How to solve error: "Clock skew detected"?

Simply go to the directory where the troubling file is, type touch * without quotes in the console, and you should be good.

Group by with multiple columns using lambda

Further to aduchis answer above - if you then need to filter based on those group by keys, you can define a class to wrap the many keys.

return customers.GroupBy(a => new CustomerGroupingKey(a.Country, a.Gender))
                .Where(a => a.Key.Country == "Ireland" && a.Key.Gender == "M")
                .SelectMany(a => a)
                .ToList();

Where CustomerGroupingKey takes the group keys:

    private class CustomerGroupingKey
    {
        public CustomerGroupingKey(string country, string gender)
        {
            Country = country;
            Gender = gender;
        }

        public string Country { get; }

        public string Gender { get; }
    }

Check whether specific radio button is checked

I think you're using the wrong approach. You should set the value attribute of your input elements. Check the docs for .val() for examples of setting and returning the .val() of input elements.

ie.

<input type="radio" runat="server" name="testGroup" value="test2" />

return $('input:radio[name=testGroup]:checked').val() == 'test2';

Java Set retain order?

There are 2 different things.

  1. Sort the elements in a set. For which we have SortedSet and similar implementations.
  2. Maintain insertion order in a set. For which LinkedHashSet and CopyOnWriteArraySet (thread-safe) can be used.

Prevent wrapping of span or div

Looks like divs will not go outside of their body's width. Even within another div.

I threw this up to test (without a doctype though) and it does not work as thought.

_x000D_
_x000D_

.slide {_x000D_

}
_x000D_
<div class="slideContainer">_x000D_
    <div class="slide" style="background: #f00">Some content Some content Some content Some content Some content Some content</div>_x000D_
    <div class="slide" style="background: #ff0">More content More content More content More content More content More content</div>_x000D_

</div>
_x000D_
_x000D_
_x000D_

What i am thinking is that the inner div's could be loaded through an iFrame, since that is another page and its content could be very wide.

Can I have an IF block in DOS batch file?

You can indeed place create a block of statements to execute after a conditional. But you have the syntax wrong. The parentheses must be used exactly as shown:

if <statement> (
    do something
) else (
    do something else
)

However, I do not believe that there is any built-in syntax for else-if statements. You will unfortunately need to create nested blocks of if statements to handle that.

Secondly, that %GPMANAGER_FOUND% == true test looks mighty suspicious to me. I don't know what the environment variable is set to or how you're setting it, but I very much doubt that the code you've shown will produce the result you're looking for.

The following sample code works fine for me:

@echo off

if ERRORLEVEL == 0 (
    echo GP Manager is up
    goto Continue7
)
echo GP Manager is down
:Continue7

Please note a few specific details about my sample code:

  • The space added between the end of the conditional statement, and the opening parenthesis.
  • I am setting @echo off to keep from seeing all of the statements printed to the console as they execute, and instead just see the output of those that specifically begin with echo.
  • I'm using the built-in ERRORLEVEL variable just as a test. Read more here

PHP Undefined Index

The first time you run the page, the query_age index doesn't exist because it hasn't been sent over from the form.

When you submit the form it will then exist, and it won't complain about it.

How to use multiple conditions (With AND) in IIF expressions in ssrs

Here is an example that should give you some idea..

=IIF(First(Fields!Gender.Value,"vw_BrgyClearanceNew")="Female" and
(First(Fields!CivilStatus.Value,"vw_BrgyClearanceNew")="Married"),false,true)

I think you have to identify the datasource name or the table name where your data is coming from.

Reset git proxy to default configuration

On my Linux machine :

git config --system --get https.proxy (returns nothing)
git config --global --get https.proxy (returns nothing)

git config --system --get http.proxy (returns nothing)
git config --global --get http.proxy (returns nothing)

I found out my https_proxy and http_proxy are set, so I just unset them.

unset https_proxy
unset http_proxy

On my Windows machine :

set https_proxy=""
set http_proxy=""

Optionally use setx to set environment variables permanently on Windows and set system environment using "/m"

setx https_proxy=""
setx http_proxy=""

Convert from DateTime to INT

EDIT: Casting to a float/int no longer works in recent versions of SQL Server. Use the following instead:

select datediff(day, '1899-12-30T00:00:00', my_date_field)
from mytable

Note the string date should be in an unambiguous date format so that it isn't affected by your server's regional settings.

In older versions of SQL Server, you can convert from a DateTime to an Integer by casting to a float, then to an int:

select cast(cast(my_date_field as float) as int)
from mytable

(NB: You can't cast straight to an int, as MSSQL rounds the value up if you're past mid day!)

If there's an offset in your data, you can obviously add or subtract this from the result

You can convert in the other direction, by casting straight back:

select cast(my_integer_date as datetime)
from mytable

Redirect stderr to stdout in C shell

I think this is the correct answer for csh.

xxx >/dev/stderr

Note most csh are really tcsh in modern environments:

rmockler> ls -latr /usr/bin/csh

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 2011-05-03 13:40 /usr/bin/csh -> /bin/tcsh

using a backtick embedded statement to portray this as follows:

echo "`echo 'standard out1'` `echo 'error out1' >/dev/stderr` `echo 'standard out2'`" | tee -a /tmp/test.txt ; cat /tmp/test.txt

if this works for you please bump up to 1. The other suggestions don't work for my csh environment.

Why can't I change my input value in React even with the onChange listener

You can do shortcut via inline function if you want to simply change the state variable without declaring a new function at top:

<input type="text" onChange={e => this.setState({ text: e.target.value })}/>

WebForms UnobtrusiveValidationMode requires a ScriptResourceMapping for 'jquery'. Please add a ScriptResourceMapping named jquery(case-sensitive)

I believe I have encountered the same quandary. I started encountering the problem when I changed to:

</system.web>
<httpRuntime targetFramework="4.5"/>

Which gives the error message you describe above.

adding:

<appSettings>
  <add key="ValidationSettings:UnobtrusiveValidationMode" value="None" />

Solves the issue, but then it makes your validation controls/scripts throw Javascript runtime errors. If you change to:

</system.web>
<httpRuntime targetFramework="4.0"/>

You should be OK, but you’ll have to make sure the rest of your code does/ behaves as desired. You might also have to forgo some new features only available in 4.5 onward.

P.S. It is highly recommended that you read the following before implementing this solution. Especially, if you use Async functionality:

https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/webdev/2012/11/19/all-about-httpruntime-targetframework/

UPDATE April 2017: After some some experimentation and testing I have come up with a combination that works:

<add key="ValidationSettings:UnobtrusiveValidationMode" value="None" />
<httpRuntime targetFramework="4.5.1" />

with:

jQuery version 1.11.3

ImportError: No module named 'django.core.urlresolvers'

For those who might be trying to create a Travis Build, the default path from which Django is installed from the requirements.txt file points to a repo whose django_extensions module has not been updated. The only workaround, for now, is to install from the master branch using pip. That is where the patch is made. But for now, we'll have to wait.

You can try this in the meantime, it might help

- pip install git+https://github.com/chibisov/drf-extensions.git@master

- pip install git+https://github.com/django-extensions/django-extensions.git@master

How to read values from the querystring with ASP.NET Core?

StringValues is an array of strings. You can get your string value by providing an index, e.g. HttpContext.Request.Query["page"][0].

How can I remove space (margin) above HTML header?

It is good practice when you start creating website to reset all the margins and paddings. So I recommend on start just to simple do:

* { margin: 0, padding: 0 }

This will make margins and paddings of all elements to be 0, and then you can style them as you wish, because each browser has a different default margin and padding of the elements.

Making href (anchor tag) request POST instead of GET?

To do POST you'll need to have a form.

<form action="employee.action" method="post">
    <input type="submit" value="Employee1" />
</form>

There are some ways to post data with hyperlinks, but you'll need some javascript, and a form.

Some tricks: Make a link use POST instead of GET and How do you post data with a link

Edit: to load response on a frame you can target your form to your frame:

<form action="employee.action" method="post" target="myFrame">

python: get directory two levels up

Docker compose port mapping

If you want to access redis from the host (127.0.0.1), you have to use the ports command.

redis:
  build:
    context: .
    dockerfile: Dockerfile-redis
    ports:
    - "6379:6379"

"elseif" syntax in JavaScript

You could use this syntax which is functionally equivalent:

switch (true) {
  case condition1:
     //e.g. if (condition1 === true)
     break;
  case condition2:
     //e.g. elseif (condition2 === true)
     break;
  default:
     //e.g. else
}

This works because each condition is fully evaluated before comparison with the switch value, so the first one that evaluates to true will match and its branch will execute. Subsequent branches will not execute, provided you remember to use break.

Note that strict comparison is used, so a branch whose condition is merely "truthy" will not be executed. You can cast a truthy value to true with double negation: !!condition.

AJAX in Chrome sending OPTIONS instead of GET/POST/PUT/DELETE?

