Apache Commons Lang 3 contais the class EnumUtils. If you aren't using Apache Commons in your projects, you're doing it wrong. You are reinventing the wheel!

There's a dozen of cool methods that we could use without throws an Exception. For example:

Gets the enum for the class, returning null if not found.

This method differs from Enum.valueOf in that it does not throw an exceptionfor an invalid enum name and performs case insensitive matching of the name.

EnumUtils.getEnumIgnoreCase(SeasonEnum.class, season);

On my 64 bit system I noticed that the following directory existed:

/usr/include/c++/4.4/x86_64-linux-gnu/32/bits

It would then make sense that on my 32 bit system that had been setup for 64bit cross compiling there should be a corresponding directory like:

/usr/include/c++/4.4/i686-linux-gnu/64/bits

I double checked and this directory did not exist. Running g++ with the verbose parameter showed that the compiler was actually looking for something in this location:

The error regarding the ignoring nonexistent directory was the clue. Unfortunately, I still don't know what package I need to install to have this directory show up so I just copied the /usr/include/c++/4.4/x86_64-linux-gnu/bits directory from my 64 bit machine to /usr/include/c++/4.4/i686-linux-gnu/64/bits on my 32 machine.

Now compiling with just the -m64 works correctly. The major drawback is that this is still not the correct way to do things and I am guessing the next time Update Manager installs and update to g++ things may break.

why don't you store your values in HTML5 storage objects such as sessionStorage or localStorage, visit HTML5 Storage Doc to get more details. Using this you can store intermediate values temporarily/permanently locally and then access your values later.

To store values for a session:

So you can store (temporarily) form data between multiple pages using HTML5 storage objects which you can even retain after reload..

Swift provides three ways to compare String values: string equality, prefix equality, and suffix equality.

String Equality

Two String values are considered equal if they contain exactly the same characters in the same order:

If you are worried that your package.json might be incorrect, best thing to do is this. Create a new folder, and run:

npm init --yes

Then:

Check your npm configuration:

npm gets its config settings from the command line, environment variables, and npmrc files. So check environment variables, and the npmrc file.

Ok, create a new folder, ideally somewhere else on your filesystem. ie. not in same folder hierarchy. For instance, C:\myNewFolder - the closer to the base C: drive the better.

Then run:

npm init --yes

Now run:

npm install underscore --save

and finally:

npm install mocha --save-dev

What I am trying to do is understand whether your problem is global, or something local to the previous folder and dependencies.

-a and -o are the older and/or operators for the test command. && and || are and/or operators for the shell. So (assuming an old shell) in your first case,

The shell is evaluating the and condition. In your second case,

[ "$1" = 'yes' -a $2 -lt 3 ]

The test command (or builtin test) is evaluating the and condition.

Of course in all modern or semi-modern shells, the test command is built in to the shell, so there really isn't any or much difference. In modern shells, the if statement can be written:

[[ $1 == yes && -r $2.txt ]]

Which is more similar to modern programming languages and thus is more readable.

I've been in this (Twitter) industry for a long time and witnessed lots of changes in Twitter API and documentation. I would like to clarify one thing to you. There is no way to surpass 3200 tweets limit. Twitter doesn't provide this data even in its new premium API.

The only way someone can surpass this limit is by saving the tweets of an individual Twitter user.

There are tools available which claim to have a wide database and provide more than 3200 tweets. Few of them are followersanalysis.com, keyhole.co which I know of.

This error fires if you set the AVD RAM to anything that is larger then the single largest block of continuous memory the emulator is able to allocate. Close anything RAM heavy, start your emulator, start everything else you need. In a previous answer I have limited this to x86 images with IntelHAXM, but this actually is the case for all types of emulator instances.

Jonathan from the ExcelCentral forums suggests:

This formula extracts the week of the year [...] and then subtracts it from the week of the first day in the month to get the week of the month. You can change the day that weeks begin by changing the second argument of both WEEKNUM functions (set to 2 [for Monday] in the above example). For weeks beginning on Sunday, use:

For weeks beginning on Tuesday, use:

I like it better because it's using the built in week calculation functionality of Excel (WEEKNUM).

