Every process running under the Linux kernel receives its own, unique environment that it inherits from its parent. In this case, the parent will be either a shell itself (spawning a sub shell), or the 'login' program (on a typical system).

As each process' environment is protected, there is no way to 'inject' an environmental variable to every running process, so even if you modify the default shell .rc / profile, it won't go into effect until each process exits and reloads its start up settings.

Look in /etc/ to modify the default start up variables for any particular shell. Just realize that users can (and often do) change them in their individual settings.

Unix is designed to obey the user, within limits.

NB: Bash is not the only shell on your system. Pay careful attention to what the /bin/sh symbolic link actually points to. On many systems, this could actually be dash which is (by default, with no special invocation) POSIXLY correct. Therefore, you should take care to modify both defaults, or scripts that start with /bin/sh will not inherit your global defaults. Similarly, take care to avoid syntax that only bash understands when editing both, aka avoiding bashisms.

Another addition to make:

If you're dynamically adding an input, for example using append(), you must use the jQuery on() function.

In order to download non-existing jar file in your .m2 directory, you should run mvn clean install command for your project pom.xml. Then you should update the project dependencies by clicking Alt+F5. This works for me!

The command has to be entered in the directory of the repository. The error is complaining that your current directory isn't a git repo

1. Are you in the right directory? Does typing ls show the right files?
2. Have you initialized the repository yet? Typed git init? (git-init documentation)

Either of those would cause your error.

Simply parsing the JSON and comparing the two objects is not enough because it wouldn't be the exact same object references (but might be the same values).

I know how to create a custom row + custom array adapter to support a custom row for the entire list view. But how can one listview support many different row styles?

You already know the basics. You just need to get your custom adapter to return a different layout/view based on the row/cursor information being provided.

A ListView can support multiple row styles because it derives from AdapterView:

An AdapterView is a view whose children are determined by an Adapter.

If you look at the Adapter, you'll see methods that account for using row-specific views:

Look up the specific examples/tutorials for the kind of adapter you end up using.

I had the same issue and took a whole day to figure out the problem. This error message by Facebook SDK is very vague. I had this problem due to openURL: method being overwritten in MyApplication. I removed the overwritten method and facebook login worked fine.

The registry is a no-go. You're not sure whether the user which uses your application, has sufficient rights to write to the registry.

You can use the app.config file to save application-level settings (that are the same for each user who uses your application).

I have worked with SAP since 1998. SAP is a type of software called ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) that large companies use to manage their day to day affairs. On the macro, the software can be split into two categories: Technical and Functional

Let's go Technical first, as it answers the "What is ABAP" part of your question.

Technical

There are two technical "stacks" within the SAP software, the first is the ABAP stack which is inclusive of all the original technology that SAP was. ABAP is the proprietary coding language for SAP to develop RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms and Workflows) within the ABAP stack.

The ABAP stack is traditionally navigated via Transaction Codes (T-Codes) to take you to different screens within the SAP Environment. From a technical perspective, you will do all of your performance and tuning of the WORK PROCESSES in the SAP system here, as well as configuring all of the system RFCs, building user profiles and also doing the necessary interfacing between the OS (usually Windows or HPUX) and the Oracle Database (currently Enterprise 11g).

The JAVA stack controls the "Netweaver" aspect of SAP which encapsulates SAP's ability to be accessed via the Internet via SAP Portal and it's ability to interface with other SAP and non-SAP legacy systems via Process Integration (PI).

SAP also has extensive capabilities in the Business Intelligence Field (BI) by accessing information stored within the Business Warehouse (BW). Currently, there is a new technology called HANA 1.0 that compresses the time to run reports against these repositories.

There are two primarily technologists that run ALL of these functions, they are called SAP Basis (Netweaver) Administrators and ABAP Developers.

Functional

SAP has specific pre-populated functional packages for different business areas. For example, Exxon runs the "IS Oil & Gas" package while Bank of America runs the "Banking" package, while further still Lockheed Martin runs the "Aerospace & Defense" package. These packages were developed over time by the amalgamation of intelligent functional customizations that could be intelligently ported to the system via inclusion in dot releases.

