There is no limit to the number of elements that you are passing to IN clause. If there are more elements it will consider it as array and then for each scan in the database it will check if it is contained in the array or not. This approach is not so scalable. Instead of using IN clause try using INNER JOIN with temp table. Refer http://www.xaprb.com/blog/2006/06/28/why-large-in-clauses-are-problematic/ for more info. Using INNER JOIN scales well as query optimizer can make use of hash join and other optimization. Whereas with IN clause there is no way for the optimizer to optimize the query. I have noticed speedup of at least 2x with this change.

There are three scenarios (that I can think of) where you would call a method in a subclass where the method exits in the parent class:

1. Method is not overwritten by subclass, only exists in parent.

   This is the same as your example, and generally it's better to use $this -> get_species(); You are right that in this case the two are effectively the same, but the method has been inherited by the subclass, so there is no reason to differentiate. By using $this you stay consistent between inherited methods and locally declared methods.

2. Method is overwritten by the subclass and has totally unique logic from the parent.

   In this case, you would obviously want to use $this -> get_species(); because you don't want the parent's version of the method executed. Again, by consistently using $this, you don't need to worry about the distinction between this case and the first.

3. Method extends parent class, adding on to what the parent method achieves.

   In this case, you still want to use `$this -> get_species(); when calling the method from other methods of the subclass. The one place you will call the parent method would be from the method that is overwriting the parent method. Example:

The only scenario I can imagine where you would need to call the parent method directly outside of the overriding method would be if they did two different things and you knew you needed the parent's version of the method, not the local. This shouldn't be the case, but if it did present itself, the clean way to approach this would be to create a new method with a name like get_parentSpecies() where all it does is call the parent method:

You should highly consider using an ORDER BY if you intend to LIMIT your UPDATE, because otherwise it will update in the ordering of the table, which might not be correct.

The difference between import module and from module import foo is mainly subjective. Pick the one you like best and be consistent in your use of it. Here are some points to help you decide.

import module

• Pros:
  • Less maintenance of your import statements. Don't need to add any additional imports to start using another item from the module
• Cons:
  • Typing module.foo in your code can be tedious and redundant (tedium can be minimized by using import module as mo then typing mo.foo)

from module import foo

• Pros:
  • Less typing to use foo
  • More control over which items of a module can be accessed
• Cons:
  • To use a new item from the module you have to update your import statement
  • You lose context about foo. For example, it's less clear what ceil() does compared to math.ceil()

Either method is acceptable, but don't use from module import *.

For any reasonable large set of code, if you import * you will likely be cementing it into the module, unable to be removed. This is because it is difficult to determine what items used in the code are coming from 'module', making it easy to get to the point where you think you don't use the import any more but it's extremely difficult to be sure.

There is no inbuilt support for the style change event in jQuery or in java script. But jQuery supports to create custom event and listen to it but every time there is a change, you should have a way to trigger it on yourself. So it will not be a complete solution.

To fully understand this, you must grasp the following concepts:

Arrays are not pointers!

First of all (And it's been preached enough), arrays are not pointers. Instead, in most uses, they 'decay' to the address to their first element, which can be assigned to a pointer:

int a[] = {1, 2, 3};

int *p = a; // p now points to a[0]

I assume it works this way so that the array's contents can be accessed without copying all of them. That's just a behavior of array types and is not meant to imply that they are same thing.

Multidimensional arrays

Multidimensional arrays are just a way to 'partition' memory in a way that the compiler/machine can understand and operate on.

For instance, int a[4][3][5] = an array containing 4*3*5 (60) 'chunks' of integer-sized memory.

The advantage over using int a[4][3][5] vs plain int b[60] is that they're now 'partitioned' (Easier to work with their 'chunks', if needed), and the program can now perform bound checking.

In fact, int a[4][3][5] is stored exactly like int b[60] in memory - The only difference is that the program now manages it as if they're separate entities of certain sizes (Specifically, four groups of three groups of five).

Keep in mind: Both int a[4][3][5] and int b[60] are the same in memory, and the only difference is how they're handled by the application/compiler

Syntax

Now, arrays are syntactically different from pointers. Specifically, this means the compiler/machine will treat them differently. This may seem like a no brainer, but take a look at this:

The above example prints the same memory address twice, like this:

0x7eb5a3b4 0x7eb5a3b4

However, only one can be assigned to a pointer so directly:

int *p1 = a[0]; // RIGHT !

int *p2 = a; // WRONG !

