make sure that your path is pointing to .exe file in C:\Program Files\7-Zip (may in bin directory)

A magic number can also be a number with special, hardcoded semantics. For example, I once saw a system where record IDs > 0 were treated normally, 0 itself was "new record", -1 was "this is the root" and -99 was "this was created in the root". 0 and -99 would cause the WebService to supply a new ID.

What's bad about this is that you're reusing a space (that of signed integers for record IDs) for special abilities. Maybe you'll never want to create a record with ID 0, or with a negative ID, but even if not, every person who looks either at the code or at the database might stumble on this and be confused at first. It goes without saying those special values weren't well-documented.

Arguably, 22, 7, -12 and 620 count as magic numbers, too. ;-)

This works for me:

Here is another take on the same thing which worked better for the situation I was in. It solves the problem where you have more than one remote, would like to clone all branches in remote source to remote destination but without having to check them all out beforehand.

(The problem I had with Daniel's solution was that it would refuse to checkout a tracking branch from the source remote if I had previously checked it out already, ie, it would not update my local branch before the push)

• annotated tags: full objects stored in the Git database. They’re checksummed; contain the tagger name, e-mail, and date; have a tagging message; and can be signed and verified with GNU Privacy Guard (GPG).
• lightweight tags: simple pointer to an existing commit

Note: the git ready article on tagging disapproves of lightweight tag.

Without arguments, git tag creates a “lightweight” tag that is basically a branch that never moves.
Lightweight tags are still useful though, perhaps for marking a known good (or bad) version, or a bunch of commits you may need to use in the future.
Nevertheless, you probably don’t want to push these kinds of tags.

Normally, you want to at least pass the -a option to create an unsigned tag, or sign the tag with your GPG key via the -s or -u options.

That being said, Charles Bailey points out that a 'git tag -m "..."' actually implies a proper (unsigned annotated) tag (option '-a'), and not a lightweight one. So you are good with your initial command.

This differs from:

git show-ref --tags -d

Which lists tags with their commits (see "Git Tag list, display commit sha1 hashes").
Note the -d in order to dereference the annotated tag object (which have their own commit SHA1) and display the actual tagged commit.

Similarly, git show --name-only <aTag> would list the tag and associated commit.

I had this problem on Mac OS X. We don't have a /proc virtual file system, so the accepted solution cannot work.

We do, instead, have a F_GETPATH command for fcntl:

You can't render a partial view using only jQuery. You can, however, call a method (action) that will render the partial view for you and add it to the page using jQuery/AJAX. In the below, we have a button click handler that loads the url for the action from a data attribute on the button and fires off a GET request to replace the DIV contained in the partial view with the updated contents.

When you request your JSON file, server returns JavaScript Content-Type header (text/javascript) instead of JSON (application/json).

According to MooTools docs:

Responses with javascript content-type will be evaluated automatically.

In result MooTools tries to evaluate your JSON as JavaScript, and when you try to evaluate such JSON:

{"votes":47,"totalvotes":90}

as JavaScript, parser treats { and } as a block scope instead of object notation. It is the same as evaluating following "code":

"votes":47,"totalvotes":90

As you can see, : is totally unexpected there.

The solution is to set correct Content-Type header for the JSON file. If you save it with .json extension, your server should do it by itself.

The short answer is that not only is static useful, it is pretty well always going to be desired.

First, note that static and constexpr are completely independent of each other. static defines the object's lifetime during execution; constexpr specifies that the object should be available during compilation. Compilation and execution are disjoint and discontiguous, both in time and space. So once the program is compiled, constexpr is no longer relevant.

Every variable declared constexpr is implicitly const but const and static are almost orthogonal (except for the interaction with static const integers.)

The C++ object model (§1.9) requires that all objects other than bit-fields occupy at least one byte of memory and have addresses; furthermore all such objects observable in a program at a given moment must have distinct addresses (paragraph 6). This does not quite require the compiler to create a new array on the stack for every invocation of a function with a local non-static const array, because the compiler could take refuge in the as-if principle provided it can prove that no other such object can be observed.

That's not going to be easy to prove, unfortunately, unless the function is trivial (for example, it does not call any other function whose body is not visible within the translation unit) because arrays, more or less by definition, are addresses. So in most cases, the non-static const(expr) array will have to be recreated on the stack at every invocation, which defeats the point of being able to compute it at compile time.

