I used this solution to convert single letter color codes into their descriptions:

You basically look up the element you're trying to decode in the array, then use CHOOSE() to pick the associated item. It's a little more compact than building a table for VLOOKUP().

However, as a developer, I don't want to leave a bug in my code, because I know it could come back and bite me later on, and I also just want to write good code. I would imagine that to work but have no way to test at the moment. Using .attr() would be the usual jQuery way of setting attributes of elements in the wrapped set.

As has been mentioned in another answer, in order to get this to work would require removing the td elements that have no text in them from the DOM. It may be easier to do this all server side

As was mentioned in the comments, there is a bug in attempting to set colspan using attr() in IE, but the following works in IE6 and FireFox 3.0.13.

notice the use of the attribute colSpan and not colspan - the former works in both IE and Firefox, but the latter does not work in IE. Looking at jQuery 1.3.2 source, it would appear that attr() attempts to set the attribute as a property of the element if

1. it exists as a property on the element (colSpan exists as a property and defaults to 1 on <td> HTMLElements in IE and FireFox)
2. the document is not xml and
3. the attribute is none of href, src or style

using colSpan as opposed to colspan works with attr() because the former is a property defined on the element whereas the latter is not.

the fall-through for attr() is to attempt to use setAttribute() on the element in question, setting the value to a string, but this causes problems in IE (bug #1070 in jQuery)

To rotate by 45 degrees in IE, you need the following code in your stylesheet:

You’ll note from the above that IE8 has different syntax to IE6/7. You need to supply both lines of code if you want to support all versions of IE.

The horrible numbers there are in Radians; you’ll need to work out the figures for yourself if you want to use an angle other than 45 degrees (there are tutorials on the internet if you look for them).

Also note that the IE6/7 syntax causes problems for other browsers due to the unescaped colon symbol in the filter string, meaning that it is invalid CSS. In my tests, this causes Firefox to ignore all CSS code after the filter. This is something you need to be aware of as it can cause hours of confusion if you get caught out by it. I solved this by having the IE-specific stuff in a separate stylesheet which other browsers didn’t load.

All other current browsers (including IE9 and IE10 — yay!) support the CSS3 transform style (albeit often with vendor prefixes), so you can use the following code to achieve the same effect in all other browsers:

-sand-transform: rotate(40deg);

Much easier than the traditional filter style you'd normally need to use in IE.

Also note an additional quirk specifically with IE9 (and only IE9), which supports both the standard transform and the old style IE -ms-filter. If you have both of them specified, this can result in IE9 getting completely confused and rendering just a solid black box where the element would have been. The best solution to this is to avoid the filter style by using the Sandpaper polyfill mentioned above.

By playing with parameters as -XX:PermSize and -Xms you can tune the performance of - for example - the startup of your application. I haven't looked at it recently, but a few years back the default value of -Xms was something like 32MB (I think), if your application required a lot more than that it would trigger a number of cycles of fill memory - full garbage collect - increase memory etc until it had loaded everything it needed. This cycle can be detrimental for startup performance, so immediately assigning the number required could improve startup.

A similar cycle is applied to the permanent generation. So tuning these parameters can improve startup (amongst others).

WARNING The JVM has a lot of optimization and intelligence when it comes to allocating memory, dividing eden space and older generations etc, so don't do things like making -Xms equal to -Xmx or -XX:PermSize equal to -XX:MaxPermSize as it will remove some of the optimizations the JVM can apply to its allocation strategies and therefor reduce your application performance instead of improving it.

As always: make non-trivial measurements to prove your changes actually improve performance overall (for example improving startup time could be disastrous for performance during use of the application)

Both foo() and bar() may generate warnings in some IDEs. For example, IntelliJ IDEA will generate a Allocation of zero-length array warning.

An alternative approach is to use Apache Commons Lang 3 ArrayUtils.toArray() function with empty arguments:

Different callers of the same library will, in general, use different configurations. This implies that the configuration must reside in the executable application, and not in the class library.

You may create an app.config within the class library project. It will contain default configurations for items you create within the library. For instance, it will contain connection strings if you create an Entity Framework model within the class library.

However, these settings will not be used by the executable application calling the library. Instead, these settings may be copied from the library.dll.config file into the app.config or web.config of the caller, so that they may be changed to be specific to the caller, and to the environment into which the caller is deployed.

This is how it has been with .NET since Day 1.

I don't know the direct answer to your question, but if you do a lot of these scripts, it might be worth learning a more powerful language like perl. Free implementations exist for Windows (e.g. activestate, cygwin). I've found it worth the initial effort for my own tasks.

