To convert a String into Integer, I recommend using parseFloat and NOT parseInt. Here's why:

Using parseFloat:

parseFloat('2.34cms')  //Output: 2.34
parseFloat('12.5')     //Output: 12.5
parseFloat('012.3')    //Output: 12.3

Using parseInt:

parseInt('2.34cms')  //Output: 2
parseInt('12.5')     //Output: 12
parseInt('012.3')    //Output: 12

So if you have noticed parseInt discards the values after the decimals, whereas parseFloat lets you work with floating point numbers and hence more suitable if you want to retain the values after decimals. Use parseInt if and only if you are sure that you want the integer value.

The easiest way is:

That's the hard way, and those java.util.Date setter methods have been deprecated since Java 1.1 (1997). Simply format the date using SimpleDateFormat using a format pattern matching the input string.

In your specific case of "January 2, 2010" as the input string:

1. "January" is the full text month, so use the MMMM pattern for it
2. "2" is the short day-of-month, so use the d pattern for it.
3. "2010" is the 4-digit year, so use the yyyy pattern for it.

Note the importance of the explicit Locale argument. If you omit it, then it will use the default locale which is not necessarily English as used in the month name of the input string. If the locale doesn't match with the input string, then you would confusingly get a java.text.ParseException even though when the format pattern seems valid.

Note that the patterns are case sensitive and that text based patterns of four characters or more represent the full form; otherwise a short or abbreviated form is used if available. So e.g. MMMMM or more is unnecessary.

Here are some examples of valid SimpleDateFormat patterns to parse a given string to date:

An important note is that SimpleDateFormat is not thread safe. In other words, you should never declare and assign it as a static or instance variable and then reuse it from different methods/threads. You should always create it brand new within the method local scope.

Java 8 update

If you happen to be on Java 8 or newer, then use DateTimeFormatter (also here, click the link to see all predefined formatters and available format patterns; the tutorial is available here). This new API is inspired by JodaTime.

Do note that it has several predefined formatters for the more popular patterns. So instead of e.g. DateTimeFormatter.ofPattern("EEE, d MMM yyyy HH:mm:ss Z", Locale.ENGLISH);, you could use DateTimeFormatter.RFC_1123_DATE_TIME. This is possible because they are, on the contrary to SimpleDateFormat, thread safe. You could thus also define your own, if necessary.

For a particular input string format, you don't need to use an explicit DateTimeFormatter: a standard ISO 8601 date, like 2016-09-26T17:44:57Z, can be parsed directly with LocalDateTime#parse(text) as it already uses the ISO_LOCAL_DATE_TIME formatter. Similarly, LocalDate#parse(text) parses an ISO date without the time component (see ISO_LOCAL_DATE), and ZonedDateTime#parse(text) parses an ISO date with an offset and time zone added (see ISO_ZONED_DATE_TIME).

If you don't use Java 8 and you don't want to use a explicit loop for some reason, try MapUtils.populateMap from Apache Commons.

Depending on how many dynamic classes you need to add as your project grows it's probably worth checking out the classnames utility by JedWatson on GitHub. It allows you to represent your conditional classes as an object and returns those that evaluate to true.

So as an example from its React documentation:

I got the same exception also, but it was previously running fine in another machine. Anyway above solution didn't worked for me. What i did to resolve it?

1. Copy dependencies list into clipboard.
2. enter "npm init" to create fresh new package.json
3. Paste the dependencies again back to package.json
4. run "npm install" again!

The RTMPE videos are typically used on official full length movies, and are protected with SWF Verification Type 2. This has been around since 2011 and has yet to be reverse engineered.

The type "s" videos are the most difficult that can actually be downloaded. You will typcially see these on VEVO videos and the like. They start with a signature such as

This function is dynamic, it typically changes every day. To make it more difficult the function is hosted at a URL such as

this introduces the problem of Same-origin policy. Essentially, you cannot download this file from www.youtube.com because they are different domains. A workaround of this problem is CORS. With CORS, s.ytimg.com could add this header

Access-Control-Allow-Origin: http://www.youtube.com

and it would allow the JavaScript to download from www.youtube.com. Of course they do not do this. A workaround for this workaround is to use a CORS proxy. This is a proxy that responds with the following header to all requests

Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *

So, now that you have proxied your JS file, and used the function to scramble the signature, you can use that in the querystring to download a video.