On the other hand, a local static const object is shared by all observers, and furthermore may be initialized even if the function it is defined in is never called. So none of the above applies, and a compiler is free not only to generate only a single instance of it; it is free to generate a single instance of it in read-only storage.

So you should definitely use static constexpr in your example.

However, there is one case where you wouldn't want to use static constexpr. Unless a constexpr declared object is either ODR-used or declared static, the compiler is free to not include it at all. That's pretty useful, because it allows the use of compile-time temporary constexpr arrays without polluting the compiled program with unnecessary bytes. In that case, you would clearly not want to use static, since static is likely to force the object to exist at runtime.

With Oracle 11g R2 (at least with 11.2.02) there is a view named datapump_dir_objs.

The view shows the NAME of the directory object, the PATH as well as READ and WRITE permissions for the currently connected user. It does not show any directory objects which the current user has no permission to read from or write to, though.

It's safer to add the underscore or $ to the term you're searching for so it's less likely to match other elements which end in the same ID:

The query() function returns an object, you'll want fetch a record from what's returned from that function. Look at the examples on this page to learn how to print data from mysql

I know that this approach has been taken before, But I believe that using tables, the layout can be generated easily, Though this may not be the best practice.

You're mostly correct: most of the time, std::for_each is a net loss. I'd go so far as to compare for_each to goto. goto provides the most versatile flow-control possible -- you can use it to implement virtually any other control structure you can imagine. That very versatility, however, means that seeing a goto in isolation tells you virtually nothing about what's it's intended to do in this situation. As a result, almost nobody in their right mind uses goto except as a last resort.

Among the standard algorithms, for_each is much the same way -- it can be used to implement virtually anything, which means that seeing for_each tells you virtually nothing about what it's being used for in this situation. Unfortunately, people's attitude toward for_each is about where their attitude toward goto was in (say) 1970 or so -- a few people had caught onto the fact that it should be used only as a last resort, but many still consider it the primary algorithm, and rarely if ever use any other. The vast majority of the time, even a quick glance would reveal that one of the alternatives was drastically superior.

Just for example, I'm pretty sure I've lost track of how many times I've seen people writing code to print out the contents of a collection using for_each. Based on posts I've seen, this may well be the single most common use of for_each. They end up with something like:

And their post is asking about what combination of bind1st, mem_fun, etc. they need to make something like:

Fortunately, there is a much better way. Add a normal stream inserter overload for XXX:

The SUM function will add up all rows, so the order by clause is useless, instead you will have to use the group by clause.

You can't use a switch statement for this as the case values cannot be evaluated expressions. For this you have to use an an if/else ...

I also took the liberty of tidying up your conditional statement. There is no need to cast to string after calling ToString(). This will always return a string anyway. When comparing strings for equality, bare in mind that using the == operator will result in a case sensitive comparison. Better to use string compare = 0 with the last argument to set case sensitive on/off.

it depends, by that I mean it depends on what shell you are using. here are the constraints I see:

1. must run in the same process as your shell, to catch aliases and functions and variables that would effect the commands you can find, think PATH or EDITOR although EDITOR might be out of scope. You can have unexported variables that can effect things.
2. it is shell specific or your going off into the kernel, /proc/pid/enviorn and friends do not have enough information

I use ZSH so here is a zsh answer, it does the following 3 things:

1. dumps path
2. dumps alias names
3. dumps functions that are in the env
4. sorts them

here it is:

I didn't need the full JDK, I just needed to make JRE work and none of the other answers provided above worked for me. Maybe it used to work, but now (1st Jul 2018) it isn't working. I just kept getting the error and the pop-up.

I eventually solved this issue by placing the following JAVA_HOME export in ~/.bash_profile:

The intention is that this option will be used in conjunction with --add-gnu-debuglink to create a two part executable. One a stripped binary which will occupy less space in RAM and in a distribution and the second a debugging information file which is only needed if debugging abilities are required.

Any class that can be serialized (i.e. implements Serializable) should declare that UID and it must be changed whenever anything changes that affects the serialization (additional fields, removed fields, change of field order, ...). The field's value is checked during deserialization and if the value of the serialized object does not equal the value of the class in the current VM, an exception is thrown.

It appears you could use a list instead of a tuple. This becomes more important I think when you are grabbing attributes instead of 'magic indexes' of a list/tuple.

