I figured it out, and it's actually pretty straight forward.

Set your variable:

$image1 = "img/products/image1.jpg";

Then ceate a cell, position it, then rather than setting where the image is, use the variable you created above with the following:

$this->Cell( 40, 40, $pdf->Image($image1, $pdf->GetX(), $pdf->GetY(), 33.78), 0, 0, 'L', false );

Now the cell will move up and down with content if other cells around it move.

Hope this helps others in the same boat.

For fpdf to work properly, there cannot be any output at all beside what fpdf generates. For example, this will work:

I don't think there is a real way for calculating the height of the actual resulting text box, unless you use GetY() and then subtract the original Y value used in your SetXY() statement for placing the Multicell in the first place.

Use a .ttf compatible font for the language you want to use. Make sure to choose the encoding number that is correct for your language. Download the files and paste them in your current FPDF font directory.

Use this to activate the new font: $pdf->AddFont($font_name,'','Your_Font_Here.php');

Then you can use $pdf->SetFont normally.

On the font itself, use iconv to convert to UTF-8. So if for example you're using Hebrew, you would do iconv('UTF-8', 'windows-1255', $first_name).

Substitute the windows encoding number for your language encoding.

For right to left, a quick fix is doing something like strrev(iconv('UTF-8', 'windows-1255', $first_name)).

The MultiCell is used for print text with multiple lines. It has the same atributes of Cell except for ln and link.

What multiCell does is to spread the given text into multiple cells, this means that the second parameter defines the height of each line (individual cell) and not the height of all cells (collectively).

WARNING! I have a very strong view on this subject.

.NET’s existing web clients are not developer friendly! WebRequest & WebClient are prime examples of "how to frustrate a developer". They are verbose & complicated to work with; when all you want to do is a simple Post request in C#. HttpClient goes some way in addressing these issues, but it still falls short. On top of that Microsoft’s documentation is bad … really bad; unless you want to sift through pages and pages of technical blurb.

Since AngularJS does not have directive DOM manipulations as jQuery does, a proper way to modify attributes of one element will be using directive. Through link function of a directive, you have access to both element and its attributes.

Wrapping you whole input inside one directive, you can still introduce ng-model's methods through controller property.

This method will help to decouple the logic of ngmodel with placeholder from controller. If there is no logic between them, you can definitely go as Wagner Francisco said.

From my testing, there are three criteria for sorting characters as described below. Aside from this, shorter strings are sorted above longer strings that start with the same characters.

Note: This testing only looked at the first character sorting and did not look into edge cases described by this answer, which found that, for all characters after the first character, numbers take precedence over symbols (i.e. the order is 1. Symbols 2. Numbers 3. Letters for first character, 1. Numbers 2. Symbols 3. Letters after). This answer also indicated that the Unicode/ASCII layer of sorting might not be entirely consistent. It's worth noting that there are really two ways of looking at this. Ultimately, what you have are sorting rules that are applied in a certain order, in turn, this produces an observed order. The ordering of older rules becomes nested under the ordering of newer rules. This means that the first rule applied is the last rule observed, while the last rule applied is the first or topmost rule observed.

Sorting Rule Sequence

1.) Sort on Unicode Value (U+xxxx)
2.) Sort on culture/language
3.) Sort on Type (Symbol, Number, Letter)

Observed Order

• The highest level of grouping is by type in the following order...

  1.) Symbols
  2.) Numbers
  3.) Letters

  Therefore, any symbol from any language comes before any number from any language, while any letter from any language appears after all symbols and numbers.

• The second level of grouping is by culture/language. The following order seems to apply for this:

• The lowest rule observed is Unicode order, so items within a type-language group are ordered by Unicode value (U+xxxx).

You need to make the members in the for the form class either public or, if the service class is in the same assembly, internal. Windows controls' visibility can be controlled through their Modifiers properties.

Note that it's generally considered a bad practice to explicitly tie a service class to a UI class. Rather you should create good interfaces between the service class and the form class. That said, for learning or just generally messing around, the earth won't spin off its axis if you expose form members for service classes.