If that is one table and have nothing to do with this - the simplest solution can be copy&paste to notepad then copy&paste back to excel :P

What you're talking about is becoming a payment service provider. I have been there and done that. It was a lot easier about 10 years ago than it is now, but if you have a phenomenal amount of time, money and patience available, it is still possible.

You will need to contact an acquiring bank. You didnt say what region of the world you are in, but by this I dont mean a local bank branch. Each major bank will generally have a separate card acquiring arm. So here in the UK we have (eg) Natwest bank, which uses Streamline (or Worldpay) as its acquiring arm. In total even though we have scores of major banks, they all end up using one of five or so card acquirers.

Happily, all UK card acquirers use a standard protocol for communication of authorisation requests, and end of day settlement. You will find minor quirks where some acquiring banks support some features and have slightly different syntax, but the differences are fairly minor. The UK standards are published by the Association for Payment Clearing Services (APACS) (which is now known as the UKPA). The standards are still commonly referred to as APACS 30 (authorization) and APACS 29 (settlement), but are now formally known as APACS 70 (books 1 through 7).

Although the APACS standard is widely supported across the UK (Amex and Discover accept messages in this format too) it is not used in other countries - each country has it's own - for example: Carte Bancaire in France, CartaSi in Italy, Sistema 4B in Spain, Dankort in Denmark etc. An effort is under way to unify the protocols across Europe - see EPAS.org

Communicating with the acquiring bank can be done a number of ways. Again though, it will depend on your region. In the UK (and most of Europe) we have one communications gateway that provides connectivity to all the major acquirers, they are called TNS and there are dozens of ways of communicating through them to the acquiring bank, from dialup 9600 baud modems, ISDN, HTTPS, VPN or dedicated line. Ultimately the authorisation request will be converted to X25 protocol, which is the protocol used by these acquiring banks when communicating with each other.

In summary then: it all depends on your region.

• Contact a major bank and try to get through to their card acquiring arm.
• Explain that you're setting up as a payment service provider, and request details on comms format for authorization requests and end of day settlement files
• Set up a test merchant account and develop auth/settlement software and go through the accreditation process. Most acquirers help you through this process for free, but when you want to register as an accredited PSP some will request a fee.
• you will need to comply with some regulations too, for example you may need to register as a payment institution

Once you are registered and accredited you'll then be able to accept customers and set up merchant accounts on behalf of the bank/s you're accredited against (bearing in mind that each acquirer will generally support multiple banks). Rinse and repeat with other acquirers as you see necessary.

Beyond that you have lots of other issues, mainly dealing with PCI-DSS. Thats a whole other topic and there are already some q&a's on this site regarding that. Like I say, its a phenomenal undertaking - most likely a multi-year project even for a reasonably sized team, but its certainly possible.

'OR 1=1 is an attempt to make a query succeed no matter what
The /* is an attempt to start a multiline comment so the rest of the query is ignored.

An example would be

As you can see if you were to populate the username field without escaping the ' no matter what credentials the user passes in the query would return all userids in the system likely granting access to the attacker (possibly admin access if admin is your first user). You will also notice the remainder of the query would be commented out because of the /* including the real '.

The fact that you can see the value in your database means that it was escaped and that particular attack did not succeed. However, you should investigate if any other attempts were made.

For anyone trying to run kafka on kubernetes and running into this error, this is what finally solved it for me:

You have to either:

1. Add hostname to the pod spec, that way kafka can find itself.

or

2. If using hostPort, then you need hostNetwork: true and dnsPolicy: ClusterFirstWithHostNet

The reason for this is because Kafka needs to talk to itself, and it decides to use the 'advertised' listener/hostname to find itself, rather than using localhost. Even if you have a Service that points the advertised host name at the pod, it is not visible from within the pod. I do not really know why that is the case, but at least there is a workaround.

