I think Todd is correct, but I think there's one other thing you should consider. You can reliably get the home directory from the JVM at runtime, and then you can create files objects relative to that location. It's not that much more trouble, and it's something you'll appreciate if you ever move to another computer or operating system.

Rahul's answer is best fit for your question. Anyway, if you have a group of checkboxes to be checked and not all the checkbox in your form, you can go for it.

Put a classname for all the checkboxes you want to check, say for example, a classname test_check and now you can check if any of the checkbox is checked belonging to the group by:

What is the reason for the try-except-else to exist?

A try block allows you to handle an expected error. The except block should only catch exceptions you are prepared to handle. If you handle an unexpected error, your code may do the wrong thing and hide bugs.

An else clause will execute if there were no errors, and by not executing that code in the try block, you avoid catching an unexpected error. Again, catching an unexpected error can hide bugs.

Example

For example:

The "try, except" suite has two optional clauses, else and finally. So it's actually try-except-else-finally.

It is true that we could include the code in the else block in the try block instead, where it would run if there were no exceptions, but what if that code itself raises an exception of the kind we're catching? Leaving it in the try block would hide that bug.

We want to minimize lines of code in the try block to avoid catching exceptions we did not expect, under the principle that if our code fails, we want it to fail loudly. This is a best practice.

I've had a similar error for react-native-youtube & react-native-orientation.

Figured out, that the build.gradle of those Project use compileSdkVersion 23 but the Feature: android:keyboardNavigationCluster was added since api 26 (android 8).

Unity is just too much overkill for 2d games and as already stated marmalade is just a thin abstraction layer not really a game engine. You can even run cocos2d on top of marmalade. SUMMARY: In ASP.NET, every Web page derives from the System.Web.UI.Page class. The Page class aggregates an instance of the HttpSession object for session data. The Page class exposes different events and methods for customization. In particular, the OnInit method is used to set the initialize state of the Page object. If the request does not have the Session cookie, a new Session cookie will be issued to the requester.

SUMMARY: Session is created when user sends a first request to the server for any page in the web application, the application creates the Session and sends the Session ID back to the user with the response and is stored in the client machine as a small cookie. So ideally the "machine that has disabled the cookies, session information will not be stored".

There are multiple solution exist but none of them perfect. let's go one by one.

1. Unique Telephony Number (IMEI, MEID, ESN, IMSI)

• This solution needs to request for android.permission.READ_PHONE_STATE to your user which can be hard to justify following the type of application you have made.

• Furthermore, this solution is limited to smartphones because tablets don’t have telephony services. One advantage is that the value survives to factory resets on devices.

2. MAC Address

• You can also try to get a MAC Address from a device having a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth hardware. But, this solution is not recommended because not all of the device have Wi-Fi connection. Even if the user have a Wi-Fi connection, it must be turned on to retrieve the data. Otherwise, the call doesn’t report the MAC Address.

3. Serial Number

• Devices without telephony services like tablets must report a unique device ID that is available via android.os.Build.SERIAL since Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Some phones having telephony services can also define a serial number. Like not all Android devices have a Serial Number, this solution is not reliable.

4. Secure Android ID

• On a device first boot, a randomly value is generated and stored. This value is available via Settings.Secure.ANDROID_ID . It’s a 64-bit number that should remain constant for the lifetime of a device. ANDROID_ID seems a good choice for a unique device identifier because it’s available for smartphones and tablets.

Identify a particular device on Android is not an easy thing. There are many good reasons to avoid that. Best solution is probably to identify a particular installation by using UUID solution. credit : blog

Generally speaking, to do a step-by-1/x up to y you would do

(1/x produced less rounding noise when I tested).

You don't see any output from the print statements because FileInput redirects stdout to the input file when the keyword argument inplace=1 is given. This causes the input file to effectively be rewritten and if you look at it afterwards the lines in it will indeed have no trailing or leading whitespace in them (except for the newline at the end of each which the print statement adds back).

If you only want to remove trailing whitespace, you should use rstrip() instead of strip(). Also note that the if lines == '': continue is causing blank lines to be completely removed (regardless of whether strip or rstrip gets used).