For our application, we had a client server architecture and we only allowed decrypting/encrypting data in the server level. Hence the JCE files are only needed there.

We had another problem where we needed to update a security jar on the client machines, through JNLP, it overwrites the libraries in${java.home}/lib/security/ and the JVM on first run.

That made it work.

Pardon my language, but there are hell lot of Rube-Goldberg solutions scattered all over the web and specially on SO, but none of them are elegant or solve the problem of actually posting a one dimensional array to php via ajax post. Don't forget to spread this solution.

If dns_get_record() fails, it should return FALSE, so you can suppress the warning with @ and then check the return value.

Numpy has the prod() function that returns the product of a list, or in this case since it's numpy, it's the product of an array over a given axis:

I was getting a consistent 15 second delay on the first request after 4 minutes of inactivity. My problem was that my app was using Windows Integrated Authentication to SQL Server and the service profile was in a different domain than the server. This caused a cross-domain authentication from IIS to SQL upon app initialization - and this was the real source of my delay. I changed to using a SQL login instead of windows authentication. The delay was immediately gone. I still have all the app initialization settings in place to help improve performance but they may have not been needed at all in my case.

Update: Python 3.6 implements PEP 528: Change Windows console encoding to UTF-8: the default console on Windows will now accept all Unicode characters. Internally, it uses the same Unicode API as the win-unicode-console package mentioned below. print(unicode_string) should just work now.

I get a UnicodeEncodeError: 'charmap' codec can't encode character... error.

The error means that Unicode characters that you are trying to print can't be represented using the current (chcp) console character encoding. The codepage is often 8-bit encoding such as cp437 that can represent only ~0x100 characters from ~1M Unicode characters:

Windows console does accept Unicode characters and it can even display them (BMP only) if the corresponding font is configured. WriteConsoleW() API should be used as suggested in @Daira Hopwood's answer. It can be called transparently i.e., you don't need to and should not modify your scripts if you use win-unicode-console package:

If it is enough to replace all unencodable characters with ? in your case then you could set PYTHONIOENCODING envvar:

In Python 3.6+, the encoding specified by PYTHONIOENCODING envvar is ignored for interactive console buffers unless PYTHONLEGACYWINDOWSIOENCODING envvar is set to a non-empty string.

Eclipse Collections has Pair and all combinations of primitive/object Pairs (for all eight primitives).

The Tuples factory can create instances of Pair, and the PrimitiveTuples factory can be used to create all combinations of primitive/object pairs.

We added these before Java 8 was released. They were useful to implement key/value Iterators for our primitive maps, which we also support in all primitive/object combinations.

If you're willing to add the extra library overhead, you can use Stuart's accepted solution and collect the results into a primitive IntList to avoid boxing. We added new methods in Eclipse Collections 9.0 to allow for Int/Long/Double collections to be created from Int/Long/Double Streams.

The event is called beforeunload, so you can assign a function to window.onbeforeunload.

Your /home/gnu/bin/c++ seem to require additional flag to link things properly and CMake doesn't know about that.

To use /usr/bin/c++ as your compiler run cmake with -DCMAKE_CXX_COMPILER=/usr/bin/c++.

Also, CMAKE_PREFIX_PATH variable sets destination dir where your project' files should be installed. It has nothing to do with CMake installation prefix and CMake itself already know this.

This is what I got from oracle documentation, but it is for oracle 10g release 2:

When you define a NUMBER variable, you can specify its precision (p) and scale (s) so that it is sufficiently, but not unnecessarily, large. Precision is the number of significant digits. • When data is fetched from an analytic workspace to a relational column that has the NUMBER data type, performance is best when the data already has the NUMBER data type in the analytic workspace because a conversion step is not required.

If you want a "const string" like your question says, I would really go for the version you stated in your question:

Reason: The problem with second version is that compiler will make a copy of the entire string "Howdy", PLUS that string is modifiable (so not really const).

On the other hand, first version is a const string accessible by const pointer HELLO2, and there is no way anybody can modify it.