Thus, try array_mapping utf8_encode() to your array before you encode it:

All these theoretical discussions are great, but in reality, at least if you're using MySQL and really for SQLServer as well, it's best to stick with non-binary data for your booleans for the simple reason that it's easier to work with when you're outputting the data, querying and so on. It is especially important if you're trying to achieve interoperability between MySQL and SQLServer (i.e. you sync data between the two), because the handling of BIT datatype is different in the two of them. SO in practice you will have a lot less hassles if you stick with a numeric datatype. I would recommend for MySQL to stick with BOOL or BOOLEAN which gets stored as TINYINT(1). Even the way MySQL Workbench and MySQL Administrator display the BIT datatype isn't nice (it's a little symbol for binary data). So be practical and save yourself the hassles (and unfortunately I'm speaking from experience).

There could be a potential problem that leads to the StaleElementReferenceException that no one mentioned so far (in regard to actions).

I explain it in Javascript, but it's the same in Java.

For GUI specific settings use the .gvimrc instead of .vimrc, which on Windows is either $HOME\_gvimrc or $VIM\_gvimrc.

Just to say one thing, WindowsAPICodePack can not open CommonOpenFileDialog on Windows 7 6.1.7600.

If you set the margin to be margin:0 auto the image will be centered.

This will give top + bottom a margin of 0, and left and right a margin of 'auto'. Since the div has a width (200px), the image will be 200px wide and the browser will auto set the left and right margin to half of what is left on the page, which will result in the image being centered.

I've found that the biggest culprit for taking up port 80 on newer Windows installs is the BranchCache Service (#3) in this list...

1. SQL Server Reporting Services

2. Web Deployment Agent Service

3. BranchCache

4. World Wide Web Publishing Service

These 4 service probably cover 90% of the native Windows Services that take up port 80.

The other 10% is the hidden HTTP.sys service/driver which takes port 80 when another service requests it. Run this to disable it, and reboot.

Aside from Skype, TeamViewer is also very commonly installed software, and will take port 80 if not configured otherwise.

This is because your data sending column type is integer and your are sending a string value to it.

I think it's worth looking at GNU "time" command source code. time It outputs user/system cpu time along with real elapsed time. It calls wait3/wait4 system call (if available) and otherwise it calls times system call. wait* system call returns a "rusage" struct variable and times system call returns "tms". Also, you can have a look at getrusage system call which also return very interesting timing information. time

That's the "path" the error message is complaining about -- path from UserGroup to User entity.

Caution, member enumeration only works if the collection itself has no member of the same name. So if you had an array of FileInfo objects, you couldn't get an array of file lengths by using

 $files.length # evaluates to array length

And before you say "well obviously", consider this. If you had an array of objects with a capacity property then

 $objarr.capacity

would work fine UNLESS $objarr were actually not an [Array] but, for example, an [ArrayList]. So before using member enumeration you might have to look inside the black box containing your collection.

I had the same problem but none of the solutions above helped. The entries in the .gitmodules and in .git/config were right but the command git submodules update --init --recursive was doing nothing. I also removed the submodule directory and did run git submodules update --init --recursive and got the submodule directory back but with exactly the same commit as before.

I found the answer on this page. The command is:git submodule update --remote

There is an easy solution by using java FunctionalInterface and then add that interface as dependency for the class you are trying to unit test.

There's no Console.writeline in Java. Its in .NET.

Console and standard out are not same. If you read the Javadoc page you mentioned, you will see that an application can have access to a console only if it is invoked from the command line and the output is not redirected like this

Other such cases are covered in SimonJ's answer, though he missed out on the point that there's no Console.writeline.

I had mixed c++/cli mfc extension dlls, that were optimised even if debug configuration (seen from VS 2017 Modules window). As previous answer suggested I changed "In VS2013 go to: Tools -> Options -> Debugging -> General and enable 'Use managed compatibility mode'. This disables the new function evaluation behavior." That settings find also in VS 2017.

But that was not enough, so I also copied the UseDebugLibraries setting from another MFC app's project file to extension dll project file.

This is a common formatting floating number use case.

Unfortunately, all of the built-in one-letter format strings (eg. F, G, N) won't achieve this directly.
For example, num.ToString("F2") will always show 2 decimal places like 123.40.

You'll have to use 0.## pattern even it looks a little verbose.

The set statement doesn't treat spaces the way you expect; your variable is really named Pathname[space] and is equal to [space]C:\Program Files.

