In short you can load the script file with AJAX or put a script tag on the HTML to include it( before the script that uses the functions of the other script). The link I posted is a great answer and has multiple examples and explanations of both methods.

In TortiseSVN settings

The side effect is that it clears out all authentication data and you have to re-enter your own username/password.

Which gives you some info about what's going on with your virtual hosts. It's not perfect, but it helps.

I can't speak for the 2nd or 3rd, but if you install Node first, Sublime-HTMLPrettify works pretty well. You have to setup your own key shortcut once it is installed. One thing I noticed on Windows, you may need to edit your path for Node in the %PATH% variable if it is already long (I think the limit is 1024 for the %PATH% variable, and anything after that is ignored.)

There is a Windows bug, but in the issues there is a fix for it. You'll need to edit the HTMLPrettify.py file - https://github.com/victorporof/Sublime-HTMLPrettify/issues/12

the main issue with the following error:

android:layout_gravity="right"

for list-view in right, but try to open the drawer from left, by calling this function:

mDrawerToggle.syncState();

and clicking on hamburger icon!

After calling the Async task, the async task runs in the background. that is desirable. Now, this Async task has a progress dialog which is attached to the Activity, if you ask how to see the code:

You are passing the Class.this as context to the argument. So the Progress dialog is still attached to the activity.

Now consider the scenario: If we try to finish the activity using the finish() method, while the async task is in progress, is the point where you are trying to access the Resource attached to the activity ie the progress bar when the activity is no more there.

Hence you get:

1) Make sure that the Dialog box is dismissed or canceled before the activity finishes.

You were on the right track, but there were some problems with the code you posted. First of all, there was no closing bracket for the while loop. Secondly, $line_of_text would be overwritten with every loop iteration, which is fixed by changing the = to a .= in the loop. It depends on how hard you want to work, but yes it's possible. The problem you are going to have is that you have to learn to program along with learning java. These are two very different things. Programming is knowing how to read and write logic and Java is a language you write it in. If you have a math or physics background, this is going to be a lot easier, as you are already exposed to thinking in such a manner.

If you don't have books on beginning Java I would go buy one of those.

I would also pick up the book Code (I would try and get through this in a few days, if not over the weekend if possible). Actually with 10 weeks I would do this first as it will be a foundation for what you'll need to know to program Java.

With 10 weeks, you are going to have to pretty much study every night to get the hang of it by the time you go to class. My best advice is that when you take the class, take lots of notes, and don't expect to understand everything. Most of what gets thrown at you there will probably go over your head at first and you'll forget. That's ok. After the class if over, go back and review the notes etc until it starts to make sense.

You will have to save the relationship on the server side. The value is the only part that is transmitted when the form is posted. You could do something nasty like...

Then split the result apart if you really wanted to, but that is an ugly hack and a waste of bandwidth assuming the numbers are truly unique and have a one to one relationship with the text.

The best way would be to create an array, and loop over the array to create the HTML. Once the form is posted you can use the value to look up the text in that same array.

The :last-child pseudoclass still cannot be reliably used across browsers. In particular, Internet Explorer versions < 9, and Safari < 3.2 definitely don't support it, although Internet Explorer 7 and Safari 3.2 do support :first-child, curiously.

There's a couple of other tricks that Postgres offers for string matching (if that happens to be your DB):

ILIKE, which is a case insensitive LIKE match:

I had this problem myself. Most of the information I could find online was related to people having this problem with an ASP.NET web application. I was creating a Win Forms stand alone app so most of the advice wasn't helpful for me.

Turns out that the problem was that my project was set to use the ".NET 4 Framework Client Profile" as the target framework and the System.Web.Extensions reference was not in the list for adding. I changed the target to ".NET 4 Framework" and then the reference was available by the normal methods.

Here is what worked for me step by step:

1. Right Click you project Select Properties
2. Change your Target Framework to ".NET Framework 4"
3. Do whatever you need to do to save the changes and close the preferences tab
4. Right click on the References item in your Solution Explorer
5. Choose Add Reference...
6. In the .NET tab, scroll down to System.Web.Extensions and add it.

If you choose to instead use activities instead of fragments you are going to run into the problem of the nav drawer being re-created every time you navigate to a new activity. This results in an ugly/slow rendering of the nav drawer each time.

