PyCharm didn't catch this typo. Nor did Notepad++ (other editors/IDE's might).

Granted, this is a "takes no parameters" TypeError, it isn't much different than "got two" when expecting one, in terms of object initialization in Python.

Addressing the topic: An overloading initializer will be used if syntactically correct, but if not it will be ignored and the built-in used instead. The object won't expect/handle this and the error is thrown.

In the case of the sytax error: The fix is simple, just edit the custom init statement:

To display autocomplete list we first need an attribute directive that will return the list of suggestions based on the input text and then display them in a dropdown. The directive has 2 options to display the list:

1. Obtain a reference to the nativeElement and manipulate the DOM directly
2. Dynamically load a list component using DynamicComponentLoader

It looks to me that 2nd way is a better choice as it uses angular 2 core mechanisms instead of bypassing them by working directly with the DOM and therefore I'll use this method.

The accepted convention of passing C-strings to functions is to use a pointer:

void function(char* name)

When the function modifies the string you should also pass in the length:

void function(char* name, size_t name_length)

Your first example:

char *functionname(char *string name[256])

passes an array of pointers to strings which is not what you need at all.

Your second example:

char functionname(char string[256])

passes an array of chars. The size of the array here doesn't matter and the parameter will decay to a pointer anyway, so this is equivalent to:

char functionname(char *string)

One way to do that is to set the cascade option on you "One" side of relationship:

One convention is to end directory paths with / (e.g. /home/) because paths starting with a / could be confused with the root directory. If a double slash (//) is used in a path, it is also still correct. But, if no slash is used on either variable, it would be incorrect (e.g. /home/user1/MyFoldersubFold1).

If you need a solution that will "just work", pack a bare-bones version of php with your project in a WinRar SFX archive, set it to extract everything to a temporary directory and execute php your_script.php.

To run a basic script, the only files required are php.exe and php5.dll (or php5ts.dll depending on version).

To add extensions, pack them along with a php.ini file:

Yes, there's a command git commit --amend which is used to "fix" last commit.

In your case it would be called as:

git add the_left_out_file
git commit --amend --no-edit

The --no-edit flag allow to make amendment to commit without changing commit message.

EDIT: Warning You should never amend public commits, that you already pushed to public repository, because what amend does is actually removing from history last commit and creating new commit with combined changes from that commit and new added when amending.

Because NULL means 'unknown value' and two unknown values cannot be equal.

I didn't know the existing sa password so this is what I did:

1. Open Services in Control Panel

2. Find the "SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS)" entry and select properties

3. Stop the service

4. Enter "-m" at the beginning of the "Start parameters" fields. If there are other parameters there already add a semi-colon after -m;

5. Start the service

6. Open a Command Prompt

Enter the command:

osql -S YourPcName\SQLEXPRESS -E

(change YourPcName to whatever your PC is called).

7. At the prompt type the following commands:

alter login sa enable
go
sp_password NULL,'new_password','sa'
go
quit

8. Stop the "SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS)" service

9. Remove the "-m" from the Start parameters field

10. Start the service

bit will be the simplest and also takes up the least space. Not very verbose compared to "Y/N" but I am fine with it.

I copied the contents of the "C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 6.0\conf" directory to the "workspace\Servers\Tomcat v6.0 Server at localhost-config" directory for Eclipse. I refreshed the "Servers\Tomcat v6.0 Server at localhost-config" folder in the Eclipse Project Explorer and then everything was good.

fields() and fieldNames() both were not working for me. And I had to spend quite sometime to find a way to iterate over the keys. There are two ways by which it can be done.

As said before, VBA does not support Multithreading.

But you don't need to use C# or vbScript to start other VBA worker threads.

I use VBA to create VBA worker threads.

First copy the makro workbook for every thread you want to start.

Then you can start new Excel Instances (running in another Thread) simply by creating an instance of Excel.Application (to avoid errors i have to set the new application to visible).

To actually run some task in another thread i can then start a makro in the other application with parameters form the master workbook.

To return to the master workbook thread without waiting i simply use Application.OnTime in the worker thread (where i need it).

As semaphore i simply use a collection that is shared with all threads. For callbacks pass the master workbook to the worker thread. There the runMakroInOtherInstance Function can be reused to start a callback.