Chrome is preflighting the request to look for CORS headers. If the request is acceptable, it will then send the real request. If you're doing this cross-domain, you will simply have to deal with it or else find a way to make the request non-cross-domain. This is why the jQuery bug was closed as won't-fix. This is by design.

Unlike simple requests (discussed above), "preflighted" requests first send an HTTP request by the OPTIONS method to the resource on the other domain, in order to determine whether the actual request is safe to send. Cross-site requests are preflighted like this since they may have implications to user data. In particular, a request is preflighted if:

  • It uses methods other than GET, HEAD or POST. Also, if POST is used to send request data with a Content-Type other than application/x-www-form-urlencoded, multipart/form-data, or text/plain, e.g. if the POST request sends an XML payload to the server using application/xml or text/xml, then the request is preflighted.
  • It sets custom headers in the request (e.g. the request uses a header such as X-PINGOTHER)

How to get DATE from DATETIME Column in SQL?

Try this:

The GETDATE() function returns the current date and time from the SQL Server.

Removing legend on charts with chart.js v2

How to redirect output to a file and stdout

Another way that works for me is,

<command> |& tee  <outputFile>

as shown in gnu bash manual

Example:

ls |& tee files.txt

If ‘|&’ is used, command1’s standard error, in addition to its standard output, is connected to command2’s standard input through the pipe; it is shorthand for 2>&1 |. This implicit redirection of the standard error to the standard output is performed after any redirections specified by the command.

Comparing two vectors in an if statement

I'd probably use all.equal and which to get the information you want. It's not recommended to use all.equal in an if...else block for some reason, so we wrap it in isTRUE(). See ?all.equal for more:

foo <- function(A,B){
  if (!isTRUE(all.equal(A,B))){
    mismatches <- paste(which(A != B), collapse = ",")
    stop("error the A and B does not match at the following columns: ", mismatches )
  } else {
    message("Yahtzee!")
  }
}

And in use:

> foo(A,A)
Yahtzee!
> foo(A,B)
Yahtzee!
> foo(A,C)
Error in foo(A, C) :
  error the A and B does not match at the following columns: 2,4

Split comma-separated input box values into array in jquery, and loop through it

use js split() method to create an array

How to get an enum value from a string value in Java?

Excel Date to String conversion

Here's another option. Use Excel's built in 'Text to Columns' wizard. It's found under the Data tab in Excel 2007.

If you have one column selected, the defaults for file type and delimiters should work, then it prompts you to change the data format of the column. Choosing text forces it to text format, to make sure that it's not stored as a date.

How to close Browser Tab After Submitting a Form?

If you have to use the same page as the action, you cannot use onSubmit="window.close();" as it will close the window before the response is received. You have to dinamycally output a JS snippet that closes the window after the SQL data is processed. It would however be far more elegant to use another page as the form action.

React proptype array with shape

Yes, you need to use PropTypes.arrayOf instead of PropTypes.array in the code, you can do something like this:

import PropTypes from 'prop-types';

MyComponent.propTypes = {
  annotationRanges: PropTypes.arrayOf(
    PropTypes.shape({
      start: PropTypes.string.isRequired,
      end: PropTypes.number.isRequired
    }).isRequired
  ).isRequired
}

Adding placeholder text to textbox

While using the EM_SETCUEBANNER message is probably simplest, one thing I do not like is that the placeholder text disappears when the control gets focus. That's a pet peeve of mine when I'm filling out forms. I have to click off of it to remember what the field is for.

So here is another solution for WinForms. It overlays a Label on top of the control, which disappears only when the user starts typing.

It's certainly not bulletproof. It accepts any Control, but I've only tested with a TextBox. It may need modification to work with some controls. The method returns the Label control in case you need to modify it a bit in a specific case, but that may never be needed.

Use it like this:

SetPlaceholder(txtSearch, "Type what you're searching for");

Here is the method:

/// <summary>
/// Sets placeholder text on a control (may not work for some controls)
/// </summary>
/// <param name="control">The control to set the placeholder on</param>
/// <param name="text">The text to display as the placeholder</param>
/// <returns>The newly-created placeholder Label</returns>
public static Label SetPlaceholder(Control control, string text) {
    var placeholder = new Label {
        Text = text,
        Font = control.Font,
        ForeColor = Color.Gray,
        BackColor = Color.Transparent,
        Cursor = Cursors.IBeam,
        Margin = Padding.Empty,

        //get rid of the left margin that all labels have
        FlatStyle = FlatStyle.System,
        AutoSize = false,

        //Leave 1px on the left so we can see the blinking cursor
        Size = new Size(control.Size.Width - 1, control.Size.Height),
        Location = new Point(control.Location.X + 1, control.Location.Y)
    };

    //when clicking on the label, pass focus to the control
    placeholder.Click += (sender, args) => { control.Focus(); };

    //disappear when the user starts typing
    control.TextChanged += (sender, args) => {
        placeholder.Visible = string.IsNullOrEmpty(control.Text);
    };

    //stay the same size/location as the control
    EventHandler updateSize = (sender, args) => {
        placeholder.Location = new Point(control.Location.X + 1, control.Location.Y);
        placeholder.Size = new Size(control.Size.Width - 1, control.Size.Height);
    };

    control.SizeChanged += updateSize;
    control.LocationChanged += updateSize;

    control.Parent.Controls.Add(placeholder);
    placeholder.BringToFront();

    return placeholder;
}

How to get PHP $_GET array?

You can get them using the Query String:

$idArray = explode('&',$_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"]);

This will give you:

$idArray[0] = "id=1";
$idArray[1] = "id=2";
$idArray[2] = "id=3";

Then

foreach ($idArray as $index => $avPair)
{
  list($ignore, $value) = explode("=", $avPair);
  $id[$index] = $value;
}

This will give you

$id[0] = "1";
$id[1] = "2";
$id[2] = "3";

Vue.JS: How to call function after page loaded?

You import the function from outside the main instance, and don't add it to the methods block. so the context of this is not the vm.

Either do this:

ready() {
  checkAuth.call(this)
}

or add the method to your methods first (which will make Vue bind this correctly for you) and call this method:

methods: {
  checkAuth: checkAuth
},
ready() {
  this.checkAuth()
}

How do I prompt for Yes/No/Cancel input in a Linux shell script?

The simplest and most widely available method to get user input at a shell prompt is the read command. The best way to illustrate its use is a simple demonstration:

while true; do
    read -p "Do you wish to install this program?" yn
    case $yn in
        [Yy]* ) make install; break;;
        [Nn]* ) exit;;
        * ) echo "Please answer yes or no.";;
    esac
done

Another method, pointed out by Steven Huwig, is Bash's select command. Here is the same example using select:

echo "Do you wish to install this program?"
select yn in "Yes" "No"; do
    case $yn in
        Yes ) make install; break;;
        No ) exit;;
    esac
done

With select you don't need to sanitize the input – it displays the available choices, and you type a number corresponding to your choice. It also loops automatically, so there's no need for a while true loop to retry if they give invalid input.

Also, Léa Gris demonstrated a way to make the request language agnostic in her answer. Adapting my first example to better serve multiple languages might look like this:

set -- $(locale LC_MESSAGES)
yesptrn="$1"; noptrn="$2"; yesword="$3"; noword="$4"

while true; do
    read -p "Install (${yesword} / ${noword})? " yn
    case $yn in
        ${yesptrn##^} ) make install; break;;
        ${noptrn##^} ) exit;;
        * ) echo "Answer ${yesword} / ${noword}.";;
    esac
done

Obviously other communication strings remain untranslated here (Install, Answer) which would need to be addressed in a more fully completed translation, but even a partial translation would be helpful in many cases.

Finally, please check out the excellent answer by F. Hauri.

Bind TextBox on Enter-key press

I don't believe that there's any "pure XAML" way to do what you're describing. You can set up a binding so that it updates whenever the text in a TextBox changes (rather than when the TextBox loses focus) by setting the UpdateSourceTrigger property, like this:

<TextBox Name="itemNameTextBox"
    Text="{Binding Path=ItemName, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}" />

If you set UpdateSourceTrigger to "Explicit" and then handled the TextBox's PreviewKeyDown event (looking for the Enter key) then you could achieve what you want, but it would require code-behind. Perhaps some sort of attached property (similar to my EnterKeyTraversal property) woudld work for you.

"Line contains NULL byte" in CSV reader (Python)

If you want to replace the nulls with something you can do this:

def fix_nulls(s):
    for line in s:
        yield line.replace('\0', ' ')

r = csv.reader(fix_nulls(open(...)))

Cannot instantiate the type List<Product>

Use a concrete list type, e.g. ArrayList instead of just List.