Unless your intent is to rewrite the input file, you should probably just use for line in open(filename):. Otherwise you can see what's being written to the file by simultaneously echoing the output to sys.stderr using something like the following:

What is “export default” in JavaScript?

In default export the naming of import is completely independent and we can use any name we like.

I will illustrate this line with a simple example.

Let’s say we have three modules and an index.html file:

'export default' is used if you want to export a single thing for a module.

So the thing that is important is "import blabla from './modul3.js'" - we could say instead:

"import pamelanderson from './modul3.js" and then pamelanderson();. This will work just fine when we use 'export default' and basically this is it - it allows us to name it whatever we like when it is default.

P.S.: If you want to test the example - create the files first, and then allow CORS in the browser -> if you are using Firefox type in the URL of the browser: about:config -> Search for "privacy.file_unique_origin" -> change it to "false" -> open index.html -> press F12 to open the console and see the output -> Enjoy and don't forget to return the CORS settings to default.

For "100% of the browser window", if you mean this literally, you should use fixed positioning. The top, bottom, right, and left properties are then used to offset the divs edges from the respective edges of the viewport:

This will set up a screen with the left 235 pixels devoted to the nav, and the right rest of the screen to content.

You are trying to make a popup work maybe? I don't know how to emulate click, maybe you can try to fire click event somehow, but I don't know if it is possible. More than likely such functionality is not implemented, because of security and privacy concerns.

You can use div with position:absolute to emulate popup at the same page. If you insist creating another page, I cannot help you. Maybe somebody else with more experience will add his 15 cents.

Content insets solve the problem of having content that goes underneath other parts of the User Interface and yet still remains reachable using scroll bars. In other words, the purpose of the Content Inset is to make the interaction area smaller than its actual area.

Consider the case where we have three logical areas of the screen:

TOP BUTTONS

TEXT

BOTTOM TAB BAR

and we want the TEXT to never appear transparently underneath the TOP BUTTONS, but we want the Text to appear underneath the BOTTOM TAB BAR and yet still allow scrolling so we could update the text sitting transparently under the BOTTOM TAB BAR.

Then we would set the top origin to be below the TOP BUTTONS, and the height to include the bottom of BOTTOM TAB BAR. To gain access to the Text sitting underneath the BOTTOM TAB BAR content we would set the bottom inset to be the height of the BOTTOM TAB BAR.

Without the inset, the scroller would not let you scroll up the content enough to type into it. With the inset, it is as if the content had extra "BLANK CONTENT" the size of the content inset. Blank text has been "inset" into the real "content" -- that's how I remember the concept.

it doesn't matter that you declare your minSdk in build.gradle. You have to copy overrideLibrary in your AndroidManifest.xml, as documented here.

In my app I have app delegate and other classes that need to be accessed by the tests as public. As outlined here, I then import my my app into my tests.

When I recently created two new classes ,their test targets were both the main and testing parts. Removing them from their membership from the tests solved the issue.

Save a copy of your spreadsheet first (just in case).

1. Insert two new columns to the left of the numbered column.

2. Put a k in the first row of the first (new) column.

3. Copy it (the k).

4. Go to the original first column (now the third column) and leave your cursor on the first row that has data.

5. Hit ctrl and down arrow (at the same time) to jump to the bottom of the populated data range for your original first column.

6. Left arrow twice to get to the new first column, the one with a k at the very top.

7. Hit Ctrl-shift-up arrow to go to the first cell with data populated (the original k you put in), highlighting all the cells in-between your starting and ending point.

8. Use paste (ctrl-v, right-click or whatever your preferred method), and it'll fill all those cells with a k.

9. Then use the "Concatenate" formula in the second column. Its two arguments will be the column of Ks (column A, first column) and the column with the numbers in it.

10. This will get you a column with the results of the K column and your numbers.

Hope this helps! The ctrl-shift-arrow and ctrl-arrow shortcuts are amazing for working with large datasets in Excel.

When FIND returns #VALUE!, it is an error, not a string, so you can't compare FIND(...) with "#VALUE!", you need to check if FIND returns an error with ISERROR. Also FIND can work on multiple characters.

