Private static variables are useful in the same way that private instance variables are useful: they store state which is accessed only by code within the same class. The accessibility (private/public/etc) and the instance/static nature of the variable are entirely orthogonal concepts.

I would avoid thinking of static variables as being shared between "all instances" of the class - that suggests there has to be at least one instance for the state to be present. No - a static variable is associated with the type itself instead of any instances of the type.

So any time you want some state which is associated with the type rather than any particular instance, and you want to keep that state private (perhaps allowing controlled access via properties, for example) it makes sense to have a private static variable.

As an aside, I would strongly recommend that the only type of variables which you make public (or even non-private) are constants - static final variables of immutable types. Everything else should be private for the sake of separating API and implementation (amongst other things).

From my experience and Maven best practices there are two kinds of "parent poms"

• "company" parent pom - this pom contains your company specific information and configuration that inherit every pom and doesn't need to be copied. These informations are:

  • repositories
  • distribution managment sections
  • common plugins configurations (like maven-compiler-plugin source and target versions)
  • organization, developers, etc

  Preparing this parent pom need to be done with caution, because all your company poms will inherit from it, so this pom have to be mature and stable (releasing a version of parent pom should not affect to release all your company projects!)

• second kind of parent pom is a multimodule parent. I prefer your first solution - this is a default maven convention for multi module projects, very often represents VCS code structure

The intention is to be scalable to a large scale build so should be scalable to a large number of projects and artifacts.

Mutliprojects have structure of trees - so you aren't arrown down to one level of parent pom. Try to find a suitable project struture for your needs - a classic exmample is how to disrtibute mutimodule projects

A few bonus questions:

• Where is the best place to define the various shared configuration as in source control, deployment directories, common plugins etc. (I'm assuming the parent but I've often been bitten by this and they've ended up in each project rather than a common one).

This configuration has to be wisely splitted into a "company" parent pom and project parent pom(s). Things related to all you project go to "company" parent and this related to current project go to project one's.

• How do the maven-release plugin, hudson and nexus deal with how you set up your multi-projects (possibly a giant question, it's more if anyone has been caught out when by how a multi-project build has been set up)?

Company parent pom have to be released first. For multiprojects standard rules applies. CI server need to know all to build the project correctly.

Exit from Python. This is implemented by raising the SystemExit exception, so cleanup actions specified by finally clauses of try statements are honored, and it is possible to intercept the exit attempt at an outer level.

The optional argument arg can be an integer giving the exit status (defaulting to zero), or another type of object. If it is an integer, zero is considered “successful termination” and any nonzero value is considered “abnormal termination” by shells and the like. Most systems require it to be in the range 0-127, and produce undefined results otherwise. Some systems have a convention for assigning specific meanings to specific exit codes, but these are generally underdeveloped; Unix programs generally use 2 for command line syntax errors and 1 for all other kind of errors. Since exit() ultimately “only” raises an exception, it will only exit the process when called from the main thread, and the exception is not intercepted.

Note that this is the 'nice' way to exit. @glyphtwistedmatrix below points out that if you want a 'hard exit', you can use os._exit(*errorcode*), though it's likely os-specific to some extent (it might not take an errorcode under windows, for example), and it definitely is less friendly since it doesn't let the interpreter do any cleanup before the process dies. On the other hand, it does kill the entire process, including all running threads, while sys.exit() (as it says in the docs) only exits if called from the main thread, with no other threads running.

Just to clarify, the documentation for select2-selecting reads:

select2-selecting Fired when a choice is being selected in the dropdown, but before any modification has been made to the selection. This event is used to allow the user to reject selection by calling event.preventDefault()

whereas change has:

change Fired when selection is changed.

So change may be more appropriate for your needs, depending on whether you want the selection to complete and then do your event, or potentially block the change.

In some languages this can be solved with tail call optimization, where the recursion call is transformed under the hood into a loop so no maximum stack size reached error exists.

But in javascript the current engines don't support this, it's foreseen for new version of the language Ecmascript 6.

Node.js has some flags to enable ES6 features but tail call is not yet available.

So you can refactor your code to implement a technique called trampolining, or refactor in order to transform recursion into a loop.