In my case I wanted to sort by multiple attributes of a class, where the incoming keys were strings. I needed different sorting in different places, and I wanted a common default sort for the parent class that clients were interacting with; only having to override the 'sorting keys' when I really 'needed to', but also in a way that I could store them as lists that the class could share

So first I defined a helper method

This will use the generated lambda function sort the list by object.attrA and then object.attrB assuming object has a getter corresponding to the string names provided. And the second case would sort by object.attrC then object.attrA.

This also allows you to potentially expose outward sorting choices to be shared alike by a consumer, a unit test, or for them to perhaps tell you how they want sorting done for some operation in your api by only have to give you a list and not coupling them to your back end implementation.

Here is the solution I ended up using and works fabulously. I use $(this).text() instead because I am just using a one line div that is content editable. But you may also use .html() this way you dont have to worry about the scope of a global/non-global variable and the before is actually attached to the editor div.

This works for me well:) As it has been already mentioned above "The font tag has been deprecated, at least in XHTML. It always safe to use span tag. font may not give you desire results, at least in my case it didn't.

To get 'dataX = urllib.urlopen(url).read()' working in python3 (this would have been correct for python2) you must just change 2 little things.

1: The urllib statement itself (add the .request in the middle):

You could convert the dataframe to be a single column with stack (this changes the shape from 5x3 to 15x1) and then take the standard deviation:

A couple of additional notes:

The speed difference will depend on the size of your data, but numpy was roughly 10x faster when I tested a few different sized dataframes on my laptop (numpy version 1.15.4 and pandas version 0.23.4).

• The numpy and pandas approaches here will not give exactly the same answers, but will be extremely close (identical at several digits of precision). The discrepancy is due to slight differences in implementation behind the scenes that affect how the floating point values get rounded.

BackgroundWorker is not the answer because it may be that I don't get the progress notification...

What on earth does the fact that you're not getting progress notification have to do with the use of BackgroundWorker? If your long-running task doesn't have a reliable mechanism for reporting its progress, there's no way to reliably report its progress.

The simplest possible way to report progress of a long-running method is to run the method on the UI thread and have it report progress by updating the progress bar and then calling Application.DoEvents(). This will, technically, work. But the UI will be unresponsive between calls to Application.DoEvents(). This is the quick and dirty solution, and as Steve McConnell observes, the problem with quick and dirty solutions is that the bitterness of the dirty remains long after the sweetness of the quick is forgotten.

The next simplest way, as alluded to by another poster, is to implement a modal form that uses a BackgroundWorker to execute the long-running method. This provides a generally better user experience, and it frees you from having to solve the potentially complicated problem of what parts of your UI to leave functional while the long-running task is executing - while the modal form is open, none of the rest of your UI will respond to user actions. This is the quick and clean solution.

But it's still pretty user-hostile. It still locks up the UI while the long-running task is executing; it just does it in a pretty way. To make a user-friendly solution, you need to execute the task on another thread. The easiest way to do that is with a BackgroundWorker.

This approach opens the door to a lot of problems. It won't "leak," whatever that is supposed to mean. But whatever the long-running method is doing, it now has to do it in complete isolation from the pieces of the UI that remain enabled while it's running. And by complete, I mean complete. If the user can click anywhere with a mouse and cause some update to be made to some object that your long-running method ever looks at, you'll have problems. Any object that your long-running method uses which can raise an event is a potential road to misery.

It's that, and not getting BackgroundWorker to work properly, that's going to be the source of all of the pain.

Beware that file_get_contents solution doesn't close the connection as it should when a server returns Connection: close in the HTTP header.

CURL solution, on the other hand, terminates the connection so the PHP script is not blocked by waiting for a response.

If you know you're always going to use bash, it's much easier to always use the double bracket conditional compound command [[ ... ]], instead of the Posix-compatible single bracket version [ ... ]. Inside a [[ ... ]] compound, word-splitting and pathname expansion are not applied to words, so you can rely on

to compare the value of $aug1 with the string and.

If you use [ ... ], you always need to remember to double quote variables like this:

If you don't quote the variable expansion and the variable is undefined or empty, it vanishes from the scene of the crime, leaving only

I forgot to add my own answer here. I was using Ruby on Rails so it might not be applicable to your projects in PHP or other frameworks. In my case, I was using Carrierwave gem for uploading the images. My solution was to add the following code to the uploader class to fix the EXIF problem before saving the file.

To make the images flexible, simply add max-width:100% and height:auto. Image max-width:100% and height:auto works in IE7, but not in IE8 (yes, another weird IE bug). To fix this, you need to add width:auto\9 for IE8.