So a simplified and working version of your formula would be:

UTF-8 has an advantage in the case where ASCII characters represent the majority of characters in a block of text, because UTF-8 encodes these into 8 bits (like ASCII). It is also advantageous in that a UTF-8 file containing only ASCII characters has the same encoding as an ASCII file.

UTF-16 is better where ASCII is not predominant, since it uses 2 bytes per character, primarily. UTF-8 will start to use 3 or more bytes for the higher order characters where UTF-16 remains at just 2 bytes for most characters.

UTF-32 will cover all possible characters in 4 bytes. This makes it pretty bloated. I can't think of any advantage to using it.

I know this thread is old now but I am answering it to keep things a bit updated.

With Angular 1.4 and above you can directly use limitTo filter which apart from accepting the limit parameter also accepts a begin parameter.

Usage: {{ limitTo_expression | limitTo : limit : begin}}

So now you may not need to use any third party library to achieve something like pagination. I have created a fiddle to illustrate the same.

You cannot do that, see this question's answers. You may use std:vector instead.

I didn't find the suggestions with .htaccess so good because it may block other content in that folder which you might want to allow user to access to, this is my solution:

The error means there are some methods of the class that aren't implemented. You cannot instantiate such a class, so there isn't anything you can do, other than implement all of the methods of the class.

On the other hand, a common pattern is to instantiate a concrete class and assign it to a pointer of an abstrate base class:

For WampServer 2.5 and previous versions

WAMPServer is designed to be a single seat developers tool. Apache is therefore configure by default to only allow access from the PC running the server i.e. localhost or 127.0.0.1 or ::1

But as it is a full version of Apache all you need is a little knowledge of the server you are using.

The simple ( hammer to crack a nut ) way is to use the 'Put Online' wampmanager menu option.

left click wampmanager icon -> Put Online

This however tells Apache it can accept connections from any ip address in the universe. That's not a problem as long as you have not port forwarded port 80 on your router, or never ever will attempt to in the future.

The more sensible way is to edit the httpd.conf file ( again using the wampmanager menu's ) and change the Apache access security manually.

left click wampmanager icon -> Apache -> httpd.conf

This launches the httpd.conf file in notepad.

Look for this section of this file

Now assuming your local network subnet uses the address range 192.168.0.?

Add this line after Allow from localhost

Allow from 192.168.0

This will tell Apache that it is allowed to be accessed from any ip address on that subnet. Of course you will need to check that your router is set to use the 192.168.0 range.

This is simply done by entering this command from a command window ipconfig and looking at the line labeled IPv4 Address. you then use the first 3 sections of the address you see in there.

For example if yours looked like this:-

IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.2.11

You would use

Allow from 192.168.2

UPDATE for Apache 2.4 users

Of course if you are using Apache 2.4 the syntax for this has changed.

You should replace ALL of this section :

Order Deny,Allow
Deny from all
Allow from 127.0.0.1
Allow from ::1
Allow from localhost

With this, using the new Apache 2.4 syntax

Require local
Require ip 192.168.0

You should not just add this into httpd.conf it must be a replace.

For WAMPServer 3 and above

In WAMPServer 3 there is a Virtual Host defined by default. Therefore the above suggestions do not work. You no longer need to make ANY amendments to the httpd.conf file. You should leave it exactly as you find it.

Instead, leave the server OFFLINE as this funtionality is defunct and no longer works, which is why the Online/Offline menu has become optional and turned off by default.

Now you should edit the \wamp\bin\apache\apache{version}\conf\extra\httpd-vhosts.conf file. In WAMPServer3.0.6 and above there is actually a menu that will open this file in your editor

left click wampmanager -> Apache -> httpd-vhost.conf

just like the one that has always existsed that edits your httpd.conf file.

It should look like this if you have not added any of your own Virtual Hosts

If you want to allow access from anywhere replace Require local with

This is called ACF(Automatic Content Filter) in ckeditor.It remove all unnessary tag's What we are using in text content.Using this command in your config.js file should be turn off this ACK.