The syntax is token-level, so the meaning of the dollar sign depends on the token it's in. The expression $(command) is a modern synonym for `command` which stands for command substitution; it means run command and put its output here. So

will run the date command and include its output in the argument to echo. The parentheses are unrelated to the syntax for running a command in a subshell, although they have something in common (the command substitution also runs in a separate subshell).

By contrast, ${variable} is just a disambiguation mechanism, so you can say ${var}text when you mean the contents of the variable var, followed by text (as opposed to $vartext which means the contents of the variable vartext).

The while loop expects a single argument which should evaluate to true or false (or actually multiple, where the last one's truth value is examined -- thanks Jonathan Leffler for pointing this out); when it's false, the loop is no longer executed. The for loop iterates over a list of items and binds each to a loop variable in turn; the syntax you refer to is one (rather generalized) way to express a loop over a range of arithmetic values.

A for loop like that can be rephrased as a while loop. The expression

is equivalent to

It makes sense to keep all the loop control in one place for legibility; but as you can see when it's expressed like this, the for loop does quite a bit more than the while loop.

I created a new directive, rpattern, that is a mix of Angular's ng-required and the ng-pattern code from input[type=text]. What it does is watch the required attribute of the field and take that into account when validating with regexp, i.e. if not required mark field as valid-pattern.

Notes

• Most of the code is from Angular, tailored to the needs of this.
• When the checkbox is checked, the field is required.
• The field is not hidden when the required checkbox is false.
• The regular expression is simplified for the demo (valid is 3 digits).

A dirty (but smaller) solution, if you do not want a new directive, would be something like:

seems you can't find the full path in you localhost by js, but you can hide the fakepath to just show the file name. Use jQuery to get the file input's selected filename without the path

I just came across this question in a search about destructors and I thought there was an unanswered part of your question in your comments, so I thought I would address that.

thank you guys. But what would be a good convention if ECMAScript doesn't have destructors? Should I create a method called destructor and call it manually when I'm done with the object? Any other idea?

If you want to tell your object that you are now done with it and it should specifically release any event listeners it has, then you can just create an ordinary method for doing that. You can call the method something like release() or deregister() or unhook() or anything of that ilk. The idea is that you're telling the object to disconnect itself from anything else it is hooked up to (deregister event listeners, clear external object references, etc...). You will have to call it manually at the appropriate time.

If, at the same time you also make sure there are no other references to that object, then your object will become eligible for garbage collection at that point.

ES6 does have weakMap and weakSet which are ways of keeping track of a set of objects that are still alive without affecting when they can be garbage collected, but it does not provide any sort of notification when they are garbage collected. They just disappear from the weakMap or weakSet at some point (when they are GCed).

FYI, the issue with this type of destructor you ask for (and probably why there isn't much of a call for it) is that because of garbage collection, an item is not eligible for garbage collection when it has an open event handler against a live object so even if there was such a destructor, it would never get called in your circumstance until you actually removed the event listeners. And, once you've removed the event listeners, there's no need for the destructor for this purpose.

I suppose there's a possible weakListener() that would not prevent garbage collection, but such a thing does not exist either.

FYI, here's another relevant question Why is the object destructor paradigm in garbage collected languages pervasively absent?. This discussion covers finalizer, destructor and disposer design patterns. I found it useful to see the distinction between the three.

There is a Stage 3 EMCAScript proposal to add a user-defined finalizer function after an object is garbage collected.

A canonical example of something that would benefit from a feature like this is an object that contains a handle to an open file. If the object is garbage collected (because no other code still has a reference to it), then this finalizer scheme allows one to at least put a message to the console that an external resource has just been leaked and code elsewhere should be fixed to prevent this leak.

If you read the proposal thoroughly, you will see that it's nothing like a full-blown destructor in a language like C++. This finalizer is called after the object has already been destroyed and you have to predetermine what part of the instance data needs to be passed to the finalizer for it to do its work. Further, this feature is not meant to be relied upon for normal operation, but rather as a debugging aid and as a backstop against certain types of bugs. You can read the full explanation for these limitations in the proposal.