Also running this command before the script also solves the issue:

set-executionpolicy unrestricted

If you are utilizing underscore, you can use this nice short one-liner:

First of all, since Spring doesn't do persistence itself, it cannot specify what readOnly should exactly mean. This attribute is only a hint to the provider, the behavior depends on, in this case, Hibernate.

If you specify readOnly as true, the flush mode will be set as FlushMode.NEVER in the current Hibernate Session preventing the session from committing the transaction.

Furthermore, setReadOnly(true) will be called on the JDBC Connection, which is also a hint to the underlying database. If your database supports it (most likely it does), this has basically the same effect as FlushMode.NEVER, but it's stronger since you cannot even flush manually.

Now let's see how transaction propagation works.

If you don't explicitly set readOnly to true, you will have read/write transactions. Depending on the transaction attributes (like REQUIRES_NEW), sometimes your transaction is suspended at some point, a new one is started and eventually committed, and after that the first transaction is resumed.

OK, we're almost there. Let's see what brings readOnly into this scenario.

If a method in a read/write transaction calls a method that requires a readOnly transaction, the first one should be suspended, because otherwise a flush/commit would happen at the end of the second method.

Conversely, if you call a method from within a readOnly transaction that requires read/write, again, the first one will be suspended, since it cannot be flushed/committed, and the second method needs that.

I had this problem because I installed python/pip with a weird ~/.pydistutils.cfg that I didn't remember writing. Deleted it, reinstalled (with pybrew), and everything was fine.

Reading text from image documents using any OCR engine have many issues in order get good accuracy. There is no fixed solution to all the cases but here are a few things which should be considered to improve OCR results.

1) Presence of noise due to poor image quality / unwanted elements/blobs in the background region. This requires some pre-processing operations like noise removal which can be easily done using gaussian filter or normal median filter methods. These are also available in OpenCV.

2) Wrong orientation of image: Because of wrong orientation OCR engine fails to segment the lines and words in image correctly which gives the worst accuracy.

3) Presence of lines: While doing word or line segmentation OCR engine sometimes also tries to merge the words and lines together and thus processing wrong content and hence giving wrong results. There are other issues also but these are the basic ones.

This post OCR application is an example case where some image pre-preocessing and post processing on OCR result can be applied to get better OCR accuracy.

I did it by using a filter. Most linux systems use rsyslog these days. The config files are located at /etc/rsyslog.conf and /etc/rsyslog.d.

Whenever I run the command logger -t SRI some message, I want "some message" to only show up in /var/log/sri.log.

To do this I added the file /etc/rsyslog.d/00-sri.conf with the following content.

your first try is using declarative pipelines, and the second working one is using scripted pipelines. you need to enclose steps in a steps declaration, and you can't use if as a top-level step in declarative, so you need to wrap it in a script step. here's a working declarative version:

Raphael is definitely easier to set up and get going, but note that there are ways of expressing things in SVG that are not possible in Raphael. As noted above there are no "groups". This implies that you can't implement layers of Coordinate Transfomations. Instead there is only one coordinate transform available.

The only way to be 100% sure the same form never gets submitted twice is to embed a unique identifier in each one you issue and track which ones have been submitted at the server. The pitfall there is that if the user backs up to the page where the form was and enters new data, the same form won't work.

Html.ActionLink generates an <a href=".."></a> tag automatically.

Url.Action generates only an url.

Although it is quite possible that this is doing the loop in the background and is therefore not any more efficient than what you have (other than the lines of code savings). If you really care about efficiency, try the following in comparison to the above:

The more rows per post there are in votes, the bigger the difference in performance. Test with EXPLAIN ANALYZE.

count(DISTINCT post_id) has to read all rows, sort or hash them, and then only consider the first per identical set. EXISTS will only scan votes (or, preferably, an index on post_id) until the first match is found.

If every post_id in votes is guaranteed to be present in the table posts (referential integrity enforced with a foreign key constraint), this short form is equivalent to the longer form:

May actually be faster than the EXISTS query with no or few entries per post.

