You probably need to break up your if statement into smaller pieces. That being said, you can do two things:

wrap the statement into do {} while (false) and use real break (not recommended!!! huge kludge!!!)
put the statement into its own subroutine and use return This may be the first step to improving your code.

When use getOne and findOne methods Spring Data JPA

1. Why does the getOne(id) method fail?

See this section in the docs. You overriding the already in place transaction might be causing the issue. However, without more info this one is difficult to answer.

2. When I should use the getOne(id) method?

Without digging into the internals of Spring Data JPA, the difference seems to be in the mechanism used to retrieve the entity.

If you look at the JavaDoc for getOne(ID) under See Also:

it seems that this method just delegates to the JPA entity manager's implementation.

However, the docs for findOne(ID) do not mention this.

The clue is also in the names of the repositories. JpaRepository is JPA specific and therefore can delegate calls to the entity manager if so needed. CrudRepository is agnostic of the persistence technology used. Look here. It's used as a marker interface for multiple persistence technologies like JPA, Neo4J etc.

So there's not really a 'difference' in the two methods for your use cases, it's just that findOne(ID) is more generic than the more specialised getOne(ID). Which one you use is up to you and your project but I would personally stick to the findOne(ID) as it makes your code less implementation specific and opens the doors to move to things like MongoDB etc. in the future without too much refactoring :)

How do I join two SQLite tables in my Android application?

"Ambiguous column" usually means that the same column name appears in at least two tables; the database engine can't tell which one you want. Use full table names or table aliases to remove the ambiguity.

What this does is capture 'contextual' information about the user's session, pieces of information which should not change during the life of a single session. A user isn't going to be at a computer in the US and in China at the same time, right? So if the IP address changes suddenly within the same session that strongly implies a session hijacking attempt, so you secure the session by ending the session and forcing the user to re-authenticate. This thwarts the hack attempt, the attacker is also forced to login instead of gaining access to the session. Notify the user of the attempt (ajax it up a bit), and vola, Slightly annoyed+informed user and their session/information is protected.

We throw in User Agent and X-FORWARDED-FOR to do our best to capture uniqueness of a session for systems behind proxies/networks. You may be able to use more information then that, feel free to be creative.

It's not 100%, but it's pretty damn effective.

There's more you can do to protect sessions, expire them, when a user leaves a website and comes back force them to login again maybe. You can detect a user leaving and coming back by capturing a blank HTTP_REFERER (domain was typed in the URL bar), or check if the value in the HTTP_REFERER equals your domain or not (the user clicked an external/crafted link to get to your site).

Expire sessions, don't let them remain valid indefinitely.

Don't rely on cookies, they can be stolen, it's one of the vectors of attack for session hijacking.

Actually, the Robustness Diagrams (or Analysis Diagrams, as they are sometimes called) are just specialized Class Diagrams. They are a part of UML, and have been from the beginning (see Jacobson's book, The Unified Software Development Process - part of the "Three Amigos" series of books). The aforementioned book has a good definition of these three classes on pp 183-185.

MySQL duplicate entry error even though there is no duplicate entry

I know this wasn't the problem in this case, but I had a similar issue of "Duplicate Entry" when creating a composite primary key:

The error was something like:

#1062 Duplicate entry 'valueA-valueB' for key 'PRIMARY'

So I searched:

After some time I found out that if you have NULL values in these field you receive these errors. In the end the error message was kind of misleading me.

What the other answers suggest will work for the program in question, but it has the potential to cause breakage in other programs and unknown dependence elsewhere. It's better to make a tiny wrapper script:

How to do parallel programming in Python?

The solution, as others have said, is to use multiple processes. Which framework is more appropriate, however, depends on many factors. In addition to the ones already mentioned, there is also charm4py and mpi4py (I am the developer of charm4py).

There is a more efficient way to implement the above example than using the worker pool abstraction. The main loop sends the same parameters (including the complete graph G) over and over to workers in each of the 1000 iterations. Since at least one worker will reside on a different process, this involves copying and sending the arguments to the other process(es). This could be very costly depending on the size of the objects. Instead, it makes sense to have workers store state and simply send the updated information.

