Programs & Examples On #Web optimization

The ASP.NET Web optimization framework provides services to improve the performance of your ASP.NET Web applications.

MVC 4 @Scripts "does not exist"

One more for the pot - spent ages trying to work out the same problem - even though it was defined in the web.config for root and the root of Views. Turns out I'd mistakenly added it to the <system.web><pages><namespaces>, and not <system.web**.webPages.razor**><pages><namespaces> element.

Really easy to miss that!

Tri-state Check box in HTML?

You can use radio groups to achieve that functionality:

<input type="radio" name="choice" value="yes" />Yes
<input type="radio" name="choice" value="No" />No
<input type="radio" name="choice" value="null" />null

UIImageView aspect fit and center

[your_imageview setContentMode:UIViewContentModeCenter];

how to get the last character of a string?

You can achieve this using different ways but with different performance,

1. Using bracket notation:

var str = "Test"; var lastLetter = str[str.length - 1];

But it's not recommended to use brackets. Check the reasons here

2. charAt[index]:

var lastLetter = str.charAt(str.length - 1)

This is readable and fastest among others. It is most recommended way.

3. substring:

str.substring(str.length - 1);

4. slice:

str.slice(-1);

It's slightly faster than substring.

You can check the performance here

With ES6:

You can use str.endsWith("t");

But it is not supported in IE. Check more details about endsWith here

WebView showing ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED although site is HTTPS

Solution:

Add the below line in your application tag:

android:usesCleartextTraffic="true"

As shown below:

<application
    ....
    android:usesCleartextTraffic="true"
    ....>

UPDATE: If you have network security config such as: android:networkSecurityConfig="@xml/network_security_config"

No Need to set clear text traffic to true as shown above, instead use the below code:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<network-security-config>
    <domain-config cleartextTrafficPermitted="true">
        ....
        ....
    </domain-config>

    <base-config cleartextTrafficPermitted="false"/>
</network-security-config>

Set the cleartextTrafficPermitted to true

Hope it helps.

Create excel ranges using column numbers in vba?

In case you were looking to transform your column number into a letter:

Function ConvertToLetter(iCol As Integer) As String
    Dim iAlpha As Integer
    Dim iRemainder As Integer
    iAlpha = Int(iCol / 27)
    iRemainder = iCol - (iAlpha * 26)
    If iAlpha > 0 Then
        ConvertToLetter = Chr(iAlpha + 64)
    End If
    If iRemainder > 0 Then
        ConvertToLetter = ConvertToLetter & Chr(iRemainder + 64)
    End If
End Function

This way you could do something like this:

Function selectColumnRange(colNum As Integer, targetWorksheet As Worksheet)
    Dim colLetter As String
    Dim testRange As Range
    colLetter = ConvertToLetter(colNum)
    testRange = targetWorksheet.Range(colLetter & ":" & colLetter).Select
End Function

That example function would select the entire column ( i.e. Range("A:A").Select)

Responsive css styles on mobile devices ONLY

Yes, this can be done via javascript feature detection ( or browser detection , e.g. Modernizr ) . Then, use yepnope.js to load required resources ( JS and/or CSS )

Maven package/install without test (skip tests)

The best and the easiest way to do it, in IntelliJ Idea in the window “Maven Project”, and just don’t click on the test button. I hope, I helped you. Have a good day :)

External VS2013 build error "error MSB4019: The imported project <path> was not found"

Running this in the commandline will fix the problem also. SETX VisualStudioVersion "12.0"

PHP ini file_get_contents external url

The answers provided above solve the problem but don't explain the strange behaviour the OP described. This explanation should help anyone testing communication between sites in a development environment where these sites all reside on the same host (and the same virtualhost; I'm working with apache 2.4 and php7.0).

There's a subtlety with file_get_contents() I came across that is absolutely relevant here but unaddressed (probably because it's either barely documented or not documented from what I can tell or is documented in an obscure php security model whitepaper I can't find).

With allow_url_fopen set to Off in all relevant contexts (e.g. /etc/php/7.0/apache2/php.ini, /etc/php/7.0/fpm/php.ini, etc...) and allow_url_fopen set to On in the command line context (i.e. /etc/php/7.0/cli/php.ini), calls to file_get_contents() for a local resource will be allowed and no warning will be logged such as:

file_get_contents('php://input');

or

// Path outside document root that webserver user agent has permission to read. e.g. for an apache2 webserver this user agent might be www-data so a file at /etc/php/7.0/filetoaccess would be successfully read if www-data had permission to read this file
file_get_contents('<file path to file on local machine user agent can access>');

or

// Relative path in same document root
file_get_contents('data/filename.dat')

To conclude, the restriction allow_url_fopen = Off is analogous to an iptables rule in the OUTPUT chain, where the restriction is only applied when an attempt to "exit the system" or "change contexts" is made.

N.B. allow_url_fopen set to On in the command line context (i.e. /etc/php/7.0/cli/php.ini) is what I had on my system but I suspect it would have no bearing on the explanation I provided even if it were set to Off unless of course you're testing by running your scripts from the command line itself. I did not test the behaviour with allow_url_fopen set to Off in the command line context.

How can I export tables to Excel from a webpage

Assumptions:

  1. given url

  2. the conversion has to be done on client side

  3. systems are Windows, Mac and linux

Solution for Windows:

python code that open the ie window and has access to it: theurl variable contain the url ('http://')

ie = Dispatch("InternetExplorer.Application")
ie.Visible = 1
ie.Navigate(theurl)

Note: if the page is not accessible directly, but login, you will need to handle this by entering the form data and emulating the user actions with python

here is the example

from win32com.client import Dispatch
ie.Document.all('username').value=usr
ie.Document.all('password').value=psw

the same manner for retrieval of data from web page. Let's say element with id 'el1' contain the data. retrieve the element text to the variable

el1 = ie.Document.all('el1').value

then when data is in python variable, you can open the excel screen in similar manner using python:

from win32com.client import Dispatch
xlApp = Dispatch("Excel.Application")
xlWb = xlApp.Workbooks.Open("Read.xls")
xlSht = xlWb.WorkSheets(1)
xlSht.Cells(row, col).Value = el1

Solution for Mac:

only the tip: use AppleScript - it has simple and similar API as win32com.client Dispatch

Solution for Linux:

java.awt.Robot might work for this it has click, key press (hot keys can be used), but none API for Linux that I am aware about that can work as simple as AppleScript

How to check if a service is running via batch file and start it, if it is not running?

To toggle a service use the following;

NET START "Distributed Transaction Coordinator" ||NET STOP "Distributed Transaction Coordinator"

Extract every nth element of a vector

a <- 1:120
b <- a[seq(1, length(a), 6)]

Disable Transaction Log

SQL Server requires a transaction log in order to function.

That said there are two modes of operation for the transaction log:

  • Simple
  • Full

In Full mode the transaction log keeps growing until you back up the database. In Simple mode: space in the transaction log is 'recycled' every Checkpoint.

Very few people have a need to run their databases in the Full recovery model. The only point in using the Full model is if you want to backup the database multiple times per day, and backing up the whole database takes too long - so you just backup the transaction log.

The transaction log keeps growing all day, and you keep backing just it up. That night you do your full backup, and SQL Server then truncates the transaction log, begins to reuse the space allocated in the transaction log file.

If you only ever do full database backups, you don't want the Full recovery mode.

Does Java have an exponential operator?

There is the Math.pow(double a, double b) method. Note that it returns a double, you will have to cast it to an int like (int)Math.pow(double a, double b).

Highlight text similar to grep, but don't filter out text

You can do it using only grep by:

  1. reading the file line by line
  2. matching a pattern in each line and highlighting pattern by grep
  3. if there is no match, echo the line as is

which gives you the following:

while read line ; do (echo $line | grep PATTERN) || echo $line  ; done < inputfile

ERROR in Cannot find module 'node-sass'

You should try to check the log generated by npm install.

I have faced the same issues, and I found the error that python2 is not found in the path (environment variable).

After installing Python, everything worked fine.

Word count from a txt file program

The funny symbols you're encountering are a UTF-8 BOM (Byte Order Mark). To get rid of them, open the file using the correct encoding (I'm assuming you're on Python 3):

file = open(r"D:\zzzz\names2.txt", "r", encoding="utf-8-sig")

Furthermore, for counting, you can use collections.Counter:

from collections import Counter
wordcount = Counter(file.read().split())

Display them with:

>>> for item in wordcount.items(): print("{}\t{}".format(*item))
...
snake   1
lion    2
goat    2
horse   3

tomcat - CATALINA_BASE and CATALINA_HOME variables

If you are running multiple instances of Tomcat on a single host you should set CATALINA_BASE to be equal to the .../tomcat_instance1 or .../tomcat_instance2 directory as appropriate for each instance and the CATALINA_HOME environment variable to the common Tomcat installation whose files will be shared between the two instances.

The CATALINA_BASE environment is optional if you are running a single Tomcat instance on the host and will default to CATALINA_HOME in that case. If you are running multiple instances as you are it should be provided.

There is a pretty good description of this setup in the RUNNING.txt file in the root of the Apache Tomcat distribution under the heading Advanced Configuration - Multiple Tomcat Instances

How to filter input type="file" dialog by specific file type?