With the command:

sudo apt-get remove --purge mysql\*

you can delete anything related to packages named mysql. Those commands are only valid on debian / debian-based linux distributions (Ubuntu for example).

You can list all installed mysql packages with the command:

This is a rather old thread now and the question asks for a regex based URL validator. I ran into the thread whilst looking for precisely the same thing. While it may well be possible to write a really comprehensive regex to validate URLs. I eventually settled on another way to do things - by using PHP's parse_url function.

It returns boolean false if the url cannot be parsed. Otherwise, it returns the scheme, the host and other information. This may well not be enough for a comprehensive URL check on its own, but can be drilled down into for further analysis. If the intent is to simply catch typos, invalid schemes etc. It is perfectly adequate!

Java interning() method basically makes sure that if String object is present in SCP, If yes then it returns that object and if not then creates that objects in SCP and return its references

In javascript that uses the CommonJS spec, like node.js for instance you can do what I show below. Which is pretty handy for accessing a variable by a string even if its not defined on the window object. If there is a class named MyClass, defined within a CommonJS module named MyClass.js

The differences are mentioned quite clearly in the documentation of array and asarray. The differences lie in the argument list and hence the action of the function depending on those parameters.

ndmin : int, optional Specifies the minimum number of dimensions that the resulting array should have. Ones will be pre-pended to the shape as needed to meet this requirement.

CPUnit (http://cpunit.sourceforge.net) is a framework that is similar to Google Test, but which relies on less macos (asserts are functions), and where the macros are prefixed to avoid the usual macro pitfall. Tests look like:

To be absolutely clear... what you describe does not conflict with the spec in any way. The spec talks about the values Hibernate assigns to your entities, not the values actually stored in the database sequence.

However, there is the option to get the behavior you are looking for. First see my reply on Is there a way to dynamically choose a @GeneratedValue strategy using JPA annotations and Hibernate? That will give you the basics. As long as you are set up to use that SequenceStyleGenerator, Hibernate will interpret allocationSize using the "pooled optimizer" in the SequenceStyleGenerator. The "pooled optimizer" is for use with databases that allow an "increment" option on the creation of sequences (not all databases that support sequences support an increment). Anyway, read up about the various optimizer strategies there.

If your application mainly tethers web apis, or other io channels, give or take a user interface, node.js may be a fair pick for you, especially if you want to squeeze out the most scalability, or, if your main language in life is javascript (or javascript transpilers of sorts). If you build microservices, node.js is also okay. Node.js is also suitable for any project that is small or simple.

Its main selling point is it allows front-enders take responsibility for back-end stuff rather than the typical divide. Another justifiable selling point is if your workforce is javascript oriented to begin with.

Beyond a certain point however, you cannot scale your code without terrible hacks for forcing modularity, readability and flow control. Some people like those hacks though, especially coming from an event-driven javascript background, they seem familiar or forgivable.

In particular, when your application needs to perform synchronous flows, you start bleeding over half-baked solutions that slow you down considerably in terms of your development process. If you have computation intensive parts in your application, tread with caution picking (only) node.js. Maybe http://koajs.com/ or other novelties alleviate those originally thorny aspects, compared to when I originally used node.js or wrote this.

For loops are a bad construct for this.

If you want to write the output to a file you can use the stdout-argument of subprocess.call.

It takes None, subprocess.PIPE, a file object or a file descriptor. The first is the default, stdout is inherited from the parent (your script). The second allows you to pipe from one command/process to another. The third and fourth are what you want, to have the output written to a file.

You need to open a file with something like open and pass the object or file descriptor integer to call:

I'm guessing any valid file-like object would work, like a socket (gasp :)), but I've never tried.

As marcog mentions in the comments you might want to redirect stderr as well, you can redirect this to the same location as stdout with stderr=subprocess.STDOUT. Any of the above mentioned values works as well, you can redirect to different places.

