that you have to add the Preprocessor directive BUILD_DLL during building the shared library.

If you want to split only by newlines, you can use str.splitlines():

I'll slightly expand @assylias answer to take time zone into account. There are at least two ways to get LocalDateTime for specific time zone.

You can use setDefault time zone for whole application. It should be called before any timestamp -> java.time conversion:

Just add the name of the table between DELETE and FROM from where you want to delete records, because we have to specify the table to delete. Also remove the ORDER BY clause because there is nothing to order while deleting records.

Try to browse the service in the browser and in the Https mode, if it is not brow-sable then it proves the reason for this error. Now, to solve this error you need to check :

This is similar to the top answer, but I like it better because it avoids explicit indexing. Assuming your list has the name lst, you can generate
(item, next_item) tuples from your list with zip:

all(x <= y for x,y in zip(lst, lst[1:]))

In Python 3, zip already returns a generator, in Python 2 you can use itertools.izip for better memory efficiency.

Small demo:

Make sure to use itertools.izip here if you are using Python 2, otherwise you would defeat the purpose of not having to create lists from the generators.

Static variables (file scope and function static) are initialized to zero:

Non-static variables (local variables) are indeterminate. Reading them prior to assigning a value results in undefined behavior.

In practice, they tend to just have some nonsensical value in there initially - some compilers may even put in specific, fixed values to make it obvious when looking in a debugger - but strictly speaking, the compiler is free to do anything from crashing to summoning demons through your nasal passages.

As for why it's undefined behavior instead of simply "undefined/arbitrary value", there are a number of CPU architectures that have additional flag bits in their representation for various types. A modern example would be the Itanium, which has a "Not a Thing" bit in its registers; of course, the C standard drafters were considering some older architectures.

Attempting to work with a value with these flag bits set can result in a CPU exception in an operation that really shouldn't fail (eg, integer addition, or assigning to another variable). And if you go and leave a variable uninitialized, the compiler might pick up some random garbage with these flag bits set - meaning touching that uninitialized variable may be deadly.

OOP vs Functional Programming vs Procedural

All of them are good in their own ways - They're simply different approaches to the same problems.

In a purely procedural style, data tends to be highly decoupled from the functions that operate on it.

In an object oriented style, data tends to carry with it a collection of functions.

In a functional style, data and functions tend toward having more in common with each other (as in Lisp and Scheme) while offering more flexibility in terms of how functions are actually used. Algorithms tend also to be defined in terms of recursion and composition rather than loops and iteration.

Of course, the language itself only influences which style is preferred. Even in a pure-functional language like Haskell, you can write in a procedural style (though that is highly discouraged), and even in a procedural language like C, you can program in an object-oriented style (such as in the GTK+ and EFL APIs).

To be clear, the "advantage" of each paradigm is simply in the modeling of your algorithms and data structures. If, for example, your algorithm involves lists and trees, a functional algorithm may be the most sensible. Or, if, for example, your data is highly structured, it may make more sense to compose it as objects if that is the native paradigm of your language - or, it could just as easily be written as a functional abstraction of monads, which is the native paradigm of languages like Haskell or ML.

The choice of which you use is simply what makes more sense for your project and the abstractions your language supports.

I know that I'm not answering the xargs question directly but it's worth mentioning find's -exec option.

The find command can be made to handle the space in Dream Theater and King's X. So, to find the drummers of each band using grep:

bands/King's X:Drums:Jerry Gaskill

In the -exec option {} stands for the filename including path. Note that you don't have to escape it or put it in quotes.

The difference between -exec's terminators (+ and \;) is that + groups as many file names that it can onto one command line. Whereas \; will execute the command for each file name.

So, find bands/ -type f -exec grep Drums {} + will result in:

and find bands/ -type f -exec grep Drums {} \; will result in:

The use of auto to mean a deduced type was new with C++11.

