A Promise represents a proxy for a value not necessarily known when the promise is created. It allows you to associate handlers to an asynchronous action's eventual success value or failure reason. This lets asynchronous methods return values like synchronous methods: instead of the final value, the asynchronous method returns a promise of having a value at some point in the future.

The deferred.promise() method allows an asynchronous function to prevent other code from interfering with the progress or status of its internal request. The Promise exposes only the Deferred methods needed to attach additional handlers or determine the state (then, done, fail, always, pipe, progress, state and promise), but not ones that change the state (resolve, reject, notify, resolveWith, rejectWith, and notifyWith).

If target is provided, deferred.promise() will attach the methods onto it and then return this object rather than create a new one. This can be useful to attach the Promise behavior to an object that already exists.

If you are creating a Deferred, keep a reference to the Deferred so that it can be resolved or rejected at some point. Return only the Promise object via deferred.promise() so other code can register callbacks or inspect the current state.

Simply we can say that a Promise represents a value that is not yet known where as a Deferred represents work that is not yet finished.

You started with a one-dimensional list of numbers. Once you used numpy.newaxis, you turned it into a two-dimensional matrix, consisting of four rows of one column each.

You could then use that matrix for matrix multiplication, or involve it in the construction of a larger 4 x n matrix.

How to get rid of a header(first row) and an index(first column).

To write to CSV file:

Solutions until now only deal with lists, and most are copying the list. In my experience a lot of times that isn't possible.

Also, they don't deal with the fact that you can have repeated elements in the list.

The title of your question says "Previous and next values inside a loop", but if you run most answers here inside a loop, you'll end up iterating over the entire list again on each element to find it.

So I've just created a function that. using the itertools module, splits and slices the iterable, and generates tuples with the previous and next elements together. Not exactly what your code does, but it is worth taking a look, because it can probably solve your problem.

It'll work with any size list (because it doesn't copy the list), and with any iterable (files, sets, etc). This way you can just iterate over the sequence, and have the previous and next items available inside the loop. No need to search again for the item in the sequence.

A short explanation of the code:

• tee is used to efficiently create 3 independent iterators over the input sequence
• chain links two sequences into one; it's used here to append a single-element sequence [None] to prevs
• islice is used to make a sequence of all elements except the first, then chain is used to append a None to its end
• There are now 3 independent sequences based on some_iterable that look like:
  • prevs: None, A, B, C, D, E
  • items: A, B, C, D, E
  • nexts: B, C, D, E, None
• finally izip is used to change 3 sequences into one sequence of triplets.

Note that izip stops when any input sequence gets exhausted, so the last element of prevs will be ignored, which is correct - there's no such element that the last element would be its prev. We could try to strip off the last elements from prevs but izip's behaviour makes that redundant

Also note that tee, izip, islice and chain come from the itertools module; they operate on their input sequences on-the-fly (lazily), which makes them efficient and doesn't introduce the need of having the whole sequence in memory at once at any time.

In python 3, it will show an error while importing izip,you can use zip instead of izip. No need to import zip, it is predefined in python 3 - source

To run multiple applications in an HTML document you must manually bootstrap them using angular.bootstrap()

The reason for this is that only one AngularJS application can be automatically bootstrapped per HTML document. The first ng-app found in the document will be used to define the root element to auto-bootstrap as an application.

In other words, while it is technically possible to have several applications per page, only one ng-app directive will be automatically instantiated and initialized by the Angular framework.

You need to ensure four things:

• Your outside LinearLayout has layout_height="match_parent"
• Your inside LinearLayout has layout_weight="1" and layout_height="0dp"
• Your TextView has layout_weight="0"
• You've set the gravity properly on your inner LinearLayout: android:gravity="center|bottom"

Notice that fill_parent does not mean "take up all available space". However, if you use layout_height="0dp" with layout_weight="1", then a view will take up all available space (Can't get proper layout with "fill_parent").

You might have made the same silly mistake that I did, by not removing the // making it a comment.