The previous clues to get SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe runing didn't work as stated for me. After a while of searching, trying, retrying again and again, I finally figured it out. When executing SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe on my Windows seven system, I kept runing into compatibility issues. The trick is to run SQLManagementStudio_x64_ENU.exe in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP2. Edit the installer properties and enable compatibility mode with XP (service pack 2), then you'll be able to access Mr Doug (answered Mar 4 at 15:09) resolution.

I know it's been a while since this question was posted, but I was just getting this exact error, and I have a really simple solution that MIGHT work for some. All I did was double click on the folder 'Servers', which then allowed me to start the server with no error message. Sometimes the solution is right in front of your eyes. Every bean has one or more ids (also called identifiers, or names; these terms refer to the same thing). These ids must be unique within the container the bean is hosted in. A bean will almost always have only one id, but if a bean has more than one id, the extra ones can essentially be considered aliases.

When using XML-based configuration metadata, you use the 'id' or 'name' attributes to specify the bean identifier(s). The 'id' attribute allows you to specify exactly one id, and as it is a real XML element ID attribute, the XML parser is able to do some extra validation when other elements reference the id; as such, it is the preferred way to specify a bean id. This is usually not a constraint, but if you have a need to use one of these special XML characters, or want to introduce other aliases to the bean, you may also or instead specify one or more bean ids, separated by a comma (,), semicolon (;), or whitespace in the 'name' attribute.

So basically the id attribute conforms to the XML id attribute standards whereas name is a little more flexible. Generally speaking, I use name pretty much exclusively. It just seems more "Spring-y".

By using System.exit(0); you would close the entire process. Is that what you wanted or did you intend to close only the GUI window and allow the process to continue running?

The quickest, easiest and most robust way to simply close a JFrame or JPanel with the click of a JButton is to add an actionListener to the JButton which will execute the line of code below when the JButton is clicked:

In the above examples %I and PATH can be replaced by other valid values. The %~ syntax is terminated by a valid FOR variable name. Picking upper case variable names like %I makes it more readable and avoids confusion with the modifiers, which are not case sensitive.

There are different letters you can use like f for "full path name", d for drive letter, p for path, and they can be combined. %~ is the beginning for each of those sequences and a number I denotes it works on the parameter %I (where %0 is the complete name of the batch file, just like you assumed).

To a certain extent, yes, it is possible. You can type Objective-C code and set up your projects. You can even test the C and C++ parts of your code with gcc.

What you cannot do:

• Use Interface Builder to set up your interface, as it's Mac-only. (Not required, but recommended.)
• Compile code that uses Apple's Cocoa classes - they don't exist on Linux.
• Test code in the Simulator - there isn't one for Linux.
• Compile code for real devices or for the App Store - all this requires tools that Apple only provides for OS X.

You know, sometimes it's just easier to work with a BackgroundWorker regardless of if you're using Windows Forms, WPF or whatever technology. The neat part about these guys is you get threading without having to worry too much about where you're thread is executing, which is great for simple tasks.

Before using a BackgroundWorker consider first if you wish to cancel a thread (closing app, user cancellation) then you need to decide if your thread should check for cancellations or if it should be thrust upon the execution itself.

BackgroundWorker.CancelAsync() will set CancellationPending to true but won't do anything more, it's then the threads responsibility to continually check this, keep in mind also that you could end up with a race condition in this approach where your user cancelled, but the thread completed prior to testing for CancellationPending.

Thread.Abort() on the other hand will throw an exception within the thread execution which enforces cancellation of that thread, you must be careful about what might be dangerous if this exception was suddenly raised within the execution though.

The exception states that your result is closed. You should examine your code and look for all location where you issue a ResultSet.close() call. Also look for Statement.close() and Connection.close(). For sure, one of them gets called before rs.next() is called.

I solved my problem of visual svn server rep-cache.db corruption.

Their are two solutions.

Stop the Visual SVN Server service.

Download sqllite3.exe shell from sqllite website and copy that into repo's db folder.

Type the following commands at command prompt in the repo's db folder.

