In your controller, render the new action from your create action if validation fails, with an instance variable, @car populated from the user input (i.e., the params hash). Then, in your view, add a logic check (either an if block around the form or a ternary on the helpers, your choice) that automatically sets the value of the form fields to the params values passed in to @car if car exists. That way, the form will be blank on first visit and in theory only be populated on re-render in the case of error. In any case, they will not be populated unless @car is set.

Now with Ruby 2.3 you can use &. operator ('lonely operator') to check for nil at the same time as accessing a value.

I have been using the 3 dots, instead of 2. Three dots gives you a range that is open at the beginning and closed at the end, so if you do 2 queries for subsequent ranges, you can't get the same row back in both.

I know this has been answered for some time, but there are some points that some may want to know about using PYTHONPATH instead of PATH in their environment variable. I have outlined an explanation of running python scripts with cronjobs that deals with the modified environment in a different way (found here). Thought it would be of some good for those who, like me, needed just a bit more than this answer provided.

First of all, there's no such thing as a JSON object. What you've got in your question is a JavaScript object literal (see here for a great discussion on the difference). Here's how you would go about serializing what you've got to JSON though:

I would use an anonymous type filled with your results type:

It can be done using SQL Server Import and Export Wizard. But if you're familiar with SSIS and don't want to run the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard, create an SSIS package that uses the Excel Source and the SQL Server Destination in the data flow.

There are plenty of good answers here about reading it in chunks, I'm just gonna show you a little trick that reads all the content at once to a buffer and prints it.

I'm not saying it's better. It's not, and as Ricardo sometimes it can be bad, but I find it's a nice solution for the simple cases.

The Apache Commons CLI library provides an API for processing command line interfaces.

Many cases can be implemented in both class types.

Interfaces are usefull when you want to define a class that has to have at least basic functions. Like a real interface for example USB.

If you come across a multidimensional array that is pure data, like this one below, then you can use a single call to array_merge() to do the job via reflection:

Just use your regular font family like this:

Sometimes you need to pay attention to howw Eclipse is launched. I ever pinned Eclipse by rigk-click on the excutable and pinning it to taskbar. In this way, the Eclipse is launched to use settings under c:\User\public\public Documents\eclipse" which is not very desirable.

However, if you pin it by creating a short-cut, then it will launch to use settings in the folder of Eclipse installation. Then everything makes much more sense.

Whether something is a "checked exception" has nothing to do with whether you catch it or what you do in the catch block. It's a property of exception classes. Anything that is a subclass of Exception except for RuntimeException and its subclasses is a checked exception.

The Java compiler forces you to either catch checked exceptions or declare them in the method signature. It was supposed to improve program safety, but the majority opinion seems to be that it's not worth the design problems it creates.

Why do they let the exception bubble up? Isnt handle error the sooner the better? Why bubble up?

Because that's the entire point of exceptions. Without this possibility, you would not need exceptions. They enable you to handle errors at a level you choose, rather than forcing you to deal with them in low-level methods where they originally occur.

An approximation of getting all imports for the current module only would be to inspect globals() for modules:

I faced this problem while installing Testlink on Ubuntu server, I followed these steps

1. You need to select from the Persons table to ensure you generate a row for every person, whether they have fears or not.
2. Then you can left join Person_Fear to every person, which will just be NULL if they don't have any entries (as you want).
3. Finally, you left join Fears on Person_Fear so that you can select the name of the fear.

While what I write below is true as a general answer about shared libraries, I think the most frequent cause of these sorts of message is because you've installed a package, but not installed the "-dev" version of that package.

Well, it's not lying - there is no libpthread_rt.so.1 in that listing. You probably need to re-configure and re-build it so that it depends on the library you have, or install whatever provides libpthread_rt.so.1.