It's known issue that passing shared_ptr by value has a cost and should be avoided if possible.

The same goes for passing a shared object to a work thread.

Solved post but I'd like to mention my preferred solution. Namely, define a generic one-liner script eval_func.sh:

An issue I ran into with the accepted solution is that when sourcing my function-containing script within another script, the arguments of the latter would be evaluated by the former, causing an error.

The most common way of doing this is to include the binary as base-64 in an element. However, this is a workaround, and adds a bit of volume to the file.

I've played around with select items before and without overriding the functionality with JavaScript, I don't think it's possible in Chrome. Whether you use a plugin or write your own code, CSS only is a no go for Chrome/Safari and as you said, Firefox is better at dealing with it.

It's certainly possible to grab a screenshot using the .NET Framework. The simplest way is to create a new Bitmap object and draw into that using the Graphics.CopyFromScreen method.

To expand upon this point:

It is possible that the args variable itself will be null, but not via normal execution. Normal execution will use java.exe as the entry point from the command line. However, I have seen some programs that use compiled C++ code with JNI to use the jvm.dll, bypassing the java.exe entirely. In this case, it is possible to pass NULL to the main method, in which case args will be null.

I recommend always checking if ((args == null) || (args.length == 0)), or if ((args != null) && (args.length > 0)) depending on your need.

As a mobile developer, I was sad to find nothing native that supports auto resizing. My searches did not turn up anything that worked for me and in the end, I spent the better half of my weekend and created my own auto resize text view. I will post the code here and hopefully it will be useful for someone else.

This class uses a static layout with the text paint of the original text view to measure the height. From there, I step down by 2 font pixels and remeasure until I have a size that fits. At the end, if the text still does not fit, I append an ellipsis. I had requirements to animate the text and reuse views and this seems to work well on the devices I have and seems to run fast enough for me.

So this is way late, but I've discovered an answer, in case it becomes useful to anyone who comes across this thread.

Changes in value to hidden elements don't automatically fire the .change() event. So, wherever it is that you're setting that value, you also have to tell jQuery to trigger it.

The problem in your code is that you can't store the memory address of a local variable (local to a function, for example) in a globlar variable:

There, &rect is a temporary address (stored in the function's activation registry) and will be destroyed when that function end.

The code should create a dynamic variable:

You can use the createRef to change the state of the child component from the parent component. Here are all the steps.

1. Create a method to change the state in the child component.

   2 - Create a reference for the child component in parent component using React.createRef().

   3 - Attach reference with the child component using ref={}.

   4 - Call the child component method using this.yor-reference.current.method.

Also the $wshell = New-Object -ComObject wscript.shell; helped a script that was running in the background, it worked fine with just but adding $wshell. fixed it from running as background! [Microsoft.VisualBasic.Interaction]::AppActivate("App Name")

I also face the similar Issue. Nothing programmer has to do to resolve this error. I informed to my oracle DBA team. They kill the session and worked like a charm.

Just wanted to add that the options to cron seem to have changed. Need to pass -n rather than -D.

The DragListView lib does this really neat with very nice support for custom animations such as elevation animations. It is also still maintained and updated on a regular basis.

Note: strtok modifies the string, so don't hand it a pointer to string literal.

The problem with most of these solutions is that they do not work correctly when changing the cursor position within the input field.

The onmouseup event changes the cursor position within the field, which is fired after onfocus (at least within Chrome and FF). If you unconditionally discard the mouseup then the user cannot change the cursor position with the mouse.

I had the same problem when I wrote two upstreams in NGINX conf

Unrelated to the concrete problem, comparing booleans with booleans makes little sense when the expression expects a boolean outcome already. I'd get rid of == true:

The difference between the thread answer and mine is that mine converts the time to UTC time, which is necessary for e.g. AWS. Otherwise, the original answer from the forum looks like this:

I had a similar issue with an integer that could be legitimately assigned 0 in Access VBA. None of the above solutions worked for me.

At first I just used a boolean var and IF statement:

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function example_app.js:7

This error message tells the whole story. On this line, you are trying to execute a function. However, whatever is being executed is not a function! Instead, it's undefined.

So what's on example_app.js line 7? Looks like this:

There is only one function being run on that line. We found the problem! ExampleApp.Collections.Tasks is undefined.

So lets look at where that is declared:

See how important the proper names and line numbers are in figuring this out? Never ever regard errors as binary (it works or it doesn't). Instead read the error, in most cases the error message itself gives you the critical clues you need to trace through to find the real issue.

In Javascript, when you execute a function, it's evaluated like:

expression.that('returns').aFunctionObject(); // js

That expression can be complex. So when you see undefined is not a function it means that expression did not return a function object. So you have to figure out why what you are trying to execute isn't a function.

ToString() can not handle null values and convert.ToString() can handle values which are null, so when you want your system to handle null value use convert.ToString().

The macro tells your module (i.e your .cpp files) that they are providing the dll stuff to the outside world. People who incude your .h file want to import the same functions, so they sell EXPORT as telling the linker to import. You need to add BUILD_DLL to the project compile options, and you might want to rename it to something obviously specific to your project (in case a dll uses your dll).

You might also need to create a .def file to rename the functions and de-obfuscate the names (C/C++ mangles those names). This blog entry might be an interesting launching off point about that.

Loading your own custom dlls is just like loading system dlls. Just ensure that the DLL is on your system path. C:\windows\ or the working dir of your application are an easy place to put your dll.

I ran through similar problem and found that I was trying to get the offset of footer but I was loading my script inside a div before the footer. It was something like this:

I increased the virtual memory of sdcard up to 512 MB for the emulator and that was enough

I got this error in the context of angular tree control. In my case it was the tree options. I was returning treeOptions() from a function. It was always returning the same object. But Angular magically thinks that its a new object and then cause a digest cycle to kick off. Causing a recursion of digests. The solution was to bind the treeOptions to scope. And assign it just once.

I know this is old but given the IOptions patterns is relatively simple to implement:

1. Class with public get/set properties that match the settings in the configuration

The new filtering feature in Servlet 2.4 basically alleviates the restriction that filters can only operate in the request flow before and after the actual request processing by the application server. Instead, Servlet 2.4 filters can now interact with the request dispatcher at every dispatch point. This means that when a Web resource forwards a request to another resource (for instance, a servlet forwarding the request to a JSP page in the same application), a filter can be operating before the request is handled by the targeted resource. Add an event handler for the Control.DoubleClick event for your ListBox, and in that event handler open up a MessageBox displaying the selected item.

E.g.:

In order to capture deadlock graphs without using a trace (you don't need profiler necessarily), you can enable trace flag 1222. This will write deadlock information to the error log. However, the error log is textual, so you won't get nice deadlock graph pictures - you'll have to read the text of the deadlocks to figure it out.

I would set this as a startup trace flag (in which case you'll need to restart the service). However, you can run it only for the current running instance of the service (which won't require a restart, but which won't resume upon the next restart) using the following global trace flag command:

DBCC TRACEON(1222, -1);

Also note that if your system experiences a lot of deadlocks, this can really hammer your error log, and can become quite a lot of noise, drowning out other, important errors.

SQL Sentry Performance Advisor, for example, has a much nicer deadlock graph, showing you object / index names as well as the order in which the locks were taken. As a bonus, these are captured for you automatically on monitored servers without having to configure trace flags, run your own traces, etc.:

I thought i will add some light to this post on what i know. We used this technique extensively in our recent android project. Instead of creating objects using new operator you can also use static method to instantiate a class. Code listing:

Static methods support conditional object creation: Each time you invoke a constructor an object will get created but you might not want that. suppose you want to check some condition only then you want to create a new object.You would not be creating a new instance of Vinoth each time, unless your condition is satisfied.

Another example taken from Effective Java.

This method translates a boolean primitive value into a Boolean object reference. The Boolean.valueOf(boolean) method illustrates us, it never creates an object. The ability of static factory methods to return the same object from repeated invocations allows classes to maintain strict control over what instances exist at any time.