I got it working after re-doing everything and then creating an empty project with XCode and building/running it to the device. XCode showed a window asking something like: Do you want to accept the developer certificate. I pressed "Always". Only after this step I got rid of the message "A valid signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain" in Organizer.

In light of apparent dislike for how I've attempted to answer the OP's question. The literal answer is, a promise is something shared w/ other objects, while a deferred should be kept private. Primarily, a deferred (which generally extends Promise) can resolve itself, while a promise might not be able to do so.

So far as I'm aware, the overarching purpose is to improve clarity and loosen coupling through a standardized interface. See suggested reading from @jfriend00:

Rather than directly passing callbacks to functions, something which can lead to tightly coupled interfaces, using promises allows one to separate concerns for code that is synchronous or asynchronous.

Personally, I've found deferred especially useful when dealing with e.g. templates that are populated by asynchronous requests, loading scripts that have networks of dependencies, and providing user feedback to form data in a non-blocking manner.

Indeed, compare the pure callback form of doing something after loading CodeMirror in JS mode asynchronously (apologies, I've not used jQuery in a while):

If you get your local repo into a complete mess, then a reliable way to throw away local commits in Git is to...

1. Use "git config --get remote.origin.url" to get URL of remote origin
2. Rename local git folder to "my_broken_local_repo"
3. Use "git clone <url_from_1>" to get fresh local copy of remote git repository

In my experience Eclipse handles the world changing around it quite well. However, you may need to select affected projects in Eclipse and clean them to force Eclipse to rebuild them. I guess other IDEs may need a forced rebuild too.

A side benefit of the above procedure is that you will find out if your project relies on local files that were not put into git. If you find you are missing files then you can copy them in from "my_broken_local_repo" and add them to git. Once you have confidence that your new local repo has everything you need then you can delete "my_broken_local_repo".

The grammar of the language specifies that positional arguments appear before keyword or starred arguments in calls:

Specifically, a keyword argument looks like this: tag='insider trading!' while a positional argument looks like this: ..., exchange, .... and it is recommended to use sys.dm_tran_locks instead. This dynamic management object returns information about currently active lock manager resources. Each row represents a currently active request to the lock manager for a lock that has been granted or is waiting to be granted.

It generally returns more details in more user friendly syntax then sp_lock does.

The whoisactive routine written by Adam Machanic is very good to check the current activity in your environment and see what types of waits/locks are slowing your queries. You can very easily find what is blocking your queries and tons of other handy information.

Why Does It Work This Way?

You might naturally wonder why anybody would want this. Well, sometimes you want to write a .py file that can be both used by other programs and/or modules as a module, and can also be run as the main program itself. Examples:

• Your module is a library, but you want to have a script mode where it runs some unit tests or a demo.

• Your module is only used as a main program, but it has some unit tests, and the testing framework works by importing .py files like your script and running special test functions. You don't want it to try running the script just because it's importing the module.

• Your module is mostly used as a main program, but it also provides a programmer-friendly API for advanced users.

Beyond those examples, it's elegant that running a script in Python is just setting up a few magic variables and importing the script. "Running" the script is a side effect of importing the script's module.

• Question: Can I have multiple __name__ checking blocks? Answer: it's strange to do so, but the language won't stop you.

As I understand it, you ignore the second array item in the array destructuring that would allow you to update id, and now you've got a value that won't be updated again for the life of the component.

The value of id will be myprefix-<n> where <n> is an incremental integer value returned from uniqueId. If that's not unique enough for you, consider making your own like

One may also use UNREFERENCED_PARAMETER defined in WinNT.H. The definition is just:

Why would you use it, you might argue that you can just omit the variable name itself. Well, there are cases (different project configuration, Debug/Release builds) where the variable might actually be used. In another configuration that variable stands unused (and hence the warning).

Some static code analysis may still give warning for this non-nonsensical statement (wParam;). In that case, you mayuse DBG_UNREFERENCED_PARAMETER which is same as UNREFERENCED_PARAMETER in debug builds, and does P=P in release build.

LENGTH() does return the string length (just verified). I suppose that your data is padded with blanks - try

As OraNob mentioned, another cause could be that CHAR is used in which case LENGTH() would also return the column width, not the string length. However, the TRIM() approach also works in this case.