For example, in charm4py this can be done like this:

Arguments are automatically passed by reference to worker A, since it is in the same process (there is no copying involved).

What is Ad Hoc Query?

An Ad-Hoc Query is a query that cannot be determined prior to the moment the query is issued. It is created in order to get information when need arises and it consists of dynamically constructed SQL which is usually constructed by desktop-resident query tools. An ad hoc query does not reside in the computer or the database manager but is dynamically created depending on the needs of the data user.

In SQL, an ad hoc query is a loosely typed command/query whose value depends upon some variable. Each time the command is executed, the result is different, depending on the value of the variable. It cannot be predetermined and usually comes under dynamic programming SQL query. An ad hoc query is short lived and is created at runtime.

Here are my findings. I also faced this problem today's morning. I just added my current user to application pool on which application was running.

Steps:

Right Click -> advanced settings
Click on three dot icon beside the identiy
Now select custom account
Give your PC user name and Password
Save

Refresh your application.. and it will start working. There was some security issue for accessing dll.

Worked out my problem the original perl.m points to a Perl installation in the MATLAB folder by updating PATH then calling Perl. The function above points to my Python install. When I called my function.py file, it was in a different directory and called other files in that directory. These where not reflected in the PATH, and I had to easy_install my Python files into my Python distribution.

--transform is a simple string replacement parameter. It will strip the path of the files from the archive so the tarball's root becomes the current directory when extracting. -P tells tar to use absolute paths, so it doesn't trigger the warning "Removing leading `/' from member names". Leading '/' with be removed by --transform anyway.

The answer is simple, if not that obvious: win2008 is 64bit, notepad++ is 32bit. When you navigate to Windows\System32\inetsrv\config using explorer you are using a 64bit program to find the file. When you open the file using using notepad++ you are trying to open it using a 32bit program. The confusion occurs because, rather than telling you that this is what you are doing, windows allows you to open the file but when you save it the file's path is transparently mapped to Windows\SysWOW64\inetsrv\Config.

So in practice what happens is you open applicationhost.config using notepad++, make a change, save the file; but rather than overwriting the original you are saving a 32bit copy of it in Windows\SysWOW64\inetsrv\Config, therefore you are not making changes to the version that is actually used by IIS. If you navigate to the Windows\SysWOW64\inetsrv\Config you will find the file you just saved.

How to get around this? Simple - use a 64bit text editor, such as the normal notepad that ships with windows.

I use what is basically David Sickmiller's answer with a little more automation. I create a (non-executable) file at the top level of my project named activate with the following contents:

This can then be sourced from any current working directory and will properly activate, first setting up the virtual environment if necessary. My top-level test script usually has code along these lines so that it can be run without the developer having to activate first:

There are some good ideas in the existing answers, many work slightly differently and what you choose will also depend on which devices you target and what kind of look you're aiming to achieve. UITabBar is notoriously unintuitive when it come to customizing its appearance, but here are a few more tricks that may help:

1). If you're looking to get rid of the glossy overlay for a more flat look do:

2). To set custom images to the tabBar buttons do something like:

I'm having a very similar problem. In the past, this has been related to serialization problems. If you are still having this problem, can you verify that you can correctly serialize the objects you are returning. Specifically, if you are using Linq-To-Sql objects that have relationships, there are known serialization problems if you put a back reference on a child object to the parent object and mark that back reference as a DataMember.

You can verify serialization by writing a console app that serializes and deserializes your objects using the DataContractSerializer on the server side and whatever serialization methods your client uses. For example, in our current application, we have both WPF and Compact Framework clients. I wrote a console app to verify that I can serialize using a DataContractSerializer and deserialize using an XmlDesserializer. You might try that.

Also, if you are returning Linq-To-Sql objects that have child collections, you might try to ensure that you have eagerly loaded them on the server side. Sometimes, because of lazy loading, the objects being returned are not populated and may cause the behavior you are seeing where the request is sent to the service method multiple times.

If you have solved this problem, I'd love to hear how because I'm stuck with it too. I have verified that my issue is not serialization so I'm at a loss.

