Transaction - is just a logically composed set of operations you want all together be either committed or rolled back.

Personally I prefer static functions over nameless namespaces for the following reasons:

• It's obvious and clear from function definition alone that it's private to the translation unit where it's compiled. With nameless namespace you might need to scroll and search to see if a function is in a namespace.

• Functions in namespaces might be treated as extern by some (older) compilers. In VS2017 they are still extern. For this reason even if a function is in nameless namespace you might still want to mark them static.

• Static functions behave very similar in C or C++, while nameless namespaces are obviously C++ only. nameless namespaces also add extra level in indentation and I don't like that :)

So, I'm happy to see that use of static for functions isn't deprecated anymore.

Simply do this

That returns an array of elements, so use [0] to get the first occurence, e.g.

I did all suggestions above, but they didn't work! I rebuilt the project, uninstalled the app from my real device, unplugged USB, then I run Android Studio and run the app on my real device and the issue was gone.

I too had the same problem.

I was running node v 6.2 alongside using purgecss within my gulpfile. Problem only occurred when I created a new Laravel project; up until that point, I never had an issue with purgecss.

Following @Quentin's statement - how node versions prior to 7.6 do not support async functions - I decided to update my node version to 9.11.2

One major difference that is important to know is that ActiveX controls show up as objects that you can use in your code- try inserting an ActiveX control into a worksheet, bring up the VBA editor (ALT + F11) and you will be able to access the control programatically. You can't do this with form controls (macros must instead be explicitly assigned to each control), but form controls are a little easier to use. If you are just doing something simple, it doesn't matter which you use but for more advanced scripts ActiveX has better possibilities.

ActiveX is also more customizable.

It is time inefficient to compare each number, needlessly leading to a linear complexity. Having said that, this approach avoids any inequality checks:

Although in most general cases the error is quite clearly that file handles have not been closed, I just encountered an instance with JDK7 on Linux that well... is sufficiently ****ed up to explain here.

The program opened a FileOutputStream (fos), a BufferedOutputStream (bos) and a DataOutputStream (dos). After writing to the dataoutputstream, the dos was closed and I thought everything went fine.

Internally however, the dos, tried to flush the bos, which returned a Disk Full error. That exception was eaten by the DataOutputStream, and as a consequence the underlying bos was not closed, hence the fos was still open.

At a later stage that file was then renamed from (something with a .tmp) to its real name. Thereby, the java file descriptor trackers lost track of the original .tmp, yet it was still open !

To solve this, I had to first flush the DataOutputStream myself, retrieve the IOException and close the FileOutputStream myself.

I arrived here because I thought I should check in SO if there are adequate answers, after a syntax error that gave me this error, or if I could possibly post an answer myself.

OK, the answers here explain what this error is, so not much more to say, but nevertheless I will give my 2 cents using my words:

This error is caused by the fact that you basically generate a new table with your subquery for the FROM command.

That's what a derived table is, and as such, it needs to have an alias (actually a name reference to it).

So given the following hypothetical query:

    SELECT t1.ID id, t2.key1 key1, t2.key2 key2, t2.key3 key3
    FROM table1 t1 
    LEFT JOIN table2 t2 ON t1.id = t2.id

So, at the end, the whole subquery inside the FROM command will produce the table that is aliased as tt and it will have the following columns id, key1, key2, key3.

So, then with the initial SELECT from that table we finally select the id and key1 from the tt.

Even though multiple requests can be sent over the same HTTP connection, the server does not attach any special meaning to their arriving over the same socket. That is solely a performance thing, intended to minimize the time/bandwidth that'd otherwise be spent reestablishing a connection for each request.

As far as HTTP is concerned, they are all still separate requests and must contain enough information on their own to fulfill the request. That is the essence of "statelessness". Requests will not be associated with each other absent some shared info the server knows about, which in most cases is a session ID in a cookie.

I'm going to say right off the bat that you will not be able to achieve the look they have with radio buttons with strictly CSS.