I had an issue where one of the nested dependency had an npm audit vulnerability, but I still wanted to maintain the parent dependency version. the npm shrinkwrap solution didn't work for me, so what I did to override the nested dependency version:

1. Remove the nested dependency under the 'requires' section in package-lock.json
2. Add the updated dependency under DevDependencies in package.json, so that modules that require it will still be able to access it.

Only small changes in your program. What It seems to be misunderstood by many regarding the main issue, is whenever you throw exception you need to handle it, not necessary in the same place ( ex. show1,2,3 method in your program) but you must at first caller method inside the 'main'. in one word, there is 'throw', there must be 'catch/try', even if not same method where exception happens.

Codeigniter doesn't seem to throw an error message when I was referencing a view that did not exist.

In my example I had within my controller:

$this->load->view('/admin/index/access_controls/groups/add');

Because the file did not exist, I got a blank "An error has occurred page". I changed the code to:

$this->load->view('/admin/access_controls/groups/add');

This was how I resolved the same issue you seem to be having, hope this helps someone some day.

With regard to the specific question of generating a reverse IntStream:

starting from Java 9 you can use the three-argument version of the IntStream.iterate(...):

I have found better success with this than CStr() because CStr() doesn't seem to convert decimal numbers that came from variants in my experience.

I think the load event is right. What is not right is the way you use to retreive the content from iframe content dom.

What you need is the html of the page loaded in the iframe not the html of the iframe object.

What you have to do is to access the content document with iFrameObj.contentDocument. This returns the dom of the page loaded inside the iframe, if it is on the same domain of the current page.

I would retreive the content before removing the iframe.

I've tested in firefox and opera.

Then i think you can retreive your data with $(childDom).html() or $(childDom).find('some selector') ...

It has a nice windows friendly installer and wizard. Hands down the easiest mail server I've ever setup.

It can proxy through your gmail/yahoo/etc account or send email directly.

There is TKlerx's Android SQLite browser for Eclipse, and it's fully functional alongside Android Studio. I'll recommend it, because it is immensely practical.

You can't use a function to insert data into a base table. Functions return data. This is listed as the very first limitation in the documentation:

User-defined functions cannot be used to perform actions that modify the database state.

"Modify the database state" includes changing any data in the database (though a table variable is an obvious exception the OP wouldn't have cared about 3 years ago - this table variable only lives for the duration of the function call and does not affect the underlying tables in any way).

You should be using a stored procedure, not a function.

According to the Go spec, the order of iteration over a map is undefined, and may vary between runs of the program. In practice, not only is it undefined, it's actually intentionally randomized. This is because it used to be predictable, and the Go language developers didn't want people relying on unspecified behavior, so they intentionally randomized it so that relying on this behavior was impossible.

What you'll have to do, then, is pull the keys into a slice, sort them, and then range over the slice like this:

The whole point of getting things out as IEnumerable is so you can lazily iterate over the contents. As such, there isn't really a concept of an index. What you are doing really doesn't make a lot of sense for an IEnumerable. If you need something that supports access by index, put it in an actual list or collection.

I had the same issue and the following fixed my issue:

1. Set the registry: npm config set registry "http://registry.npmjs.org/"
2. Removed the entry in hosts file (using Windows 7) => C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts

Unfortunately it seems that the two most commonly suggested solutions to this issue, namely counting callback occurrences and posting a Runnable to set the callback at a later time can both fail when for example accessibility options are enabled. Here's a helper class that works around these issues. Further explenation is in the comment block.

I don't think I can improve on these answers as I've used them all, but my preference is declaring a constant and using that as it can be a real pain if you have a long string and try to accommodate with the correct number of quotes and make a mistake. ;)

Actually I think the LIMIT 10 would be issued to the database so slicing would not occur in Python but in the database.

As you're receiving this markup from somewhere else, rather than generating it yourself, you may have to do this yourself by treating the response as a string and wrapping it with appropriate tags, prior to attempting to parse it as XML.

