There is no standard C (or C++) way to enumerate files in a directory.

Under Windows you can use the FindFirstFile/FindNextFile functions to enumerate all entries in a directory. Under Linux/OSX use the opendir/readdir/closedir functions.

I would rather use plt.clf() after every plt.show() to just clear the current figure instead of closing and reopening it, keeping the window size and giving you a better performance and much better memory usage.

Similarly, you could do plt.cla() to just clear the current axes.

To clear a specific axes, useful when you have multiple axes within one figure, you could do for example:

I prefer doing a "PAD" to the data. MySql calls it LPAD, but you can work your way around to doing the same thing in SQL Server.

ORDER BY  REPLACE(STR(ColName, 3), SPACE(1), '0') 

This formula will provide leading zeroes based on the Column's length of 3. This functionality is very useful in other situations outside of ORDER BY, so that is why I wanted to provide this option.

Simply to say, Shell is the same as you run a shell script.

Notes:

  1. Make sure use | when running multiple cmds.
  2. Shell won't return errors if the last cmd is success (just like normal shell)
  3. Control it with exit 0/1 if you want to stop ansible when error occurs.

How do AX, AH, AL map onto EAX?

No, that's not quite right.

EAX is the full 32-bit value
AX is the lower 16-bits
AL is the lower 8 bits
AH is the bits 8 through 15 (zero-based)

So AX is composed of AH:AL halves, and is itself the low half of EAX. (The upper half of EAX isn't directly accessible as a 16-bit register; you can shift or rotate EAX if you want to get at it.)

For completeness, in addition to the above, which was based on a 32-bit CPU, 64-bit Intel/AMD CPUs have

RAX, which hold a 64-bit value, and where EAX is mapped to the lower 32 bits.

Session handling is no longer built into Express. This answer refers to the standard session module: https://github.com/expressjs/session

To clear the session data, simply use:

req.session.destroy();

The documentation is a bit useless on this. It says:

Destroys the session, removing req.session, will be re-generated next request. req.session.destroy(function(err) { // cannot access session here })

This does not mean that the current session will be re-loaded on the next request. It means that a clean empty session will be created in your session store on next request. (Presumably the session ID isn't changing, but I have not tested that.)

Disable all table constraints in Oracle

This can be scripted in PL/SQL pretty simply based on the DBA/ALL/USER_CONSTRAINTS system view, but various details make not as trivial as it sounds. You have to be careful about the order in which it is done and you also have to take account of the presence of unique indexes.

The order is important because you cannot drop a unique or primary key that is referenced by a foreign key, and there could be foreign keys on tables in other schemas that reference primary keys in your own, so unless you have ALTER ANY TABLE privilege then you cannot drop those PKs and UKs. Also you cannot switch a unique index to being a non-unique index so you have to drop it in order to drop the constraint (for this reason it's almost always better to implement unique constraints as a "real" constraint that is supported by a non-unique index).

How do I run a PowerShell script when the computer starts?

I have a script that starts a file system watcher as well, but once the script window is closed the watcher dies. It will run all day if I start it from a powershell window and leave it open, but the minute I close it the script stops doing what it is supposed to.
You need to start the script and have it keep powershell open.

Descending order by date filter in AngularJs

You can prefix the argument in orderBy with a '-' to have descending order instead of ascending. I would write it like this:

Gerrit error when Change-Id in commit messages are missing

You might be an admin doing a one-off push directly into refs/changes/<change_number>.

For example, once a commit without Change-Id landed into Subversion, you pull it out of Subversion using git-svn, and you'd like to archive it as a Gerrit patchset into a Gerrit change.

If so, you can go to project settings page (http://[installation-path]/#/admin/projects/[project-id]) and temporarily change "Require Change-Id in commit message" value to False.

Don't forget to afterwards change it back to Inherit or True!

Resolving a Git conflict with binary files

You have to resolve the conflict manually (copying the file over) and then commit the file (no matter if you copied it over or used the local version) like this

git commit -a -m "Fix merge conflict in test.foo"

Git normally autocommits after merging, but when it detects conflicts it cannot solve by itself, it applies all patches it figured out and leaves the rest for you to resolve and commit manually. The Git Merge Man Page, the Git-SVN Crash Course or this blog entry might shed some light on how it's supposed to work.

Edit: See the post below, you don't actually have to copy the files yourself, but can use

git checkout --ours -- path/to/file.txt
git checkout --theirs -- path/to/file.txt

to select the version of the file you want. Copying / editing the file will only be necessary if you want a mix of both versions.

Where does the slf4j log file get saved?

slf4j is only an API. You should have a concrete implementation (for example log4j). This concrete implementation has a config file which tells you where to store the logs.

When slf4j catches a log messages with a logger, it is given to an appender which decides what to do with the message. By default, the ConsoleAppender displays the message in the console.

I think this is right way to check value of EOF. And I checked the output.

For INPUT: abc and Enter I got OUTPUT: 97 98 99 10. ( the ASCII values)

For INPUT Ctrl-D I got OUTPUT: -1 - at EOF. So I think -1 is the value for EOF.