There are way too many ways to possibly discuss that you probably don't care about. You can hack of course - strace bash, or do all sorts of black magic running Bash in gdb.

You actually have two completely different examples there. <<<'string' is already writing a string to a file. If anything is acceptable other than printf, echo, and cat, you can use many other commands to behave like cat (sed, awk, tee, etc).

$ cp /dev/stdin ./tmpfooblah <<<'hello world'; cat tmpfooblah
hello world

Or hell, depending on how you've compiled Bash.

If you want to use only bash strings and redirection, in pure bash, with no hacking, and no loadables, it is not possible. In ksh93 however, it is possible.

For new projects, I've started having every class I write extend the same base class where I can put all the utility methods that are annoyingly missing from Java like this one, the equivalent for collections (tired of writing list != null && ! list.isEmpty()), null-safe equals, etc. I still use Apache Commons for the implementation but this saves a small amount of typing and I haven't seen any negative effects.

Alexphi's suggestion is good. You can also hard code this by first creating a variable as a Variant and then assigning it to Empty. Then do an if/then with to possibly fill it. If it gets filled, it's not empty, if it doesn't, it remains empty. You check this then with IsEmpty.

I am using Vagrant with a Puphpet setup from May 2015 and had this problem. It appears that the configuration that was generated didn't handle Vagrant 1.7.4 (or maybe a bit earlier?) behavior of regenerating ssh keys if it detects an insecure key.

I solved it by adding the following in my Puphpet generated Vagrantfile (local setup) inside the "if File.file?(customKey)" clause:

You just can't return the value directly because it is an async call. An async call means it is running in the background (actually scheduled for later execution) while your code continues to execute.

You also can't have such code in the class directly. It needs to be moved into a method or the constructor.

What you can do is not to subscribe() directly but use an operator like map()

are arrow functions. They are similar to normal functions. These functions are passed to subscribe(...) or map(...) to be called from the observable when data arrives from the response. This is why data can't be returned directly, because when someMethod() is completed, the data wasn't received yet.

There are 3 levels of git config; project, global and system.

• project: Project configs are only available for the current project and stored in .git/config in the project's directory.
• global: Global configs are available for all projects for the current user and stored in ~/.gitconfig.
• system: System configs are available for all the users/projects and stored in /etc/gitconfig.

Create a project specific config, you have to execute this under the project's directory:

Create a global config:

$ git config --global user.name "John Doe"

Create a system config:

$ git config --system user.name "John Doe" 

And as you may guess, project overrides global and global overrides system.

Note: Project configs are local to just one particular copy/clone of this particular repo, and need to be reapplied if the repo is recloned clean from the remote. It changes a local file that is not sent to the remote with a commit/push.

I had to change git-rm to git rm in the above to get it to work:

The ls command will only print the name of the file in the directory. Why not do something like

Python doesn't subscribe to the idea that exceptions should only be used for exceptional cases, in fact the idiom is 'ask for forgiveness, not permission'. This means that using exceptions as a routine part of your flow control is perfectly acceptable, and in fact, encouraged.

This is generally a good thing, as working this way helps avoid some issues (as an obvious example, race conditions are often avoided), and it tends to make code a little more readable.

Imagine you have a situation where you take some user input which needs to be processed, but have a default which is already processed. The try: ... except: ... else: ... structure makes for very readable code:

Compare to how it might work in other languages:

Note the advantages. There is no need to check the value is valid and parse it separately, they are done once. The code also follows a more logical progression, the main code path is first, followed by 'if it doesn't work, do this'.

The example is naturally a little contrived, but it shows there are cases for this structure.

Having tried all of the solutions here, I realized none of them were good in all situations:

• works on local branches
• works on detached branches
• works under CI

This command gets all names:

For my application, I had to filter out the HEAD & master refs, prefer remote refs, and strip off the word 'origin/'. and then if that wasn't found, use the first non HEAD ref that didn't have a / or a ( in it.

Table relationships vs. entity relationships

In a relational database system, there can be only three types of table relationships:

• one-to-many (via a Foreign Key column)
• one-to-one (via a shared Primary Key)
• many-to-many (via a link table with two Foreign Keys referencing two separate parent tables)

So, a one-to-many table relationship looks as follows:

Note that the relationship is based on the Foreign Key column (e.g., post_id) in the child table.