These values must be in meters for a specific map projection. For example, the peak of Mount Assiniboine (at 50°52'10"N 115°39'03"W) in UTM Zone 11 is represented by 11U 594934.108296 5636174.091274 where (594934.108296, 5636174.091274) are in meters.

Take this link and replace the expression "VIDEOID" with the (shortened/shared) ID of the video.

What you get as a result is the standalone 1080p video but not in the Tube environment.

The web.xml file should be listed right below the last line in your screenshot and resides in WebContent/WEB-INF. If it is missing you might have missed to check the "Generate web.xml deployment descriptor" option on the third page of the Dynamic web project wizard.

I would suggest that you use Apache's commons logging utility. It is highly scalable and supports separate log files for different loggers. See here.

In my case, passing responsive: false under options solved the problem. I'm not sure why everybody is telling you to do the opposite, especially since true is the default.

1. Right click on project, Properties, Java Build Path.
2. Remove the current JRE library.
3. Click Add library > JRE System Library > Workspace default JRE.

If you don't want to use the url helper, you can get the same results by using the following variable:

$this->config->config['base_url']

It will return the base url for you with no extra steps required.

Two other ways are strcpy(str, ""); and string[0] = 0

To really delete the Variable contents (in case you have dirty code which is not working properly with the snippets above :P ) use a loop like in the example below.

In case you want to clear a dynamic allocated array of chars from the beginning, you may either use a combination of malloc() and memset() or - and this is way faster - calloc() which does the same thing as malloc but initializing the whole array with Null.

At last i want you to have your runtime in mind. All the way more, if you're handling huge arrays (6 digits and above) you should try to set the first value to Null instead of running memset() through the whole String.

It may look dirtier at first, but is way faster. You just need to pay more attention on your code ;)

It's not the best answer, but its also an option: since you can concatenate multiple expressions, but just the last one is rendered, you can finish your expression with "" and your variable will be hidden.

So, you could define the variable with:

In Eclipse;

1. Right click on your project folder > Team > Refresh/Cleanup.
2. In Eclipse window, select clean option under Project menu item
3. Finally, restart Eclipse

@ImportanceOfBeingErnest 's answer is good if you only want to change the linewidth inside the legend box. But I think it is a bit more complex since you have to copy the handles before changing legend linewidth. Besides, it can not change the legend label fontsize. The following two methods can not only change the linewidth but also the legend label text font size in a more concise way.

There once existed a plugin called JSEclipse that Adobe has subsequently sucked up and killed by making it available only by purchasing and installing FlexBuilder 3 (please someone prove me wrong). I found it to worked excellent but have since lost it since "upgrading" from Eclipse 3.4 to 3.4.1.

The feature I liked most was Content Outline.

In the Outline window of your Eclipse Screen, JSEclipse lists all classes in the currently opened file. It provides an overview of the class hierarchy and also method and property names. The outline makes heavy use of the code completion engine to find out more about how the code is structured. By clicking on the function entry in the list the cursor will be taken to the function declaration helping you navigate faster in long files with lots of class and method definitions

The difference is that if you only specify the DOCTYPE, IE’s Compatibility View Settings take precedence. By default these settings force all intranet sites into Compatibility View regardless of DOCTYPE. There’s also a checkbox to use Compatibility View for all websites, regardless of DOCTYPE.

X-UA-Compatible overrides the Compatibility View Settings, so the page will render in standards mode regardless of the browser settings. This forces standards mode for:

• intranet pages
• external web pages when the computer administrator has chosen “Display all websites in Compatibility View” as the default—think big companies, governments, universities

I had the same issue and did all the tips with no luck. Finally when I changed password to something different, for some reason it worked! (the initial password or the new one did not have any special characters)

Put the text file in the assets directory. If there isnt an assets dir create one in the root of the project. Then you can use Context.getAssets().open("BlockForTest.txt"); to open a stream to this file.

Python 3.7 introduces 6 new time functions with nanosecond resolution, for example instead of time.time() you can use time.time_ns() to avoid floating point imprecision issues:

These functions are similar to the version without the _ns suffix, but return a number of nanoseconds as a Python int.