Try other inputs instead of Ctrl-D, like Ctrl-Z. I think it varies from compiler to compiler.

error: cast from 'void*' to 'int' loses precision

Instead of:

int x = (int)arg;

use:

int x = (long)arg;

On most platforms pointers and longs are the same size, but ints and pointers often are not the same size on 64bit platforms. If you convert (void*) to (long) no precision is lost, then by assigning the (long) to an (int), it properly truncates the number to fit.

"Data too long for column" - why?

Very old question, but I tried everything suggested above and still could not get it resolved.

Turns out that, I had after insert/update trigger for the main table which tracked the changes by inserting the record in history table having similar structure. I increased the size in the main table column but forgot to change the size of history table column and that created the problem.

I did similar changes in the other table and error is gone.

You might want to check your matplotlib version.

Somehow I installed a dev version of matplotlib which caused the issue. A downgrade to stable release fixed it.

One can also can try python -v -c 'import YOUR_PACKAGE' 2>&1 | less to see where the issue occurred and if the lines above error can give you some hints.

What's the difference between align-content and align-items?

I had the same confusion. After some tinkering based on many of the answers above, I can finally see the differences. In my humble opinion, the distinction is best demonstrated with a flex container that satisfies the following two conditions:

  1. The flex container itself has a height constraint (e.g., min-height: 60rem) and thus can become too tall for its content
  2. The child items enclosed in the container have uneven heights

Condition 1 helps me understand what content means relative to its parent container. When the content is flush with the container, we will not be able to see any positioning effects coming from align-content. It is only when we have extra space along the cross axis, we start to see its effect: It aligns the content relative to the boundaries of the parent container.

Condition 2 helps me visualize the effects of align-items: it aligns items relative to each other.

It's possible to pass args to npm run since npm 2 (2014). The syntax is as follows:

npm run <command> [-- <args>]

Note the -- separator, used to separate the params passed to npm command itself, and the params passed to your script.

With the example package.json:

Original answer (2013.01): As a some kind of workaround (though not very handy), you can do as follows:

Say your package name from package.json is myPackage and you have also

You should use fgetcsv. Since you cannot import a file as a stream because the csv is a variable, then you should spoof the string as a file by using php://temp or php://memory first:

How does PHP 'foreach' actually work?

PHP foreach loop can be used with Indexed arrays, Associative arrays and Object public variables.

In foreach loop, the first thing php does is that it creates a copy of the array which is to be iterated over. PHP then iterates over this new copy of the array rather than the original one. This is demonstrated in the below example:

If I understand well, you want to Join ScheduleRequest with User and apply the in clause to the userName property of the entity User.

I'd need to work a bit on this schema. But you can try with this trick, that is much more readable than the code you posted, and avoids the Join part (because it handles the Join logic outside the Criteria Query).

Optional arguments only work at the end of a function call. There is no way to specify a value for $y in your function without also specifying $x. Some languages support this via named parameters (VB/C# for example), but not PHP.

Xcode 9 appears to have a "feature" where it will ignore the file's current line endings, and instead just use your default line-ending setting when inserting lines into a file, resulting in files with mixed line endings.

I'm pretty sure this bug didn't exist in Xcode 7; not sure about Xcode 8. The good news is that it appears to be fixed in Xcode 10.

For the time it existed, this bug caused a small amount of hilarity in the codebase I refer to in the question (which to this day uses autocrlf=false), and led to many "EOL" commit messages and eventually to my writing a git pre-commit hook to check for/prevent introducing mixed line endings.

Note: As noted by VonC, starting from Git 2.8, merge markers will not introduce Unix-style line-endings to a Windows-style file.

One little hiccup that I've noticed with this setup is that when there are merge conflicts, the lines git adds to mark up the differences do not have Windows line-endings, even when the rest of the file does, and you can end up with a file with mixed line endings, e.g.:

The DateTime class takes a string in the constructor. If you prefix the timestamp with a @-character you create a DateTime object with the timestamp. For formating use the 'c' format ... a predefined ISO 8601 compound format.

In the subprocess started to execute the type, we include a redirection overwritting the file (so it is emptied). Once the do clause starts to execute (the content of the file is in memory to be processed) the output is appended to the file.

Functional, Declarative, and Imperative Programming

Declarative programming is programming by expressing some timeless logic between the input and the output, for instance, in pseudocode, the following example would be declarative:

We just define a relationship called the 'factorial' here, and defined the relationship between the output and the input as the that relationship. Other, stricter definitions entail that there may be no side-effects at all, these languages are some times called 'purely declarative'.

Declarative languages are often said to specify 'what must be done', as opposed to 'how to do it', I think that is a misnomer, declarative programs still specify how one must get from input to output, but in another way, the relationship you specify must be effectively computable (important term, look it up if you don't know it). Another approach is nondeterministic programming, that really just specifies what conditions a result much meet, before your implementation just goes to exhaust all paths on trial and error until it succeeds.