You could, however, stick to the list style in the example you posted and replace the anchors with clickable spans that would trigger a javascript event that would in turn save that rating to your database via ajax.

If you went that route you would probably also want to save a cookie to the users machine so that they could not submit over and over again to your database. That would prevent them from submitting more than once at least until they deleted their cookies.

But of course there are many ways to address this problem. This is just one of them. Hope that helps.

Never use or suggest == instead of ===. its a recipe for disaster. e.g 0 == "" is true but "" == '0' is false and many more.

The two conditional statements you list here are not better than one another. Your usage depends on the situation. You have a typo by the way in the 2nd example. There should be only one equals sign after the exclamation mark.

The 1st example determines if the value in myVar is true and executes the code inside of the {...}

The 2nd example evaluates if myVar does not equal null and if that case is true it will execute your code inside of the {...}

I suggest taking a look into conditional statements for more techniques. Once you are familiar with them, you can decide when you need them.

In HTML/CSS (browser code) the format is #RRGGBBAA with the alpha channel as last two hexadecimal digits.

In my case I was emitting a class, whose name was stored in a string, className, which had a single public static method named Get(), that returned with type StoryDataIds. Here's what calling that method looks like:

Warning: Compilation can be surprisingly, extremely slow. A small, relatively simple 10-line chunk of code compiles at normal priority in 2-10 seconds on our relatively fast server. You should never tie calls to CompileAssemblyFromSource() to anything with normal performance expectations, like a web request. Instead, proactively compile code you need on a low-priority thread and have a way of dealing with code that requires that code to be ready, until it's had a chance to finish compiling. For example you could use it in a batch job process.

The cross-platform way (not only cross-platform itself, but also working, at the very least, with both *.so and *.dll) is using reverse-engineering framework radare2. E.g.:

Another option might be to merge with strategy ours to the commit before the range and then a 'normal' merge with the last commit of that range (or branch when it is the last one). So suppose only 2345 and 3456 commits of master to be merged into feature branch:

I thought I would share my findings in case someone is considering a JQuery plugin to do the job.

I gave JQuery Custom Scrollbar a go. It's pretty fancy and does some smooth scrolling (with scrolling inertia) and has loads of parameters you can tweak, but it ended up being a bit too CPU intensive for me (and it adds a fair amount to the DOM).

Now I'm giving Perfect Scrollbar a go. It's simple and lightweight (6KB) and it's doing a decent job so far. It's not CPU intensive at all (as far as I can tell) and adds very little to your DOM. It's only got a couple of parameters to tweak (wheelSpeed and wheelPropagation), but it's all I need and it handles updates to the scrolling content nicely (such as loading images).

P.S. I did have a quick look at JScrollPane, but @simone is right, it's a bit dated now and a PITA.

The make uses the $ for its own variable expansions. E.g. single character variable $A or variable with a long name - ${VAR} and $(VAR).

To put the $ into a command, use the $$, for example:

In SQL, double quotes are used to mark identifiers, not string constants.

Use the keyword and, not & because & is a bit operator.

Be careful with this... just so you know, in Java and C++, the & operator is ALSO a bit operator. The correct way to do a boolean comparison in those languages is &&. Similarly | is a bit operator, and || is a boolean operator. In Python and and or are used for boolean comparisons.

Here's a different way of looking at it, and it's a simple one-liner:

You need to change div into p. Technically innerHTML means it is inside the <??? id=""></???> part.

Change:

You should use double instead of float for precise calculations, and float instead of double when using less accurate calculations. Float contains only decimal numbers, but double contains an IEEE754 double-precision floating point number, making it easier to contain and computate numbers more accurately. Hope this helps.

But as the answer states, tags do behave like a pointer to a commit, so as you would with a commit hash, you can just checkout the tag. The only difference is you preface it with tags/:

git checkout tags/<tagname>

To make it a bit more user-friendly: After you've unpacked it, go into the directory, and run bin/pycharm.sh. Once it opens, it either offers you to create a desktop entry, or if it doesn't, you can ask it to do so by going to the Tools menu and selecting Create Desktop Entry...