I typically have a secrets.py that is stored separately from my other python scripts and is not under version control. Then whenever required, you can do from secrets import <required_pwd_var>. This way you can rely on the operating systems in-built file security system without re-inventing your own.

Using Base64 encoding/decoding is also another way to obfuscate the password though not completely secure

The -H 'Cache-Control: no-cache' argument is not guaranteed to work because the remote server or any proxy layers in between can ignore it. If it doesn't work, you can do it the old-fashioned way, by adding a unique querystring parameter. Usually, the servers/proxies will think it's a unique URL and not use the cache.

Maybe it is easier to use the Mat_ class. It is a template wrapper for Mat. Mat_ has the operator() overloaded in order to access the elements.

With:

indented underneath all like that, it's a build command. So this expands $(shell ls), then tries to run the command FILES ....

If FILES is supposed to be a make variable, these variables need to be assigned outside the recipe portion, e.g.:

Of course, that means that FILES will be set to "output from ls" before running any of the commands that create the .tgz files. (Though as Kaz notes the variable is re-expanded each time, so eventually it will include the .tgz files; some make variants have FILES := ... to avoid this, for efficiency and/or correctness.¹)

If FILES is supposed to be a shell variable, you can set it but you need to do it in shell-ese, with no spaces, and quoted:

Finally, as a general rule (not really applicable to this example): as esperanto notes in comments, using the output from ls is not completely reliable (some details depend on file names and sometimes even the version of ls; some versions of ls attempt to sanitize output in some cases). Thus, as l0b0 and idelic note, if you're using GNU make you can use $(wildcard) and $(subst ...) to accomplish everything inside make itself (avoiding any "weird characters in file name" issues). (In sh scripts, including the recipe portion of makefiles, another method is to use find ... -print0 | xargs -0 to avoid tripping over blanks, newlines, control characters, and so on.)

¹The GNU Make documentation notes further that POSIX make added ::= assignment in 2012. I have not found a quick reference link to a POSIX document for this, nor do I know off-hand which make variants support ::= assignment, although GNU make does today, with the same meaning as :=, i.e., do the assignment right now with expansion.

Note that VAR := $(shell command args...) can also be spelled VAR != command args... in several make variants, including all modern GNU and BSD variants as far as I know. These other variants do not have $(shell) so using VAR != command args... is superior in both being shorter and working in more variants.

Before the launch of Java SE 7 we were habitual of writing code with multiple catch statements associated with a try block. A very basic Example:

But now with the latest update on Java, instead of writing multiple catch statements we can handle multiple exceptions within a single catch clause. Here is an example showing how this feature can be achieved.

So multiple Exceptions in a single catch clause not only simplifies the code but also reduce the redundancy of code. I found this article which explains this feature very well along with its implementation. Improved and Better Exception Handling from Java 7 This may help you too.

As Seth stated thread safe means that a method or class instance can be used by multiple threads at the same time without any problems occuring.

Consider the following method:

public int AddOne()

    myInt = tmp;
    return tmp;

Now thread A and thread B both would like to execute AddOne(). but A starts first and reads the value of myInt (0) into tmp. Now for some reason the scheduler decides to halt thread A and defer execution to thread B. Thread B now also reads the value of myInt (still 0) into it's own variable tmp. Thread B finishes the entire method, so in the end myInt = 1. And 1 is returned. Now it's Thread A's turn again. Thread A continues. And adds 1 to tmp (tmp was 0 for thread A). And then saves this value in myInt. myInt is again 1.

So in this case the method AddOne() was called two times, but because the method was not implemented in a thread safe way the value of myInt is not 2, as expected, but 1 because the second thread read the variable myInt before the first thread finished updating it.

Creating thread safe methods is very hard in non trivial cases. And there are quite a few techniques. In Java you can mark a method as synchronized, this means that only one thread can execute that method at a given time. The other threads wait in line. This makes a method thread safe, but if there is a lot of work to be done in a method, then this wastes a lot of time. Another technique is to 'mark only a small part of a method as synchronized' by creating a lock or semaphore, and locking this small part (usually called the critical section). There are even some methods that are implemented as lockless thread safe, which means that they are built in such a way that multiple threads can race through them at the same time without ever causing problems, this can be the case when a method only executes one atomic call. Atomic calls are calls that can't be interrupted and can only be done by one thread at a time.