Remove the spaces from both sides of the = sign, and put the value in double quotes:

Also, if your command prompt is not open to C:\, then using cd alone can't change drives.

Actions are sort of helper methods that you can call to change your application state or do api calls.

1. Get the query that is causing the problems (you can also use SQL Profiler if you dont have the source)
2. Remove all WHERE clauses and other unimportant parts until you are basically just left with the SELECT and FROM parts
3. Add WHERE 0 = 1 (this will select only table structure)
4. Add INTO [MyTempTable] just before the FROM clause

You should end up with something like

This will create a table called MyTempTable in your DB that you can compare to your target table structure i.e. you can compare the columns on both tables to see where they differ. It is a bit of a workaround but it is the quickest method I have found.

Use the CellMouseDown event on the DataGridView. From the event handler arguments you can determine which cell was clicked. Using the PointToClient() method on the DataGridView you can determine the relative position of the pointer to the DataGridView, so you can pop up the menu in the correct location.

(The DataGridViewCellMouseEvent parameter just gives you the X and Y relative to the cell you clicked, which isn't as easy to use to pop up the context menu.)

The way android layout_weight works is that:

• first, it looks to the size that a View would normally take and reserves this space.
• second, if the layout is match_parent then it will divide the space that is left in the ratio of the layout_weights. Thus if you gave the Views layout_weight="2" and layout_weight="1",the resultant ratio will be 2 to 1,that is : the first View will get 2/3 of the space that is left and the other view 1/3.

So that's why if you give layout_width a size of 0dp the first step has no added meaning since both Views are not assigned any space. Then only the second point decides the space each View gets, thus giving the Views the space you specified according to the ratio!

To explain why 0dp causes the space to devide equally by providing an example that shows the opposite: The code below would result in something different since example text now has a width that is greater than 0dp because it has wrap_content instead making the free space left to divide less than 100% because the text takes space. The result will be that they do get 50% of the free space left but the text already took some space so the TextView will have well over 50% of the total space.

TCP keepalive and HTTP keepalive are very different concepts. In TCP, the keepalive is the administrative packet sent to detect stale connection. In HTTP, keepalive means the persistent connection state.

This is from TCP specification,

Keep-alive packets MUST only be sent when no data or acknowledgement packets have been received for the connection within an interval. This interval MUST be configurable and MUST default to no less than two hours.

As you can see, the default TCP keepalive interval is too long for most applications. You might have to add keepalive in your application protocol.

I had the same problem and my first <p> element which was at the top of the page and also had a browser webkit default margin. This was pushing my entire div down which had the same effect you were talking about so watch out for any text-based elements that are at the very top of the page.

I have found this discussion extremely useful, but I have experienced some "rounding off" problems.

More precisely, using a binwidth of 0.05, I have noticed that, with the techniques presented here above, data points which read 0.1 and 0.15 fall in the same bin. This (obviously unwanted behaviour) is most likely due to the "floor" function.

Normally when an optimization algorithm does not converge, it is usually because the problem is not well-conditioned, perhaps due to a poor scaling of the decision variables. There are a few things you can try.

1. Normalize your training data so that the problem hopefully becomes more well conditioned, which in turn can speed up convergence. One possibility is to scale your data to 0 mean, unit standard deviation using Scikit-Learn's StandardScaler for an example. Note that you have to apply the StandardScaler fitted on the training data to the test data.

3. Set max_iter to a larger value. The default is 1000.
4. Set dual = True if number of features > number of examples and vice versa. This solves the SVM optimization problem using the dual formulation. Thanks @Nino van Hooff for pointing this out, and @JamesKo for spotting my mistake.
5. Use a different solver, for e.g., the L-BFGS solver if you are using Logistic Regression. See @5ervant's answer.

Note: One should not ignore this warning.

This warning came about because

1. Solving the linear SVM is just solving a quadratic optimization problem. The solver is typically an iterative algorithm that keeps a running estimate of the solution (i.e., the weight and bias for the SVM). It stops running when the solution corresponds to an objective value that is optimal for this convex optimization problem, or when it hits the maximum number of iterations set.

2. If the algorithm does not converge, then the current estimate of the SVM's parameters are not guaranteed to be any good, hence the predictions can also be complete garbage.