If the situation is an urgent one, and you just want to do what the questioner asked in a quick and dirty way, assuming your project is under a directory called, for example, "my project":

QUICK AND DIRTY: depending on the circumstances, quick and dirty may in fact be very GOOD. What my solution here does is NOT replace irreversibly the files you have in your working directory with files hauled up/extracted from the depths of the git repository lurking beneath your .git/ directory using fiendishly clever and diabolically powerful git commands, of which there are many. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO SUCH DEEP-SEA DIVING TO RECOVER what may appear to be a disastrous situation, and attempting to do so without sufficient expertise may prove fatal.

1. Copy the whole directory and call it something else, like "my project - copy". Assuming your git repository ("repo") files are under the "my project" directory (the default place for them, under a directory called ".git"), you will now have copied both your work files and your repo files.

2. Do this in the directory "my project":

   .../my project $ git reset --hard [first-4-letters&numbers-of-commit's-SHA]
   

This will return the state of the repo under "my project" to what it was when you made that commit (a "commit" means a snapshot of your working files). All commits since then will be lost forever under "my project", BUT... they will still be present in the repo under "my project - copy" since you copied all those files - including the ones under .../.git/.

You then have two versions on your system... you can examine or copy or modify files of interest, or whatever, from the previous commit. You can completely discard the files under "my project - copy", if you have decided the new work since the restored commit was going nowhere...

The obvious thing if you want to carry on with the state of the project without actually discarding the work since this retrieved commit is to rename your directory again: Delete the project containing the retrieved commit (or give it a temporary name) and rename your "my project - copy" directory back to "my project". Then maybe try to understand some of the other answers here, and probably do another commit fairly soon.

Git is a brilliant creation but absolutely no-one is able to just "pick it up on the fly": also people who try to explain it far too often assume prior knowledge of other VCS [Version Control Systems] and delve far too deep far too soon, and commit other crimes, like using interchangeable terms for "checking out" - in ways which sometimes appear almost calculated to confuse a beginner.

To save yourself much stress, learn from my scars. You have to pretty much have to read a book on Git - I'd recommend "Version Control with Git". Do it sooner rather than later. If you do, bear in mind that much of the complexity of Git comes from branching and then remerging: you can skip those parts in any book. From your question there's no reason why people should be blinding you with science.

Especially if, for example, this is a desperate situation and you're a newbie with Git!

PS: One other thought: It is (now) actually quite simple to keep the Git repo in a directory other than the one with the working files. This would mean you would not have to copy the entire Git repository using the above quick & dirty solution. See the answer by Fryer using --separate-git-dir here. Be warned, though: If you have a "separate-directory" repository which you don't copy, and you do a hard reset, all versions subsequent to the reset commit will be lost forever, unless you have, as you absolutely should, regularly backed up your repository, preferably to the Cloud (e.g. Google Drive) among other places.

On this subject of "backing up to the Cloud", the next step is to open an account (free of course) with GitHub or (better in my view) GitLab. You can then regularly do a git push command to make your Cloud repo up-to-date "properly". But again, talking about this may be too much too soon.

In later versions (tested with TensorFlow 1.14) there's a more numpy-like way to get the shape of a tensor. You can use tensor.shape to get the shape of the tensor.

Apache Commons Lang does indeed have a StringUtils.join method which will connect String arrays together with a specified separator.

If the pop-up's document is from a different domain, this is simply not possible.

Update April 2015: I was wrong about this: if you own both domains, you can use window.postMessage and the message event in pretty much all browsers that are relevant today.

If not, there's still no way you'll be able to make this work cross-browser without some help from the document being loaded into the pop-up. You need to be able to detect a change in the pop-up that occurs once it has loaded, which could be a variable that JavaScript in the pop-up page sets when it handles its own load event, or if you have some control of it you could add a call to a function in the opener.

There are multiple classes that are grouped together as "numeric" classes, the 2 most common of which are double (for double precision floating point numbers) and integer. R will automatically convert between the numeric classes when needed, so for the most part it does not matter to the casual user whether the number 3 is currently stored as an integer or as a double. Most math is done using double precision, so that is often the default storage.

Sometimes you may want to specifically store a vector as integers if you know that they will never be converted to doubles (used as ID values or indexing) since integers require less storage space. But if they are going to be used in any math that will convert them to double, then it will probably be quickest to just store them as doubles to begin with.