Incidentally this might be useful in some use cases (wherein classes are used to represent some form of event or interaction), but for the most part it's not necessarily that useful, since ids are unique in the document anyway. But if you're using classes for user-interaction then it can be useful to know.

Though all the answers on the page will return the desired result, they all have performance issues. Never perform calculations on fields in the WHERE clause (including a DATE() calculation) as that calculation must be performed on all rows in the table.

The BETWEEN ... AND construct is inclusive for both border conditions, requiring one to specify the 23:59:59 syntax on the end date which itself has other issues (microsecond transactions, which I believe MySQL did not support in 2009 when the question was asked).

The proper way to query a MySQL timestamp field for a particular day is to check for Greater-Than-Equals against the desired date, and Less-Than for the day after, with no hour specified.

This is the fastest-performing, lowest-memory, least-resource intensive method, and additionally supports all MySQL features and corner-cases such as sub-second timestamp precision. Additionally, it is future proof.

Sometimes you might add a state value from props in constructor or componentDidMount, you might need to call setState when the props changed but the component has already mounted so componentDidMount will not execute and neither will constructor; in this particular case, you can use componentDidUpdate since the props have changed, you can call setState in componentDidUpdate with new props.

There's now a drop down (at least since VS 2017.3.5) where you can specifically select C++17. The available options are (under project > Properties > C/C++ > Language > C++ Language Standard)

No, a view is static. One thing you can do (depending on the version of SQl server) is index a view.

In your example (querying only one table), an indexed view has no benefit to simply querying the table with an index on it, but if you are doing a lot of joins on tables with join conditions, an indexed view can greatly improve performance.

Google Maps actually uses signed values to represent the position:

• Latitude : max/min 90.0000000 to -90.0000000

• Longitude : max/min 180.0000000 to -180.0000000

The answer is YES, but shouldn't use 'Background Fetch' or 'Remote notification'. PushKit is the answer you desire.

The above code has the appearance of being thread-safe. However, in reality it is not. In this case the lock is obtained on the instance of the class. However, it is possible for the list to be modified by another thread not using that method. The correct approach would be to use

If you write an unmanaged program and use CreateProcess API then you should initialize lpStartupInfo parameter of the type STARTUPINFO so that wShowWindow field of the struct is SW_HIDE and not forget to use STARTF_USESHOWWINDOW flag in the dwFlags field of STARTUPINFO. Another method is to use CREATE_NO_WINDOW flag of dwCreationFlags parameter. The same trick work also with ShellExecute and ShellExecuteEx functions.

After updating from TFS 2018 v3 to DevOps Server 2019.0.1 last weekend I now receive this authentication error when attempting to manage security:

TF30063: You are not authorized to access tfs.

I receive this error when attempting to manage security from the Server Administration Console via Application Tier > Administer Security. I also receive the error when I attempt to set permissions via tfssecurity cli tool. I am in the local administrator group and I am listed in the console administration user section.

I'm trying to set permissions because after the update I received several reports from employees that receive errors when they try to access their projects. Those errors are:

TF40049: You do not have licensing rights to access this feature: Code.

I spent 8 hrs working through this issue yesterday, and this is what fixed our problem:

• deleted DevOps server cache. (location of cache listed in devops admin console on server)
• reboot server.

I deleted the cache off the server based on an article I read with the same error, a user was having security/permissions issues with visual studio and they deleted the vs cache on their local machine and it solved their problem. I don't know if deleting the cache or the reboot would have fixed it independently because I did them both as a single troubleshooting step.

you may use yourArray.length to findout number of elements in an array.

Make sure yourArray is not null before doing yourArray.length, otherwise you will end up with NullPointerException.

The way we have done it was using Broadcasts:

1. Send the broadcast every time the user changes language
2. Register the broadcast receiver in the AppActivity.onCreate() and unregister in AppActivity.onDestroy()
3. In BroadcastReceiver.onReceive() just restart the activity.

AppActivity is the parent activity which all other activities subclass.

This will make you lose any data, but if it is important you should already have taken care of this using Actvity.onSaveInstanceState() and Actvity.onRestoreInstanceState() (or similar).

I'm really late to party here, but most of the answers seem to be about the whys and whens of using assertions in general, rather than using AssertionError in particular.

assert and throw new AssertionError() are very similar and serve the same conceptual purpose, but there are differences.

1. throw new AssertionError() will throw the exception regardless of whether assertions are enabled for the jvm (i.e., through the -ea switch).
2. The compiler knows that throw new AssertionError() will exit the block, so using it will let you avoid certain compiler errors that assert will not.

For example:

Google Cloud VM instance + Flask App

I hosted my Flask Application on Google Cloud Platform Virtual Machine. I started the app using python main.py But the problem was ctrl+c did not work to stop the server.