1.) There is NO proper solution when loading fonts via @import, <link href= or Google's webfont.js. The problem is that Chrome simply requests .woff files from Google's API which render horribly. Surprisingly all other font file types render beautifully. However, there are some CSS tricks that will "smoothen" the rendered font a little bit, you'll find the workaround(s) deeper in this answer.

2.) There IS a real solution for this when self-hosting the fonts, first posted by Jaime Fernandez in another answer on this Stackoverflow page, which fixes this issue by loading web fonts in a special order. I would feel bad to simply copy his excellent answer, so please have a look there. There is also an (unproven) solution that recommends using only TTF/OTF fonts as they are now supported by nearly all browsers.

3.) The Google Chrome developer team works on that issue. As there have been several huge changes in the rendering engine there's obviously something in progress.

This is a big bug in Google Chrome and the Google Chrome Team does know about this, see the official bug report here. Currently, in May 2013, even 11 months after the bug was reported, it's not solved. It's a strange thing that the only browser that messes up Google Webfonts is Google's own browser Chrome (!). But there's a simple workaround that will fix the problem, please see below for the solution.

It looks like body-parser did support uploading files in Express 3, but support was dropped for Express 4 when it no longer included Connect as a dependency

After looking through some of the modules in mscdex's answer, I found that express-busboy was a far better alternative and the closest thing to a drop-in replacement. The only differences I noticed were in the properties of the uploaded file.

I also experienced the same thing. I found out that my favicon.ico had not been processed as a legitimate shortcut icon. I understand that favicons must be scaled to 16x16 and follow the Microsoft Icon format.

It is not enough in case of PHP fpm. It was one more configuration file which can enable display_error. You should find www.conf. In my case it is in directory /etc/php/7.1/fpm/pool.d/

Yes there is, In addition to the other answers above, this works for me.

Create a class and populate it with the associated methods e.g

Then create an instance of your class in your view function and pass the resultant object to your template as a parameter for the render_template function

numpy.ndarray can contain any type of element, e.g. int, float, string etc. Check the type an do a conversion if neccessary.

You might be looking for Promise.race (native I/O racing solution, not threads)

Assuming you (or others searching this question) want to race threads to avoid failure and avoid the cost of I/O operations, this is a simple and native way to accomplish it (which does not use threads). Node is designed to be single threaded (look up the event loop), so avoid using threads if possible. If my assumption is correct, I recommend you use Promise.race with setTimeout (example in link). With this strategy, you would race a list of promises which each try some I/O operation and reject the promise if there is an error (otherwise timeout). The Promise.race statement continues after the first resolution/rejection, which seems to be what you want. Hope this helps someone!

Another option is to rely on good old fashion equals method. As long as the argument in the when mock equals the argument in the code being tested, then Mockito will match the mock.

Here is an example.

pros: This is more explicit then any matchers. As a reviewer of code, I keep an eye open for any in the code junior developers write, as it glances over their code's logic to generate the appropriate object being passed.

con: Sometimes the field being passed to the object is a random ID. For this case you cannot easily construct the expected argument object in your mock code.

Another possible approach is to use Mockito's Answer object that can be used with the when method. Answer lets you intercept the actual call and inspect the input argument and return a mock object. In the example below I am using any to catch any request to the method being mocked. But then in the Answer lambda, I can further inspect the Bazo argument... maybe to verify that a proper ID was passed to it. I prefer this over any by itself so that at least some inspection is done on the argument.

Perhaps you want to remove the quotes inside the xsl:if tags so it doesn't put your values into quotes, depending on where you want to use the CSV file.

i've had weird things happen without it. As for making it automatic. You need to use the worksheet_change event within the sheet's macro in the VBA editor (not modules, double click the sheet1 to the far left of the editor.) Within that sheet, use the drop down menu just above the editor itself (there should be 2 listboxes). The listbox to the left will have the events you are looking for. After that just throw in the macro. It should look like the below code,

I just want to post my solution. Previous answers was pretty helpful for my research. I use length-stream to get the size of the stream, but the problem here is that the callback is fired near the end of the stream, so i also use stream-cache to cache the stream and pipe it to res object once i know the content-length. Reaching Outside Java

Generating a UUID value within Java is limited to Version 4 (random) because of security concerns.