The line should be like this, but not as a comment.

You're comparing strings. JavaScript compares the ASCII code for each character of the string.

To see why you get false, look at the charCodes:

"1300".charCodeAt(0);
49
"999".charCodeAt(0);
57

The comparison is false because, when comparing the strings, the character codes for 1 is not greater than that of 9.

The fix is to treat the strings as numbers. You can use a number of methods:

parseInt(string, radix)
parseInt("1300", 10);
> 1300 - notice the lack of quotes


+"1300"
> 1300


Number("1300")
> 1300

As Jim Garrison said in the comment, no obvious reason why you'd make a one-element list out of drug.upper() (which implies drug is a string).

But that's not your error, as your function medications_minimum3() doesn't even use the second argument (something you should fix).

TypeError: unhashable type: 'list' usually means that you are trying to use a list as a hash argument (like for accessing a dictionary). I'd look for the error in counter[row[11]]+=1 -- are you sure that row[11] is of the right type? Sounds to me it might be a list.

When you are asked to connect to a 'database server' right when you open up SQL Server Management Studio do this:

1) Make sure you have Server Type: Database

Speed test

I was curious about the overhead of using a switch instead of the simpler if...else..., so I put together a jsFiddle to examine it... http://jsfiddle.net/17x9w1eL/

• Chrome: switch was around 70% slower than if else

• Firefox: switch was around 5% slower than if else

• IE: switch was around 5% slower than if else

• Safari: switch was around 95% slower than if else

Notes:

Assigning to the local variable is optional, especially if your code is going to be automatically optimised later.

For numeric ranges, I like to use this kind of construction...

if (1 <= d && d <= 11) {...}

... because to me it reads closer to the way you would express a range in maths (1 <= d <= 11), and when I'm reading the code, I can read that as "if d is between 1 and 11".

Clearer

A few people don't think this is clearer. I'd say it is not less clear as the structure is close to identical to the switch option. The main reason it is clearer is that every part of it is readable and makes simple intuitive sense.

My concern, with "switch (true)", is that it can appear to be a meaningless line of code. Many coders, reading that will not know what to make of it.

For my own code, I'm more willing to use obscure structures from time to time, but if anyone else will look at it, I try to use clearer constructs. I think it is better to use the constructs for what they are intended.

Optimisation

In a modern environment, code is often going to be minified for production, so you can write clear concise code, with readable variable names and helpful comments. There's no clear reason to use switch in this way.

I also tried putting both constructs through a minifier. The if/else structure compresses well, becoming a single short expression using nested ternary operators. The switch statement when minified remains a switch, complete with "switch", "case" and "break" tokens, and as a result is considerably longer in code.

How switch(true) works

I think "switch(true) is obscure, but it seems some people just want to use it, so here's an explanation of why it works...

A switch/case statement works by matching the part in the switch with each case, and then executing the code on the first match. In most use cases, we have a variable or non-constant expression in the switch, and then match it.

With "switch(true), we will find the first expression in the case statements that is true. If you read "switch (true)" as "find the first expression that is true", the code feels more readable.

Use Environment.NewLine for line breaks.

How does it work?

When the first component (in my app it's app.js aswell in most cases) mounts correctly, the spinner is being hidden with applying hidden attribute to it.

What's more important to add - !spinner.hasAttribute('hidden') condition prevents to add hidden attribute to the spinner with every component mount, so actually it will be added only one time, when whole app loads.

I have similar situation. In my case, it doesn't have a parent with position:relative. Just paste my solution here for those that might need.

Which strategy you use depends on a few things. If you want every single Alpha to have a Beta, use number 1. There isn't a single answer to this question as there are too many variables, but SHA2 is not yet really cracked (see: Lifetimes of cryptographic hash functions) so it is still a good algorithm to use to store passwords in. The use of salt is good because it prevents attack from dictionary attacks or rainbow tables. Importance of a salt is that it should be unique for each password. You can use a format like [128-bit salt][512-bit password hash] when storing the hashed passwords.

