To run the batch file when the VM user logs in:

Drag the shortcut--the one that's currently on your desktop--(or the batch file itself) to Start - All Programs - Startup. Now when you login as that user, it will launch the batch file.

Another way to do the same thing is to save the shortcut or the batch file in %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\.

As far as getting it to run full screen, it depends a bit what you mean. You can have it launch maximized by editing your batch file like this:

I actually had a similar issue, where we had to many trusted root certificates. Our fresh installed webserver had over a hunded. Our root started with the letter Z so it ended up at the end of the list.

The problem was that the IIS sent only the first twenty-something trusted roots to the client and truncated the rest, including ours. It was a few years ago, can't remember the name of the tool... it was part of the IIS admin suite, but Fiddler should do as well. After realizing the error, we removed a lot trusted roots that we don't need. This was done trial and error, so be careful what you delete.

After the cleanup everything worked like a charm.

After two dozens of comments to understand the situation, it was found that the libhdf5.so.7 was actually a symlink (with several levels of indirection) to a file that was not shared between the queued processes and the interactive processes. This means even though the symlink itself lies on a shared filesystem, the contents of the file do not and as a result the process was seeing different versions of the library.

For future reference: other than checking LD_LIBRARY_PATH, it's always a good idea to check a library with nm -D to see if the symbols actually exist. In this case it was found that they do exist in interactive mode but not when run in the queue. A quick md5sum revealed that the files were actually different.

1. Open the created task scheduler

2. switch to the “Action” tab and select your created “Action”

3. In the Edit section, using the browser you could select powershell.exe in your system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0 folder.

As DotNetMensch said but you DO NOT need to add another site in IIS as this can also cause further problems and make things more complicated because you then have a website within a website so the file paths, masterpage paths and web.config paths may need changing. You just need to edit teh bindings of the existing site and add the new subdomain there.

So:

1. Add sub-domain to DNS records. My host (RackSpace) uses a web portal to do this so you just log in and go to Network->Domains(DNS)->Actions->Create Zone, and enter your subdomain as mysubdomain.domain.com etc, leave the other settings as default

2. Go to your domain in IIS, right-click->Edit Bindings->Add, and add your new subdomain leaving everything else the same e.g. mysubdomain.domain.com

You may need to wait 5-10 mins for the DNS records to update but that's all you need.

CMS has it right, but also if you use the server explorer in visual studio and play around with the performance counter tab then you can figure out how to get lots of useful metrics.

The approach you should take is to install pip for Python 3.2.

/var/www/html is just the default root folder of the web server. It gets a little bit more complicated if you want to add the background to a specific modal. One way of solving that is to add and call something like this function instead of showing the modal directly:

Disadvantages (it's not such a big ones):

• The binary numbers have to be grouped 4 by 4;
• The binary literals have to be only unsigned integer numbers;

Advantages:

• Total preprocessor driven, not spending processor time in pointless operations (like "?.. :..", "<<", "+") to the executable program (it may be performed hundred of times in the final application);
• It works "mainly in C" compilers and C++ as well (template+enum solution works only in C++ compilers);
• It has only the limitation of "longness" for expressing "literal constant" values. You cannot make a truly custom asynchronous function. You'll eventually have to leverage on a technology provided natively, such as:

• setInterval
• setTimeout
• requestAnimationFrame
• XMLHttpRequest
• WebSocket
• Worker
• Some HTML5 APIs such as the File API, Web Database API
• Technologies that support onload
• ... many others

Note that path.exists can fail for more reasons than just the file is not there so you might have to do finer tests like testing if the containing directory exists and so on.

After my discussion with the OP it turned out, that the main problem seems to be, that the file name might contain characters that are not allowed by the filesystem. Of course they need to be removed but the OP wants to maintain as much human readablitiy as the filesystem allows.

Sadly I do not know of any good solution for this. However Cecil Curry's answer takes a closer look at detecting the problem.

I think this is because you are using client software and not the server.

Try: sudo service mysqld start

To check that service is running use: ps -ef | grep mysql | grep -v grep.

In my case even after following all of the above. I had to upgrade my project from .net 3.5 to .net 4 to authorize against our internal exchange 2010 mail server.

Django 1.10 no longer allows you to specify views as a string (e.g. 'myapp.views.home') in your URL patterns.

The solution is to update your urls.py to include the view callable. This means that you have to import the view in your urls.py. If your URL patterns don't have names, then now is a good time to add one, because reversing with the dotted python path no longer works.