Static factory methods is that, unlike constructors, they can return an object of any subtype of their return type. One application of this flexibility is that an API can return objects without making their classes public. Hiding implementation classes in this fashion leads to a very compact API.

Calendar.getInstance() is a great example for the above, It creates depending on the locale a BuddhistCalendar, JapaneseImperialCalendar or by default one Georgian.

Another example which i could think is Singleton pattern, where you make your constructors private create an own getInstance method where you make sure, that there is always just one instance available.

This blog post explains this pretty well; essentially, you insert the $timeout wrapper for window.setTimeout before the callback function wherein you make those modifications to the CSS.

Axios is a stand-alone 3rd party package that can be easily installed into a React project using NPM.

The other option you mentioned is the fetch function. Unlike Axios, fetch() is built into most modern browsers. With fetch you do not need to install a third party package.

So its up to you, you can go with fetch() and potentially mess up if you don't know what you are doing OR just use Axios which is more straightforward in my opinion.

floor() will go down.

ceil() will go up.

round() will go to nearest by default.

Divide by 10, do the ceil, then multiply by 10 to reduce the significant digits.

HttpContext.Current was removed in ASP.NET Core. Accessing the current HTTP context from a separate class library is the type of messy architecture that ASP.NET Core tries to avoid. There are a few ways to re-architect this in ASP.NET Core.

HttpContext property

You can access the current HTTP context via the HttpContext property on any controller. The closest thing to your original code sample would be to pass HttpContext into the method you are calling:

I have not been able to find a Firefox option equivalent of --disable-web-security or an addon that does that for me. I really needed it for some testing scenarios where modifying the web server was not possible. What did help was to use Fiddler to auto-modify web responses so that they have the correct headers and CORS is no longer an issue.

The steps are:

1. Open fiddler.

2. If on https go to menu Tools -> Options -> Https and tick the Capture & Decrypt https options

3. Go to menu Rules -> Customize rules. Modify the OnBeforeResponseFunction so that it looks like the following, then save:

Add a new rule and response: METHOD:OPTIONS https://yoursite.com/ with auto response: *CORSPreflightAllow and tick the boxes: "Enable Rules" and "Unmatched requests passthrough".

Rather than trying to output to the console, Log will output to LogCat which you can find in Eclipse by going to: Window->Show View->Other…->Android->LogCat

The benefits of using LogCat are that you can print different colours depending on your log type, e.g.: Log.d prints blue, Log.e prints orange. Also you can filter by log tag, log message, process id and/or by application name. This is really useful when you just want to see your app's logs and keep the other system stuff separate.

So both look exactly same after compilation. In managed languages code is converted into CL/byte code and at time of execution it's converted into machine language. So in machine language a double may not even be created on the stack. It may just be a register as code reflect that it is a temporary variable for WriteLine function. There are a whole set optimization rules just for loops. So the average guy shouldn't be worried about it, especially in managed languages. There are cases when you can optimize manage code, for example, if you have to concatenate a large number of strings using just string a; a+=anotherstring[i] vs using StringBuilder. There is very big difference in performance between both. There are a lot of such cases where the compiler cannot optimize your code, because it cannot figure out what is intended in a bigger scope. But it can pretty much optimize basic things for you.

To specifically answer your question Why is the code1 used if we can use code2? I might suggest that the programmer was thinking in a mathematically broader sense. Specifically, perhaps the broader equation is a power equation, and the fact that both first numbers are "2" is more coincidence than mathematical reality. I'd want to make sure that the broader context of the code supports it being

git rm --cached is used to remove a file from the index. In the case where the file is already in the repo, git rm --cached will remove the file from the index, leaving it in the working directory and a commit will now remove it from the repo as well. Basically, after the commit, you would have unversioned the file and kept a local copy.

git reset HEAD file ( which by default is using the --mixed flag) is different in that in the case where the file is already in the repo, it replaces the index version of the file with the one from repo (HEAD), effectively unstaging the modifications to it.