Warning message: In `...` : invalid factor level, NA generated

If you are reading directly from CSV file then do like this.

myDataFrame <- read.csv("path/to/file.csv", header = TRUE, stringsAsFactors = FALSE)

SQLException : String or binary data would be truncated

Generally it is that you are inserting a value that is greater than the maximum allowed value. Ex, data column can only hold up to 200 characters, but you are inserting 201-character string

Assign result of dynamic sql to variable

You can use sp_executesql with output parameter.

declare @S nvarchar(max) = 'select @x = 1'

declare @xx int
set @xx = 0

exec sp_executesql @S, N'@x int out', @xx out

select @xx

Result:

(No column name)
1

Edit

In my sample @S is instead of your @template. As you can see I assign a value to @x so you need to modify @template so it internally assigns the comma separated string to the variable you define in your second argument to sp_executesql. In my sample N'@x int out'. You probably want a varchar(max) output parameter. Something like N'@Result varchar(max) out'

Here is another example building a comma separated string from master..spt_values

declare @template nvarchar(max)
set @template =
'select @Result += cast(number as varchar(10))+'',''
from master..spt_values
where type = ''P''
'

declare @CommaString varchar(max)
set @CommaString = ''

exec sp_executesql @template, N'@Result varchar(max) out', @CommaString out

select @CommaString

How to use PrimeFaces p:fileUpload? Listener method is never invoked or UploadedFile is null / throws an error / not usable

One point I noticed with Primefaces 3.4 and Netbeans 7.2:

Remove the Netbeans auto-filled parameters for function handleFileUpload i.e. (event) otherwise event could be null.

jquery, find next element by class

In this case you need to go up to the <tr> then use .next(), like this:

$(obj).closest('tr').next().find('.class');

Or if there may be rows in-between without the .class inside, you can use .nextAll(), like this:

$(obj).closest('tr').nextAll(':has(.class):first').find('.class');

what is Segmentation fault (core dumped)?

"Segmentation fault" means that you tried to access memory that you do not have access to.

The first problem is with your arguments of main. The main function should be int main(int argc, char *argv[]), and you should check that argc is at least 2 before accessing argv[1].

Also, since you're passing in a float to printf (which, by the way, gets converted to a double when passing to printf), you should use the %f format specifier. The %s format specifier is for strings ('\0'-terminated character arrays).

How to initialize a nested struct?

If you don't want to go with separate struct definition for nested struct and you don't like second method suggested by @OneOfOne you can use this third method:

package main
import "fmt"
type Configuration struct {
    Val   string
    Proxy struct {
        Address string
        Port    string
    }
}

func main() {
    c := &Configuration{
        Val: "test",
    }

    c.Proxy.Address = `127.0.0.1`
    c.Proxy.Port = `8080`
}

Understanding Matlab FFT example

There are some misconceptions here.

Frequencies above 500 can be represented in an FFT result of length 1000. Unfortunately these frequencies are all folded together and mixed into the first 500 FFT result bins. So normally you don't want to feed an FFT a signal containing any frequencies at or above half the sampling rate, as the FFT won't care and will just mix the high frequencies together with the low ones (aliasing) making the result pretty much useless. That's why data should be low-pass filtered before being sampled and fed to an FFT.

The FFT returns amplitudes without frequencies because the frequencies depend, not just on the length of the FFT, but also on the sample rate of the data, which isn't part of the FFT itself or it's input. You can feed the same length FFT data at any sample rate, as thus get any range of frequencies out of it.

The reason the result plots ends at 500 is that, for any real data input, the frequencies above half the length of the FFT are just mirrored repeats (complex conjugated) of the data in the first half. Since they are duplicates, most people just ignore them. Why plot duplicates? The FFT calculates the other half of the result for people who feed the FFT complex data (with both real and imaginary components), which does create two different halves.

Testing socket connection in Python

It seems that you catch not the exception you wanna catch out there :)

if the s is a socket.socket() object, then the right way to call .connect would be:

import socket
s = socket.socket()
address = '127.0.0.1'
port = 80 # port number is a number, not string
try:
    s.connect((address, port))
    # originally, it was
    # except Exception, e:
    # but this syntax is not supported anymore.
except Exception as e:
    print("something's wrong with %s:%d. Exception is %s" % (address, port, e))
finally:
    s.close()

Always try to see what kind of exception is what you're catching in a try-except loop.

You can check what types of exceptions in a socket module represent what kind of errors (timeout, unable to resolve address, etc) and make separate except statement for each one of them - this way you'll be able to react differently for different kind of problems.

Set NOW() as Default Value for datetime datatype?

As of MySQL 5.6.5, you can use the DATETIME type with a dynamic default value:

CREATE TABLE foo (
    creation_time      DATETIME DEFAULT   CURRENT_TIMESTAMP,
    modification_time  DATETIME ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
)

Or even combine both rules:

modification_time DATETIME DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP

Reference:
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.7/en/timestamp-initialization.html
http://optimize-this.blogspot.com/2012/04/datetime-default-now-finally-available.html

Prior to 5.6.5, you need to use the TIMESTAMP data type, which automatically updates whenever the record is modified. Unfortunately, however, only one auto-updated TIMESTAMP field can exist per table.

CREATE TABLE mytable (
  mydate TIMESTAMP
)

See: http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/create-table.html

If you want to prevent MySQL from updating the timestamp value on UPDATE (so that it only triggers on INSERT) you can change the definition to:

CREATE TABLE mytable (
  mydate TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
)

How do I view the list of functions a Linux shared library is exporting?

What you need is nm and its -D option:

$ nm -D /usr/lib/libopenal.so.1
.
.
.
00012ea0 T alcSetThreadContext
000140f0 T alcSuspendContext
         U atanf
         U calloc
.

.

Exported sumbols are indicated by a T. Required symbols that must be loaded from other shared objects have a U. Note that the symbol table does not include just functions, but exported variables as well.

See the nm manual page for more information.

Python 3 TypeError: must be str, not bytes with sys.stdout.write()

Python 3 handles strings a bit different. Originally there was just one type for strings: str. When unicode gained traction in the '90s the new unicode type was added to handle Unicode without breaking pre-existing code1. This is effectively the same as str but with multibyte support.

In Python 3 there are two different types:

  • The bytes type. This is just a sequence of bytes, Python doesn't know anything about how to interpret this as characters.
  • The str type. This is also a sequence of bytes, but Python knows how to interpret those bytes as characters.
  • The separate unicode type was dropped. str now supports unicode.

In Python 2 implicitly assuming an encoding could cause a lot of problems; you could end up using the wrong encoding, or the data may not have an encoding at all (e.g. it’s a PNG image).
Explicitly telling Python which encoding to use (or explicitly telling it to guess) is often a lot better and much more in line with the "Python philosophy" of "explicit is better than implicit".

This change is incompatible with Python 2 as many return values have changed, leading to subtle problems like this one; it's probably the main reason why Python 3 adoption has been so slow. Since Python doesn't have static typing2 it's impossible to change this automatically with a script (such as the bundled 2to3).

  • You can convert str to bytes with bytes('h€llo', 'utf-8'); this should produce b'H\xe2\x82\xacllo'. Note how one character was converted to three bytes.
  • You can convert bytes to str with b'H\xe2\x82\xacllo'.decode('utf-8').

Of course, UTF-8 may not be the correct character set in your case, so be sure to use the correct one.

In your specific piece of code, nextline is of type bytes, not str, reading stdout and stdin from subprocess changed in Python 3 from str to bytes. This is because Python can't be sure which encoding this uses. It probably uses the same as sys.stdin.encoding (the encoding of your system), but it can't be sure.

You need to replace:

sys.stdout.write(nextline)

with:

sys.stdout.write(nextline.decode('utf-8'))

or maybe:

sys.stdout.write(nextline.decode(sys.stdout.encoding))

You will also need to modify if nextline == '' to if nextline == b'' since:

>>> '' == b''
False

Also see the Python 3 ChangeLog, PEP 358, and PEP 3112.

1 There are some neat tricks you can do with ASCII that you can't do with multibyte character sets; the most famous example is the "xor with space to switch case" (e.g. chr(ord('a') ^ ord(' ')) == 'A') and "set 6th bit to make a control character" (e.g. ord('\t') + ord('@') == ord('I')). ASCII was designed in a time when manipulating individual bits was an operation with a non-negligible performance impact.

2 Yes, you can use function annotations, but it's a comparatively new feature and little used.

Error :Request header field Content-Type is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Headers

It is most likely due to a cross-origin request, but it may not be. For me, I had been debugging an API and had set the Access-Control-Allow-Origin to *, but it appears that recent versions of Chrome are requiring an extra header. Try prepending the following to your file if you are using PHP:

header("Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *");
header("Access-Control-Allow-Headers: Origin, X-Requested-With, Content-Type, Accept");

Make sure that you haven't already used header in another file, or you will get a nasty error. See the docs for more.

Password masking console application

I have updated Ronnie's version after spending way too much time trying to enter a password only to find out that I had my CAPS LOCK on!

With this version what ever the message is in _CapsLockMessage will "float" at the end of the typing area and will be displayed in red.

This version takes a bit more code and does require a polling loop. On my computer CPU usage about 3% to 4%, but one could always add a small Sleep() value to decrease CPU usage if needed.

