org.hibernate.MappingException: Unknown entity: annotations.Users

In my case it resolves by adding configuration.addAnnotatedClass(com.myApp.model.Example.class); after Configuration configuration = new Configuration().configure(HibernateUtil.class.getResource("/hibernate.cfg.xml")); in hibernateUtill class. org.hibernate.QueryException: could not resolve property: filename

Hibernate queries are case sensitive with property names (because they end up relying on getter/setter methods on the @Entity).

Make sure you refer to the property as fileName in the Criteria query, not filename.

Specifically, Hibernate will call the getter method of the filename property when executing that Criteria query, so it will look for a method called getFilename(). But the property is called FileName and the getter getFileName().

So, change the projection like so:

criteria.setProjection(Projections.property("fileName"));

Java check if boolean is null

boolean can only be true or false because it's a primitive datatype (+ a boolean variables default value is false). You can use the class Boolean instead if you want to use null values. Boolean is a reference type, that's the reason you can assign null to a Boolean "variable". Example:

Everywhere inside the query string, the wildcard should be ? instead of '?'. That should solve the problem.

EDIT :

To add to that, you need to change date '?' to to_date(?, 'yyyy-mm-dd'). Please try that and let me know.

Converting a JToken (or string) to a given Type

var i2 = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject(obj["id"].ToString(), type);

throws a parsing exception due to missing quotes around the first argument (I think). I got it to work by adding the quotes:

To append to an array, just use the += operator.

Also, you need to declare $Target = @() before your loop because otherwise, it will empty the array every loop.

Java system properties and environment variables

I think the difference between the two boils down to access. Environment variables are accessible by any process and Java system properties are only accessible by the process they are added to.

Also as Bohemian stated, env variables are set in the OS (however they 'can' be set through Java) and system properties are passed as command line options or set via setProperty().

The mail server on CentOS 6 and other IPv6 capable server platforms may be bound to IPv6 localhost (::1) instead of IPv4 localhost (127.0.0.1).

Typical symptoms:

If this happens, make sure that you don't have two entries for localhost in /etc/hosts with different IP addresses, like this (bad) example:

To avoid confusion, make sure you only have one entry for localhost, preferably an IPv4 address, like this:

Illegal access: this web application instance has been stopped already

In short: this happens likely when you are hot-deploying webapps. For instance, your ide+development server hot-deploys a war again. Threads, that have been created previously are still running. But meanwhile their classloader/context is invalid and faces the IllegalAccessException / IllegalStateException becouse its orgininating webapp (the former runtime-environment) has been redeployed.

So, as states here, a restart does not permanently resolve this issue. Instead, it is better to find/implement a managed Thread Pool, s.th. like this to handle the termination of threads appropriately. In JavaEE you will use these ManagedThreadExeuctorServices. A similar opinion and reference here.

Examples for this are the EvictorThread of Apache Commons Pool, that "cleans" pooled instances according to the pool's configuration (max idle etc.).

How to dynamic new Anonymous Class?

Of cause it's possible to create dynamic classes using very cool ExpandoObject class. But recently I worked on project and faced that Expando Object is serealized in not the same format on xml as an simple Anonymous class, it was pity =( , that is why I decided to create my own class and share it with you. How to get a list of properties with a given attribute?

The solution I end up using most is based off of Tomas Petricek's answer. I usually want to do something with both the attribute and property.

Empty responseText from XMLHttpRequest

This might not be the best way to do it. But it somehow worked for me, so i'm going to run with it.

In my php function that returns the data, one line before the return line, I add an echo statement, echoing the data I want to send.

Now sure why it worked, but it did.

Using HTTPS with REST in Java

The answer of delfuego is the simplest way to solve the certificate problem. But, in my case, one of our third party url (using https), updated their certificate every 2 months automatically. It means that I have to import the cert to our Java trust store manually every 2 months as well. Sometimes it caused production problems.

So, I made a method to solve it with SecureRestClientTrustManager to be able to consume https url without importing the cert file. Here is the method:

How do a send an HTTPS request through a proxy in Java?

HTTPS proxy doesn't make sense because you can't terminate your HTTP connection at the proxy for security reasons. With your trust policy, it might work if the proxy server has a HTTPS port. Your error is caused by connecting to HTTP proxy port with HTTPS.

You can connect through a proxy using SSL tunneling (many people call that proxy) using proxy CONNECT command. However, Java doesn't support newer version of proxy tunneling. In that case, you need to handle the tunneling yourself. You can find sample code here,

The good news is that the SSL tunneling bug is fixed so you can just use the default factory. I just tried with a proxy and everything works as expected. See my code,

As you can see, both SSLContext and hostnameVerifier are getting called. HostnameVerifier is only involved when the hostname doesn't match the cert. I used "www.verisign.net" to trigger this.

Marc's answer is the approach I use for this, but for simplicity (and a friendlier API?) you can define a property in the collection base class if you have one such as:

This solution of course assumes that you want to compare the nth item of seq1 with the nth item in seq2. If you want to do match the elements in the two sequences based on a particular property/comparison, then you'll want to perform some sort of join operation (as suggested by danbruc using Enumerable.Join. Do let me know if it neither of these approaches is quite what I'm after and maybe I can suggest something else.

Edit: Here's an example of how you might use the CompareSequences method with the comparer function you originally posted.

Guzzle implements PSR-7. That means that it will by default store the body of a message in a Stream that uses PHP temp streams. To retrieve all the data, you can use casting operator:

The difference between the two approaches is that getContents returns the remaining contents, so that a second call returns nothing unless you seek the position of the stream with rewind or seek .

First you need to create the config file, using cmd : jupyter notebook --generate-config Then, search for C:\Users\your_username\.jupyter folder (Search for that folder), and right click edit the jupyter_notebook_config.py.

Then, Ctrl+F: #c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir ='' . Note that the quotes are single quotes. Select your directory you want to have as home for your jupyter, and copy it with Ctrl+C, for example: C:\Users\username\Python Projects.

Then on that line, paste it like this : c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = 'C:\\Users\\username\\Python Projects'

Make sure to remove #, as it is as comment.

Make sure to double slash \\ on each name of your path. Ctrl+S to save the config.py file !!!

Go back to your cmd and run jupyter notebook. It should be in your directory of choice. Test it by making a folder and watch your directory from your computer.

Simple way to find if two different lists contain exactly the same elements?

It depends on what concrete List class you are using. The abstract class AbstractCollection has a method called containsAll(Collection) that takes another collection ( a List is a collection) and:

Returns true if this collection contains all of the elements in the specified collection.

So if an ArrayList is being passed in you can call this method to see if they are exactly the same.

       List foo = new ArrayList();
    List bar = new ArrayList();
    String str = "foobar";

    foo.add(str);
    bar.add(str);

    foo.containsAll(bar);

The reason for containsAll() is because it iterates through the first list looking for the match in the second list. So if they are out of order equals() will not pick it up.

EDIT: I just want to make a comment here about the amortized running time of performing the various options being offered. Is running time important? Sure. Is it the only thing you should consider? No.

The cost of copying EVERY single element from your lists into other lists takes time, and it also takes up a good chunk of memory (effectively doubling the memory you are using).

So if memory in your JVM isn't a concern (which it should generally be) then you still need to consider the time it takes to copy every element from two lists into two TreeSets. Remember it is sorting every element as it enters them.

My final advice? You need to consider your data set and how many elements you have in your data set, and also how large each object in your data set is before you can make a good decision here. Play around with them, create one each way and see which one runs faster. It's a good exercise.

You would get a type mismatch if Sheets(name).Cells(4 + i, 57) contains a non-numeric value. You should validate the fields before you assume they are numbers and try to subtract from them.

Also, you should enable Option Strict so you are forced to explicitly convert your variables before trying to perform type-dependent operations on them such as subtraction. That will help you identify and eliminate issues in the future, too.    Unfortunately Option Strict is for VB.NET only. Still, you should look up best practices for explicit data type conversions in VBA.

sumall is a number, and you can't access its digits using the subscript notation (sumall[0], sumall[1]). For that to work, you'll need to transform it back to a string.

Two years late, but I have the solution you're looking for. Not intending to take credit form the original author, here's a plugin which I found works exceptionally well for what you need, but gets all possible styles in all browsers, even IE.

Warning: This code generates a lot of output, and should be used sparingly. It not only copies all standard CSS properties, but also all vendor CSS properties for that browser.

How to complete the RUNAS command in one line

The runas command does not allow a password on its command line. This is by design (and also the reason you cannot pipe a password to it as input). Raymond Chen says it nicely:

The RunAs program demands that you type the password manually. Why doesn't it accept a password on the command line?

This was a conscious decision. If it were possible to pass the password on the command line, people would start embedding passwords into batch files and logon scripts, which is laughably insecure.

In other words, the feature is missing to remove the temptation to use the feature insecurely.

Bit of a late response but I noticed that this information can be hard to find and haven't found the answer on SO, so here it is.

Try a differnt parameter #view=FitH to force it to fit in the horzontal space and also you need to start the querystring off with a # rather than an & making it:

filename.pdf#view=FitH

What I've noticed it is that this will work if adobe reader is embedded in the browser but chrome will use it's own version of the reader and won't respond in the same way. In my own case, the chrome browser zoomed to fit width by default, so no problem , but Internet Explorer needed the above parameters to ensure the link always opened the pdf page with the correct view setting.

I was missing several DLLs. Even if I manually copied them to the directory the next time I published they would disappear. Each one was already set to Copy Locally in VS. The fix for me was to set each one to Copy Locally false, save, build then set each one to copy locally true. This time when I published all of the DLLs published correctly. Strange

There are many solutions to this problem but for my situation, I just needed to correct the DATE on the machine/server (Ubuntu 16.04 Server).

i) Check the date of your server and correct it.

ii) Run sudo /etc/init.d/mysql restart

That should get it started.

curl's --data will by default send Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded in the request header. However, when using Postman's raw body mode, Postman sends Content-Type: text/plain in the request header.

Best way to detect when a user leaves a web page?

In the case you need to do some asynchronous code (like sending a message to the server that the user is not focused on your page right now), the event beforeunload will not give time to the async code to run. In the case of async I found that the visibilitychange and mouseleave events are the best options. These events fire when the user change tab, or hiding the browser, or taking the courser out of the window scope.

Superscript in CSS only?

Honestly I don't see the point in doing superscript/subscript in CSS only. There's no handy CSS attribute for it, just a bunch of homegrown implementations including:

.superscript { position: relative; top: -0.5em; font-size: 80%; }

or using vertical-align or I'm sure other ways. Thing is, it starts to get complicated:

The second point is worth emphasizing. Typically superscript/subscript is not actually a styling issue but is indicative of meaning.

To perform *new tile_tree_apple the constructor of tile_tree_apple should be called, but in this place compiler knows nothing about tile_tree_apple, so it can't use the constructor.

I do this as a side-effect of pushing with the -u option as in

The equivalent long option is --set-upstream.

The git-branch command also understands --set-upstream, but its use can be confusing. Version 1.8.0 modifies the interface.

It was tempting to say git branch --set-upstream origin/master, but that tells Git to arrange the local branch "origin/master" to integrate with the currently checked out branch, which is highly unlikely what the user meant. Excel Formula: Count cells where value is date

Here is how I was able to trick Excel to count expired certifications in a list. I didn't have a set date, or date range, just current date. "TODAY()" doesn't work in these for Excel 2013. It sees it as text or condition, not the date value. So these previous didn't work for me. So the word problem/scenario: How many people are expired in this list?

Use: =IFERROR(D5-TODAY(),0) Where D5 is the date to be interrogated.

Then use: =IF(J5>=1,1,0) Where J5 is the cell where the first equation is producing either a positive or negative number. This set, I have hidden on the side of the visible sheet, then I just sum the total for the number of unexpired members.

Node.js Error: connect ECONNREFUSED

People run into this error when the Node.js process is still running and they are attempting to start the server again. Try this:

Regular expression for extracting tag attributes

Just to agree with everyone else: don't parse HTML using regexp.

It isn't possible to create an expression that will pick out attributes for even a correct piece of HTML, never mind all the possible malformed variants. Your regexp is already pretty much unreadable even without trying to cope with the invalid lack of quotes; chase further into the horror of real-world HTML and you will drive yourself crazy with an unmaintainable blob of unreliable expressions.

There are existing libraries to either read broken HTML, or correct it into valid XHTML which you can then easily devour with an XML parser. Use them.

Also known as Frozen Binaries but not the same as as the output of a true compiler- they run byte code through a virtual machine (PVM). Run the same as a compiled program just larger because the program is being compiled along with the PVM. Py2exe can freeze standalone programs that use the tkinter, PMW, wxPython, and PyGTK GUI libraties; programs that use the pygame game programming toolkit; win32com client programs; and more. The Stackless Python system is a standard CPython implementation variant that does not save state on the C language call stack. This makes Python more easy to port to small stack architectures, provides efficient multiprocessing options, and fosters novel programming structures such as coroutines. Other systems of study that are working on future development: Pyrex is working on the Cython system, the Parrot project, the PyPy is working on replacing the PVM altogether, and of course the founder of Python is working with Google to get Python to run 5 times faster than C with the Unladen Swallow project. In short, py2exe is the easiest and Cython is more efficient for now until these projects improve the Python Virtual Machine (PVM) for standalone files.

Corrupt jar file

This regularly occurs when you change the extension on the JAR for ZIP, extract the zip content and make some modifications on files such as changing the MANIFEST.MF file which is a very common case, many times Eclipse doesn't generate the MANIFEST file as we want, or maybe we would like to modify the CLASS-PATH or the MAIN-CLASS values of it.

The problem occurs when you zip back the folder.

A valid Runnable/Executable JAR has the next structure:

When you use a zip tool to unpack, change files and zip again, normally the JAR structure changes to this structure which is incorrect, since another directory level is added on the top of the file system making it a corrupted file as is shown below:

Pass parameter from a batch file to a PowerShell script

When a script is loaded, any parameters that are passed are automatically loaded into a special variables $args. You can reference that in your script without first declaring it.

As an example, create a file called test.ps1 and simply have the variable $args on a line by itself. Invoking the script like this, generates the following output:

However note that case is important, as are any leading or trailing spaces. Use var_dump to find out the length of the strings too, and see if they fit.

I prefer this solution, over the accepted answer by Michael Williamson, it catches changes to sources+inline files, then sources+headers, and finally sources only. Advantage here is that the whole library is not recompiled if only a a few changes are made. It is a function that will halt program execution if the value it has evaluated is false. Usually it is surrounded by a macro so that it is not compiled into the resultant binary when compiled with release settings.

It is designed to be used for testing the assumptions you have made. For example:

Import local function from a module housed in another directory with relative imports in Jupyter Notebook using Python 3

So far, the accepted answer has worked best for me. However, my concern has always been that there is a likely scenario where I might refactor the notebooks directory into subdirectories, requiring to change the module_path in every notebook. I decided to add a python file within each notebook directory to import the required modules.

Thus, having the following project structure:

export is a Bash builtin, echo is an executable in your $PATH. So export is interpreted by Bash as is, without spawning a new process.

You need to get Bash to interpret your command, which you can pass as a string with the -c option:

Each invocation of bash -c starts with a fresh environment. So something like:

will not work. The second invocation does not remember foo.

VB6/VBA uses deterministic approach to destoying objects. Each object stores number of references to itself. When the number reaches zero, the object is destroyed.

Object variables are guaranteed to be cleaned (set to Nothing) when they go out of scope, this decrements the reference counters in their respective objects. No manual action required.

There are only two cases when you want an explicit cleanup:

  1. When you want an object to be destroyed before its variable goes out of scope (e.g., your procedure is going to take long time to execute, and the object holds a resource, so you want to destroy the object as soon as possible to release the resource).

  2. When you have a circular reference between two or more objects.

    If objectA stores a references to objectB, and objectB stores a reference to objectA, the two objects will never get destroyed unless you brake the chain by explicitly setting objectA.ReferenceToB = Nothing or objectB.ReferenceToA = Nothing.

The code snippet you show is wrong. No manual cleanup is required. It is even harmful to do a manual cleanup, as it gives you a false sense of more correct code.

If you have a variable at a class level, it will be cleaned/destroyed when the class instance is destructed. You can destroy it earlier if you want (see item 1.).

If you have a variable at a module level, it will be cleaned/destroyed when your program exits (or, in case of VBA, when the VBA project is reset). You can destroy it earlier if you want (see item 1.).

Access level of a variable (public vs. private) does not affect its life time.

One place I found the solution was in the way I was setting the list to the adapter. In my activity the list was a instance variable and I was changing it directly when any data changed. Reference alias (calculated in SELECT) in WHERE clause

You can't reference an alias except in ORDER BY because SELECT is the second last clause that's evaluated. Two workarounds:

Or just repeat the expression:

I prefer the latter. If the expression is extremely complex (or costly to calculate) you should probably consider a computed column (and perhaps persisted) instead, especially if a lot of queries refer to this same expression.

PS your fears seem unfounded. In this simple example at least, SQL Server is smart enough to only perform the calculation once, even though you've referenced it twice. Go ahead and compare the plans; you'll see they're identical. If you have a more complex case where you see the expression evaluated multiple times, please post the more complex query and the plans.

Here are 5 example queries that all yield the exact same execution plan:

SQL Not Like Statement not working

Just come across this, the answer is simple, use ISNULL. SQL won't return rows if the field you are testing has no value (in some of the records) when doing a text comparison search, eg:

WHERE wpp.comment NOT LIKE '%CORE%'

So, you have temporarily substitute a value in the null (empty) records by using the ISNULL command, eg

WHERE (ISNULL(wpp.comment,'')) NOT LIKE '%CORE%'

This will then show all your records that have nulls and omit any that have your matching criteria. If you wanted, you could put something in the commas to help you remember, eg

WHERE (ISNULL(wpp.comment,'some_records_have_no_value')) NOT LIKE '%CORE%'

You want something more like this:

In your example, you are not actually including TableD. All you have to do is perform another join just like you have done before.

A note: you will notice that I removed many of your parentheses, as they really are not necessary in most of the cases you had them, and only add confusion when trying to read the code. Proper nesting is the best way to make your code readable and separated out.

But your Dictionary could contains IEnumerable<Component> instead of List<Component>, and then you cant use the [] operator. That is where the difference is huge.

No, UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter extends AbstractAuthenticationProcessingFilter, and this contains a RequestMatcher, that means you can define your own processing url, this filter only handle the RequestMatcher matches the request url, the default processing url is /login.

Later filters can still handle the request, if the UsernamePasswordAuthenticationFilter executes chain.doFilter(request, response);.

How to handle screen orientation change when progress dialog and background thread active?

I have an implementation which allows the activity to be destroyed on a screen orientation change, but still destroys the dialog in the recreated activity successfully. I use ...NonConfigurationInstance to attach the background task to the recreated activity. The normal Android framework handles recreating the dialog itself, nothing is changed there.

I subclassed AsyncTask adding a field for the 'owning' activity, and a method to update this owner.

Suggestions for further improvement:

  • Clear the backgroundTask reference in the activity after the task is finished to release any memory or other resources associated with it.
  • Clear the ownerActivity reference in the backgroundtask before the activity is destroyed in case it will not be recreated immediately.
  • Create a BackgroundTask interface and/or collection to allow different types of tasks to run from the same owning activity.

Flask at first run: Do not use the development server in a production environment

Unless you tell the development server that it's running in development mode, it will assume you're using it in production and warn you not to. The development server is not intended for use in production. It is not designed to be particularly efficient, stable, or secure.

Enable development mode by setting the FLASK_ENV environment variable to development.

$ flask run

If you're running in PyCharm (or probably any other IDE) you can set environment variables in the run configuration.

Development mode enables the debugger and reloader by default. If you don't want these, pass --no-debugger or --no-reloader to the run command.


That warning is just a warning though, it's not an error preventing your app from running. If your app isn't working, there's something else wrong with your code.

SQL Server Service not available in service list after installation of SQL Server Management Studio

downloaded Sql server management 2008 r2 and got it installed. Its getting installed but when I try to connect it via .\SQLEXPRESS it shows error. DO I need to install any SQL service on my system?

You installed management studio which is just a management interface to SQL Server. If you didn't (which is what it seems like) already have SQL Server installed, you'll need to install it in order to have it on your system and use it.

After reading all this and trying to fix it, I got a simple solution on ubuntu forum (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ApacheMySQLPHP). The problem lies with libapache2-mod-php5 module. Thats why the browser downloads the index.php file rather than showing the web page. Do the following. If sudo a2enmod php5 returns module does not exist then the problem is with libapache2-mod-php5. Purge remove the module with command sudo apt-get --purge remove libapache2-mod-php5 Then install it again sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5

If that isn't working, maybe try platform.win32_ver and if it doesn't raise an exception, you're on Windows; but I don't know if that's forward compatible to 64-bit, since it has 32 in the name.

Angular, content type is not being sent with $http

You need to include a body with the request. Angular removes the content-type header otherwise.

Add data: '' to the argument to $http.