The advantage here is the dispatcher can be easily reused and doesn't have to receive the dispatch queue as an argument, instead it comes implicit with the invocation name...

In the end, the general case presented here would be "using the function name as an argument so you don't have to pass it explicitly", and that could be useful in many cases, such as the jquery animate() optional callback, or in timeouts/intervals callbacks, (ie you only pass a funcion NAME).

The problem is that even JavaScript does not see the option element being hovered. This is just to put emphasis on how it's not going to be solved (any time soon at least) by using just CSS:

myList[0] gets the first item in the list. Since the list is empty there is no item to get and you get the IndexOutOfRangeException instead.

As other answers here have shown, in order to check if the list is empty you need to get the number of elements in the list (myList.Count) or use the LINQ method .Any() which will return true if there are any elements in the list.

While this is not a GUI tool, my quick tests indicated that diffxml has some promise. The author appears to have thought about the complexities of representing diffs for nested elements in a standardized way (his DUL - Delta Update Language specification).

Installing and running his tools, I can say that the raw text output is quite clear and concise. It doesn't offer the same degree of immediate apprehension as a GUI tool, but given that the output is standardized as DUL, perhaps you would be able to take that and build a tool to generate a visual representation. I'd certainly love to see one.

1. Block all uploaded images until one of your administrators has looked at them. If you are saving this information in a database, its wrong to escape HTML using a client-side script, this should be done in the server. Otherwise its easy to bypass your XSS protection.

• A Tour of C++ (Bjarne Stroustrup) (2nd edition for C++17) The “tour” is a quick (about 180 pages and 14 chapters) tutorial overview of all of standard C++ (language and standard library, and using C++11) at a moderately high level for people who already know C++ or at least are experienced programmers. This book is an extended version of the material that constitutes Chapters 2-5 of The C++ Programming Language, 4th edition.

• Accelerated C++ (Andrew Koenig and Barbara Moo, 1st Edition - August 24, 2000) This basically covers the same ground as the C++ Primer, but does so on a fourth of its space. This is largely because it does not attempt to be an introduction to programming, but an introduction to C++ for people who've previously programmed in some other language. It has a steeper learning curve, but, for those who can cope with this, it is a very compact introduction to the language. (Historically, it broke new ground by being the first beginner's book to use a modern approach to teaching the language.) Despite this, the C++ it teaches is purely C++98. [Review]

Best practices

• Effective C++ (Scott Meyers, 3rd Edition - May 22, 2005) This was written with the aim of being the best second book C++ programmers should read, and it succeeded. Earlier editions were aimed at programmers coming from C, the third edition changes this and targets programmers coming from languages like Java. It presents ~50 easy-to-remember rules of thumb along with their rationale in a very accessible (and enjoyable) style. For C++11 and C++14 the examples and a few issues are outdated and Effective Modern C++ should be preferred. [Review]

• Effective Modern C++ (Scott Meyers) This is basically the new version of Effective C++, aimed at C++ programmers making the transition from C++03 to C++11 and C++14.

• Effective STL (Scott Meyers) This aims to do the same to the part of the standard library coming from the STL what Effective C++ did to the language as a whole: It presents rules of thumb along with their rationale. [Review]

Intermediate

• More Effective C++ (Scott Meyers) Even more rules of thumb than Effective C++. Not as important as the ones in the first book, but still good to know.

• Exceptional C++ (Herb Sutter) Presented as a set of puzzles, this has one of the best and thorough discussions of the proper resource management and exception safety in C++ through Resource Acquisition is Initialization (RAII) in addition to in-depth coverage of a variety of other topics including the pimpl idiom, name lookup, good class design, and the C++ memory model. [Review]

• More Exceptional C++ (Herb Sutter) Covers additional exception safety topics not covered in Exceptional C++, in addition to discussion of effective object-oriented programming in C++ and correct use of the STL. [Review]

• Exceptional C++ Style (Herb Sutter) Discusses generic programming, optimization, and resource management; this book also has an excellent exposition of how to write modular code in C++ by using non-member functions and the single responsibility principle. [Review]

• C++ Coding Standards (Herb Sutter and Andrei Alexandrescu) “Coding standards” here doesn't mean “how many spaces should I indent my code?” This book contains 101 best practices, idioms, and common pitfalls that can help you to write correct, understandable, and efficient C++ code. [Review]