In fact you cannot do it easily right now (at the time I am writing this message). I will try to explain why.

First of all, the glibc is no more, it has been subsumed by the eglibc project. And, the Debian distribution switched to eglibc some time ago (see here and there and even on the glibc source package page). So, you should consider installing the eglibc package through this kind of command:

apt-get install libc6-amd64 libc6-dev libc6-dbg

Replace amd64 by the kind of architecture you want (look at the package list here).

Unfortunately, the eglibc package version is only up to 2.13 in unstable and testing. Only the experimental is providing a 2.17 version of this library. So, if you really want to have it in 2.15 or more, you need to install the package from the experimental version (which is not recommended). Here are the steps to achieve as root:

1. Add the following line to the file /etc/apt/sources.list:

   deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian experimental main
   

2. Update your package database:

   apt-get update
   

3. Install the eglibc package:

   apt-get -t experimental install libc6-amd64 libc6-dev libc6-dbg

Well, that's all folks.

Its because of wrong path provided. It may be that the url contains space and if the case url has to be properly constructed.

The correct url should be in the format with file name included like "http://server name/document library name/new file name"

So if report.xlsx is the file that has to be uploaded at "http://server name/Team/Dev Team" then path comes out to be is "http://server name/Team/Dev Team/report.xlsx". It contains space so it should be reconstructed as "http://server name/Team/Dev%20Team/report.xlsx" and should be used.

Mohammed Radwan, Your solution is elegant. To detect iframe clicks in Firefox and IE, you can use a simple method with document.activeElement and a timer, however... I have searched all over the interwebs for a method to detect clicks on an iframe in Chrome and Safari. At the brink of giving up, I find your answer. Thank you, sir!

Some tips: I have found your solution to be more reliable when calling the init() function directly, rather than through attachOnloadEvent(). Of course to do that, you must call init() only after the iframe html. So it would look something like:

I think you can use the nrows parameter. From the docs:

Another way to understand those concept is as follow: Depth: Draw a horizontal line at the root position and treat this line as ground. So the depth of the root is 0, and all its children are grow downward so each level of nodes has the current depth + 1.

Height: Same horizontal line but this time the ground position is external nodes, which is the leaf of tree and count upward.

To check for permission you can use

ls -l

If u don't know about it, first see here, then check the url

So, if 'x' permission is not there, it will show like 'rw-'

And there will be 3 category of user Owner(who created the file/directory), Group(some people who shares same permission and user previlege), Others(general public)

So 1st letter is 'd'(if it is a directory) or '-'(if it is not a directory), followed by rwx for owner, followed by for group, followed by other

If you want to separate table space from index space, you need to use AND i.index_id IN (0,1) for the table space (index_id = 0 is the heap space, index_id = 1 is the size of the clustered index = data pages) and AND i.index_id > 1 for the index-only space

The issue here is that JSON, as a format, is generally parsed in full and then handled in-memory, which for such a large amount of data is clearly problematic.

The solution to this is to work with the data as a stream - reading part of the file, working with it, and then repeating.

Okay, I think I know what you're looking for. It appears that GGT is a pretty good solution, as Reed Copsey suggested.

Personally, we rolled our own little library, because we deal with rational points a lot - lots of rational NURBS and Beziers.

It turns out that most 3D graphics libraries do computations with projective points that have no basis in projective math, because that's what gets you the answer you want. We ended up using Grassmann points, which have a solid theoretical underpinning and decreased the number of point types. Grassmann points are basically the same computations people are using now, with the benefit of a robust theory. Most importantly, it makes things clearer in our minds, so we have fewer bugs. Ron Goldman wrote a paper on Grassmann points in computer graphics called "On the Algebraic and Geometric Foundations of Computer Graphics".

A quick hack that may suit your needs..

Take off the frame of the box and manually position the two legends next to each other. Something like this..

You have no control over the user moving the orientation however you can at least message them. This example will hide the wrapper if in portrait mode and show the warning message and then hide the warning message in landscape mode and show the portrait.

I've been working with Cordova a lot recently and it turns out you CAN control it when you have access to the native features.

Another Update

So after releasing Cordova it is really terrible in the end. It is better to use something like React Native if you want JavaScript. It is really amazing and I know it isn't pure web but the pure web experience on mobile kind of failed.

As of Notepad++ 5.9 they added a feature to 'Remove Unmarked Lines' which can be used to strip away everything that you don't want along with some search and replaces for the other text on each value line.