If you want other versions of UUIDs, one avenue is to have your Java app reach outside the JVM to generate UUIDs by calling on:

• Command-line utility
  Bundled with nearly every operating system.
  For example, uuidgen found in Mac OS X, BSD, and Linux.
• Database server
  Use JDBC to retrieve a UUID generated on the database server.
  For example, the uuid-ossp extension often bundled with Postgres. That extension can generates Versions 1, 3, and 4 values and additionally a couple variations:
  • uuid_generate_v1mc() – generates a version 1 UUID but uses a random multicast MAC address instead of the real MAC address of the computer.
  • uuid_generate_v5(namespace uuid, name text) – generates a version 5 UUID, which works like a version 3 UUID except that SHA-1 is used as a hashing method.
• Web Service
  For example, UUID Generator creates Versions 1 & 3 as well as nil values and GUID.

The PostgreSQL manual indicates that this means the transaction is open (inside BEGIN) and idle. It's most likely a user connected using the monitor who is thinking or typing. I have plenty of those on my system, too.

If you're using Slony for replication, however, the Slony-I FAQ suggests idle in transaction may mean that the network connection was terminated abruptly. Check out the discussion in that FAQ for more details.

Prefer EntityManagerFactory and EntityManager. They are defined by the JPA standard.

SessionFactory and Session are hibernate-specific. The EntityManager invokes the hibernate session under the hood. And if you need some specific features that are not available in the EntityManager, you can obtain the session by calling:

I was facing the same problem in Visual Studio 2005. My configuration is 64 bits. It was working fine on one of the VS solution but not the other. I noticed i only enabled "Enable edit and continue" for the project where i wanted to make changes in debug mode. This finally solved for me when I selected "Enable and Continue" for my start up project as well.

There was no configuration changes except the enable and continue needed.

Also, the Common function config_item() works pretty much everywhere throughout the CodeIgniter instance. Controllers, models, views, libraries, helpers, hooks, whatever.

Since this is a common piece of functionality it's a good idea to write a directive for this. In fact, someone already did that and open sourced it. I used editablespan library in one of my projects and it worked perfectly, highly recommended.

I am not experiented .But i think XmlReader is unnecessary. It is very hard to use.
XElement is very easy to use.
If you need performance ( faster ) you must change file format and use StreamReader and StreamWriter classes.

It shouldn't matter, any more than if you encoded the letter A as %41.

However, if you're dealing with a system that doesn't recognize one form, it seems like you're just going to have to give it what it expects regardless of what the "spec" says.

Unfortunately, there is no formula way to result in a truly blank cell, "" is the best formulas can offer.

I dislike ISBLANK because it will not see cells that only have "" as blanks. Instead I prefer COUNTBLANK, which will count "" as blank, so basically =COUNTBLANK(C1)>0 means that C1 is blank or has "".

If you need to remove blank cells in a column, I would recommend filtering on the column for blanks, then selecting the resulting cells and pressing Del. After which you can remove the filter.

You can initialize a Dictionary (and other collections) inline. Each member is contained with braces:

Consider CircularFifoBuffer from Apache Common.Collections. Unlike Queue you don't have to maintain the limited size of underlying collection and wrap it once you hit the limit.

CircularFifoBuffer will do this for you because of the following properties:

• CircularFifoBuffer is a first in first out buffer with a fixed size that replaces its oldest element if full.
• The removal order of a CircularFifoBuffer is based on the insertion order; elements are removed in the same order in which they were added. The iteration order is the same as the removal order.
• The add(Object), BoundedFifoBuffer.remove() and BoundedFifoBuffer.get() operations all perform in constant time. All other operations perform in linear time or worse.

However you should consider it's limitations as well - for example, you can't add missing timeseries to this collection because it doens't allow nulls.

NOTE: When using current Common Collections (4.*), you have to use Queue. Like this:

Queue buf = new CircularFifoQueue(4);

You can just call the Execute command.