• C++ Templates: The Complete Guide (David Vandevoorde and Nicolai M. Josuttis) This is the book about templates as they existed before C++11. It covers everything from the very basics to some of the most advanced template metaprogramming and explains every detail of how templates work (both conceptually and at how they are implemented) and discusses many common pitfalls. Has excellent summaries of the One Definition Rule (ODR) and overload resolution in the appendices. A second edition covering C++11, C++14 and C++17 has been already published. [Review]

• C++ 17 - The Complete Guide (Nicolai M. Josuttis) This book describes all the new features introduced in the C++17 Standard covering everything from the simple ones like 'Inline Variables', 'constexpr if' all the way up to 'Polymorphic Memory Resources' and 'New and Delete with overaligned Data'. [Review]

• C++ in Action (Bartosz Milewski). This book explains C++ and its features by building an application from ground up. [Review]

• Functional Programming in C++ (Ivan Cukic). This book introduces functional programming techniques to modern C++ (C++11 and later). A very nice read for those who want to apply functional programming paradigms to C++.

• Professional C++ (Marc Gregoire, 5th Edition - Feb 2021) Provides a comprehensive and detailed tour of the C++ language implementation replete with professional tips and concise but informative in-text examples, emphasizing C++20 features. Uses C++20 features, such as modules and std::format throughout all examples.

Advanced

• Modern C++ Design (Andrei Alexandrescu) A groundbreaking book on advanced generic programming techniques. Introduces policy-based design, type lists, and fundamental generic programming idioms then explains how many useful design patterns (including small object allocators, functors, factories, visitors, and multi-methods) can be implemented efficiently, modularly, and cleanly using generic programming. [Review]

• C++ Template Metaprogramming (David Abrahams and Aleksey Gurtovoy)

• C++ Concurrency In Action (Anthony Williams) A book covering C++11 concurrency support including the thread library, the atomics library, the C++ memory model, locks and mutexes, as well as issues of designing and debugging multithreaded applications. A second edition covering C++14 and C++17 has been already published. [Review]

• Advanced C++ Metaprogramming (Davide Di Gennaro) A pre-C++11 manual of TMP techniques, focused more on practice than theory. There are a ton of snippets in this book, some of which are made obsolete by type traits, but the techniques, are nonetheless useful to know. If you can put up with the quirky formatting/editing, it is easier to read than Alexandrescu, and arguably, more rewarding. For more experienced developers, there is a good chance that you may pick up something about a dark corner of C++ (a quirk) that usually only comes about through extensive experience.

Reference Style - All Levels

• The C++ Programming Language (Bjarne Stroustrup) (updated for C++11) The classic introduction to C++ by its creator. Written to parallel the classic K&R, this indeed reads very much like it and covers just about everything from the core language to the standard library, to programming paradigms to the language's philosophy. [Review] Note: All releases of the C++ standard are tracked in the question "Where do I find the current C or C++ standard documents?".

• C++ Standard Library Tutorial and Reference (Nicolai Josuttis) (updated for C++11) The introduction and reference for the C++ Standard Library. The second edition (released on April 9, 2012) covers C++11. [Review]

• The C++ IO Streams and Locales (Angelika Langer and Klaus Kreft) There's very little to say about this book except that, if you want to know anything about streams and locales, then this is the one place to find definitive answers. [Review]

C++11/14/17/… References:

• The C++11/14/17 Standard (INCITS/ISO/IEC 14882:2011/2014/2017) This, of course, is the final arbiter of all that is or isn't C++. Be aware, however, that it is intended purely as a reference for experienced users willing to devote considerable time and effort to its understanding. The C++17 standard is released in electronic form for 198 Swiss Francs.

• The C++17 standard is available, but seemingly not in an economical form – directly from the ISO it costs 198 Swiss Francs (about $200 US). For most people, the final draft before standardization is more than adequate (and free). Many will prefer an even newer draft, documenting new features that are likely to be included in C++20.

• Overview of the New C++ (C++11/14) (PDF only) (Scott Meyers) (updated for C++14) These are the presentation materials (slides and some lecture notes) of a three-day training course offered by Scott Meyers, who's a highly respected author on C++. Even though the list of items is short, the quality is high.