1. Use the Search-->Find-->Mark functionality to mark each line you want to keep/copy and remember to tick 'Bookmark Line' before marking the text
2. Select Search-->Bookmark-->Remove Unmarked Lines
3. Use Search-->Find-->Replace to replace other text you do not want to keep/copy with nothing
4. Save the remaining text or copy it.

You can also do a similar thing using Search-->Bookmark-->Copy Bookmarked Lines

So technically you still cannot copy marked text, but you can bookmark lines with marked text and then perform various operations on bookmarked or unmarked lines.

The reason reset and revert tend to come up a lot in the same conversations is because different version control systems use them to mean different things.

In particular, people who are used to SVN or P4 who want to throw away uncommitted changes to a file will often reach for revert before being told that they actually want reset.

There are few more considerations in prop() vs attr():

• selectedIndex, tagName, nodeName, nodeType, ownerDocument, defaultChecked, and defaultSelected..etc should be retrieved and set with the .prop() method. These do not have corresponding attributes and are only properties.

I encountered similar problem recently. The fix is to set the display property of the li items in the ordered list to list-item, and not display block, and ensure that the display property of ol is not list-item. i.e

li { display: list-item;}

With this, the html parser sees all li as the list item and assign the appropriate value to it, and sees the ol, as an inline-block or block element based on your settings, and doesn't try to assign any count value to it.

Is the $_SESSION['name'] variable an array? If you want to delete a specific key from within an array, you have to refer to that exact key in the unset() call, otherwise you delete the entire array, e.g.

Another minor problem with your snippet: You're mixing GET query parameters in with a POST form. Is there any reason why you can't do the forms with 'name' being passed in a hidden field? Not a direct answer, but I just realized the word Input Dimension could be confusing enough, so be wary:

As everyone else says, LoadLibrary is the hard way to do it, and is hardly ever necessary.

The DLL should have come with a .lib file for linking, and one or more header files to #include into your sources. The header files will define the classes and function prototypes that you can use from the DLL. You will need this even if you use LoadLibrary.

You have your storyboard set up to expect an outlet called tableView but the actual outlet name is myTableView.

If you delete the connection in the storyboard and reconnect to the right variable name, it should fix the problem.

Store it anywhere in an accessible location except of the IDE's project folder aka the server's deploy folder, for reasons mentioned in the answer to Uploaded image only available after refreshing the page:

1. Changes in the IDE's project folder does not immediately get reflected in the server's work folder. There's kind of a background job in the IDE which takes care that the server's work folder get synced with last updates (this is in IDE terms called "publishing"). This is the main cause of the problem you're seeing.

2. In real world code there are circumstances where storing uploaded files in the webapp's deploy folder will not work at all. Some servers do (either by default or by configuration) not expand the deployed WAR file into the local disk file system, but instead fully in the memory. You can't create new files in the memory without basically editing the deployed WAR file and redeploying it.

3. Even when the server expands the deployed WAR file into the local disk file system, all newly created files will get lost on a redeploy or even a simple restart, simply because those new files are not part of the original WAR file.

It really doesn't matter to me or anyone else where exactly on the local disk file system it will be saved, as long as you do not ever use getRealPath() method. Using that method is in any case alarming.

The path to the storage location can in turn be definied in many ways. You have to do it all by yourself. Perhaps this is where your confusion is caused because you somehow expected that the server does that all automagically. Please note that @MultipartConfig(location) does not specify the final upload destination, but the temporary storage location for the case file size exceeds memory storage threshold.

I tried to uninstall/install and it did not work. I am running OSX 10.10.3 with Android Studio 1.2.1.1 on JDK 1.8.0_45-b14 and the solution I found to work is similar to Jorge Casariego's recommendation. Basically, out of the box you get a build error for a missing 'aidl' module so simply changing the Build Tools Version to not be version 23.0.0 rc1 will solve your problem. It appears to have a bug.

UPDATE After commenting on an Android issue on their tracker (https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=175080) a project member from the Android Tools group commented that to use the Build Tools Version 23.0.0 rc1 you need to be using Android Gradle Plugin 1.3.0-beta1 (Android Studio comes configured with 1.2.3). He also noted (read the issue comments) that the IDE should have given an notification that you need to do this to make it work. For me I have not seen a notification and I've requested clarification from that project member. Nonetheless his guidance solved the issue perfectly so read on.

Solution: Open your build.gradle for your Project (not Module). Find the line classpath com.android.tools.build:gradle:xxx under dependencies where xxx is the Gradle Plugin version and make the update. Save and Rebuild your project. Use the str.isspace() method:

Return True if there are only whitespace characters in the string and there is at least one character, False otherwise.