Actually, does it matter?

I'm not sure if it matters in this case, but generally, you should tell Windows what is your window hierarchy, so if a parent window is clicked while child window is modal, Windows can provide a visual (and possibly audible) clue to the user.

Also, it ensures the "right" window is on top when there are multiple modal windows (not that I'm advocating such UI design). I've seen UIs designed by a certain multi-billion dollar corporation (which shell remain unnamed), that hanged simply because one modal dialog got "stuck" underneath another, and user had no clue it was even there, let alone how to close it.

Here's another way through the GUI that does exactly what your script does even though it goes through Indexes (not Constraints) in the object explorer.

1. Right click on "Indexes" and click "New Index..." (note: this is disabled if you have the table open in design view)

2. Give new index a name ("U_Name"), check "Unique", and click "Add..."

3. Select "Name" column in the next windown

4. Click OK in both windows

By the time script is executed, document element is not available yet, because script itself is in the head. While it's a valid solution to keep script in head and render on DOMContentLoaded event, it's even better to put your script at the very bottom of the body and render root component to a div before it like this:

You should always render to a nested div instead of body. Otherwise, all sorts of third-party code (Google Font Loader, browser plugins, whatever) can modify the body DOM node when React doesn't expect it, and cause weird errors that are very hard to trace and debug. Read more about this issue.

The nice thing about putting script at the bottom is that it won't block rendering until script load in case you add React server rendering to your project.

React.render is deprecated, use ReactDOM.render instead.

This is not the correct usage of the System.Threading.Timer. When you instantiate the Timer, you should almost always do the following:

This will instruct the timer to tick only once when the interval has elapsed. Then in your Callback function you Change the timer once the work has completed, not before. Example:

Thus there is no need for locking mechanisms because there is no concurrency. The timer will fire the next callback after the next interval has elapsed + the time of the long running operation.

If you need to run your timer at exactly N milliseconds, then I suggest you measure the time of the long running operation using Stopwatch and then call the Change method appropriately:

I strongly encourage anyone doing .NET and is using the CLR who hasn't read Jeffrey Richter's book - CLR via C#, to read is as soon as possible. Timers and thread pools are explained in great details there.

You don't assign values outside of the if statements ... and it is possible that credit might be something other than 0, 1, 2, or 3, as @iomaxx noted.

Try changing the separate if statements to a single if/else if/else if/else. Or assign default values up at the top.

Open the storyboard in the XML view and try to edit the rowHeight attribute of the wanted element.

It worked for me when I tried to set custom rowHeight for my prototyped row. It's not working via inspector, but via XML it works.

JavaScript is a client-side language and your MySQL database is going to be running on a server.

So you have to rename your file to index.php for example (.php is important) so you can use php code for that. It is not very difficult, but not directly possible with html.

(Somehow you can tell your server to let the html files behave like php files, but this is not the best solution.)

Instead of making the control public, you can create a property that controls its visibility:

You can use the reload function in your if condition for success and the page will reload after the condition is successful.

After spending a lot of time with this issue, Here is what I got working

I just delete all my maven plugins stored in .m2\repository\org\apache\maven\plugins, and IntelliJ downloaded all the plugins again a it solve my problem and it worked fine for me!!!

git log -p will generate the a patch (the diff) for every commit selected. For a single file, use git log --follow -p $file.

If you're looking for a particular change, use git bisect to find the change in log(n) views by splitting the number of commits in half until you find where what you're looking for changed.

Also consider looking back in history using git blame to follow changes to the line in question if you know what that is. This command shows the most recent revision to affect a certain line. You may have to go back a few versions to find the first change where something was introduced if somebody has tweaked it over time, but that could give you a good start.

Finally, gitk as a GUI does show me the patch immediately for any commit I click on.

If you want to have multiple ruby versions, better to have RVM. In that case you don't need to remove ruby older version.

Still if want to remove then follow the steps below:

You could look at GNU Tools, they provide (amongst other things) sed on windows.