How to disable spring security for particular url

I faced the same problem here's the solution:(Explained)

        .formLogin() // not specified form page to use default login page of spring security.
            .permitAll()
             .and()

Create parameterized VIEW in SQL Server 2008

in fact there exists one trick:

create view view_test as

select
  *
from
  table
where id = (select convert(int, convert(binary(4), context_info)) from master.dbo.sysprocesses
where
spid = @@spid)

... in sql-query:

set context_info 2
select * from view_test

will be the same with

select * from table where id = 2

but using udf is more acceptable

Change bootstrap navbar background color and font color

Most likely these classes are already defined by Bootstrap, make sure that your CSS file that you want to override the classes with is called AFTER the Bootstrap CSS.

<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/bootstrap.css" /> <!-- Call Bootstrap first -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/bootstrap-override.css" /> <!-- Call override CSS second -->

Otherwise, you can put !important at the end of your CSS like this: color:#ffffff!important; but I would advise against using !important at all costs.

Convert INT to VARCHAR SQL

How to multiply all integers inside list

Try a list comprehension:

l = [x * 2 for x in l]

This goes through l, multiplying each element by two.

Of course, there's more than one way to do it. If you're into lambda functions and map, you can even do

l = map(lambda x: x * 2, l)

to apply the function lambda x: x * 2 to each element in l. This is equivalent to:

def timesTwo(x):
    return x * 2

l = map(timesTwo, l)

Note that map() returns a map object, not a list, so if you really need a list afterwards you can use the list() function afterwards, for instance:

l = list(map(timesTwo, l))

Thanks to Minyc510 in the comments for this clarification.

Retrieve CPU usage and memory usage of a single process on Linux?

The following command gets the average of CPU and memory usage every 40 seconds for a specific process(pid)

pidstat 40 -ru -p <pid>

Output for my case(first two lines for CPU usage, second two lines for memory):

new Image(), how to know if image 100% loaded or not?

Using the Promise pattern:

function getImage(url){
        return new Promise(function(resolve, reject){
            var img = new Image()
            img.onload = function(){
                resolve(url)
            }
            img.onerror = function(){
                reject(url)
            }
            img.src = url
        })
    }

And when calling the function we can handle its response or error quite neatly.

getImage('imgUrl').then(function(successUrl){
    //do stufff
}).catch(function(errorUrl){
    //do stuff
})

java.util.Date vs java.sql.Date

The only time to use java.sql.Date is in a PreparedStatement.setDate. Otherwise, use java.util.Date. It's telling that ResultSet.getDate returns a java.sql.Date but it can be assigned directly to a java.util.Date.

How can I take an UIImage and give it a black border?

You can do this by creating a new image (also answered in your other posting of this question):

- (UIImage*)imageWithBorderFromImage:(UIImage*)source;
{
  CGSize size = [source size];
  UIGraphicsBeginImageContext(size);
  CGRect rect = CGRectMake(0, 0, size.width, size.height);
  [source drawInRect:rect blendMode:kCGBlendModeNormal alpha:1.0];

  CGContextRef context = UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext();
  CGContextSetRGBStrokeColor(context, 1.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.0);
  CGContextStrokeRect(context, rect);
  UIImage *testImg =  UIGraphicsGetImageFromCurrentImageContext();
  UIGraphicsEndImageContext();
  return testImg;
}

This code will produce a pink border around the image. However if you are going to just display the border then use the layer of the UIImageView and set its border.

Getting the document object of an iframe

In my case, it was due to Same Origin policies. To explain it further, MDN states the following:

If the iframe and the iframe's parent document are Same Origin, returns a Document (that is, the active document in the inline frame's nested browsing context), else returns null.

How to declare and display a variable in Oracle

Did you recently switch from MySQL and are now longing for the logical equivalents of its more simple commands in Oracle? Because that is the case for me and I had the very same question. This code will give you a quick and dirty print which I think is what you're looking for:

Variable n number
begin
    :n := 1;
end;
print n

The middle section is a PL/SQL bit that binds the variable. The output from print n is in column form, and will not just give the value of n, I'm afraid. When I ran it in Toad 11 it returned like this

        n
---------
        1

I hope that helps

How do I convert a Python 3 byte-string variable into a regular string?

UPDATED:

TO NOT HAVE ANY b and quotes at first and end

How to convert bytes as seen to strings, even in weird situations.

As your code may have unrecognizable characters to 'utf-8' encoding, it's better to use just str without any additional parameters:

some_bad_bytes = b'\x02-\xdfI#)'
text = str( some_bad_bytes )[2:-1]

print(text)
Output: \x02-\xdfI

if you add 'utf-8' parameter, to these specific bytes, you should receive error.

As PYTHON 3 standard says, text would be in utf-8 now with no concern.

CMD command to check connected USB devices

You can use the wmic command:

wmic path CIM_LogicalDevice where "Description like 'USB%'" get /value

How can I check whether a option already exist in select by JQuery

Another way using jQuery:

var exists = false;
$('#yourSelect  option').each(function(){
  if (this.value == yourValue) {
    exists = true;
  }
});

CSS3 transitions inside jQuery .css()

Your code can get messy fast when dealing with CSS3 transitions. I would recommend using a plugin such as jQuery Transit that handles the complexity of CSS3 animations/transitions.

Moreover, the plugin uses webkit-transform rather than webkit-transition, which allows for mobile devices to use hardware acceleration in order to give your web apps that native look and feel when the animations occur.

JS Fiddle Live Demo

Javascript:

$("#startTransition").on("click", function()
{

    if( $(".boxOne").is(":visible"))
    {
        $(".boxOne").transition({ x: '-100%', opacity: 0.1 }, function () { $(".boxOne").hide(); });
        $(".boxTwo").css({ x: '100%' });
        $(".boxTwo").show().transition({ x: '0%', opacity: 1.0 });
        return;
    }

    $(".boxTwo").transition({ x: '-100%', opacity: 0.1 }, function () { $(".boxTwo").hide(); });
    $(".boxOne").css({ x: '100%' });
    $(".boxOne").show().transition({ x: '0%', opacity: 1.0 });

});

Most of the hard work of getting cross-browser compatibility is done for you as well and it works like a charm on mobile devices.

pandas convert some columns into rows

Use set_index with stack for MultiIndex Series, then for DataFrame add reset_index with rename:

df1 = (df.set_index(["location", "name"])
         .stack()
         .reset_index(name='Value')
         .rename(columns={'level_2':'Date'}))
print (df1)
  location  name        Date  Value
0        A  test    Jan-2010     12
1        A  test    Feb-2010     20
2        A  test  March-2010     30
3        B   foo    Jan-2010     18
4        B   foo    Feb-2010     20
5        B   foo  March-2010     25

Understanding string reversal via slicing

It's using extended slicing - a string is a sequence in Python, and shares some methods with other sequences (namely lists and tuples). There are three parts to slicing - start, stop and step. All of them have default values - start defaults to 0, stop defaults to len(sequence), and step defaults to 1. By specifying [::-1] you're saying "all the elements in sequence a, starting from the beginning, to the end going backward one at a time.

This feature was introduced in Python 2.3.5, and you can read more in the What's New docs.

Permission denied on CopyFile in VBS

It's worth checking task manager for any stray wscript.exe tasks that are stuck. It could be one of those that's blocking access to the file.

Is it possible to program Android to act as physical USB keyboard?

Looks like someone finally did it, it is a tiny bit ugly - but here it is:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1871281

It involves some kernel recompiling, and a bit of editing, and you loose partial functionality (the MDC?) .. but it's done.

Personally though, now that I see the "true cost", I would probably put together a little adapter on a Teency or something - assuming that Android can talk to serial devices via USB. But that's based on the fact that I have a samsung, and would require a special cable to make a USB connection anyway - no extra pain to have a little device on the end, if I have to carry the damn cable around anyway.

How do you make an array of structs in C?

Solution using pointers:

#include<stdio.h>
#include<stdlib.h>
#define n 3
struct body
{
    double p[3];//position
    double v[3];//velocity
    double a[3];//acceleration
    double radius;
    double *mass;
};

int main()
{
    struct body *bodies = (struct body*)malloc(n*sizeof(struct body));
    int a, b;
     for(a = 0; a < n; a++)
     {
            for(b = 0; b < 3; b++)
            {
                bodies[a].p[b] = 0;
                bodies[a].v[b] = 0;
                bodies[a].a[b] = 0;
            }
            bodies[a].mass = 0;
            bodies[a].radius = 1.0;
     }

    return 0;
}

What can cause a “Resource temporarily unavailable” on sock send() command

Let'e me give an example:

  1. client connect to server, and send 1MB data to server every 1 second.

  2. server side accept a connection, and then sleep 20 second, without recv msg from client.So the tcp send buffer in the client side will be full.

Code in client side:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <errno.h>
#include <fcntl.h>

    printf("but now I will sleep 15 second, then exit");
    sleep(15);
}

Start server side, then start client side.

server side may output:

accept a connection from 127.0.0.1:35764
but now I will sleep 15 second, then exit
Process finished with exit code 0

client side may output:

You can see, as the server side doesn't recv the data from client, so when the client side tcp buffer get full, but you still send data, so you may get Resource temporarily unavailable error.

What is the best way to know if all the variables in a Class are null?

            if(type.equals("class java.lang.String")){
                Method m = model.getClass().getMethod("get"+name);

What is a semaphore?

This is an old question but one of the most interesting uses of semaphore is a read/write lock and it has not been explicitly mentioned.

The r/w locks works in simple fashion: consume one permit for a reader and all permits for writers. Indeed, a trivial implementation of a r/w lock but requires metadata modification on read (actually twice) that can become a bottle neck, still significantly better than a mutex or lock.

Another downside is that writers can be started rather easily as well unless the semaphore is a fair one or the writes acquire permits in multiple requests, in such case they need an explicit mutex between themselves.