A character is whitespace if in the Unicode character database (see unicodedata), either its general category is Zs (“Separator, space”), or its bidirectional class is one of WS, B, or S.

Combine that with a special case for handling the empty string.

Alternatively, you could use str.strip() and check if the result is empty.

If inline-block elements in HTML are not separated with space, this solution won't work - see example http://jsfiddle.net/NfeVh/1408/ . This might be a case when you insert content with Javascript.

In order to solve the issue of the extra space that is inserted with the after pseudo-element one can do a trick of setting the font-size to 0 for the parent element and resetting it back to say 14px for the child elements. SEL is a type that represents a selector in Objective-C. The @selector() keyword returns a SEL that you describe. It's not a function pointer and you can't pass it any objects or references of any kind. For each variable in the selector (method), you have to represent that in the call to @selector. For example:

I found another strange reason and i thought maybe another developer confused as me. I did run install.bat that created to install my service in developer Command Prompt of VS2010 but my service generated in VS2012. it was going to this error and drives me to crazy but i try VS2012 Developer Command Prompt tools and everything gone to be OK. I don't no why but my problem was solved. so you can test it and if anyone know reason of that please share with us. Thanks.

I have tried many of the above issues and still had installation problems.

It turns out that downloading the full version (not the web installer), and running it as administrator finally got the latest version installed with no errors in VS 2015.

In vi on Red Hat, I was able to insert carriage returns using just the \r character. I believe this internally executes 'ex' instead of 'sed', but it's similar, and vi can be another way to do bulk edits such as code patches. For example. I am surrounding a search term with an if statement that insists on carriage returns after the braces:

Note that I also had it insert some tabs to make things align better.

Use the css property overflow . For example:

Moo) (updated for C++11) Coming at 1k pages, this is a very thorough introduction into C++ that covers just about everything in the language in a very accessible format and in great detail. The fifth edition (released August 16, 2012) covers C++11. [Review]

• Programming: Principles and Practice Using C++ (Bjarne Stroustrup, 2nd Edition - May 25, 2014) (updated for C++11/C++14) An introduction to programming using C++ by the creator of the language. A good read, that assumes no previous programming experience, but is not only for beginners.

Introductory, with previous programming experience

• A Tour of C++ (Bjarne Stroustrup) (2nd edition for C++17) The “tour” is a quick (about 180 pages and 14 chapters) tutorial overview of all of standard C++ (language and standard library, and using C++11) at a moderately high level for people who already know C++ or at least are experienced programmers. This book is an extended version of the material that constitutes Chapters 2-5 of The C++ Programming Language, 4th edition.

• Accelerated C++ (Andrew Koenig and Barbara Moo, 1st Edition - August 24, 2000) This basically covers the same ground as the C++ Primer, but does so on a fourth of its space. This is largely because it does not attempt to be an introduction to programming, but an introduction to C++ for people who've previously programmed in some other language. It has a steeper learning curve, but, for those who can cope with this, it is a very compact introduction to the language. (Historically, it broke new ground by being the first beginner's book to use a modern approach to teaching the language.) Despite this, the C++ it teaches is purely C++98. [Review]

Best practices

• Effective C++ (Scott Meyers, 3rd Edition - May 22, 2005) This was written with the aim of being the best second book C++ programmers should read, and it succeeded. Earlier editions were aimed at programmers coming from C, the third edition changes this and targets programmers coming from languages like Java. It presents ~50 easy-to-remember rules of thumb along with their rationale in a very accessible (and enjoyable) style. For C++11 and C++14 the examples and a few issues are outdated and Effective Modern C++ should be preferred. [Review]

• Effective Modern C++ (Scott Meyers) This is basically the new version of Effective C++, aimed at C++ programmers making the transition from C++03 to C++11 and C++14.

• Effective STL (Scott Meyers) This aims to do the same to the part of the standard library coming from the STL what Effective C++ did to the language as a whole: It presents rules of thumb along with their rationale. [Review]

• More Effective C++ (Scott Meyers) Even more rules of thumb than Effective C++. Not as important as the ones in the first book, but still good to know.