In the case of unversioned file, it is going to unstage the entire file as the file was not there in the HEAD. In this aspect git reset HEAD file and git rm --cached are same, but they are not same ( as explained in the case of files already in the repo)

To the question of Why are there 2 ways to unstage a file in git? - there is never really only one way to do anything in git. that is the beauty of it :)

If you use YSlow with Firebug and analyse your page performance, YSlow will certainly tell you what artifacts on your page are not gzip'd!

To get a fully qualified name for a machine, we must first get the local hostname, and then lookup the canonical name.

The easiest way to do this is by first getting the local hostname using uname() or gethostname() and then performing a lookup with gethostbyname() and looking at the h_name member of the struct it returns. If you are using ANSI c, you must use uname() instead of gethostname().

I think what you want to think about are the various pumping lemmata. A regular language can be recognized by a finite automaton. A context-free language requires a stack, and a context sensitive language requires two stacks (which is equivalent to saying it requires a full Turing machine.)

So, if we think about the pumping lemma for regular languages, what it says, essentially, is that any regular language can be broken down into three pieces, x, y, and z, where all instances of the language are in xy*z (where * is Kleene repetition, ie, 0 or more copies of y.) You basically have one "nonterminal" that can be expanded.

Now, what about context-free languages? You could insert both the key,value pair and its inverse into your map structure, but would have to convert the Integer to a string:

It's a quick and dirty way that I've made constant maps, which will only work for a select few datasets:

• Contains only 1 to 1 pairs

It has been three years since this question was asked, but I am just now coming across it. Since this answer is so far down the stack, please allow me to repeat it:

Q: I am interested if there are any limits to what types of values can be set using const in JavaScript—in particular functions. Is this valid? Granted it does work, but is it considered bad practice for any reason?

I was motivated to do some research after observing one prolific JavaScript coder who always uses const statement for functions, even when there is no apparent reason/benefit.

In answer to "is it considered bad practice for any reason?" let me say, IMO, yes it is, or at least, there are advantages to using function statement.

It seems to me that this is largely a matter of preference and style. There are some good arguments presented above, but none so clear as is done in this article:

I urge everyone to read that article, even if you have already made a decision.

Function statements have two clear advantages over [const] function expressions:

Advantage #1: Clarity of intent

When scanning through thousands of lines of code a day, it’s useful to be able to figure out the programmer’s intent as quickly and easily as possible.

Advantage #2: Order of declaration == order of execution

Ideally, I want to declare my code more or less in the order that I expect it will get executed.

This is the showstopper for me: any value declared using the const keyword is inaccessible until execution reaches it.

My brain doesn’t work that way. I want the context before the details.

Most code is written by humans. So it makes sense that most people’s order of understanding roughly follows most code’s order of execution.

Adding to @StriplingWarrior's answer about bit flags in enums, there's an easy convention you can use in hexadecimal for counting upwards through the bit shifts. Use the sequence 1-2-4-8, move one column to the left, and repeat.

To answer the original question, I second @Sahuagin's suggestion to use hexadecimal literals. If you're working with binary numbers often enough for this to be a concern, it's worth your while to get the hang of hexadecimal.

If you need to see binary numbers in source code, I suggest adding comments with binary literals like I have above.

The u means the strings are unicode. Translate all the strings to ascii to get rid of it:

a.encode('ascii', 'ignore')

It is likely that you do not have the IUSR_computername permission on that folder. I've just had a quick scan and it looks like you will find the information you need here.

If that isn't the case, are you prompted for your username and password by the browser? If so it may be that IIS is configured to use Integrated authentication only, as described here.

You could also tell MySQL to execute the commands in the given file, like so:

mysql --user=root --password=sa casemanager < CaseManager.sql

on my Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit. I edit the command to:

ln -s /usr/lib/jni/libswt-* ~/.swt/lib/linux/x86/

And on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit try:

ln -s /usr/lib/jni/libswt-* ~/.swt/lib/linux/x86_64/
