Canvas text support is actually pretty good - you can control font, size, color, horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, and you can also get text metrics to get the text width in pixels. In addition, you can also use canvas transforms to rotate, stretch and even invert text.

Setting Tomcat to listen to port 80 is WRONG , for development the 8080 is a good port to use. For production use, just set up an apache that shall forward your requests to your tomcat. Here is a how to.

I just came up with a general solution, which should work on most websites. I tried this on Chrome only, but this method should work with any other browser, though, as Dev Tools are pretty much the same in them all.

Steps:

1. Open the browser's Dev Tools (usually F12, or Ctrl-Shift-I, or right-click and then Inspect in the popup menu) on the page with the video you are interested in.
2. Go to Network tab and then reload the page. The tab will get populated with a list of requests (may be up to a hundred of them or even more).
3. Search through the names of requests and find the request with .m3u8 extension. There may be many of them, but most likely the first you find is the one you are looking for. It may have any name, e.g. playlist.m3u8.
4. Open the request and under Headers subsection you will see request's full URL in Request URL field. Copy it.
5. Extract the video from m3u8. There are many ways to do it, I'll give you those I tried, but you can google more by "download video from m3u8".
   • Option 1. If you have VLC player installed, feed the URL to VLC using "Open Network Stream..." menu option. I'm not going to go into details on this part here, there are a number of comprehensive guides in many places, for example, here. If the page doesn't work, you can always google another one by "vlc download online video".
   • Option 2. If you are more into command line, use FFMPEG or your own script, as directed in this SuperUser question.

I know this won't be popular but here goes:

myISAM lacks support for database essentials like transactions and referential integrity which often results in glitchy / buggy applications. You cannot not learn proper database design fundamentals if they are not even supported by your db engine.

Not using referential integrity or transactions in the database world is like not using object oriented programming in the software world.

InnoDB exists now, use that instead! Even MySQL developers have finally conceded to change this to the default engine in newer versions, despite myISAM being the original engine that was the default in all legacy systems.

No it does not matter if you are reading or writing or what performance considerations you have, using myISAM can result in a variety of problems, such as this one I just ran into: I was performing a database sync and at the same time someone else accessed an application that accessed a table set to myISAM. Due to the lack of transaction support and the generally poor reliability of this engine, this crashed the entire database and I had to manually restart mysql!

Over the past 15 years of development I have used many databases and engines. myISAM crashed on me about a dozen times during this period, other databases, only once! And that was a microsoft SQL database where some developer wrote faulty CLR code (common language runtime - basically C# code that executes inside the database) by the way, it was not the database engine's fault exactly.

I agree with the other answers here that say that quality high-availability, high-performance applications should not use myISAM as it will not work, it is not robust or stable enough to result in a frustration-free experience. See Bill Karwin's answer for more details.

P.S. Gotta love it when myISAM fanboys downvote but can't tell you which part of this answer is incorrect.

First, make sure that the source page and the target page are both served through the file URI scheme. You can't force an http page to open a file page (but it works the other way around).

Next, your script that calls window.open() should be invoked by a user-initiated event, such as clicks, keypresses and the like. Simply calling window.open() won't work.

With PostgreSQL 8.4 or newer there is no need to specify the WITH 1 anymore. The start value that was recorded by CREATE SEQUENCE or last set by ALTER SEQUENCE START WITH will be used (most probably this will be 1).

The -ansi flag is equivalent to -std=c89. As noted, it turns off some extensions of GCC. Adding -pedantic turns off more extensions and generates more warnings. Surely using array_map and if using a container implementing ArrayAccess to derive objects is just a smarter, semantic way to go about this?

Array map semantics are similar across most languages and implementations that I've seen. It's designed to return a modified array based upon input array element (high level ignoring language compile/runtime type preference); a loop is meant to perform more logic.

For retrieving objects by ID / PK, depending upon if you are using SQL or not (it seems suggested), I'd use a filter to ensure I get an array of valid PK's, then implode with comma and place into an SQL IN() clause to return the result-set. It makes one call instead of several via SQL, optimising a bit of the call->wait cycle. Most importantly my code would read well to someone from any language with a degree of competence and we don't run into mutability problems.