How can I refresh a page with jQuery?

To reload a page with jQuery, do:

$.ajax({
    url: "",
    context: document.body,
    success: function(s,x){
        $(this).html(s);
    }
});

The approach here that I used was Ajax jQuery. I tested it on Chrome 13. Then I put the code in the handler that will trigger the reload. The URL is "", which means this page.

Git fails when pushing commit to github

The Problem to push mostly is because of the size of the files that need to be pushed. I was trying to push some libraries of just size 2 mb, then too the push was giving error of RPC with result 7. The line is of 4 mbps and is working fine. Some subsequent tries to the push got me success. If such error comes, wait for few minutes and keep on trying.

I also found out that there are some RPC failures if the github is down or is getting unstable network at their side.

So keeping up trying after some intervals is the only option!

How to generate random float number in C

Try:

float x = (float)rand()/(float)(RAND_MAX/a);

To understand how this works consider the following.

N = a random value in [0..RAND_MAX] inclusively.

The above equation (removing the casts for clarity) becomes:

N/(RAND_MAX/a)

But division by a fraction is the equivalent to multiplying by said fraction's reciprocal, so this is equivalent to:

N * (a/RAND_MAX)

which can be rewritten as:

a * (N/RAND_MAX)

Considering N/RAND_MAX is always a floating point value between 0.0 and 1.0, this will generate a value between 0.0 and a.

Alternatively, you can use the following, which effectively does the breakdown I showed above. I actually prefer this simply because it is clearer what is actually going on (to me, anyway):

float x = ((float)rand()/(float)(RAND_MAX)) * a;

Note: the floating point representation of a must be exact or this will never hit your absolute edge case of a (it will get close). See this article for the gritty details about why.

Sample

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <time.h>

int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
    srand((unsigned int)time(NULL));

    float a = 5.0;
    for (int i=0;i<20;i++)
        printf("%f\n", ((float)rand()/(float)(RAND_MAX)) * a);
    return 0;
}

What is meant with "const" at end of function declaration?

Function can't change its parameters via the pointer/reference you gave it.

I go to this page every time I need to think about it:

I believe there's also a good chapter in Meyers' "More Effective C++".

Refreshing page on click of a button

There are several ways to reload the current page using a button or other trigger. The examples below use a button click to reload the page but you can use a text hyperlink or any trigger you like.

<input type="button" value="Reload Page" onClick="window.location.reload()">

<input type="button" value="Reload Page" onClick="history.go(0)">

<input type="button" value="Reload Page" onClick="window.location.href=window.location.href">

"git rebase origin" vs."git rebase origin/master"

You can make a new file under [.git\refs\remotes\origin] with name "HEAD" and put content "ref: refs/remotes/origin/master" to it. This should solve your problem.

It seems that clone from an empty repos will lead to this. Maybe the empty repos do not have HEAD because no commit object exist.

You can use the

git log --remotes --branches --oneline --decorate

to see the difference between each repository, while the "problem" one do not have "origin/HEAD"

Edit: Give a way using command line
You can also use git command line to do this, they have the same result

git symbolic-ref refs/remotes/origin/HEAD refs/remotes/origin/master

google chrome extension :: console.log() from background page?

To answer your question directly, when you call console.log("something") from the background, this message is logged, to the background page's console. To view it, you may go to chrome://extensions/ and click on that inspect view under your extension.

When you click the popup, it's loaded into the current page, thus the console.log should show log message in the current page.

How to subtract n days from current date in java?

As @Houcem Berrayana say

If you would like to use n>24 then you can use the code like:

Date dateBefore = new Date((d.getTime() - n * 24 * 3600 * 1000) - n * 24 * 3600 * 1000);

Suppose you want to find last 30 days date, then you'd use:

Date dateBefore = new Date((d.getTime() - 24 * 24 * 3600 * 1000) - 6 * 24 * 3600 * 1000);

Hibernate: best practice to pull all lazy collections

Use Hibernate.initialize() within @Transactional to initialize lazy objects.

 start Transaction
      Hibernate.initialize(entity.getAddresses());
      Hibernate.initialize(entity.getPersons());
 end Transaction

Now out side of the Transaction you are able to get lazy objects.

entity.getAddresses().size();
entity.getPersons().size();

Transitions on the CSS display property

This solution has excellent compatibility, and I haven't seen it yet:

.hidden-element {
  position: absolute;
  z-index: -1;
  pointer-events: none;
  visibility: hidden;
  opacity: 0;
  transition: visibility 0s, opacity .5s ease-out;
}

.hidden-element.visible {
  position: static;
  z-index: auto;
  pointer-events: auto;
  visibility: visible;
  opacity: 1;
}

Explanation: it uses the visibility: hidden trick (which is compatible with “show-and-animate” in one step), but it uses the combination position: absolute; z-index: -1; pointer-events: none; to make sure that the hidden container does not take space and does not answer to user interactions.

text-align:center won't work with form <label> tag (?)

label is an inline element so its width is equal to the width of the text it contains. The browser is actually displaying the label with text-align:center but since the label is only as wide as the text you don't notice.

The best thing to do is to apply a specific width to the label that is greater than the width of the content - this will give you the results you want.

GC overhead limit exceeded

From Java SE 6 HotSpot[tm] Virtual Machine Garbage Collection Tuning

the following

Excessive GC Time and OutOfMemoryError

The concurrent collector will throw an OutOfMemoryError if too much time is being spent in garbage collection: if more than 98% of the total time is spent in garbage collection and less than 2% of the heap is recovered, an OutOfMemoryError will be thrown. This feature is designed to prevent applications from running for an extended period of time while making little or no progress because the heap is too small. If necessary, this feature can be disabled by adding the option -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit to the command line.

The policy is the same as that in the parallel collector, except that time spent performing concurrent collections is not counted toward the 98% time limit. In other words, only collections performed while the application is stopped count toward excessive GC time. Such collections are typically due to a concurrent mode failure or an explicit collection request (e.g., a call to System.gc()).

in conjunction with a passage further down

One of the most commonly encountered uses of explicit garbage collection occurs with RMIs distributed garbage collection (DGC). Applications using RMI refer to objects in other virtual machines. Garbage cannot be collected in these distributed applications without occasionally collection the local heap, so RMI forces full collections periodically. The frequency of these collections can be controlled with properties. For example,

java -Dsun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=3600000

-Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=3600000 specifies explicit collection once per hour instead of the default rate of once per minute. However, this may also cause some objects to take much longer to be reclaimed. These properties can be set as high as Long.MAX_VALUE to make the time between explicit collections effectively infinite, if there is no desire for an upper bound on the timeliness of DGC activity.

Seems to imply that the evaluation period for determining the 98% is one minute long, but it might be configurable on Sun's JVM with the correct define.

Of course, other interpretations are possible.

Is there a 'foreach' function in Python 3?

The correct answer is "python collections do not have a foreach". In native python we need to resort to the external for _element_ in _collection_ syntax which is not what the OP is after.

Python is in general quite weak for functionals programming. There are a few libraries to mitigate a bit. I helped author one of these infixpy https://pypi.org/project/infixpy/

from infixpy import Seq
(Seq([1,2,3]).foreach(lambda x: print(x)))
1
2
3

How can I delete Docker's images?

Possible reason: The reason can be that this image is currently used by a running container. In such case, you can list running containers, stop the relevant container and then remove the image:

docker ps
docker stop <containerid>
docker rm <containerid>
docker rmi <imageid>

If you cannnot find container by docker ps, you can use this to list all already exited containers and remove them.

docker ps -a | grep 60afe4036d97
docker rm <containerid>

Note: Be careful of deleting all exited containers at once in case you use Volume-Only containers. These stay in Exit state, but contains useful data.

NodeJS / Express: what is "app.use"?

What does a Status of "Suspended" and high DiskIO means from sp_who2?

This is a very broad question, so I am going to give a broad answer.

  1. A query gets suspended when it is requesting access to a resource that is currently not available. This can be a logical resource like a locked row or a physical resource like a memory data page. The query starts running again, once the resource becomes available.
  2. High disk IO means that a lot of data pages need to be accessed to fulfill the request.

That is all that I can tell from the above screenshot. However, if I were to speculate, you probably have an IO subsystem that is too slow to keep up with the demand. This could be caused by missing indexes or an actually too slow disk. Keep in mind, that 15000 reads for a single OLTP query is slightly high but not uncommon.

jquery - return value using ajax result on success

Add async: false to your attributes list. This forces the javascript thread to wait until the return value is retrieved before moving on. Obviously, you wouldn't want to do this in every circumstance, but if a value is needed before proceeding, this will do it.

First char to upper case

Regular Expressions (abbreviated "regex" or "reg-ex") is a string that defines a search pattern.

What replaceFirst() does is it uses the regular expression provided in the parameters and replaces the first result from the search with whatever you pass in as the other parameter.