The only viable way to attack is to actually calculate hashes for different possibilities of password and eventually find the right one by matching the hashes.

To give an idea about how many hashes can be done in a second, I think Bitcoin is a decent example. Bitcoin uses SHA256 and to cut it short, the more hashes you generate, the more bitcoins you get (which you can trade for real money) and as such people are motivated to use GPUs for this purpose. You can see in the hardware overview that an average graphic card that costs only $150 can calculate more than 200 million hashes/s. The longer and more complex your password is, the longer time it will take. Calculating at 200M/s, to try all possibilities for an 8 character alphanumberic (capital, lower, numbers) will take around 300 hours. The real time will most likely less if the password is something eligible or a common english word.

As such with anything security you need to look at in context. What is the attacker's motivation? What is the kind of application? Having a hash with random salt for each gives pretty good protection against cases where something like thousands of passwords are compromised.

One thing you can do is also add additional brute force protection by slowing down the hashing procedure. As you only hash passwords once, and the attacker has to do it many times, this works in your favor. The typical way to do is to take a value, hash it, take the output, hash it again and so forth for a fixed amount of iterations. You can try something like 1,000 or 10,000 iterations for example. This will make it that many times times slower for the attacker to find each password.

I prefer this syntax as it allows to set configuration parameters for the shell:

Spring is great for gluing instances of classes together. You know that your Hibernate classes are always going to need a datasource, Spring wires them together (and has an implementation of the datasource too).

Your data access objects will always need Hibernate access, Spring wires the Hibernate classes into your DAOs for you.

Additionally, Spring basically gives you solid configurations of a bunch of libraries, and in that, gives you guidance in what libs you should use.

Spring is really a great tool. (I wasn't talking about Spring MVC, just the base framework).

I'm going to assume that the two arrays you've given for PHP and JS are not related, and they're just examples of how arrays look in the two languages. Clearly you're not going to be able to convert those sequences of letters and numbers into those city names.

PHP provides a function to convert PHP arrays into Javascript code: json_encode(). (technically, it's JSON format; JSON stands for JavaScript Object Notation)

Another approach (more words, less code) that may help:

The locations of local maxima and minima are also the locations of the zero crossings of the first derivative. It is generally much easier to find zero crossings than it is to directly find local maxima and minima.

Unfortunately, the first derivative tends to "amplify" noise, so when significant noise is present in the original data, the first derivative is best used only after the original data has had some degree of smoothing applied.

Since smoothing is, in the simplest sense, a low pass filter, the smoothing is often best (well, most easily) done by using a convolution kernel, and "shaping" that kernel can provide a surprising amount of feature-preserving/enhancing capability. The process of finding an optimal kernel can be automated using a variety of means, but the best may be simple brute force (plenty fast for finding small kernels). A good kernel will (as intended) massively distort the original data, but it will NOT affect the location of the peaks/valleys of interest.

Fortunately, quite often a suitable kernel can be created via a simple SWAG ("educated guess"). The width of the smoothing kernel should be a little wider than the widest expected "interesting" peak in the original data, and its shape will resemble that peak (a single-scaled wavelet). For mean-preserving kernels (what any good smoothing filter should be) the sum of the kernel elements should be precisely equal to 1.00, and the kernel should be symmetric about its center (meaning it will have an odd number of elements.

Given an optimal smoothing kernel (or a small number of kernels optimized for different data content), the degree of smoothing becomes a scaling factor for (the "gain" of) the convolution kernel.

Determining the "correct" (optimal) degree of smoothing (convolution kernel gain) can even be automated: Compare the standard deviation of the first derivative data with the standard deviation of the smoothed data. How the ratio of the two standard deviations changes with changes in the degree of smoothing cam be used to predict effective smoothing values. A few manual data runs (that are truly representative) should be all that's needed.

All the prior solutions posted above compute the first derivative, but they don't treat it as a statistical measure, nor do the above solutions attempt to performing feature preserving/enhancing smoothing (to help subtle peaks "leap above" the noise).