It's a kludge, but assuming there's a minimum length for SEARCHSTRING, for example 2 characters, substring the SEARCHSTRING parameter at the second character and pass it as two parameters instead: SEARCHSTRING1 ("Nu") and SEARCHSTRING2 ("ll"). Concatenate them back together when executing the query to the database.

This has similar approach to the accepted answer, but uses LINQ to convert datatable to list in a single line of code.

I had the same problem before and i fixed it by creating the same table in a new sheet and deleting all the name ranges associated to the table, i believe whene you're using listobjects you're not alowed to have name ranges contained within your table hope that helps thanks

It is presented as "the leading design pattern for functional programming", but the language used in the examples is Scala, which is both OOP and functional.

Monad are a big deal in Scala because of convenient syntax built to take advantage of Monad structures:

The key abstraction is the flatMap, which binds the computation through chaining.
Each invocation of flatMap returns the same data structure type (but of different value), that serves as the input to the next command in chain.

In the above snippet, flatMap takes as input a closure (SomeType) => List[AnotherType] and returns a List[AnotherType]. The important point to note is that all flatMaps take the same closure type as input and return the same type as output.

This is what "binds" the computation thread - every item of the sequence in the for-comprehension has to honor this same type constraint.

If you take two operations (that may fail) and pass the result to the third, like:

but without taking advantage of Monad, you get convoluted OOP-code like:

An interface defines public instance properties and methods. Fields are typically private, or at the most protected, internal or protected internal (the term "field" is typically not used for anything public).

As stated by other replies you can define a base class and define a protected property which will be accessible by all inheritors.

One oddity is that an interface can in fact be defined as internal but it limits the usefulness of the interface, and it is typically used to define internal functionality that is not used by other external code.

java.time (Java 8)

You can also use the java.time package in Java 8 and convert your java.util.Date object to a java.time.LocalDate object and then just use the getMonthValue() method.

It depends on the tablix structure you are using. In a table, for example, you do not have column groups, so Reporting Services does not recognize which textboxes are the column headers and setting RepeatColumnHeaders property to True doesn't work.

Instead, you need to:

1. Open Advanced Mode in the Groupings pane. (Click the arrow to the right of the Column Groups and select Advanced Mode.)
   • 
2. In the Row Groups area (not Column Groups), click on a Static group, which highlights the corresponding textbox in the tablix. Click through each Static group until it highlights the leftmost column header. This is generally the first Static group listed.
3. In the Properties window, set the RepeatOnNewPage property to True.

4. Make sure that the KeepWithGroup property is set to After.

The KeepWithGroup property specifies which group to which the static member needs to stick. If set to After then the static member sticks with the group after it, or below it, acting as a group header. If set to Before, then the static member sticks with the group before, or above it, acting as a group footer. If set to None, Reporting Services decides where to put the static member.

Now when you view the report, the column headers repeat on each page of the tablix.

Many network protocols and files store their characters with a byte-oriented character set such as ISO-8859-1 (ISO-Latin-1).

The Java for-each idiom can only be applied to arrays or objects of type *Iterable. This idiom is implicit as it truly backed by an Iterator. The Iterator is programmed by the programmer and often uses an integer index or a node (depending on the data structure) to keep track of its position. On paper it is slower than a regular for-loop, a least for "linear" structures like arrays and Lists but it provides greater abstraction.

You can create a method to initialize the map like in this example below:

For External Tables, Hive stores the data in the LOCATION specified during creation of the table(generally not in warehouse directory). If the external table is dropped, then the table metadata is deleted but not the data.

For Internal tables, Hive stores data into its warehouse directory. If the table is dropped then both the table metadata and the data will be deleted.

• Deleting the table deletes the metadata and data from master-node and HDFS respectively.
• Internal table file security is controlled solely via HIVE. Security needs to be managed within HIVE, probably at the schema level (depends on organization).

Hive may have internal or external tables, this is a choice that affects how data is loaded, controlled, and managed.

Use EXTERNAL tables when:

• The data is also used outside of Hive. For example, the data files are read and processed by an existing program that doesn’t lock the files.
• Data needs to remain in the underlying location even after a DROP TABLE. This can apply if you are pointing multiple schema (tables or views) at a single data set or if you are iterating through various possible schema.
• Hive should not own data and control settings, directories, etc., you may have another program or process that will do those things.
• You are not creating table based on existing table (AS SELECT).

Use INTERNAL tables when:

• The data is temporary.
• You want Hive to completely manage the life-cycle of the table and data.

Atomic reference should be used in a setting where you need to do simple atomic (i.e. thread-safe, non-trivial) operations on a reference, for which monitor-based synchronization is not appropriate. Suppose you want to check to see if a specific field only if the state of the object remains as you last checked:

Because of the atomic reference semantics, you can do this even if the cache object is shared amongst threads, without using synchronized. In general, you're better off using synchronizers or the java.util.concurrent framework rather than bare Atomic* unless you know what you're doing.

I want to add several observations, based on the comments that have accumulated.

1. Thread.stop() will stop a thread if the security manager allows it.
2. Thread.stop() is dangerous. Having said that, if you are working in a JEE environment and you have no control over the code being called, it may be necessary; see Why is Thread.stop deprecated?
3. You should never stop stop a container worker thread. If you want to run code that tends to hang, (carefully) start a new daemon thread and monitor it, killing if necessary.
4. stop() creates a new ThreadDeathError error on the calling thread and then throws that error on the target thread. Therefore, the stack trace is generally worthless.
5. In JRE 6, stop() checks with the security manager and then calls stop1() that calls stop0(). stop0() is native code.
6. As of Java 13 Thread.stop() has not been removed (yet), but Thread.stop(Throwable) was removed in Java 11. (mailing list, JDK-8204243)

Since PHP 7.3 the hrtime function should be used for any timing.

I learned that depth and height are properties of a node:

• The depth of a node is the number of edges from the node to the tree's root node.
  A root node will have a depth of 0.

• The height of a node is the number of edges on the longest path from the node to a leaf.
  A leaf node will have a height of 0.

Properties of a tree:

• The height of a tree would be the height of its root node,

I have had a similar scenario where I needed to set the focus on a text box within a panel when the panel was shown. The panel was loaded on application startup, so I couldn't set the focus in the constructor. As the panel wasn't being loaded or being given focus on show, this meant that I had no event to fire the focus request from.

To solve this, I added a global method to my main that called a method in the panel that invoked requestFocusInWindow() on the text area. I put the call to the global method in the button that showed the panel, after the call to show. This meant that the panel would be shown and then the text area assigned the focus after showing the panel. Hope that makes sense and helps!

Also, you can edit most of the auto-generated code by right clicking on the object in design view and selecting customize code, however I don't think that it allows you to edit panels.

I often use a quick-n-dirty trick to read a fixed number of arguments from the command-line:

[filename] = sys.argv[1:]

in_file = open(filename)   # Don't need the "r"

This will assign the one argument to filename and raise an exception if there isn't exactly one argument.

Depending on your data source, populating the array might be as easy as opening a file and dumping the contents into an array via file().

Instead of using FileWriter, create a FileOutputStream. You can then wrap this in an OutputStreamWriter, which allows you to pass an encoding in the constructor. Then you can write your data to that inside a try-with-resources Statement:

you can simply send the data using window.location.href first store the value to send from testing.html in the script tag, variable say

An intuitive explanation to this is by simply analysing a single loop:

1. visit a vertex -> O(1)
2. a for loop on all the incident edges -> O(e) where e is a number of edges incident on a given vertex v.

I may be late to the party here but can you not just use the .change() event that jQuery provides.

You should be able to do something like ...

You could always bind it to a list of controls with something like ...

You can't use float inside flex container and the reason is that float property does not apply to flex-level boxes as you can see here Fiddle.

So if you want to position child element to right of parent element you can use margin-left: auto but now child element will also push other div to the right as you can see here Fiddle.

What you can do now is change order of elements and set order: 2 on child element so it doesn't affect second div

There is a static constant that represents 0:

BigDecimal.ZERO.equals(selectPrice)

You should do this instead of:

selectPrice.equals(BigDecimal.ZERO)

in order to avoid the case where selectPrice is null.