I'm surprised that the realpath command hasn't been mentioned here. My understanding is that it is widely portable / ported.

String truncatedValue = String.format("%f", percentageValue).split("\\.")[0]; solves the purpose

The problem is two fold-

1. To retain the integral (mathematical integer) part of the double. Hence can't typecast (int) percentageValue
2. Truncate (and not round) the decimal part. Hence can't use String.format("%.0f", percentageValue) or new java.text.DecimalFormat("#").format(percentageValue) as both of these round the decimal part.

What you've done doesn't work because you're binding an event to a function. As such, it's the event which defines the parameters that will be called when the event is raised (i.e. JavaScript doesn't know about your parameter in the function you've bound to onclick so can't pass anything into it).

I'm surprised there are no ulimit answers here. Every time I have this problem I end up here or here. I understand this solution has limitations but ulimit -s 65536 seems to often do the trick for me.

This is the most obvious solution that I use but just remember, if the username / password for both the database is exactly same in the same host, this solution will always be using the first connection. So don't be confused that this is not working in such case. What you need to do is, create 2 different users for the 2 databases and it will work.

Instead of a link in the bottom right corner of the Settings form, the delete button is moved to the top right corner, saying:

When you click on it, it will ask you for confirmation and move it to Trash Can.

I think it's interesting that @Pablo's sort_by{...}.reverse! is fastest. Before running the test I thought it would be slower than "-a[:bar]" but negating the value turns out to take longer than it does to reverse the entire array in one pass. It's not much of a difference, but every little speed-up helps.

Your second solution is probably the most correct. You should use the HTTP spec and mimetypes the way they were intended and upload the file via multipart/form-data. As far as handling the relationships, I'd use this process (keeping in mind I know zero about your assumptions or system design):

1. POST to /users to create the user entity.
2. POST the image to /images, making sure to return a Location header to where the image can be retrieved per the HTTP spec.
3. PATCH to /users/carPhoto and assign it the ID of the photo given in the Location header of step 2.

You don't import scripts in Python you import modules. Some python modules are also scripts that you can run directly (they do some useful work at a module-level).

In general it is preferable to use absolute imports rather than relative imports.

MSI is an installer file which installs your program on the executing system.

Setup.exe is an application (executable file) which has msi file(s) as its one of the resources. Executing Setup.exe will in turn execute msi (the installer) which writes your application to the system.

Edit (as suggested in comment): Setup executable files don't necessarily have an MSI resource internally

The first time you run the page, the query_age index doesn't exist because it hasn't been sent over from the form.

When you submit the form it will then exist, and it won't complain about it.

You could also try the following to add an inline style to the element:

The environment variable solution doesn't work for me running tensorflow 2.3.1. I assume by the comments in the github thread that the below solution works for versions >=2.1.0.

Importing the Single Table

To import a single table into an existing database you would use the following command:

This would be more open for future modification and separates out the responsibility for the first call to know about the second call.

The first call can simply complete and do it's own thing not having to be aware of any other logic you may want to add, leaving the coupling of the logic separated.

This is probably happening because your log4j configuration is set to ERROR. Look for a log4j.properties file with contents like the following:

The new ASP.NET Web API is a continuation of the previous WCF Web API project (although some of the concepts have changed).

WCF was originally created to enable SOAP-based services. For simpler RESTful or RPCish services (think clients like jQuery) ASP.NET Web API should be good choice.

For us, WCF is used for SOAP and Web API for REST. I wish Web API supported SOAP too. We are not using advanced features of WCF. Here is comparison from MSDN:

ASP.net Web API is all about HTTP and REST based GET,POST,PUT,DELETE with well know ASP.net MVC style of programming and JSON returnable; web API is for all the light weight process and pure HTTP based components. In the scenarios listed below you should go for WCF:

WEB API is a framework for developing RESTful/HTTP services.

There are so many clients that do not understand SOAP like Browsers, HTML5, in those cases WEB APIs are a good choice.

HTTP services header specifies how to secure service, how to cache the information, type of the message body and HTTP body can specify any type of content like HTML not just XML as SOAP services.