Why can't a be assigned to a pointer but a[0] can?

This, simply, is a consequence of multidimensional arrays, and I'll explain why:

At the level of 'a', we still see that we have another 'dimension' to look forward to. At the level of 'a[0]', however, we're already in the top dimension, so as far as the program is concerned we're just looking at a normal array.

You may be asking:

Why does it matter if the array is multidimensional in regards to making a pointer for it?

It's best to think this way:

A 'decay' from a multidimensional array is not just an address, but an address with partition data (AKA it still understands that its underlying data is made of other arrays), which consists of boundaries set by the array beyond the first dimension.

This 'partition' logic cannot exist within a pointer unless we specify it:

int a[4][5][95][8];

int (*p)[5][95][8];

p = a; // p = *a[0] // p = a+0

Otherwise, the meaning of the array's sorting properties are lost.

Also note the use of parenthesis around *p: int (*p)[5][95][8] - That's to specify that we're making a pointer with these bounds, not an array of pointers with these bounds: int *p[5][95][8]

Conclusion

Let's review:

• Arrays decay to addresses if they have no other purpose in the used context
• Multidimensional arrays are just arrays of arrays - Hence, the 'decayed' address will carry the burden of "I have sub dimensions"
• Dimension data cannot exist in a pointer unless you give it to it.

In brief: multidimensional arrays decay to addresses that carry the ability to understand their contents.

One point: you have to set NumberFormat property BEFORE loading the value into the cell. I had a nine digit number that still displayed as 9.14E+08 when the NumberFormat was set after the cell was loaded. Setting the property before loading the value made the number appear as I wanted, as straight text.

While databases can handle LOB's and 3000 images (4-6 Megapixels, assuming 500K an image) 1.5 Gigs isn't a lot of space file systems are much better designed for storing large files than a database is.

There is no way to identify the charset of a string that is completely accurate. There are ways to try to guess the charset. One of these ways, and probably/currently the best in PHP, is mb_detect_encoding(). This will scan your string and look for occurrences of stuff unique to certain charsets. Depending on your string, there may not be such distinguishable occurrences.

Take the ISO-8859-1 charset vs ISO-8859-15 ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO/IEC_8859-15#Changes_from_ISO-8859-1 )

There's only a handful of different characters, and to make it worse, they're represented by the same bytes. There is no way to detect, being given a string without knowing it's encoding, whether byte 0xA4 is supposed to signify ¤ or € in your string, so there is no way to know it's exact charset.

(Note: you could add a human factor, or an even more advanced scanning technique (e.g. what Oroboros102 suggests), to try to figure out based upon the surrounding context, if the character should be ¤ or €, though this seems like a bridge too far)

There are more distinguishable differences between e.g. UTF-8 and ISO-8859-1, so it's still worth trying to figure it out when you're unsure, though you can and should never rely on it being correct.

There are other ways of ensuring the correct charset though. Concerning forms, try to enforce UTF-8 as much as possible (check out snowman to make sure yout submission will be UTF-8 in every browser: http://intertwingly.net/blog/2010/07/29/Rails-and-Snowmen ) That being done, at least you're can be sure that every text submitted through your forms is utf_8. Concerning uploaded files, try running the unix 'file -i' command on it through e.g. exec() (if possible on your server) to aid the detection (using the document's BOM.) Concerning scraping data, you could read the HTTP headers, that usually specify the charset. When parsing XML files, see if the XML meta-data contain a charset definition.

Rather than trying to automagically guess the charset, you should first try to ensure a certain charset yourself where possible, or trying to grab a definition from the source you're getting it from (if applicable) before resorting to detection.

I've had some very good experience with Qt, so I would definitely recommend it.

You should be ware of the licensing model though. If you're developing an open source application, you can use the open-source licensed version free of charge. I ran into the exact same problem under identical circumstances. I don't have the tnsnames.ora file, and I wanted to use SQL*Plus with Easy Connection Identifier format in command line. I solved this problem as follows.

Here is an extension/edit of VonCs solution just in case someone doesn´t want to go through the hassle of implementing their own filter to do this. It also shows how to output a JAXB element without the namespace present. This is all accomplished using a SAX Filter.