A few notes:

• There is no way to retrieve a list of connected devices at application startup. The Bluetooth API does not allow you to QUERY, instead it allows you to listen to CHANGES.
• A hoaky work around to the above problem would be to retrieve the list of all known/paired devices... then trying to connect to each one (to determine if you're connected).
• Alternatively, you could have a background service watch the Bluetooth API and write the device states to disk for your application to use at a later date.

You want to use std::endl to end your lines. An alternative is using '\n' character. These two things are different, std::endl flushes the buffer and writes your output immediately while '\n' allows the outfile to put all of your output into a buffer and maybe write it later.

jQuery.i18n is a lightweight jQuery plugin for enabling internationalization in your web pages. It allows you to package custom resource strings in ‘.properties’ files, just like in Java Resource Bundles. It loads and parses resource bundles (.properties) based on provided language or language reported by browser.

Check out the implode() function as an alternative. This will convert the array into a list. The first param is how you want the items separated. Here I have used a comma with a space after it.

If you do a straight git pull then you will either be 'fast-forwarded' or merge an unknown number of commits from the remote repository. Your root logger definition is a bit confused. See the log4j documentation.

This is a standard Java properties file, which means that lines are treated as key=value pairs. Your second log4j.rootLogger line is overwriting the first, which explains why you aren't seeing anything on the console appender.

You need to merge your two rootLogger definitions into one. It looks like you're trying to have DEBUG messages go to the console and INFO messages to the file. The root logger can only have one level, so you need to change your configuration so that the appenders have appropriate levels.

While I haven't verified that this is correct, I'd guess it'll look something like this:

I changed the padding-top values to push the text down on my navbar element. You can pretty much override any Bootstrap element like this and its a good way of making changes without screwing up the Boostrap base classes because the last thing you want to do is make a change in there and then lose it when you updated Bootstrap!

Finally for even more separation I like to split up my CSS files and use @import declarations to import your sub-files into one main CSS File for easy management for example:

@import url('css/mysubcssfile.css');

note: if you're pulling in multiple files you need to make sure they load in the right order.

Is it necessary to use a BigDecimal? If you don't have to, I'd use an int or long for seconds, and it would simplify things a little bit:

While zip(*seq) is very useful, it may be unsuitable for very long sequences as it will create a tuple of values to be passed in. For example, I've been working with a coordinate system with over a million entries and find it signifcantly faster to create the sequences directly.

A generic approach would be something like this:

This is an alternative answer for the case where tqdm_notebook doesn't work for you.

Given the following example:

The problem is that the output to stdout and stderr are processed asynchronously and separately in terms of new lines.

If say Jupyter receives on stderr the first line and then the "processed" output on stdout. Then once it receives an output on stderr to update the progress, it wouldn't go back and update the first line as it would only update the last line. Instead it will have to write a new line.

Workaround 1, writing to stdout

One workaround would be to output both to stdout instead:

I have a simple solution. Create a new Image asset by right clicking your package name and selecting New->Image asset. Enter name (any name) and path (location of image in your system). Then click Next and Finish. If you enter name of image as 'img', a round image with the name 'img_round' is created automatically in mipmap folder.

Then, do this :

I have used JetBrains dotTrace and Redgate ANTS extensively. They are fairly similar in features and price. They both offer useful performance profiling and quite basic memory profiling.

dotTrace integrates with Resharper, which is really convenient, as you can profile the performance of a unit test with one click from the IDE. However, dotTrace often seems to give spurious results (e.g. saying that a method took several years to run)

I prefer the way that ANTS presents the profiling results. It shows you the source code and to the left of each line tells you how long it took to run. dotTrace just has a tree view.

EQATEC profiler is quite basic and requires you to compile special instrumented versions of your assemblies which can then be run in the EQATEC profiler. It is, however, free.

Overall I prefer ANTS for performance profiling, although if you use Resharper then the integration of dotTrace is a killer feature and means it beats ANTS in usability.

The free Microsoft CLR Profiler (.Net framework 2.0 / .Net Framework 4.0) is all you need for .NET memory profiling.

2011 Update:

The Scitech memory profiler has quite a basic UI but lots of useful information, including some information on unmanaged memory which dotTrace and ANTS lack - you might find it useful if you are doing COM interop, but I have yet to find any profiler that makes COM memory issues easy to diagnose - you usually have to break out windbg.exe.

The ANTS profiler has come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years, and its memory profiler has some truly useful features which now pushed it ahead of dotTrace as a package in my estimation. I'm lucky enough to have licenses for both, but if you are going to buy one .Net profiler for both performance and memory, make it ANTS.

Line breaks are managed differently on different systems. Some only use \n (line feed, e.g. Unix), some use (\r e.g. MacOS before OS X afaik) and some use \r\n (e.g. Windows afaik).

I just want to point out that if you would like to use different names for your inputs you can also use (or just copy the method) require_from_group method from official jQuery Validation additional-methods.js (link to CDN for version 1.13.1).

If the structures are of compatible types, yes, you can, with something like:

memcpy (dest_struct, source_struct, sizeof (*dest_struct));

The only thing you need to be aware of is that this is a shallow copy. In other words, if you have a char * pointing to a specific string, both structures will point to the same string.

And changing the contents of one of those string fields (the data that the char * points to, not the char * itself) will change the other as well.

If you want a easy copy without having to manually do each field but with the added bonus of non-shallow string copies, use strdup:

This will copy the entire contents of the structure, then deep-copy the string, effectively giving a separate string to each structure.

partition by doesn't actually roll up the data. It allows you to reset something on a per group basis. For example, you can get an ordinal column within a group by partitioning on the grouping field and using rownum() over the rows within that group. This gives you something that behaves a bit like an identity column that resets at the beginning of each group.

For 3-D visualization pythreejs is the best way to go probably in the notebook. It leverages the interactive widget infrastructure of the notebook, so connection between the JS and python is seamless.

A more advanced library is bqplot which is a d3-based interactive viz library for the iPython notebook, but it only does 2D

It's about readability. It's easier to reason about the possible states of the program when you know that variables are assigned once and only once.

A decent alternative is to turn on the IDE warning when a parameter is assigned, or when a variable (other than a loop variable) is assigned more than once.

I wanted to add my experience on that. Indeed EF, when you add an object to the context, it changes the state of all the children and related entities to Added. Although there is a small exception in the rule here: if the children/related entities are being tracked by the same context, EF does understand that these entities exist and doesn't add them. The problem happens when for example, you load the children/related entities from some other context or a web ui etc and then yes, EF doesn't know anything about these entities and goes and adds all of them. To avoid that, just get the keys of the entities and find them (e.g. context.Students.FirstOrDefault(s => s.Name == "Alice")) in the same context in which you want to do the addition.

The second method would almost certainly be the fastest way to test whether a null-terminated string is empty, since it involves one read and one comparison. There's certainly nothing wrong with this approach in this case, so you may as well use it.

The third method doesn't check whether a character array is empty; it ensures that a character array is empty.

Define the variables at the beginning of the function so if there are no records, the variables exist and you won't get the error. Check for null values in the returned array.

As others have said, if you need to store cents precisely, do not use float or double, use int, long, BigInteger or BigDecimal.

You should use TryParse - Parse throws an exception if the string is not a valid number - e.g. if you want to test for a valid integer:

The "drawback" is that your main function now has to be async as well. But, considering you are already writing modern Javascript code, you are probably (or at least should be!) using async/await all over your code, so this is really not an issue. All modern browsers today support it.

Giving a little insight into the sleep function for those that are not used to async/await and fat arrow operators, this is the verbose way of writing it:

For me Pawan's css class combined with display: inline-block (so the selects don't stack) works best. And I wrap it in a media-query, so it stays Mobile Friendly:

I am late here but I resolved same kind of problem in this way that is simple and easy.

Even if there are tools that allow you to mock your database in one way or another (e.g. jOOQ's MockConnection, which can be seen in this answer - disclaimer, I work for jOOQ's vendor), I would advise not to mock larger databases with complex queries.

Even if you just want to integration-test your ORM, beware that an ORM issues a very complex series of queries to your database, that may vary in

• syntax
• complexity
• order (!)

Mocking all that to produce sensible dummy data is quite hard, unless you're actually building a little database inside your mock, which interprets the transmitted SQL statements. Having said so, use a well-known integration-test database that you can easily reset with well-known data, against which you can run your integration tests.

When choosing the "best" approach, a more important consideration than speed might be the maintainability and correctness of your code. If so, SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS is preferable because you only need to maintain a single query. My issue was that i had multiple versions of MS SQL express installed. I went to installation folder C:/ProgramFiles/MicrosoftSQL Server/ where i found 3 versions of it. I deleted 2 folders, and left only MSSQL13.SQLEXPRESS which solved the problem.

First, a basic truth about PHP.

PHP was not designed to explicitly give you a pure REST (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE) like interface for handling HTTP requests.

However, the $_SERVER, $_COOKIE, $_POST, $_GET, and $_FILES superglobals, and the function filter_input_array() are very useful for the average person's / layman's needs.

The number one hidden advantage of $_POST (and $_GET) is that your input data is url-decoded automatically by PHP. You never even think about having to do it, especially for query string parameters within a standard GET request, or HTTP body data submitted with a POST request.

Other HTTP Request Methods

Those studying the underlying HTTP protocol and its various request methods come to understand that there are many HTTP request methods, including the often referenced PUT, PATCH (not used in Google's Apigee), and DELETE.

In PHP, there are no superglobals or input filter functions for getting HTTP request body data when POST is not used. What are disciples of Roy Fielding to do? ;-)

However, then you learn more ...

That being said, as you advance in your PHP programming knowledge and want to use JavaScript's XmlHttpRequest object (jQuery for some), you come to see the limitation of this scheme.

$_POST limits you to the use of two media types in the HTTP Content-Type header:

1. application/x-www-form-urlencoded, and
2. multipart/form-data

Thus, if you want to send data values to PHP on the server, and have it show up in the $_POST superglobal, then you must urlencode it on the client-side and send said data as key/value pairs--an inconvenient step for novices (especially when trying to figure out if different parts of the URL require different forms of urlencoding: normal, raw, etc..).

For all you jQuery users, the $.ajax() method is converting your JSON to URL encoded key/value pairs before transmitting them to the server. You can override this behavior by setting processData: false. Just read the $.ajax() documentation, and don't forget to send the correct media type in the Content-Type header.

Even if you use php://input instead of $_POST for your HTTP POST request body data, it will not work with an HTTP Content-Type of multipart/form-data This is the content type that you use on an HTML form when you want to allow file uploads!

Therefore, in traditional PHP, to deal with a diversity of content types from an HTTP POST request, you will learn to use $_POST or filter_input_array(POST), $_FILES, and php://input. There is no way to just use one, universal input source for HTTP POST requests in PHP.

You cannot get files through $_POST, filter_input_array(POST), or php://input, and you cannot get JSON/XML/YAML in either filter_input_array(POST) or $_POST.

php://input is a read-only stream that allows you to read raw data from the request body...php://input is not available with enctype="multipart/form-data".

PHP Frameworks to the rescue?

PHP frameworks like Codeigniter 4 and Laravel use a facade to provide a cleaner interface (IncomingRequest or Request objects) to the above. This is why professional PHP developers use frameworks instead of raw PHP.

Of course, if you like to program, you can devise your own facade object to provide what frameworks do. It is because I have taken time to investigate this issue that I am able to write this answer.

URL encoding? What the heck!!!???

Typically, if you are doing a normal, synchronous (when the entire page redraws) HTTP requests with an HTML form, the user-agent (web browser) will urlencode your form data for you. If you want to do an asynchronous HTTP requests using the XmlHttpRequest object, then you must fashion a urlencoded string and send it, if you want that data to show up in the $_POST superglobal.

How in touch are you with JavaScript? :-)

Converting from a JavaScript array or object to a urlencoded string bothers many developers (even with new APIs like Form Data). They would much rather just be able to send JSON, and it would be more efficient for the client code to do so.

Remember (wink, wink), the average web developer does not learn to use the XmlHttpRequest object directly, global functions, string functions, array functions, and regular expressions like you and I ;-). Urlencoding for them is a nightmare. ;-)

PHP, what gives?

