The short answer is adb is used via command line. find adb.exe on your machine, add it to the path and use it from cmd on windows.

"adb devices" will give you a list of devices adb can talk to. your emulation platform should be on the list. just type adb to get a list of commands and what they do.

You need to update the output of json.load with a_dict and then dump the result. And you cannot append to the file but you need to overwrite it.

Declaring Tablet Layouts for Android 3.2

For the first generation of tablets running Android 3.0, the proper way to declare tablet layouts was to put them in a directory with the xlarge configuration qualifier (for example, res/layout-xlarge/). In order to accommodate other types of tablets and screen sizes—in particular, 7" tablets—Android 3.2 introduces a new way to specify resources for more discrete screen sizes. The new technique is based on the amount of space your layout needs (such as 600dp of width), rather than trying to make your layout fit the generalized size groups (such as large or xlarge).

The reason designing for 7" tablets is tricky when using the generalized size groups is that a 7" tablet is technically in the same group as a 5" handset (the large group). While these two devices are seemingly close to each other in size, the amount of space for an application's UI is significantly different, as is the style of user interaction. Thus, a 7" and 5" screen should not always use the same layout. To make it possible for you to provide different layouts for these two kinds of screens, Android now allows you to specify your layout resources based on the width and/or height that's actually available for your application's layout, specified in dp units.

This threshold thus becomes the minimum size that you require for your tablet layout. You should either pick a width and design to it as your minimum size, or test what is the smallest width your layout supports once it's complete.

Note: Remember that all the figures used with these new size APIs are density-independent pixel (dp) values and your layout dimensions should also always be defined using dp units, because what you care about is the amount of screen space available after the system accounts for screen density (as opposed to using raw pixel resolution). The different resource configurations that you can specify based on the space available for your layout are summarized in table 2. When you design your UI, the main thing you probably care about is the actual size at which your application switches between a handset-style UI and a tablet-style UI that uses multiple panes. The exact point of this switch will depend on your particular design—maybe you need a 720dp width for your tablet layout, maybe 600dp is enough, or 480dp, or some number between these. Using these qualifiers in table 2, you are in control of the precise size at which your layout changes.

To help you target some of your designs for different types of devices, here are some numbers for typical screen widths:

320dp: a typical phone screen (240x320 ldpi, 320x480 mdpi, 480x800 hdpi, etc).
480dp: a tweener tablet like the Streak (480x800 mdpi).
600dp: a 7” tablet (600x1024 mdpi).
720dp: a 10” tablet (720x1280 mdpi, 800x1280 mdpi, etc).

Using the size qualifiers from table 2, your application can switch between your different layout resources for handsets and tablets using any number you want for width and/or height. For example, if 600dp is the smallest available width supported by your tablet layout, you can provide these two sets of layouts:

However, in some cases, what might be important for your layout is exactly how much width or height is currently available. For example, if you have a two-pane layout with two fragments side by side, you might want to use it whenever the screen provides at least 600dp of width, whether the device is in landscape or portrait orientation. In this case, your resources might look like this:

in my case I was using AWS SES and I had to verify both "FromEmail" and "Recipient". Once done that I could send without problems.

It sounds like what you want is for the output of the SQL statement to list every employee in the company, but first all the people in the Anaheim office, then the people in the Buffalo office, then the people in the Cleveland office (A, B, C, get it, obviously I don't know what locations you have).

In that case, lose the GROUP BY statement. All you need is ORDER BY loc.LocationID

Do not forget to clear the cache after updating the external_url param in /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb, otherwise your existing project clone URLs will still be showing your old host name.

A simple 3 step process to change the hostname is as follows

Recent versions of Mercurial include the evolve extension which provides the hg amend command. This allows amending a commit without losing the pre-amend history in your version control.

I was trying something similar to ensure the -ggdb flag was present.

Call make in a clean directory and grep the flag you are looking for. Looking for debug rather than ggdb I would just write.

make VERBOSE=1 | grep debug

The -ggdb flag was obscure enough that only the compile commands popped up.

HTTP VS HTTPS PERFORMANCE COMPARISON

I have always associated HTTPS with slower page load times when compared to plain old HTTP. As a web developer, web page performance is important to me and anything that will slow down the performance of my web pages is a no-no.

In order to understand the performance implications involved, the diagram below gives you a basic idea of what happens under the hood when you make a request for a resource using HTTPS.

As you can see from the diagram above, there are a few extra steps that need to take place when using HTTPS compared to using plain HTTP. When you make a request using HTTPS, a handshake needs to occur in order to verify the authenticity of the request. This handshake is an extra step when compared to an HTTP request and does unfortunately incur some overhead.

In order to understand the performance implications and see for myself whether or not the performance impact would be significant, I used this site as a testing platform. I headed over to webpagetest.org and used the visual comparison tool to compare this site loading using HTTPS vs HTTP.

As you can see from Here is Test video Result using HTTPS did have an impact on my page load times, however the difference is negligible and I only noticed a 300 millisecond difference. It's important to note that these times depend on many factors, such as computer performance, connection speed, server load, and distance from server.

Your site may be different, and it is important to test your site thoroughly and check the performance impact involved in switching to HTTPS.

I got this exception while coping a object(variable) Matrix Array into Excel sheet. The solution to this is, Matrix array Index(i,j) must start from (0,0) whereas Excel sheet should start with Matrix Array index (i,j) from (1,1) .

in undergrad, we used NERO (a combination of neural network and genetic algorithm) to teach in-game robots to make intelligent decisions. It was pretty cool.

On Red Hat Linux I got this issue resolved by importing the certificates to /etc/pki/java/cacerts.

The CBO builds a decision tree, estimating the costs of each possible execution path available per query. The costs are set by the CPU_cost or I/O_cost parameter set on the instance. And the CBO estimates the costs, as best it can with the existing statistics of the tables and indexes that the query will use. You should not tune your query based on cost alone. Cost allows you to understand WHY the optimizer is doing what it does. Without cost you could figure out why the optimizer chose the plan it did. Lower cost does not mean a faster query. There are cases where this is true and there will be cases where this is wrong. Cost is based on your table stats and if they are wrong the cost is going to be wrong.

When tuning your query, you should take a look at the cardinality and the number of rows of each step. Do they make sense? Is the cardinality the optimizer is assuming correct? Is the rows being return reasonable. If the information present is wrong then its very likely the optimizer doesn't have the proper information it needs to make the right decision. This could be due to stale or missing statistics on the table and index as well as cpu-stats. Its best to have stats updated when tuning a query to get the most out of the optimizer. Knowing your schema is also of great help when tuning. Knowing when the optimizer chose a really bad decision and pointing it in the correct path with a small hint can save a load of time.

@bdiamante's answer may only partially help you. If you still get a message after you've suppressed warnings, it's because the pandas library itself is printing the message. There's not much you can do about it unless you edit the Pandas source code yourself. Maybe there's an option internally to suppress them, or a way to override things, but I couldn't find one.

In the standard library sense, these aren't true warnings. Pandas implements its own warnings system. Running grep -rn on the warning messages shows that the pandas warning system is implemented in core/config_init.py:

The hack is recursive. It is like IE itself uses the component that is used by many other processes which want "web component". Hence in registry we add IEXPLORE.exe. In effect it is a recursive hack.

My preference is to encode all non-alphaumeric characters as HTML numeric character entities. Since almost, if not all attacks require non-alphuneric characters (like <, ", etc) this should eliminate a large chunk of dangerous output.

Format is &#N;, where N is the numeric value of the character (you can just cast the character to an int and concatenate with a string to get a decimal value). For example:

It seems like your problem may be arising at

where it might go into an infinite loop for not advancing the offset (which is 0 always in the call). Try

You basically remove duplicates by converting to set (clean_list), then iterate the raw_list, while removing each item in the clean list for occurrence in raw_list. If item is not found, the raised ValueError Exception is caught and the item is added to duplicated_items list.

If the index of duplicated items is needed, just enumerate the list and play around with the index. (for index, item in enumerate(raw_list):) which is faster and optimised for large lists (like thousands+ of elements)

If the web service being invoked uses windows integrated security, creating a NetworkCredential from the current WindowsIdentity should be sufficient to allow the web service to use the current users windows login. However, if the web service uses a different security model, there isn't any way to extract a users password from the current identity ... that in and of itself would be insecure, allowing you, the developer, to steal your users passwords. You will likely need to provide some way for your user to provide their password, and keep it in some secure cache if you don't want them to have to repeatedly provide it.

When you perform a boolean comparison between two vectors in R, the "expectation" is that both vectors are of the same length, so that R can compare each corresponding element in turn.

R has a much loved (or hated) feature called recycling, whereby in many circumstances if you try to do something where R would normally expect objects to be of the same length, it will automatically extend, or recycle, the shorter object to force both objects to be of the same length.

If the longer object is a multiple of the shorter, this amounts to simply repeating the shorter object several times. Oftentimes R programmers will take advantage of this to do things more compactly and with less typing.

But if they are not multiples, R will worry that you may have made a mistake, and perhaps didn't mean to perform that comparison, hence the warning.

Back in 2010 we had the same problem and i successfully employed GoogleDocs with our small Agile Development team (8 Devs in 3 Countries).

GoogleDrawing will serve in the exact same way as a physical Scrum board would, with all the upsides of full flexibilty and also the downsides of zero automation but with the big additional upside of being virtual and accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.

It also was used for the retrospective at the end of each Sprint

GoogleSpreadsheet was used for a concise list of all the tickets from our bug tracking system (Redmine, manually transfered) and also for the (manually updated, albeit with formulas to calculate the progress) burndown chart.

The combination of these different elements is actually quite powerful, as you have the full flexibility over the content and its representation and can have your team communicate via VoIP while all are looking at the same documents and can modify them in real-time.

Here an example of the docs used in a sprint (all sensitive data removed):

The accepted answer works great if you just want to use a different context in your partial. However, it doesn't let you reference any of the parent context. To pass in multiple arguments, you need to write your own helper. Here's a working helper for Handlebars 2.0.0 (the other answer works for versions <2.0.0):

Check that the USB cable is indeed capable of transferring data. Some cheaper ones, especially those meant to charge non-phone/computer devices, might only support charging.

An alternative is to use OFFSET:

Assuming the column value is stored in B1, you can use the following

C1 = OFFSET(A1, 0, B1 - 1)

This works by:

a) taking a base cell (A1)
b) adding 0 to the row (keeping it as A)
c) adding (A5 - 1) to the column

You can also use another value instead of 0 if you want to change the row value too.

If the forked repo is protected so you can't push directly into it, and your goal is to make changes to their foo, then you need to get their branch foo into your repo like so:

I have been having the same problem. VB6 Win7 64 bit and have come across a very simple solution, so I figured it would be a good idea to share it here in case it helps anyone else.

First I have tried the following with no success:

• unregistered and re-registering MSCOMCTL, MSCOMCTL2 and the barcode active X controls in every directory I could think of trying (VB98, system 32, sysWOW64, project folder.)

• Deleting working folder and getting everything again. (through source safe)

• Copying the OCX files from a machine with no problems and registering those.

• Installing service pack 6

• Installing MZ tools - it was worth a try

• Installing the distributable version of the project.

• Manually editing the vbp file (after making it writeable) to amend/remove the references and generally fiddling.

• Un-Installing VB6 and re-Installing (this I thought was a last resort) The problem was occurring on a new project and not just existing ones.

NONE of the above worked but the following did

        Tick the following:

A char is an integral type. When you write

char ch = 'A';

you're setting the value of ch to whatever number your compiler uses to represent the character 'A'. That's usually the ASCII code for 'A' these days, but that's not required. You're almost certainly using a system that uses ASCII.

Like any numeric type, you can initialize it with an ordinary number:

char ch = 13;

If you want do do arithmetic on a char value, just do it: ch = ch + 1; etc.

However, in order to display the value you have to get around the assumption in the iostreams library that you want to display char values as characters rather than numbers. There are a couple of ways to do that.

On a personal level, I like more the philosophy and openness of MeanJS and more the traction and modules/packages approach of MeanIO. Both are nice, and you'll end probably modifying them, so you can't really go wrong picking one or the other. Just take them as starting point and as a learning exercise.

ALTERNATIVE “MEAN” SOLUTIONS

MEAN is a generic way (coined by Valeri Karpov) to describe a boilerplate/framework that takes "Mongo + Express + Angular + Node" as the base of the stack. You can find frameworks with this stack that use other denomination, some of them really good for RAD (Rapid Application Development) and building SPAs. Eg:

• Meteor. Now with official Angular support, represents a great MEAN stack
• StrongLoop Loopback (main Node.js core contributors and Express maintainers)
• Generator Angular Fullstack
• Sails.js
• Cleverstack
• Deployd, etc (there are more)

You also have Hackathon Starter. It doesn't have A of MEAN (it is 'MEN'), but it rocks..

If you want to host multiple websites in a single server in different ports then, method mentioned by MRVDOG won't work. Because browser won't resolve SRV records and will always hit :80 port. For example if your requirement is:

Also, it is a bit late now, but in the future please consider writing unit tests before or during the project itself. "Unexpected end of file" implies that the remote server accepted and closed the connection without sending a response. It's possible that the remote system is too busy to handle the request, or that there's a network bug that randomly drops connections.

It's also possible there is a bug in the server: something in the request causes an internal error, and the server simply closes the connection instead of sending a HTTP error response like it should. Several people suggest this is caused by missing headers or invalid header values in the request.

With the information available it's impossible to say what's going wrong. If you have access to the servers in question you can use packet sniffing tools to find what exactly is sent and received, and look at logs to of the server process to see if there are any error messages.

Already answered above, but here's another approach you could take. I can't find the original post I adapted this from, but here's the code for the sake of your question. As noted above, the flatMap() function is what you'd be looking to utilize with Java 8. You can throw it in a utility class and just call "RandomUtils.combine(list1, list2, ...);" and you'd get a single List with all values. Just be careful with the wildcard - you could change this if you want a less generic method. You can also modify it for Sets - you just have to take care when using flatMap() on Sets to avoid data loss from equals/hashCode methods due to the nature of the Set interface.

Edit - If you use a generic method like this for the Set interface, and you happen to use Lombok, make sure you understand how Lombok handles equals/hashCode generation.

• implode() is explode's counterpart, to go from array back to string.

jQuery: you think a lot about 'QUERYing the DOM' for DOM elements and doing something.

AngularJS: THE model is the truth, and you always think from that ANGLE.

For example, when you get data from THE server which you intend to display in some format in the DOM, in jQuery, you need to '1. FIND' where in the DOM you want to place this data, the '2. UPDATE/APPEND' it there by creating a new node or just setting its innerHTML. Then when you want to update this view, you then '3. FIND' the location and '4. UPDATE'. This cycle of find and update all done within the same context of getting and formatting data from server is gone in AngularJS.

With AngularJS you have your model (JavaScript objects you are already used to) and the value of the model tells you about the model (obviously) and about the view, and an operation on the model automatically propagates to the view, so you don't have to think about it. You will find yourself in AngularJS no longer finding things in the DOM.

To put in another way, in jQuery, you need to think about CSS selectors, that is, where is the div or td that has a class or attribute, etc., so that I can get their HTML or color or value, but in AngularJS, you will find yourself thinking like this: what model am I dealing with, I will set the model's value to true. You are not bothering yourself of whether the view reflecting this value is a checked box or resides in a td element (details you would have often needed to think about in jQuery).

And with DOM manipulation in AngularJS, you find yourself adding directives and filters, which you can think of as valid HTML extensions.

One more thing you will experience in AngularJS: in jQuery you call the jQuery functions a lot, in AngularJS, AngularJS will call your functions, so AngularJS will 'tell you how to do things', but the benefits are worth it, so learning AngularJS usually means learning what AngularJS wants or the way AngularJS requires that you present your functions and it will call it accordingly. This is one of the things that makes AngularJS a framework rather than a library.

All of these answers are simple and good. However, I always like to add an interactive mode to these scripts so that I can find false positives.

You don't really have to do any registering as such. I've seen many programs, like emule, create their own protocol specificier (that's what I think it's called). After that, you basically just have to set some values in the registry as to what program handles that protocol. I'm not sure if there's any official registry of protocol specifiers. There isn't really much to stop you from creating your own protocol specifier for your own application if you want people to open your app from their browser.

If your intention was to find a way to represent null in an enumeration of singleton objects, then it's a bad idea to (de)reference null (it C++11, nullptr).

Why not declare static singleton object that represents NULL within the class as follows and add a cast-to-pointer operator that returns nullptr ?

As others have said, it's a habit learned from C to avoid typos - although even in C I'd expect decent compilers at high enough warning levels to give a warning. As Chandru says, comparing against null in Java in this way would only cause problems if you were using a variable of type Boolean (which you're not in the sample code). I'd say that's a pretty rare situation, and not one for which it's worth changing the way you write code everywhere else. (I wouldn't bother reversing the operands even in this case; if I'm thinking clearly enough to consider reversing them, I'm sure I can count the equals signs.)

What hasn't been mentioned is that many people (myself certainly included) find the if (variable == constant) form to be more readable - it's a more natural way of expressing yourself. This is a reason not to blindly copy a convention from C. You should always question practices (as you're doing here :) before assuming that what may be useful in one environment is useful in another.

In addition to the accepted answer I would like to give an answer that shows how to iterate directly over the Newtonsoft collections. It uses less code and I'm guessing its more efficient as it doesn't involve converting the collections.

I started doing this myself because JsonConvert automatically deserializes nested objects as JToken (which are JObject, JValue, or JArray underneath I think).

I think the parsing works according to the following principles:

• Every object is abstracted as a JToken

• Cast to JObject where you expect a Dictionary

• Cast to JValue if the JToken represents a terminal node and is a value

• Cast to JArray if its an array

• JValue.Value gives you the .NET type you need

If you don't mention the random_state in the code, then whenever you execute your code a new random value is generated and the train and test datasets would have different values each time.

However, if you use a particular value for random_state(random_state = 1 or any other value) everytime the result will be same,i.e, same values in train and test datasets.

I had the same problem. My solution was to do the login via Chrome and save the cookies data to a text file. This is easily done with this Chrome extension: Chrome cookie.txt export extension.

I realize this question is a bit dated and since it shows up on Google search for similar issue I thought I will expand a little bit more on top of @CowWarrior's answer. I was looking for somewhat similar solution, and after scouring through countless SO question/answers and Bootstrap documentations the solution was pretty simple. Again, this would be using inbuilt Bootstrap collapse class to show/hide divs and Bootstrap's "Collapse Event".

What I realized is that it is easy to do it using a Bootstrap Accordion, but most of the time even though the functionality required is "somewhat" similar to an Accordion, it's different in a way that one would want to show hide <div> based on, lets say, menu buttons on a navbar. Below is a simple solution to this. The anchor tags (<a>) could be navbar items and based on a collapse event the corresponding div will replace the existing div. It looks slightly sloppy in CodeSnippet, but it is pretty close to achieving the functionality-

All that the JavaScript does is makes all the other <div> hide using

To my knowledge, Ejabberd (http://www.ejabberd.im/) is the parent, this is XMPP server which provide quite good features of open source, Whatsapp uses some modified version of this, facebook messaging also uses a modified version of this. Some more chat applications likes Samsung's ChatOn, Nimbuzz messenger all use ejabberd based ones and Erlang solutions also have modified version of this ejabberd which they claim to be highly scalable and well tested with more performance improvements and renamed as MongooseIM.

Ejabberd is the server which has most of the featured implemented when compared to other. Since it is build in Erlang it is highly scalable horizontally.

I believe they just want to be clear that module.exports, exports, and nano point to the same function - allowing you to use either variable to call the function within the file. nano provides some context to what the function does.

exports won't be exported (only module.exports will), so why bother overwriting that as well?

The verbosity trade-off limits the risk of future bugs, such as using exports instead of module.exports within the file. It also provides clarification that module.exports and exports are in fact pointing to the same value.

module.exports vs exports

As long as you don't reassign module.exports or exports (and instead add values to the object they both refer to), you won't have any issues and can safely use exports to be more concise.

When assigning either to a non-object, they are now pointing to different places which can be confusing unless you intentionally want module.exports to be something specific (such as a function).

Setting exports to a non-object doesn't make much sense as you'll have to set module.exports = exports at the end to be able to use it in other files.

Everything that is business logic belongs in a model, whether it is a database query, calculations, a REST call, etc.

You can have the data access in the model itself, the MVC pattern doesn't restrict you from doing that. You can sugar coat it with services, mappers and what not, but the actual definition of a model is a layer that handles business logic, nothing more, nothing less. It can be a class, a function, or a complete module with a gazillion objects if that's what you want.

It's always easier to have a separate object that actually executes the database queries instead of having them being executed in the model directly: this will especially come in handy when unit testing (because of the easiness of injecting a mock database dependency in your model):

Also, in PHP, you rarely need to catch/rethrow exceptions because the backtrace is preserved, especially in a case like your example. Just let the exception be thrown and catch it in the controller instead.

You can't do this with jQuery, visible="false" in asp.net means the control isn't rendered into the page. If you want the control to go to the client, you need to do style="display: none;" so it's actually in the HTML, otherwise there's literally nothing for the client to show, since the element wasn't in the HTML your server sent.

If you remove the visible attribute and add the style attribute you can then use jQuery to show it, like this:

In my case i had to execute a command to drop all connections including my active administrator connection

I use a way that may look stupid but it works for me. I simply concat the columns I want to compare and use NOT IN:

Good Semantics is important in programming.

Utilizing more methods besides GET/POST will be helpful because it will increase the readability of your code and make it easier to maintain.

Why?

Because you know GET will retrieve data from your api. You know POST will add new data to your system. You know PUT will make updates. DELETE will delete rows etc, etc,

I normally structure my RESTFUL Web Services so that I have a function callback named the same thing as the method.

I use PHP, so I use function_exists (I think its called). If the function doesn't exist, I throw a 405 (METHOD NOT ALLOWED).

As Nikola pointed out in the comment below, in case the backup URL is invalid as well, some browsers will trigger the "error" event again which will result in an infinite loop. We can guard against this by simply nullifying the "error" handler via this.onerror=null;.

WebSockets is definitely the future.

Long polling is a dirty workaround to prevent creating connections for each request like AJAX does -- but long polling was created when WebSockets didn't exist. Now due to WebSockets, long polling is going away.

WebRTC allows for peer-to-peer communication.

I recommend learning WebSockets.

Advantages:

The main advantage of WebSockets server-side, is that it is not an HTTP request (after handshake), but a proper message based communication protocol. This enables you to achieve huge performance and architecture advantages. For example, in node.js, you can share the same memory for different socket connections, so they can each access shared variables. Therefore, you don't need to use a database as an exchange point in the middle (like with AJAX or Long Polling with a language like PHP). You can store data in RAM, or even republish between sockets straight away.

Security considerations

People are often concerned about the security of WebSockets. The reality is that it makes little difference or even puts WebSockets as better option. First of all, with AJAX, there is a higher chance of MITM, as each request is a new TCP connection that is traversing through internet infrastructure. With WebSockets, once it's connected it is far more challenging to intercept in between, with additionally enforced frame masking when data is streamed from client to server as well as additional compression, which requires more effort to probe data. All modern protocols support both: HTTP and HTTPS (encrypted).

P.S.

Remember that WebSockets generally have a very different approach of logic for networking, more like real-time games had all this time, and not like http.

DO NOT sum the rounded numbers. You're going to have inaccurate results. The total could be off significantly depending on the number of terms and the distribution of fractional parts.

Display the rounded numbers but sum the actual values. Depending on how you're presenting the numbers, the actual way to do that would vary. That way you get

You need to choose between one of the following:

1. Accuracy of the items
2. Accuracy of the sum (if you're summing rounded values)
3. Consistency between the rounded items and the rounded sum)

Most of the time when dealing with percentages #3 is the best option because it's more obvious when the total equals 101% than when the individual items don't total to 100, and you keep the individual items accurate. "Rounding" 9.596 to 9 is inaccurate in my opinion.

To explain this I sometimes add a footnote that explains that the individual values are rounded and may not total 100% - anyone that understands rounding should be able to understand that explanation.

If you are trying to set default value as NOW(), I don't think MySQL supports that. In MySQL, you cannot use a function or an expression as the default value for any type of column, except for the TIMESTAMP data type column, for which you can specify the CURRENT_TIMESTAMP as the default.

The error message tells the exact reason: "abstract methods cannot have a body".

They can only be defined in abstract classes and interfaces (interface methods are implicitly abstract!) and the idea is, that the subclass implements the method.

So as far as I can tell, the answer is yes, but only in python 3.0+