With the following you can insert multiple values and also have default values but you're creating a new dictionary.

I've tested it with the most voted answer and on average this is faster as it can be seen in the following example, .

if no copy (d = default_vals.copy()) is made on the first case then the most voted answer would be faster once we reach orders of magnitude of 10**5 and greater. Memory footprint of both methods are the same.

You can produce the javascript file via PHP. Nothing says a javascript file must have a .js extention. For example in your HTML:

Firstly, the below method doesn't compile as it is missing the return type and it should be Long.MAX_VALUE in place of Long.Max_value.

The use of the imperative, present tense is one that takes a little getting used to. When I started mentioning it, it was met with resistance. Usually along the lines of “The commit message records what I have done”. But, Git is a distributed version control system where there are potentially many places to get changes from. Rather than writing messages that say what you’ve done; consider these messages as the instructions for what applying the commit will do. Rather than having a commit with the title:

Renamed the iVars and removed the common prefix.

Have one like this:

Rename the iVars to remove the common prefix

Which tells someone what applying the commit will do, rather than what you did. Also, if you look at your repository history you will see that the Git generated messages are written in this tense as well - “Merge” not “Merged”, “Rebase” not “Rebased” so writing in the same tense keeps things consistent. It feels strange at first but it does make sense (testimonials available upon application) and eventually becomes natural.

Having said all that - it’s your code, your repository: so set up your own guidelines and stick to them.

If, however, you do decide to go this way then git rebase -i with the reword option would be a good thing to look into.

What you have should work. It depends on the type of data you are setting i.e. if it's a string value you need to make sure it's in quotes e.g.

You can use innerHTML to just concat the extra field string;

Depending on your application, you might want to implement regex matching for the countries where most of your visitors originate and no validation for the rest (accept anything).

The ApplicationPoolIdentity is assigned membership of the Users group as well as the IIS_IUSRS group. On first glance this may look somewhat worrying, however the Users group has somewhat limited NTFS rights.

For example, if you try and create a folder in the C:\Windows folder then you'll find that you can't. The ApplicationPoolIdentity still needs to be able to read files from the windows system folders (otherwise how else would the worker process be able to dynamically load essential DLL's).

With regard to your observations about being able to write to your c:\dump folder. If you take a look at the permissions in the Advanced Security Settings, you'll see the following:

See that Special permission being inherited from c:\:

That's the reason your site's ApplicationPoolIdentity can read and write to that folder. That right is being inherited from the c:\ drive.

In a shared environment where you possibly have several hundred sites, each with their own application pool and Application Pool Identity, you would store the site folders in a folder or volume that has had the Users group removed and the permissions set such that only Administrators and the SYSTEM account have access (with inheritance).

You would then individually assign the requisite permissions each IIS AppPool\[name] requires on it's site root folder.

You should also ensure that any folders you create where you store potentially sensitive files or data have the Users group removed. You should also make sure that any applications that you install don't store sensitive data in their c:\program files\[app name] folders and that they use the user profile folders instead.

So yes, on first glance it looks like the ApplicationPoolIdentity has more rights than it should, but it actually has no more rights than it's group membership dictates.

An ApplicationPoolIdentity's group membership can be examined using the SysInternals Process Explorer tool. Find the worker process that is running with the Application Pool Identity you're interested in (you will have to add the User Name column to the list of columns to display:

For example, I have a pool here named 900300 which has an Application Pool Identity of IIS APPPOOL\900300. Right clicking on properties for the process and selecting the Security tab we see:

This is how I worked with local swagger JSON

1. Have tomcat running in local machine
2. Download Swagger UI application and unzip it into tomcat's /webapps/swagger folder
3. Drop local swagger json file inside /webapps/swagger folder of tomcat
4. Start up tomcat (/bin/sh startup.sh)

If the data is stored in a database it will be faster to send the query to the database instead of getting all data and query it in memory.

A third way to do it will be linq to datasets, but i doubt any of these 3 methods differ much in performance.

I don't believe this is a good pattern to use in general. Link will run your onClick event and then navigate to the route, so there will be a slight delay navigating to the new route. A better strategy is to navigate to the new route with the 'to' prop as you have done, and in the new component's componentDidMount() function you can fire your hello function or any other function. It will give you the same result, but with a much smoother transition between routes.