At the same time, auto x = initializer deduces the type of x from the type of initializer the same way as template type deduction works for function templates. Consider a function template like this:

At point A, a type has been assigned to T based on the value passed for the parameter to whatever. When you do auto x = initializer;, the same type deduction is used to determine the type for x from the type of initializer that's used to initialize it.

This means that most of the type deduction mechanics a compiler needs to implement auto were already present and used for templates on any compiler that even sort of attempted to implement C++98/03. As such, adding support for auto was apparently fairly easy for essentially all the compiler teams--it was added quite quickly, and there seem to have been few bugs related to it either.

When this answer was originally written (in 2011, before the ink was dry on the C++ 11 standard) auto was already quite portable. Nowadays, it's thoroughly portable among all the mainstream compilers. The only obvious reasons to avoid it would be if you need to write code that's compatible with a C compiler, or you have a specific need to target some niche compiler that you know doesn't support it (e.g., a few people still write code for MS-DOS using compilers from Borland, Watcom, etc., that haven't seen significant upgrades in decades). If you're using a reasonably current version of any of the mainstream compilers, there's no reason to avoid it at all though.

I'm also hoping that you are certain that you actually need more than 300 open cursors per session. A large fraction of the time, people that are adjusting this setting actually have a cursor leak and they are simply trying to paper over the bug rather than addressing the root cause.

You can use JSON.stringify(object) with an object and I just wrote a function that'll recursively convert an array to an object, like this JSON.stringify(convArrToObj(array)), which is the following code (more detail can be found on this answer):

There are many comparisons between Apache Solr and ElasticSearch available, so I'll reference those I found most useful myself, i.e. covering the most important aspects:

Which fits for which usage?, which summarizes the reasons why he went ahead and created ElasticSearch, which in his opinion provides a much superior distributed model and ease of use in comparison to Solr.

  • Ryan Sonnek's Realtime Search: Solr vs Elasticsearch provides an insightful analysis/comparison and explains why he switched from Solr to ElasticSeach, despite being a happy Solr user already - he summarizes this as follows:

    Solr may be the weapon of choice when building standard search applications, but Elasticsearch takes it to the next level with an architecture for creating modern realtime search applications. Percolation is an exciting and innovative feature that singlehandedly blows Solr right out of the water. Elasticsearch is scalable, speedy and a dream to integrate with.   • The Wikipedia article on ElasticSearch quotes a comparison from the reputed German iX magazine, listing advantages and disadvantages, which pretty much summarize what has been said above already:

    • ElasticSearch fully supports the near real-time search of Apache Lucene.
    • Handling multitenancy is not a special configuration, where with Solr a more advanced setup is necessary.

  • Amazon ElastiCache - Amazon ElastiCache is a web service that makes it easy to deploy, operate, and scale an in-memory cache in the cloud.

    • Please note that Amazon ElastiCache is protocol-compliant with Memcached, a widely adopted memory object caching system, so code, applications, and popular tools that you use today with existing Memcached environments will work seamlessly with the service (see Memcached for details).

Maybe this has been confused with the following two related technologies one way or another:

  • ElasticSearch - It is an Open Source (Apache 2), Distributed, RESTful, Search Engine built on top of Apache Lucene.

  • Amazon CloudSearch - Amazon CloudSearch is a fully-managed search service in the cloud that allows customers to easily integrate fast and highly scalable search functionality into their applications.

The Solr and ElasticSearch offerings sound strikingly similar at first sight, and both use the same backend search engine, namely Apache Lucene.

While Solr is older, quite versatile and mature and widely used accordingly, ElasticSearch has been developed specifically to address Solr shortcomings with scalability requirements in modern cloud environments, which are hard(er) to address with Solr.