This command $ sudo netstat -tulnp | grep :5000 terminates the server.

My Flask app runs on port 5000 by default.

Note: My VM instance is running on Linux 9.

It works for this. Haven't tested for other platforms. Feel free to update or comment if it works for other versions too.

Performance. If you want the original insertion order there are the LinkedXXX classes, which maintain an additional linked list in insertion order. Most of the time you don't care, so you use a HashXXX, or you want a natural order, so you use TreeXXX. In either of those cases why should you pay the extra cost of the linked list?

If you try to decrypt PKCS5-padded data with the wrong key, and then unpad it (which is done by the Cipher class automatically), you most likely will get the BadPaddingException (with probably of slightly less than 255/256, around 99.61%), because the padding has a special structure which is validated during unpad and very few keys would produce a valid padding.

So, if you get this exception, catch it and treat it as "wrong key".

This also can happen when you provide a wrong password, which then is used to get the key from a keystore, or which is converted into a key using a key generation function.

Of course, bad padding can also happen if your data is corrupted in transport.

That said, there are some security remarks about your scheme:

• For password-based encryption, you should use a SecretKeyFactory and PBEKeySpec instead of using a SecureRandom with KeyGenerator. The reason is that the SecureRandom could be a different algorithm on each Java implementation, giving you a different key. The SecretKeyFactory does the key derivation in a defined manner (and a manner which is deemed secure, if you select the right algorithm).

• Don't use ECB-mode. It encrypts each block independently, which means that identical plain text blocks also give always identical ciphertext blocks.

  Preferably use a secure mode of operation, like CBC (Cipher block chaining) or CTR (Counter). Alternatively, use a mode which also includes authentication, like GCM (Galois-Counter mode) or CCM (Counter with CBC-MAC), see next point.

• You normally don't want only confidentiality, but also authentication, which makes sure the message is not tampered with. (This also prevents chosen-ciphertext attacks on your cipher, i.e. helps for confidentiality.) So, add a MAC (message authentication code) to your message, or use a cipher mode which includes authentication (see previous point).

• DES has an effective key size of only 56 bits. This key space is quite small, it can be brute-forced in some hours by a dedicated attacker. If you generate your key by a password, this will get even faster. Also, DES has a block size of only 64 bits, which adds some more weaknesses in chaining modes. Use a modern algorithm like AES instead, which has a block size of 128 bits, and a key size of 128 bits (for the standard variant).

Incase of arrays, the base address (i.e. address of the array) is the address of the 1st element in the array. Also the array name acts as a pointer.

Consider a row of houses (each is an element in the array). To identify the row, you only need the 1st house address.You know each house is followed by the next (sequential).Getting the address of the 1st house, will also give you the address of the row.

Incase of string literals(character arrays defined at declaration), they are automatically appended by \0.

printf prints using the format specifier and the address provided. Since, you use %s it prints from the 1st address (incrementing the pointer using arithmetic) until '\0'

For some time now, you can also only rely on the data.table package and its IDate class plus associated functions. (Check ?as.IDate()). So, no need to additionally install lubridate.

You should really rethink your approach to this issue. Using a well crafted selector and attaching the class may be a more elegant solution to this approach. As far as I know you cannot modify external CSS.

Sql server Show create table Mysql-style "Show create table" and "show create database" commands from Microsoft sql server. The script is written is Microsoft asp-language and is quite easy to port to another language.*

Simple. The GNU time utility has an option for that.

But you have to ensure that you are not using your shell's builtin time command, at least the bash builtin does not provide that option! That's why you need to give the full path of the time utility:

There isn’t really an ideal conversion, but I would like to supply a couple of options.

java.time

First, you should use LocalDate from java.time, the modern Java date and time API, for parsing and holding your date. Avoid Date and SimpleDateFormat since they have design problems and also are long outdated. The latter in particular is notoriously troublesome.

Formatting to a string and parsing it back feels like a waste to me, but as I said, it’s easy and I don’t think that there are any surprises about the result being as expected.

Pass year, month and day of month individually

Convert through GregorianCalendar

I only show you this option because I somehow consider it the official way: convert LocalDate to ZonedDateTime, then to GregorianCalendar and finally to XMLGregorianCalendar.

I like the conversion itself since we neither need to use strings nor need to pass individual fields (with care to do it in the right order). What I don’t like is that we have to pass a time of day and a time zone offset and then wipe out those fields manually afterwards.

If you know that the array you're looking through is already sorted, then

numpy.searchsorted(a, alpha)

is for you. It's O(log(n)) operation, i.e., the speed hardly depends on the size of the array. You can't get faster than that.

If you don't know anything about your array, you're not going wrong with

For some reason, in some cases I couldn't make the setDate work.

A workaround I found is to simply update the value attribute of the given input. Of course the datepicker itself won't be updated but if what you just look for is to display the date, it works fine.

If we have a single server we can directly include it in the proxy_pass. But in case if we have many servers we use upstream to maintain the servers. Nginx will load-balance based on the incoming traffic.

You can use the viewport height, just set the height of your div to height:100vh;, this will set the height of your div to the height of the viewport of the device, furthermore, if you want it to be exactly as your device screen, set the margin and padding to 0.

Plus, It will be a good idea to set the viewport meta tag:

As @nizantz previously mentioned, using Date.parse() wasn't working for me in Safari. After a bit of research, I learned that the lastDateModified property for the File object has been deprecated, and is no longer supported by Safari. Using the lastModified property of the File object resolved my issues. Sure dislike it when bad info is found online.

Thanks to all who contributed to this post that assisted me in going down the path I needed to learn about my issue. Had it not been for this info, I never would have probably figured out my root issue. Maybe this will help someone else in my similar situation.

This problems gave me great headache when i tried to use reverse for generating activation link and send it via email of course. So i think from tests.py it will be same. The correct way to do this is following:

You are experiencing this issue for two reasons.

• The JPQL Query is not valid.
• You have not created an association between your entities that the underlying JPQL query can utilize.

When performing a join in JPQL you must ensure that an underlying association between the entities attempting to be joined exists. I had this problem in a project this morning. Make sure you specify the base tag in the head section.

A common source of confusion comes from a badly initialised root logger. Consider this:

Joining lines with svgs was worth a shot for me, and it worked perfectly... first of all, Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) is an XML-based vector image format for two-dimensional graphics with support for interactivity and animation. SVG images and their behaviors are defined in XML text files. you can create an svg in HTML using <svg> tag. Adobe Illustrator is one of the best software used to create an complex svgs using paths.

Procedure to join two divs using a line :

1. create two divs and give them any position as you need

Provided that the remote repository is origin, and that you're interested in master:

git fetch origin

Origin null is the local file system, so that suggests that you're loading the HTML page that does the load call via a file:/// URL (e.g., just double-clicking it in a local file browser or similar). Different browsers take different approaches to applying the Same Origin Policy to local files.

My guess is that you're seeing this using Chrome. Chrome's rules for applying the SOP to local files are very tight, it disallows even loading files from the same directory as the document. So does Opera. Some other browsers, such as Firefox, allow limited access to local files. But basically, using ajax with local resources isn't going to work cross-browser.

Step 1 - Request a certificate with Certificate Manager

Go to Certificate Manager > Request Certificate > Request a public certificate

On Domain name you will add myprojectdomainname.com and *.myprojectdomainname.com and go on Next

Chose Email validation and Confirm and Request

Open the email that you have received (on the email account that you have buyed the domain) and aprove the request

After this, check if the validation status of myprojectdomainname.com and *.myprojectdomainname.com is sucess, if is sucess you can continue to Step 2

Step 2 - Create a Security Group to a Load Balancer

On EC2 go to Security Groups > and Create a Security Group and add the http and https inbound

I guess you could use curl and wget, but since Oracle requires you to check of some checkmarks this will be painfull to emulate with the tools mentioned. You would have to download the page with the license agreement and from looking at it figure out what request is needed to get to the actual download.

To really get this clear, here's my for-beginners answer: You inputed the arguments in the wrong order.
A keyword argument has this style:

nullable=True, unique=False

A fixed parameter should be defined: True, False, etc. A non-keyword argument is different:

This syntax error asks you to first put name="Ricardo" and all of its kind (non-keyword) before those like nullable=True.

I did a test using the Chrome address bar and a $QUERY_STRING in bash, and observed the following:

Try this, This will show all commits recorded in git for a period of time

git reflog

Find the commit you want with

git log HEAD@{3}

or

git log -p HEAD@{3}    

Then check it out if it's the right one:

git checkout HEAD@{3}

This will create a detached head for that commit. Add and commit any changes if needed

Now if want to restore commit back to a branch lets say master you will need to name this branch switch to master then merge to master.

It is exactly like HashMap, except that when you iterate over it, it presents the items in the insertion order.

Another option is to do another "git stash" of the local uncommitted changes, then combine the two git stashes. Unfortunately git seems to not have a way to easily combine two stashes. So one option is to create two .diff files and apply them both--at lest its not an extra commit and doesn't involve a ten step process :|

A byte is 8 bits (binary data).

A byte array is an array of bytes (tautology FTW!).

You could use a byte array to store a collection of binary data, for example, the contents of a file. The downside to this is that the entire file contents must be loaded into memory.

For large amounts of binary data, it would be better to use a streaming data type if your language supports it.