Edit

In addition, consider the comment by @Nino van Hooff and @5ervant to use the dual formulation of the SVM. This is especially important if the number of features you have, D, is more than the number of training examples N. This is what the dual formulation of the SVM is particular designed for and helps with the conditioning of the optimization problem. Credit to @5ervant for noticing and pointing this out.

Furthermore, @5ervant also pointed out the possibility of changing the solver, in particular the use of the L-BFGS solver. Credit to him (i.e., upvote his answer, not mine).

I would like to provide a quick rough explanation for those who are interested (I am :)) why this matters in this case. Second-order methods, and in particular approximate second-order method like the L-BFGS solver, will help with ill-conditioned problems because it is approximating the Hessian at each iteration and using it to scale the gradient direction. This allows it to get better convergence rate but possibly at a higher compute cost per iteration. That is, it takes fewer iterations to finish but each iteration will be slower than a typical first-order method like gradient-descent or its variants.

For e.g., a typical first-order method might update the solution at each iteration like

x(k + 1) = x(k) - alpha(k) * gradient(f(x(k)))

where alpha(k), the step size at iteration k, depends on the particular choice of algorithm or learning rate schedule.

A second order method, for e.g., Newton, will have an update equation

x(k + 1) = x(k) - alpha(k) * Hessian(x(k))^(-1) * gradient(f(x(k)))

That is, it uses the information of the local curvature encoded in the Hessian to scale the gradient accordingly. If the problem is ill-conditioned, the gradient will be pointing in less than ideal directions and the inverse Hessian scaling will help correct this.

In particular, L-BFGS mentioned in @5ervant's answer is a way to approximate the inverse of the Hessian as computing it can be an expensive operation.

However, second-order methods might converge much faster (i.e., requires fewer iterations) than first-order methods like the usual gradient-descent based solvers, which as you guys know by now sometimes fail to even converge. This can compensate for the time spent at each iteration.

In summary, if you have a well-conditioned problem, or if you can make it well-conditioned through other means such as using regularization and/or feature scaling and/or making sure you have more examples than features, you probably don't have to use a second-order method. But these days with many models optimizing non-convex problems (e.g., those in DL models), second order methods such as L-BFGS methods plays a different role there and there are evidence to suggest they can sometimes find better solutions compared to first-order methods. But that is another story.

In android google maps application there is a very easy way to find distance between 2 locations, to do so follow the following easy steps:

1. when you first open the app go to " your timeline " from the drop menue on the top left.

3. add your places and name them lilke point 1 , point 2 , or any easy name to remember.
4. once your places are added and flagged go back to the main Window in your google app.

6. a new windwo will open and you can see on the top there are two text fields in which you can add your "from location" and "distance location".
7. click on any text field and type in your saved location in point 3.
8. click on the other text field and add your next saved location.
9. By doing so, google maps will calculate the distance between the two locations and show you the blue path on map ..

In my case I needed to create a new folder in the www directory called scripts. Within scripts I added a new file called test.py.

I then used sudo chown www-data:root scripts and sudo chown www-data:root test.py.

Then I went to the new scripts directory and used sudo chmod +x test.py.

My test.py file it looks like this. Note the different Python version:

The other solution only works for two activities that are in the same application. In my case, application B doesn't know class com.example.MyExampleActivity.class in the code, so compile will fail.

A JTextField was designed to use an ActionListener just like a JButton is. See the addActionListener() method of JTextField.

You have to use heap and dynamic allocation.

What you really need to do:

• compute size (nmsizeof(element)) of the memory you need
• call malloc(size) to allocate the memory
• create an accessor: int* access(ptr,x,y,rowSize) { return ptr + y*rowSize + x; }

Use *access(boardAux, x, y, size) = 42 to interact with the matrix.

One important aspect of this question which other answers have not yet addressed is that it is safe for a base-class to call virtual members from within its constructor if that is what the derived classes are expecting it to do. In such cases, the designer of the derived class is responsible for ensuring that any methods which are run before construction is complete will behave as sensibly as they can under the circumstances. For example, in C++/CLI, constructors are wrapped in code which will call Dispose on the partially-constructed object if construction fails. How malloc() and free() works depends on the runtime library used. Generally, malloc() allocates a heap (a block of memory) from the operating system. Each request to malloc() then allocates a small chunk of this memory be returning a pointer to the caller. The memory allocation routines will have to store some extra information about the block of memory allocated to be able to keep track of used and free memory on the heap. This information is often stored in a few bytes just before the pointer returned by malloc() and it can be a linked list of memory blocks.

By writing past the block of memory allocated by malloc() you will most likely destroy some of the book-keeping information of the next block which may be the remaining unused block of memory.

One place where you program may also crash is when copying too many characters into the buffer. If the extra characters are located outside the heap you may get an access violation as you are trying to write to non-existing memory.

This link on MSDN also helps a lot to understand the reason why it doesn't work. $(MSBuildToolsPath) is the path to Microsoft.Build.Engine v3.5 (inserted automatically in a project file when you create in VS2008). If you try to build your project for .Net 2.0, be sure that you changed this path to $(MSBuildBinPath) which is the path to Microsoft.Build.Engine v2.0.

It doesn't recognize that you have a master branch, but I found a way to get around it. I found out that there's nothing special about a master branch, you can just create another branch and call it master branch and that's what I did.

To create a master branch:

git checkout -b master

And you can work off of that.

As others have noted the call to .remove() is asynchronous. We should all be aware nothing happens 'instantly', even if it is at the speed of light.

What you mean by 'instantly' is that the next line of code should be able to execute after the call to .remove(). With asynchronous operations the next line may be when the data has been removed, it may not - it is totally down to chance and the amount of time that has elapsed.

.remove() takes one parameter a callback function to help deal with this situation to perform operations after we know that the operation has been completed (with or without an error). .push() takes two params, a value and a callback just like .remove().

Here is your example code with modifications:

Database memory usage is a complex topic. The MySQL Performance Blog does a good job of covering your question, and lists many reasons why it's hugely impractical to "reserve" memory.

If you really want to impose a hard limit, you could do so, but you'd have to do it at the OS level as there is no built-in setting. In linux, you could utilize ulimit, but you'd likely have to modify the way MySQL starts in order to impose this.

The best solution is to tune your server down, so that a combination of the usual MySQL memory settings will result in generally lower memory usage by your MySQL installation. This will of course have a negative impact on the performance of your database, but some of the settings you can tweak in my.ini are:

query_cache_size
query_cache_limit
table_cache
max_connections
tmp_table_size
innodb_buffer_pool_size

I'd start there and see if you can get the results you want. There are many articles out there about adjusting MySQL memory settings.

Use py-bcrypt (bcrypt), powerful hashing technique to generate a password yourself.

So once you know the id of the label, open your storyboard in a seperate tab with view controllers displayed and just do command F and command V and will take you straight to that label :)

Appending to and copying slices

The function copy copies slice elements from a source src to a destination dst and returns the number of elements copied. Both arguments must have identical element type T and must be assignable to a slice of type []T. The number of elements copied is the minimum of len(src) and len(dst). As a special case, copy also accepts a destination argument assignable to type []byte with a source argument of a string type. This form copies the bytes from the string into the byte slice.

To make the thread stop on Keyboard Interrupt signal (ctrl+c) you can catch the exception "KeyboardInterrupt" and cleanup before exiting. Like this:

This way you can control what to do whenever the program is abruptly terminated.

You can use datetime.date.today() and convert the resulting datetime.date object to a string:

What about in a situation where you have a Service that's holding state for example. How could I push changes to that Service, and other random components on the page be aware of such a change? Been struggling with tackling this problem lately

If you are on windows, and your php folder is not in your PATH, you have set the absolute directory in your php.ini

for example:

extension_dir = "C:/php7/ext"

and uncomment

extension=php_mysqli.dll
extension=php_pdo_mysql.dll

Restart apache2.4 and it should work.

Most likely, as mentioned by others, it is a class carrying the css values:

.clear{clear: both;} 

in order to prevent any more page elements from extending into the footer element. It is a quick and easy way of making sure that pages with columns of varying heights don't cause the footer to render oddly, by possibly setting its top position at the end of a shorter column.

In many cases it is not necessary, but if you are using best-practice standards it is a good idea to use, if you are floating page elements left and right. It functions with page elements similar to the way a horizontal rule works with text, to ensure proper and complete sepperation.