So, you've a couple of choices:

1. Get the provider of the web service to return you actual XML that has one root node
2. Pre-process the XML, as I've suggested above, to add a root node
3. Pre-process the XML to split it into multiple chunks (i.e. one for each <parent> node) and process each as a distinct XML Document

Since :last-child is a CSS3 pseudo-class, it is not supported in IE8. I believe :first-child is supported, as it's defined in the CSS2.1 specification.

One possible solution is to simply give the last child a class name and style that class.

Another would be to use JavaScript. jQuery makes this particularly easy as it provides a :last-child pseudo-class which should work in IE8. Unfortunately, that could result in a flash of unstyled content while the DOM loads.

If you do a size check every 500 ms rather than a item count it works better for large files. Win 7 writes the file instantly although it's not finished compressing:

As mentioned Agile is a set of principles about how a methodology should be implemented to achieve the benefits of embracing change, close co-operation etc. These principles address some of the project management issues found in studies such as the Chaos Report by the Standish group.

Agile methodologies are created by the development and supporting teams to meet the principles. The methodology is made to fit the business and changed as appropriate.

SCRUM is a fixed set of processes to implement an incremental development methodology. Since the processes are fixed and not catered to the teams it cannot really be considered agile in the original sense of focus on individuals rather than processes.

Your problem is that when you do this:

a = Button(win, text="plant", command=setText("plant"))

it tries to evaluate what to set for the command. So when instantiating the Button object, it actually calls setText("plant"). This is wrong, because you don't want to call the setText method yet. Then it takes the return value of this call (which is None), and sets that to the command of the button. That's why clicking the button does nothing, because there is no command set for it.

If you do as Milan Skála suggested and use a lambda expression instead, then your code will work (assuming you fix the indentation and the parentheses).

Instead of command=setText("plant"), which actually calls the function, you can set command=lambda:setText("plant") which specifies something which will call the function later, when you want to call it.

If you don't like lambdas, another (slightly more cumbersome) way would be to define a pair of functions to do what you want:

and then you can use command=set_to_plant and command=set_to_animal - these will evaluate to the corresponding functions, but are definitely not the same as command=set_to_plant() which would of course evaluate to None again.

Regardless of the benefits, I would suggest that you always compile your program for the system's default word size (32-bit or 64-bit), since if you compile a library as a 32-bit binary and provide it on a 64-bit system, you will force anyone who wants to link with your library to provide their library (and any other library dependencies) as a 32-bit binary, when the 64-bit version is the default available. This can be quite a nuisance for everyone. When in doubt, provide both versions of your library.

As to the practical benefits of 64-bit... the most obvious is that you get a bigger address space, so if mmap a file, you can address more of it at once (and load larger files into memory). Another benefit is that, assuming the compiler does a good job of optimizing, many of your arithmetic operations can be parallelized (for example, placing two pairs of 32-bit numbers in two registers and performing two adds in single add operation), and big number computations will run more quickly. That said, the whole 64-bit vs 32-bit thing won't help you with asymptotic complexity at all, so if you are looking to optimize your code, you should probably be looking at the algorithms rather than the constant factors like this.

EDIT:
Please disregard my statement about the parallelized addition. This is not performed by an ordinary add statement... I was confusing that with some of the vectorized/SSE instructions. A more accurate benefit, aside from the larger address space, is that there are more general purpose registers, which means more local variables can be maintained in the CPU register file, which is much faster to access, than if you place the variables in the program stack (which usually means going out to the L1 cache).

In the "database" section of the logon dialog box, enter //hostname.domain:port/database, in your case //123.45.67.89:1521/TEST - this assumes that you don't want to set up a tnsnames.ora file/entry for some reason.

Also make sure the firewall settings on your server are not blocking port 1521.

You can save your file/script as .txt or .sql and run it from Sql Server Management Studio (I think the menu is Open/Query, then just run the query in the SSMS interface). You migh have to update the first line, indicating the database to be created or selected on your local machine.

If you have to do this data transfer very often, you could then go for replication. Depending on your needs, snapshot replication could be ok. If you have to synch the data between your two servers, you could go for a more complex model such as merge replication.