So, there is a single source of truth when it comes to managing a one-to-many table relationship.

Now, if you take a bidirectional entity relationship that maps on the one-to-many table relationship we saw previously:

If you take a look at the diagram above, you can see that there are two ways to manage this relationship.

In the Post entity, you have the comments collection:

Because there are two ways to represent the Foreign Key column, you must define which is the source of truth when it comes to translating the association state change into its equivalent Foreign Key column value modification.

MappedBy (a.k.a the inverse side)

The mappedBy attribute tells that the @ManyToOne side is in charge of managing the Foreign Key column, and the collection is used only to fetch the child entities and to cascade parent entity state changes to children (e.g., removing the parent should also remove the child entities).

It's called the inverse side because it references the child entity property that manages this table relationship.

Synchronize both sides of a bidirectional association

Now, even if you defined the mappedBy attribute and the child-side @ManyToOne association manages the Foreign Key column, you still need to synchronize both sides of the bidirectional association.

The best way to do that is to add these two utility methods:

Why are these new categories needed?

The C++ standard contains many rules that deal with the value category of an expression. Some rules make a distinction between lvalue and rvalue. For example, when it comes to overload resolution. Other rules make a distinction between glvalue and prvalue. For example, you can have a glvalue with an incomplete or abstract type but there is no prvalue with an incomplete or abstract type. Before we had this terminology the rules that actually need to distinguish between glvalue/prvalue referred to lvalue/rvalue and they were either unintentionally wrong or contained lots of explaining and exceptions to the rule a la "...unless the rvalue is due to unnamed rvalue reference...". So, it seems like a good idea to just give the concepts of glvalues and prvalues their own name.

What are these new categories of expressions? How do these new categories relate to the existing rvalue and lvalue categories?

We still have the terms lvalue and rvalue that are compatible with C++98. We just divided the rvalues into two subgroups, xvalues and prvalues, and we refer to lvalues and xvalues as glvalues. Xvalues are a new kind of value category for unnamed rvalue references. Every expression is one of these three: lvalue, xvalue, prvalue. A Venn diagram would look like this:

It's good that you ask to do these separately. If you're mixing them, you may be setting yourself up for problems later. The simple answer is:

"545.2222" to float:

Conversions from various bases, and you should know the base in advance (10 is the default). Note you can prefix them with what Python expects for its literals (see below) or remove the prefix:

Yes, pretty much. List<T> is a generic class. It supports storing values of a specific type without casting to or from object (which would have incurred boxing/unboxing overhead when T is a value type in the ArrayList case). ArrayList simply stores object references. As a generic collection, List<T> implements the generic IEnumerable<T> interface and can be used easily in LINQ (without requiring any Cast or OfType call).

ArrayList belongs to the days that C# didn't have generics. It's deprecated in favor of List<T>. You shouldn't use ArrayList in new code that targets .NET >= 2.0 unless you have to interface with an old API that uses it.

I copied and pasted this into my .vimrc file:

This gives details about each assembly, app domain and has a few options to load symbols (i.e. pdb files that contain debug information).

If you want an external tool you can use the Process Explorer (freeware, published by Microsoft)

Have you tried @Lazy loading the datasource? Because you're initialising your embedded Tomcat container within the Spring context, you have to delay the initialisation of your DataSource (until the JNDI vars have been setup).

If you do not want to allow user to enter text TextView is the best option here. Any how you can also add EditText for this purpose. here is a sample code for that.

Use strace is more suitable for this situation.

"Segmentation fault" means that you tried to access memory that you do not have access to.

The first problem is with your arguments of main. The main function should be int main(int argc, char *argv[]), and you should check that argc is at least 2 before accessing argv[1].

Also, since you're passing in a float to printf (which, by the way, gets converted to a double when passing to printf), you should use the %f format specifier. The %s format specifier is for strings ('\0'-terminated character arrays).

If I remember correctly, window.location.reload() reloads the current page with POST data, while window.location.href=window.location.href does not include the POST data.

Firstly, the code in the question does not produce the described output. It extracts the file extension ("txt") and not the file base name ("hello"). To do that the last line should call First(), not Last(), like this...

Though it works if you assume all paths end with a file name with an extension, it will throw an exception if the path ends with \ (i.e. a directory path) or otherwise contains no extension in the last segment. To fix this, we need to add an extra check to account for when endIndex is -1 (i.e. . is not found)...