Generally, the numbers after the .so are version numbers, and you'll often find that they are symlinks to each other, so if you have version 1.1 of libfoo.so, you'll have a real file libfoo.so.1.0, and symlinks foo.so and foo.so.1 pointing to the libfoo.so.1.0. And if you install version 1.1 without removing the other one, you'll have a libfoo.so.1.1, and libfoo.so.1 and libfoo.so will now point to the new one, but any code that requires that exact version can use the libfoo.so.1.0 file. Code that just relies on the version 1 API, but doesn't care if it's 1.0 or 1.1 will specify libfoo.so.1. As orip pointed out in the comments, this is explained well at http://tldp.org/HOWTO/Program-Library-HOWTO/shared-libraries.html.

In your case, you might get away with symlinking libpthread_rt.so.1 to libpthread_rt.so. No guarantees that it won't break your code and eat your TV dinners, though.

When I had to do some matrix arithmetic I defined a new class to help. Within such a class you can define magic methods like __add__, or, in your use-case, __matmul__, allowing you to define x = a @ b or a @= b rather than matrixMult(a,b). __matmul__ was added in Python 3.5 per PEP 465.

It is Possible to add Multiple Get and Post methods in the same Web API Controller. Here default Route is Causing the Issue. Web API checks for Matching Route from Top to Bottom and Hence Your Default Route Matches for all Requests. As per default route only one Get and Post Method is possible in one controller. Either place the following code on top or Comment Out/Delete Default Route

Get: It is the default HTTP request that is made to the server and is used to retrieve the data from the server and query string that comes after ? in a URI is used to retrieve a unique resource.

Why POST over GET?

In GET the value being sent to the servers are usually appended to the base URL in the query string,now there are 2 consequences of this

• The GET requests are saved in browser history with the parameters. So your passwords remain un-encrypted in browser history. This was a real issue for Facebook back in the days.
• Usually servers have a limit on how long a URI can be. If have too many parameters being sent you might receive 414 Error - URI too long

In case of post request your data from the fields are added to the body instead. Length of request params is calculated, and added to the header for content-length and no important data is directly appended to the URL.

You can use the Google Developer Tools' network section to see basic information about how requests are made to the servers.

and you can always add more values in your Request Headers like Cache-Control , Origin , Accept.

Have in mind that clone() doesn't work out of the box. You will have to implement Cloneable and override the clone() method making in public.

There are a few alternatives, which are preferable (since the clone() method has lots of design issues, as stated in other answers), and the copy-constructor would require manual work:

• BeanUtils.cloneBean(original) creates a shallow clone, like the one created by Object.clone(). (this class is from commons-beanutils)

• SerializationUtils.clone(original) creates a deep clone. (i.e. the whole properties graph is cloned, not only the first level) (from commons-lang), but all classes must implement Serializable

• Java Deep Cloning Library offers deep cloning without the need to implement Serializable

As @CQ says, you need to use HttpUtility.HtmlDecode, but it's not available in a non-ASP .NET project by default.

For a non-ASP .NET application, you need to add a reference to System.Web.dll. Right-click your project in Solution Explorer, select "Add Reference", then browse the list for System.Web.dll.

Now that the reference is added, you should be able to access the method using the fully-qualified name System.Web.HttpUtility.HtmlDecode or insert a using statement for System.Web to make things easier.

From plt.imshow() official guide, we know that aspect controls the aspect ratio of the axes. Well in my words, the aspect is exactly the ratio of x unit and y unit. Most of the time we want to keep it as 1 since we do not want to distort out figures unintentionally. However, there is indeed cases that we need to specify aspect a value other than 1. The questioner provided a good example that x and y axis may have different physical units. Let's assume that x is in km and y in m. Hence for a 10x10 data, the extent should be [0,10km,0,10m] = [0, 10000m, 0, 10m]. In such case, if we continue to use the default aspect=1, the quality of the figure is really bad. We can hence specify aspect = 1000 to optimize our figure. The following codes illustrate this method.

To make a correct figure, we should always bear in mind that x_max-x_min = x_res * data.shape[1] and y_max - y_min = y_res * data.shape[0], where extent = [x_min, x_max, y_min, y_max]. By default, aspect = 1, meaning that the unit pixel is square. This default behavior also works fine for x_res and y_res that have different values. Extending the previous example, let's assume that x_res is 1.5 while y_res is 1. Hence extent should equal to [0,15,0,10]. Using the default aspect, we can have rectangular color pixels, whereas the unit pixel is still square!

The aspect of color pixel is x_res / y_res. setting its aspect to the aspect of unit pixel (i.e. aspect = x_res / y_res = ((x_max - x_min) / data.shape[1]) / ((y_max - y_min) / data.shape[0])) would always give square color pixel. We can change aspect = 1.5 so that x-axis unit is 1.5 times y-axis unit, leading to a square color pixel and square whole figure but rectangular pixel unit. Apparently, it is not normally accepted.

The most undesired case is that set aspect an arbitrary value, like 1.2, which will lead to neither square unit pixels nor square color pixels.

Long story short, it is always enough to set the correct extent and let the matplotlib do the remaining things for us (even though x_res!=y_res)! Change aspect only when it is a must.

To answer the question : if you want to exclude certain files of a checkout, you can use sparse-checkout

1. In .git/info/sparse-checkout, define what you want to keep. Here, we want all (*) but (note the exclamation mark) config.php :

2. Tell git you want to take sparse-checkout into account

   git config core.sparseCheckout true

3. If you already have got this file locally, do what git does on a sparse checkout (tell it it must exclude this file by setting the "skip-worktree" flag on it)

   git update-index --skip-worktree config.php

4. Enjoy a repository where your config.php file is yours - whatever changes are on the repository.

Please note that configuration values SHOULDN'T be in source control :

• It is a potential security breach
• It causes problems like this one for deployment

This means you MUST exclude them (put them in .gitignore before first commit), and create the appropriate file on each instance where you checkout your app (by copying and adapting a "template" file)

Note that, once a file is taken in charge by git, .gitignore won't have any effect.

Given that, once the file is under source control, you only have two choices () :

• rebase all your history to remove the file (with git filter-branch)

• create a commit that removes the file. It is like fighting a loosing battle, but, well, sometimes you have to live with that.

The whole thing should look like:

My personal opinion is to use what makes sense in the context. Personally I almost never use for for array traversal. I use it for other types of iteration, but foreach is just too easy... The time difference is going to be minimal in most cases.

The big thing to watch for is:

for ($i = 0; $i < count($array); $i++) {

That's an expensive loop, since it calls count on every single iteration. So long as you're not doing that, I don't think it really matters...

As for the reference making a difference, PHP uses copy-on-write, so if you don't write to the array, there will be relatively little overhead while looping. However, if you start modifying the array within the array, that's where you'll start seeing differences between them (since one will need to copy the entire array, and the reference can just modify inline)...

As for the iterators, foreach is equivalent to:

This could be a problem if you are using a custom 'Settings.xml', with a different <localRepository> configured in it.

Eclipse will be using the default installation of MAVEN, and will be using the default location for the User to look for the local Maven repository, which on Linux systems would be '/home/${USER}/.m2/'

Eclipse can be easily configured to use the customized 'Settings.xml', by doing the following: Goto -> Window -> Preferences -> Select 'Maven' -> Select 'User Settings'

1. Under 'User Settings', select the custom 'Settings.xml' file, for 'User Settings' by clicking 'Browse' and selecting the customized 'Settings.xml'.
2. Click on 'Update Settings', if the 'Local Repository' Textbox does not show the custom location from the file above, just key in the location and click 'Reindex'.
3. Click 'OK'

After this, you could proceed to select your project from the 'Project Explorer', right click, Select 'Maven' > 'Update Project'. Make sure that your project is selected (ticked) in the Window, and click 'OK'.

This should help to resolve the issue, if using custom 'Settings.xml' for Maven.

I was looking to do the same thing, and I have a work around that seems to be less complicated using the Frequency and Index functions. I use this part of the function from averaging over multiple sheets while excluding the all the 0's.

Just an update on more current OS's (Vista, Win7, etc.) - the temp file path has changed may be different based on several variables. The items below are not definitive, however, they are a few I have encountered:

"temp" environment variable setting - then it would be:

Permissions and what application/process (VS, IIS, IIS Express) is running the .Net compiler. Accessing the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework folders requires elevated permissions and if you are not developing under an account with sufficient permissions then this folder might be used:

c:\Users\[youruserid]\AppData\Local\Temp\Temporary ASP.NET Files

There are also cases where the temp folder can be set via config for a machine or site specific using this:

The issue has been resolved while installation of the maven settings is provided as External in Eclipse. The navigation settings are Window --> Preferences --> Installations. Environment variables (declared with the ENV statement) can also be used in certain instructions as variables to be interpreted by the Dockerfile.

They have to be environment variables in order to be redeclared in each new containers created for each line of the Dockerfile by docker build.

In other words, those variables aren't interpreted directly in a Dockerfile, but in a container created for a Dockerfile line, hence the use of environment variable.

This day, I use both ARG (docker 1.10+, and docker build --build-arg var=value) and ENV.
Using ARG alone means your variable is visible at build time, not at runtime.

Be careful using the answer provide by @DevNG. Arrays.asList() returns internal implementation of ArrayList that doesn't implement some useful methods like add(), delete(), etc. If you call them an UnsupportedOperationException will be thrown. In order to get real ArrayList instance you need to write something like this:

First, all collections in .NET implement IEnumerable.

Second, a lot of the collections are duplicates because generics were added in version 2.0 of the framework.

So, although the generic collections likely add features, for the most part:

• List is a generic implementation of ArrayList.
• Dictionary is a generic implementation of Hashtable

Arrays are a fixed size collection that you can change the value stored at a given index.

SortedDictionary is an IDictionary that is sorted based on the keys. SortedList is an IDictionary that is sorted based on a required IComparer.

So, the IDictionary implementations (those supporting KeyValuePairs) are: * Hashtable * Dictionary * SortedList * SortedDictionary

Another collection that was added in .NET 3.5 is the Hashset. It is a collection that supports set operations.

Also, the LinkedList is a standard linked-list implementation (the List is an array-list for faster retrieval).

We found the "Accept-Ranges" as being the best bet to map the pagination ranging: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7233#section-2.3 As the "Range Units" may either be "bytes" or "token". Both do not represent a custom data type. (see: https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7233#section-4.2) Still, it is stated that

HTTP/1.1 implementations MAY ignore ranges specified using other units.

Which indicates: using custom Range Units is not against the protocol, but it MAY be ignored.

This way, we would have to set the Accept-Ranges to "members" or whatever ranged unit type, we'd expect. And in addition, also set the Content-Range to the current range. (see: https://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec3.html#sec3.12)

Either way, I would stick to the recommendation of RFC7233 (https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7233#page-8) to send a 206 instead of 200:

In case you add a new login, make sure that under server properties ( rightclick -> properties)/security, authentication mode is set to both sqlserver and windows not only windows.

In C, the compiler can generally optimize them to be the same if the result is unused.

However, in C++ if using other types that provide their own ++ operators, the prefix version is likely to be faster than the postfix version. So, if you don't need the postfix semantics, it is better to use the prefix operator.

This jsPerf test suggests that find() is faster. I created a more thorough test, and it still looks as though find() outperforms children().

Update: As per tvanfosson's comment, I created another test case with 16 levels of nesting. find() is only slower when finding all possible divs, but find() still outperforms children() when selecting the first level of divs.

children() begins to outperform find() when there are over 100 levels of nesting and around 4000+ divs for find() to traverse. It's a rudimentary test case, but I still think that find() is faster than children() in most cases.

I stepped through the jQuery code in Chrome Developer Tools and noticed that children() internally makes calls to sibling(), filter(), and goes through a few more regexes than find() does.

find() and children() fulfill different needs, but in the cases where find() and children() would output the same result, I would recommend using find().

If working on EJB client library:

You need to mention the argument for getting the initial context.

The EJB client library is the primary library to invoke remote EJB components.
This library can be used through the InitialContext. To invoke EJB components the library creates an EJB client context via a URL context factory. The only necessary configuration is to parse the value org.jboss.ejb.client.naming for the java.naming.factory.url.pkgs property to instantiate an InitialContext.

This will not be applicable if you set image as background in ImageView, need to set at src(android:src).

On Windows,Close all the SQL Developer windows. Then You need to completely delete the SQL Developer and sqldeveloper folders located in user/AppData/Roaming. Finally, run the program, you will be prompted for new JDK.

So, I would like to explain the scenario where I had to make use of this solution. Basically, I wanted to undo the background-color attribute set by another CSS. The expected end result was to make it look as though the original CSS had never applied the background-color attribute . Setting background-color:transparent; made that effective.

NGINX itself may not be the root cause.

IF "minimum ports per VM instance" set on the NAT Gateway -- which stand between your NGINX instance & the proxy_pass destination -- is too small for the number of concurrent requests, it has to be increased.

Solution: Increase the available number of ports per VM on NAT Gateway.

Context In my case, on Google Cloud, a reverse proxy NGINX was placed inside a subnet, with a NAT Gateway. The NGINX instance was redirecting requests to a domain associated with our backend API (upstream) through the NAT Gateway.

Let us see the difference between the two HTTP authentication using Wireshark (Tool to analyse packets sent or received) .

1. Http Basic Authentication

As soon as the client types in the correct username:password,as requested by the Web-server, the Web-Server checks in the Database if the credentials are correct and gives the access to the resource .

Here is how the packets are sent and received :

In the first packet the Client fill the credentials using the POST method at the resource - lab/webapp/basicauth .In return the server replies back with http response code 200 ok ,i.e, the username:password were correct .

Now , In the Authorization header it shows that it is Basic Authorization followed by some random string .This String is the encoded (Base64) version of the credentials admin:aadd (including colon ) .

2 . Http Digest Authentication(rfc 2069)

So far we have seen that the Basic Authentication sends username:password in plaintext over the network .But the Digest Auth sends a HASH of the Password using Hash algorithm.

Here are packets showing the requests made by the client and response from the server .

As soon as the client types the credentials requested by the server , the Password is converted to a response using an algorithm and then is sent to the server , If the server Database has same response as given by the client the server gives the access to the resource , otherwise a 401 error .

In the above Authorization , the response string is calculated using the values of Username,Realm,Password,http-method,URI and Nonce as shown in the image :

Hence , we can see that the Digest Authentication is more Secure as it involve Hashing (MD5 encryption) , So the packet sniffer tools cannot sniff the Password although in Basic Auth the exact Password was shown on Wireshark.

Because this shows up when you google ajax status 0 I wanted to leave some tip that just took me hours of wasted time... I was using ajax to call a PHP service which happened to be Phil's REST_Controller for Codeigniter (not sure if this has anything to do with it or not) and kept getting status 0, readystate 0 and it was driving me nuts. I was debugging it and noticed when I would echo and return instead of exit the message I'd get a success. Finally I turned debugging off and tried and it worked. Seems the xDebug debugger with PHP was somehow modifying the response. If your using a PHP debugger try turning it off to see if that helps.

Should work well in most cases since it removes punctuation while preserving tokens like "n't", which can't be obtained from regex tokenizers such as wordpunct_tokenize.

Generally speaking, fixed section should be set with width, height and top, bottom properties, otherwise it won't recognise its size and position.

If the used box is direct child for body and has neighbours, then it makes sense to check z-index and top, left properties, since they could overlap each other, which might affect your mouse hover while scrolling the content.

Here is the solution for a content box (a direct child of body tag) which is commonly used along with mobile navigation.