For context, I noticed this while updating my redux store with an onClick event on Link like you have here, and it caused a ~.3 second blank-white-screen delay before mounting the new route's component. There was no api call involved, so I was surprised the delay was so big. However, if you're just console logging 'hello' the delay might not be noticeable.

The reason why nothing happens when you use 'alert()' is probably as explained by MDN: "The HTML specification states that calls to window.alert(), window.confirm(), and window.prompt() methods may be ignored during this event."

But there is also another reason why you might not see the warning at all, whether it calls alert() or not, also explained on the same site:

"... browsers may not display prompts created in beforeunload event handlers unless the page has been interacted with"

That is what I see with current versions of Chrome and FireFox. I open my page which has beforeunload handler set up with this code:

Consider that without this feature any site might selfishly ask you: "Do you really want to leave our site?", when you have already clearly indicated your intention to leave their site.

A more detailed answer is below.

Traditional tables in SQL Server can either have a clustered index or are structured as heaps.

Clustered indexes can either be declared as unique to disallow duplicate key values or default to non unique. If not unique then SQL Server silently adds a uniqueifier to any duplicate keys to make them unique.

Non clustered indexes can also be explicitly declared as unique. Otherwise for the non unique case SQL Server adds the row locator (clustered index key or RID for a heap) to all index keys (not just duplicates) this again ensures they are unique.

In SQL Server 2000 - 2012 indexes on table variables can only be created implicitly by creating a UNIQUE or PRIMARY KEY constraint. The difference between these constraint types are that the primary key must be on non nullable column(s). The columns participating in a unique constraint may be nullable. (though SQL Server's implementation of unique constraints in the presence of NULLs is not per that specified in the SQL Standard). Also a table can only have one primary key but multiple unique constraints.

Both of these logical constraints are physically implemented with a unique index. If not explicitly specified otherwise the PRIMARY KEY will become the clustered index and unique constraints non clustered but this behavior can be overridden by specifying CLUSTERED or NONCLUSTERED explicitly with the constraint declaration (Example syntax)

As a result of the above the following indexes can be implicitly created on table variables in SQL Server 2000 - 2012.

The last one requires a bit of explanation. In the table variable definition at the beginning of this answer the non unique non clustered index on Name is simulated by a unique index on Name,Id (recall that SQL Server would silently add the clustered index key to the non unique NCI key anyway).

A non unique clustered index can also be achieved by manually adding an IDENTITY column to act as a uniqueifier.

But this is not an accurate simulation of how a non unique clustered index would normally actually be implemented in SQL Server as this adds the "Uniqueifier" to all rows. Not just those that require it.

To view the stdout, you can start the docker container with -i. This of course does not enable you to leave the started process and explore the container.

Alternatively you can view the filesystem of the container at

/var/lib/docker/containers/containerid/root/

However neither of these are ideal. If you want to view logs or any persistent storage, the correct way to do so would be attaching a volume with the -v switch when you use docker run. This would mean you can inspect log files either on the host or attach them to another container and inspect them there.

There is also another possible source of this error. In some J2EE / web containers (in my experience under Jboss 7.x and Tomcat 7.x) You have to add each class You want to use as a hibernate Entity into the file persistence.xml as

<class>com.yourCompanyName.WhateverEntityClass</class>

In case of jboss this concerns every entity class (local - i.e. within the project You are developing or in a library). In case of Tomcat 7.x this concerns only entity classes within libraries.

I use this script to delete last 10 commands in history:

I always keep coming here to check for int/hex alpha value. So, end up creating a simple method in my java utils class. This method will convert the percentage to hex value and append to the color code string value.

As an alternative to reading a data from a stream to a byte array, you could let the framework handle everything and just use a StreamReader set up with an ASCII encoding to read in the string. That way you don't need to worry about getting the appropriate buffer size or larger data sizes.

Since I had to compile some source with 7 compatibility, because of some legacy system and ran into the same problem. I found out that in the gradle configuration there where two options set to java 8

switching these to 1.7 solved the problem for me, keeping JAVA_HOME pointing to the installed JDK-7

As others have already noted, the time() function in the C standard library does not have a resolution better than one second. The only fully portable C function that may provide better resolution appears to be clock(), but that measures processor time rather than wallclock time. If one is content to limit oneself to POSIX platforms (e.g. Linux), then the clock_gettime() function is a good choice.

Since C++11, there are much better timing facilities available that offer better resolution in a form that should be very portable across different compilers and operating systems. Similarly, the boost::datetime library provides good high-resolution timing classes that should be highly portable.

One challenge in using any of these facilities is the time-delay introduced by querying the system clock. From experimenting with clock_gettime(), boost::datetime and std::chrono, this delay can easily be a matter of microseconds. So, when measuring the duration of any part of your code, you need to allow for there being a measurement error of around this size, or try to correct for that zero-error in some way. Ideally, you may well want to gather multiple measurements of the time taken by your function, and compute the average, or maximum/minimum time taken across many runs.

To help with all these portability and statistics-gathering issues, I've been developing the cxx-rtimers library available on Github which tries to provide a simple API for timing blocks of C++ code, computing zero errors, and reporting stats from multiple timers embedded in your code. If you have a C++11 compiler, you simply #include <rtimers/cxx11.hpp>, and use something like:

If you want to use Linux-specific timing functions, you can #include <rtimers/posix.hpp>, or if you have the Boost libraries but an older C++ compiler, you can #include <rtimers/boost.hpp>. There are also versions of these timer classes that can gather statistical timing information from across multiple threads. There are also methods that allow you to estimate the zero-error associated with two immediately consecutive queries of the system clock.

moment is a third party global resource. The moment object lives on window in the browser. Therefor it is not correct to import it in your angular2 application. Instead include the <script> tag in your html that will load the moment.js file.

To make TypeScript happy you can add

I tried all of the answers above and nothing worked. Using ionic to develop a hybrid app and was trying to make an error message not flicker. I ended up solving my issue by adding an ng-hide class to my element. My div already has ng-show to show the element when there is an error. Adding ng-hide set the div to not display before angular is loaded. No ng-cloak or adding angular to the head necessary.

After endless searching and trying the already supplied answers (adding the PUT,DELETE verbs and remove WEBdav) it just didn't work.

I went to IIS logging settings: > View Log Files. In my case W3SVC4 was the folder with the latest date, opened the folder, looked up the latest log file and saw this entry: GET /Rejected-By-UrlScan ~/MYDOMAIN/API/ApiName/UpdateMETHOD

The Update method was listed with verb GET, weird right? So I Googled for Rejected-By-UrlScan and found this link: UrlScan Broke My Blog.

I went to here: %windir%\system32\inetsrv\urlscan\UrlScan.ini

Basically, the UrlScan blocked PUT and DELETE verbs. I opened this INI file, added the PUT and DELETE to the AllowVerbs and removed them from the DenyVerbs listings. I saved the INI file and it worked! So for me these steps were necessary next to the ExtensionlessUrlHandler hints.

Setting the timeout in the web.xml is the correct way to set the timeout.

You can try something like this:

Noticed this was never resolved... You likely have a firewall in front of your machine blocking those ports, or iptables is set up to prevent the use of those ports.

Try running nmap -F localhost when you run your app (install nmap if you don't have it). If it appears that you're running the app on the correct port and you can't access it via a remote browser then there is some middleware or a physical firewall that's blocking the port.

A few people before me mentioned the .pop trick to delete and create a key in a one-liner.

I personally find the more explicit implementation more readable:

There is no standard macro that is set according to C standard. Some C compilers will set one on some platforms (e.g. Apple's patched GCC sets a macro to indicate that it is compiling on an Apple system and for the Darwin platform). Your platform and/or your C compiler might set something as well, but there is no general way.

Like hayalci said, it's best to have these macros set in your build process somehow. It is easy to define a macro with most compilers without modifying the code. You can simply pass -D MACRO to GCC, i.e.

It should be noted in the documentation that IN BOOLEAN MODE will almost always return a relevance of 1.0. In order to get a relevance that is meaningful, you'll need to:

Notice that you are doing a regular relevance query to obtain relevance factors combined with a WHERE clause that uses BOOLEAN MODE. The BOOLEAN MODE gives you the subset that fulfills the requirements of the BOOLEAN search, the relevance query fulfills the relevance factor, and the HAVING clause (in this case) ensures that the document is relevant to the search (i.e. documents that score less than 0.2 are considered irrelevant). This also allows you to order by relevance.

This may or may not be a bug in the way that IN BOOLEAN MODE operates, although the comments I've read on the mailing list suggest that IN BOOLEAN MODE's relevance ranking is not very complicated, thus lending itself poorly for actually providing relevant documents. BTW - I didn't notice a performance loss for doing this, since it appears MySQL only performs the FULLTEXT search once, even though the two MATCH clauses are different. Use EXPLAIN to prove this.

So it would seem you may not need to worry about calling the fulltext search twice, though you still should "use EXPLAIN to prove this"

This issue is not about "Trust" or not. It's a bug in Xcode.

math.floor will always return an integer number and thus int(math.floor(some_float)) will never introduce rounding errors.

The rounding error might already be introduced in math.floor(some_large_float), though, or even when storing a large number in a float in the first place. (Large numbers may lose precision when stored in floats.)

There are several possible causes.

1. The other end has deliberately reset the connection, in a way which I will not document here. It is rare, and generally incorrect, for application software to do this, but it is not unknown for commercial software.

3. It can also be caused by closing a socket when there is unread data in the socket receive buffer.

Sounds like you are using Microsoft Visual C++. If that is the case, then the most possibility is that you don't compile your two.cpp with one.cpp (one.cpp is the implementation for one.h).

If you are from command line (cmd.exe), then try this first: cl -o two.exe one.cpp two.cpp

If you are from IDE, right click on the project name from Solution Explore. Then choose Add, Existing Item.... Add one.cpp into your project.

Much of the reason that it took > 48 hours to do your inserts is because of your indexes. It is incredibly faster to:

1 - Drop all indexes 2 - Do all inserts 3 - Create indexes again

If you try to decrypt PKCS5-padded data with the wrong key, and then unpad it (which is done by the Cipher class automatically), you most likely will get the BadPaddingException (with probably of slightly less than 255/256, around 99.61%), because the padding has a special structure which is validated during unpad and very few keys would produce a valid padding.

So, if you get this exception, catch it and treat it as "wrong key".

This also can happen when you provide a wrong password, which then is used to get the key from a keystore, or which is converted into a key using a key generation function.

Of course, bad padding can also happen if your data is corrupted in transport.

That said, there are some security remarks about your scheme:

• For password-based encryption, you should use a SecretKeyFactory and PBEKeySpec instead of using a SecureRandom with KeyGenerator. The reason is that the SecureRandom could be a different algorithm on each Java implementation, giving you a different key. The SecretKeyFactory does the key derivation in a defined manner (and a manner which is deemed secure, if you select the right algorithm).

• Don't use ECB-mode. It encrypts each block independently, which means that identical plain text blocks also give always identical ciphertext blocks.

  Preferably use a secure mode of operation, like CBC (Cipher block chaining) or CTR (Counter). Alternatively, use a mode which also includes authentication, like GCM (Galois-Counter mode) or CCM (Counter with CBC-MAC), see next point.

• You normally don't want only confidentiality, but also authentication, which makes sure the message is not tampered with. (This also prevents chosen-ciphertext attacks on your cipher, i.e. helps for confidentiality.) So, add a MAC (message authentication code) to your message, or use a cipher mode which includes authentication (see previous point).

• DES has an effective key size of only 56 bits. This key space is quite small, it can be brute-forced in some hours by a dedicated attacker. If you generate your key by a password, this will get even faster. Also, DES has a block size of only 64 bits, which adds some more weaknesses in chaining modes. Use a modern algorithm like AES instead, which has a block size of 128 bits, and a key size of 128 bits (for the standard variant).

Adapted from this answer to a very similar question:

You should run this command from within your d:\study folder. It will delete all subfolders which are older than 10 days.

The /S /Q after the rd makes it delete folders even if they are not empty, without prompting.

I suggest you put the above command into a .bat file, and save it as d:\study\cleanup.bat.

Use the format() function:

Answer to updated question: the obvious difference is that server-side checks are reliable, client-side checks are not.

They are not the same thing.

x:Name is a xaml concept, used mainly to reference elements. When you give an element the x:Name xaml attribute, "the specified x:Name becomes the name of a field that is created in the underlying code when xaml is processed, and that field holds a reference to the object." (MSDN) So, it's a designer-generated field, which has internal access by default.

Name is the existing string property of a FrameworkElement, listed as any other wpf element property in the form of a xaml attribute.

As a consequence, this also means x:Name can be used on a wider range of objects. This is a technique to enable anything in xaml to be referenced by a given name.

fmt.X print statements do work inside tests, but you will find their output is probably not on screen where you expect to find it and, hence, why you should use the logging methods in testing.

Edit (2018): Since this was written in 2011, the speed of direct method calls has greatly increased while the speed of overloaded methods have not.

It is not an approach I would recommend, but it is a worthwhile thought exercise to think about how you can solve these types of problems.

Here is a benchmark of the different approaches - https://jsperf.com/function-overloading. It shows that function overloading (taking types into account) can be around 13 times slower in Google Chrome's V8 as of 16.0(beta).

As well as passing an object (i.e. {x: 0, y: 0}), one can also take the C approach when appropriate, naming the methods accordingly. For example, Vector.AddVector(vector), Vector.AddIntegers(x, y, z, ...) and Vector.AddArray(integerArray). You can look at C libraries, such as OpenGL for naming inspiration.

Edit: I've added a benchmark for passing an object and testing for the object using both 'param' in arg and arg.hasOwnProperty('param'), and function overloading is much faster than passing an object and checking for properties (in this benchmark at least).

From a design perspective, function overloading is only valid or logical if the overloaded parameters correspond to the same action. So it stands to reason that there ought to be an underlying method that is only concerned with specific details, otherwise that may indicate inappropriate design choices. So one could also resolve the use of function overloading by converting data to a respective object. Of course one must consider the scope of the problem as there's no need in making elaborate designs if your intention is just to print a name, but for the design of frameworks and libraries such thought is justified.

My example comes from a Rectangle implementation - hence the mention of Dimension and Point. Perhaps Rectangle could add a GetRectangle() method to the Dimension and Point prototype, and then the function overloading issue is sorted. And what about primitives? Well, we have argument length, which is now a valid test since objects have a GetRectangle() method.

The results container div has position: relative meaning it is still in the document flow and will change the layout of elements around it. You need to use position: absolute to achieve a 'floating' effect.

You should also check the markup you're using, you have phantom <li>s with no container <ul>, you could probably replace both the div#suggestions and div#autoSuggestionsList with a single <ul> and get the desired result.

The before and after pseudo-selectors don't insert HTML elements — they insert text before or after the existing content of the targeted element. Because image elements don't contain text or have descendants, neither img:before or img:after will do you any good. This is also the case for elements like <br> and <hr> for the same reason.

It might be a conflict with the same port specified in docker-compose.yml and docker-compose.override.yml or the same port specified explicitly and using an environment variable.

I had a docker-compose.yml with ports on a container specified using environment variables, and a docker-compose.override.yml with one of the same ports specified explicitly. Apparently docker tried to open both on the same container. docker container ls -a listed neither because the container could not start and list the ports.

Type it in your console and you will get a list of your git history along with SHA-1 representing them.

Simply checkout any SHA-1 that you wish to revert to

Before answering let's add some background, explaining what is this HEAD.

First of all what is HEAD?

HEAD is simply a reference to the current commit (latest) on the current branch.
There can only be a single HEAD at any given time. (excluding git worktree)

The content of HEAD is stored inside .git/HEAD and it contains the 40 bytes SHA-1 of the current commit.

detached HEAD

If you are not on the latest commit - meaning that HEAD is pointing to a prior commit in history its called detached HEAD.

On the command line, it will look like this- SHA-1 instead of the branch name since the HEAD is not pointing to the tip of the current branch

A few options on how to recover from a detached HEAD:

git checkout

git checkout <commit_id>
git checkout -b <new branch> <commit_id>
git checkout HEAD~X // x is the number of commits t go back

This will checkout new branch pointing to the desired commit.
This command will checkout to a given commit.
At this point, you can create a branch and start to work from this point on.

# Checkout a given commit. 
# Doing so will result in a `detached HEAD` which mean that the `HEAD`
# is not pointing to the latest so you will need to checkout branch
# in order to be able to update the code.
git checkout <commit-id>

# create a new branch forked to the given commit

git reflog

You can always use the reflog as well.
git reflog will display any change which updated the HEAD and checking out the desired reflog entry will set the HEAD back to this commit.

Every time the HEAD is modified there will be a new entry in the reflog

git reflog
git checkout HEAD@{...}

This will get you back to your desired commit

git reset --hard <commit_id>

"Move" your HEAD back to the desired commit.

# This will destroy any local modifications.
# Don't do it if you have uncommitted work you want to keep.
git reset --hard 0d1d7fc32

# Alternatively, if there's work to keep:
git stash
git reset --hard 0d1d7fc32
git stash pop
# This saves the modifications, then reapplies that patch after resetting.

  you can also use the git rebase --no-autostash as well.

git revert <sha-1>

"Undo" the given commit or commit range.
The reset command will "undo" any changes made in the given commit.
A new commit with the undo patch will be committed while the original commit will remain in the history as well.

# the <sha-1> can be any commit(s) or commit range
git revert <sha-1>

This schema illustrates which command does what.
As you can see there reset && checkout modify the HEAD.

If your query consists only of the $where operator, you can pass in just the JavaScript expression:

For greater performance, run an aggregate operation that has a $redact pipeline to filter the documents which satisfy the given condition.

The $redact pipeline incorporates the functionality of $project and $match to implement field level redaction where it will return all documents matching the condition using $$KEEP and removes from the pipeline results those that don't match using the $$PRUNE variable.

Running the following aggregate operation filter the documents more efficiently than using $where for large collections as this uses a single pipeline and native MongoDB operators, rather than JavaScript evaluations with $where, which can slow down the query:

in my case, The error message was

Module not found: Error: Can't resolve '/components/body

While everything was in the correct directory.

I found that renaming body.jsx to body.js resolve the issue!

So I added this code in webpack.config.js to resolve jsx as js

And then build error gone!

If you just want to set the same color to every separator and it is opaque you can use:

If you want to use different colors for the separators or clear the separator color or use a color with alpha.

BE CAREFUL: You have to know that there is a backgroundView in the separator that has a default color.

To change it you can use this functions:

If my understanding is correct (postgres has tbla and dbtest has tblb and you want remote insert with local select, not remote select with local insert as above):

I don't like that nested dblink, but AFAIK I can't reference to tblB in dblink_exec body. Use LIMIT to specify top 20 rows, but I think you need to sort them using ORDER BY clause first.

HTTP 2.0 is a binary protocol that multiplexes numerous streams going over a single (normally TLS-encrypted) TCP connection.

This was caused because of something like this in my case:

For me I changed in the parent tag of the pom.xml and it solved it change 2.1.5 to 2.1.4 then Maven-> Update Project. its worked for me also.

This is untested code, but the principle is that you choose the table cell in each row that corresponds to the chosen index extracted from the checkbox name. You could of course limit the selectors with a class or an ID.

I am fighting the soft keyboard on the Honeywell Dolphin 70e with Android 4.0.3. I don't need the keyboard because the input comes from the builtin barcode reader through the 'scanwedge', set to generate key events.

What I found was that the trick described in the earlier answers of:

input.blur();
input.focus();

works, but only once, right at page initialization. It puts the focus in the input element without showing the soft keyboard. It does NOT work later, e.g. after a TAB character in the suffix of the barcode causes the onblur or oninput event on the input element.

To read and process lots of barcodes, you may use a different postfix than TAB (9), e.g. 8, which is not interpreted by the browser. In the input.keydown event, use e.keyCode == 8 to detect a complete barcode to be processed.

This way, you initialize the page with focus in the input element, with keyboard hidden, all barcodes go to the input element, and the focus never leaves that element. Of course, the page cannot have other input elements (like buttons), because then you will not be able to return to the barcode input element with the soft keyboard hidden.

Perhaps reloading the page after a button click may be able to hide the keyboard. So use ajax for fast processing of barcodes, and use a regular asp.net button with PostBack to process a button click and reload the page to return focus to the barcode input with the keyboard hidden.

In later Elasticsearch versions (7.x), types were removed. Updating a mapping can becomes:

As others have pointed out, if the field exists, you typically have to reindex. There are exceptions, such as adding a new sub-field or changing analysis settings.

You can't "create a mapping", as the mapping is created with the index. Typically, you'd define the mapping when creating the index (or via index templates):