Edit:

Since you want to return data..that's a little harder. You can use user defined functions instead that return data.

1. Create a hidden button with id="hiddenBtn" and type="submit" that do the submit
2. Change current button to type="button"

3. set onclick of the current button call a function look like below:

Best settings for Sublime Text 3 as your Git editor (Windows & Linux instructions):

To follow these instructions in Windows make sure you have installed Git for Windows. In Windows, I like to use Git Bash so that it feels more like Linux.

First, we want to create a special Sublime Text project so that we can specify special project settings we want set whenever Git calls the editor, to make things easier when editing in Git. For example, I normally set my ruler to 120 chars in most projects, but for Git commit messages I want it to be 72 characters so that it fits nicely in a terminal when you call git log or git lg.

1. Create a Sublime Text project with settings we want to use to edit Git commit messages

Open Sublime Text and go to menu "File" ? "New Window" to create a new anonymous project. Go to menu "Project" ? "Save Project As..." and choose a place to save it. In Linux I saved it in my Linux home directory with the file name .gitconfig.sublime-project. Its path is therefore: ~/.gitconfig.sublime-project. In Windows also save it in your home directory, for example: C:\Users\MY_USER_NAME\.gitconfig.sublime-project Now go to menu "Project" ? "Edit Project" to edit the project settings. Paste the following and save the settings. Make any further edits for your project settings if desired.

2. Set the editor to be used by Git

Now we need to set the editor to be used by Git, by editing the .gitconfig file.

For Linux:

Your user copy of this will be located in ~/.gitconfig. Open this file and add the following lines. Be sure to use the proper path name to the Git project you just created above! I'm using ~/.gitconfig.sublime-project.

The --wait is important, as it forces Git to wait until you close the file before it continues on. The --project line is important to tell Sublime Text which project you want opened whenever Git opens Sublime Text.

Per @digitaldreamer's answer above (https://stackoverflow.com/a/2596835/4561887), "subl can be replaced by the full path of the executable but [the alias subl] is usually available when [Sublime is] correctly installed."

For Windows:

For Windows, first read the Linux instructions for background information. Now we will do something almost identical.

(OPTIONAL: create a subl alias for use in Git Bash):

Open up a text editor (for example, Notepad, Notepad++, Sublime Text, Geany, etc.), and create a file called ".bash_profile" in your home directory. Its path will therefore be: C:\Users\MY_USER_NAME\.bash_profile. Save the following into it:

alias subl="/c/Program\ Files/Sublime\ Text\ 3/subl.exe"

This creates a Git Bash alias called subl that we can now use in Git Bash for Windows, to easily open Sublime Text. This step isn't required, but it's useful for general Git Bash use. Now you can call subl ., for instance, in Git Bash to open up a new Sublime Text project in your current directory.

(MANDATORY):

Edit the .gitconfig file found in your home directory: C:\Users\MY_USER_NAME\.gitconfig, by adding the following to it. Notice the subtle changes from the Linux instructions above:

• Notice that you must specify the full path to the Sublime Text executable. Note the direction of the slashes! Use / NOT \ to separate folders in the path name! (Thanks VonC for helping me see this).
• Our subl alias we made for Git Bash above doesn't work here, so you can't use it like we did in the Linux example, instead you must specify the whole path as shown above.
• The ~ symbol, however, does still work here to get to your Windows home directory.

2.5. (Optional) Install the "Git" package into Sublime Text 3.

This gives you syntax highlighting for git commit messages, as well as access to other Git commands such as git blame (which I use frequently in Sublime Text) or git commit (which I don't use in Sublime Text since I'd prefer the command-line for general Git flow, as I've mentioned in my comments below this answer).

To install a package: First, ensure “Package Control” is installed. Next, press Ctrl + Shift + P (same as Tools ? Command Palette) and type all or part of “Package Control: Install Package”, then press Enter. In the search box that comes up, search for the package "Git" and hit Enter on it, or click on it, to automatically install it.

Once installed, Ctrl + Shift + P then searching for "git" will bring up Git commands you can use internally inside Sublime Text now, such as git blame.