EDIT: I didn't notice that you had problems with SSMS linked to file size. Then you can go for command-line, as proposed by others, snapshot replication (publish on your main server, subscribe on your local one, replicate, then unsubscribe) or even backup/restore

You won't be able to make an ajax call to http://www.ecb.europa.eu/stats/eurofxref/eurofxref-daily.xml from a file deployed at http://run.jsbin.com due to the same-origin policy.

As the source (aka origin) page and the target URL are at different domains (run.jsbin.com and www.ecb.europa.eu), your code is actually attempting to make a Cross-domain (CORS) request, not an ordinary GET.

In a few words, the same-origin policy says that browsers should only allow ajax calls to services at the same domain of the HTML page.

Example:

A page at http://www.example.com/myPage.html can only directly request services that are at http://www.example.com, like http://www.example.com/api/myService. If the service is hosted at another domain (say http://www.ok.com/api/myService), the browser won't make the call directly (as you'd expect). Instead, it will try to make a CORS request.

To put it shortly, to perform a (CORS) request* across different domains, your browser:

• Will include an Origin header in the original request (with the page's domain as value) and perform it as usual; and then
• Only if the server response to that request contains the adequate headers (Access-Control-Allow-Origin is one of them) allowing the CORS request, the browse will complete the call (almost** exactly the way it would if the HTML page was at the same domain).
  • If the expected headers don't come, the browser simply gives up (like it did to you).

How to fix it?

Was it just a typo? Sometimes the JavaScript code has just a typo in the target domain. Have you checked? If the page is at www.example.com it will only make regular calls to www.example.com! Other URLs, such as api.example.com or even example.com or www.example.com:8080 are considered different domains by the browser! Yes, if the port is different, then it is a different domain!

Add the headers. The simplest way to enable CORS is by adding the necessary headers (as Access-Control-Allow-Origin) to the server's responses. (Each server/language has a way to do that - check some solutions here.)

Last resort: If you don't have server-side access to the service, you can also mirror it (through tools such as reverse proxies), and include all the necessary headers there.

There are mutiple applications for Java's annotations. First of all, they may used by the compiler (or compiler extensions). Consider for example the Override annotation:

You can pass data from PHP to javascript but the only way to get data from javascript to PHP is via AJAX.

I'm quite sure you won't get this 32Bit DLL working in Office 64Bit. The DLL needs to be updated by the author to be compatible with 64Bit versions of Office.

The code changes you have found and supplied in the question are used to convert calls to APIs that have already been rewritten for Office 64Bit. (Most Windows APIs have been updated.)

Edit: Further to your comment, I've tried the 64Bit DLL version on Win 8 64Bit with Office 2010 64Bit. Since you are using User Defined Functions called from the Excel worksheet you are not able to see the error thrown by Excel and just end up with the #VALUE returned.

If we create a custom procedure within VBA and try one of the DLL functions we see the exact error thrown. I tried a simple function of swe_day_of_week which just has a time as an input and I get the error Run-time error '48' File not found: swedll32.dll.

Now I have the 64Bit DLL you supplied in the correct locations so it should be found which suggests it has dependencies which cannot be located as per https://stackoverflow.com/a/8607250/1733206

I've got all the .NET frameworks installed which would be my first guess, so without further information from the author it might be difficult to find the problem.

Edit2: And after a bit more investigating it appears the 64Bit version you have supplied is actually a 32Bit version. Hence the error message on the 64Bit Office. You can check this by trying to access the '64Bit' version in Office 32Bit.

Byte is not a standard type in C/C++, so it is represented by char.

An abstract Interface is not as redundant as everyone seems to be saying, in theory at least.

An Interface can be extended, just as a Class can. If you design an Interface hierarchy for your application you may well have a 'Base' Interface, you extend other Interfaces from but do not want as an Object in itself.

Example:

Edit: As Martin points out you can also use the YEARWEEK(mysqldatefield) function, although its output is not as eye friendly as the longer formula above.

Edit 2 [3 1/2 years later!]:
YEARWEEK(mysqldatefield) with the optional second argument (mode) set to either 0 or 2 is probably the best way to aggregate by complete weeks (i.e. including for weeks which straddle over January 1st), if that is what is desired. The YEAR() / WEEK() approach initially proposed in this answer has the effect of splitting the aggregated data for such "straddling" weeks in two: one with the former year, one with the new year.
A clean-cut every year, at the cost of having up to two partial weeks, one at either end, is often desired in accounting etc. and for that the YEAR() / WEEK() approach is better.

You would use the read.csv function; for example:

dat = read.csv("spam.csv", header = TRUE)

You can also reference this tutorial for more details.

Note: make sure the .csv file to read is in your working directory (using getwd()) or specify the right path to file. If you want, you can set the current directory using setwd.

Place the function value into the cell

Application.Sum often does not work well in my experience (or at least the VBA developer environment does not like it for whatever reason).

The function that works best for me is Excel.WorksheetFunction.Sum()

One way around this problem is to use stored procedures with an output parameter.

exec sp_mysprocname @returnvalue output, @firstparam = 1, @secondparam=2

values you do not pass in default to the defaults set in the stored procedure itself. And you can get the results from your output variable.

I ran into this issue using laravel datatables. I was storing a JSON value called properties in an activity log and wanted to show a button based on this value being empty or not.

Well, datatables was interpreting this as an array if it was empty, and an object if it was not, therefore, the following solution worked for me:

Simply disable default browser behaviour using preventDefault and pass the event within your HTML.

<iframe> elements have a load event for that.

How you listen to that event is up to you, but generally the best way is to:

1) create your iframe programatically

It makes sure your load listener is always called by attaching it before the iframe starts loading.

Primary keys always need to be unique, foreign keys need to allow non-unique values if the table is a one-to-many relationship. It is perfectly fine to use a foreign key as the primary key if the table is connected by a one-to-one relationship, not a one-to-many relationship.

A FOREIGN KEY constraint does not have to be linked only to a PRIMARY KEY constraint in another table; it can also be defined to reference the columns of a UNIQUE constraint in another table.

I know that if you were to change that to an href you'd do:

One thing to point out is that, as of this post, the phonegap one looks to be almost the same as the cordova one, and is probably not an accurate image of the command line option differences. As such, I installed both on my system so I could look at the differences.

These are just a few of them. Hopefully they are brought more in sync sometime. If anyone has better information, please tell me.

1. Adding platforms seems to be done differently between the two commands ( phonegap uses "install" command, cordova uses "platform add" command )
2. Adding/creating projects seems to be the same between the two commands ( same command line options supported )
3. Obviously, as has been stated, phonegap can use PhoneGap Build, so it has the corresponding options to trigger that or local builds
4. Quite a few other significant command line differences, simply by running "cordova help" and "phonegap help" and comparing the two.

I guess my point is that the phonegap CLI documention mentioned quite often is not really for the phonegap CLI, but for the cordova CLI, at this time. Please tell me if I am missing something. Thanks.

Don't use tellg to determine the exact size of the file. The length determined by tellg will be larger than the number of characters can be read from the file.

From stackoverflow question tellg() function give wrong size of file? tellg does not report the size of the file, nor the offset from the beginning in bytes. It reports a token value which can later be used to seek to the same place, and nothing more. (It's not even guaranteed that you can convert the type to an integral type.). For Windows (and most non-Unix systems), in text mode, there is no direct and immediate mapping between what tellg returns and the number of bytes you must read to get to that position.

If it is important to know exactly how many bytes you can read, the only way of reliably doing so is by reading. You should be able to do this with something like:

The ConverterParameter property can not be bound because it is not a dependency property.

Since Binding is not derived from DependencyObject none of its properties can be dependency properties. As a consequence, a Binding can never be the target object of another Binding.

The thing to realise is that a list object will not allow you to assign a value to an index that doesn't exist.

Try using

img.style.webkitTransform = "rotate(60deg)"

for md5 vARCHAR(32) is appropriate. For those using AES better to use varbinary.