As such it would probably be most useful to compare ElasticSearch with the recently introduced Amazon CloudSearch (see the introductory post Start Searching in One Hour for Less Than $100 / Month), because both claim to cover the same use cases in principle.

strcat(str1, str2) appends str2 after str1. It requires str1 to have enough space to hold str2. In you code, str1 and str2 are all string constants, so it should not work. You may try this way:

You can use split() to get string array from comma separated string. If you iterate and perform mathematical operation on element of string array then that element will be treated as number by run-time cast but still you have string array. To convert comma separated string int array see the edit.

Any user whose login shell setting in /etc/passwd is an interactive shell can login. I don't think there's a totally reliable way to tell if a program is an interactive shell; checking whether it's in /etc/shells is probably as good as you can get.

How is a CRC32 checksum calculated?

A CRC is pretty simple; you take a polynomial represented as bits and the data, and divide the polynomial into the data (or you represent the data as a polynomial and do the same thing). The remainder, which is between 0 and the polynomial is the CRC. Your code is a bit hard to understand, partly because it's incomplete: temp and testcrc are not declared, so it's unclear what's being indexed, and how much data is running through the algorithm.

The way to understand CRCs is to try to compute a few using a short piece of data (16 bits or so) with a short polynomial -- 4 bits, perhaps. If you practice this way, you'll really understand how you might go about coding it.

If you're doing it frequently, a CRC is quite slow to compute in software. Hardware computation is much more efficient, and requires just a few gates.

Go to Project> Properties> C/C++ Build> Environment. You will see three fields, choose PATH. See if the folder containing make.exe is appended to the path or not. There is no XML declaration in the request body that includes your SOAP XML.

You specify text/xml in the ContentType of your HttpRequest and no charset. Perhaps these default to us-ascii, but there's no telling if you aren't specifying them!

The SoapUI created XML includes an XML declaration that specifies an encoding of utf-8, which also matches the Content-Type provided to the HTTP request which is: text/xml; charset=utf-8

window.location adds an item to your history in that you can (or should be able to) click "Back" and go back to the current page.

window.location.replace replaces the current history item so you can't go back to it.

See window.location:

replace(url):Replace the current document with the one at the provided URL. The difference from the assign() method is that after using replace() the current page will not be saved in session history, meaning the user won't be able to use the Back button to navigate to it.

  4. Delete the branch

    git branch -D main

  5. Rename the current branch to main

I have read that while the underlying chips are essentially the same, the design of the board is different.

Gamers want performance, and tend to favor overclocking and other things to get high frame rates but which maybe burn out the hardware occasionally.

If you don't know what ECC memory is about: it's a [relatively] well known fact that sometimes memory "flips bits (experiences errors)". This does not happen too often, but is an unavoidable consequence of the underlying physics of the memory cards and the world we live in. ECC memory adds a small percentage to the cost and a small penalty to the performance and has enough redundancy to correct occasional errors and to detect (but not correct) somewhat rarer errors. Gamers don't care about that kind of accuracy because for gamers those are just very rare visual glitches. Companies do care about that kind of accuracy because those glitches would wind up as glitches in their products or else would require more double or triple checking (which winds up being a 2x or 3x performance penalty for some part of their business).

Another issue I have read about has to do with hooking up the graphics card to third party hardware. In other words: sending the images to another card or to another machine instead of to the screen. Most gamers are just using canned software that doesn't have any use for such capabilities. Companies that use that kind of thing get orders of magnitude performance gains from the more direct connections.

Is there a method to generate a UUID with go language

The go-uuid library is NOT RFC4122 compliant. The variant bits are not set correctly. There have been several attempts by community members to have this fixed but pull requests for the fix are not being accepted.

You can generate UUIDs using the Go uuid library I rewrote based on the go-uuid library. There are several fixes and improvements. This can be installed with:

go get github.com/twinj/uuid

You can generate random (version 4) UUIDs with:

The returned UUID type is an interface and the underlying type is an array.

Update: To answer the performance-question raised here, I made a measurement. First thing: 20.000 lines are too few, to get the program running for a noticeable time. I created a text-file with 5 million lines. This solution (started with java without parameters like -server or -XX-options) needed around 11 seconds on my box. The same with wc -l (UNIX command-line-tool to count lines), 11 seconds. The solution reading every single character and looking for '\n' needed 104 seconds, 9-10 times as much.

In my case I have 15 segments. Each segment has start of the address and end of the address. Choose any segment to search data for. For example lets select load11 and search for a pattern. Load11 has start address 0x08049000 and ends at 0x804a000.

3) Search for a pattern in the segment.

If you don't have executable file you need to use a program which prints data of all segments of a core file. Then you can search for a particular data at an address. The isConnected method won't help, it will return true even if the remote side has closed the socket. Try this:

When the browser puts something in its cache, it also stores the Last-Modified or ETag header from the server.

The browser then sends a request with the If-Modified-Since or If-None-Match header, telling the server to send a 304 if the content still has that date or ETag.

IList<T> does NOT inherits from IList (but List<T> does implement both IList<T> and IList), but is always variable-size. Since .NET 4.5, we have also IReadOnlyList<T> but AFAIK, there is no fixed-size generic List which would be what you are looking for.

select nvl(max(1), 0) from mytable;

This statement yields 0 if there are no rows, 1 if you have at least one row in that table. It's way faster than doing a select count(*). The optimizer "sees" that only a single row needs to be fetched to answer the question.

If you use Python 3.6 (possibly 3.5 or later), it doesn't give that error to me anymore. I had a similar issue, because I was using v3.4, but it went away after I uninstalled and reinstalled.

You can use the end keyword:

Note that you'll have to print() the final newline yourself. BTW, you won't get "12345678910" in Python 2 with the trailing comma, you'll get 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 instead.

Where should I put <script> tags in HTML markup?

Depending on the script and its usage the best possible (in terms of page load and rendering time) may be to not use a conventional <script>-tag per se, but to dynamically trigger the loading of the script asynchronously.

There are some different techniques, but the most straight forward is to use document.createElement("script") when the window.onload event is triggered. Then the script is loaded first when the page itself has rendered, thus not impacting the time the user has to wait for the page to appear.

This naturally requires that the script itself is not needed for the rendering of the page.

  • Let L = size(M)
  • Let idx = zeros(L,1)
  • Take length(L) as the maximum depth
  • Loop for idx(depth) = 1:L(depth)
  • If your depth is length(L), do the element operation, else call the function again with depth+1

Not as fast as vectorized methods if you want to check all the points, but if you don't need to evaluate most of them it can be quite a time saver.

You should check out the moment.js api, it is very easy to use and has lots of built in features.

Using http.createServer is very low-level and really not useful for creating web applications as-is.

A good framework to use on top of it is Express, and I would seriously suggest using it. You can install it using npm install express.

When you have, you can create a basic application to handle your form:

The reason you can't run Node on port 80 is because there's already a process running on that port (which is serving your index.html). You could use Express to also serve static content, like index.html, using the express.static middleware.

Correct set of dependencies for using Jackson mapper

Apart from fixing the imports, do a fresh maven clean compile -U. Note the -U option, that brings in new dependencies which sometimes the editor has hard time with. Let the compilation fail due to un-imported classes, but at least you have an option to import them after the maven command.

Just doing Maven->Reimport from Intellij did not work for me.

I've had a similar issue which boiled down to removing files under "unmerged paths"

Convert SVG to PNG in Python

I did not find any of the answers satisfactory. All the mentioned libraries have some problem or the other like Cairo dropping support for python 3.6 (they dropped Python 2 support some 3 years ago!). Also, installing the mentioned libraries on the Mac was a pain.

Finally, I found the best solution was svglib + reportlab. Both installed without a hitch using pip and first call to convert from svg to png worked beautifully! Very happy with the solution.

Just 2 commands do the trick:

My idea is to get max of rows count of all data.frames and next append empty matrix to every data.frame if need. This method doesn't require additional packages, only base is used. Code looks following:
