A .tex file should be a LaTeX source file.

If this is the case, that file contains the source code for a LaTeX document. You can open it with any text editor (notepad, notepad++ should work) and you can view the source code. But if you want to view the final formatted document, you need to install a LaTeX distribution and compile the .tex file.

Of course, any program can write any file with any extension, so if this is not a LaTeX document, then we can't know what software you need to install to open it. Maybe if you upload the file somewhere and link it in your question we can see the file and provide more help to you.

Yes, this is the source code of a LaTeX document. If you were able to paste it here, then you are already viewing it. If you want to view the compiled document, you need to install a LaTeX distribution. You can try to install MiKTeX then you can use that to compile the document to a .pdf file.

As with C, ultimately, everything is passed by value. Unlike C, you can't actually back up and pass the location of a variable, because it doesn't have pointers, just references.

And the references it has are all to objects, not variables. There are several ways of achieving the same result, but they have to be done by hand, not just adding a keyword at either the call or declaration site.

Get into the habit of checking if a variable is available with isset, e.g.

You could disable notice reporting, but dealing them is good hygiene, and can allow you to spot problems you might otherwise miss.

Just in case it helps someone, since these questions (and answers) helped me really much; I decided to create an alias that runs these 4 commands in a row:

Just add the following line to your ~/.bashrc file (modify the main keyword accordingly to the name of your .tex and .bib files)

alias texbib = 'pdflatex main.tex && bibtex main && pdflatex main.tex && pdflatex main.tex'

And now, by just executing the texbib command (alias), all these commands will be executed sequentially.

Just (temporarily) killed my Macbook with

killall -u pu -m .

where pu is my userid. Watch the dot at the end of the command.

This is the case which can be used where element is having 2 attribute and we can get the one attribute with the help of another one.

This works on SQL Server 2008/2012/2014. Most of query comes from "sp_databases" system stored procedure. I only removed unneeded column and added where conditions.

I personally think that the if/then/else needs to be linked somehow.

If you are after the side effects that happen within the loop, I'd personally go for the range() approach.

If you care about the result of whatever functions you call within the loop, I'd go for a list comprehension or map approach. Something like this:

Under Centos7 64 bit the issue is that some 32 bit libraries did not exist. To fix this I need to add:

This expression,

It's a really weird issue and I am posting this after wasting my 2 hours.

You installed Python and added it to PATH. You've checked it too(like 64-bit etc). Everything should work but it is not.

what you didn't do is a terminal/cmd restart

restart your terminal and everything would work like a charm.

The answer to your why you can't call $email variable into your mail sending function. You need to call $user variable then you can write your desired variable as $user->variable

I prefer passing a delimited string which I parse later in the script. The reasons for this are; the list can be of any type int or str, and sometimes using nargs I run into problems if there are multiple optional arguments and positional arguments.

Maybe it has nothing to do here, but it could be useful for someone.
I installed jdk on: D:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_06\bin
So I added it to %PATH% variable and checked it on cmd and everything was ok, but Eclipse kept showing me that error.
I used quotation marks on %PATH% so it reads something like:

There are new methods added to java.util.Arrays to convert an array into a Java 8 stream which can then be used for summing etc.

Multiplying two arrays is a little more difficult because I can't think of a way to get the value AND the index at the same time as a Stream operation. This means you probably have to stream over the indexes of the array.

The error was situated in this line :

To fix it, change to :

printf("%d", (*c));

The * retrieves the value from an address. The ** retrieves the value (an address in this case) of an other value from an address.

In addition, the () was optional.

Flatmap and Map both transforms the collection.

Difference:

map(func)
Return a new distributed dataset formed by passing each element of the source through a function func.

flatMap(func)
Similar to map, but each input item can be mapped to 0 or more output items (so func should return a Seq rather than a single item).

The transformation function:
map: One element in -> one element out.
flatMap: One element in -> 0 or more elements out (a collection).

Aloha from 2018. Unfortunately, I don't have anything cool or futuristic to share with you.

I did however want to point out to those who have commented that the jQuery load() method isn't working in the present are probably trying to use the method with local files without running a local web server. Doing so will throw the above mentioned "cross origin" error, which specifies that cross origin requests such as that made by the load method are only supported for protocol schemes like http, data, or https. (I'm assuming that you're not making an actual cross-origin request, i.e the header.html file is actually on the same domain as the page you're requesting it from)

So, if the accepted answer above isn't working for you, please make sure you're running a web server. The quickest and simplest way to do that if you're in a rush (and using a Mac, which has Python pre-installed) would be to spin up a simple Python http server. You can see how easy it is to do that here.

A good way to avoid loading multiple CSS files or to have inline CSS is to hand a class to the body tag depending on the version of Internet Explorer. If you only need general IE hacks, you can do something like this, but it can be extended to be version specific:

The X-Frame-Options header is a security feature enforced at the browser level.

If you have control over your user base (IT dept for corp app), you could try something like a greasemonkey script (if you can a) deploy greasemonkey across everyone and b) deploy your script in a shared way)...

Alternatively, you can proxy their result. Create an endpoint on your server, and have that endpoint open a connection to the target endpoint, and simply funnel traffic backwards.

Just for completeness, you can get a list of kernels with jupyter kernelspec list, but I ran into a case where one of the kernels did not show up in this list. The ideal method would be to pass it with an AJAX call, but for a quick and dirty method, all you'd have to do is reload the page with this variable in a $_GET parameter -

In the config file, change the "host" variable to point to the external server. The config file is called config.inc.php and it will be in the main phpMyAdmin folder. There should be a line like this:

Just change localhost to your server's IP address.

Note: you may have to configure the external server to allow remote connections, but I've done this several times on shared hosting so it should be fine.

IMHO, setting the height to a fixed number is rarely a useful thing to do. Setting it to whatever space is available on the screen is much more useful.

I made this for select2 3.5. I didn't test it with 4.0, but from the documentation is will probably work for 4.0 as well.

Use the Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileIO.TextFieldParser class. This will handle parsing a delimited file, TextReader or Stream where some fields are enclosed in quotes and some are not.

This is how to install a normal MSI file silently:

Quick explanation:

 /L*V "C:\Temp\msilog.log"= verbose logging at indicated path
 /QN = run completely silently
 /i = run install sequence 

The msiexec.exe command line is extensive with support for a variety of options. Here is another overview of the same command line interface. Here is an annotated versions (was broken, resurrected via way back machine).

It is also possible to make a batch file a lot shorter with constructs such as for loops as illustrated here for Windows Updates.

If there are check boxes that must be checked during the setup, you must find the appropriate PUBLIC PROPERTIES attached to the check box and set it at the command line like this:

These properties are different in each MSI. You can find them via the verbose log file or by opening the MSI in Orca, or another appropriate tool. You must look either in the dialog control section or in the Property table for what the property name is. Try running the setup and create a verbose log file first and then search the log for messages ala "Setting property..." and then see what the property name is there. Then add this property with the value from the log file to the command line.

It's funny I spend the day investigating possibility to solve the same case. I found that it not possible doing this way:

To start with we have created a variable $style to set if we want the options in a horizontal or vertical way. This will infrequence how we display our checkboxes. Next we set the $name for our options, this is needed as a name of the array where we want to keep our options. I have created a loop here to construct each option as given in the array $options, then we check each item if it should be checked in our returned form. I believe this should simplify the way we can reproduce a form with checkboxes.

If you are processing the cell's value then reading the raw .Value2 is marginally faster than .Value or .Text. If you are locating errors then .Text will return something like #N/A as text and can be compared to a string while .Value and .Value2 will choke comparing their returned value to a string. If you have some custom cell formatting applied to your data then .Text may be the better choice when building a report.

I had a user control which sat on page in a free form way, not constrained by another container, and the contents within the user control would not auto size but expand to the full size of what the user control was handed.

Let's say you want to build: u(n+1)=f(u(n)) with u(0)=u0

One solution is to define a simple recursive function:

u0 = ...

Unfortunately, if you want to calculate high values of u, you will run into a stack overflow error.

Another solution is a simple loop:

  for i in xrange(n):

But if you want multiple values of u for different values of n, this is suboptimal. You could cache all values in an array, but you may run into an out of memory error. You may want to use generators instead:

There are many other options, but I guess these are the main ones.

You can just use git diff to produce a unified diff suitable for git apply:

I often have this problem with sequences (as opposed to discrete values). If I have a sequence of ints, and I want to SUM them, when the list is empty I'll receive the error "InvalidOperationException: The null value cannot be assigned to a member with type System.Int32 which is a non-nullable value type.".

I find I can solve this by casting the sequence to a nullable type. SUM and the other aggregate operators don't throw this error if a sequence of nullable types is empty.

So for example something like this

MySum = MyTable.Where(x => x.SomeCondtion).Sum(x => x.AnIntegerValue);

becomes

MySum = MyTable.Where(x => x.SomeCondtion).Sum(x => (int?) x.AnIntegerValue);

The second one will return 0 when no rows match the where clause. (the first one throws an exception when no rows match).

Right I have the exact same error inside MacOSX SourceTree, however, inside a iTerm2 terminal, things work just dandy.

However, the problem seemed to be that I've got two ssh-agents running ;(

The first being /usr/bin/ssh-agent (aka MacOSX's) and then also the HomeBrew installed /usr/local/bin/ssh-agent running.

Firing up a terminal from SourceTree, allowed me to see the differences in SSH_AUTH_SOCK, using lsof I found the two different ssh-agents and then I was able to load the keys (using ssh-add) into the system's default ssh-agent (ie. /usr/bin/ssh-agent), SourceTree was working again.

it looks like LINQ is generally slower than foreach(...) but what is weird for me is that foreach(...) appears to be faster than for loop.

Is the Config/setup.php file actually in /test/content/home/ or is in your document root? it is best to make all references relative to your document root.

If you want to pass the data using POST instead of GET, you can do it using a combination of PHP and JavaScript, like this:

You don't tend to execute the make file itself, rather you execute make, giving it the make file as an argument:

make -f pax.mk

If your make file is actually one of the standard names (like makefile or Makefile), you don't even need to specify it. It'll be picked up by default (if you have more than one of these standard names in your build directory, you better look up the make man page to see which takes precedence).

For my project, I am set up to use https. I just got a new computer and cloned the project in git. The protocol and port number for the project are not saved in the solution file, so you have to make sure to set it again.

Java doesn't natively allow building of an exe, that would defeat its purpose of being cross-platform.

AFAIK, these are your options:

1. Make a runnable JAR. If the system supports it and is configured appropriately, in a GUI, double clicking the JAR will launch the app. Another option would be to write a launcher shell script/batch file which will start your JAR with the appropriate parameters

I think most people don't like building the latest git on CentOS because the dependencies will contaminate the host and you have to run lots of commands. Therefore, I have an idea which is building git inside the Docker container and then install the executable via the docker volume mount. After that, you can delete the image and container.

Yes, the downside is you have to install docker. But the least dependencies are introduced to the host and you don't have to install other yum repo.

Assuming a table structure of an integer ID and a blob DATA column, and assuming MySQL functions are being used to interface with the database, you could probably do something like this:

A word of warning though, storing blobs in databases is generally not considered to be the best idea as it can cause table bloat and has a number of other problems associated with it. A better approach would be to move the file somewhere in the filesystem where it can be retrieved, and store the path to the file in the database instead of the file itself.

Also, using mysql_* function calls is discouraged as those methods are effectively deprecated and aren't really built with versions of MySQL newer than 4.x in mind. You should switch to mysqli or PDO instead.

UPDATE: mysql_* functions are deprecated in PHP 5.x and are REMOVED COMPLETELY IN PHP 7! You now have no choice but to switch to a more modern Database Abstraction (MySQLI, PDO). I've decided to leave the original answer above intact for historical reasons but don't actually use it

Unique views is always a hard nut to crack. Checking the IP might work, but an IP can be shared by more than one user. A cookie could be a viable option, but a cookie can expire or be modified by the client.

In your case, it don't seem to be a big issue if the cookie is modified tho, so i would recommend using a cookie in a case like this. When the page is loaded, check if there is a cookie, if there is not, create one and add a +1 to views. If it is set, don't do the +1.

Set the cookies expiration date to whatever you want it to be, week or day if that's what you want, and it will expire after that time. After expiration, it will be a unique user again!

Since around the end of 2016 a IP address (static or dynamic) is seen as personal data in the EU.
That means that you are only allowed to store a IP address with a good reason (and I'm not sure if tracking views is a good reason). So if you intend to store the IP address of visitors, I would recommend hashing or encrypting it with a algorithm which can not be reversed, to make sure that you are not breaching any law (especially after the GDPR laws have been implemented).

Before you lose more time solving the problem, like me, try just to restart your windows machine. Worked for me after applying all the other solutions.

POD Install

[ 1 ] Open terminal and type:

sudo gem install cocoapods

Gem will get installed in Ruby inside System library. Or try on 10.11 Mac OSX El Capitan, type:

sudo gem install -n /usr/local/bin cocoapods

If there is an error "activesupport requires Ruby version >= 2.xx", then install latest activesupport first by typing in terminal.

sudo gem install activesupport -v 4.2.6

[ 2 ] After installation, there will be a lot of messages, read them and if no error found, it means cocoapods installation is done. Next, you need to setup the cocoapods master repo. Type in terminal:

pod setup

And wait it will download the master repo. The size is very big (370.0MB at Dec 2016). So it can be a while. You can track of the download by opening Activity and goto Network tab and search for git-remote-https. Alternatively you can try adding verbose to the command like so:

pod setup --verbose

[ 3 ] Once done it will output "Setup Complete", and you can create your Xcode project and save it.

[ 4 ] Then in terminal cd to your Xcode project root directory (where your .xcodeproj file resides) and type:

pod init

[ 5 ] Then open your project's podfile by typing in terminal:

When you are done editing the podfile, save it and close Xcode.

There is a subtlety about the use of nested static classes that might be useful in certain situations.

Whereas static attributes get instantiated before the class gets instantiated via its constructor, static attributes inside of nested static classes don't seem to get instantiated until after the class's constructor gets invoked, or at least not until after the attributes are first referenced, even if they are marked as 'final'.

Even though 'nested' and 'innerItem' are both declared as 'static final'. the setting of nested.innerItem doesn't take place until after the class is instantiated (or at least not until after the nested static item is first referenced), as you can see for yourself by commenting and uncommenting the lines that I refer to, above. The same does not hold true for 'outerItem'.

At least this is what I'm seeing in Java 6.0.

I know this isn't adding much to the conversation at this point but I'm running a file generation procedure and its going incredibly slow. I've been using replicate and saw this trim method and figured I'd give it a shot.

You can see in my code where the switch between the two is in addition to the new @padding variable (and the limitation that now exists). I ran my procedure with the function in both states with the same results in execution time. So at least in SQLServer2016, I'm not seeing any difference in efficiency that other found.

Anyways, here's my UDF that I wrote years ago plus the changes today which is much the same as other's other than it has a LEFT/RIGHT param option and some error checking.

At the time of writing this answer, there was no method to embed which let the user navigate inside folders and view the files without her leaving the website (the method in other answers, makes everything open in a new tab on google drive website), so I made my own tool for it. To embed a drive, paste the iframe code below in your HTML:

3.) Search for 'Google Drive API', enable it. Then go to "credentials' tab, and create credentials. Keep your API key unrestricted.

4.) Copy the newly generated API key.

To get the folder ID:

1.)Go to the google drive folder you want to embed (for example, drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1v7cGug_e3lNT0YjhvtYrwKV7dGY-Nyh5u [this is not a real folder]) Ensure that the folder is publicly shared and visible to anyone.

2.) Copy the part after 'folders/', this is your folder ID.

Now put both the API key and folder id in the above code and embed.

Note: To hide the download button for files, add '&allowdl=no' at the end of the iframe's src URL.

It is for optimization reasons.

range() will create a list of values from start to end (0 .. 20 in your example). This will become an expensive operation on very large ranges.

xrange() on the other hand is much more optimised. it will only compute the next value when needed (via an xrange sequence object) and does not create a list of all values like range() does.

From my experience, the most efficient way to flatten a list of lists is:

Key words and unquoted identifiers are case insensitive. Therefore:

can equivalently be written as:

You could also write it using quoted identifiers:

Quoting an identifier makes it case-sensitive, whereas unquoted names are always folded to lower case (unlike the SQL standard where unquoted names are folded to upper case). For example, the identifiers FOO, foo, and "foo" are considered the same by PostgreSQL, but "Foo" and "FOO" are different from these three and each other.

Shortly: gene_name[x] is a mutable object so it cannot be hashed. To use an object as a key in a dictionary, python needs to use its hash value, and that's why you get an error.

Further explanation:

Mutable objects are objects which value can be changed. For example, list is a mutable object, since you can append to it. int is an immutable object, because you can't change it. When you do:

a = 5;
a = 3;

You don't change the value of a, you create a new object and make a point to its value.

Mutable objects cannot be hashed. See this answer.

To solve your problem, you should use immutable objects as keys in your dictionary. For example: tuple, string, int.

I believe that there is some confusion here. The significant difference between cookie based authentication and what is now possible with HTML5 Web Storage is that browsers are built to send cookie data whenever they are requesting resources from the domain that set them. You can't prevent that without turning off cookies. Browsers do not send data from Web Storage unless code in the page sends it. And pages can only access data that they stored, not data stored by other pages.

So, a user worried about the way that their cookie data might be used by Google or Facebook might turn off cookies. But, they have less reason to turn off Web Storage (until the advertisers figure a way to use that as well).

So, that's the difference between cookie based and token based, the latter uses Web Storage.

Alternatively, you can use XPath query via XPathSelectElements method:

May be useful for someone.. In Run as if you are getting only java application (No spring bootapp).. then probably you need to install "Spring Tools (aka Spring IDE and Spring Tool Suite)" through Eclipse market place. After successful installation and restart of Eclipse.. now you can see in Run as "Spring Boot app".

If you are creating many graphs, you could be tired of typing for each graph the lines of code controlling for the size of the titles and texts. What I typically do is creating an object (of class "theme" "gg") that defines the desired theme characteristics. You can do that at the beginning of your code.

You can also remove rows and columns by feeding a vector of logical boolean values to the matrix. This handles the situation where you have multiple non-contiguous rows or non-contiguous columns that need to be deleted.

This coding technique is useful if you don't know in advance what rows or columns you need to remove. The rows_to_keep and cols_to_keep vectors can be calculated as appropriate by your code.

There are quite a few issues here.

Firstly, is var supposed to a variable has the value "home", "work" or "about"? Or did you mean to inspect actual property called "var"?

If var is supposed to be a variable that has a string value, please note that var is a reserved word in JavaScript and you will need to use another name, such as assoc_var.

If you meant to inspect the property called "var", then you simple need to put it inside of quotes.

Faced the same issue, another solution is to add default includes, this fixed the problem for me:

The problem is the tv.setText(text). The variable tv is probably null and you call the setText method on that null, which you can't. My guess that the problem is on the findViewById method, but it's not here, so I can't tell more, without the code.

I had a similar problem.

I think the problem is that when you try to enclose two or more functions that deals with an array type of variable, php will return an error.

Let's say for example this one.

The TryParse method allows you to test whether something is parseable. If you try Parse as in the first instance with an invalid int, you'll get an exception while in the TryParse, it returns a boolean letting you know whether the parse succeeded or not.

so thats it, you can also bind the command in the xaml file and find the window with FindAncestor and bind it to the command parameter.

The document and window are different objects and they have some different events. Using addEventListener() on them listens to events destined for a different object. You should use the one that actually has the event you are interested in.

For example, there is a "resize" event on the window object that is not on the document object.

For example, the "DOMContentLoaded" event is only on the document object.

So basically, you need to know which object receives the event you are interested in and use .addEventListener() on that particular object.

If you are listening to a propagated event (such as the click event), then you can listen for that event on either the document object or the window object. The only main difference for propagated events is in timing. The event will hit the document object before the window object since it occurs first in the hierarchy, but that difference is usually immaterial so you can pick either. I find it generally better to pick the closest object to the source of the event that meets your needs when handling propagated events. That would suggest that you pick document over window when either will work. But, I'd often move even closer to the source and use document.body or even some closer common parent in the document (if possible).

I came here because I was trying to do the same thing; I knew I had dupes in the source data but only wanted to update the target data and not add the dupes.

I think a MERGE works great here because you can UPDATE or DELETE things that are different and INSERT things that are missing.

I ended up doing this and it worked great. I use SSIS to loop through Excel files and load them into a "RAW" SQL table with dupes and all. Then I run a MERGE to merge the "raw" table with the production table. Then I TRUNCATE the "raw" table and move to the next Excel file.

Since I just went though a drag, I'll try to write the answer I'd have wished for two hours ago. This is for people who don't just want the copy&paste solution

First: Do you wonder why copying and pasting paths works for some people while it doesn't work for others?** The main reason, solutions differ are different python versions, 2.x or 3.x. There are actually distinct versions of virtualenv and virtualenvwrapper that work with either python 2 or 3. If you are on python 2 install like so:

sudo pip install virtualenvwrapper

If you are planning to use python 3 install the related python 3 versions

sudo pip3 install virtualenv
sudo pip3 install virtualenvwrapper

You've successfully installed the packages for your python version and are all set, right? Well, try it. Type workon into your terminal. Your terminal will not be able to find the command (workon is a command of virtualenvwrapper). Of course it won't. Workon is an executable that will only be available to you once you load/source the file virtualenvwrapper.sh. But the official installation guide has you covered on this one, right?. Just open your .bash_profile and insert the following, it says in the documentation:

Especially the command source /usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh seems helpful since the command seems to load/source the desired file virtualenvwrapper.sh that contains all the commands you want to work with like workon and mkvirtualenv. But yeah, no. When following the official installation guide, you are very likely to receive the error from the initial post: mkvirtualenv: command not found. Still no command is being found and you are still frustrated. So whats the problem here? The problem is that virtualenvwrapper.sh is not were you are looking for it right now. Short reminder ... you are looking here:

source /usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh

But there is a pretty straight forward way to finding the desired file. Just type

which virtualenvwrapper

to your terminal. This will search your PATH for the file, since it is very likely to be in some folder that is included in the PATH of your system.

If your system is very exotic, the desired file will hide outside of a PATH folder. In that case you can find the path to virtalenvwrapper.sh with the shell command find / -name virtualenvwrapper.sh

Your result may look something like this: /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.7/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh Congratulations. You have found your missing file!. Now all you have to do is changing one command in your .bash_profile. Just change:

source "/usr/local/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh"

to:

"/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/3.7/bin/virtualenvwrapper.sh"

Congratulations. Virtualenvwrapper does now work on your system. But you can do one more thing to enhance your solution. If you've found the file virtualenvwrapper.sh with the command which virtualenvwrapper.sh you know that it is inside of a folder of the PATH. So if you just write the filename, your file system will assume the file is inside of a PATH folder. So you you don't have to write out the full path. Just type:

source "virtualenvwrapper.sh"

Thats it. You are no longer frustrated. You have solved your problem. Hopefully.

These three commands have entirely different purposes. They are not even remotely similar.

git revert

This command creates a new commit that undoes the changes from a previous commit. This command adds new history to the project (it doesn't modify existing history).

git checkout

This command checks-out content from the repository and puts it in your work tree. It can also have other effects, depending on how the command was invoked. For instance, it can also change which branch you are currently working on. This command doesn't make any changes to the history.

git reset

This command is a little more complicated. It actually does a couple of different things depending on how it is invoked. It modifies the index (the so-called "staging area"). Or it changes which commit a branch head is currently pointing at. This command may alter existing history (by changing the commit that a branch references).

Using these commands

If a commit has been made somewhere in the project's history, and you later decide that the commit is wrong and should not have been done, then git revert is the tool for the job. It will undo the changes introduced by the bad commit, recording the "undo" in the history.

If you have modified a file in your working tree, but haven't committed the change, then you can use git checkout to checkout a fresh-from-repository copy of the file.

If you have made a commit, but haven't shared it with anyone else and you decide you don't want it, then you can use git reset to rewrite the history so that it looks as though you never made that commit.

These are just some of the possible usage scenarios. There are other commands that can be useful in some situations, and the above three commands have other uses as well.

The solutions above using structuring do suffer from the fact that you have an used variable, which might cause complaints from ESLint if you're using that.

I just wanted to give an alternative way to split a string with multiple delimiters, in case you are using a SQL Server version under 2016.

The general idea is to split out all of the characters in the string, determine the position of the delimiters, then obtain substrings relative to the delimiters. Here is a sample:

Nope, no difference. It's just syntactic sugar. Arrays.asList(..) creates an additional list.

Java <= 6.x just allows you to catch one exception for each catch block:

try {

} catch (ExceptionType name) {

For Java 7 you can have multiple Exception caught on one catch block:

Code Explained:

The first CSS rule checks for empty td's and give them a width of 50px then the second rule give the padding of top and bottom to all the td's.

The problem is that the base class foo has no parameterless constructor. So you must call constructor of the base class with parameters from constructor of the derived class:

join takes an iterable thing as an argument. Usually it's a list. The problem in your case is that a string is itself iterable, giving out each character in turn. Your code breaks down to this:

"wlfgALGbXOahekxSs".join("595")

which acts the same as this:

"wlfgALGbXOahekxSs".join(["5", "9", "5"])

and so produces your string:

"5wlfgALGbXOahekxSs9wlfgALGbXOahekxSs5"

Strings as iterables is one of the most confusing beginning issues with Python.

I printed form javascript to a Star Micronics Webprnt TSP 654ii thermal printer. This printer is a wired network printer and you can draw the content to a HTML canvas and make a HTTP request to print. The only caveat is that, this printer does not support HTTPS protocol yet, so you will get a mixed content warning in production. Contacted Star micronics support and they said, they are working on HTTPS support and soon a firmware upgrade will be available. Also, looks like Epson Omnilink TM-88V printer with TM-I will support javascript printing.

Based on @carlosfigueira 's answer, I looked further into WebClient's methods and found UploadValues, which is exactly what I want:

The key part is this:

client.UploadValues(someurl, "POST", reqparm)

It sends whatever verb I type in, and it also helps me create a properly url encoded form data, I just have to supply the parameters as a namevaluecollection.

You can concat the data in this way:

Try to see, if the service "SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)" it's started, this solved my problem.

json might not be the best choice for on-disk formats; The trouble it has with appending data is a good example of why this might be. Specifically, json objects have a syntax that means the whole object must be read and parsed in order to understand any part of it.

Fortunately, there are lots of other options. A particularly simple one is CSV; which is supported well by python's standard library. The biggest downside is that it only works well for text; it requires additional action on the part of the programmer to convert the values to numbers or other formats, if needed.

Another option which does not have this limitation is to use a sqlite database, which also has built-in support in python. This would probably be a bigger departure from the code you already have, but it more naturally supports the 'modify a little bit' model you are apparently trying to build.