• The C++ Core Guidelines (C++11/14/17/…) (edited by Bjarne Stroustrup and Herb Sutter) is an evolving online document consisting of a set of guidelines for using modern C++ well. The guidelines are focused on relatively higher-level issues, such as interfaces, resource management, memory management and concurrency affecting application architecture and library design. The project was announced at CppCon'15 by Bjarne Stroustrup and others and welcomes contributions from the community. Most guidelines are supplemented with a rationale and examples as well as discussions of possible tool support. Many rules are designed specifically to be automatically checkable by static analysis tools.

• The C++ Super-FAQ (Marshall Cline, Bjarne Stroustrup and others) is an effort by the Standard C++ Foundation to unify the C++ FAQs previously maintained individually by Marshall Cline and Bjarne Stroustrup and also incorporating new contributions. The items mostly address issues at an intermediate level and are often written with a humorous tone. Not all items might be fully up to date with the latest edition of the C++ standard yet.

• cppreference.com (C++03/11/14/17/…) (initiated by Nate Kohl) is a wiki that summarizes the basic core-language features and has extensive documentation of the C++ standard library. The documentation is very precise but is easier to read than the official standard document and provides better navigation due to its wiki nature. The project documents all versions of the C++ standard and the site allows filtering the display for a specific version. The project was presented by Nate Kohl at CppCon'14.

Classics / Older

• The Design and Evolution of C++ (Bjarne Stroustrup) If you want to know why the language is the way it is, this book is where you find answers. This covers everything before the standardization of C++.

• Ruminations on C++ - (Andrew Koenig and Barbara Moo) [Review]

• Advanced C++ Programming Styles and Idioms (James Coplien) A predecessor of the pattern movement, it describes many C++-specific “idioms”. It's certainly a very good book and might still be worth a read if you can spare the time, but quite old and not up-to-date with current C++.

• Large Scale C++ Software Design (John Lakos) Lakos explains techniques to manage very big C++ software projects. Certainly, a good read, if it only was up to date. It was written long before C++ 98 and misses on many features (e.g. namespaces) important for large-scale projects. If you need to work in a big C++ software project, you might want to read it, although you need to take more than a grain of salt with it. The first volume of a new edition is released in 2019.

• Inside the C++ Object Model (Stanley Lippman) If you want to know how virtual member functions are commonly implemented and how base objects are commonly laid out in memory in a multi-inheritance scenario, and how all this affects performance, this is where you will find thorough discussions of such topics.

• The Annotated C++ Reference Manual (Bjarne Stroustrup, Margaret A. Ellis) This book is quite outdated in the fact that it explores the 1989 C++ 2.0 version - Templates, exceptions, namespaces and new casts were not yet introduced. Saying that however, this book goes through the entire C++ standard of the time explaining the rationale, the possible implementations, and features of the language. This is not a book to learn programming principles and patterns on C++, but to understand every aspect of the C++ language.

• Thinking in C++ (Bruce Eckel, 2nd Edition, 2000). Two volumes; is a tutorial style free set of intro level books. Downloads: vol 1, vol 2. Unfortunately they're marred by a number of trivial errors (e.g. maintaining that temporaries are automatically const), with no official errata list. A partial 3^rd party errata list is available at http://www.computersciencelab.com/Eckel.htm, but it is apparently not maintained.

• Scientific and Engineering C++: An Introduction to Advanced Techniques and Examples (John Barton and Lee Nackman) It is a comprehensive and very detailed book that tried to explain and make use of all the features available in C++, in the context of numerical methods. It introduced at the time several new techniques, such as the Curiously Recurring Template Pattern (CRTP, also called Barton-Nackman trick). It pioneered several techniques such as dimensional analysis and automatic differentiation. It came with a lot of compilable and useful code, ranging from an expression parser to a Lapack wrapper. The code is still available online. Unfortunately, the books have become somewhat outdated in the style and C++ features, however, it was an incredible tour-de-force at the time (1994, pre-STL). The chapters on dynamics inheritance are a bit complicated to understand and not very useful. An updated version of this classic book that includes move semantics and the lessons learned from the STL would be very nice.