• Exceptional C++ (Herb Sutter) Presented as a set of puzzles, this has one of the best and thorough discussions of the proper resource management and exception safety in C++ through Resource Acquisition is Initialization (RAII) in addition to in-depth coverage of a variety of other topics including the pimpl idiom, name lookup, good class design, and the C++ memory model. • More Exceptional C++ (Herb Sutter) Covers additional exception safety topics not covered in Exceptional C++, in addition to discussion of effective object-oriented programming in C++ and correct use of the STL. [Review]

• Exceptional C++ Style (Herb Sutter) Discusses generic programming, optimization, and resource management; this book also has an excellent exposition of how to write modular code in C++ by using non-member functions and the single responsibility principle. [Review]

• C++ Templates: The Complete Guide (David Vandevoorde and Nicolai M. Josuttis) This is the book about templates as they existed before C++11. Has excellent summaries of the One Definition Rule (ODR) and overload resolution in the appendices. A second edition covering C++11, C++14 and C++17 has been already published. [Review]

• C++ 17 - The Complete Guide (Nicolai M. Josuttis) This book describes all the new features introduced in the C++17 Standard covering everything from the simple ones like 'Inline Variables', 'constexpr if' all the way up to 'Polymorphic Memory Resources' and 'New and Delete with overaligned Data'. • C++ in Action (Bartosz Milewski). This book explains C++ and its features by building an application from ground up. [Review]

• Functional Programming in C++ (Ivan Cukic). This book introduces functional programming techniques to modern C++ (C++11 and later). A very nice read for those who want to apply functional programming paradigms to C++.

• Professional C++ (Marc Gregoire, 5th Edition - Feb 2021) Provides a comprehensive and detailed tour of the C++ language implementation replete with professional tips and concise but informative in-text examples, emphasizing C++20 features. Uses C++20 features, such as modules and std::format throughout all examples.

Advanced

• Modern C++ Design (Andrei Alexandrescu) A groundbreaking book on advanced generic programming techniques. Introduces policy-based design, type lists, and fundamental generic programming idioms then explains how many useful design patterns (including small object allocators, functors, factories, visitors, and multi-methods) can be implemented efficiently, modularly, and cleanly using generic programming. [Review]

• C++ Template Metaprogramming (David Abrahams and Aleksey Gurtovoy)

• C++ Concurrency In Action (Anthony Williams) A book covering C++11 concurrency support including the thread library, the atomics library, the C++ memory model, locks and mutexes, as well as issues of designing and debugging multithreaded applications. A second edition covering C++14 and C++17 has been already published. [Review]

• Advanced C++ Metaprogramming (Davide Di Gennaro) A pre-C++11 manual of TMP techniques, focused more on practice than theory. There are a ton of snippets in this book, some of which are made obsolete by type traits, but the techniques, are nonetheless useful to know. If you can put up with the quirky formatting/editing, it is easier to read than Alexandrescu, and arguably, more rewarding. For more experienced developers, there is a good chance that you may pick up something about a dark corner of C++ (a quirk) that usually only comes about through extensive experience.

Reference Style - All Levels

• The C++ Programming Language (Bjarne Stroustrup) (updated for C++11) The classic introduction to C++ by its creator. Written to parallel the classic K&R, this indeed reads very much like it and covers just about everything from the core language to the standard library, to programming paradigms to the language's philosophy. • C++ Standard Library Tutorial and Reference (Nicolai Josuttis) (updated for C++11) The introduction and reference for the C++ Standard Library. The second edition (released on April 9, 2012) covers C++11. [Review]

• The C++ IO Streams and Locales (Angelika Langer and Klaus Kreft) There's very little to say about this book except that, if you want to know anything about streams and locales, then this is the one place to find definitive answers. [Review]

C++11/14/17/… References:

• The C++11/14/17 Standard (INCITS/ISO/IEC 14882:2011/2014/2017) This, of course, is the final arbiter of all that is or isn't C++. Be aware, however, that it is intended purely as a reference for experienced users willing to devote considerable time and effort to its understanding. The C++17 standard is released in electronic form for 198 Swiss Francs.

• The C++17 standard is available, but seemingly not in an economical form – directly from the ISO it costs 198 Swiss Francs (about $200 US). For most people, the final draft before standardization is more than adequate (and free). Many will prefer an even newer draft, documenting new features that are likely to be included in C++20.

• Overview of the New C++ (C++11/14) (PDF only) (Scott Meyers) (updated for C++14) These are the presentation materials (slides and some lecture notes) of a three-day training course offered by Scott Meyers, who's a highly respected author on C++. Even though the list of items is short, the quality is high.