If you don't trust CMake to have that module, then - yes, do that - sort of: Copy the find_SomeLib.cmake and its dependencies into your cmake/ directory. That's what I do as a fallback. It's an ugly solution though.

Note that the FindFoo.cmake modules are each a sort of a bridge between platform-dependence and platform-independence - they look in various platform-specific places to obtain paths in variables whose names is platform-independent.

There surely must be a good way around it (maybe using reflection), because it seems to me that that's exactly what ArrayList.toArray(T[] a) does. I quote:

Returns an array containing all of the elements in this list in the correct order; the runtime type of the returned array is that of the specified array. If the list fits in the specified array, it is returned therein. Otherwise, a new array is allocated with the runtime type of the specified array and the size of this list.

So one way around it would be to use this function i.e. create an ArrayList of the objects you want in the array, then use toArray(T[] a) to create the actual array. It wouldn't be speedy, but you didn't mention your requirements.

So does anyone know how toArray(T[] a) is implemented?

I think your problem is your version numbers. Try making 8.1 --> 8.01, and so forth. That should put the points in the right order.

Alternatively, you could plot using X, where X is the column number you want, instead of using 1:X. That will plot those values on the y axis and integers on the x axis. Try:

After searching alot got a simple way to solve it. Just follow the steps.

  1. Check status of your listener.
    1. open command prompt and type lsnrctl status
    2. You will get no listener.
  2. Now open listener.ora file which is present in following directory: C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\network\ADMIN

    1. Open that file and change the host parameter with you computer name
    2. You can get your computer name by right click on My Computer and check you computer name, and replace host parameter with your computer name as follows:

      LISTENER = (DESCRIPTION_LIST = (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC1)) (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Electron-PC)(PORT = 1521) ) ) )

      So here you can observe HOST = Electron-PC, which is my computer name.

    3. Save the listener.ora file and again return to cammand propt

    3.Type the following in command prompt lsnrctl start

This will start the OracleTNSListner.

you can check it in the service by opening services tab of Task Manager. if not started automatically you can start it.

Just this much and you are ready to work again on oracle.

Therefore,unless you could keep your data structure simple, I urge you adopt a data transfer framework. If your requests are browser based, the industry usual practice is JSON. If your requests are server-server, than XML is the most convenient framework.

Image.open() cannot identify image file - Python?

In my case, it was because the images I used were stored on a Mac, which generates many hidden files like .image_file.png, so they turned out to not even be the actual images I needed and I could safely ignore the warning or delete the hidden files. It was just an oversight in my case.

The important point: for tags used for ng-repeat-start and ng-repeat-end set ng-if="0", to let not be inserted in the page. In this way the inner content will be handled exactly as it is in knockoutjs (using commands in <!--...-->), and there will be no garbage.

Difference between array_map, array_walk and array_filter

The idea of mapping an function to array of data comes from functional programming. You shouldn't think about array_map as a foreach loop that calls a function on each element of the array (even though that's how it's implemented). It should be thought of as applying the function to each element in the array independently.

In theory such things as function mapping can be done in parallel since the function being applied to the data should ONLY affect the data and NOT the global state. This is because an array_map could choose any order in which to apply the function to the items in (even though in PHP it doesn't).

array_walk on the other hand it the exact opposite approach to handling arrays of data. Instead of handling each item separately, it uses a state (&$userdata) and can edit the item in place (much like a foreach loop). Since each time an item has the $funcname applied to it, it could change the global state of the program and therefor requires a single correct way of processing the items.

Back in PHP land, array_map and array_walk are almost identical except array_walk gives you more control over the iteration of data and is normally used to "change" the data in-place vs returning a new "changed" array.

array_filter is really an application of array_walk (or array_reduce) and it more-or-less just provided for convenience.

To focus on a field, it is better to use the shown.bs.modal in stead of show.bs.modal but maybe for other reasons you want to hide something the the background or set something right before the modal starts showing, use the show.bs.modal function.

How to request Google to re-crawl my website?

There are two options. The first (and better) one is using the Fetch as Google option in Webmaster Tools that Mike Flynn commented about. Here are detailed instructions:

  1. Go to: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ and log in
  2. If you haven't already, add and verify the site with the "Add a Site" button
  3. Click on the site name for the one you want to manage
  4. Click Crawl -> Fetch as Google
  5. Optional: if you want to do a specific page only, type in the URL
  6. Click Fetch
  7. Click Submit to Index
  8. Select either "URL" or "URL and its direct links"
  9. Click OK and you're done.

With the option above, as long as every page can be reached from some link on the initial page or a page that it links to, Google should recrawl the whole thing. If you want to explicitly tell it a list of pages to crawl on the domain, you can follow the directions to submit a sitemap.

Update 2019:

  1. Login to - Google Search Console
  2. Add a site and verify it with the available methods.
  3. After verification from the console, click on URL Inspection.
  4. In the Search bar on top, enter your website URL or custom URLs for inspection and enter.
  5. After Inspection, it'll show an option to Request Indexing
  6. Click on it and GoogleBot will add your website in a Queue for crawling.