UPDATE: I'm not sure if it will help you any but the Service Trace Viewer Tool just solved my problem after 5 days of very similar experience to yours. By setting up tracing and then looking at the raw XML, I found the exceptions that were causing my serialization problems. It was related to Linq-to-SQL objects that occasionally had more child objects than could be successfully serialized. Adding the following to your web.config file should enable tracing:

How do you create a new project/repository?

A git repository is simply a directory containing a special .git directory.

This is different from "centralised" version-control systems (like subversion), where a "repository" is hosted on a remote server, which you checkout into a "working copy" directory. With git, your working copy is the repository.

Simply run git init in the directory which contains the files you wish to track.

For example,

cd ~/code/project001/
git init

This creates a .git (hidden) folder in the current directory.

To make a new project, run git init with an additional argument (the name of the directory to be created):

git init project002

(This is equivalent to: mkdir project002 && cd project002 && git init)

To check if the current current path is within a git repository, simply run git status - if it's not a repository, it will report "fatal: Not a git repository"

You could also list the .git directory, and check it contains files/directories similar to the following:

Git Cherry-pick vs Merge Workflow

In my opinion cherry-picking should be reserved for rare situations where it is required, for example if you did some fix on directly on 'master' branch (trunk, main development branch) and then realized that it should be applied also to 'maint'. You should base workflow either on merge, or on rebase (or "git pull --rebase").

Please remember that cherry-picked or rebased commit is different from the point of view of Git (has different SHA-1 identifier) than the original, so it is different than the commit in remote repository. (Rebase can usually deal with this, as it checks patch id i.e. the changes, not a commit id).

Also in git you can merge many branches at once: so called octopus merge. Note that octopus merge has to succeed without conflicts. Nevertheless it might be useful.

TSQL PIVOT MULTIPLE COLUMNS

Since you want to pivot multiple columns of data, I would first suggest unpivoting the result, score and grade columns so you don't have multiple columns but you will have multiple rows.

Depending on your version of SQL Server you can use the UNPIVOT function or CROSS APPLY. The syntax to unpivot the data will be similar to:

More elegantly - if you want a quick overview of your commits

This will Show just the first line of the last n commit messages.

You can save this as a git alias or a shell alias with a shorter command. I've got it in my shell as glog, for example, and I can see my last 10 commit messages with glog -10.

You should use QuickTime in Yosemite to connect and record the screen of your iOS devices.

iPhone Portrait

When you finished the recording, you can use iMovie to edit the video. When you're working on an iPhone Portrait App Preview, the resolution must be 1080x1920 but iMovie can only export in 16:9 (1920x1080).

One solution would be to imported the recorded video with the resolution 1080x1920 and rotate it 90 degree. Then export the movie at 1920x1080 and rotate the exported video back 90 degrees using ffmpeg and the following command

iPad

The iPad is a little bit trickier because it requires a resolution of 1200x900 (4:3) but iMovie only exports in 16:9.

Here is what I've done.

Import into iMovie and export as 1920x1080, 16:9 (iPadLandscape16_9-1920x1080.mp4)

Remove left and right black bars to a video with 1440x1080. The width of one bar is 240

How to not add scroll to the web page:

If you are not trying to add a scroll, then you can use this JS

This way, the document will get a new height whenever the user would load the page.

Second option is better, because when users would have different screen resolutions they would want a CSS or Style sheet created for their own screen. Not for others!

Keep-alive header clarification

Where is this info kept ("this connection is between computer A and server F")?

A TCP connection is recognized by source IP and port and destination IP and port. Your OS, all intermediate session-aware devices and the server's OS will recognize the connection by this.

HTTP works with request-response: client connects to server, performs a request and gets a response. Without keep-alive, the connection to an HTTP server is closed after each response. With HTTP keep-alive you keep the underlying TCP connection open until certain criteria are met.

This allows for multiple request-response pairs over a single TCP connection, eliminating some of TCP's relatively slow connection startup.

When The IIS (F) sends keep alive header (or user sends keep-alive) , does it mean that (E,C,B) save a connection

No. Routers don't need to remember sessions. In fact, multiple TCP packets belonging to same TCP session need not all go through same routers - that is for TCP to manage. Routers just choose the best IP path and forward packets. Keep-alive is only for client, server and any other intermediate session-aware devices.