Print page numbers on pages when printing html

Try to use https://www.pagedjs.org/. It polyfills page counter, header-/footer-functionality for all major browsers.

@page {
  @bottom-left {
    content: counter(page) ' of ' counter(pages);
  }
}

It's so much more comfortable compared to alternatives like PrinceXML, Antennahouse, WeasyPrince, PDFReactor, etc ...

And it is totally free! No pricing or whatever. It really saved my life!

Linux: is there a read or recv from socket with timeout?

You can use the setsockopt function to set a timeout on receive operations:

SO_RCVTIMEO

Sets the timeout value that specifies the maximum amount of time an input function waits until it completes. It accepts a timeval structure with the number of seconds and microseconds specifying the limit on how long to wait for an input operation to complete. If a receive operation has blocked for this much time without receiving additional data, it shall return with a partial count or errno set to [EAGAIN] or [EWOULDBLOCK] if no data is received. The default for this option is zero, which indicates that a receive operation shall not time out. This option takes a timeval structure. Note that not all implementations allow this option to be set.

// LINUX
struct timeval tv;
tv.tv_sec = timeout_in_seconds;
tv.tv_usec = 0;
setsockopt(sockfd, SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVTIMEO, (const char*)&tv, sizeof tv);

// WINDOWS
DWORD timeout = timeout_in_seconds * 1000;
setsockopt(socket, SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVTIMEO, (const char*)&timeout, sizeof timeout);

// MAC OS X (identical to Linux)
struct timeval tv;
tv.tv_sec = timeout_in_seconds;
tv.tv_usec = 0;
setsockopt(sockfd, SOL_SOCKET, SO_RCVTIMEO, (const char*)&tv, sizeof tv);

Reportedly on Windows this should be done before calling bind. I have verified by experiment that it can be done either before or after bind on Linux and OS X.

Best practices with STDIN in Ruby?

Ruby provides another way to handle STDIN: The -n flag. It treats your entire program as being inside a loop over STDIN, (including files passed as command line args). See e.g. the following 1-line script:

#!/usr/bin/env ruby -n

#example.rb

puts "hello: #{$_}" #prepend 'hello:' to each line from STDIN

#these will all work:
# ./example.rb < input.txt
# cat input.txt | ./example.rb
# ./example.rb input.txt

Sum a list of numbers in Python

The simplest way to solve this problem:

How to remove item from array by value?

Another variation:

if (!Array.prototype.removeArr) {
    Array.prototype.removeArr = function(arr) {
        if(!Array.isArray(arr)) arr=[arr];//let's be nice to people who put a non-array value here.. that could be me!
        var that = this;
        if(arr.length){
            var i=0;
            while(i<that.length){
                if(arr.indexOf(that[i])>-1){
                    that.splice(i,1);
                }else i++;
            }
        }
        return that;
    }
}

It's indexOf() inside a loop again, but on the assumption that the array to remove is small relative to the array to be cleaned; every removal shortens the while loop.

ASP.NET: Session.SessionID changes between requests

This was changing for me beginning with .NET 4.7.2 and it was due to the SameSite property on the session cookie. See here for more info: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/aspnet/upcoming-samesite-cookie-changes-in-asp-net-and-asp-net-core/

The default value changed to "Lax" and started breaking things. I changed it to "None" and things worked as expected.

How to call a function from a string stored in a variable?

For the sake of completeness, you can also use eval():

$functionName = "foo()";
eval($functionName);

However, call_user_func() is the proper way.

count number of rows in a data frame in R based on group

Just for completion the data.table solution:

library(data.table)

What does "static" mean in C?

If you declare a variable in a function static, its value will not be stored on the function call stack and will still be available when you call the function again.

If you declare a global variable static, its scope will be restricted to within the file in which you declared it. This is slightly safer than a regular global which can be read and modified throughout your entire program.

Android View shadow

If you are in need of the shadows properly to be applied then you have to do the following.

Consider this view, defined with a background drawable:

<TextView
    android:id="@+id/myview"
    ...
    android:elevation="2dp"
    android:background="@drawable/myrect" />

The background drawable is defined as a rectangle with rounded corners:

<shape xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
       android:shape="rectangle">
    <solid android:color="#42000000" />
    <corners android:radius="5dp" />
</shape>

This is the recomended way of appying shadows check this out https://developer.android.com/training/material/shadows-clipping.html#Shadows

How do I verify/check/test/validate my SSH passphrase?

ssh-keygen -y

ssh-keygen -y will prompt you for the passphrase (if there is one).

    If you input the correct passphrase, it will show you the associated public key.
    If you input the wrong passphrase, it will display load failed.
    If the key has no passphrase, it will not prompt you for a passphrase and will immediately show you the associated public key.

e.g.,

Create a new public/private key pair, with or without a passphrase:

$ ssh-keygen -f /tmp/my_key
...

Now see if you can access the key pair:

$ ssh-keygen -y -f /tmp/my_key

Following is an extended example, showing output.

Create a new public/private key pair, with or without a passphrase:

$ ssh-keygen -f /tmp/my_key
Generating public/private rsa key pair.
Enter passphrase (empty for no passphrase):
Enter same passphrase again:
Your identification has been saved in /tmp/my_key.
Your public key has been saved in /tmp/my_key.pub.
The key fingerprint is:
de:24:1b:64:06:43:ca:76:ba:81:e5:f2:59:3b:81:fe [email protected]
The key's randomart image is:
+--[ RSA 2048]----+
|     .+          |
|   . . o         |
|    = . +        |

|    = o o .      |
|     . .         |
|      E          |
+-----------------+

Attempt to access the key pair by inputting the correct passphrase. Note that the public key will be shown and the exit status ($?) will be 0 to indicate success:

$ ssh-keygen -y -f /tmp/my_key
Enter passphrase:
ssh-rsa AAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAADAQABAAABAQDBJhVYDYxXOvcQw0iJTPY64anbwSyzI58hht6xCGJ2gzGUJDIsr1NDQsclka6s0J9TNhUEBBzKvh9nTAYibXwwhIqBwJ6UwWIfA3HY13WS161CUpuKv2A/PrfK0wLFBDBlwP6WjwJNfi4NwxA21GUS/Vcm/SuMwaFid9bM2Ap4wZIahx2fxyJhmHugGUFF9qYI4yRJchaVj7TxEmquCXgVf4RVWnOSs9/MTH8YvH+wHP4WmUzsDI+uaF1SpCyQ1DpazzPWAQPgZv9R8ihOrItLXC1W6TPJkt1CLr/YFpz6vapdola8cRw6g/jTYms00Yxf2hn0/o8ORpQ9qBpcAjJN
$ echo $?
0

Attempt to access the key pair by inputting an incorrect passphrase. Note that the "load failed" error message will be displayed (message may differ depending on OS) and the exit status ($?) will be 1 to indicate an error:

$ ssh-keygen -y -f /tmp/my_key
Enter passphrase:
load failed
$ echo $?
1

Attempt to access a key pair that has no passphrase. Note that there is no prompt for the passphrase, the public key will be displayed, and the exit status ($?) will be 0 to indicate success:

$ ssh-keygen -y -f /tmp/my_key_with_no_passphrase
ssh-rsa AAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAADAQABAAABAQDLinxx9T4HE6Brw2CvFacvFrYcOSoQUmwL4Cld4enpg8vEiN8DB2ygrhFtKVo0qMAiGWyqz9gXweXhdmAIsVXqhOJIQvD8FqddA/SMgqM++2M7GxgH68N+0V+ih7EUqf8Hb2PIeubhkQJQGzB3FjYkvRLZqE/oC1Q5nL4B1L1zDQYPSnQKneaRNG/NGIaoVwsy6gcCZeqKHywsXBOHLF4F5nf/JKqfS6ojStvzajf0eyQcUMDVhdxTN/hIfEN/HdYbOxHtwDoerv+9f6h2OUxZny1vRNivZxTa+9Qzcet4tkZWibgLmqRyFeTcWh+nOJn7K3puFB2kKoJ10q31Tq19
$ echo $?
0

Note that the order of arguments is important. -y must come before -f input_keyfile, else you will get the error Too many arguments..

Load a Bootstrap popover content with AJAX. Is this possible?

Here is my solution which works fine with ajax loaded content too.

/*
 * popover handler assigned document (or 'body')
 * triggered on hover, show content from data-content or
 * ajax loaded from url by using data-remotecontent attribute
 */
$(document).popover({
    selector: 'a.preview',
    placement: get_popover_placement,
    content: get_popover_content,
    html: true,
    trigger: 'hover'
});

function get_popover_content() {
    if ($(this).attr('data-remotecontent')) {
        // using remote content, url in $(this).attr('data-remotecontent')
        $(this).addClass("loading");
        var content = $.ajax({
            url: $(this).attr('data-remotecontent'),
            type: "GET",
            data: $(this).serialize(),
            dataType: "html",
            async: false,
            success: function() {
                // just get the response
            },
            error: function() {
                // nothing
            }
        }).responseText;
        var container = $(this).attr('data-rel');
        $(this).removeClass("loading");
        if (typeof container !== 'undefined') {
            // show a specific element such as "#mydetails"
            return $(content).find(container);
        }
        // show the whole page
        return content;
    }
    // show standard popover content
    return $(this).attr('data-content');
}

function get_popover_placement(pop, el) {
    if ($(el).attr('data-placement')) {
        return $(el).attr('data-placement');
    }
    // find out the best placement
    // ... cut ...
    return 'left';
}

How many characters in varchar(max)

See the MSDN reference table for maximum numbers/sizes.

Bytes per varchar(max), varbinary(max), xml, text, or image column: 2^31-1

There's a two-byte overhead for the column, so the actual data is 2^31-3 max bytes in length. Assuming you're using a single-byte character encoding, that's 2^31-3 characters total. (If you're using a character encoding that uses more than one byte per character, divide by the total number of bytes per character. If you're using a variable-length character encoding, all bets are off.)

Entity Framework Code First - two Foreign Keys from same table

You can try this too:

public class Match
{
    [Key]
    public int MatchId { get; set; }

    [ForeignKey("HomeTeam"), Column(Order = 0)]
    public int? HomeTeamId { get; set; }
    [ForeignKey("GuestTeam"), Column(Order = 1)]
    public int? GuestTeamId { get; set; }

    public float HomePoints { get; set; }
    public float GuestPoints { get; set; }
    public DateTime Date { get; set; }

    public virtual Team HomeTeam { get; set; }
    public virtual Team GuestTeam { get; set; }
}

When you make a FK column allow NULLS, you are breaking the cycle. Or we are just cheating the EF schema generator.

In my case, this simple modification solve the problem.

How to return 2 values from a Java method?

you have to use collections to return more then one return values

in your case you write your code as

public static List something(){
        List<Integer> list = new ArrayList<Integer>();
        int number1 = 1;
        int number2 = 2;
        list.add(number1);
        list.add(number2);
        return list;
    }

    // Main class code
    public static void main(String[] args) {
      something();
      List<Integer> numList = something();
    }

Django ManyToMany filter()

Just restating what Tomasz said.

There are many examples of FOO__in=... style filters in the many-to-many and many-to-one tests. Here is syntax for your specific problem:

users_in_1zone = User.objects.filter(zones__id=<id1>)
# same thing but using in
users_in_1zone = User.objects.filter(zones__in=[<id1>])

# filtering on a few zones, by id
users_in_zones = User.objects.filter(zones__in=[<id1>, <id2>, <id3>])
# and by zone object (object gets converted to pk under the covers)
users_in_zones = User.objects.filter(zones__in=[zone1, zone2, zone3])

The double underscore (__) syntax is used all over the place when working with querysets.

I'm surprised that nobody seems to have ever mentioned that you can use XDocument / XElement which are available in .NET 4.0 and make it much easier to output XML.

How to activate "Share" button in android app?

Share Any File as below ( Kotlin ) :
first create a folder named xml in the res folder and create a new XML Resource File named provider_paths.xml and put the below code inside it :

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<paths xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android">
    <files-path
        name="files"
        path="."/>

    <external-path
        name="external_files"
        path="."/>
</paths>

now go to the manifests folder and open the AndroidManifest.xml and then put the below code inside the <application> tag :

<provider
android:name="androidx.core.content.FileProvider"
android:authorities="${applicationId}.provider"
android:exported="false"
android:grantUriPermissions="true">
<meta-data
    android:name="android.support.FILE_PROVIDER_PATHS"
    android:resource="@xml/provider_paths" /> // provider_paths.xml file path in this example
</provider>

now you put the below code in the setOnLongClickListener :

share_btn.setOnClickListener {
    try {
        val file = File("pathOfFile")
        if(file.exists()) {
            val uri = FileProvider.getUriForFile(this, BuildConfig.APPLICATION_ID + ".provider", file)
            val intent = Intent(Intent.ACTION_SEND)
            intent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_GRANT_READ_URI_PERMISSION)
            intent.setType("*/*")
            intent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, uri)
            intent.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK);
            startActivity(intent)
        }
    } catch (e: java.lang.Exception) {

Make a VStack fill the width of the screen in SwiftUI

I know this will not work for everyone, but I thought it interesting that just adding a Divider solves for this.

struct DividerTest: View {
var body: some View {
    VStack(alignment: .leading) {
        Text("Foo")
        Text("Bar")
        Divider()
    }.background(Color.red)
  }
}

Select every Nth element in CSS

As the name implies, :nth-child() allows you to construct an arithmetic expression using the n variable in addition to constant numbers. You can perform addition (+), subtraction (-) and coefficient multiplication (an where a is an integer, including positive numbers, negative numbers and zero).

Here's how you would rewrite the above selector list:

div:nth-child(4n)

For an explanation on how these arithmetic expressions work, see my answer to this question, as well as the spec.

Note that this answer assumes that all of the child elements within the same parent element are of the same element type, div. If you have any other elements of different types such as h1 or p, you will need to use :nth-of-type() instead of :nth-child() to ensure you only count div elements:

<body>
  <h1></h1>
  <div>1</div>  <div>2</div>
  <div>3</div>  <div>4</div>
  <h2></h2>
  <div>5</div>  <div>6</div>
  <div>7</div>  <div>8</div>
  <h2></h2>
  <div>9</div>  <div>10</div>
  <div>11</div> <div>12</div>
  <h2></h2>
  <div>13</div> <div>14</div>
  <div>15</div> <div>16</div>
</body>

For everything else (classes, attributes, or any combination of these), where you're looking for the nth child that matches an arbitrary selector, you will not be able to do this with a pure CSS selector. See my answer to this question.

By the way, there's not much of a difference between 4n and 4n + 4 with regards to :nth-child(). If you use the n variable, it starts counting at 0. This is what each selector would match:

:nth-child(4n)

4(0) = 0
4(1) = 4
4(2) = 8
4(3) = 12
4(4) = 16
...

:nth-child(4n+4)

4(0) + 4 = 0  + 4 = 4
4(1) + 4 = 4  + 4 = 8
4(2) + 4 = 8  + 4 = 12
4(3) + 4 = 12 + 4 = 16
4(4) + 4 = 16 + 4 = 20
...

As you can see, both selectors will match the same elements as above. In this case, there is no difference.

In MVC, how do I return a string result?

You can also just return string if you know that's the only thing the method will ever return. For example:

public string MyActionName() {
  return "Hi there!";
}

How to get a value from a cell of a dataframe?

Most answers are using iloc which is good for selection by position.

If you need selection-by-label loc would be more convenient.

For getting a value explicitly (equiv to deprecated df.get_value('a','A'))

# this is also equivalent to df1.at['a','A']
In [55]: df1.loc['a', 'A']
Out[55]: 0.13200317033032932

Is #pragma once a safe include guard?

Additional note to the people thinking that an automatic one-time-only inclusion of header files is always desired: I build code generators using double or multiple inclusion of header files since decades. Especially for generation of protocol library stubs I find it very comfortable to have a extremely portable and powerful code generator with no additional tools and languages. I'm not the only developer using this scheme as this blogs X-Macros show. This wouldn't be possible to do without the missing automatic guarding.

Convert list of ints to one number?

I found this thread while trying to convert a list to the real value of the underlying int in terms of a C-style pointer, but none of the other answers appear to work for this case. I think the following solution works as intended and could be useful to others even though it doesn't necessarily answer the original question.

def listToInt(x, reverseBytes=False):
  if reverseBytes:
    x = x[::-1]
  return reduce(lambda x,y: x*256+y, x)

listToInt([1, 249]) == 505

listToInt([249, 1], True) == 505

The primary value of this is to emulate the behavior of casting a byte array to another data type, e.g. uint16, which Python can't seem to do natively, on either a big or little endian system.

Getting Keyboard Input

You can also make it with BufferedReader if you want to validate user input, like this:

import java.io.BufferedReader;
import java.io.InputStreamReader;
class Areas {
    public static void main(String args[]){
        float PI = 3.1416f;
        int r=0;
        String rad; //We're going to read all user's text into a String and we try to convert it later
        BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); //Here you declare your BufferedReader object and instance it.
        System.out.println("Radius?");
        try{
            rad = br.readLine(); //We read from user's input
            r = Integer.parseInt(rad); //We validate if "rad" is an integer (if so we skip catch call and continue on the next line, otherwise, we go to it (catch call))
            System.out.println("Circle area is: " + PI*r*r + " Perimeter: " +PI*2*r); //If all was right, we print this
        }
        catch(Exception e){
            System.out.println("Write an integer number"); //This is what user will see if he/she write other thing that is not an integer
            Areas a = new Areas(); //We call this class again, so user can try it again
           //You can also print exception in case you want to see it as follows:
           // e.printStackTrace();
        }
    }
}

Because Scanner class won't allow you to do it, or not that easy...

And to validate you use "try-catch" calls.

What is the difference between getText() and getAttribute() in Selenium WebDriver?

getAttribute() -> It fetches the text that contains one of any attribute in the HTML tag. Suppose there is an HTML tag like

<input name="Name Locator" value="selenium">Hello</input>

Now getAttribute() fetches the data of the attribute of 'value', which is "Selenium".

Returns:

The attribute's current value or null if the value is not set.

driver.findElement(By.name("Name Locator")).getAttribute("value")  //

The field value is retrieved by the getAttribute("value") Selenium WebDriver predefined method and assigned to the String object.

getText() -> delivers the innerText of a WebElement. Get the visible (i.e. not hidden by CSS) innerText of this element, including sub-elements, without any leading or trailing whitespace.

Returns:

The innerText of this element.

driver.findElement(By.name("Name Locator")).getText();

'Hello' will appear

This solution does not require anchor tags but you do of course need to match the menu button (arbitrary attribute, 'ss' in example) with the destination element id in your html.

I was getting errors stating that no Route was found matching the submitted URI. Once I had both the [Route] decorating the method as well as [RoutePrefix] decorating the Controller as a whole, it worked.

How to handle a lost KeyStore password in Android?

In Ionic I was able to find it here: /app/platforms/android/app/build/intermediates/signing_config/release/out/signing-config.json

Maybe this will help someone. cheers.

_DEBUG vs NDEBUG

The macro NDEBUG controls whether assert() statements are active or not.

In my view, that is separate from any other debugging - so I use something other than NDEBUG to control debugging information in the program. What I use varies, depending on the framework I'm working with; different systems have different enabling macros, and I use whatever is appropriate.

If there is no framework, I'd use a name without a leading underscore; those tend to be reserved to 'the implementation' and I try to avoid problems with name collisions - doubly so when the name is a macro.

How to provide a mysql database connection in single file in nodejs

I think that you should use a connection pool instead of share a single connection. A connection pool would provide a much better performance, as you can check here.

As stated in the library documentation, it occurs because the MySQL protocol is sequential (this means that you need multiple connections to execute queries in parallel).

How do you detect the clearing of a "search" HTML5 input?

Found this post and I realize it's a bit old, but I think I might have an answer. This handles the click on the cross, backspacing and hitting the ESC key. I am sure it could probably be written better - I'm still relatively new to javascript. Here is what I ended up doing - I am using jQuery (v1.6.4):

var searchVal = ""; //create a global var to capture the value in the search box, for comparison later
$(document).ready(function() {
  $("input[type=search]").keyup(function(e) {
    if (e.which == 27) {  // catch ESC key and clear input
      $(this).val('');
    }
    if (($(this).val() === "" && searchVal != "") || e.which == 27) {
      // do something
      searchVal = "";
    }
    searchVal = $(this).val();
  });
  $("input[type=search]").click(function() {
    if ($(this).val() != filterVal) {
      // do something
      searchVal = "";
    }
  });
});

If you are using different aspx.cs files that define classes of the same name you can use

under <system.web> in your web.config file.

Although I would still strongly advise that you would change the class name.

What exactly is the function of Application.CutCopyMode property in Excel

By referring this(http://www.excelforum.com/excel-programming-vba-macros/867665-application-cutcopymode-false.html) link the answer is as below:

Application.CutCopyMode=False is seen in macro recorder-generated code when you do a copy/cut cells and paste . The macro recorder does the copy/cut and paste in separate statements and uses the clipboard as an intermediate buffer. I think Application.CutCopyMode = False clears the clipboard. Without that line you will get the warning 'There is a large amount of information on the Clipboard....' when you close the workbook with a large amount of data on the clipboard.

With optimised VBA code you can usually do the copy/cut and paste operations in one statement, so the clipboard isn't used and Application.CutCopyMode = False isn't needed and you won't get the warning.

Android + Pair devices via bluetooth programmatically

The Best way is do not use any pairing code. Instead of onClick go to other function or other class where You create the socket using UUID.
Android automatically pops up for pairing if already not paired.

or see this link for better understanding

Below is code for the same:

private OnItemClickListener mDeviceClickListener = new OnItemClickListener() {
    public void onItemClick(AdapterView<?> av, View v, int arg2, long arg3) {
        // Cancel discovery because it's costly and we're about to connect
        mBtAdapter.cancelDiscovery();

        // Get the device MAC address, which is the last 17 chars in the View
        String info = ((TextView) v).getText().toString();
        String address = info.substring(info.length() - 17);

        // Create the result Intent and include the MAC address
        Intent intent = new Intent();
        intent.putExtra(EXTRA_DEVICE_ADDRESS, address);

        // Set result and finish this Activity
        setResult(Activity.RESULT_OK, intent);

      // **add this 2 line code**
       Intent myIntent = new Intent(view.getContext(), Connect.class);

POST request send json data java HttpUrlConnection

Your JSON is not correct. Instead of

JSONObject cred = new JSONObject();
JSONObject auth=new JSONObject();
JSONObject parent=new JSONObject();
cred.put("username","adm");
cred.put("password", "pwd");
auth.put("tenantName", "adm");
auth.put("passwordCredentials", cred.toString()); // <-- toString()
parent.put("auth", auth.toString());              // <-- toString()

OutputStreamWriter wr= new OutputStreamWriter(con.getOutputStream());
wr.write(parent.toString());

write

JSONObject cred = new JSONObject();
JSONObject auth=new JSONObject();
JSONObject parent=new JSONObject();
cred.put("username","adm");
cred.put("password", "pwd");
auth.put("tenantName", "adm");
auth.put("passwordCredentials", cred);
parent.put("auth", auth);

OutputStreamWriter wr= new OutputStreamWriter(con.getOutputStream());
wr.write(parent.toString());

So, the JSONObject.toString() should be called only once for the outer object.

Another thing (most probably not your problem, but I'd like to mention it):

To be sure not to run into encoding problems, you should specify the encoding, if it is not UTF-8:

con.setRequestProperty("Content-Type", "application/json; charset=UTF-8");
con.setRequestProperty("Accept", "application/json");

// ...

OutputStream os = con.getOutputStream();
os.write(parent.toString().getBytes("UTF-8"));
os.close();

Isn't the size of character in Java 2 bytes?

There are some great answers here but I wanted to point out the jvm is free to store a char value in any size space >= 2 bytes.

On many architectures there is a penalty for performing unaligned memory access so a char might easily be padded to 4 bytes. A volatile char might even be padded to the size of the CPU cache line to prevent false sharing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_sharing

It might be non-intuitive to new Java programmers that a character array or a string is NOT simply multiple characters. You should learn and think about strings and arrays distinctly from "multiple characters".

I also want to point out that java characters are often misused. People don't realize they are writing code that won't properly handle codepoints over 16 bits in length.

How to use _CRT_SECURE_NO_WARNINGS

Check if a path represents a file or a folder

There is no way for the system to tell you if a String represent a file or directory, if it does not exist in the file system. For example:

Path path = Paths.get("/some/path/to/dir");
System.out.println(Files.isDirectory(path)); // return false
System.out.println(Files.isRegularFile(path)); // return false

And for the following example:

Path path = Paths.get("/some/path/to/dir/file.txt");
System.out.println(Files.isDirectory(path));  //return false
System.out.println(Files.isRegularFile(path));  // return false

So we see that in both case system return false. This is true for both java.io.File and java.nio.file.Path

Is there an onSelect event or equivalent for HTML <select>?

There are a few things you want to do here to make sure it remembers older values and triggers an onchange event even if the same option is selected again.

The first thing you want is a regular onChange event:

$("#selectbox").on("change", function(){
    console.log($(this).val());
    doSomething();
});

To have the onChange event trigger even when the same option is selected again, you can unset selected option when the dropdown receives focus by setting it to an invalid value. But you also want to store the previously selected value to restore it in case the user does not select any new option:

prev_select_option = ""; //some kind of global var

$("#selectbox").on("focus", function(){
    prev_select_option = $(this).val(); //store currently selected value
    $(this).val("unknown"); //set to an invalid value
});

The above code will allow you to trigger onchange even if the same value is selected. However, if the user clicks outside the select box, you want to restore the previous value. We do it on onBlur:

$("#selectbox").on("blur", function(){
    if ($(this).val() == null) {
       //because we previously set an invalid value
       //and user did not select any option
        $(this).val(prev_select_option);
    }
});

How do we change the URL of a working GitLab install?

There are detailed notes on this that helped me completely, located here.

Jonathon Reinhart has already answered with the key bit, to edit /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb, alter the external_url and then run sudo gitlab-ctl reconfigure; sudo gitlab-ctl restart

However I needed to go a bit further and docs I linked above explained it. So what I ended up with looks like:

external_url 'https://gitlab.toilethumor.com'
nginx['ssl_certificate'] = "/www/ssl/star_toilethumor.com-chained.crt"
nginx['ssl_certificate_key'] = "/www/ssl/star_toilethumor.com.key"
nginx['proxy_set_headers'] = {
 "X-Forwarded-Proto" => "http",
 "CUSTOM_HEADER" => "VALUE"
}

Above, I've explicitly declared where my SSL goodies are on this server. And that's of course followed by

sudo gitlab-ctl reconfigure
sudo gitlab-ctl restart

Also, when you switch the omnibus package to https, the bundled nginx will only serve on port 443. Since all my stuff is reached via reverse proxy, this part was potentially significant.

As I went through this, I screwed something up and it helpful to find the actual nginx logs, this lead me there:

sudo gitlab-ctl tail nginx

How to calculate Average Waiting Time and average Turn-around time in SJF Scheduling?

The Gantt charts given by Hifzan and Raja are for FCFS algorithms.

With an SJF algorithm, processes can be interrupted. That is, every process doesn't necessarily execute straight through their given burst time.

P3|P2|P4|P3|P5|P1|P5

1|2|3|5|7|8|11|14

P3 arrives at 1ms, then is interrupted by P2 and P4 since they both have smaller burst times, and then P3 resumes. P5 starts executing next, then is interrupted by P1 since P1's burst time is smaller than P5's. You must note the arrival times and be careful. These problems can be trickier than how they appear at-first-glance.

EDIT: This applies only to Preemptive SJF algorithms. A plain SJF algorithm is non-preemptive, meaning it does not interrupt a process.

How to change PHP version used by composer

I'm assuming Windows if you're using WAMP. Composer likely is just using the PHP set in your path: How to access PHP with the Command Line on Windows?

You should be able to change the path to PHP using the same instructions.

Otherwise, composer is just a PHAR file, you can download the PHAR and execute it using any PHP:

C:\full\path\to\php.exe C:\full\path\to\composer.phar install

Deleting elements from std::set while iterating

This is implementation dependent:

Standard 23.1.2.8:

The insert members shall not affect the validity of iterators and references to the container, and the erase members shall invalidate only iterators and references to the erased elements.

Maybe you could try this -- this is standard conforming:

for (auto it = numbers.begin(); it != numbers.end(); ) {
    if (*it % 2 == 0) {
        numbers.erase(it++);
    }
    else {
        ++it;
    }
}

Note that it++ is postfix, hence it passes the old position to erase, but first jumps to a newer one due to the operator.

2015.10.27 update: C++11 has resolved the defect. iterator erase (const_iterator position); return an iterator to the element that follows the last element removed (or set::end, if the last element was removed). So C++11 style is:

for (auto it = numbers.begin(); it != numbers.end(); ) {
    if (*it % 2 == 0) {
        it = numbers.erase(it);
    }
    else {
        ++it;
    }
}

How to get all Errors from ASP.Net MVC modelState?

I was able to do this using a little LINQ,

public static List<string> GetErrorListFromModelState
                                              (ModelStateDictionary modelState)
{
      var query = from state in modelState.Values
                  from error in state.Errors
                  select error.ErrorMessage;

      var errorList = query.ToList();
      return errorList;
}

The above method returns a list of validation errors.

CURL and HTTPS, "Cannot resolve host"

You may have to enable the HTTPS part:

curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, FALSE);
curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYHOST,  2);

And if you need to verify (authenticate yourself) you may need this too:

curl_setopt($c, CURLOPT_USERPWD, 'username:password');

Dynamically add child components in React

Firstly a warning: you should never tinker with DOM that is managed by React, which you are doing by calling ReactDOM.render(<SampleComponent ... />);

With React, you should use SampleComponent directly in the main App.

var App = require('./App.js');
var SampleComponent = require('./SampleComponent.js');
ReactDOM.render(<App/>, document.body);

The content of your Component is irrelevant, but it should be used like this:

var App = React.createClass({
    render: function() {
        return (
            <div>
                <h1>App main component! </h1>
                <SampleComponent name="SomeName"/>
            </div>
        );
    }
});

You can then extend your app component to use a list.

var App = React.createClass({
    render: function() {
        var componentList = [
            <SampleComponent name="SomeName1"/>,
            <SampleComponent name="SomeName2"/>
        ]; // Change this to get the list from props or state
        return (
            <div>
                <h1>App main component! </h1>
                {componentList}
            </div>
        );
    }
});

I would really recommend that you look at the React documentation then follow the "Get Started" instructions. The time you spend on that will pay off later.

Enter triggers button click

You can use javascript to block form submission until the appropriate time. A very crude example:

<form onsubmit='return false;' id='frmNoEnterSubmit' action="index.html">

    <input type='text' name='txtTest' />

    <input type='button' value='Submit'
        onclick='document.forms["frmNoEnterSubmit"].onsubmit=""; document.forms["frmNoEnterSubmit"].submit();' />

</form>

Pressing enter will still trigger the form to submit, but the javascript will keep it from actually submitting, until you actually press the button.

jQuery UI DatePicker to show year only

In 2018,

$('#datepicker').datepicker({
    format: "yyyy",
    weekStart: 1,
    orientation: "bottom",
    language: "{{ app.request.locale }}",
    keyboardNavigation: false,
    viewMode: "years",
    minViewMode: "years"
});

JavaScript - Use variable in string match

Although the match function doesn't accept string literals as regex patterns, you can use the constructor of the RegExp object and pass that to the String.match function:

var re = new RegExp(yyy, 'g');
xxx.match(re);

Any flags you need (such as /g) can go into the second parameter.

Query EC2 tags from within instance

Using the AWS 'user data' and 'meta data' APIs its possible to write a script which wraps puppet to start a puppet run with a custom cert name.

First start an aws instance with custom user data: 'role:webserver'

#!/bin/bash

# Find the name from the user data passed in on instance creation
USER=$(curl -s "http://169.254.169.254/latest/user-data")
IFS=':' read -ra UDATA <<< "$USER"

# Find the instance ID from the meta data api
ID=$(curl -s "http://169.254.169.254/latest/meta-data/instance-id")
CERTNAME=${UDATA[1]}.$ID.aws

echo "Running Puppet for certname: " $CERTNAME
puppet agent -t --certname=$CERTNAME

This calls puppet with a certname like 'webserver.i-hfg453.aws' you can then create a node manifest called 'webserver' and puppets 'fuzzy node matching' will mean it is used to provision all webservers.

This example assumes you build on a base image with puppet installed etc.

Benefits:

1) You don't have to pass round your credentials

2) You can be as granular as you like with the role configs.

"Error: Main method not found in class MyClass, please define the main method as..."

When you use the java command to run a Java application from the command line, e.g.,

java some.AppName arg1 arg2 ...

the command loads the class that you nominated and then looks for the entry point method called main. More specifically, it is looking for a method that is declared as follows:

package some;
public class AppName {
    ...
    public static void main(final String[] args) {
        // body of main method follows
        ...
    }
}

The specific requirements for the entry point method are:

  1. The method must be in the nominated class.
  2. The name of the method must be "main" with exactly that capitalization1.
  3. The method must be public.
  4. The method must be static 2.
  5. The method's return type must be void.
  6. The method must have exactly one argument and argument's type must be String[] 3.

(The argument may be declared using varargs syntax; e.g. String... args. See this question for more information. The String[] argument is used to pass the arguments from the command line, and is required even if your application takes no command-line arguments.)

If anyone of the above requirements is not satisfied, the java command will fail with some variant of the message:

Error: Main method not found in class MyClass, please define the main method as:
   public static void main(String[] args)
or a JavaFX application class must extend javafx.application.Application

Or, if you are running an extremely old version of Java:

java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main
Exception in thread "main"

If you encounter this error, check that you have a main method and that it satisfies all of the six requirements listed above.

1 - One really obscure variation of this is when one or more of the characters in "main" is NOT a LATIN-1 character … but a Unicode character that looks like the corresponding LATIN-1 character when displayed.

2 - Here is an explanation of why the method is required to be static.

3 - String must correspond to java.lang.String and not to a custom class named String hiding it.

For myself, I'd start with dumping both databases and diffing the dumps, but if you want automatically generated merge scripts, you're going to want to get a real tool.

} }

How to save local data in a Swift app?

The simplest solution if you are just storing two strings is NSUserDefaults, in Swift 3 this class has been renamed to just UserDefaults.

It's best to store your keys somewhere globally so that you can reuse them elsewhere in your code.

struct defaultsKeys {
    static let keyOne = "firstStringKey"
    static let keyTwo = "secondStringKey"
}

Swift 3.0, 4.0 & 5.0

// Setting

let defaults = UserDefaults.standard
defaults.set("Some String Value", forKey: defaultsKeys.keyOne)
defaults.set("Another String Value", forKey: defaultsKeys.keyTwo)

// Getting

let defaults = UserDefaults.standard
if let stringOne = defaults.string(forKey: defaultsKeys.keyOne) {
    print(stringOne) // Some String Value
}
if let stringTwo = defaults.string(forKey: defaultsKeys.keyTwo) {
    print(stringTwo) // Another String Value
}

Swift 2.0

// Setting

let defaults = NSUserDefaults.standardUserDefaults()
defaults.setObject("Some String Value", forKey: defaultsKeys.keyOne)
defaults.setObject("Another String Value", forKey: defaultsKeys.keyTwo)

// Getting

let defaults = NSUserDefaults.standardUserDefaults()
if let stringOne = defaults.stringForKey(defaultsKeys.keyOne) {
    print(stringOne) // Some String Value
}
if let stringTwo = defaults.stringForKey(defaultsKeys.keyTwo) {
    print(stringTwo) // Another String Value
}

For anything more serious than minor config, flags or base strings you should use some sort of persistent store - A popular option at the moment is Realm but you can also use SQLite or Apples very own CoreData.

How to validate white spaces/empty spaces? [Angular 2]

To avoid the form submition, just use required attr in the input fields.

<input type="text" required>

Or, after submit

When the form is submited, you can use str.trim() to remove white spaces form start and end of an string. I did a submit function to show you:

submitFunction(formData){

    if(!formData.foo){
        // launch an alert to say the user the field cannot be empty
        return false;
    }
    else
    {
        formData.foo = formData.foo.trim(); // removes white
        // do your logic here
        return true;
    }

}

Effect of using sys.path.insert(0, path) and sys.path(append) when loading modules

Because python checks in the directories in sequential order starting at the first directory in sys.path list, till it find the .py file it was looking for.

Ideally, the current directory or the directory of the script is the first always the first element in the list, unless you modify it, like you did. From documentation -

As initialized upon program startup, the first item of this list, path[0], is the directory containing the script that was used to invoke the Python interpreter. If the script directory is not available (e.g. if the interpreter is invoked interactively or if the script is read from standard input), path[0] is the empty string, which directs Python to search modules in the current directory first. Notice that the script directory is inserted before the entries inserted as a result of PYTHONPATH.

So, most probably, you had a .py file with the same name as the module you were trying to import from, in the current directory (where the script was being run from).

Also, a thing to note about ImportErrors , lets say the import error says - ImportError: No module named main - it doesn't mean the main.py is overwritten, no if that was overwritten we would not be having issues trying to read it. Its some module above this that got overwritten with a .py or some other file.

Example -

My directory structure looks like -

 - test
    - shared
         - __init__.py
         - phtest.py
  - testmain.py

Now From testmain.py , I call from shared import phtest , it works fine.

Now lets say I introduce a shared.py in test directory` , example -

 - test
    - shared
         - __init__.py
         - phtest.py
  - testmain.py
  - shared.py

Now when I try to do from shared import phtest from testmain.py , I will get the error -

ImportError: cannot import name 'phtest'

As you can see above, the file that is causing the issue is shared.py , not phtest.py .

What is App.config in C#.NET? How to use it?

At its simplest, the app.config is an XML file with many predefined configuration sections available and support for custom configuration sections. A "configuration section" is a snippet of XML with a schema meant to store some type of information.

Settings can be configured using built-in configuration sections such as connectionStrings or appSettings. You can add your own custom configuration sections; this is an advanced topic, but very powerful for building strongly-typed configuration files.

Web applications typically have a web.config, while Windows GUI/service applications have an app.config file.

Application-level config files inherit settings from global configuration files, e.g. the machine.config.

Reading from the App.Config

Connection strings have a predefined schema that you can use. Note that this small snippet is actually a valid app.config (or web.config) file:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<configuration>
    <connectionStrings>
        <add name="MyKey"
             connectionString="Data Source=localhost;Initial Catalog=ABC;"
             providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>
    </connectionStrings>
</configuration>

Once you have defined your app.config, you can read it in code using the ConfigurationManager class. Don't be intimidated by the verbose MSDN examples; it's actually quite simple.

string connectionString = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["MyKey"].ConnectionString;

Writing to the App.Config

Frequently changing the *.config files is usually not a good idea, but it sounds like you only want to perform one-time setup.

See: Change connection string & reload app.config at run time which describes how to update the connectionStrings section of the *.config file at runtime.

Note that ideally you would perform such configuration changes from a simple installer.

Location of the App.Config at Runtime

Q: Suppose I manually change some <value> in app.config, save it and then close it. Now when I go to my bin folder and launch the .exe file from here, why doesn't it reflect the applied changes?

A: When you compile an application, its app.config is copied to the bin directory1 with a name that matches your exe. For example, if your exe was named "test.exe", there should be a "text.exe.config" in your bin directory. You can change the configuration without a recompile, but you will need to edit the config file that was created at compile time, not the original app.config.

1: Note that web.config files are not moved, but instead stay in the same location at compile and deployment time. One exception to this is when a web.config is transformed.

.NET Core

New configuration options were introduced with .NET Core. The way that *.config files works does not appear to have changed, but developers are free to choose new, more flexible configuration paradigms.

How to format numbers as currency string?

A simple option for proper comma placement by reversing the string first and basic regexp.

String.prototype.reverse = function() {
    return this.split('').reverse().join('');
};

Number.prototype.toCurrency = function( round_decimal /*boolean*/ ) {
     // format decimal or round to nearest integer
     var n = this.toFixed( round_decimal ? 0 : 2 );

     // convert to a string, add commas every 3 digits from left to right
     // by reversing string
     return (n + '').reverse().replace( /(\d{3})(?=\d)/g, '$1,' ).reverse();
};

It means it's searching for a function that needs to be completed.

so, remove the if() part and modify the code or add an else() at the end which returns an int.

VBA Excel 2-Dimensional Arrays

Here's A generic VBA Array To Range function that writes an array to the sheet in a single 'hit' to the sheet. This is much faster than writing the data into the sheet one cell at a time in loops for the rows and columns... However, there's some housekeeping to do, as you must specify the size of the target range correctly.

This 'housekeeping' looks like a lot of work and it's probably rather slow: but this is 'last mile' code to write to the sheet, and everything is faster than writing to the worksheet. Or at least, so much faster that it's effectively instantaneous, compared with a read or write to the worksheet, even in VBA, and you should do everything you possibly can in code before you hit the sheet.

A major component of this is error-trapping that I used to see turning up everywhere . I hate repetitive coding: I've coded it all here, and - hopefully - you'll never have to write it again.

A VBA 'Array to Range' function

Public Sub ArrayToRange(rngTarget As Excel.Range, InputArray As Variant)
' Write an array to an Excel range in a single 'hit' to the sheet
' InputArray must be a 2-Dimensional structure of the form Variant(Rows, Columns)

' The target range is resized automatically to the dimensions of the array, with
' the top left cell used as the start point.

' This subroutine saves repetitive coding for a common VBA and Excel task.

' If you think you won't need the code that works around common errors (long strings
' and objects in the array, etc) then feel free to comment them out.

You will need the source for ArrayDimensions:

This API declaration is required in the module header:

Private Declare Sub CopyMemory Lib "kernel32" Alias "RtlMoveMemory" _
                   (Destination As Any, _
                    Source As Any, _
                    ByVal Length As Long)

...And here's the function itself:

Private Function ArrayDimensions(arr As Variant) As Integer
  '-----------------------------------------------------------------
  ' will return:
  ' -1 if not an array
  ' 0  if an un-dimmed array
  ' 1 or more indicating the number of dimensions of a dimmed array

Also: I would advise you to keep that declaration private. If you must make it a public Sub in another module, insert the Option Private Module statement in the module header. You really don't want your users calling any function with CopyMemoryoperations and pointer arithmetic.

How to update a plot in matplotlib?

You essentially have two options:

  1. Do exactly what you're currently doing, but call graph1.clear() and graph2.clear() before replotting the data. This is the slowest, but most simplest and most robust option.

  2. Instead of replotting, you can just update the data of the plot objects. You'll need to make some changes in your code, but this should be much, much faster than replotting things every time. However, the shape of the data that you're plotting can't change, and if the range of your data is changing, you'll need to manually reset the x and y axis limits.

To give an example of the second option:

import matplotlib.pyplot as plt
import numpy as np

x = np.linspace(0, 6*np.pi, 100)
y = np.sin(x)

# You probably won't need this if you're embedding things in a tkinter plot...
plt.ion()

fig = plt.figure()
ax = fig.add_subplot(111)
line1, = ax.plot(x, y, 'r-') # Returns a tuple of line objects, thus the comma

for phase in np.linspace(0, 10*np.pi, 500):
    line1.set_ydata(np.sin(x + phase))
    fig.canvas.draw()
    fig.canvas.flush_events()

Single quotes vs. double quotes in Python

I aim to minimize both pixels and surprise. I typically prefer ' in order to minimize pixels, but " instead if the string has an apostrophe, again to minimize pixels. For a docstring, however, I prefer """ over ''' because the latter is non-standard, uncommon, and therefore surprising. If now I have a bunch of strings where I used " per the above logic, but also one that can get away with a ', I may still use " in it to preserve consistency, only to minimize surprise.

Perhaps it helps to think of the pixel minimization philosophy in the following way. Would you rather that English characters looked like A B C or AA BB CC? The latter choice wastes 50% of the non-empty pixels.

I'm answering this so that I can find the solution when I have to google this error again.

Set project compile output path to path_of_the_project_folder/out. That's what is working today. The intellj documentation makes it seem like we can select any folder but that's not the case.

How to ignore PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException?

If the issue is a missing intermediate certificate, you can enable Oracle JRE to automatically download the missing intermediate certificate as explained in this answer.

Just set the Java system property -Dcom.sun.security.enableAIAcaIssuers=true

For this to work the server's certificate must provide the URI to the intermediate certificate (the certificate's issuer). As far as I can tell, this is what browsers do as well and should be just as secure - I'm not a security expert though.

Edit: If I recall correctly, this seems to work at least with Java 8 and is documented here for Java 9.

How to create Android Facebook Key Hash?

Here is complete details (For Windows)

1. Download OpenSSl either 3rd or 4th (with e will work better) based on your system 32bit or 64bit .

2. Extract the downloaded zip inside C directory

3. Open the extracted folder up to bin and copy the path ,it should be some thing like C:\openssl-0.9.8k_X64\bin\openssl (add \openssl at end)

4. (Get the path to the bin folder of Jdk ,if you know how,ignore this ) .

Open android studio ~file~Project Structure(ctrl+alt+shift+s) , select SDK location in left side panel ,copy the JDK location and add /bin to it

So final JDK Location will be like C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\jre\bin

we are following this method to get Jdk location because you might use embedded jdk like me

enter image description here

now you have OpenSSl location & JDK location

5. now we need debug keystore location , for that open C~>Users~>YourUserName~>.android there should be a file name debug.keystore ,now copy the path location ,it should be some thing like

C:\Users\Redman\.android\debug.keystore

6. now open command prompt and type command

cd YourJDKLocationFromStep4

in my case

 cd "C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\jre\bin"

7. now construct the following command

keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore YOURKEYSTORELOCATION | YOUROPENSSLLOCATION sha1 -binary | YOUROPENSSLLOCATION base64

in my case the command will look like

keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore "C:\Users\Redman\.android\debug.keystore" | "C:\openssl-0.9.8k_X64\bin\openssl" sha1 -binary | "C:\openssl-0.9.8k_X64\bin\openssl" base64

now enter this command in command prompt , if you did ever thing right you will be asked for password (password is android)

Enter keystore password:  android

thats it ,you will be given the Key Hash , just copy it and use it

For Signed KeyHash construct the following Command

keytool -exportcert -alias YOUR_ALIAS_FOR_JKS -keystore YOUR_JKS_LOCATION | YOUROPENSSLLOCATION sha1 -binary | YOUROPENSSLLOCATION base64

enter your keystore password , If you enter wrong password it will give wrong KeyHash

NOTE

If for some reason if it gives error at some path then wrap that path in double quotes .Also Windows power shell was not working well for me, I used git bash (or use command prompt) .

example

keytool -exportcert -alias androiddebugkey -keystore "C:\Users\Redman\.android\debug.keystore" | "C:\openssl-0.9.8k_X64\bin\openssl" sha1 -binary | "C:\openssl-0.9.8k_X64\bin\openssl" base64

How do I use variables in Oracle SQL Developer?

Simple answer NO.

However you can achieve something similar by running the following version using bind variables:

SELECT * FROM Employees WHERE EmployeeID = :EmpIDVar

Once you run the query above in SQL Developer you will be prompted to enter value for the bind variable EmployeeID.

ASP.NET jQuery Ajax Calling Code-Behind Method

Firstly, you probably want to add a return false; to the bottom of your Submit() method in JavaScript (so it stops the submit, since you're handling it in AJAX).

You're connecting to the complete event, not the success event - there's a significant difference and that's why your debugging results aren't as expected. Also, I've never made the signature methods match yours, and I've always provided a contentType and dataType. For example:

$.ajax({
        type: "POST",
        url: "Default.aspx/OnSubmit",
        data: dataValue,
        contentType: 'application/json; charset=utf-8',
        dataType: 'json',
        error: function (XMLHttpRequest, textStatus, errorThrown) {
            alert("Request: " + XMLHttpRequest.toString() + "\n\nStatus: " + textStatus + "\n\nError: " + errorThrown);
        },
        success: function (result) {
            alert("We returned: " + result);
        }
    });

How to test an SQL Update statement before running it?

Not a direct answer, but I've seen many borked prod data situations that could have been avoided by typing the WHERE clause first! Sometimes a WHERE 1 = 0 can help with putting a working statement together safely too. And looking at an estimated execution plan, which will estimate rows affected, can be useful. Beyond that, in a transaction that you roll back as others have said.

selecting rows with id from another table

You can use a subquery:

SELECT *
FROM terms
WHERE id IN (SELECT term_id FROM terms_relation WHERE taxonomy='categ');

and if you need to show all columns from both tables:

SELECT t.*, tr.*
FROM terms t, terms_relation tr
WHERE t.id = tr.term_id
AND tr.taxonomy='categ'

How to log cron jobs?

There are at least three different types of logging:

  1. The logging BEFORE the program is executed, which only logs IF the cronjob TRIED to execute the command. That one is located in /var/log/syslog, as already mentioned by @Matthew Lock.

  2. The logging of errors AFTER the program tried to execute, which can be sent to an email or to a file, as mentioned by @Spliffster. I prefer logging to a file, because with email THEN you have a NEW source of problems, and its checking if email sending and reception is working perfectly. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not. For example, in a simple common desktop machine in which you are not interested in configuring an smtp, sometimes you will prefer logging to a file:

     * * * *  COMMAND_ABSOLUTE_PATH > /ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_LOG 2>&1

    • I would also consider checking the permissions of /ABSOLUTE_PATH_TO_LOG, and run the command from that user's permissions. Just for verification, while you test whether it might be a potential source of problems.
  3. The logging of the program itself, with its own error-handling and logging for tracking purposes.

There are some common sources of problems with cronjobs: * The ABSOLUTE PATH of the binary to be executed. When you run it from your shell, it might work, but the cron process seems to use another environment, and hence it doesn't always find binaries if you don't use the absolute path. * The LIBRARIES used by a binary. It's more or less the same previous point, but make sure that, if simply putting the NAME of the command, is referring to exactly the binary which uses the very same library, or better, check if the binary you are referring with the absolute path is the very same you refer when you use the console directly. The binaries can be found using the locate command, for example:

$locate python

Be sure that the binary you will refer, is the very same the binary you are calling in your shell, or simply test again in your shell using the absolute path that you plan to put in the cronjob.

  • Another common source of problems is the syntax in the cronjob. Remember that there are special characters you can use for lists (commas), to define ranges (dashes -), to define increment of ranges (slashes), etc. Take a look: http://www.softpanorama.org/Utilities/cron.shtml

Just to be extra, I'm adding another table for urlencode() vs rawurlencode(). The only difference seems to be the encoding of space character.

    isDecayed: boolean;
}

interface Apple extends Fruit {
    color: string;
}

interface Pear extends Fruit {
    weight: number;
}

interface FruitBasket {
    apples: Apple[];
    pears: Pear[];
}

const fruitBasket: FruitBasket = { apples: [], pears: [] };
const key: keyof FruitBasket = Math.random() > 0.5 ? 'apples': 'pears';
const fruits: Fruit[] = fruitBasket[key];

const freshFruits = fruits.filter((fruit) => !fruit.isDecayed);

How to transform currentTimeMillis to a readable date format?

There is a simpler way in Android

 DateFormat.getInstance().format(currentTimeMillis);

Moreover, Date is deprecated, so use DateFormat class.

   DateFormat.getDateInstance().format(new Date(0));
   DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance().format(new Date(0));
   DateFormat.getTimeInstance().format(new Date(0));

The above three lines will give:

Dec 31, 1969
Dec 31, 1969 4:00:00 PM
4:00:00 PM  12:00:00 AM

How to get on scroll events?

Listen to window:scroll event for window/document level scrolling and element's scroll event for element level scrolling.

window:scroll

@HostListener('window:scroll', ['$event'])
onWindowScroll($event) {

}

or

<div (window:scroll)="onWindowScroll($event)">

scroll

@HostListener('scroll', ['$event'])
onElementScroll($event) {

}

or

<div (scroll)="onElementScroll($event)">

@HostListener('scroll', ['$event']) won't work if the host element itself is not scroll-able.

Examples

Getting full-size profile picture

I think I use the simplest method to get the full profile picture. You can get full profile picture or you can set the profile picture dimension yourself:

$facebook->api(me?fields=picture.width(800).height(800))

You can set width and height as per your need. Though Facebook doesn't return the exact size asked for, It returns the closest dimension picture available with them.

Best way to initialize (empty) array in PHP

What you're doing is 100% correct.

In terms of nice naming it's often done that private/protected properties are preceded with an underscore to make it obvious that they're not public. E.g. private $_arr = array() or public $arr = array()

Display image as grayscale using matplotlib

Try to use a grayscale colormap?

E.g. something like

imshow(..., cmap=pyplot.cm.binary)

For a list of colormaps, see http://scipy-cookbook.readthedocs.org/items/Matplotlib_Show_colormaps.html

What is the reason for java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No enum const class even though iterating through values() works just fine?

I had parsing enum problem when i was trying to pass Nullable Enum that we get from Backend. Of course it was working when we get value, but it was problem when the null comes up.

java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No enum constant

Also the problem was when we at Parcelize read moment write some short if.

My solution for this was

1.Create companion object with parsing method.

enum class CarsType {
    @Json(name = "SMALL")
    SMALL,
    @Json(name = "BIG")
    BIG;

    companion object {
        fun nullableValueOf(name: String?) = when (name) {
            null -> null
            else -> valueOf(name)
        }
    }
}

2. In Parcerable read place use it like this

data class CarData(
    val carId: String? = null,
    val carType: CarsType?,
    val data: String?
) : Parcelable {
    constructor(parcel: Parcel) : this(
        parcel.readString(),
        CarsType.nullableValueOf(parcel.readString()),
        parcel.readString())

"Strict Standards: Only variables should be passed by reference" error

I had a similar problem.

I think the problem is that when you try to enclose two or more functions that deals with an array type of variable, php will return an error.

Let's say for example this one.

$data = array('key1' => 'Robert', 'key2' => 'Pedro', 'key3' => 'Jose');

// This function returns the last key of an array (in this case it's $data)
$lastKey = array_pop(array_keys($data));

// Output is "key3" which is the last array.
// But php will return “Strict Standards: Only variables should
// be passed by reference” error.
// So, In order to solve this one... is that you try to cut
// down the process one by one like this.

$data1  = array_keys($data);
$lastkey = array_pop($data1);

echo $lastkey;

There you go!

jQuery UI Dialog - missing close icon

This is a comment on the top answer, but I felt it was worth its own answer because it helped me answer the problem.

If you want to keep Bootstrap declared after JQuery UI (I did because I wanted to use the Bootstrap tooltip), declaring the following (I declared it after $(document).ready) will allow the button to appear again (answer from https://stackoverflow.com/a/23428433/4660870)

var bootstrapButton = $.fn.button.noConflict() // return $.fn.button to previously assigned value
$.fn.bootstrapBtn = bootstrapButton            // give $().bootstrapBtn the Bootstrap functionality

How to import/include a CSS file using PHP code and not HTML code?

You have to surround the CSS with a <style> tag:

<?php include 'header.php'; ?>
<style>
<?php include 'CSS/main.css'; ?>
</style>
...

PHP include works fine with .css ending too. In this way you can even use PHP in your CSS file. That can be really helpful to organize e.g. colors as variables.

Specify system property to Maven project

properties-maven-plugin plugin may help:

<plugin>
    <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId>
    <artifactId>properties-maven-plugin</artifactId>

    <executions>
        <execution>

How to remove array element in mongodb?

To remove all array elements irrespective of any given id, use this:

collection.update(
  { },
  { $pull: { 'contact.phone': { number: '+1786543589455' } } }
);

Getting strings recognized as variable names in R

What works best for me is using quote() and eval() together.

For example, let's print each column using a for loop:

Columns <- names(dat)
for (i in 1:ncol(dat)){
  dat[, eval(quote(Columns[i]))] %>% print
}

Clicking submit button of an HTML form by a Javascript code

document.getElementById('loginSubmit').submit();

or, use the same code as the onclick handler:

changeAction('submitInput','loginForm');
document.forms['loginForm'].submit();

(Though that onclick handler is kind of stupidly-written: document.forms['loginForm'] could be replaced with this.)