1. You seem to be including one C file from anther. #include should normally be used with header files only.

2. Within the definition of struct ast_node you refer to struct AST_NODE, which doesn't exist. C is case-sensitive.

Because JavaScript is handling the click event. When you click, the following code is called:

substr Return part of a string

Here's the signature of the substr function:

string substr ( string $string , int $start [, int $length ] )

The signature of the substring function (Java) looks a bit different:

string substring( int beginIndex, int endIndex )

substring (Java) expects the end-index as the last parameter, but substr (PHP) expects a length.

It's not hard, to get the desired length by the end-index in PHP:

As ping works, but telnetto port 80 does not, the HTTP port 80 is closed on your machine. I assume that your browser's HTTP connection goes through a proxy (as browsing works, how else would you read stackoverflow?). You need to add some code to your python program, that handles the proxy, like described here:

You're missing a FROM and you need to give the subquery an alias.

So, it will look for id="foo", and then will follow to name="foo"

I'm not sure about pull/fetch, but at least for the initial clone, this option was added together with an update to the remote protocol, and it truly prevents objects from being downloaded from the server.

E.g., to clone only objects required for d1 of this repository: https://github.com/cirosantilli/test-git-partial-clone I can do:

Implementation

In your source code, add ItemOffsetDecoration to your RecyclerView. Item offset value should be half size of the actual value you want to add as space between items.

The canvas spec doesn't give us a method for measuring the height of a string. However, you can set the size of your text in pixels and you can usually figure out what the vertical bounds are relatively easily.

If you need something more precise then you could throw text onto the canvas and then get pixel data and figure out how many pixels are used vertically. This would be relatively simple, but not very efficient. You could do something like this (it works, but draws some text onto your canvas that you would want to remove):

I found a caveat that no one so far has mentioned. I don't know if it will come up often in practical situations, but here it is for the sake of completeness.

Usually, calculating a number modulo infinity returns itself as a float, but a fraction modulo infinity returns nan (not a number). Here is an example:

Another approach (more words, less code) that may help:

The locations of local maxima and minima are also the locations of the zero crossings of the first derivative. It is generally much easier to find zero crossings than it is to directly find local maxima and minima.

Unfortunately, the first derivative tends to "amplify" noise, so when significant noise is present in the original data, the first derivative is best used only after the original data has had some degree of smoothing applied.

Since smoothing is, in the simplest sense, a low pass filter, the smoothing is often best (well, most easily) done by using a convolution kernel, and "shaping" that kernel can provide a surprising amount of feature-preserving/enhancing capability. The process of finding an optimal kernel can be automated using a variety of means, but the best may be simple brute force (plenty fast for finding small kernels). A good kernel will (as intended) massively distort the original data, but it will NOT affect the location of the peaks/valleys of interest.

Fortunately, quite often a suitable kernel can be created via a simple SWAG ("educated guess"). The width of the smoothing kernel should be a little wider than the widest expected "interesting" peak in the original data, and its shape will resemble that peak (a single-scaled wavelet). For mean-preserving kernels (what any good smoothing filter should be) the sum of the kernel elements should be precisely equal to 1.00, and the kernel should be symmetric about its center (meaning it will have an odd number of elements.

Given an optimal smoothing kernel (or a small number of kernels optimized for different data content), the degree of smoothing becomes a scaling factor for (the "gain" of) the convolution kernel.

Determining the "correct" (optimal) degree of smoothing (convolution kernel gain) can even be automated: Compare the standard deviation of the first derivative data with the standard deviation of the smoothed data. How the ratio of the two standard deviations changes with changes in the degree of smoothing cam be used to predict effective smoothing values. A few manual data runs (that are truly representative) should be all that's needed.

All the prior solutions posted above compute the first derivative, but they don't treat it as a statistical measure, nor do the above solutions attempt to performing feature preserving/enhancing smoothing (to help subtle peaks "leap above" the noise).

Finally, the bad news: Finding "real" peaks becomes a royal pain when the noise also has features that look like real peaks (overlapping bandwidth). The next more-complex solution is generally to use a longer convolution kernel (a "wider kernel aperture") that takes into account the relationship between adjacent "real" peaks (such as minimum or maximum rates for peak occurrence), or to use multiple convolution passes using kernels having different widths (but only if it is faster: it is a fundamental mathematical truth that linear convolutions performed in sequence can always be convolved together into a single convolution). But it is often far easier to first find a sequence of useful kernels (of varying widths) and convolve them together than it is to directly find the final kernel in a single step.

Hopefully this provides enough info to let Google (and perhaps a good stats text) fill in the gaps. I really wish I had the time to provide a worked example, or a link to one. If anyone comes across one online, please post it here!

My two cents: methods who spend their time changing from plural to singular or viceversa are a waste of CPU cycles. I may be old-school, but in my time like things were called the same. How do I look up methods concerning people? No regular expresion will cover both person and people without undesirable side effects.

English plurals can be very arbitrary and they encumber the code needlessly. Stick to one naming convention. Computer languages were supposed to be about mathematical clarity, not about mimicking natural language.

Create a list of namedtuples

It can often be very handy to use namedtuple. For example, you have a dictionary of 'name' as keys and 'score' as values like:

You can list the items as tuples, sorted if you like, and get the name and score of, let's say the player with the highest score (index=0) very Pythonically like this:

Although there is nothing wrong with the other solutions presented, you could simplify and greatly escalate your solutions by using python's excellent library pandas.

Pandas is a library for handling data in Python, preferred by many Data Scientists.

Pandas has a simplified CSV interface to read and parse files, that can be used to return a list of dictionaries, each containing a single line of the file. The keys will be the column names, and the values will be the ones in each cell.

Looks like this exception message is quite generic and can be received due to a variety of reasons. We ran into this while deploying the client on Windows 8.1 machines. Our WCF client runs inside of a windows service and continuously polls the WCF service. The windows service runs under a non-admin user. The issue was fixed by setting the clientCredentialType to "Windows" in the WCF configuration to allow the authentication to pass-through, as in the following:

There is no version 1.3.0 for rope. 1.3.0 refers to the package cached-property. The highest available version of rope is 0.9.4.

You can install different versions with conda install package=version. But in this case there is only one version of rope so you don't need that.

The reason you see the cached-property in this listing is because it contains the string "rope": "cached-p rope erty"

py35_0 means that you need python version 3.5 for this specific version. If you only have python3.4 and the package is only for version 3.5 you cannot install it with conda.

I am not quite sure on the defaults either. It should be an indication that this package is inside the default conda channel.

None of the previous suggestions worked for me in jQuery 1.7.2 because I'm trying to set the selected index of the list based on the value from a textbox, and some text values are contained in multiple options. I ended up using the following:

As I understand you question, it is not about parsing JSON because you can copy-paste your JSON into your code directly - so if this is the case then just copy your JSON direct to dataObj variable without wrapping it with single quotes (tip: eval==evil)

Each thread has a stack which used for local variables and internal values. The stack size limits how deep your calls can be. Generally this is not something you need to change.

Personally, I quite like the C++2011 approach because it neither requires you to use sizeof() nor to remember adjusting the array bounds if you ever change the array bounds (and you can define the relevant function in C++2003 if you want, too):

useStyles is a React hook which are meant to be used in functional components and can not be used in class components.

From React:

Hooks let you use state and other React features without writing a class.

Also you should call useStyles hook inside your function like;

Just met one special case that I had to use easy_install instead of pip, or I have to pull the source codes directly.

For the package GitPython, the version in pip is too old, which is 0.1.7, while the one from easy_install is the latest which is 0.3.2.rc1.

I'm using Python 2.7.8. I'm not sure about the underlay mechanism of easy_install and pip, but at least the versions of some packages may be different from each other, and sometimes easy_install is the one with newer version.

I am just providing another case where you can get this error message. The solution will be the same as Adam has mentioned above. This is from a real code and I renamed the class name.

The above will no pass the compiler and get error: invalid use of incomplete type FooReaderPrivate. You basically have to put the inline portion into the *.cpp implementation file. This is OK. What I am trying to say here is that you may have a design issue. Cross reference of two classes may be necessary some cases, but I would say it is better to avoid them at the start of the design. I would be wrong, but please comment then I will update my posting.

Print the full file name out or step through in a debugger. When I get confused by errors like this, it means that my assumptions and expectations don't match reality. Make sure you can see what the path is; it'll help you figure out where you've gone wrong.