What you want to do is convert the string to an array using the String class' charAt() method, and then use Character.toUpperCase() to change the character to upper case (obviously). Your code would look like this:

char first = Character.toUpperCase(userIdea.charAt(0));
betterIdea = first + userIdea.substring(1);

Or, if you feel comfortable with more complex, one-lined java code:

betterIdea = Character.toUpperCase(userIdea.charAt(0)) + userIdea.substring(1);

Both of these do the same thing, which is converting the first character of userIdea to an upper case character.

How can I echo the whole content of a .html file in PHP?

    return;

if redirecting,

    response.sendRedirect(roundTripURI);
    return;

random.seed(): What does it do?

random.seed(a, version) in python is used to initialize the pseudo-random number generator (PRNG).

PRNG is algorithm that generates sequence of numbers approximating the properties of random numbers. These random numbers can be reproduced using the seed value. So, if you provide seed value, PRNG starts from an arbitrary starting state using a seed.

Argument a is the seed value. If the a value is None, then by default, current system time is used.

and version is An integer specifying how to convert the a parameter into a integer. Default value is 2.

import random
random.seed(9001)
random.randint(1, 10) #this gives output of 1
# 1

If you want the same random number to be reproduced then provide the same seed again

random.seed(9001)
random.randint(1, 10) # this will give the same output of 1
# 1

If you don't provide the seed, then it generate different number and not 1 as before

random.randint(1, 10) # this gives 7 without providing seed
# 7

If you provide different seed than before, then it will give you a different random number

random.seed(9002)
random.randint(1, 10) # this gives you 5 not 1
# 5

So, in summary, if you want the same random number to be reproduced, provide the seed. Specifically, the same seed.

jQuery selectors on custom data attributes using HTML5

jsFiddle Demo

jQuery provides several selectors (full list) in order to make the queries you are looking for work. To address your question "In other cases is it possible to use other selectors like "contains, less than, greater than, etc..."." you can also use contains, starts with, and ends with to look at these html5 data attributes. See the full list above in order to see all of your options.

The basic querying has been covered above, and using John Hartsock's answer is going to be the best bet to either get every data-company element, or to get every one except Microsoft (or any other version of :not).

In order to expand this to the other points you are looking for, we can use several meta selectors. First, if you are going to do multiple queries, it is nice to cache the parent selection.

var group = $('ul[data-group="Companies"]');

Next, we can look for companies in this set who start with G

var google = $('[data-company^="G"]',group);//google

Or perhaps companies which contain the word soft

var microsoft = $('[data-company*="soft"]',group);//microsoft

It is also possible to get elements whose data attribute's ending matches

var facebook = $('[data-company$="book"]',group);//facebook

Add new value to an existing array in JavaScript

Array is a JavaScript native object, why don't you just try to use the API of it? Knowing API on its own will save you time when you will switch to pure JavaScript or another framework.

There are number of different possibilities, so, use the one which mostly targets your needs.

Creating array with values:

var array = ["value1", "value2", "value3"];

Adding values to the end

var array = [];
array.push("value1");
array.push("value2");
array.push("value3");

Adding values to the begin:

var array = [];
array.unshift("value1");
array.unshift("value2");
array.unshift("value3");

Adding values at some index:

var array = [];
array[index] = "value1";

or by using splice

array.splice(index, 0, "value1", "value2", "value3");

Choose one you need.

Adding a new entry to the PATH variable in ZSH

Here, add this line to .zshrc:

export PATH=/home/david/pear/bin:$PATH

EDIT: This does work, but ony's answer below is better, as it takes advantage of the structured interface ZSH provides for variables like $PATH. This approach is standard for bash, but as far as I know, there is no reason to use it when ZSH provides better alternatives.

When using SASS how can I import a file from a different directory?

To define the file to import it's possible to use all folders common definitions. You just have to be aware that it's relative to file you are defining it. More about import option with examples you can check here.

How may I align text to the left and text to the right in the same line?

Creating stored procedure with declare and set variables

You should try this syntax - assuming you want to have @OrderID as a parameter for your stored procedure:

CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.YourStoredProcNameHere
   @OrderID INT
AS
BEGIN
 DECLARE @OrderItemID AS INT
 DECLARE @AppointmentID AS INT
 DECLARE @PurchaseOrderID AS INT
 DECLARE @PurchaseOrderItemID AS INT
 DECLARE @SalesOrderID AS INT
 DECLARE @SalesOrderItemID AS INT

 SELECT @OrderItemID = OrderItemID
 FROM [OrderItem]
 WHERE OrderID = @OrderID

 SELECT @AppointmentID = AppoinmentID
 FROM [Appointment]
 WHERE OrderID = @OrderID

 SELECT @PurchaseOrderID = PurchaseOrderID
 FROM [PurchaseOrder]
 WHERE OrderID = @OrderID

END

OF course, that only works if you're returning exactly one value (not multiple values!)

What does the variable $this mean in PHP?

It is the way to reference an instance of a class from within itself, the same as many other object oriented languages.

From the PHP docs:

The pseudo-variable $this is available when a method is called from within an object context. $this is a reference to the calling object (usually the object to which the method belongs, but possibly another object, if the method is called statically from the context of a secondary object).

Combining node.js and Python

This sounds like a scenario where zeroMQ would be a good fit. It's a messaging framework that's similar to using TCP or Unix sockets, but it's much more robust (http://zguide.zeromq.org/py:all)

There's a library that uses zeroMQ to provide a RPC framework that works pretty well. It's called zeroRPC (http://www.zerorpc.io/). Here's the hello world.

Python "Hello x" server:

import zerorpc

class HelloRPC(object):
    '''pass the method a name, it replies "Hello name!"'''
    def hello(self, name):
        return "Hello, {0}!".format(name)

def main():
    s = zerorpc.Server(HelloRPC())
    s.bind("tcp://*:4242")
    s.run()

if __name__ == "__main__" : main()

And the node.js client:

var zerorpc = require("zerorpc");

var client = new zerorpc.Client();
client.connect("tcp://127.0.0.1:4242");
//calls the method on the python object
client.invoke("hello", "World", function(error, reply, streaming) {
    if(error){
        console.log("ERROR: ", error);
    }
    console.log(reply);
});

Or vice-versa, node.js server:

var zerorpc = require("zerorpc");

var server = new zerorpc.Server({
    hello: function(name, reply) {
        reply(null, "Hello, " + name, false);
    }
});

server.bind("tcp://0.0.0.0:4242");

And the python client

import zerorpc, sys

c = zerorpc.Client()
c.connect("tcp://127.0.0.1:4242")
name = sys.argv[1] if len(sys.argv) > 1 else "dude"
print c.hello(name)

"Error: Main method not found in class MyClass, please define the main method as..."

The name of the exception suggests that the program tried to call a method that doesn't exist. In this context, it sounds like the program does not have a main method, though it would help if you posted the code that caused the error and the context in which the code was run.

This might have happened if the user tried to run a .class file or a .jar file that has no main method - in Java, the main method is the entry point to begin executing the program.

Normally the compiler is supposed to prevent this from happening so if this does happen, it's usually because the name of the method being called is getting determined ar run-time, rather than compile-time.

To fix this problem, a new programmer must either add the midding method (assuming still that it's main that's missing) or change the method call to the name of a method that does exist.

Read more about the main method here: http://csis.pace.edu/~bergin/KarelJava2ed/ch2/javamain.html

How to find files recursively by file type and copy them to a directory while in ssh?

Something like this should work.

ssh [email protected] 'find -type f -name "*.pdf" -exec cp {} ./pdfsfolder \;'

react button onClick redirect page

A very simple way to do this is by the following:

onClick={this.fun.bind(this)}

and for the function:

fun() {
  this.props.history.push("/Home");
}

finlay you need to import withRouter:

import { withRouter } from 'react-router-dom';

and export it as:

export default withRouter (comp_name);

What do >> and << mean in Python?

I think it is important question and it is not answered yet (the OP seems to already know about shift operators). Let me try to answer, the >> operator in your example is used for two different purposes. In c++ terms this operator is overloaded. In the first example it is used as bitwise operator (left shift), while in the second scenario it is merely used as output redirection. i.e.

2 << 5 # shift to left by 5 bits
2 >> 5 # shift to right by 5 bits
print >> obj, "Hello world" # redirect the output to obj,

example

with open('foo.txt', 'w') as obj:
    print >> obj, "Hello world" # hello world now saved in foo.txt

update:

In python 3 it is possible to give the file argument directly as follows:

print("Hello world", file=open("foo.txt", "a")) # hello world now saved in foo.txt

Fatal error: Call to a member function query() on null

put this line in parent construct : $this->load->database();

function  __construct() {
    parent::__construct();
    $this->load->library('lib_name');
    $model=array('model_name');
    $this->load->model($model);
    $this->load->database();
}

this way.. it should work..

How do I search for a pattern within a text file using Python combining regex & string/file operations and store instances of the pattern?

import re
pattern = re.compile("<(\d{4,5})>")

for i, line in enumerate(open('test.txt')):
    for match in re.finditer(pattern, line):
        print 'Found on line %s: %s' % (i+1, match.group())

A couple of notes about the regex:

  • You don't need the ? at the end and the outer (...) if you don't want to match the number with the angle brackets, but only want the number itself
  • It matches either 4 or 5 digits between the angle brackets

Update: It's important to understand that the match and capture in a regex can be quite different. The regex in my snippet above matches the pattern with angle brackets, but I ask to capture only the internal number, without the angle brackets.

More about regex in python can be found here : Regular Expression HOWTO

How to decode a QR-code image in (preferably pure) Python?

The following code works fine with me:

brew install zbar
pip install pyqrcode
pip install pyzbar

For QR code image creation:

import pyqrcode
qr = pyqrcode.create("test1")
qr.png("test1.png", scale=6)

For QR code decoding:

from PIL import Image
from pyzbar.pyzbar import decode
data = decode(Image.open('test1.png'))
print(data)

that prints the result:

[Decoded(data=b'test1', type='QRCODE', rect=Rect(left=24, top=24, width=126, height=126), polygon=[Point(x=24, y=24), Point(x=24, y=150), Point(x=150, y=150), Point(x=150, y=24)])]

Bootstrap onClick button event

There is no show event in js - you need to bind your button either to the click event:

$('#id').on('click', function (e) {

     //your awesome code here

})

Mind that if your button is inside a form, you may prefer to bind the whole form to the submit event.

Find index of last occurrence of a sub-string using T-SQL

You are limited to small list of functions for text data type.

All I can suggest is start with PATINDEX, but work backwards from DATALENGTH-1, DATALENGTH-2, DATALENGTH-3 etc until you get a result or end up at zero (DATALENGTH-DATALENGTH)

This really is something that SQL Server 2000 simply can't handle.

Edit for other answers : REVERSE is not on the list of functions that can be used with text data in SQL Server 2000

How do I include inline JavaScript in Haml?

You can actually do what Chris Chalmers does in his answer, but you must make sure that HAML doesn't parse the JavaScript. This approach is actually useful when you need to use a different type than text/javascript, which is was I needed to do for MathJax.

You can use the plain filter to keep HAML from parsing the script and throwing an illegal nesting error:

%script{type: "text/x-mathjax-config"}
  :plain
    MathJax.Hub.Config({
      tex2jax: {
        inlineMath: [["$","$"],["\\(","\\)"]]
      }
    });

What's the difference between "Write-Host", "Write-Output", or "[console]::WriteLine"?

From my testing Write-Output and [Console]::WriteLine() perform much better than Write-Host.

Depending on how much text you need to write out this may be important.

Below if the result of 5 tests each for Write-Host, Write-Output and [Console]::WriteLine().

In my limited experience, I've found when working with any sort of real world data I need to abandon the cmdlets and go straight for the lower level commands to get any decent performance out of my scripts.

Observable Finally on Subscribe

The current "pipable" variant of this operator is called finalize() (since RxJS 6). The older and now deprecated "patch" operator was called finally() (until RxJS 5.5).

I think finalize() operator is actually correct. You say:

do that logic only when I subscribe, and after the stream has ended

which is not a problem I think. You can have a single source and use finalize() before subscribing to it if you want. This way you're not required to always use finalize():

let source = new Observable(observer => {
  observer.next(1);
  observer.error('error message');
  observer.next(3);
  observer.complete();
}).pipe(
  publish(),
);

source.pipe(
  finalize(() => console.log('Finally callback')),
).subscribe(
  value => console.log('#1 Next:', value),
  error => console.log('#1 Error:', error),
  () => console.log('#1 Complete')
);

source.subscribe(
  value => console.log('#2 Next:', value),
  error => console.log('#2 Error:', error),
  () => console.log('#2 Complete')
);

source.connect();

This prints to console:

#1 Next: 1
#2 Next: 1
#1 Error: error message
Finally callback
#2 Error: error message

What is a web service endpoint?

In past projects I worked on, the endpoint was a relative property. That is to say it may or may not have been appended to, but it always contained the protocol://host:port/partOfThePath.

If the service being called had a dynamic part to it, for example a ?param=dynamicValue, then that part would get added to the endpoint. But many times the endpoint could be used as is without having to be amended.

Whats important to understand is what an endpoint is not and how it helps. For example an alternative way to pass the information stored in an endpoint would be to store the different parts of the endpoint in separate properties. For example:

hostForServiceA=someIp
portForServiceA=8080
pathForServiceA=/some/service/path
hostForServiceB=someIp
portForServiceB=8080
pathForServiceB=/some/service/path

Or if the same host and port across multiple services:

host=someIp
port=8080
pathForServiceA=/some/service/path
pathForServiceB=/some/service/path

In those cases the full URL would need to be constructed in your code as such:

String url = "http://" + host + ":" + port + pathForServiceA  + "?" + dynamicParam + "=" + dynamicValue;

In contract this can be stored as an endpoint as such

serviceAEndpoint=http://host:port/some/service/path?dynamicParam=

And yes many times we stored the endpoint up to and including the '='. This lead to code like this:

String url = serviceAEndpoint + dynamicValue;

Hope that sheds some light.

add allow_url_fopen to my php.ini using .htaccess

Try this, but I don't think it will work because you're not supposed to be able to change this

Put this line in an htaccess file in the directory you want the setting to be enabled:

php_value allow_url_fopen On

Note that this setting will only apply to PHP file's in the same directory as the htaccess file.

As an alternative to using url_fopen, try using curl.

What is the difference between "#!/usr/bin/env bash" and "#!/usr/bin/bash"?

Running a command through /usr/bin/env has the benefit of looking for whatever the default version of the program is in your current environment.

This way, you don't have to look for it in a specific place on the system, as those paths may be in different locations on different systems. As long as it's in your path, it will find it.

One downside is that you will be unable to pass more than one argument (e.g. you will be unable to write /usr/bin/env awk -f) if you wish to support Linux, as POSIX is vague on how the line is to be interpreted, and Linux interprets everything after the first space to denote a single argument. You can use /usr/bin/env -S on some versions of env to get around this, but then the script will become even less portable and break on fairly recent systems (e.g. even Ubuntu 16.04 if not later).

Another downside is that since you aren't calling an explicit executable, it's got the potential for mistakes, and on multiuser systems security problems (if someone managed to get their executable called bash in your path, for example).

#!/usr/bin/env bash #lends you some flexibility on different systems
#!/usr/bin/bash #gives you explicit control on a given system of what executable is called

In some situations, the first may be preferred (like running python scripts with multiple versions of python, without having to rework the executable line). But in situations where security is the focus, the latter would be preferred, as it limits code injection possibilities.

What's the difference between getRequestURI and getPathInfo methods in HttpServletRequest?

Consider the following servlet conf:

   <servlet>
        <servlet-name>NewServlet</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>NewServlet</servlet-class>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>NewServlet</servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>/NewServlet/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>

Now, when I hit the URL http://localhost:8084/JSPTemp1/NewServlet/jhi, it will invoke NewServlet as it is mapped with the pattern described above.

Here:

getRequestURI() =  /JSPTemp1/NewServlet/jhi
getPathInfo() = /jhi

We have those ones:

  • getPathInfo()

    returns
    a String, decoded by the web container, specifying extra path information that comes after the servlet path but before the query string in the request URL; or null if the URL does not have any extra path information

  • getRequestURI()

    returns
    a String containing the part of the URL from the protocol name up to the query string

how to move elasticsearch data from one server to another

The selected answer makes it sound slightly more complex than it is, the following is what you need (install npm first on your system).

npm install -g elasticdump
elasticdump --input=http://mysrc.com:9200/my_index --output=http://mydest.com:9200/my_index --type=mapping
elasticdump --input=http://mysrc.com:9200/my_index --output=http://mydest.com:9200/my_index --type=data

You can skip the first elasticdump command for subsequent copies if the mappings remain constant.

I have just done a migration from AWS to Qbox.io with the above without any problems.

More details over at:

https://www.npmjs.com/package/elasticdump

Help page (as of Feb 2016) included for completeness:

elasticdump: Import and export tools for elasticsearch

--input
                    Source location (required)
--input-index
                    Source index and type
                    (default: all, example: index/type)

--searchBody
                    Preform a partial extract based on search results
                    (when ES is the input,
                    (default: '{"query": { "match_all": {} } }'))
--sourceOnly
                    Output only the json contained within the document _source
                    Normal: {"_index":"","_type":"","_id":"", "_source":{SOURCE}}
                    sourceOnly: {SOURCE}

                    Will continue the read/write loop on write error
                    (default: false)
--scrollTime
                    Time the nodes will hold the requested search in order.
                    (default: 10m)
--maxSockets
                    How many simultaneous HTTP requests can we process make?
                    (default:
                      5 [node <= v0.10.x] /
                      Infinity [node >= v0.11.x] )
--bulk-mode
                    The mode can be index, delete or update.
                    'index': Add or replace documents on the destination index.
                    'delete': Delete documents on destination index.
                    'update': Use 'doc_as_upsert' option with bulk update API to do partial update.
                    (default: index)
--bulk-use-output-index-name
                    Force use of destination index name (the actual output URL)
                    as destination while bulk writing to ES. Allows
                    leveraging Bulk API copying data inside the same
                    elasticsearch instance.
                    (default: false)
--timeout
                    Integer containing the number of milliseconds to wait for
                    a request to respond before aborting the request. Passed
                    directly to the request library. If used in bulk writing,
                    it will result in the entire batch not being written.
                    Mostly used when you don't care too much if you lose some
                    data when importing but rather have speed.
--skip
                    Integer containing the number of rows you wish to skip
                    ahead from the input transport. When importing a large
                    index, things can go wrong, be it connectivity, crashes,
                    someone forgetting to `screen`, etc. This allows you
                    to start the dump again from the last known line written
                    (as logged by the `offset` in the output). Please be
                    advised that since no sorting is specified when the
                    dump is initially created, there's no real way to
                    guarantee that the skipped rows have already been
                    written/parsed. This is more of an option for when
                    you want to get most data as possible in the index
                    without concern for losing some rows in the process,
                    similar to the `timeout` option.
--inputTransport
                    Provide a custom js file to us as the input transport
--outputTransport
                    Provide a custom js file to us as the output transport
--toLog
                    When using a custom outputTransport, should log lines
                    be appended to the output stream?
                    (default: true, except for `$`)

Compile to stand alone exe for C# app in Visual Studio 2010

You just compile it. In the bin\Release (or bin\Debug) folder, the .exe will be in there.

If you're asking how to make an executable which does not rely on the .NET framework at all, then that's a lot harder and you'll need to purchase something like RemoteSoft's Salamader. In general, it's not really worth the bother: Windows Vista comes with .NET framework 2.0 pre-installed already so if you're worried about that, you can just target the 2.0 framework (then only XP users would have to install the framework).

How do you concatenate Lists in C#?

Concat returns a new sequence without modifying the original list. Try myList1.AddRange(myList2).

Difference between "read commited" and "repeatable read"

Trying to explain this doubt with simple diagrams.

Read Committed: Here in this isolation level, Transaction T1 will be reading the updated value of the X committed by Transaction T2.

Read Committed

Repeatable Read: In this isolation level, Transaction T1 will not consider the changes committed by the Transaction T2.

Should image size be defined in the img tag height/width attributes or in CSS?

I'm using contentEditable to allow rich text editing in my app. I don't know how it slips through, but when an image is inserted, and then resized (by dragging the anchors on its side), it generates something like this:

  <img style="width:55px;height:55px" width="100" height="100" src="pic.gif" border=0/>

(subsequent testing shown that inserted images did not contain this "rogue" style attr+param).

When rendered by the browser (IE7), the width and height in the style overrides the img width/height param (so the image is shown like how I wanted it.. resized to 55px x 55px. So everything went well so it seems.

When I output the page to a ms-word document via setting the mime type application/msword or pasting the browser rendering to msword document, all the images reverted back to its default size. I finally found out that msword is discarding the style and using the img width and height tag (which has the value of the original image size).

Took me a while to found this out. Anyway... I've coded a javascript function to traverse all tags and "transferring" the img style.width and style.height values into the img.width and img.height, then clearing both the values in style, before I proceed saving this piece of html/richtext data into the database.

cheers.

opps.. my answer is.. no. leave both attributes directly under img, rather than style.

PostgreSQL column 'foo' does not exist

I also ran into this error when I was using Dapper and forgot to input a parameterized value.

To fix I had to ensure that the object passed in as a parameter had properties matching the parameterised values in the SQL string.

PHP unable to load php_curl.dll extension

Add your php folder path to the System PATH and everything should work fine. It will also fix some other extensions that are broken.

How to load a resource bundle from a file resource in Java?

From the JavaDocs for ResourceBundle.getBundle(String baseName):

baseName - the base name of the resource bundle, a fully qualified class name

What this means in plain English is that the resource bundle must be on the classpath and that baseName should be the package containing the bundle plus the bundle name, mybundle in your case.

Leave off the extension and any locale that forms part of the bundle name, the JVM will sort that for you according to default locale - see the docs on java.util.ResourceBundle for more info.

Propagate all arguments in a bash shell script

My SUN Unix has a lot of limitations, even "$@" was not interpreted as desired. My workaround is ${@}. For example,

find ./ -type f | xargs grep "${@}"

By the way, I had to have this particular script because my Unix also does not support grep -r

Why is ZoneOffset.UTC != ZoneId.of("UTC")?

The answer comes from the javadoc of ZoneId (emphasis mine) ...

A ZoneId is used to identify the rules used to convert between an Instant and a LocalDateTime. There are two distinct types of ID:

  • Fixed offsets - a fully resolved offset from UTC/Greenwich, that uses the same offset for all local date-times
  • Geographical regions - an area where a specific set of rules for finding the offset from UTC/Greenwich apply

Most fixed offsets are represented by ZoneOffset. Calling normalized() on any ZoneId will ensure that a fixed offset ID will be represented as a ZoneOffset.

... and from the javadoc of ZoneId#of (emphasis mine):

This method parses the ID producing a ZoneId or ZoneOffset. A ZoneOffset is returned if the ID is 'Z', or starts with '+' or '-'.

The argument id is specified as "UTC", therefore it will return a ZoneId with an offset, which also presented in the string form:

System.out.println(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneOffset.UTC));
System.out.println(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("UTC")));

Outputs:

2017-03-10T08:06:28.045Z
2017-03-10T08:06:28.045Z[UTC]

As you use the equals method for comparison, you check for object equivalence. Because of the described difference, the result of the evaluation is false.

When the normalized() method is used as proposed in the documentation, the comparison using equals will return true, as normalized() will return the corresponding ZoneOffset:

Normalizes the time-zone ID, returning a ZoneOffset where possible.

now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneOffset.UTC)
    .equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("UTC").normalized())); // true

As the documentation states, if you use "Z" or "+0" as input id, of will return the ZoneOffset directly and there is no need to call normalized():

now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneOffset.UTC).equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("Z"))); //true
now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneOffset.UTC).equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("+0"))); //true

To check if they store the same date time, you can use the isEqual method instead:

now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneOffset.UTC)
    .isEqual(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("UTC"))); // true

Sample

System.out.println("equals - ZoneId.of(\"UTC\"): " + nowZoneOffset
        .equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("UTC"))));
System.out.println("equals - ZoneId.of(\"UTC\").normalized(): " + nowZoneOffset
        .equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("UTC").normalized())));
System.out.println("equals - ZoneId.of(\"Z\"): " + nowZoneOffset
        .equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("Z"))));
System.out.println("equals - ZoneId.of(\"+0\"): " + nowZoneOffset
        .equals(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("+0"))));
System.out.println("isEqual - ZoneId.of(\"UTC\"): "+ nowZoneOffset
        .isEqual(now.withZoneSameInstant(ZoneId.of("UTC"))));

Output:

equals - ZoneId.of("UTC"): false
equals - ZoneId.of("UTC").normalized(): true
equals - ZoneId.of("Z"): true
equals - ZoneId.of("+0"): true
isEqual - ZoneId.of("UTC"): true

How can I fill a column with random numbers in SQL? I get the same value in every row

Instead of rand(), use newid(), which is recalculated for each row in the result. The usual way is to use the modulo of the checksum. Note that checksum(newid()) can produce -2,147,483,648 and cause integer overflow on abs(), so we need to use modulo on the checksum return value before converting it to absolute value.

UPDATE CattleProds
SET    SheepTherapy = abs(checksum(NewId()) % 10000)
WHERE  SheepTherapy IS NULL

This generates a random number between 0 and 9999.

How to rollback everything to previous commit

I searched for multiple options to get my git reset to specific commit, but most of them aren't so satisfactory.

I generally use this to reset the git to the specific commit in source tree.

  1. select commit to reset on sourcetree.

  2. In dropdowns select the active branch , first Parent Only

  3. And right click on "Reset branch to this commit" and select hard reset option (soft, mixed and hard)

  4. and then go to terminal git push -f

You should be all set!

CSS Outside Border

Way late, but I just ran into a similar issue.
My solution was pseudo elements - no additional markup, and you get to draw the border without affecting the width.
Position the pseudo element absolutely (with the main positioned relatively) and whammo.

See below, JSFiddle here.

.hello {
    position: relative;
    /* Styling not important */
    background: black;
    color: white;
    padding: 20px;
    width: 200px;
    height: 200px;
}

.hello::before {
    content: "";
    position: absolute;
    display: block;
    top: 0;
    left: -5px;
    right: -5px;
    bottom: 0;
    border-left: 5px solid red;
    border-right: 5px solid red;
    z-index: -1;
}

How to get VM arguments from inside of Java application?