That is the intention of TCP connections: it is an end-to-end connection intended for only those two parties.

Truncating long strings with CSS: feasible yet?

Justin Maxwell has cross browser CSS solution. It does come with the downside however of not allowing the text to be selected in Firefox. Check out his guest post on Matt Snider's blog for the full details on how this works.

For those who are still stuck...

Using NetBeans 8.1 and GlassFish 4.1 with CDI, for some reason I had this issue only locally, not on the remote server. What did the trick:

-> using javaee-web-api 7.0 instead of the default pom version provided by NetBeans, which is javaee-web-api 6.0, so:

I can't really recommend this ~~solution~~ work-around but it does function. Rather than exporting an object, you use named exports each member. In another file, import the first module's named exports into an object and export that object as default. Also export all the named exports from the first module using export * from './file1';

If you want to filter the models by applicationname and the remaining models by surname:

Loop through an array in JavaScript

I did not yet see this variation, which I personally like the best:

Given an array:

You can loop over it without ever accessing the length property:

This only works for arrays that are not sparse. Meaning that there actually is a value at each index in the array. However, I found that in practice I hardly ever use sparse arrays in JavaScript... In such cases it's usually a lot easier to use an object as a map/hashtable. If you do have a sparse array, and want to loop over 0 .. length-1, you need the for (var i=0; i<someArray.length; ++i) construct, but you still need an if inside the loop to check whether the element at the current index is actually defined.

Also, as CMS mentions in a comment below, you can only use this on arrays that don't contain any falsish values. The array of strings from the example works, but if you have empty strings, or numbers that are 0 or NaN, etc. the loop will break off prematurely. Again in practice this is hardly ever a problem for me, but it is something to keep in mind, which makes this a loop to think about before you use it... That may disqualify it for some people :)

What I like about this loop is:

It's short to write
No need to access (let alone cache) the length property
The item to access is automatically defined within the loop body under the name you pick.
Combines very naturally with array.push and array.splice to use arrays like lists/stacks

The reason this works is that the array specification mandates that when you read an item from an index >= the array's length, it will return undefined. When you write to such a location it will actually update the length.

For me, this construct most closely emulates the Java 5 syntax that I love:

for (String item : someArray) {
}

... with the added benefit of also knowing about the current index inside the loop

You can control this default behavior when creating your table.

I just had the same problem and tested the methods mentioned above. After several trials, I realized that they are partially correct and are not the complete solution. I tested the below in Windows 10 and Anaconda 4.4.0 with python 3.6.

There are two ways to do even though they have only very small difference. Follow the way marneylc suggested above: i.e.

1) Open "Anaconda Prompt" and type jupyter notebook --generate-config

2) You find the file in C:\Users\username\.jupyter\jupyter_notebook_config.py

3) Change the line of #c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = '' to c.NotebookApp.notebook_dir = 'c:\test\your_root\'

4) Then, go to the shortcut of Jupyter Notebook located in C:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Anaconda3 (64-bit)

5) Do the right click and go to the Properties

6) In the Target field, remove %USERPROFILE% as stenlytw suggested above.

7) Then, In the field of Start in, type the same directory of c:\test\your_root\ in jupyter_notebook_config.py

8) Done!

As the simpler way, after step 3, go to C:\Users\User_name\Anaconda3\Scripts

4-2) You can see the file of jupyter-notebook.exe and click it.

5-2) Then, the Jupyter start the folder you specified in jupyter_notebook_config.py. So make the shortcut of this file.

When they are represented by space (memory storage) it means that your concrete class will implement a field and method/methods that will operate on that field or by time which means that the task of implementing the feature is purely computational (requires more cpu clocks for processing) so you have a trade off between space and time for feature implementation.

If your concrete class does not implement all features it again becomes abstract because you have a implementation of your thought or idea or abstractness but it is not complete , you specify it by abstract class.

A concrete class will be a class/set of classes which will fully capture the abstractness you are trying to capture class XYZ.

So the Pattern is

Interface--->Abstract class/Abstract classes(depends)-->Concrete class