• The C++ Core Guidelines (C++11/14/17/…) (edited by Bjarne Stroustrup and Herb Sutter) is an evolving online document consisting of a set of guidelines for using modern C++ well. The guidelines are focused on relatively higher-level issues, such as interfaces, resource management, memory management and concurrency affecting application architecture and library design. The project was announced at CppCon'15 by Bjarne Stroustrup and others and welcomes contributions from the community. Most guidelines are supplemented with a rationale and examples as well as discussions of possible tool support. Many rules are designed specifically to be automatically checkable by static analysis tools.

• The C++ Super-FAQ (Marshall Cline, Bjarne Stroustrup and others) is an effort by the Standard C++ Foundation to unify the C++ FAQs previously maintained individually by Marshall Cline and Bjarne Stroustrup and also incorporating new contributions. The items mostly address issues at an intermediate level and are often written with a humorous tone. Not all items might be fully up to date with the latest edition of the C++ standard yet.

• cppreference.com (C++03/11/14/17/…) (initiated by Nate Kohl) is a wiki that summarizes the basic core-language features and has extensive documentation of the C++ standard library. The documentation is very precise but is easier to read than the official standard document and provides better navigation due to its wiki nature. The project documents all versions of the C++ standard and the site allows filtering the display for a specific version. The project was presented by Nate Kohl at CppCon'14.

Classics / Older

• The Design and Evolution of C++ (Bjarne Stroustrup) If you want to know why the language is the way it is, this book is where you find answers. This covers everything before the standardization of C++.

• Ruminations on C++ - (Andrew Koenig and Barbara Moo) [Review]

• Advanced C++ Programming Styles and Idioms (James Coplien) A predecessor of the pattern movement, it describes many C++-specific “idioms”. It's certainly a very good book and might still be worth a read if you can spare the time, but quite old and not up-to-date with current C++.

• Large Scale C++ Software Design (John Lakos) Lakos explains techniques to manage very big C++ software projects. Certainly, a good read, if it only was up to date. It was written long before C++ 98 and misses on many features (e.g. namespaces) important for large-scale projects. If you need to work in a big C++ software project, you might want to read it, although you need to take more than a grain of salt with it. The first volume of a new edition is released in 2019.

• Inside the C++ Object Model (Stanley Lippman) If you want to know how virtual member functions are commonly implemented and how base objects are commonly laid out in memory in a multi-inheritance scenario, and how all this affects performance, this is where you will find thorough discussions of such topics.

• The Annotated C++ Reference Manual (Bjarne Stroustrup, Margaret A. Ellis) This book is quite outdated in the fact that it explores the 1989 C++ 2.0 version - Templates, exceptions, namespaces and new casts were not yet introduced. Saying that however, this book goes through the entire C++ standard of the time explaining the rationale, the possible implementations, and features of the language. This is not a book to learn programming principles and patterns on C++, but to understand every aspect of the C++ language.

• Thinking in C++ (Bruce Eckel, 2nd Edition, 2000). Two volumes; is a tutorial style free set of intro level books. Downloads: vol 1, vol 2. Unfortunately they're marred by a number of trivial errors (e.g. maintaining that temporaries are automatically const), with no official errata list. A partial 3^rd party errata list is available at http://www.computersciencelab.com/Eckel.htm, but it is apparently not maintained.

• Scientific and Engineering C++: An Introduction to Advanced Techniques and Examples (John Barton and Lee Nackman) It is a comprehensive and very detailed book that tried to explain and make use of all the features available in C++, in the context of numerical methods. It introduced at the time several new techniques, such as the Curiously Recurring Template Pattern (CRTP, also called Barton-Nackman trick). It pioneered several techniques such as dimensional analysis and automatic differentiation. It came with a lot of compilable and useful code, ranging from an expression parser to a Lapack wrapper. The code is still available online. Unfortunately, the books have become somewhat outdated in the style and C++ features, however, it was an incredible tour-de-force at the time (1994, pre-STL). The chapters on dynamics inheritance are a bit complicated to understand and not very useful. An updated version of this classic book that includes move semantics and the lessons learned from the STL would be very nice.

Just for those people that have been idiots like me, or have had something odd happen to their vagrant machine. This error can also occur when you changed the permissions of the vagrant user's home directory (deliberately or by accident).

You can log in instead (as described in other posts) using the password ('vagrant') and then run the following command to fix the permissions.

sudo chown -R vagrant:vagrant /home/vagrant

Then you should be able to log in again without entering the password.

TL;DR: The permissions on your vagrant home folder are wrong.

Workaround:
