Programs & Examples On #Iis 5

IIS (Internet Information Services) Version 5 – is a web server application and a set of feature extension modules created by Microsoft for use with Microsoft Windows. Released with Windows 2000.

How to deploy ASP.NET webservice to IIS 7?

  1. rebuild project in VS
  2. copy project folder to iis folder, probably C:\inetpub\wwwroot\
  3. in iis manager (run>inetmgr) add website, point to folder, point application pool based on your .net
  4. add web service to created website, almost the same as 3.
  5. INSTALL ASP for windows 7 and .net 4.0: c:\windows\microsoft.net framework\v4.(some numbers)\regiis.exe -i
  6. check access to web service on your browser

JQuery create a form and add elements to it programmatically

Using Jquery

Rather than creating temp variables it can be written in a continuous flow pattern as follows:

$('</form>', { action: url, method: 'POST' }).append(
    $('<input>', {type: 'hidden', id: 'id_field_1', name: 'name_field_1', value: val_field_1}),
    $('<input>', {type: 'hidden', id: 'id_field_2', name: 'name_field_2', value: val_field_2}),
).appendTo('body').submit();

Executing periodic actions in Python

This will insert a 10 second sleep in between every call to foo(), which is approximately what you asked for should the call complete quickly.

import time

while True:
    foo()
    time.sleep(10)

To do other things while your foo() is being called in a background thread

import time
import sys
import threading

def foo():
    sys.stdout.write('({}) foo\n'.format(time.ctime()))

def foo_target():
    while True:
        foo()
        time.sleep(10)

t = threading.Thread(target=foo_target)
t.daemon = True
t.start()
print('doing other things...')

Single huge .css file vs. multiple smaller specific .css files?

A bundled stylesheet may save page load performance but the more styles there are the slower the browser renders animations on the page you are on. This is caused by the huge amount of unused styles that may not be on the page you are on but the browser still has to calculate.

See: https://benfrain.com/css-performance-revisited-selectors-bloat-expensive-styles/

Bundled stylesheets advantages: - page load performance

Bundled stylesheets disadvantages: - slower behaviour, which can cause choppyness during scrolling, interactivity, animation,

Conclusion: To solve both problems, for production the ideal solution is to bundle all the css into one file to save on http requests, but use javascript to extract from that file, the css for the page you are on and update the head with it.

To know which shared components are needed per page, and to reduce complexity, it would be nice to have declared all the components this particular page uses - for example:

<style href="global.css" rel="stylesheet"/>
<body data-shared-css-components="x,y,z">

Regular expression for letters, numbers and - _

Something like this should work

$code = "screen new file.css";
if (!preg_match("/^[-_a-zA-Z0-9.]+$/", $code))
{
    echo "not valid";
}

This will echo "not valid"

Remove characters from NSString?

All above will works fine. But the right method is this:

yourString = [yourString stringByTrimmingCharactersInSet:[NSCharacterSet whitespaceCharacterSet]];

It will work like a TRIM method. It will remove all front and back spaces.

Thanks

Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated

& is used in PHP to pass an object to a method / assign a new object to a variable by reference. It is deprecated in PHP 5 because PHP 5 passes all objects by reference by default.

does linux shell support list data structure?

For make a list, simply do that

colors=(red orange white "light gray")

Technically is an array, but - of course - it has all list features.
Even python list are implemented with array

What is the difference between Class.getResource() and ClassLoader.getResource()?

Another more efficient way to do is just use @Value

@Value("classpath:sss.json")
private Resource resource;

and after that you can just get the file this way

File file = resource.getFile();

Where are the Properties.Settings.Default stored?

it is saved in your Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data......etc search for a file called user.config there

the location may change however.

LaTeX table too wide. How to make it fit?

Use p{width} column specifier: e.g. \begin{tabular}{ l p{10cm} } will put column's content into 10cm-wide parbox, and the text will be properly broken to several lines, like in normal paragraph.

You can also use tabular* environment to specify width for the entire table.

Custom seekbar (thumb size, color and background)

You can use the official Slider in the Material Components Library.

Use the app:trackHeight="xxdp" (default value is 4dp) to change the height of the track bar.

Also use these attributes to customize the colors:

  • app:activeTrackColor: the active track color
  • app:inactiveTrackColor: the inactive track color
  • app:thumbColor: to fill the thumb

Something like:

    <com.google.android.material.slider.Slider
        android:id="@+id/slider"
        android:layout_width="wrap_content"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        app:activeTrackColor="#ffd400"
        app:inactiveTrackColor="#e7e7e7"
        app:thumbColor="#ffb300"
        app:trackHeight="12dp"
        .../>

enter image description here

It requires the version 1.2.0 of the library.

How to use continue in jQuery each() loop?

return or return false are not the same as continue. If the loop is inside a function the remainder of the function will not execute as you would expect with a true "continue".

optional parameters in SQL Server stored proc?

CREATE PROCEDURE MyProcName
    @Parameter1 INT = 1,
    @Parameter2 VARCHAR (100) = 'StringValue',
    @Parameter3 VARCHAR (100) = NULL
AS

/* check for the NULL / default value (indicating nothing was passed */

    /* whatever code you desire for a missing parameter*/
    INSERT INTO ........
END

/* and use it in the query as so*/

Xml Parsing in C#

First add an Enrty and Category class:

public class Entry {     public string Id { get; set; }     public string Title { get; set; }     public string Updated { get; set; }     public string Summary { get; set; }     public string GPoint { get; set; }     public string GElev { get; set; }     public List<string> Categories { get; set; } }  public class Category {     public string Label { get; set; }     public string Term { get; set; } }

Then use LINQ to XML

XDocument xDoc = XDocument.Load("path");          List<Entry> entries = (from x in xDoc.Descendants("entry")             select new Entry()             {                 Id = (string) x.Element("id"),                 Title = (string)x.Element("title"),                 Updated = (string)x.Element("updated"),                 Summary = (string)x.Element("summary"),                 GPoint = (string)x.Element("georss:point"),                 GElev = (string)x.Element("georss:elev"),                 Categories = (from c in x.Elements("category")                                   select new Category                                   {                                       Label = (string)c.Attribute("label"),                                       Term = (string)c.Attribute("term")                                   }).ToList();             }).ToList();

What is the easiest way to encrypt a password when I save it to the registry?

..NET provides cryptographics services in class contained in the System.Security.Cryptography namespace.

Convert object array to hash map, indexed by an attribute value of the Object

You can use Array.prototype.reduce() and actual JavaScript Map instead just a JavaScript Object.

let keyValueObjArray = [
  { key: 'key1', val: 'val1' },
  { key: 'key2', val: 'val2' },
  { key: 'key3', val: 'val3' }
];

let keyValueMap = keyValueObjArray.reduce((mapAccumulator, obj) => {
  // either one of the following syntax works
  // mapAccumulator[obj.key] = obj.val;
  mapAccumulator.set(obj.key, obj.val);

  return mapAccumulator;
}, new Map());

console.log(keyValueMap);
console.log(keyValueMap.size);

What is different between Map And Object?
Previously, before Map was implemented in JavaScript, Object has been used as a Map because of their similar structure.
Depending on your use case, if u need to need to have ordered keys, need to access the size of the map or have frequent addition and removal from the map, a Map is preferable.

Quote from MDN document:
Objects are similar to Maps in that both let you set keys to values, retrieve those values, delete keys, and detect whether something is stored at a key. Because of this (and because there were no built-in alternatives), Objects have been used as Maps historically; however, there are important differences that make using a Map preferable in certain cases:

  • The keys of an Object are Strings and Symbols, whereas they can be any value for a Map, including functions, objects, and any primitive.
  • The keys in Map are ordered while keys added to object are not. Thus, when iterating over it, a Map object returns keys in order of insertion.
  • You can get the size of a Map easily with the size property, while the number of properties in an Object must be determined manually.
  • A Map is an iterable and can thus be directly iterated, whereas iterating over an Object requires obtaining its keys in some fashion and iterating over them.
  • An Object has a prototype, so there are default keys in the map that could collide with your keys if you're not careful. As of ES5 this can be bypassed by using map = Object.create(null), but this is seldom done.
  • A Map may perform better in scenarios involving frequent addition and removal of key pairs.

Is it possible to set ENV variables for rails development environment in my code?

The system environment and rails' environment are different things. ENV let's you work with the rails' environment, but if what you want to do is to change the system's environment in runtime you can just surround the command with backticks.

# ruby code
`export admin_password="secret"`

Flask at first run: Do not use the development server in a production environment

The official tutorial discusses deploying an app to production. One option is to use Waitress, a production WSGI server. Other servers include Gunicorn and uWSGI.

When running publicly rather than in development, you should not use the built-in development server (flask run). The development server is provided by Werkzeug for convenience, but is not designed to be particularly efficient, stable, or secure.

Instead, use a production WSGI server. For example, to use Waitress, first install it in the virtual environment:

$ pip install waitress

You need to tell Waitress about your application, but it doesn’t use FLASK_APP like flask run does. You need to tell it to import and call the application factory to get an application object.

$ waitress-serve --call 'flaskr:create_app'
Serving on http://0.0.0.0:8080

Or you can use waitress.serve() in the code instead of using the CLI command.

from flask import Flask

app = Flask(__name__)

@app.route("/")
def index():
    return "<h1>Hello!</h1>"

if __name__ == "__main__":
    from waitress import serve
    serve(app, host="0.0.0.0", port=8080)
$ python hello.py

How to resize datagridview control when form resizes

If anyone else is stuck with this, here's what helped me. Changing the Anchor settings did not work for me. I am using datagridviews within groupboxes in a form which is inside a parent form.

Handling the form resize event was the only thing that worked for me.

private void Form1_Resize(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
     groupBoxSampleQueue.MinimumSize = new Size((this as OperatingForm).Width - 22, 167);
     groupBoxMachineStatus.MinimumSize = new Size((this as OperatingForm).Width - 22, 167);
}

I added some raw numbers as buffers.

How to write a simple Html.DropDownListFor()?

Avoid of lot of fat fingering by starting with a Dictionary in the Model

namespace EzPL8.Models
{
    public class MyEggs
    {
        public Dictionary<int, string> Egg { get; set; }

        public MyEggs()
        {
            Egg = new Dictionary<int, string>()
            {
                { 0, "No Preference"},
                { 1, "I hate eggs"},
                { 2, "Over Easy"},
                { 3, "Sunny Side Up"},
                { 4, "Scrambled"},
                { 5, "Hard Boiled"},
                { 6, "Eggs Benedict"}
            };

    }

    }

In the View convert it to a list for display

@Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.Egg.Keys,
                         new SelectList(
                             Model.Egg,
                             "Key",
                             "Value"))

seek() function?

For strings, forget about using WHENCE: use f.seek(0) to position at beginning of file and f.seek(len(f)+1) to position at the end of file. Use open(file, "r+") to read/write anywhere in a file. If you use "a+" you'll only be able to write (append) at the end of the file regardless of where you position the cursor.

A html space is showing as %2520 instead of %20

When you are trying to visit a local filename through firefox browser, you have to force the file:\\\ protocol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_URI_scheme) or else firefox will encode your space TWICE. Change the html snippet from this:

<img src="C:\Documents and Settings\screenshots\Image01.png"/>

to this:

<img src="file:\\\C:\Documents and Settings\screenshots\Image01.png"/>

or this:

<img src="file://C:\Documents and Settings\screenshots\Image01.png"/>

Then firefox is notified that this is a local filename, and it renders the image correctly in the browser, correctly encoding the string once.

Sublime 3 - Set Key map for function Goto Definition

For anyone else who wants to set Eclipse style goto definition, you need to create .sublime-mousemap file in Sublime User folder.

Windows - create Default (Windows).sublime-mousemap in %appdata%\Sublime Text 3\Packages\User

Linux - create Default (Linux).sublime-mousemap in ~/.config/sublime-text-3/Packages/User

Mac - create Default (OSX).sublime-mousemap in ~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 3/Packages/User

Now open that file and put the following configuration inside

[
    {
        "button": "button1",
        "count": 1,
        "modifiers": ["ctrl"],
        "press_command": "drag_select",
        "command": "goto_definition"
    }
]

You can change modifiers key as you like.

Since Ctrl-button1 on Windows and Linux is used for multiple selections, adding a second modifier key like Alt might be a good idea if you want to use both features:

[
    {
        "button": "button1",
        "count": 1,
        "modifiers": ["ctrl", "alt"],
        "press_command": "drag_select",
        "command": "goto_definition"
    }
]

Alternatively, you could use the right mouse button (button2) with Ctrl alone, and not interfere with any built-in functions.

iptables block access to port 8000 except from IP address

Another alternative is;

sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 8000 -s ! 1.2.3.4 -j DROP

I had similar issue that 3 bridged virtualmachine just need access eachother with different combination, so I have tested this command and it works well.

Convert INT to FLOAT in SQL

In oracle db there is a trick for casting int to float (I suppose, it should also work in mysql):

select myintfield + 0.0 as myfloatfield from mytable

While @Heximal's answer works, I don't personally recommend it.

This is because it uses implicit casting. Although you didn't type CAST, either the SUM() or the 0.0 need to be cast to be the same data-types, before the + can happen. In this case the order of precedence is in your favour, and you get a float on both sides, and a float as a result of the +. But SUM(aFloatField) + 0 does not yield an INT, because the 0 is being implicitly cast to a FLOAT.

I find that in most programming cases, it is much preferable to be explicit. Don't leave things to chance, confusion, or interpretation.

If you want to be explicit, I would use the following.

CAST(SUM(sl.parts) AS FLOAT) * cp.price
-- using MySQL CAST FLOAT requires 8.0

I won't discuss whether NUMERIC or FLOAT *(fixed point, instead of floating point)* is more appropriate, when it comes to rounding errors, etc. I'll just let you google that if you need to, but FLOAT is so massively misused that there is a lot to read about the subject already out there.

You can try the following to see what happens...

CAST(SUM(sl.parts) AS NUMERIC(10,4)) * CAST(cp.price AS NUMERIC(10,4))

How do I change Eclipse to use spaces instead of tabs?

When I faced this problem I had "use spaces for tabs" set to true everywhere I could find, and yet I was still getting tabs. It ended up being because tabs were used elsewhere in the file and it was trying to do smart indentation or something frustrating.

It was resolved by selecting the entire contents of the file and pressing, on a mac, command+shift+f. This applies the given formatting to a file. I do not know the same keybinding on windows, but give that a try. At that point I begin getting the expected behavior.

How to convert hashmap to JSON object in Java

I faced a similar problem when deserializing the Response from custom commands in selenium. The response was json, but selenium internally translates that into a java.util.HashMap[String, Object]

If you are familiar with scala and use the play-API for JSON, you might benefit from this:

import play.api.libs.json.{JsValue, Json}
import scala.collection.JavaConversions.mapAsScalaMap

object JsonParser {

  def parse(map: Map[String, Any]): JsValue = {
    val values = for((key, value) <- map) yield {
      value match {
        case m: java.util.Map[String, _] @unchecked => Json.obj(key -> parse(m.toMap))
        case m: Map[String, _] @unchecked => Json.obj(key -> parse(m))
        case int: Int => Json.obj(key -> int)
        case str: String => Json.obj(key -> str)
        case bool: Boolean => Json.obj(key -> bool)
      }
    }

    values.foldLeft(Json.obj())((temp, obj) => {
      temp.deepMerge(obj)
    })
  }
}

Small code description:

The code recursively traverses through the HashMap until basic types (String, Integer, Boolean) are found. These basic types can be directly wrapped into a JsObject. When the recursion is unfolded, the deepmerge concatenates the created objects.

'@unchecked' takes care of type erasure warnings.

How to rsync only a specific list of files?

This answer is not the direct answer for the question. But it should help you figure out which solution fits best for your problem.

When analysing the problem you should activate the debug option -vv

Then rsync will output which files are included or excluded by which pattern:

building file list ...
[sender] hiding file FILE1 because of pattern FILE1*
[sender] showing file FILE2 because of pattern *

android.content.Context.getPackageName()' on a null object reference

Due to onAttach is deprecated in API23 and above... In my Fragment, I declare and set parentActivity before hand everytime when I go into Fragment. Most likely happen due to when we pressed back button caused the context to become null. Therefore below is my solution.

private Activity parentActivity;

public void onStart(){
        super.onStart();
        parentActivity = getActivity();

Hibernate: hbm2ddl.auto=update in production?

We do it in production albeit with an application that's not mission critical and with no highly paid DBAs on staff. It's just one less manual process that's subject to human error - the application can detect the difference and do the right thing, plus you've presumably tested it in various development and test environments.

One caveat - in a clustered environment you may want to avoid it because multiple apps can come up at the same time and try to modify the schema which could be bad. Or put in some mechanism where only one instance is allowed to update the schema.

Change x axes scale in matplotlib

The scalar formatter supports collecting the exponents. The docs are as follows:

class matplotlib.ticker.ScalarFormatter(useOffset=True, useMathText=False, useLocale=None) Bases: matplotlib.ticker.Formatter

Tick location is a plain old number. If useOffset==True and the data range is much smaller than the data average, then an offset will be determined such that the tick labels are meaningful. Scientific notation is used for data < 10^-n or data >= 10^m, where n and m are the power limits set using set_powerlimits((n,m)). The defaults for these are controlled by the axes.formatter.limits rc parameter.

your technique would be:

from matplotlib.ticker import ScalarFormatter
xfmt = ScalarFormatter()
xfmt.set_powerlimits((-3,3))  # Or whatever your limits are . . .
{{ Make your plot }}
gca().xaxis.set_major_formatter(xfmt)

To get the exponent displayed in the format x10^5, instantiate the ScalarFormatter with useMathText=True.

After Image

You could also use:

xfmt.set_useOffset(10000)

To get a result like this:

How to read integer values from text file

How large are the values? Java 6 has Scanner class that can read anything from int (32 bit), long (64-bit) to BigInteger (arbitrary big integer).

For Java 5 or 4, Scanner is there, but no support for BigInteger. You have to read line by line (with readLine of Scanner class) and create BigInteger object from the String.

Task.Run with Parameter(s)?

Just use Task.Run

var task = Task.Run(() =>
{
    //this will already share scope with rawData, no need to use a placeholder
});

Or, if you would like to use it in a method and await the task later

public Task<T> SomethingAsync<T>()
{
    var task = Task.Run(() =>
    {
        //presumably do something which takes a few ms here
        //this will share scope with any passed parameters in the method
        return default(T);
    });

    return task;
}

Bootstrap full responsive navbar with logo or brand name text

The placeholder image you're including has a height of 50px. It is wrapped in an anchor (.navbar-brand) with a padding-top of 15px and a height of 50px. That's why the placeholder logo flows out of the bar. Try including a smaller image or play with the anchor's padding by assigning a class or an id to it wich you can reference in your css.

EDIT Or remove the static height: 50px from .navbar-brand. Your navbar will then take the height of its highest child.

h3 in bootstrap by default has a padding-top of 20px. Again, it is wrapped with that padding-top: 15px anchor. That's why it's not vertically centered like you want it. You could give the h3 a class or and id that resets the margin-top. And the same you could do with the padding of the anchor.

Here's something to play with: http://jsbin.com/jelec/1/edit?html,output

How do I implement interfaces in python?

interface supports Python 2.7 and Python 3.4+.

To install interface you have to

pip install python-interface

Example Code:

from interface import implements, Interface

class MyInterface(Interface):

    def method1(self, x):
        pass

    def method2(self, x, y):
        pass

class MyClass(implements(MyInterface)):

    def method1(self, x):
        return x * 2

    def method2(self, x, y):
        return x + y

Updating a dataframe column in spark

While you cannot modify a column as such, you may operate on a column and return a new DataFrame reflecting that change. For that you'd first create a UserDefinedFunction implementing the operation to apply and then selectively apply that function to the targeted column only. In Python:

from pyspark.sql.functions import UserDefinedFunction
from pyspark.sql.types import StringType

name = 'target_column'
udf = UserDefinedFunction(lambda x: 'new_value', StringType())
new_df = old_df.select(*[udf(column).alias(name) if column == name else column for column in old_df.columns])

new_df now has the same schema as old_df (assuming that old_df.target_column was of type StringType as well) but all values in column target_column will be new_value.

Image resolution for mdpi, hdpi, xhdpi and xxhdpi

Your inputs lack one important information of device dimension. Suppose now popular phone is 6 inch(the diagonal of the display), you will have following results

enter image description here

DPI: Dots per inch - number of dots(pixels) per segment(line) of 1 inch. DPI=Diagonal/Device size

Scaling Ratio= Real DPI/160. 160 is basic density (MHDPI)

DP: (Density-independent Pixel)=1/160 inch, think of it as a measurement unit

How to make inline functions in C#

Yes.

You can create anonymous methods or lambda expressions:

    return x ?? "";
};
Func<string, string> PrefixTrimmer = x => x ?? "";

SSL certificate rejected trying to access GitHub over HTTPS behind firewall

A very simple solution: replace https:// with git://

Use git://the.repository instead of https://the.repository and will work.

I've had this problem on Windows with TortoiseGit and this solved it.

pip installing in global site-packages instead of virtualenv

Lot of good discussion above, but virtualenv examples were used. Since 'conda' is now the recommended tool to manage virtualenv, I have summarized the steps in running pip in conda env as follow.

I'll use py36r as the name of the env, and /opt/conda/envs is the prefix to the envs):

$ source /opt/conda/etc/profile.d/conda.sh # skip if already done
$ conda activate py36r
$ pip  install pkg_xyz
$ pip  list | grep pkg_xyz

Note that the pip executed should be in /opt/conda/envs/py36r/bin/pip (not /opt/conda/bin/pip).

Alternatively, you can simply run the following without conda activate

$ /opt/conda/envs/py36r/bin/pip

Also, if you install using conda, you can install without activate:

$ conda install -n py36r pkg_abc ...

Hashing a file in Python

TL;DR use buffers to not use tons of memory.

We get to the crux of your problem, I believe, when we consider the memory implications of working with very large files. We don't want this bad boy to churn through 2 gigs of ram for a 2 gigabyte file so, as pasztorpisti points out, we gotta deal with those bigger files in chunks!

import sys
import hashlib

# BUF_SIZE is totally arbitrary, change for your app!
BUF_SIZE = 65536  # lets read stuff in 64kb chunks!

md5 = hashlib.md5()
sha1 = hashlib.sha1()

with open(sys.argv[1], 'rb') as f:
    while True:
        data = f.read(BUF_SIZE)
        if not data:
            break
        md5.update(data)
        sha1.update(data)

print("MD5: {0}".format(md5.hexdigest()))
print("SHA1: {0}".format(sha1.hexdigest()))

What we've done is we're updating our hashes of this bad boy in 64kb chunks as we go along with hashlib's handy dandy update method. This way we use a lot less memory than the 2gb it would take to hash the guy all at once!

You can test this with:

$ mkfile 2g bigfile
$ python hashes.py bigfile
MD5: a981130cf2b7e09f4686dc273cf7187e
SHA1: 91d50642dd930e9542c39d36f0516d45f4e1af0d
$ md5 bigfile
MD5 (bigfile) = a981130cf2b7e09f4686dc273cf7187e
$ shasum bigfile
91d50642dd930e9542c39d36f0516d45f4e1af0d  bigfile

Hope that helps!

Also all of this is outlined in the linked question on the right hand side: Get MD5 hash of big files in Python

Addendum!

In general when writing python it helps to get into the habit of following pep-8. For example, in python variables are typically underscore separated not camelCased. But that's just style and no one really cares about those things except people who have to read bad style... which might be you reading this code years from now.

When should null values of Boolean be used?

I almost never use Boolean because its semantics are vague and obscure. Basically you have 3-state logic: true, false or unknown. Sometimes it is useful to use it when e.g. you gave user a choice between two values and the user didn't answer at all and you really want to know that information (think: NULLable database column).

I see no reason to convert from boolean to Boolean as it introduces extra memory overhead, NPE possibility and less typing. Typically I use awkward BooleanUtils.isTrue() to make my life a little bit easier with Boolean.

The only reason for the existence of Boolean is the ability to have collections of Boolean type (generics do not allow boolean, as well as all other primitives).

How to create PDF files in Python

Iterate keys in a C++ map

You are looking for map_keys, with it you can write things like

Firefox and SSL: sec_error_unknown_issuer

I've being going round in circles with Firefox 43, El Capitan and WHM/cPanel SSL installation continually getting the Untrusted site error - I didn't buy the certificate it was handed over to me to install as the last guy walked out the door. Turns out I was installing under the wrong domain because I missed off the www - but the certificate still installed against the domain, when I installed the certificate in WHM using www.domain.com.au it installed now worries and the FF error has gone - the certificate works fine for both www and non-www.

Xcode 10: A valid provisioning profile for this executable was not found

I had the same issue (XCode 11) and nothing worked what was written here.

My issue was that I had iOS Beta (13.3) on my Phone. After reverting that everything worked fine again.

Idea: Maybe the device caches some Information about the provisioning profile too, so a factory reset of the phone might also fix it?

Using multiple parameters in URL in express

For what you want I would've used

    app.get('/fruit/:fruitName&:fruitColor', function(request, response) {
       const name = request.params.fruitName
       const color = request.params.fruitColor
    });

or better yet

    app.get('/fruit/:fruit', function(request, response) {
       const fruit = request.params.fruit
       console.log(fruit)
    });

where fruit is a object. So in the client app you just call

https://mydomain.dm/fruit/{"name":"My fruit name", "color":"The color of the fruit"}

and as a response you should see:

    //  client side response
    // { name: My fruit name, color:The color of the fruit}

Sublime Text 3, convert spaces to tabs

if you have Mac just use help option (usually the last option on Mac's menu bar) then type: "tab indentation" and choose a tab indentation width

How to check if a specified key exists in a given S3 bucket using Java

The right way to do it in SDK V2, without the overload of actually getting the object, is to use S3Client.headObject. Officially backed by AWS Change Log.

Example code:

public boolean exists(String bucket, String key) {
    try {
        HeadObjectResponse headResponse = client
                .headObject(HeadObjectRequest.builder().bucket(bucket).key(key).build());
        return true;
    } catch (NoSuchKeyException e) {
        return false;
    }
}

List all files from a directory recursively with Java

This Function will probably list all the file name and its path from its directory and its subdirectories.

public void listFile(String pathname) {
    File f = new File(pathname);
    File[] listfiles = f.listFiles();
    for (int i = 0; i < listfiles.length; i++) {
        if (listfiles[i].isDirectory()) {
            File[] internalFile = listfiles[i].listFiles();
            for (int j = 0; j < internalFile.length; j++) {
                System.out.println(internalFile[j]);
                if (internalFile[j].isDirectory()) {
                    String name = internalFile[j].getAbsolutePath();
                    listFile(name);
                }

            }
        } else {
            System.out.println(listfiles[i]);
        }

    }

}

PHP string "contains"

You can use stristr() or strpos(). Both return false if nothing is found.

Excel cell value as string won't store as string

Use Range("A1").Text instead of .Value

post comment edit:
Why?
Because the .Text property of Range object returns what is literally visible in the spreadsheet, so if you cell displays for example i100l:25he*_92 then <- Text will return exactly what it in the cell including any formatting.
The .Value and .Value2 properties return what's stored in the cell under the hood excluding formatting. Specially .Value2 for date types, it will return the decimal representation.

If you want to dig deeper into the meaning and performance, I just found this article which seems like a good guide

Here you go @Santosh
type in (MANUALLY) the values from the DEFAULT (col A) to other columns
Do not format column A at all
Format column B as Text
Format column C as Date[dd/mm/yyyy]
Format column D as Percentage
Dont Format column A, Format B as TEXT, C as Date, D as Percentage
now,
paste this code in a module

Sub main()

    Dim ws As Worksheet, i&, j&
    Set ws = Sheets(1)
    For i = 3 To 7
        For j = 1 To 4

MVC web api: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource

That problem happens when you try to access from a different domain or different port.

If you're using Visual Studio, then go to Tools > NuGet Package Manager > Package Manager Console. There you have to install the NuGet Package Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Cors

Install-Package Microsoft.AspNet.WebApi.Cors

Then, in PROJECT > App_Start > WebApiConfig, enable CORS

public static class WebApiConfig
{
    public static void Register(HttpConfiguration config)

Excel function to make SQL-like queries on worksheet data?

You can use Get External Data (dispite its name), located in the 'Data' tab of Excel 2010, to set up a connection in a workbook to query data from itself. Use From Other Sources From Microsoft Query to connect to Excel

Once set up you can use VBA to manipulate the connection to, among other thing, view and modify the SQL command that drives the query. This query does reference the in memory workbook, so doen't require a save to refresh the latest data.

Here's a quick Sub to demonstrate accessing the connection objects

Sub DemoConnection()
    Dim c As Connections
    Dim wb As Workbook
    Dim i As Long
    Dim strSQL As String

    Set wb = ActiveWorkbook
    Set c = wb.Connections
    For i = 1 To c.Count
        ' Reresh the data
        c(i).Refresh
        ' view the SQL query
        strSQL = c(i).ODBCConnection.CommandText
        MsgBox strSQL
    Next
End Sub

Convert a bitmap into a byte array

yourBitmap.Save(ms, ImageFormat.Bmp);
byte[] bitmapData = ms.ToArray();

Count number of times a date occurs and make a graph out of it

The simplest is to do a PivotChart. Select your array of dates (with a header) and create a new Pivot Chart (Insert / PivotChart / Ok) Then on the field list window, drag and drop the date column in the Axis list first and then in the value list first.

restart mysql server on windows 7

First try:

net stop MySQL
net start MySQL

If that does not work, try using the windows interface:

Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services

Look for your version of MySQL (In my case - MySQL55), highlight and click the green start arrow. The status should change to "Started"

Naming Classes - How to avoid calling everything a "<WhatEver>Manager"?

It sounds like a slippery slope to something that'd be posted on thedailywtf.com, "ManagerOfPeopleWhoHaveMortgages", etc.

I suppose it's right that one monolithic Manager class is not good design, but using 'Manager' is not bad. Instead of UserManager we might break it down to UserAccountManager, UserProfileManager, UserSecurityManager, etc.

'Manager' is a good word because it clearly shows a class is not representing a real-world 'thing'. 'AccountsClerk' - how am I supposed to tell if that's a class which manages user data, or represents someone who is an Accounts Clerk for their job?

Command to change the default home directory of a user

The accepted answer is faulty, since the contents from the initial user folder are not moved using it. I am going to add another answer to correct it:

sudo usermod -d /newhome/username -m username

You don't need to create the folder with username and this will also move your files from the initial user folder to /newhome/username folder.

Youtube iframe wmode issue

Just a tip!--make sure you up the z-index on the element you want to be over the embedded video. I added the wmode querystring, and it still didn't work...until I upped the z-index of the other element. :)

Add Twitter Bootstrap icon to Input box

Since the glyphicons image is a sprite, you really can't do that: fundamentally what you want is to limit the size of the background, but there's no way to specify how big the background is. Either you cut out the icon you want, size it down and use it, or use something like the input field prepend/append option (http://twitter.github.io/bootstrap/base-css.html#forms and then search for prepended inputs).

How to access the correct `this` inside a callback?

It's all in the "magic" syntax of calling a method:

object.property();

When you get the property from the object and call it in one go, the object will be the context for the method. If you call the same method, but in separate steps, the context is the global scope (window) instead:

var f = object.property;
f();

When you get the reference of a method, it's no longer attached to the object, it's just a reference to a plain function. The same happens when you get the reference to use as a callback:

this.saveNextLevelData(this.setAll);

That's where you would bind the context to the function:

this.saveNextLevelData(this.setAll.bind(this));

If you are using jQuery you should use the $.proxy method instead, as bind is not supported in all browsers:

this.saveNextLevelData($.proxy(this.setAll, this));

How to float a div over Google Maps?

Just set the position of the div and you may have to set the z-index.

ex.

div#map-div {
    position: absolute;
    left: 10px;
    top: 10px;
}
div#cover-div {
    position:absolute;
    left:10px;
    top: 10px;
    z-index:3;
}

How to kill all processes matching a name?

I think this command killall is exactly what you need. The command is described as "kill processes by name".It's easy to use.For example

replace String with another in java

Try this: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/1.5.0/docs/api/java/lang/String.html#replace%28java.lang.CharSequence,%20java.lang.CharSequence%29

String a = "HelloBrother How are you!";
String r = a.replace("HelloBrother","Brother");

System.out.println(r);

This would print out "Brother How are you!"

Python Serial: How to use the read or readline function to read more than 1 character at a time

I was reciving some date from my arduino uno (0-1023 numbers). Using code from 1337holiday, jwygralak67 and some tips from other sources:

import serial
import time

ser = serial.Serial(
    port='COM4',\
    baudrate=9600,\
    parity=serial.PARITY_NONE,\
    stopbits=serial.STOPBITS_ONE,\
    bytesize=serial.EIGHTBITS,\
        timeout=0)

print("connected to: " + ser.portstr)

#this will store the line
seq = []
count = 1

while True:
    for c in ser.read():
        seq.append(chr(c)) #convert from ANSII
        joined_seq = ''.join(str(v) for v in seq) #Make a string from array

        if chr(c) == '\n':
            print("Line " + str(count) + ': ' + joined_seq)
            seq = []
            count += 1
            break

Java code To convert byte to Hexadecimal

Just like some other answers, I recommend to use String.format() and BigInteger. But to interpret the byte array as big-endian binary representation instead of two's-complement binary representation (with signum and incomplete use of possible hex values range) use BigInteger(int signum, byte[] magnitude), not BigInteger(byte[] val).

For example, for a byte array of length 8 use:

String.format("%016X", new BigInteger(1,bytes))

Advantages:

  • leading zeros
  • no signum
  • only built-in functions
  • only one line of code

Disadvantage:

  • there might be more efficient ways to do that

Example:

byte[] bytes = new byte[8];
Random r = new Random();
System.out.println("big-endian       | two's-complement");
System.out.println("-----------------|-----------------");
for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) {
    r.nextBytes(bytes);
    System.out.print(String.format("%016X", new BigInteger(1,bytes)));
    System.out.print(" | ");
    System.out.print(String.format("%016X", new BigInteger(bytes)));
    System.out.println();
}

Example output:

big-endian       | two's-complement

Interesting 'takes exactly 1 argument (2 given)' Python error

Am I getting it because the act of calling it via e.extractAll("th") also passes in self as an argument?

Yes, that's precisely it. If you like, the first parameter is the object name, e that you are calling it with.

And if so, by removing the self in the call, would I be making it some kind of class method that can be called like Extractor.extractAll("th")?

Not quite. A classmethod needs the @classmethod decorator, and that accepts the class as the first paramater (usually referenced as cls). The only sort of method that is given no automatic parameter at all is known as a staticmethod, and that again needs a decorator (unsurprisingly, it's @staticmethod). A classmethod is used when it's an operation that needs to refer to the class itself: perhaps instantiating objects of the class; a staticmethod is used when the code belongs in the class logically, but requires no access to class or instance.

But yes, both staticmethods and classmethods can be called by referencing the classname as you describe: Extractor.extractAll("th").

How to specify jackson to only use fields - preferably globally

@since 2.10 version we can use JsonMapper.Builder and accepted answer could look like:

JsonMapper mapper = JsonMapper.builder()

LINQ Where with AND OR condition

Linq With Or Condition by using Lambda expression you can do as below

DataTable dtEmp = new DataTable();

dtEmp.Columns.Add("EmpID", typeof(int));
dtEmp.Columns.Add("EmpName", typeof(string));
dtEmp.Columns.Add("Sal", typeof(decimal));
dtEmp.Columns.Add("JoinDate", typeof(DateTime));
dtEmp.Columns.Add("DeptNo", typeof(int));

dtEmp.Rows.Add(1, "Rihan", 10000, new DateTime(2001, 2, 1), 10);
dtEmp.Rows.Add(2, "Shafi", 20000, new DateTime(2000, 3, 1), 10);

Multiple REPLACE function in Oracle

Bear in mind the consequences

SELECT REPLACE(REPLACE('TEST123','123','456'),'45','89') FROM DUAL;

will replace the 123 with 456, then find that it can replace the 45 with 89. For a function that had an equivalent result, it would have to duplicate the precedence (ie replacing the strings in the same order).

Similarly, taking a string 'ABCDEF', and instructing it to replace 'ABC' with '123' and 'CDE' with 'xyz' would still have to account for a precedence to determine whether it went to '123EF' or ABxyzF'.

In short, it would be difficult to come up with anything generic that would be simpler than a nested REPLACE (though something that was more of a sprintf style function would be a useful addition).

How do I convert a Swift Array to a String?

If you want to ditch empty strings in the array.

["Jet", "Fire"].filter { !$0.isEmpty }.joined(separator: "-")

If you want to filter nil values as well:

["Jet", nil, "", "Fire"].flatMap { $0 }.filter { !$0.isEmpty }.joined(separator: "-")

'True' and 'False' in Python

While the other posters addressed why is True does what it does, I wanted to respond to this part of your post:

I thought Python treats anything with value as True. Why is this happening?

Coming from Java, I got tripped up by this, too. Python does not treat anything with a value as True. Witness:

if 0:
    print("Won't get here")

This will print nothing because 0 is treated as False. In fact, zero of any numeric type evaluates to False. They also made decimal work the way you'd expect:

from decimal import *
from fractions import *

if 0 or 0.0 or 0j or Decimal(0) or Fraction(0, 1):
    print("Won't get here")

Here are the other value which evaluate to False:

if None or False or '' or () or [] or {} or set() or range(0):
    print("Won't get here")

force css grid container to fill full screen of device

Two important CSS properties to set for full height pages are these:

  1. Allow the body to grow as high as the content in it requires.

    html { height: 100%; }

  2. Force the body not to get any smaller than then window height.

    body { min-height: 100%; }

What you do with your gird is irrelevant as long as you use fractions or percentages you should be safe in all cases.

Have a look at this common dashboard layout.

In Bash, how can I check if a string begins with some value?

You can select just the part of the string you want to check:

if [ "${HOST:0:4}" = user ]

For your follow-up question, you could use an OR:

if [[ "$HOST" == user1 || "$HOST" == node* ]]

How can I open Windows Explorer to a certain directory from within a WPF app?

You can use System.Diagnostics.Process.Start.

Or use the WinApi directly with something like the following, which will launch explorer.exe. You can use the fourth parameter to ShellExecute to give it a starting directory.

public partial class Window1 : Window
{
    public Window1()

        ShellExecute(IntPtr.Zero, "open", "explorer.exe", "", "", ShowCommands.SW_NORMAL);

PHP: Call to undefined function: simplexml_load_string()

I also faced this issue. My Operating system is Ubuntu 18.04 and my PHP version is PHP 7.2.

Here's how I solved it:

Install Simplexml on your Ubuntu Server:

sudo apt-get install php7.2-simplexml

Restart Apache Server

sudo systemctl restart apache2

That's all.

I hope this helps

What is the difference between a static and a non-static initialization code block

"final" guarantees that a variable must be initialized before end of object initializer code. Likewise "static final" guarantees that a variable will be initialized by the end of class initialization code. Omitting the "static" from your initialization code turns it into object initialization code; thus your variable no longer satisfies its guarantees.

C# ASP.NET MVC Return to Previous Page

For ASP.NET Core You can use asp-route-* attribute:

<form asp-action="Login" asp-route-previous="@Model.ReturnUrl">

An example: Imagine that you have a Vehicle Controller with actions

Index

Details

Edit

and you can edit any vehicle from Index or from Details, so if you clicked edit from index you must return to index after edit and if you clicked edit from details you must return to details after edit.

//In your viewmodel add the ReturnUrl Property
public class VehicleViewModel
{
     ..............
     ..............
     public string ReturnUrl {get;set;}
}

Details.cshtml
<a asp-action="Edit" asp-route-previous="Details" asp-route-id="@Model.CarId">Edit</a>

Index.cshtml
<a asp-action="Edit" asp-route-previous="Index" asp-route-id="@item.CarId">Edit</a>

Edit.cshtml
<form asp-action="Edit" asp-route-previous="@Model.ReturnUrl" class="form-horizontal">
        <div class="box-footer">
            <a asp-action="@Model.ReturnUrl" class="btn btn-default">Back to List</a>
            <button type="submit" value="Save" class="btn btn-warning pull-right">Save</button>
        </div>
    </form>

In your controller:

// GET: Vehicle/Edit/5
    public ActionResult Edit(int id,string previous)
    {
            var model = this.UnitOfWork.CarsRepository.GetAllByCarId(id).FirstOrDefault();
            var viewModel = this.Mapper.Map<VehicleViewModel>(model);//if you using automapper
    //or by this code if you are not use automapper
    var viewModel = new VehicleViewModel();

    if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(previous)
                viewModel.ReturnUrl = previous;
            else

TypeError: ufunc 'add' did not contain a loop with signature matching types

You have a numpy array of strings, not floats. This is what is meant by dtype('<U9') -- a little endian encoded unicode string with up to 9 characters.

try:

return sum(np.asarray(listOfEmb, dtype=float)) / float(len(listOfEmb))

However, you don't need numpy here at all. You can really just do:

return sum(float(embedding) for embedding in listOfEmb) / len(listOfEmb)

Or if you're really set on using numpy.

return np.asarray(listOfEmb, dtype=float).mean()

For loop for HTMLCollection elements

you can add this two lines:

HTMLCollection.prototype.forEach = Array.prototype.forEach;
NodeList.prototype.forEach = Array.prototype.forEach;

HTMLCollection is return by getElementsByClassName and getElementsByTagName

NodeList is return by querySelectorAll

Like this you can do a forEach:

var selections = document.getElementsByClassName('myClass');

/* alternative :
var selections = document.querySelectorAll('.myClass');
*/

selections.forEach(function(element, i){
//do your stuffs
});

How to replace deprecated android.support.v4.app.ActionBarDrawerToggle

you must use import android.support.v7.app.ActionBarDrawerToggle;

and use the constructor

public CustomActionBarDrawerToggle(Activity mActivity,DrawerLayout mDrawerLayout)
{
    super(mActivity, mDrawerLayout, R.string.ns_menu_open, R.string.ns_menu_close);
}

and if the drawer toggle button becomes dark then you must use the supportActionBar provided in the support library.

You can implement supportActionbar from this link: http://developer.android.com/training/basics/actionbar/setting-up.html

No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource error

I believe this might likely be that Chrome does not support localhost to go through the Access-Control-Allow-Origin -- see Chrome issue

To have Chrome send Access-Control-Allow-Origin in the header, just alias your localhost in your /etc/hosts file to some other domain, like:

127.0.0.1   localhost yourdomain.com

Then if you'd access your script using yourdomain.com instead of localhost, the call should succeed.

APT command line interface-like yes/no input?

This is what I use:

# cs = case sensitive
# ys = whatever you want to be "yes" - string or tuple of strings

#  prompt('promptString') == 1:               # only y
#  prompt('promptString',cs = 0) == 1:        # y or Y
#  prompt('promptString','Yes') == 1:         # only Yes
#  prompt('promptString',('y','yes')) == 1:   # only y or yes
#  prompt('promptString',('Y','Yes')) == 1:   # only Y or Yes
#  prompt('promptString',('y','yes'),0) == 1: # Yes, YES, yes, y, Y etc.

def prompt(ps,ys='y',cs=1):
    sys.stdout.write(ps)
    ii = raw_input()
    if cs == 0:
        ii = ii.lower()
    if type(ys) == tuple:
        for accept in ys:
            if cs == 0:
                accept = accept.lower()
            if ii == accept:

Iterate through a C++ Vector using a 'for' loop

With STL, programmers use iterators for traversing through containers, since iterator is an abstract concept, implemented in all standard containers. For example, std::list has no operator [] at all.

Call a function on click event in Angular 2

Component code:

import { Component } from "@angular/core";

@Component({
  templateUrl:"home.html"
})
export class HomePage {

  public items: Array<string>;

  constructor() {
    this.items = ["item1", "item2", "item3"]
  }

  public open(event, item) {
    alert('Open ' + item);
  }

}

View:

<ion-header>
  <ion-navbar primary>
    <ion-title>
      <span>My App</span>
    </ion-title>
  </ion-navbar>
</ion-header>

<ion-content>
  <ion-list>
    <ion-item *ngFor="let item of items" (click)="open($event, item)">
      {{ item }}
    </ion-item>
  </ion-list>
</ion-content>

As you can see in the code, I'm declaring the click handler like this (click)="open($event, item)" and sending both the event and the item (declared in the *ngFor) to the open() method (declared in the component code).

If you just want to show the item and you don't need to get info from the event, you can just do (click)="open(item)" and modify the open method like this public open(item) { ... }

NotificationCompat.Builder deprecated in Android O

Notification notification = new Notification.Builder(MainActivity.this)
        .setContentTitle("New Message")
        .setContentText("You've received new messages.")
        .setSmallIcon(R.drawable.ic_notify_status)
        .setChannelId(CHANNEL_ID)
        .build();

Right code will be :

Notification.Builder notification=new Notification.Builder(this)

with dependency 26.0.1 and new updated dependencies such as 28.0.0.

Some users use this code in the form of this :

Notification notification=new NotificationCompat.Builder(this)//this is also wrong code.

So Logic is that which Method you will declare or initilize then the same methode on Right side will be use for Allocation. if in Leftside of = you will use some method then the same method will be use in right side of = for Allocation with new.

Try this code...It will sure work

Moment.js get day name from date

With moment you can parse the date string you have:

var dt = moment(myDate.date, "YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss")

That's for UTC, you'll have to convert the time zone from that point if you so desire.

Which characters are valid/invalid in a JSON key name?

It is worth mentioning that while starting the keys with numbers is valid, it could cause some unintended issues.

Example:

var testObject = {

};
console.log(testObject.1tile); // fails, invalid syntax
console.log(testObject["1tile"]; // workaround

How to place a file on classpath in Eclipse?

This might not be the most useful answer, more of an addendum, but the above answer (from greenkode) confused me for all of 10 seconds.

"Add Folder" only lets you see folders that are the sub-folders of the project whose build path you are looking at.

The "Link Source" button in the above image would be called "Add External Folder" in an ideal world.

I had to make a properties file that is to be shared between multiple projects, and by keeping the properties file in an external folder, I am able to have only one, instead of having a copy in each project.

Loading all images using imread from a given folder

If all images are of the same format:

import cv2
import glob

images = [cv2.imread(file) for file in glob.glob('path/to/files/*.jpg')]

For reading images of different formats:

import cv2
import glob

imdir = 'path/to/files/'
ext = ['png', 'jpg', 'gif'] # Add image formats here

files = []
[files.extend(glob.glob(imdir + '*.' + e)) for e in ext]

images = [cv2.imread(file) for file in files]

How do DATETIME values work in SQLite?

For practically all date and time matters I prefer to simplify things, very, very simple... Down to seconds stored in integers.

Integers will always be supported as integers in databases, flat files, etc. You do a little math and cast it into another type and you can format the date anyway you want.

Doing it this way, you don't have to worry when [insert current favorite database here] is replaced with [future favorite database] which coincidentally didn't use the date format you chose today.

It's just a little math overhead (eg. methods--takes two seconds, I'll post a gist if necessary) and simplifies things for a lot of operations regarding date/time later.

How to change color of ListView items on focus and on click

Declare list item components as final outside your setOnClickListener or whatever you want to apply on your list item like this:

final View yourView;
final TextView yourTextView;

And in overriding onClick or whatever method you use, just set colors as needed like this:

yourView.setBackgroundColor(Color.WHITE/*or whatever RGB suites good contrast*/);
yourTextView.setTextColor(Color.BLACK/*or whatever RGB suites good contrast*/);

Or without the final declaration, if let's say you implement an onClick() for a custom adapter to populate a list, this is what I used in getView() for my setOnClickListener/onClick():

//reset color for all list items in case any item was previously selected
for(int i = 0; i < parent.getChildCount(); i++)
{
  parent.getChildAt(i).setBackgroundColor(Color.BLACK);
  TextView text=(TextView) parent.getChildAt(i).findViewById(R.id.item);
  text.setTextColor(Color.rgb(0,178,178));
}
//highlight currently selected item
 parent.getChildAt(position).setBackgroundColor(Color.rgb(0,178,178));
 TextView text=(TextView) parent.getChildAt(position).findViewById(R.id.item);
 text.setTextColor(Color.rgb(0,178,178));

How do I open a new fragment from another fragment?

Adding to @Narendra solution...

IMPORTANT: When working with fragments, navigations is closely related to host acivity so, you can't justo jump from fragment to fragment without implement that fragment class in host Activity.

Sample:

public class MyHostActivity extends AppCompatActivity implements MyFragmentOne.OnFragmentInteractionListener {

Also, check your host activity has the next override function:

@Override public void onFragmentInteraction(Uri uri) {} Hope this helps...

How do you create a REST client for Java?

As I mentioned in this thread I tend to use Jersey which implements JAX-RS and comes with a nice REST client. The nice thing is if you implement your RESTful resources using JAX-RS then the Jersey client can reuse the entity providers such as for JAXB/XML/JSON/Atom and so forth - so you can reuse the same objects on the server side as you use on the client side unit test.

For example here is a unit test case from the Apache Camel project which looks up XML payloads from a RESTful resource (using the JAXB object Endpoints). The resource(uri) method is defined in this base class which just uses the Jersey client API.

e.g.

    clientConfig = new DefaultClientConfig();
    client = Client.create(clientConfig);

    resource = client.resource("http://localhost:8080");
    // lets get the XML as a String
    String text = resource("foo").accept("application/xml").get(String.class);

BTW I hope that future version of JAX-RS add a nice client side API along the lines of the one in Jersey

How do I encode a JavaScript object as JSON?

All major browsers now include native JSON encoding/decoding.

// To encode an object (This produces a string)
var json_str = JSON.stringify(myobject);

// To decode (This produces an object)
var obj = JSON.parse(json_str);

Note that only valid JSON data will be encoded. For example:

var obj = {'foo': 1, 'bar': (function (x) { return x; })}
JSON.stringify(obj) // --> "{\"foo\":1}"

Valid JSON types are: objects, strings, numbers, arrays, true, false, and null.

How to add headers to OkHttp request interceptor?

There is yet an another way to add interceptors in your OkHttp3 (latest version as of now) , that is you add the interceptors to your Okhttp builder

okhttpBuilder.networkInterceptors().add(chain -> {
 //todo add headers etc to your AuthorisedRequest

  return chain.proceed(yourAuthorisedRequest);
});

and finally build your okHttpClient from this builder

OkHttpClient client = builder.build();

What does (function($) {})(jQuery); mean?

Firstly, a code block that looks like (function(){})() is merely a function that is executed in place. Let's break it down a little.

1. (
2.    function(){}
3. )
4. ()

Line 2 is a plain function, wrapped in parenthesis to tell the runtime to return the function to the parent scope, once it's returned the function is executed using line 4, maybe reading through these steps will help

1. function(){ .. }
2. (1)
3. 2()

You can see that 1 is the declaration, 2 is returning the function and 3 is just executing the function.

An example of how it would be used.

(function(doc){

   doc.location = '/';

})(document);//This is passed into the function above

As for the other questions about the plugins:

Type 1: This is not a actually a plugin, it's an object passed as a function, as plugins tend to be functions.

Type 2: This is again not a plugin as it does not extend the $.fn object. It's just an extenstion of the jQuery core, although the outcome is the same. This is if you want to add traversing functions such as toArray and so on.

Type 3: This is the best method to add a plugin, the extended prototype of jQuery takes an object holding your plugin name and function and adds it to the plugin library for you.

How can I insert data into a MySQL database?

This way worked for me when adding random data to MySql table using a python script.
First install the following packages using the below commands

pip install mysql-connector-python<br>
pip install random
import mysql.connector
import random

from datetime import date

start_dt = date.today().replace(day=1, month=1).toordinal()
end_dt = date.today().toordinal()

mydb = mysql.connector.connect(
    host="localhost",
    user="root",
    password="root",
    database="your_db_name"
)

mycursor = mydb.cursor()

sql_insertion = "INSERT INTO customer (name,email,address,dateJoined) VALUES (%s, %s,%s, %s)"
#insert 10 records(rows)
for x in range(1,11):
    #generate a random date
    random_day = date.fromordinal(random.randint(start_dt, end_dt))
    value = ("customer" + str(x),"customer_email" + str(x),"customer_address" + str(x),random_day)
    mycursor.execute(sql_insertion , value)

mydb.commit()

print("customer records inserted!")

Following is a sample output of the insertion

Byte Array and Int conversion in Java

Instead of allocating space, et al, an approach using ByteBuffer from java.nio....

byte[] arr = { 0x01, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x48, 0x01};

// say we want to consider indices 1, 2, 3, 4 {0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x48};
ByteBuffer bf = ByteBuffer.wrap(arr, 1, 4); // big endian by default
int num = bf.getInt();    // 72

Now, to go the other way.

ByteBuffer newBuf = ByteBuffer.allocate(4);
newBuf.putInt(num);
byte[] bytes = newBuf.array();  // [0, 0, 0, 72] {0x48 = 72}

How to pass a textbox value from view to a controller in MVC 4?

You can use simple form:

@using(Html.BeginForm("Update", "Shopping"))
{
    <input type="text" id="ss" name="qty" value="@item.Quantity"/>
    ...
    <input type="submit" value="Update" />

When should I use h:outputLink instead of h:commandLink?

The <h:outputLink> renders a fullworthy HTML <a> element with the proper URL in the href attribute which fires a bookmarkable GET request. It cannot directly invoke a managed bean action method.

<h:outputLink value="destination.xhtml">link text</h:outputLink>

The <h:commandLink> renders a HTML <a> element with an onclick script which submits a (hidden) POST form and can invoke a managed bean action method. It's also required to be placed inside a <h:form>.

<h:form>
    <h:commandLink value="link text" action="destination" />
</h:form>

The ?faces-redirect=true parameter on the <h:commandLink>, which triggers a redirect after the POST (as per the Post-Redirect-Get pattern), only improves bookmarkability of the target page when the link is actually clicked (the URL won't be "one behind" anymore), but it doesn't change the href of the <a> element to be a fullworthy URL. It still remains #.

<h:form>
    <h:commandLink value="link text" action="destination?faces-redirect=true" />
</h:form>

Since JSF 2.0, there's also the <h:link> which can take a view ID (a navigation case outcome) instead of an URL. It will generate a HTML <a> element as well with the proper URL in href.

<h:link value="link text" outcome="destination" />

So, if it's for pure and bookmarkable page-to-page navigation like the SO username link, then use <h:outputLink> or <h:link>. That's also better for SEO since bots usually doesn't cipher POST forms nor JS code. Also, UX will be improved as the pages are now bookmarkable and the URL is not "one behind" anymore.

When necessary, you can do the preprocessing job in the constructor or @PostConstruct of a @RequestScoped or @ViewScoped @ManagedBean which is attached to the destination page in question. You can make use of @ManagedProperty or <f:viewParam> to set GET parameters as bean properties.

Get the last element of a std::string

You could write a function template back that delegates to the member function for ordinary containers and a normal function that implements the missing functionality for strings:

template <typename C>
typename C::reference back(C& container)
{
    return container.back();
}

template <typename C>
typename C::const_reference back(const C& container)
{
    return container.back();
}

char& back(std::string& str)
{
    return *(str.end() - 1);
}

char back(const std::string& str)
{
    return *(str.end() - 1);
}

Then you can just say back(foo) without worrying whether foo is a string or a vector.

What are the differences and similarities between ffmpeg, libav, and avconv?

Confusing messages

These messages are rather misleading and understandably a source of confusion. Older Ubuntu versions used Libav which is a fork of the FFmpeg project. FFmpeg returned in Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet".

The fork was basically a non-amicable result of conflicting personalities and development styles within the FFmpeg community. It is worth noting that the maintainer for Debian/Ubuntu switched from FFmpeg to Libav on his own accord due to being involved with the Libav fork.

The real ffmpeg vs the fake one

For a while both Libav and FFmpeg separately developed their own version of ffmpeg.

Libav then renamed their bizarro ffmpeg to avconv to distance themselves from the FFmpeg project. During the transition period the "not developed anymore" message was displayed to tell users to start using avconv instead of their counterfeit version of ffmpeg. This confused users into thinking that FFmpeg (the project) is dead, which is not true. A bad choice of words, but I can't imagine Libav not expecting such a response by general users.

This message was removed upstream when the fake "ffmpeg" was finally removed from the Libav source, but, depending on your version, it can still show up in Ubuntu because the Libav source Ubuntu uses is from the ffmpeg-to-avconv transition period.

In June 2012, the message was re-worded for the package libav - 4:0.8.3-0ubuntu0.12.04.1. Unfortunately the new "deprecated" message has caused additional user confusion.

Starting with Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet", FFmpeg's ffmpeg is back in the repositories again.

libav vs Libav

To further complicate matters, Libav chose a name that was historically used by FFmpeg to refer to its libraries (libavcodec, libavformat, etc). For example the libav-user mailing list, for questions and discussions about using the FFmpeg libraries, is unrelated to the Libav project.

How to tell the difference

If you are using avconv then you are using Libav. If you are using ffmpeg you could be using FFmpeg or Libav. Refer to the first line in the console output to tell the difference: the copyright notice will either mention FFmpeg or Libav.

Secondly, the version numbering schemes differ. Each of the FFmpeg or Libav libraries contains a version.h header which shows a version number. FFmpeg will end in three digits, such as 57.67.100, and Libav will end in one digit such as 57.67.0. You can also view the library version numbers by running ffmpeg or avconv and viewing the console output.

If you want to use the real ffmpeg

Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" or newer

The real ffmpeg is in the repository, so you can install it with:

apt-get install ffmpeg

For older Ubuntu versions

Your options are:

These methods are non-intrusive, reversible, and will not interfere with the system or any repository packages.

Another possible option is to upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" or newer and just use ffmpeg from the repository.

how to concat two columns into one with the existing column name in mysql?

As aziz-shaikh has pointed out, there is no way to suppress an individual column from the * directive, however you might be able to use the following hack:

SELECT CONCAT(c.FIRSTNAME, ',', c.LASTNAME) AS FIRSTNAME,
       c.*
FROM   `customer` c;

Doing this will cause the second occurrence of the FIRSTNAME column to adopt the alias FIRSTNAME_1 so you should be able to safely address your customised FIRSTNAME column. You need to alias the table because * in any position other than at the start will fail if not aliased.

Hope that helps!

How to Select Every Row Where Column Value is NOT Distinct

Rather than using sub queries in where condition which will increase the query time where records are huge.

I would suggest to use Inner Join as a better option to this problem.

Considering the same table this could give the result

SELECT EmailAddress, CustomerName FROM Customers as a
Inner Join Customers as b on a.CustomerName <> b.CustomerName and a.EmailAddress = b.EmailAddress

For still better results I would suggest you to use CustomerID or any unique field of your table. Duplication of CustomerName is possible.

How do I align a number like this in C?

[I realize this question is a million years old, but there is a deeper question (or two) at its heart, about OP, the pedagogy of programming, and about assumption-making.]

A few people, including a mod, have suggested this is impossible. And, in some--including the most obvious--contexts, it is. But it's interesting to see that that wasn't immediately obvious to the OP.

The impossibility assumes that the contex is running an executable compiled from C on a line-oriented text console (e.g., console+sh or X-term+csh or Terminal+bash), which is a very reasonable assumption. But the fact that the "right" answer ("%8d") wasn't good enough for OP while also being non-obvious suggests that there's a pretty big can of worms nearby...

Consider Curses (and its many variants). In it, you can navigate the "screen", and "move" the cursor around, and "repaint" portions (windows) of text-based output. In a Curses context, it absolutely would be possible to do; i.e., dynamically resize a "window" to accommodate a larger number. But even Curses is just a screen "painting" abstraction. No one suggested it, and probably rightfully so, because a Curses implementation in C doesn't mean it's "strictly C". Fine.

But what does this really mean? In order for the response: "it's impossible" to be correct, it would mean that we're saying something about the runtime system. In other words, this isn't theoretical, (as in, "How do I sort a statically-allocated array of ints?"), which can be explained as a "closed system" that totally ignores any aspect of the runtime.

But, in this case, we have I/O: specifically, the implementation of printf(). But that's where there's an opportunity to have said something more interesting in response (even though, admittedly, the asker was probably not digging quite this deep).

Suppose we use a different set of assumptions. Suppose OP is reasonably "clever" and understands that it would not be possible to to edit previous lines on a line-oriented stream (how would you correct the horizontal position of a character output by a line-printer??). Suppose also, that OP isn't just a kid working on a homework assignment and not realizing it was a "trick" question, intended to tease out an exploration of the meaning of "stream abstraction". Further, let's suppose OP was wondering: "Wait...If C's runtime environment supports the idea of STDOUT--and if STDOUT is just an abstraction--why isn't it just as reasonable to have a terminal abstraction that 1) can vertically scroll but 2) supports a positionable cursor? Both are moving text on a screen."

Because if that were the question we're trying to answer, then you'd only have to look as far as:

ANSI Escape Codes

to see that:

Almost all manufacturers of video terminals added vendor-specific escape sequences to perform operations such as placing the cursor at arbitrary positions on the screen. One example is the VT52 terminal, which allowed the cursor to be placed at an x,y location on the screen by sending the ESC character, a Y character, and then two characters representing with numerical values equal to the x,y location plus 32 (thus starting at the ASCII space character and avoiding the control characters). The Hazeltine 1500 had a similar feature, invoked using ~, DC1 and then the X and Y positions separated with a comma. While the two terminals had identical functionality in this regard, different control sequences had to be used to invoke them.

The first popular video terminal to support these sequences was the Digital VT100, introduced in 1978. This model was very successful in the market, which sparked a variety of VT100 clones, among the earliest and most popular of which was the much more affordable Zenith Z-19 in 1979. Others included the Qume QVT-108, Televideo TVI-970, Wyse WY-99GT as well as optional "VT100" or "VT103" or "ANSI" modes with varying degrees of compatibility on many other brands. The popularity of these gradually led to more and more software (especially bulletin board systems and other online services) assuming the escape sequences worked, leading to almost all new terminals and emulator programs supporting them.

It has been possible, as early as 1978. C itself was "born" in 1972, and the K&R version was established in 1978. If "ANSI" escape sequences were around at that time, then there is an answer "in C" if we're willing to also stipulate: "Well, assuming your terminal is VT100-capable." Incidentally, the consoles which don't support ANSI escapes? You guessed it: Windows & DOS consoles. But on almost every other platform (Unices, Vaxen, Mac OS, Linux) you can expect to.

TL;DR - There is no reasonable answer that can be given without stating assumptions about the runtime environment. Since most runtimes (unless you're using desktop-computer-market-share-of-the-80's-and-90's to calculate 'most') would have, (since the time of the VT-52!), then I don't think it's entirely justified to say that it's impossible--just that in order for it to be possible, it's an entire different order of magnitude of work, and not as simple as %8d...which it kinda seemed like the OP knew about.

We just have to clarify the assumptions.

And lest one thinks that I/O is exceptional, i.e., the only time we need to think about the runtime, (or even the hardware), just dig into IEEE 754 Floating Point exception handling. For those interested:

Intel Floating Point Case Study

According to Professor William Kahan, University of California at Berkeley, a classic case occurred in June 1996. A satellite-lifting rocket named Ariane 5 turned cartwheels shortly after launch and scattered itself and a payload worth over half a billion dollars over a marsh in French Guiana. Kahan found the disaster could be blamed upon a programming language that disregarded the default exception-handling specifications in IEEE 754. Upon launch, sensors reported acceleration so strong that it caused a conversion-to-integer overflow in software intended for recalibration of the rocket’s inertial guidance while on the launching pad.

Best way to check if column returns a null value (from database to .net application)

Just use DataRow.IsNull. It has overrides accepting a column index, a column name, or a DataColumn object as parameters.

Example using the column index:

if (table.rows[0].IsNull(0))
{
    //Whatever I want to do
}

And although the function is called IsNull it really compares with DbNull (which is exactly what you need).

What if I want to check for DbNull but I don't have a DataRow? Use Convert.IsDBNull.

How can I check the size of a collection within a Django template?

A list is considered to be False if it has no elements, so you can do something like this:

{% if mylist %}
    <p>I have a list!</p>
{% else %}
    <p>I don't have a list!</p>
{% endif %}

ASP.NET Temporary files cleanup

Yes, it's safe to delete these, although it may force a dynamic recompilation of any .NET applications you run on the server.

For background, see the Understanding ASP.NET dynamic compilation article on MSDN.

Xcode 7 error: "Missing iOS Distribution signing identity for ..."

The below process will solve the problem,

1: Open KeyChain access, and Delete "Apple world wide Developer relations certification authority" (Which expires on 14th Feb 2016) from both "Login" and "System" sections. If you can't find it, use “Show Expired Certificates” in the 'View' menu.

enter image description here

2: Now download https://developer.apple.com/certificationauthority/AppleWWDRCA.cer and double click the certificate to add it to Keychain access > certificates (which expires on 8th Feb 2023). Now the valid status of the certificates should turn green like below.

enter image description here

Once check the status.

MySQL - DATE_ADD month interval

Do I understand right that you assume that DATE_ADD("2011-01-01", INTERVAL 6 MONTH) should give you '2011-06-30' instead of '2011-07-01'? Of course, 2011-01-01 + 6 months is 2011-07-01. You want something like DATE_SUB(DATE_ADD("2011-01-01", INTERVAL 6 MONTH), INTERVAL 1 DAY).

What is the best free memory leak detector for a C/C++ program and its plug-in DLLs?

If you don't want to recompile (as Visual Leak Detector requires) I would recommend WinDbg, which is both powerful and fast (though it's not as easy to use as one could desire).

On the other hand, if you don't want to mess with WinDbg, you can take a look at UMDH, which is also developed by Microsoft and it's easier to learn.

Take a look at these links in order to learn more about WinDbg, memory leaks and memory management in general:

Check if the number is integer

In R, whether a number is numeric or integer can be determined by class function. Generally all numbers are stored as numeric and to explicitly define a number as integer we need to specify 'L' after the number.

Example:

x <- 1

class(x)

[1] "numeric"

x <- 1L

class(x)

[1] "integer"

I hope this is what was needed. Thanks :)

Install Chrome extension form outside the Chrome Web Store

For regular Windows users who are not skilled with computers, it is practically not possible to install and use extensions from outside the Chrome Web Store.

Users of other operating systems (Linux, Mac, Chrome OS) can easily install unpacked extensions (in developer mode).
Windows users can also load an unpacked extension, but they will always see an information bubble with "Disable developer mode extensions" when they start Chrome or open a new incognito window, which is really annoying. The only way for Windows users to use unpacked extensions without such dialogs is to switch to Chrome on the developer channel, by installing https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/index.html?extra=devchannel#eula.

Extensions can be loaded in unpacked mode by following the following steps:

  1. Visit chrome://extensions (via omnibox or menu -> Tools -> Extensions).
  2. Enable Developer mode by ticking the checkbox in the upper-right corner.
  3. Click on the "Load unpacked extension..." button.
  4. Select the directory containing your unpacked extension.

If you have a crx file, then it needs to be extracted first. CRX files are zip files with a different header. Any capable zip program should be able to open it. If you don't have such a program, I recommend 7-zip.

These steps will work for almost every extension, except extensions that rely on their extension ID. If you use the previous method, you will get an extension with a random extension ID. If it is important to preserve the extension ID, then you need to know the public key of your CRX file and insert this in your manifest.json. I have previously given a detailed explanation on how to get and use this key at https://stackoverflow.com/a/21500707.

Get domain name from given url

In my case i only needed the main domain and not the subdomain (no "www" or whatever the subdomain is) :

public static String getUrlDomain(String url) throws URISyntaxException {
    URI uri = new URI(url);
    String domain = uri.getHost();
    String[] domainArray = domain.split("\\.");
    if (domainArray.length == 1) {
        return domainArray[0];
    }
    return domainArray[domainArray.length - 2] + "." + domainArray[domainArray.length - 1];
}

With this method the url "https://rest.webtoapp.io/llSlider?lg=en&t=8" will have for domain "webtoapp.io".

git stash and git pull

When you have changes on your working copy, from command line do:

git stash

This will stash your changes and clear your status report

git pull

This will pull changes from upstream branch. Make sure it says fast-forward in the report. If it doesn't, you are probably doing an unintended merge

git stash pop

This will apply stashed changes back to working copy and remove the changes from stash unless you have conflicts. In the case of conflict, they will stay in stash so you can start over if needed.

if you need to see what is in your stash

git stash list

How do I assign a null value to a variable in PowerShell?

Use $dec = $null

From the documentation:

$null is an automatic variable that contains a NULL or empty value. You can use this variable to represent an absent or undefined value in commands and scripts.

PowerShell treats $null as an object with a value, that is, as an explicit placeholder, so you can use $null to represent an empty value in a series of values.

Pass data from Activity to Service using an Intent

First Context (can be Activity/Service etc)

For Service, you need to override onStartCommand there you have direct access to intent:

Override
public int onStartCommand(Intent intent, int flags, int startId) {

You have a few options:

1) Use the Bundle from the Intent:

Intent mIntent = new Intent(this, Example.class);
Bundle extras = mIntent.getExtras();
extras.putString(key, value);

2) Create a new Bundle

Intent mIntent = new Intent(this, Example.class);
Bundle mBundle = new Bundle();
mBundle.extras.putString(key, value);
mIntent.putExtras(mBundle);

3) Use the putExtra() shortcut method of the Intent

Intent mIntent = new Intent(this, Example.class);
mIntent.putExtra(key, value);

New Context (can be Activity/Service etc)

Intent myIntent = getIntent(); // this getter is just for example purpose, can differ
if (myIntent !=null && myIntent.getExtras()!=null)
     String value = myIntent.getExtras().getString(key);
}

NOTE: Bundles have "get" and "put" methods for all the primitive types, Parcelables, and Serializables. I just used Strings for demonstrational purposes.

How to find the extension of a file in C#?

At the server you can check the MIME type, lookup flv mime type here or on google.

You should be checking that the mime type is

video/x-flv

If you were using a FileUpload in C# for instance, you could do

FileUpload.PostedFile.ContentType == "video/x-flv"

Javascript setInterval not working

Change setInterval("func",10000) to either setInterval(funcName, 10000) or setInterval("funcName()",10000). The former is the recommended method.

matplotlib colorbar in each subplot

Please have a look at this matplotlib example page. There it is shown how to get the following plot with four individual colorbars for each subplot: enter image description here

I hope this helps.
You can further have a look here, where you can find a lot of what you can do with matplotlib.

Converting a SimpleXML Object to an Array

Just (array) is missing in your code before the simplexml object:

...

$xml   = simplexml_load_string($string, 'SimpleXMLElement', LIBXML_NOCDATA);

$array = json_decode(json_encode((array)$xml), TRUE);
                                 ^^^^^^^

The controller for path was not found or does not implement IController

I've found it.

When a page, that is located inside an area, wants to access a controller that is located outside of this area (such as a shared layout page or a certain page inside a different area), the area of this controller needs to be added. Since the common controller is not in a specific area but part of the main project, you have to leave area empty:

@Html.Action("MenuItems", "Common", new {area="" })

The above needs to be added to all of the actions and actionlinks since the layout page is shared throughout the various areas.

It's exactly the same problem as here: ASP.NET MVC Areas with shared layout

Edit: To be clear, this is marked as the answer because it was the answer for my problem. The above answers might solve the causes that trigger the same error.

$(document).ready equivalent without jQuery

Nowadays you should use modules. Put your code into the default function of a module and import the function into a script element.

client.js:

export default function ()
{
  alert ("test");
}

index.html:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title>test</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <script type="module">
      import main from './client.js';
      main ();
    </script>
  </body>
</html>

MySQL stored procedure return value

You have done the stored procedure correctly but I think you have not referenced the valido variable properly. I was looking at some examples and they have put an @ symbol before the parameter like this @Valido

This statement SELECT valido; should be like this SELECT @valido;

Look at this link mysql stored-procedure: out parameter. Notice the solution with 7 upvotes. He has reference the parameter with an @ sign, hence I suggested you add an @ sign before your parameter valido

I hope that works for you. if it does vote up and mark it as the answer. If not, tell me.

how to display full stored procedure code?

You can also get by phpPgAdmin if you are configured it in your system,

Step 1: Select your database

Step 2: Click on find button

Step 3: Change search option to functions then click on Find.

You will get the list of defined functions.You can search functions by name also, hope this answer will help others.

Browserslist: caniuse-lite is outdated. Please run next command `npm update caniuse-lite browserslist`

I found a short cut rather than going through vs code appData/webCompiler, I added it as a dependency to my project with this cmd npm i caniuse-lite browserslist. But you might install it globally to avoid adding it to each project.

After installation, you could remove it from your project package.json and do npm i.

Update:

In case, Above solution didn't fix it. You could run npm update, as this would upgrade deprecated/outdated packages.

Note:

After you've run the npm update, there may be missing dependencies. Trace the error and install the missing dependencies. Mine was nodemon, which I fix by npm i nodemon -g

How to query between two dates using Laravel and Eloquent?

Another option if your field is datetime instead of date (although it works for both cases):

$fromDate = "2016-10-01";
$toDate   = "2016-10-31";

$reservations = Reservation::whereRaw(
  "(reservation_from >= ? AND reservation_from <= ?)",
  [$fromDate." 00:00:00", $toDate." 23:59:59"]
)->get();

unique object identifier in javascript

Typescript version of @justin answer, ES6 compatible, using Symbols to prevent any key collision and added into the global Object.id for convenience. Just copy paste the code below, or put it into an ObjecId.ts file you will import.

(enableObjectID)();

declare global {
    interface ObjectConstructor {
        id: (object: any) => number;
    }
}

const uniqueId: symbol = Symbol('The unique id of an object');

export function enableObjectID(): void {
    if (typeof Object['id'] !== 'undefined') {
        return;
    }

    let id: number = 0;

    Object['id'] = (object: any) => {
        const hasUniqueId: boolean = !!object[uniqueId];
        if (!hasUniqueId) {
            object[uniqueId] = ++id;
        }

        return object[uniqueId];
    };
}

Example of usage:

console.log(Object.id(myObject));

How to load a resource bundle from a file resource in Java?

Difference between VARCHAR2(10 CHAR) and NVARCHAR2(10)

I don't think answer from Vincent Malgrat is correct. When NVARCHAR2 was introduced long time ago nobody was even talking about Unicode.

Initially Oracle provided VARCHAR2 and NVARCHAR2 to support localization. Common data (include PL/SQL) was hold in VARCHAR2, most likely US7ASCII these days. Then you could apply NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET individually (e.g. WE8ISO8859P1) for each of your customer in any country without touching the common part of your application.

Nowadays character set AL32UTF8 is the default which fully supports Unicode. In my opinion today there is no reason anymore to use NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET, i.e. NVARCHAR2, NCHAR2, NCLOB. Note, there are more and more Oracle native functions which do not support NVARCHAR2, so you should really avoid it. Maybe the only reason is when you have to support mainly Asian characters where AL16UTF16 consumes less storage compared to AL32UTF8.

How to start Activity in adapter?

First Solution:

You can call start activity inside your adapter like this:

public class YourAdapter extends Adapter {
     private Context context;

     public YourAdapter(Context context) {
          this.context = context;
     }

     public View getView(...){
         View v;
         v.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {
             void onClick() {
                 context.startActivity(...);
             }
         });
     }
}

Second Solution:

You can call onClickListener of your button out of the YourAdapter class. Follow these steps:

Craete an interface like this:

public YourInterface{
         public void  yourMethod(args...);
}

Then inside your adapter:

    public YourAdapter extends BaseAdapter{
               private YourInterface listener;

           public YourAdapter (Context context, YourInterface listener){
                    this.listener = listener;
                    this.context = context;
           }

           public View getView(...){
                View v;
         v.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {
             void onClick() {
                 listener.yourMethod(args);
             }
         });
}

And where you initiate yourAdapter will be like this:

YourAdapter adapter = new YourAdapter(getContext(), (args) -> {
            startActivity(...);
        });

How can I roll back my last delete command in MySQL?

If you want rollback data, firstly you need to execute autocommit =0 and then execute query delete, insert, or update.

After executing the query then execute rollback...

How to use wget in php?

wget

wget is a linux command, not a PHP command, so to run this you woud need to use exec, which is a PHP command for executing shell commands.

exec("wget --http-user=[user] --http-password=[pass] http://www.example.com/file.xml");

This can be useful if you are downloading a large file - and would like to monitor the progress, however when working with pages in which you are just interested in the content, there are simple functions for doing just that.

The exec function is enabled by default, but may be disabled in some situations. The configuration options for this reside in your php.ini, to enable, remove exec from the disabled_functions config string.

alternative

Using file_get_contents we can retrieve the contents of the specified URL/URI. When you just need to read the file into a variable, this would be the perfect function to use as a replacement for curl - follow the URI syntax when building your URL.

// standard url
$content = file_get_contents("http://www.example.com/file.xml");

// or with basic auth
$content = file_get_contents("http://user:[email protected]/file.xml");

As noted by Sean the Bean - you may also need to change allow_url_fopen to true in your php.ini to allow the use of a URL in this method, however, this should be true by default.

If you want to then store that file locally, there is a function file_put_contents to write that into a file, combined with the previous, this could emulate a file download:

file_put_contents("local_file.xml", $content);

Java web start - Unable to load resource

i got the same issue, i updated the hosts file with the server address and it worked

Why use #ifndef CLASS_H and #define CLASS_H in .h file but not in .cpp?

.cpp files are not included (using #include) into other files. Therefore they don't need include guarding. Main.cpp will know the names and signatures of the class that you have implemented in class.cpp only because you have specified all that in class.h - this is the purpose of a header file. (It is up to you to make sure that class.h accurately describes the code you implement in class.cpp.) The executable code in class.cpp will be made available to the executable code in main.cpp thanks to the efforts of the linker.

How can I export the schema of a database in PostgreSQL?

In Linux you can do like this

pg_dump -U postgres -s postgres > exportFile.dmp

Maybe it can work in Windows too, if not try the same with pg_dump.exe

pg_dump.exe -U postgres -s postgres > exportFile.dmp