Note that PHP arrays are vastly different from Python's, combining arrays and dicts into one confused structure. Python arrays always have indices from 0 to len(arr) - 1, so you can check whether your index is in that range. try/catch is a good way to do it pythonically, though.

If you're asking about the hash functionality of PHP "arrays" (Python's dict), then my previous answer still kind of stands:

When granting a user access to a database there are a few considerations to be made with advantages and disadvantages in terms of usability and security. Here we have two options for authenticating and granting permission to users. The first is by giving everyone the sa (systems admin) account access and then restricting the permissions manually by retaining a list of the users in which you can grant or deny permissions as needed. This is also known as the SQL authentication method. There are major security flaws in this method, as listed below. The second and better option is to have the Active Directory (AD) handle all the necessary authentication and authorization, also known as Windows authentication. Once the user logs in to their computer the application will connect to the database using those Windows login credentials on the operating system.

The major security issue with using the SQL option is that it violates the principle of least privilege (POLP) which is to only give the user the absolutely necessary permissions they need and no more. By using the sa account you present serious security flaws. The POLP is violated because when the application uses the sa account they have access to the entire database server. Windows authentication on the other hand follows the POLP by only granting access to one database on the server.

The second issue is that there is no need for every instance of the application to have the admin password. This means any application is a potential attack point for the entire server. Windows only uses the Windows credentials to login to the SQL Server. The Windows passwords are stored in a repository as opposed to the SQL database instance itself and the authentication takes place internally within Windows without having to store sa passwords on the application.

A third security issue arises by using the SQL method involves passwords. As presented on the Microsoft website and various security forums, the SQL method doesn’t’ enforce password changing or encryption, rather they are sent as clear text over the network. And the SQL method doesn’t lockout after failing attempts thus allowing a prolonged attempt to break in. Active Directory however, uses Kerberos protocol to encrypt passwords while employing as well a password change system and lockout after failing attempts.

There are efficiency disadvantages as well. Since you will be requiring the user to enter the credentials every time they want to access the database users may forget their credentials.

If a user being removed you would have to remove his credentials from every instance of the application. If you have to update the sa admin password you would have to update every instance of the SQL server. This is time consuming and unsafe, it leaves open the possibility of a dismissed user retaining access to the SQL Server. With the Windows method none of these concerns arise. Everything is centralized and handled by the AD.

The only advantages of using the SQL method lie in its flexibility. You are able to access it from any operating system and network, even remotely. Some older legacy systems as well as some web-based applications may only support sa access.

The AD method also provides time-saving tools such as groups to make it easier to add and remove users, and user tracking ability.

Even if you manage to correct these security flaws in the SQL method, you would be reinventing the wheel. When considering the security advantages provided by Windows authentication, including password policies and following the POLP, it is a much better choice over the SQL authentication. Therefore it is highly recommended to use the Windows authentication option.

The <button> element, when placed in a form, will submit the form automatically unless otherwise specified. You can use the following 2 strategies:

In order to comply with boneheaded precedent, getYear() returns the number of years since 1900.

Instead, you should call getFullYear(), which returns the actual year.

You can't delete on an array ! This should work better :

But it won't work if the folders are not empty. For this cases, you will need to recursively descend into the folder hierarchy and delete everything. Yes it's a shame Java can't do that by default...

I would use submodules (as Pat Notz) or two distinct repositories. If you modify your binary files too often, then I would try to minimize the impact of the huge repository cleaning the history:

I had a very similar problem several months ago: ~21 GB of MP3 files, unclassified (bad names, bad id3's, don't know if I like that MP3 file or not...), and replicated on three computers.

I used an external hard disk drive with the main Git repository, and I cloned it into each computer. Then, I started to classify them in the habitual way (pushing, pulling, merging... deleting and renaming many times).

At the end, I had only ~6 GB of MP3 files and ~83 GB in the .git directory. I used git-write-tree and git-commit-tree to create a new commit, without commit ancestors, and started a new branch pointing to that commit. The "git log" for that branch only showed one commit.

Then, I deleted the old branch, kept only the new branch, deleted the ref-logs, and run "git prune": after that, my .git folders weighted only ~6 GB...

You could "purge" the huge repository from time to time in the same way: Your "git clone"'s will be faster.

You could use javascript. The other answers to date seem to also target Safari.

Form.Close() sends the proper Windows messages to shut down the win32 window. During that process, if the form was not shown modally, Dispose is called on the form. Disposing the form frees up the unmanaged resources that the form is holding onto.

If you do a form1.Show() or Application.Run(new Form1()), Dispose will be called when Close() is called.

However, if you do form1.ShowDialog() to show the form modally, the form will not be disposed, and you'll need to call form1.Dispose() yourself. I believe this is the only time you should worry about disposing the form yourself.

In PHP assignment expressions always return the assigned value. So $_config[0] =& $config returns $config - but not the variable itself, but a copy of its value. And returning a reference to a temporary value wouldn't be particularly useful (changing it wouldn't do anything).

This thread is probably ancient by now, but this works in html5 for my local file.

For pdfs:

This should open the pdf in a new windows and allow you to download it (in firefox at least). For any other file, just make it the filename. For images and music, you'd want to store them in the same directory as your site though. So it'd be like

One other easy way of doing it would be as follows (if you have a simple NetBeans project and not using maven for example).

1. In Eclipse, Go to File -> New -> Java Project
2. Give a name for your project and click finish to create your project
3. When the project is created find the source folder in NetBeans project, drag and drop all the source files from the NetBeans project to 'src' folder of your new created project in eclipse.
4. Move the java source files to respective package (if required)
5. Now you should be able to run your NetBeans project in Eclipse.

Natively ImageView does not support animated image. You have two options to show animated gif file

1. Use VideoView
2. Use ImageView and Split the gif file into several parts and then apply animation to it

Your query apparently returned all correct dates, even considering the time.

If you're still not happy with the results, give DATEDIFF a shot and look for negaive/positive results between the two dates.

Make sure your mydate column is a datetime type.

You can use Comparator.reverseOrder() to have a comparator giving the reverse of the natural ordering.

If you want to reverse the ordering of an existing comparator, you can use Comparator.reversed().

You should target the smallest, not the largest, supported pixel resolution by the devices your app can run on.

Say if there's an actual Mac computer that can run OS X 10.9 and has a native screen resolution of only 1280x720 then that's the resolution you should focus on. Any higher and your game won't correctly run on this device and you could as well remove that device from your supported devices list.

You can rely on upscaling to match larger screen sizes, but you can't rely on downscaling to preserve possibly important image details such as text or smaller game objects.

The next most important step is to pick a fitting aspect ratio, be it 4:3 or 16:9 or 16:10, that ideally is the native aspect ratio on most of the supported devices. Make sure your game only scales to fit on devices with a different aspect ratio.

You could scale to fill but then you must ensure that on all devices the cropped areas will not negatively impact gameplay or the use of the app in general (ie text or buttons outside the visible screen area). This will be harder to test as you'd actually have to have one of those devices or create a custom build that crops the view accordingly.

Alternatively you can design multiple versions of your game for specific and very common screen resolutions to provide the best game experience from 13" through 27" displays. Optimized designs for iMac (desktop) and a Macbook (notebook) devices make the most sense, it'll be harder to justify making optimized versions for 13" and 15" plus 21" and 27" screens.

But of course this depends a lot on the game. For example a tile-based world game could simply provide a larger viewing area onto the world on larger screen resolutions rather than scaling the view up. Provided that this does not alter gameplay, like giving the player an unfair advantage (specifically in multiplayer).

Maybe I am off the mark here and not understanding the OP but why are you joining tables?

If you have a table with members and this table has a column named "group_id", you can just run a query on the members table to get a count of the members grouped by the group_id.

SELECT group_id, COUNT(*) as membercount 
FROM members 
GROUP BY group_id 
HAVING membercount > 4

This should have the least overhead simply because you are avoiding a join but should still give you what you wanted.

If you want the group details and description etc, then add a join from the members table back to the groups table to retrieve the name would give you the quickest result.

I was able to solve a similar issue by logging the results of the ajax call to the console. This was the html returned and I could easily see any issues that it had.

in my .done() function of my ajax call I added console.log(results) so I could see the html in the debugger console.

It looks like you are trying to read an object from JSON that actually describes an array. Java objects are mapped to JSON objects with curly braces {} but your JSON actually starts with square brackets [] designating an array.

What you actually have is a List<product> To describe generic types, due to Java's type erasure, you must use a TypeReference. Your deserialization could read: myProduct = objectMapper.readValue(productJson, new TypeReference<List<product>>() {});

A couple of other notes: your classes should always be PascalCased. Your main method can just be public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception which saves you all the useless catch blocks.