A very simple check you can do with Cell formulas:

You need to open all three Excel Documents, then copy the first formula into A1 of your sheet 1 and the second into A1 of sheet 2. Now click in A1 of the first cell and mark "Ref_New", now you can select your reference, go to the new file and click in the A1, go back to sheet1 and do the same for "Ref_Old" with the old file. Replace also the other "Ref_New".

Doe the same for Sheet two.

Now copy the formaula form A1 over the complete range where zour data is in the old and the new file.

But two cases are not covered here:

1. In the compared cell of New and Old is the same data (Resulting Cell will be empty)
2. In the compared cell of New and Old is diffe data (Resulting Cell will be empty)

TCPView (Windows only) from Windows Sysinternals is my favorite app whenever I have a JVM_BIND error. It shows which processes are listening on which port. It also provides a convenient context menu to either kill the process or close the connection that is getting in the way.

Linux Kernel Development by Robert Love (Chapter 12, page 244 in 3rd edition) answers this very clearly.

Yes, physically contiguous memory is not required in many of the cases. Main reason for kmalloc being used more than vmalloc in kernel is performance. The book explains, when big memory chunks are allocated using vmalloc, kernel has to map the physically non-contiguous chunks (pages) into a single contiguous virtual memory region. Since the memory is virtually contiguous and physically non-contiguous, several virtual-to-physical address mappings will have to be added to the page table. And in the worst case, there will be (size of buffer/page size) number of mappings added to the page table.

This also adds pressure on TLB (the cache entries storing recent virtual to physical address mappings) when accessing this buffer. This can lead to thrashing.

If you need to count the char in a string with more then 2 kinds of chars, you can use instead of 'n' - some operator or regex of the chars accept the char you need.

This is a total hack, but here's what I did...

So while playing with setting up a DocumentsProvider, I noticed that the sample code (in getDocIdForFile, around line 450) generates a unique id for a selected document based on the file's (unique) path relative to the specified root you give it (that is, what you set mBaseDir to on line 96).

So the URI ends up looking something like:

content://com.example.provider/document/root:path/to/the/file

As the docs say, it's assuming only a single root (in my case that's Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory() but you may use somewhere else... then it takes the file path, starting at the root, and makes it the unique ID, prepending "root:". So I can determine the path by eliminating the "/document/root:" part from uri.getPath(), creating an actual file path by doing something like this:

Test for year > 2079. I found that a user typo'ed 2106 instead of 2016 in the year (10/12/2106) and boom; so on 10/12/2016 I tested and found SQL Server accepted up to 2078, started throwing that error if the year is 2079 or higher. I have not done any further research as to what kind of date sliding SQL Server does.

I don't think there is a way to do that out-of-the-box. A possibly cleaner solution would be:

After some experimenting, I made some mods to mehow's code as follows:

1. Trap errors (the original code is falling over due to not setting a reference to "VBE", which I also changed to myVBE for clarity)
2. Set the Immediate window to visible (just in case!)
3. Commented out the line to return the focus to the original window as it's this line that causes the code window contents to be deleted on machines where timing issues occur (I verified this with PowerPoint 2013 x32 on Win 7 x64). It seems the focus is switching back before SendKeys has completed, even with Wait set to True!
4. Change the wait state on SendKeys as it doesn't seem to be adhered to on my test environment.

I also noted that the project must have trust for the VBA project object model enabled.

The Safe Area Layout Guide helps avoid underlapping System UI elements when positioning content and controls.

The Safe Area is the area in between System UI elements which are Status Bar, Navigation Bar and Tool Bar or Tab Bar. So when you add a Status bar to your app, the Safe Area shrink. When you add a Navigation Bar to your app, the Safe Area shrinks again.

On the iPhone X, the Safe Area provides additional inset from the top and bottom screen edges in portrait even when no bar is shown. In landscape, the Safe Area is inset from the sides of the screens and the home indicator.

I've tried different solutions. First was:

This is not due to input tags not having any content per-se, but that their content is outside the scope of CSS.

You need to check the folder permissions on your server and check that the account that you are using to run your application has access to that folder.

If your app server is weblogic, then make sure WLProxySSL ON entry exists(and also make sure it should not be commented) in the weblogic.conf file in webserver's conf directory. then restart web server, it will work.

Your guess is right: the code is trying to evaluate x**3+2*x-4 immediately. Unfortunately you can't really prevent it from doing so. The good news is that in Python, functions are first-class objects, by which I mean that you can treat them like any other variable. So to fix your function, we could do:

HTML5 has provided new attribute multiple for input element whose type attribute is file. So you can select multiple files and IE9 and previous versions does not support this.

NOTE: be carefull with the name of the input element. when you want to upload multiple file you should use array and not string as the value of the name attribute.

A join of two tables is best done by a DBMS, so it should be done that way. You could mirror the smaller table or subset of it on one of the databases and then join them. One might get tempted of doing this on an ETL server like informatica but I guess its not advisable if the tables are huge.

I think you have two alternatives. For dom elements such as jQuery and like frameworks give you a good method of iteration. The second approach is the for loop.

1. Use hashes when you only need to go one way. For example, for passwords in a system, you use hashing because you will only ever verify that the value a user entered, after hashing, matches the value in your repository. With encryption, you can go two ways.

2. hashing algorithms and encryption algorithms are just mathematical algorithms. So in that respect they are not different -- its all just mathematical formulas. Now, if the repository is already existing on a remote machine, and you do not have anything locally, you do git clone instead.

The URL format is simple, it is PROTOCOL:/[user@]remoteMachineAddress/path/to/repository.git

I get this error all the time and consider it normal.

It happens when one side tries to read when the other side has already hung up. Thus depending on the protocol this may or may not designate a problem. If my client code specifically indicates to the server that it is going to hang up, then both client and server can hang up at the same time and this message would not happen.

The way I implement my code is for the client to just hang up without saying goodbye. The server can then catch the error and ignore it. In the context of HTTP, I believe one level of the protocol allows more then one request per connection while the other doesn't.

Thus you can see how potentially one side could keep hanging up on the other. I doubt the error you are receiving is of any piratical concern and you could simply catch it to keep it from filling up your log files.

It looks like you don't have any records that match your query, so you'd want to return an empty array (or null or something) if the number of rows == 0.

I know the answers were correct at the time of asking the question - but since people (like me this minute) still happen to find them wondering why their WildFly 10 was behaving differently, I'd like to give an update for the current Hibernate 5.x version:

In the Hibernate 5.2 User Guide it is stated in chapter 11.2. Applying fetch strategies:

The Hibernate recommendation is to statically mark all associations lazy and to use dynamic fetching strategies for eagerness. This is unfortunately at odds with the JPA specification which defines that all one-to-one and many-to-one associations should be eagerly fetched by default. Hibernate, as a JPA provider, honors that default.

So Hibernate as well behaves like Ashish Agarwal stated above for JPA:

For small numbers n%3 == 0 will be fine. For very large numbers I propose to calculate the cross sum first and then check if the cross sum is a multiple of 3:

METHOD 1: I deleted the androidTestCompile on espresso-core line which was automatically included in a new project. Then my Android Studio compiles clean.

The androidTestCompile is in "build.gradle (Module:app)":

METHOD 2: Adding an exclude on findbugs works too:

METHOD 3: Forcing compiling with a specific version:

(In the following I force it to compile with the higher version.)

The -regex find expression matches the whole name, including the relative path from the current directory. For find . this always starts with ./, then any directories.

Also, these are emacs regular expressions, which have other escaping rules than the usual egrep regular expressions.

If these are all directly in the current directory, then

find . -regex '\./[a-f0-9\-]\{36\}\.jpg'

should work. (I'm not really sure - I can't get the counted repetition to work here.) You can switch to egrep expressions by -regextype posix-egrep:

find . -regextype posix-egrep -regex '\./[a-f0-9\-]{36}\.jpg'

(Note that everything said here is for GNU find, I don't know anything about the BSD one which is also the default on Mac.)

If only names of regular files immediately contained within a directory (assume it's ~/dirs) are needed, you can do

find ~/docs -type f -maxdepth 1 > filenames.txt

As user2357112 mentioned in the comments, you cannot use chained comparisons here. For elementwise comparison you need to use &. That also requires using parentheses so that & wouldn't take precedence.

It would go something like this:

In order to avoid that, you can build series for lower and upper limits:

And for assignment you can use np.where:

It should work fine. Don't use tuple, list or other special names as a variable name. It's probably what's causing your problem.