3. Use it

Now when you call git commit, for instance, as normal from the command-line, Sublime Text will open up into the .gitconfig.sublime-project we created above, with that project's settings! As you type a paragraph you'll notice it extends past the ruler we set since soft word-wrap is off. To force hard wrap via auto-inserted hard-returns at the end of each line, put your cursor on the long line you want auto-wrapped and press Alt + Q. It will now hard-wrap/hard-fold at 72 characters, which is what we set in the project settings' "rulers" parameter above.

Now, save your commit message with Ctrl + S, and exit (to complete your git commit) with Ctrl + Shift + W.

Use the fall-through feature of the switch statement. A matched case will run until a break (or the end of the switch statement) is found, so you could write it like:

You could use .gitignore to keep the config.xml out of the repository, and then use a post commit hook to upload the appropriate config.xml file to the server.

I had a similar problem with crypto updates. A kludgy hack that gets around this is to include a '+ now() - now()' stunt at the end of the cell formula, with the setting as above to recalculate every minute. This worked for my price updates, but, definitely an ugly hack.

First let's understand what big O, big Theta and big Omega are. They are all sets of functions.

Big O is giving upper asymptotic bound, while big Omega is giving a lower bound. Big Theta gives both.

Everything that is ?(f(n)) is also O(f(n)), but not the other way around.
T(n) is said to be in ?(f(n)) if it is both in O(f(n)) and in Omega(f(n)).
In sets terminology, ?(f(n)) is the intersection of O(f(n)) and Omega(f(n))

For example, merge sort worst case is both O(n*log(n)) and Omega(n*log(n)) - and thus is also ?(n*log(n)), but it is also O(n^2), since n^2 is asymptotically "bigger" than it. However, it is not ?(n^2), Since the algorithm is not Omega(n^2).

A bit deeper mathematic explanation

O(n) is asymptotic upper bound. If T(n) is O(f(n)), it means that from a certain n0, there is a constant C such that T(n) <= C * f(n). On the other hand, big-Omega says there is a constant C2 such that T(n) >= C2 * f(n))).

Do not confuse!

Not to be confused with worst, best and average cases analysis: all three (Omega, O, Theta) notation are not related to the best, worst and average cases analysis of algorithms. Each one of these can be applied to each analysis.

We usually use it to analyze complexity of algorithms (like the merge sort example above). When we say "Algorithm A is O(f(n))", what we really mean is "The algorithms complexity under the worst¹ case analysis is O(f(n))" - meaning - it scales "similar" (or formally, not worse than) the function f(n).

Why we care for the asymptotic bound of an algorithm?

Well, there are many reasons for it, but I believe the most important of them are:

1. It is much harder to determine the exact complexity function, thus we "compromise" on the big-O/big-Theta notations, which are informative enough theoretically.
2. The exact number of ops is also platform dependent. For example, if we have a vector (list) of 16 numbers. How much ops will it take? The answer is: it depends. Some CPUs allow vector additions, while other don't, so the answer varies between different implementations and different machines, which is an undesired property. The big-O notation however is much more constant between machines and implementations.

To demonstrate this issue, have a look at the following graphs:

It is clear that f(n) = 2*n is "worse" than f(n) = n. But the difference is not quite as drastic as it is from the other function. We can see that f(n)=logn quickly getting much lower than the other functions, and f(n) = n^2 is quickly getting much higher than the others.
So - because of the reasons above, we "ignore" the constant factors (2* in the graphs example), and take only the big-O notation.

In the above example, f(n)=n, f(n)=2*n will both be in O(n) and in Omega(n) - and thus will also be in Theta(n).
On the other hand - f(n)=logn will be in O(n) (it is "better" than f(n)=n), but will NOT be in Omega(n) - and thus will also NOT be in Theta(n).
Symetrically, f(n)=n^2 will be in Omega(n), but NOT in O(n), and thus - is also NOT Theta(n).

¹Usually, though not always. when the analysis class (worst, average and best) is missing, we really mean the worst case.