Another nice thing about MVC is that you can actually define an EditorTemplate for all this, and then use it in your view via:

it should smoothly override. Using "!important" is not always the right choice..Its just a hotfix

The number in parentheses specifies the precision of fractional seconds to be stored. So, (0) would mean don't store any fraction of a second, and use only whole seconds. The default value if unspecified is 6 digits after the decimal separator.

If you want all groups known to the system, I would recommend using getent group instead of parsing /etc/group:

getent group

The reason is that on networked systems, groups may not only read from /etc/group file, but also obtained through LDAP or Yellow Pages (the list of known groups comes from the local group file plus groups received via LDAP or YP in these cases).

If you want just the group names you can use:

Ok, I think I was able to find a proper solution for that.

The way you declare the date property as an input looks incorrect but its hard to say if it's the only problem without seeing all your code. Rather than using @Input('date') declare the date property like so: private _date: string;. Also, make sure you are instantiating the model with the new keyword. Lastly, access the property using regular dot notation.

My attempt to summarize and correct the existing answers:

First, char and nchar will always use a fixed amount of storage space, even when the string to be stored is smaller than the available space, whereas varchar and nvarchar will use only as much storage space as is needed to store that string (plus two bytes of overhead, presumably to store the string length). So remember, "var" means "variable", as in variable space.

The second major point to understand is that, nchar and nvarchar store strings using exactly two bytes per character, whereas char and varchar use an encoding determined by the collation code page, which will usually be exactly one byte per character (though there are exceptions, see below). By using two bytes per character, a very wide range of characters can be stored, so the basic thing to remember here is that nchar and nvarchar tend to be a much better choice when you want internationalization support, which you probably do.

Now for some some finer points.

First, nchar and nvarchar columns always store data using UCS-2. This means that exactly two bytes per character will be used, and any Unicode character in the Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP) can be stored by an nchar or nvarchar field. However, it is not the case that any Unicode character can be stored. For example, according to Wikipedia, the code points for Egyptian hieroglyphs fall outside of the BMP. There are, therefore, Unicode strings that can be represented in UTF-8 and other true Unicode encodings that cannot be stored in a SQL Server nchar or nvarchar field, and strings written in Egyptian hieroglyphs would be among them. Fortunately your users probably don't write in that script, but it's something to keep in mind!

Another confusing but interesting point that other posters have highlighted is that char and varchar fields may use two bytes per character for certain characters if the collation code page requires it. (Martin Smith gives an excellent example in which he shows how Chinese_Traditional_Stroke_Order_100_CS_AS_KS_WS exhibits this behavior. Check it out.)

UPDATE: As of SQL Server 2012, there are finally code pages for UTF-16, for example Latin1_General_100_CI_AS_SC, which can truly cover the entire Unicode range.

I experimented a little bit and I managed to find clean solution for this problem. The approach is based on the view tagging via view->tag

In the target ViewController just assign the tag to the root view like in the following code example:

array_count_values only works for integers and strings. If you happen to want counts for float/numeric values (and you are heedless of small variations in precision or representation), this works:

In other words, there's a lot that you can do without getting a commercial license. This is especially true for web-based software, since people can use web-based software without it being distributed to them. Screwturn's web site even acknowledges this: they state that the commercial license is for "either integrating it in a commercial application, or using it in an enterprise environment where free software is not allowed," not for any use related to commerce.

answering your question 2:

I would use option b simply because it consumes much less resources. with option 'a', every client will cause the server to consume a lot of memory, loading all the files you need (even though i like php, this is one of the problems with it). With option 'b' you can load your libraries (reusable code) and share them among all client requests.

But be ware that if you have multiple cores you should tweak node.js to use all of them.

My issue has been resolved after I deleted the redundant assembly files from the bin folder.

In static class, if you are getting information from xml or reg, class tries to initialize all properties. therefore, you should control if the config variable is there otherwise properties will not initialize so the class.