Then close PyCharm, and in the future you can just click on the created menu entry. (or copy it onto your Desktop)

To answer the specifics between Run and Run in Terminal: It's essentially the same, but "Run in Terminal" actually opens a terminal window first and shows you console output of the program. Chances are you don't want that :)

(Unless you are trying to debug an application, you usually do not need to see the output of it.)

So something is wrong with your basic design or assumptions.

If you do want to use it, you'll have to convert it to a DateTime (point in time) first. You can format a DateTime without the date part, that would be your desired string.

Not an answer to your question (which others have answered), but if you want to have some edit functionality of an uploaded file field, what you probably want to do is:

• show the current value of this field by just printing the filename or URL, a clickable link to download it, or if it's an image: just show it, possibly as thumbnail
• the <input> tag to upload a new file
• a checkbox that, when checked, deletes the currently uploaded file. note that there's no way to upload an 'empty' file, so you need something like this to clear out the field's value

I found this wonderful mapping script (mapper.js) that I have used in the past. What's different about it is you can hover over the map or a link on your page to make the map area highlight. Sadly it's written in javascript and requires a lot of in-line coding in the HTML - I would love to see this script ported over to jQuery :P

This is the best way to do it:

Note that drop duplicated is used to minimize the comparisons. It would work without them as well. The best way is to compare the row contents themselves and not the index or one/two columns and same code can be used for other filters like 'both' and 'right_only' as well to achieve similar results. For this syntax dataframes can have any number of columns and even different indices. Only the columns should occur in both the dataframes.

Why this is the best way?

1. index.difference only works for unique index based comparisons
2. pandas.concat() coupled with drop_duplicated() is not ideal because it will also get rid of the rows which may be only in the dataframe you want to keep and are duplicated for valid reasons.

Try this:

On first row set value 1 (e.g cell A1)

on next row set: =A1+1

Finally autocomplete the remaining rows

Another alternative (purely something I find easy to remember):

git config --list | grep alias

logger logs to syslog facilities. If you want the message to go to a particular file you have to modify the syslog configuration accordingly. You could add a line like this:

local7.*   -/var/log/mycustomlog

and restart syslog. Then you can log like this:

and the messages will appear in the desired logfile with the correct log level.

Without making changes to the syslog configuration you could use logger like this:

That would instruct logger to print the message to STDERR as well (in addition to logging it to syslog), so you could redirect STDERR to a file. However, it would be utterly pointless, because the message is already logged via syslog anyway (with the default priority user.notice).

replace() method doesn't uses regex pattern whereas replaceAll() method uses regex pattern. So replace() performs faster than replaceAll().

.subscribe is not an Angular2 thing.

It's a method that comes from rxjs library which Angular is using internally.

If you can imagine yourself subscribing to a newsletter, every time there is a new newsletter, they will send it to your home (the method inside subscribe gets called).

That's what happens when you subscribing to a source of magazines ( which is called an Observable in rxjs library)

All the AJAX calls in Angular are using rxjs internally and in order to use any of them, you've got to use the method name, e.g get, and then call subscribe on it, because get returns and Observable.

Also, when writing this code <button (click)="doSomething()">, Angular is using Observables internally and subscribes you to that source of event, which in this case is a click event.

Back to our analogy of Observables and newsletter stores, after you've subscribed, as soon as and as long as there is a new magazine, they'll send it to you unless you go and unsubscribe from them for which you have to remember the subscription number or id, which in rxjs case it would be like :

Here's my script that runs as LocalSystem on a machine, but needs credentials of a domaim user to access a network file location. It allows you to store the user's password in a "safe-ish" encrypted file; that can only be read by the user that wrote it.

Setting and changing the password is done by copying a file with the plaintext password in it to the machine. When the script is next run it reads the password, encrypts it, then deletes the plaintext password.

The LINQ to SQL return object were implementing IQueryable interface. So for Select method predicate parameter you should only supply single lambda expression without body.

This is because LINQ for SQL code is not execute inside program rather than on remote side like SQL server or others. This lazy loading execution type were achieve by implementing IQueryable where its expect delegate is being wrapped in Expression type class like below.

Since api 21, we have PdfRenderer which helps converting a pdf to Bitmap. I've never used it but is seems easy enough.

Solution for any api level

Other solution is to download the PDF and pass it via Intent to a dedicated PDF app which will do a banger job displaying it. Fast and nice user experience, especially if this feature is not central in your app.

Bad Choice of Format

By the way, that is a bad choice of format for a text representation of a date or date-time value. Whenever possible, stick with the standard ISO 8601 formats. ISO 8601 formats are unambiguous, understandable across human cultures, and are easy to parse by machine.

For a date-only value, the standard format is YYYY-MM-DD. Note how this format has the benefit of being chronological when sorted alphabetically.

LocalDate

The LocalDate class represents a date-only value without time-of-day and without time zone.

A time zone is crucial in determining a date. For any given moment, the date varies around the globe by zone. For example, a few minutes after midnight in Paris France is a new day while still “yesterday” in Montréal Québec.

If you truly want a date without any time portion and no time zone, then use the LocalDate class in Joda-Time. That class provides methods of comparison including compareTo (used with Java Comparators), isBefore, isAfter, and isEqual.

Working With Spans Of Time

If you are working with spans of time, I suggest exploring in Joda-Time the classes: Duration, Interval, and Period. Methods such as overlap and contains make comparisons easy.

For text representations, look at the ISO 8601 standard’s:

Joda-Time classes can work with strings in both those formats, both as input (parsing) and output (generating strings).

Joda-Time performs comparisons using the Half-Open approach where the beginning of the span is inclusive while the ending is exclusive. This approach is a wise one for handling spans of time. Search StackOverflow for more info.

Check that the version number of your servlet-api.jar is at least 3.0. There is a version number inside the jar in the META-INF/manifest.mf file:

The short answer to this question is that none of these values are a reliable indicator of how much memory an executable is actually using, and none of them are really appropriate for debugging a memory leak.

Private Bytes refer to the amount of memory that the process executable has asked for - not necessarily the amount it is actually using. They are "private" because they (usually) exclude memory-mapped files (i.e. shared DLLs). But - here's the catch - they don't necessarily exclude memory allocated by those files. There is no way to tell whether a change in private bytes was due to the executable itself, or due to a linked library. Private bytes are also not exclusively physical memory; they can be paged to disk or in the standby page list (i.e. no longer in use, but not paged yet either).

Working Set refers to the total physical memory (RAM) used by the process. However, unlike private bytes, this also includes memory-mapped files and various other resources, so it's an even less accurate measurement than the private bytes. This is the same value that gets reported in Task Manager's "Mem Usage" and has been the source of endless amounts of confusion in recent years. Memory in the Working Set is "physical" in the sense that it can be addressed without a page fault; however, the standby page list is also still physically in memory but not reported in the Working Set, and this is why you might see the "Mem Usage" suddenly drop when you minimize an application.

Virtual Bytes are the total virtual address space occupied by the entire process. This is like the working set, in the sense that it includes memory-mapped files (shared DLLs), but it also includes data in the standby list and data that has already been paged out and is sitting in a pagefile on disk somewhere. The total virtual bytes used by every process on a system under heavy load will add up to significantly more memory than the machine actually has.

So the relationships are:

• Private Bytes are what your app has actually allocated, but include pagefile usage;
• Working Set is the non-paged Private Bytes plus memory-mapped files;
• Virtual Bytes are the Working Set plus paged Private Bytes and standby list.

There's another problem here; just as shared libraries can allocate memory inside your application module, leading to potential false positives reported in your app's Private Bytes, your application may also end up allocating memory inside the shared modules, leading to false negatives. That means it's actually possible for your application to have a memory leak that never manifests itself in the Private Bytes at all. Unlikely, but possible.

Private Bytes are a reasonable approximation of the amount of memory your executable is using and can be used to help narrow down a list of potential candidates for a memory leak; if you see the number growing and growing constantly and endlessly, you would want to check that process for a leak. This cannot, however, prove that there is or is not a leak.

One of the most effective tools for detecting/correcting memory leaks in Windows is actually Visual Studio (link goes to page on using VS for memory leaks, not the product page). Rational Purify is another possibility. Microsoft also has a more general best practices document on this subject. There are more tools listed in this previous question.

I hope this clears a few things up! Tracking down memory leaks is one of the most difficult things to do in debugging. Good luck.

A couple of general tips (besides the DOS line ending issue):

cat is for concatenating files, it's not the only tool that can read files! If a command doesn't read files then use redirection like command < file.

You can set the field separator with the -F option so instead of:

Executive summary: Don't do that.

j_random_hacker's answer tells you how to do this. However, I would also like to point out that you should not do this. The whole point of templates is that they can accept any compatible type, and Java style type constraints break that.

Java's type constraints are a bug not a feature. They are there because Java does type erasure on generics, so Java can't figure out how to call methods based on the value of type parameters alone.

C++ on the other hand has no such restriction. Template parameter types can be any type compatible with the operations they are used with. There doesn't have to be a common base class. This is similar to Python's "Duck Typing," but done at compile time.

A simple example showing the power of templates:

This sum function can sum a vector of any type that support the correct operations. It works with both primitives like int/long/float/double, and user defined numeric types that overload the += operator. Heck, you can even use this function to join strings, since they support +=.

No boxing/unboxing of primitives is necessary.

Note that it also constructs new instances of T using T(). This is trivial in C++ using implicit interfaces, but not really possible in Java with type constraints.

While C++ templates don't have explicit type constraints, they are still type safe, and will not compile with code that does not support the correct operations.

Interestingly, I just learned that most people's unit-tests are not actually testing all paths. When people follow jamisbuck's suggestion, they end up with two ways to get at nested resources. Their unit-tests will generally get/post to the simplest:

In order to test the route that they may prefer, they need to do it this way:

Are you ssh'ing to a directory that's inside your work tree? If the root of your ssh mount point doesn't include the .git dir, then zsh won't be able to find git info. Make sure you're mounting something that includes the root of the repo.

As for GIT_DISCOVERY_ACROSS_FILESYSTEM, it doesn't do what you want. Git by default will stop at a filesystem boundary. If you turn that on (and it's just an env var), then git will cross the filesystem boundary and keep looking. However, that's almost never useful, because you'd be implying that you have a .git directory on your local machine that's somehow meant to manage a work tree that's comprised partially of an sshfs mount. That doesn't make much sense.

CSS properties should be set by cssText property or setAttribute method.

If you're on Windows, they are installed with the platform SDK (or Visual Studio). However the header files are only compatible with OpenGL 1.1. You need to create function pointers for new functionality it later versions. Can you please clarify what version of OpenGL you're trying to use.

What you really want is the jQuery URL Parser plugin. With this plugin, getting the value of a specific URL parameter (for the current URL) looks like this:

If you want an object with parameter names as keys and parameter values as values, you'd just call param() without an argument, like this:

This library also works with other urls, not just the current one:

Instead of writing your own URI parser for this specific purpose that kinda works in most cases, use an actual URI parser. Depending on the answer, code from other answers can return 'null' instead of null, doesn't work with empty parameters (?foo=&bar=x), can't parse and return all parameters at once, repeats the work if you repeatedly query the URL for parameters etc.

Use an actual URI parser, don't invent your own.

For those averse to jQuery, there's a version of the plugin that's pure JS.

For completeness, though this probably would not work well given your particular setup (external program + Windows), one can also acquire Scipy hassle-free as part of the (large) SageMath download.

Other approach is to use mysqldump –where option. By using this option you can split your table on any condition which is supported by where sql clause.

why not simply just give the input field where you want to jump to a id and do a simple focus

Well I've got exactly the same problem with size recalculation and after hours of headache I have to disagree with .append() behaving strictly synchronous. Well at least in Google Chrome. See following code.

The padding-left property is correctly retrieved in Firefox but it is empty in Chrome. Like all other CSS properties I suppose. Inline styling does not support pseudos or at-rules (e.g., @media). Recommendations range from reimplement CSS features in JavaScript for CSS states like :hover via onMouseEnter and onMouseLeave to using more elements to reproduce pseudo-elements like :after and :before to just use an external stylesheet.

Personally dislike all of those solutions. Reimplementing CSS features via JavaScript does not scale well -- neither does adding superfluous markup.

Imagine a large team wherein each developer is recreating CSS features like :hover. Each developer will do it differently, as teams grow in size, if it can be done, it will be done. Fact is with JavaScript there are about n ways to reimplement CSS features, and over time you can bet on every one of those ways being implemented with the end result being spaghetti code.

So what to do? Use CSS. Granted you asked about inline styling going to assume you're likely in the CSS-in-JS camp (me too!). Have found colocating HTML and CSS to be as valuable as colocating JS and HTML, lots of folks just don't realise it yet (JS-HTML colocation had lots of resistance too at first).

Made a solution in this space called Style It that simply lets your write plaintext CSS in your React components. No need to waste cycles reinventing CSS in JS. Right tool for the right job, here is an example using :after:

I had faced the same issue, because the jar library was copied by other Linux user(root), and the logged in user(process) did not have sufficient privilege to read the jar file content.

You would use the command Mechanical snail listed. Notice the uppercase O. Full command line to use could be:

This is making two different tuples, and you overwrite what you did the first time... Anyway, matplotlib does not understand what a "vector" is in the sense you are using. You have to be explicit, and plot "arrows":

I have faced the same issue with you, then solved it, Here are solutions, I wish it maybe can help
First

In the IIS modules Configuration, loop up the WebDAVModule, if your web server has it, then remove it

Second

In the IIS handler mappings configuration, you can see the list of enabling handler, to choose the PHP item, edit it, on the edit page, click request restrictions button, then select the verbs tab in the modal, in the specify the verbs to be handle label, check the all verbs radio, then click ok, you also maybe see a warning, it shows us that use double quotation marks to PHP-CGI execution, then do it

if done it, then restart IIS server, it will be ok

I also ran into the same compiler error. Just a slight shorter variation of Sly_cardinal's approach.

As is clear from all the previous answers, you cannot do the typecast. However, using AutoMapper, in a few lines of code you can have a new SkyfilterClient instantiated based on an existing NetworkClient.

In essence, you would put the following where you are currently doing your typecasting:

you can just do $scope.todo = Todo.get({ id: 123 }). .get() and .query() on a Resource return an object immediately and fill it with the result of the promise later (to update your template). It's not a typical promise which is why you need to either use a callback or the $promise property if you have some special code you want executed after the call. But there is no need to assign it to your scope in a callback if you are only using it in the template.

1. it exports just the hardcoded sheet named "Sheet1";
2. it always exports to the same temp file, overwriting it;
3. it ignores the locale separation char.

To solve these problems, and meet all my requirements, I've adapted the code from here. I've cleaned it a little to make it more readable.

There are still some small thing with the code above that you should notice:

1. .Close and DisplayAlerts=True should be in a finally clause, but I don't know how to do it in VBA
2. It works just if the current filename has 4 letters, like .xlsm. Wouldn't work in .xls excel old files. For file extensions of 3 chars, you must change the - 5 to - 4 when setting MyFileName.
3. As a collateral effect, your clipboard will be substituted with current sheet contents.

Edit: put Local:=True to save with my locale CSV delimiter.