PHP's lack of intuitive XML and JSON handling turns many people off. You would think it would be part of PHP by now (sigh).

Now, before you deal with data values streamed through php://input, you should / must do a few things.

1. Determine if the correct HTTP method has been indicated (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE, ...)
2. Determine if the HTTP Content-Type header has been transmitted.
3. Determine if the value for the Content-Type is the desired media type.
4. Determine if the data sent is well formed XML / JSON / YAML / etc.
5. If necessary, convert the data to a PHP datatype: array or object.
6. If any of these basic checks or conversions fails, throw an exception!

What about the character encoding?

AH, HA! Yes, you might want the data stream being sent into your application to be UTF-8 encoded, but how can you know if it is or not?

Two critical problems.

1. You do not know how much data is coming through php://input.
2. You do not know for certain the current encoding of the data stream.

Are you going to attempt to handle stream data without knowing how much is there first? That is a terrible idea. You cannot rely exclusively on the HTTP Content-Length header for guidance on the size of streamed input because it can be spoofed.

You are going to need a:

1. Stream size detection algorithm.
2. Application defined stream size limits (Apache / Nginx / PHP limits may be too broad).

Are you going to attempt to convert stream data to UTF-8 without knowing the current encoding of the stream? How? The iconv stream filter (iconv stream filter example) seems to want a starting and ending encoding, like this.

'convert.iconv.ISO-8859-1/UTF-8'

Thus, if you are conscientious, you will need:

1. Stream encoding detection algorithm.
2. Dynamic / runtime stream filter definition algorithm (because you cannot know the starting encoding a priori).

(Update: 'convert.iconv.UTF-8/UTF-8' will force everything to UTF-8, but you still have to account for characters that the iconv library might not know how to translate. In other words, you have to some how define what action to take when a character cannot be translated: 1) Insert a dummy character, 2) Fail / throw and exception).

You cannot rely exclusively on the HTTP Content-Encoding header, as this might indicate something like compression as in the following. This is not what you want to make a decision off of in regards to iconv.

Content-Encoding: gzip

Therefore, the general steps might be ...

Part I: HTTP Request Related

1. Determine if the correct HTTP method has been indicated (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, DELETE, ...)
2. Determine if the HTTP Content-Type header has been transmitted.
3. Determine if the value for the Content-Type is the desired media type.

Part II: Stream Data Related

4. Determine the size of the input stream (optional, but recommended).
5. Determine the encoding of the input stream.
6. If necessary, convert the input stream to the desired character encoding (UTF-8).
7. If necessary, reverse any application level compression or encryption, and then repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.

Part III: Data Type Related

8. Determine if the data sent is well formed XML / JSON / YMAL / etc.

(Remember, the data can still be a URL encoded string which you must then parse and URL decode).

9. If necessary, convert the data to a PHP datatype: array or object.

Part IV: Data Value Related

10. Filter input data.

11. Validate input data.

Now do you see?

The $_POST superglobal, along with php.ini settings for limits on input, are simpler for the layman. However, dealing with character encoding is much more intuitive and efficient when using streams because there is no need to loop through superglobals (or arrays, generally) to check input values for the proper encoding.

To expand a little more, there are two kinds of constructors: instance initializers (.ctor), type initializers (.cctor). Build the code below, and explore the IL code in ildasm.exe. You will notice that the static field 'b' will be initialized through .cctor() whereas the instance field will be initialized through .ctor()

In addition to the above answers, there is always the scorched earth method.

rm -R <folder>

in Windows shell the command is:

rd /s <folder>

Then you can just checkout the project again:

git clone -v <repository URL> 

This will definitely remove any local changes and pull the latest from the remote repository. Be careful with rm -R as it will delete your good data if you put the wrong path. For instance, definitely do not do:

rm -R /

As people have mentioned in the comments keyvalue pipe does not retain the order of insertion (which is the primary purpose of Map).

Anyhow, looks like if you have a Map object and want to preserve the order, the cleanest way to do so is entries() function:

To clear the value you can always reset it to $Null. For example:

LDAPService should contain method like LDAPService.isExists(String userName) use it to prevent NPE to be thrown. If is not - this could be a workaround, but use Logging to post some warning..