Check xml referance variable is there, Check reg referance variable is is there, Make sure you handle if they are not there.

There are debugger commands p and pp that will print and prettyprint any expression following them.

@tableName Table variables are alive for duration of the script running only i.e. they are only session level objects.

To test this, open two query editor windows under sql server management studio, and create table variables with same name but different structures. You will get an idea. The @tableName object is thus temporary and used for our internal processing of data, and it doesn't contribute to the actual database structure.

There is another type of table object which can be created for temporary use. They are #tableName objects declared like similar create statement for physical tables:

This table object is created and stored in temp database. Unlike the first one, this object is more useful, can store large data and takes part in transactions etc. These tables are alive till the connection is open. You have to drop the created object by following script before re-creating it.

• The JPQL Query is not valid.
• You have not created an association between your entities that the underlying JPQL query can utilize.

When performing a join in JPQL you must ensure that an underlying association between the entities attempting to be joined exists. In your example, you are missing an association between the User and Area entities. As said by jensgram, IE6 does not support attribute selector. You could add a class="disabled" to select the disabled inputs so that this can work in IE6.

the solution lies in creating a new key when generating the signed apk. this worked for me without a fuss.

1. click on Build
2. click generate signed Bundle/APK...
3. choose either Bundle / APK (in my case APK) and click Next
4. click on create new (make sure you have a keystore path on the machine)
5. after everything, click finish to generate your signed apk

when you install, the warning will not come.

The dot is not part of the class name. It's only used in CSS/jQuery selector notation. Try this instead:

Do not confuse the "hover" pseudo-event-name with the .hover() method, which accepts one or two functions.

Also, there are no performance advantages to using it and it's more bulky than just using mouseenter or mouseleave. The answer I provided requires less code and is the proper way to achieve something like this.

While I prefer using mouseenter and mouseleave (helps me understand whats going on in the code) with .on() it is just the same as writing the following with hover()

Let me add to this old post, a working solution I used to use that works in probably 80% or more of all browsers both new and old.

The solution is complex yet simple. The first step is to make use of CSS and guise the input file type with "under-elements" that show through as it has an opacity of 0. The next step is to use JavaScript to update its label as needed.

What exactly are the rules for requesting retransmission of lost data?

The receiver does not request the retransmission. The sender waits for an ACK for the byte-range sent to the client and when not received, resends the packets, after a particular interval. This is ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest). There are several ways in which this is implemented.

Stop-and-wait ARQ
Go-Back-N ARQ
Selective Repeat ARQ

At what time frequency are the retransmission requests performed?

The retransmissions-times and the number of attempts isn't enforced by the standard. It is implemented differently by different operating systems, but the methodology is fixed. (One of the ways to fingerprint OSs perhaps?)

The timeouts are measured in terms of the RTT (Round Trip Time) times. But this isn't needed very often due to Fast-retransmit which kicks in when 3 Duplicate ACKs are received.

Is there an upper bound on the number?

Yes there is. After a certain number of retries, the host is considered to be "down" and the sender gives up and tears down the TCP connection.

Is there functionality for the client to indicate to the server to forget about the whole TCP segment for which part went missing when the IP packet went missing?

The whole point is reliable communication. If you wanted the client to forget about some part, you wouldn't be using TCP in the first place. (UDP perhaps?)

The online documentation seems a little unclear, so I just performed a little test. Choosing to break on Thrown from the Exceptions dialog box causes the program execution to break on any exception, handled or unhandled. If you want to break on handled exceptions only, it seems your only recourse is to go through your code and put breakpoints on all your handled exceptions. This seems a little excessive, so it might be better to add a debug statement whenever you handle an exception. Then when you see that output, you can set a breakpoint at that line in the code.

Make sure that this element you would like to control with z-index does not have a parent with z-index property, because element is in a lower stacking context due to its parent’s z-index level.

You will never get a result, it's a simple logic error.

You're asking your database to return a row which has style_id = 24 AND style_id = 25 AND style_id = 26. Since 24 is niether 25 nor 26, you will get no result.

If all you want to do is conditionally show or hide a <div>, then you could declare it as an <asp:panel > (renders to html as a div tag) and set it's .Visible property.

The answer was surprisingly simple. I had to add a Content-Type header in the POST request with a value of application/json. Without this header Jersey did not know what to do with the request body (in spite of the @Consumes(MediaType.APPLICATION_JSON) annotation)!

As I should have remembered from countless books, etc., while one sets these properties using the [assembly: XXXAttribute], they get highjacked by the compiler and placed into the VERSIONINFO resource.

It could very well be the case that people who sign up for your service are entering emails with typing mistakes that you do not correct. For example: chris@gmial.com -or- james@hotnail.com.

I had many users controls but one refused to show in the Toolbox, even though I rebuilt the solution and it was checked in the Choose Items... dialog.

Solution:

1. From Solution Explorer I Right-Clicked the offending user control file and selected Exclude From Project
2. Rebuild the solution
3. Right-Click the user control and select Include in Project (assuming you have the Show All Files enabled in the Solution Explorer)

Note this also requires you have the AutoToolboxPopulate option enabled. As @DaveF answer suggests.

Alternate Solution: I'm not sure if this works, and I couldn't try it since I already resolved my issue, but if you unchecked the user control from the Choose Items... dialog, hit OK, then opened it back up and checked the user control. That might also work.

Consider the following case:

First, o1.compareTo(o2) is called. card1.getSet() == card2.getSet() happens to be true and so is card1.getRarity() < card2.getRarity(), so you return 1.

Then, o2.compareTo(o1) is called. Again, card1.getSet() == card2.getSet() is true. Then, you skip to the following else, then card1.getId() == card2.getId() happens to be true, and so is cardType > item.getCardType(). You return 1 again.

From that, o1 > o2, and o2 > o1. You broke the contract.

I had the issue where after updating the SDK it would only update to version 20 and kept telling me that ANDROID 4.1 (API16) was available and only part of ANDROID 4.2 (API17) was available and there was no update to version 21.

After restarting several times and digging I found (was not obvious to me) going to the SDK Manager and going to FILE -> RELOAD solved the problem. Immediately the other uninstalled parts of API17 were there and I was able to update the SDK. Once updated to 4.2 then I could re-update to version 21 and voila.

On archlinux pip cache is located at ~/.cache/pip, I could solve my issue by removing the http folder inside it.

POCO is simply an object that does not take a dependency on an external framework. It is PLAIN.

Whether a POCO has behaviour or not it's immaterial.

A DTO may be POCO as may a domain object (which would typically be rich in behaviour).

Typically DTOs are more likely to take dependencies on external frameworks (eg. attributes) for serialisation purposes as typically they exit at the boundary of a system.

In typical Onion style architectures (often used within a broadly DDD approach) the domain layer is placed at the centre and so its objects should not, at this point, have dependencies outside of that layer.

If you need more fine-grade control, you can also go the fork pipe exec route. This will allow your application to retrieve the data outputted from the shell script.

In your Fragments onCreateView(...) you can remove a view by calling container.removeView(view);. So if you want to remove the fragment, then view should be the return value of onCreateView,

The best solution is the word-spacing property.

Add the <p> in a container with a specific size (example 300px) and after you have to add that size as the value in the word-spacing.

To answer the question in your subject line,* yes, there are closures in Python, except they only apply inside a function, and also (in Python 2.x) they are read-only; you can't re-bind the name to a different object (though if the object is mutable, you can modify its contents). In Python 3.x, you can use the nonlocal keyword to modify a closure variable.

As of Angular2 RC6, you can set default locale in your app module, by adding a provider:

@NgModule({
  providers: [
    { provide: LOCALE_ID, useValue: "en-US" }, //replace "en-US" with your locale

  ]
})

The Currency/Date/Number pipes should pick up the locale. LOCALE_ID is an OpaqueToken, to be imported from angular/core.

For a more advanced use case, you may want to pick up locale from a service. Locale will be resolved (once) when component using date pipe is created:
