Your problem is not actually specific to ejs.

2 things to note here

  1. style.css is an external css file. So you dont need style tags inside that file. It should only contain the css.

  2. In your express app, you have to mention the public directory from which you are serving the static files. Like css/js/image

it can be done by

app.use(express.static(__dirname + '/public'));

assuming you put the css files in public folder from in your app root. now you have to refer to the css files in your tamplate files, like

Here i assume you have put the css file in css folder inside your public folder.

How to redirect to another page in node.js

@Nazar Medeiros - Your solution uses passport with Express. I am not using passport, just express-jwt. I might be doing something wrong, but when a user logs in, the token needs to return to the client side. From what I have found so far, this means we have to return a json with the token and therefor cannot call redirect. Is there something I am missing there?

To get around this, I simply return the token, store it in my cookies and then make a ajax GET request (with the valid token). When that ajax call returns I replace the body's html with the returned HTML. This is probably not the right way to do it, but I can't find a better way. Here is my JQuery JavaScript code.

  1. On your terminal or cmd -> Go to your apps directory,
  2. cd pathtoyourapp/AppName
  3. rerun your 'npm install'

after that, the error was fixed.

He also links to a generator that will translate the fonts into all the formats you need.

As others have already specified, this will only work in the latest generation of browsers. Your best bet is to use this in conjunction with something like Cufon, and only load Cufon if the browser doesn't support @font-face.

where /T 10 is the number of seconds to delay. Note the syntax can vary depending on your Windows version, so use CHOICE /? to be sure.

Aloha from 2018. Unfortunately, I don't have anything cool or futuristic to share with you.

I did however want to point out to those who have commented that the jQuery load() method isn't working in the present are probably trying to use the method with local files without running a local web server. Doing so will throw the above mentioned "cross origin" error, which specifies that cross origin requests such as that made by the load method are only supported for protocol schemes like http, data, or https. (I'm assuming that you're not making an actual cross-origin request, i.e the header.html file is actually on the same domain as the page you're requesting it from)

So, if the accepted answer above isn't working for you, please make sure you're running a web server. The quickest and simplest way to do that if you're in a rush (and using a Mac, which has Python pre-installed) would be to spin up a simple Python http server. You can see how easy it is to do that here.

Passing a method parameter using Task.Factory.StartNew

The best option is probably to use a lambda expression that closes over the variables you want to display.

However, be careful in this case, especially if you're calling this in a loop. (I mention this since your variable is an "ID", and this is common in this situation.) If you close over the variable in the wrong scope, you can get a bug. For details, see Eric Lippert's post on the subject. This typically requires making a temporary:

It's typically geared for a single, long running task (hence its name), not something that would be implemented to work on an item of a collection, etc.

String.Format alternative in C++

The C++ way would be to use a std::stringstream object as:

The C way would be to use sprintf.

The C way is difficult to get right since:

  • It is type unsafe
  • Requires buffer management

Of course, you may want to fall back on the C way if performance is an issue (imagine you are creating fixed-size million little stringstream objects and then throwing them away).

Using Ansible set_fact to create a dictionary from register results

I think I got there in the end.

The task is like this:

I then realised I actually wanted a list of dictionaries, as it seems much easier to loop through using with_items:

Unless there is an overwhelming need to create a mess of variable names, I would just use a dictionary, where you can dynamically create the key names and associate a value to each.

No, Java doesn't support user-defined operator overloading. The only aspect of Java which comes close to "custom" operator overloading is the handling of + for strings, which either results in compile-time concatenation of constants or execution-time concatenation using StringBuilder/StringBuffer. You can't define your own operators which act in the same way though.

For a Java-like (and JVM-based) language which does support operator overloading, you could look at Kotlin or Groovy. Alternatively, you might find luck with a Java compiler plugin solution.

On src, you can always specify files to ignore using "!".

Example (you want to exclude all *.min.js files on your js folder and subfolder:

Insert the same fixed value into multiple rows

You're looking for UPDATE not insert.

UPDATE mytable
SET    table_column = 'test';

UPDATE will change the values of existing rows (and can include a WHERE to make it only affect specific rows), whereas INSERT is adding a new row (which makes it look like it changed only the last row, but in effect is adding a new row with that value).

Psql could not connect to server: No such file or directory, 5432 error?

I had the same issue but non of the answers here helped.

How I fixed it (mac)

  • Try to start postgresql with pg_ctl -D /usr/local/var/postgres start
  • Look for the Error Message that says something like FATAL: could not open directory "pg_tblspc": No such file or directory.
  • Create that missing directory mkdir /usr/local/var/postgres/pg_tblspc
  • Repeat from step one until you created all missing directories
  • When done and then trying to start postgresql again it might say FATAL: lock file "postmaster.pid" already exists
  • Delete postmaster.pid: rm /usr/local/var/postgres/postmaster.pid
  • Start postgres with: pg_ctl -D /usr/local/var/postgres start
  • Done ?

Console output in a Qt GUI app?

Windows does not really support dual mode applications.

To see console output you need to create a console application

CONFIG += console

However, if you double click on the program to start the GUI mode version then you will get a console window appearing, which is probably not what you want. To prevent the console window appearing you have to create a GUI mode application in which case you get no output in the console.

One idea may be to create a second small application which is a console application and provides the output. This can call the second one to do the work.

Or you could put all the functionality in a DLL then create two versions of the .exe file which have very simple main functions which call into the DLL. One is for the GUI and one is for the console.

What are the differences and similarities between ffmpeg, libav, and avconv?

Confusing messages

These messages are rather misleading and understandably a source of confusion. Older Ubuntu versions used Libav which is a fork of the FFmpeg project. FFmpeg returned in Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet".

The fork was basically a non-amicable result of conflicting personalities and development styles within the FFmpeg community. It is worth noting that the maintainer for Debian/Ubuntu switched from FFmpeg to Libav on his own accord due to being involved with the Libav fork.

The real ffmpeg vs the fake one

For a while both Libav and FFmpeg separately developed their own version of ffmpeg.

Libav then renamed their bizarro ffmpeg to avconv to distance themselves from the FFmpeg project. During the transition period the "not developed anymore" message was displayed to tell users to start using avconv instead of their counterfeit version of ffmpeg. This confused users into thinking that FFmpeg (the project) is dead, which is not true. A bad choice of words, but I can't imagine Libav not expecting such a response by general users.

This message was removed upstream when the fake "ffmpeg" was finally removed from the Libav source, but, depending on your version, it can still show up in Ubuntu because the Libav source Ubuntu uses is from the ffmpeg-to-avconv transition period.

In June 2012, the message was re-worded for the package libav - 4:0.8.3-0ubuntu0.12.04.1. Unfortunately the new "deprecated" message has caused additional user confusion.

Starting with Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet", FFmpeg's ffmpeg is back in the repositories again.

libav vs Libav

To further complicate matters, Libav chose a name that was historically used by FFmpeg to refer to its libraries (libavcodec, libavformat, etc). For example the libav-user mailing list, for questions and discussions about using the FFmpeg libraries, is unrelated to the Libav project.

How to tell the difference

If you are using avconv then you are using Libav. If you are using ffmpeg you could be using FFmpeg or Libav. Refer to the first line in the console output to tell the difference: the copyright notice will either mention FFmpeg or Libav.

Secondly, the version numbering schemes differ. Each of the FFmpeg or Libav libraries contains a version.h header which shows a version number. FFmpeg will end in three digits, such as 57.67.100, and Libav will end in one digit such as 57.67.0. You can also view the library version numbers by running ffmpeg or avconv and viewing the console output.

You need to do this in a loop, there is no built-in operation to remove a number of indexes at once.

Your example is actually a contiguous sequence of indexes, so you can do this:

del my_list[2:6]

which removes the slice starting at 2 and ending just before 6.

It isn't clear from your question whether in general you need to remove an arbitrary collection of indexes, or if it will always be a contiguous sequence.

I believe you are not the only one who has problems when trying to deploy Crystal Report for VS 2010. Based on the error message you had, have you checked:

  1. Please make sure you just have one CR version installed on your system. If you do have other CR version installed, consider to uninstall it so that your application is not "confused" about the CR version.

  2. You need to make sure you download the correct CR version. Since you are using VS 2010, you need to refer to CRforVS_redist_install_64bit_13_0_1.zip (for 64 bit machine) or CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_1.zip (for 32 bit machine). These two are the redistributable packages. You can download full package from the below link as well: CRforVS_13_0_1.exe Note: It is sometimes necessary to install 32bit CR runtime even on 64bit OS

  3. Make sure you setup FULL TRUST permission on your root folder

  4. The LOCAL SERVICE permission must be setup on your application pool

  5. Make sure the aspnet_client folder exists on your root folder.

If you can make sure all the 5 points above, your Crystal Report should work without any fuss.

Another important thing to note down here is that if you host your Crystal Report with a shared host, you need to check it with them of whether they really support Crystal Report. If you still have problems, you can switch to http://www.asphostcentral.com, who provides Crystal Report support.

There is no way to prevent session hijaking 100%, but with some approach can we reduce the time for an attacker to hijaking the session.

Method to prevent session hijaking:

1 - always use session with ssl certificate;

2 - send session cookie only with httponly set to true(prevent javascript to access session cookie)

2 - use session regenerate id at login and logout(note: do not use session regenerate at each request because if you have consecutive ajax request then you have a chance to create multiple session.)

3 - set a session timeout

4 - store browser user agent in a $_SESSION variable an compare with $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] at each request

5 - set a token cookie ,and set expiration time of that cookie to 0(until the browser is closed). Regenerate the cookie value for each request.(For ajax request do not regenerate token cookie). EX:

According to the documentation NUM_ROWS is the "Number of rows in the table", so I can see how this might be confusing. There, however, is a major difference between these two methods.

This query selects the number of rows in MY_TABLE from a system view. This is data that Oracle has previously collected and stored.

This query counts the current number of rows in MY_TABLE

By definition they are difference pieces of data. There are two additional pieces of information you need about NUM_ROWS.

  1. In the documentation there's an asterisk by the column name, which leads to this note:

    Columns marked with an asterisk (*) are populated only if you collect statistics on the table with the ANALYZE statement or the DBMS_STATS package.

    This means that unless you have gathered statistics on the table then this column will not have any data.

  2. Statistics gathered in 11g+ with the default estimate_percent, or with a 100% estimate, will return an accurate number for that point in time. But statistics gathered before 11g, or with a custom estimate_percent less than 100%, uses dynamic sampling and may be incorrect. If you gather 99.999% a single row may be missed, which in turn means that the answer you get is incorrect.

If your table is never updated then it is certainly possible to use ALL_TABLES.NUM_ROWS to find out the number of rows in a table. However, and it's a big however, if any process inserts or deletes rows from your table it will be at best a good approximation and depending on whether your database gathers statistics automatically could be horribly wrong.

Generally speaking, it is always better to actually count the number of rows in the table rather then relying on the system tables.

The \ character is called an escape character, which interprets the character following it differently. For example, n by itself is simply a letter, but when you precede it with a backslash, it becomes \n, which is the newline character.

As you can probably guess, \ also needs to be escaped so it doesn't function like an escape character. You have to... escape the escape, essentially.

Converting int to bytes in Python 3

The ASCIIfication of 3 is "\x33" not "\x03"!

That is what python does for str(3) but it would be totally wrong for bytes, as they should be considered arrays of binary data and not be abused as strings.

The most easy way to achieve what you want is bytes((3,)), which is better than bytes([3]) because initializing a list is much more expensive, so never use lists when you can use tuples. You can convert bigger integers by using int.to_bytes(3, "little").

Initializing bytes with a given length makes sense and is the most useful, as they are often used to create some type of buffer for which you need some memory of given size allocated. I often use this when initializing arrays or expanding some file by writing zeros to it.

EDIT: Starting from IPython 3 (now Jupyter project), the notebook has a text editor that can be used as a more convenient alternative to load/edit/save text files.

A text file can be loaded in a notebook cell with the magic command %load.

No, you can't do this using Javascript alone. Client-side Javascript cannot read the contents of a directory the way I think you're asking about.

However, if you're able to add an index page to (or configure your web server to show an index page for) the images directory and you're serving the Javascript from the same server then you could make an AJAX call to fetch the index and then parse it.

1) Enable indexes in Apache for the relevant directory on yoursite.com:

Slightly off topic but could be very useful as it could be the basis for other tasks you might want to do with simulators.

I like to keep my simulator list to a minimum, and since there is no multi-select in the "Devices and Simulators" it is a pain to delete them all.

So I boot all the sims that I want to use then, remove all the simulators that I don't have booted.

Delete all the shutdown simulators:

You can straighten that out by looking from further away. Further away the curvature becomes flattened out. So just add say 1000 to each of the x,y and z components to give x',y' and z'. I'm adding this answer not because it's likely to be helpful but just because it's true.

In addition to using the existing answers explaining how to make more than one translation by chaining them, you can also construct the 4x4 matrix yourself

I grabbed the following image from some random site I found while googling which shows rotational matrices:

I couldn't find a good example of translation, so assuming I remember/understand it right, translation:

Matrix multiplication works between these 4x4 matrices of course, so to perform a rotation followed by a translation, you make the appropriate rotation matrix and multiply it by the translation matrix.

This can give you a bit more freedom to get it just right, and will also make it pretty much completely impossible for anyone to understand what it's doing, including you in five minutes.

The UPDATE statement is given so that older fields can be updated to new value. If your older values are the same as your new ones, why would you need to update it in any case?

For eg. if your columns a to g are already set as 2 to 8; there would be no need to re-update it.

This is for anyone that is trying to get a list of all files in a folder and its sub-folders and save it in a text document. Below is the full code including the “using” statements, “namespace”, “class”, “methods” etc. I tried commenting as much as possible throughout the code so you could understand what each part is doing. This will create a text document that contains a list of all files in all folders and sub-folders of any given root folder. After all, what good is a list (like in Console.WriteLine) if you can’t do something with it. Here I have created a folder on the C drive called “Folder1” and created a folder inside that one called “Folder2”. Next I filled folder2 with a bunch of files, folders and files and folders within those folders. This example code will get all the files and create a list in a text document and place that text document in Folder1. Caution: you shouldn’t save the text document to Folder2 (the folder you are reading from), that would be just bad practice. Always save it to another folder.

If you're making a dictionary only to make a list of tuples, as creating dicts like you are may be a pain, you might look into using zip()

Its especialy useful if you've got one heading, and multiple rows. For instance if I assume that you want Olympics stats for countries:

I m not satisfied by the best answer by the Joseph, instead of fixing the correct problem, he told that this is wrong use case. In fact there are many places for example if you are converting an old codebase to ajaxified code and there you NEED it, then you NEED it. In programming there is no excuse because its not only you who is coding its all bad and good developers and you have to work side by side. So if I don't code redirection in ajax my fellow developer can force me to have a solution for it. Just like I like to use all AMD patterned sites or mvc4, and my company can keep me away from it for a year.

So let's talk on the solution now.

I have done hell heck of ajax request and response handling and the simplest way I found out was to send status codes to the client and have one standard javascript function to understand those codes. If i simply send for example code 13 it might meant a redirect.

So a json response like { statusCode: 13, messsage: '/home/logged-in' } of course there are tons of variations proposed like { status: 'success', code: 13, url: '/home/logged-in', message: 'You are logged in now' }

etc , so up to your own choice of standard messages

How to iterate through a DataTable

...assumes the connection is open and the command is set up properly. I also didn't check the syntax, but it should give you the idea.

RSA Public Key format

You can't just change the delimiters from ---- BEGIN SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ---- to -----BEGIN RSA PUBLIC KEY----- and expect that it will be sufficient to convert from one format to another (which is what you've done in your example).

This article has a good explanation about both formats.

What you get in an RSA PUBLIC KEY is closer to the content of a PUBLIC KEY, but you need to offset the start of your ASN.1 structure to reflect the fact that PUBLIC KEY also has an indicator saying which type of key it is (see RFC 3447). You can see this using openssl asn1parse and -strparse 19, as described in this answer.

To decode the SSH key format, you need to use the data format specification in RFC 4251 too, in conjunction with RFC 4253:

   The "ssh-rsa" key format has the following specific encoding:

      string    "ssh-rsa"
      mpint     e
      mpint     n

For example, at the beginning, you get 00 00 00 07 73 73 68 2d 72 73 61. The first four bytes (00 00 00 07) give you the length. The rest is the string itself: 73=s, 68=h, ... -> 73 73 68 2d 72 73 61=ssh-rsa, followed by the exponent of length 1 (00 00 00 01 25) and the modulus of length 256 (00 00 01 00 7f ...).