Finally, the bad news: Finding "real" peaks becomes a royal pain when the noise also has features that look like real peaks (overlapping bandwidth). The next more-complex solution is generally to use a longer convolution kernel (a "wider kernel aperture") that takes into account the relationship between adjacent "real" peaks (such as minimum or maximum rates for peak occurrence), or to use multiple convolution passes using kernels having different widths (but only if it is faster: it is a fundamental mathematical truth that linear convolutions performed in sequence can always be convolved together into a single convolution). But it is often far easier to first find a sequence of useful kernels (of varying widths) and convolve them together than it is to directly find the final kernel in a single step.

Hopefully this provides enough info to let Google (and perhaps a good stats text) fill in the gaps. I really wish I had the time to provide a worked example, or a link to one. If anyone comes across one online, please post it here!

I once had this kind of problem installing MinGW to work in Windows, even after I added the right System PATH in my Environment Variables.

This method should allow you to do whatever validation you require, as well as generating all three objects on the same page. I have also used javascript and hidden fields to allow the generation of multiple B,C objects on the same page.

I think that I should add some more informations for this.

If you use this.location.replaceState() router of your application is not updated, so if you use router information later it's not equal for this in your browser. For example if you use localizeService to change language, after switch language your application back to last URL where you was before change it with this.location.replaceState().

If you don't want this behaviour you can chose different method for update URL, like:

In this option your browser also doesn't refresh but your URL change is also injected into Router of your application, so when you switch language you don't have problem like in this.location.replaceState().

Of course you can choose method for your needs. The first is more lighter because you don't engage your application more than change URL in browser.

The linefeed character \n is not the line separator in certain operating systems (such as windows, where it's "\r\n") - my suggestion is that you use \r\n instead, then it'll both see the line-break with only \n and \r\n, I've never had any problems using it.

Also, you should look into using a StringBuilder instead of concatenating the String in the while-loop at BookCatalog.toString(), it is a lot more effective. For instance:

Resolved this issue by using http(s) when accessing the endpoint. The route I was accessing was not available over http. So I would say verify the protocols for which the route is available.

I confess to not having read the whole thread. However when I faced a similar issue I found that checking carefully the case of the file name and correcting that in the HTML reference fixed a similar issue. So local preview on Windows worked but when I published to my server (hosted Linux) I had to make sure "mugshot.jpg" was changed to "mugshot.JPG". Part of the problem is the defaults in Windows hiding full file names behind file type indications.

You can delete any QuerySet you'd like. For example, to delete all blog posts with some Post model

and to delete any Post with a future publication date

Post.objects.filter(pub_date__gt=datetime.now()).delete()

You do, however, need to come up with a way to narrow down your QuerySet. If you just want a view to delete a particular object, look into the delete generic view.

You should note, as I soon discovered, that the code above has some serious performance implications. The summary is that if you're calculating a summary statistic on a time series, or calculating an FFT etc, then you should store the values for each variable contiguously in memory. Otherwise, iterating over the series will cause a cache miss for every value retrieved.

Consider the performance of this code:

On many architectures, one instance of Sample will fill a cache line. So on each iteration of the loop, one sample will be pulled from memory into the cache. 4 bytes from the cache line will be used and the rest thrown away, and the next iteration will result in another cache miss, memory access and so on.

Now when the first x value is loaded from memory, the next three will also be loaded into the cache (supposing suitable alignment), meaning you don't need any values loaded for the next three iterations.

The above algorithm can be improved somewhat further through the use of SIMD instructions on eg SSE2 architectures. However, these work much better if the values are all contiguous in memory and you can use a single instruction to load four samples together (more in later SSE versions).

YMMV - design your data structures to suit your algorithm.

I was able to fix my Code 1 by running Visual Studio as Admin. Apparently it didn't have access to execute the shell commands without Admin.

Had the same issue on Windows7 64bit. The reason why it didn't was missing emulator-x86.exe file under sdk/tools. Fixed it by deleting Android SDK Tools using Android SDK Manager and installing it again. The file now exists and emulator works as expected.

A quick tip that helps me remember what they do -

And

Older IE and Firefox browsers attach the scrollbar to the documentElement, or what would be the <html> tag in HTML.

All other browsers attach the scrollbar to document.body, or what would be the <body> tag in HTML.

The correct solution would be to check which one to use, depending on browser

I always use below approach. I've created one table in database as Table1 with only one column i.e. Row_Id Number (Long Integer) and its value is 0

I've been searching for a way to save notebooks as html, since whenever I try to download as html with my new Jupyter installation, I always get a 500 : Internal Server Error The error was: nbconvert failed: validate() got an unexpected keyword argument 'relax_add_props' error. Oddly enough, I've found that downloading as html is as simple as:

1. Left click in the notebook
2. Click 'Save As...' in the dropdown menu
3. Save accordingly

No print preview, no print, no nbconvert. Using Jupyter Version: 1.0.0. Just a suggestion to try (obviously not all setups are the same).

A common issue where the favicon will not show up when expected is cache, if your .htaccess for example reads: ExpiresByType image/x-icon "access plus 1 month"

It is better to save files into a sub-directory of user.home than wherever the app. might reside.

The best way I've found to do this is with MSDeploy.exe. This is part of the WebDeploy project run by Microsoft. You can download the bits here.

With WebDeploy, you run the command line

msdeploy.exe -verb:sync -source:contentPath=c:\webApp -dest:contentPath=c:\DeployedWebApp

This does the same thing as the VS Publish command, copying only the necessary bits to the deployment folder.

You need to start by understanding that the target of a symlink is a pathname. And it can be absolute or relative to the directory which contains the symlink

Assuming you have foo.conf in sites-available

Try

cd sites-enabled
sudo ln -s ../sites-available/foo.conf .
ls -l

Now you will have a symlink in sites-enabled called foo.conf which has a target ../sites-available/foo.conf

Just to be clear, the normal configuration for Apache is that the config files for potential sites live in sites-available and the symlinks for the enabled sites live in sites-enabled, pointing at targets in sites-available. That doesn't quite seem to be the case the way you describe your setup, but that is not your primary problem.

If you want a symlink to ALWAYS point at the same file, regardless of the where the symlink is located, then the target should be the full path.

I have had this issue before and it turned out that Skype was interferring with port 80. So you may have to look at your system to see if you have another application utilizing this port.

Anyway under Skype, to change this setting it was: Tools->Options->Advanced->Connection->Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections. Untick this, restart Skype, restart wamp.

Make sure your object confirm Codable.

Swift's default variable types like Int, String, Double and ..., all are Codable that means we can convert theme to Data and vice versa.

You should always pay attention to types.

Although they all seem like strings, "Hello" and ",world" are literals.

And in your example, exclam is a std::string object.

C++ has an operator overload that takes a std::string object and adds another string to it. When you concatenate a std::string object with a literal it will make the appropriate casting for the literal.

But if you try to concatenate two literals, the compiler won't be able to find an operator that takes two literals.

• Height is easily implemented by recursion, take the maximum of the height of the subtrees plus one.

• The "balance factor of R" refers to the right subtree of the tree which is out of balance, I suppose.

Serialization

The vshost.exe file is the executable run by Visual Studio (Visual Studio host executable). This is the executable that links to Visual Studio and improves debugging.

When you're distributing your application to others, you do not use the vshost.exe or .pdb (debug database) files.

Simply call InetAddress.getByName(String host) passing in your textual IP address.

From the javadoc: The host name can either be a machine name, such as "java.sun.com", or a textual representation of its IP address.

Obviously, this is all pretty irrelevant, as you should always go for clarity and avoid reinventing the wheel, but I found it a little interesting, so I thought I'd leave it here.

I post the below solution here because after some searching this is where I landed, so other may too. I was trying to use EF 6 to call a stored procedure, but had a similar error because the stored procedure had a linked server being utilized.

The operation could not be performed because OLE DB provider _ for linked server _ was unable to begin a distributed transaction

The partner transaction manager has disabled its support for remote/network transactions*

Jumping over to SQL Client did fix my issue, which also confirmed for me that it was an EF thing.

EF model generated method based attempt:

The above Code is C#, but the concept of trying to switch over to Sql Client still applies. At the very least it will be diagnostic to attempt to do so.

The standard approach is to use sprintf(buffer, "%lu", value); to write a string rep of value to buffer. However, overflow is a potential problem, as sprintf will happily (and unknowingly) write over the end of your buffer.

This is actually a big weakness of sprintf, partially fixed in C++ by using streams rather than buffers. The usual "answer" is to allocate a very generous buffer unlikely to overflow, let sprintf output to that, and then use strlen to determine the actual string length produced, calloc a buffer of (that size + 1) and copy the string to that.

This site discusses this and related problems at some length.

Some libraries offer snprintf as an alternative which lets you specify a maximum buffer size.

The problem is two fold-

1. To retain the integral (mathematical integer) part of the double. Hence can't typecast (int) percentageValue
2. Truncate (and not round) the decimal part. Hence can't use String.format("%.0f", percentageValue) or new java.text.DecimalFormat("#").format(percentageValue) as both of these round the decimal part.

The only specific reasons to set autocrlf to true are:

• avoid git status showing all your files as modified because of the automatic EOL conversion done when cloning a Unix-based EOL Git repo to a Windows one (see issue 83 for instance)
• and your coding tools somehow depends on a native EOL style being present in your file:
  • for instance, a code generator hard-coded to detect native EOL
  • other external batches (external to your repo) with regexp or code set to detect native EOL
  • I believe some Eclipse plugins can produce files with CRLF regardless on platform, which can be a problem.
  • You code with Notepad.exe (unless you are using a Windows 10 2018.09+, where Notepad respects the EOL character detected).

Unless you can see specific treatment which must deal with native EOL, you are better off leaving autocrlf to false (git config --global core.autocrlf false).

Note that this config would be a local one (because config isn't pushed from repo to repo)

If you want the same config for all users cloning that repo, check out "What's the best CRLF handling strategy with git?", using the text attribute in the .gitattributes file.

The root directory of a web application has a special significance and certain content can be present on in that folder. It can have a special file called as “Global.asax”. ASP.Net framework uses the content in the global.asax and creates a class at runtime which is inherited from HttpApplication. During the lifetime of an application, ASP.NET maintains a pool of Global.asax derived HttpApplication instances. When an application receives an http request, the ASP.Net page framework assigns one of these instances to process that request. That instance is responsible for managing the entire lifetime of the request it is assigned to and the instance can only be reused after the request has been completed when it is returned to the pool. The instance members in Global.asax cannot be used for sharing data across requests but static member can be. Global.asax can contain the event handlers of HttpApplication object and some other important methods which would execute at various points in a web application

Basically VOLUME and -v option are almost equal. These mean 'mount specific directory on your container'. For example, VOLUME /data and -v /data is exactly same meaning. If you run the image that have VOLUME /data or with -v /data option, /data directory is mounted your container. This directory doesn't belong to your container.

Imagine that You add some files to /data on the container, then commit the container into new image. There isn't any files on data directory because mounted /data directory is belong to original container.

This mounted directory like /data is used to store data that is not belong to your application. And you can predefine the data directory that is not belong to the container by using VOLUME.

A difference between Volume and -v option is that you can use -v option dynamically on starting container. It mean you can mount some directory dynamically. And another difference is that you can mount your host directory on your container by using -v

If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, it isn't that difficult to write an RTF to HTML converter.

Writing a general purpose RTF->HTML converter would be somewhat complicated because you would need to deal with hundreds of RTF verbs. However, in your case you are only dealing with those verbs used specifically by Crystal Reports. I'll bet the standard RTF coding generated by Crystal doesn't vary much from report to report.

I wrote an RTF to HTML converter in C++, but it only deals with basic formatting like fonts, paragraph alignments, etc. My translator basically strips out any specialized formatting that it isn't prepared to deal with. It took about 400 lines of C++. It basically scans the text for RTF tags and replaces them with equivalent HTML tags. RTF tags that aren't in my list are simply stripped out. A regex function is really helpful when writing such a converter.

I rolled my own in F# (see this question), but it still isn't perfect (I just do regexps, so I don't recognise classes or method names etc.).

Basically, from what I can tell, the blogger editor will sometimes eat your angle brackets if you switch between Compose and HTML mode. So you have to paste into HTML mode then save directly. (I may be wrong on this, just tried now and it seems to work - browser dependent?)

It's horrible when you have generics!

The :query_string_normalizer option is also available, which will override the default normalizer HashConversions.to_params(query)

Both are correct, but they are being interpreted as dates with two different timezones. So you compared apples and oranges:

I removed the Date.parse() call since it's used automatically on a string argument. I also compared the dates using ISO8601 format so you could visually compare the dates between your local dates and the UTC dates. The times are 7 hours apart, which is the timezone difference and why your tests showed two different dates.

The other way of creating these same local/UTC dates would be:

Despite much effort, I have not found a built-in or plugin-assisted way to do what you're trying to do. I completely agree that it should be possible, as the program can distinguish foo from buffoon when you first highlight it, but no one seems to know a way of doing it.

However, here are some useful key combos for selecting words in Sublime Text 2:

Ctrl?G - selects all occurrences of the current word (AltF3 on Windows/Linux)

?D - selects the next instance of the current word (CtrlD)

• ?K,?D - skips the current instance and goes on to select the next one (CtrlK,CtrlD)
• ?U - "soft undo", moves back to the previous selection (CtrlU)

?E, ?H - uses the current selection as the "Find" field in Find and Replace (CtrlE,CtrlH)

The comment posted by the OP to the question (basically stating that the targetSDK doesn't affect the compiling of an app) is entirely wrong! Sorry to be blunt.

In short, here is the purpose to declaring a different targetSDK from the minSDK: It means you are using features from a higher level SDK than your minimum, but you have ensured backwards compatibility. In other words, imagine that you want to use a feature that was only recently introduced, but that isn't critical to your application. You would then set the targetSDK to the version where this new feature was introduced and the minimum to something lower so that everyone could still use your app.

To give an example, let's say you're writing an app that makes extensive use of gesture detection. However, every command that can be recognised by a gesture can also be done by a button or from the menu. In this case, gestures are a 'cool extra' but aren't required. Therefore you would set the target sdk to 7 ("Eclair" when the GestureDetection library was introduced), and the minimumSDK to level 3 ("Cupcake") so that even people with really old phones could use your app. All you'd have to do is make sure that your app checked the version of Android it was running on before trying to use the gesture library, to avoid trying to use it if it didn't exist. (Admittedly this is a dated example since hardly anyone still has a v1.5 phone, but there was a time when maintaining compatibility with v1.5 was really important.)

To give another example, you could use this if you wanted to use a feature from Gingerbread or Honeycomb. Some people will get the updates soon, but many others, particularly with older hardware, might stay stuck with Eclair until they buy a new device. This would let you use some of the cool new features, but without excluding part of your possible market.

In case the WebSocket server initiative disconnects the ws link after a few minutes there no messages sent between the server and client.

1. client sends a custom ping message, to keep alive by using the keepAlive function

2. server ignore the ping message and response a custom pong message

If it's too late at night and your table is already innoDB and you still don't see the link, maybe is due to the fact that now it's placed above the structure of the table, like in the picture is shown

Probably the file is not in the path specified. '../../../' will move 3 step up to the directory in which the page is located and look for the js file in a folder named JS.

Also the language attribute is Deprecated.

You can always use Request.QueryString collection like Web forms, but you can also make MVC handle them and pass them as parameters. This is the suggested way as it's easier and it will validate input data type automatically.