If you want the entire command line of your java process, you can use: JvmArguments.java (uses a combination of JNA + /proc to cover most unix implementations)

AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute

The problem is in your playerMovement method. You are creating the string name of your room variables (ID1, ID2, ID3):

letsago = "ID" + str(self.dirDesc.values())

However, what you create is just a str. It is not the variable. Plus, I do not think it is doing what you think its doing:

>>>str({'a':1}.values())
'dict_values([1])'

If you REALLY needed to find the variable this way, you could use the eval function:

>>>foo = 'Hello World!'
>>>eval('foo')
'Hello World!'

or the globals function:

class Foo(object):
    def __init__(self):
        super(Foo, self).__init__()
    def test(self, name):
        print(globals()[name])

foo = Foo()
bar = 'Hello World!'
foo.text('bar')

However, instead I would strongly recommend you rethink you class(es). Your userInterface class is essentially a Room. It shouldn't handle player movement. This should be within another class, maybe GameManager or something like that.

Is it better in C++ to pass by value or pass by constant reference?

As it has been pointed out, it depends on the type. For built-in data types, it is best to pass by value. Even some very small structures, such as a pair of ints can perform better by passing by value.

Here is an example, assume you have an integer value and you want pass it to another routine. If that value has been optimized to be stored in a register, then if you want to pass it be reference, it first must be stored in memory and then a pointer to that memory placed on the stack to perform the call. If it was being passed by value, all that is required is the register pushed onto the stack. (The details are a bit more complicated than that given different calling systems and CPUs).

If you are doing template programming, you are usually forced to always pass by const ref since you don't know the types being passed in. Passing penalties for passing something bad by value are much worse than the penalties of passing a built-in type by const ref.

How to get the input from the Tkinter Text Widget?

Here is how I did it with python 3.5.2:

from tkinter import *
root=Tk()
def retrieve_input():
    inputValue=textBox.get("1.0","end-1c")
    print(inputValue)

textBox=Text(root, height=2, width=10)
textBox.pack()
buttonCommit=Button(root, height=1, width=10, text="Commit",
                    command=lambda: retrieve_input())
#command=lambda: retrieve_input() >>> just means do this when i press the button
buttonCommit.pack()

mainloop()

with that, when i typed "blah blah" in the text widget and pressed the button, whatever i typed got printed out. So i think that is the answer for storing user input from Text widget to variable.

MySql difference between two timestamps in days?

If you want to return in full TIMESTAMP format than try it: -

 SELECT TIMEDIFF(`call_end_time`, `call_start_time`) as diff from tablename;

return like

     diff
     - - -
    00:05:15

Column calculated from another column?

If it is a selection, you can do it as:

SELECT id, value, (value/2) AS calculated FROM mytable

Else, you can also first alter the table to add the missing column and then do an UPDATE query to compute the values for the new column as:

UPDATE mytable SET calculated = value/2;

If it must be automatic, and your MySQL version allows it, you can try with triggers

Java Security: Illegal key size or default parameters?

Error message "unreported exception java.io.IOException; must be caught or declared to be thrown"

The error message means that any method that calls showfile() must either declare that it, in turn, throws IOException, or the call must be inside a try block that catches IOException. When you call showfile(), you do neither of these; for example, your filecontent constructor neither declares IOException nor contains a try block.

The intent is that some method, somewhere, should contain a try block, and catch and handle this exception. The compiler is trying to force you to handle the exception somewhere.

By the way, this code is (sorry to be so blunt) horrible. You don't close any of the files you open, the BufferedReader always points to the first file, even though you seem to be trying to make it point to another, the loops contain off-by-one errors that will cause various exceptions, etc. When you do get this to compile, it will not work as you expect. I think you need to slow down a little.

Remove table row after clicking table row delete button

you can do it like this:

<script>
    function SomeDeleteRowFunction(o) {
     //no clue what to put here?
     var p=o.parentNode.parentNode;
         p.parentNode.removeChild(p);
    }
    </script>

    <table>
       <tr>
           <td><input type="button" value="Delete Row" onclick="SomeDeleteRowFunction(this)"></td>
       </tr>
       <tr>
           <td><input type="button" value="Delete Row" onclick="SomeDeleteRowFunction(this)"></td>
       </tr>
       <tr>
           <td><input type="button" value="Delete Row" onclick="SomeDeleteRowFunction(this)"></td>
       </tr>
    </table>

What is the difference between MySQL, MySQLi and PDO?

mysqli is the enhanced version of mysql.

PDO extension defines a lightweight, consistent interface for accessing databases in PHP. Each database driver that implements the PDO interface can expose database-specific features as regular extension functions.

What is the difference between $routeProvider and $stateProvider?

$route: This is used for deep-linking URLs to controllers and views (HTML partials) and watches $location.url() in order to map the path from an existing definition of route.

When we use ngRoute, the route is configured with $routeProvider and when we use ui-router, the route is configured with $stateProvider and $urlRouterProvider.

<div ng-view></div>
    $routeProvider
        .when('/contact/', {
            templateUrl: 'app/views/core/contact/contact.html',
            controller: 'ContactCtrl'
        });

<div ui-view>
    <div ui-view='abc'></div>
    <div ui-view='abc'></div>
   </div>
    $stateProvider
        .state("contact", {
            url: "/contact/",
            templateUrl: '/app/Aisel/Contact/views/contact.html',
            controller: 'ContactCtrl'
        });

WebDriverException: unknown error: DevToolsActivePort file doesn't exist while trying to initiate Chrome Browser

Thumb rule

A common cause for Chrome to crash during startup is running Chrome as root user (administrator) on Linux. While it is possible to work around this issue by passing --no-sandbox flag when creating your WebDriver session, such a configuration is unsupported and highly discouraged. You need to configure your environment to run Chrome as a regular user instead.

This error message...

org.openqa.selenium.WebDriverException: unknown error: DevToolsActivePort file doesn't exist

...implies that the ChromeDriver was unable to initiate/spawn a new WebBrowser i.e. Chrome Browser session.

Your code trials and the versioning information of all the binaries would have given us some hint about what's going wrong.

However as per Add --disable-dev-shm-usage to default launch flags seems adding the argument --disable-dev-shm-usage will temporary solve the issue.

If you desire to initiate/span a new Chrome Browser session you can use the following solution:

System.setProperty("webdriver.chrome.driver", "C:\\path\\to\\chromedriver.exe");
ChromeOptions options = new ChromeOptions();
options.addArguments("start-maximized"); // open Browser in maximized mode
options.addArguments("disable-infobars"); // disabling infobars
options.addArguments("--disable-extensions"); // disabling extensions
options.addArguments("--disable-gpu"); // applicable to windows os only
options.addArguments("--disable-dev-shm-usage"); // overcome limited resource problems
options.addArguments("--no-sandbox"); // Bypass OS security model
WebDriver driver = new ChromeDriver(options);
driver.get("https://google.com");

disable-dev-shm-usage

As per base_switches.cc disable-dev-shm-usage seems to be valid only on Linux OS:

#if defined(OS_LINUX) && !defined(OS_CHROMEOS)
// The /dev/shm partition is too small in certain VM environments, causing
// Chrome to fail or crash (see http://crbug.com/715363). Use this flag to
// work-around this issue (a temporary directory will always be used to create
// anonymous shared memory files).
const char kDisableDevShmUsage[] = "disable-dev-shm-usage";
#endif

In the discussion Add an option to use /tmp instead of /dev/shm David mentions:

I think it would depend on how are /dev/shm and /tmp mounted. If they are both mounted as tmpfs I'm assuming there won't be any difference. if for some reason /tmp is not mapped as tmpfs (and I think is mapped as tmpfs by default by systemd), chrome shared memory management always maps files into memory when creating an anonymous shared files, so even in that case shouldn't be much difference. I guess you could force telemetry tests with the flag enabled and see how it goes.

As for why not use by default, it was a pushed back by the shared memory team, I guess it makes sense it should be useing /dev/shm for shared memory by default.

Ultimately all this should be moving to use memfd_create, but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon, since it will require refactoring Chrome memory management significantly.

Decrementing for loops

a = " ".join(str(i) for i in range(10, 0, -1))
print (a)

git cherry-pick says "...38c74d is a merge but no -m option was given"

Simplification of @Daira Hopwood method good for picking one single commit. Need no temporary branches.

In the case of the author:

  • Z is wanted commit (fd9f578)
  • Y is commit before it
  • X current working branch

then do:

git checkout Z # move HEAD to wanted commit
git reset Y # have Z as changes in working tree
git stash # save Z in stash
git checkout X # return to working branch
git stash pop # apply Z to current branch
git commit -a # do commit

Android Studio emulator does not come with Play Store for API 23

Now there's no need to side load any packages of execute any scripts to get the Play Store on the emulator. Starting from Android Studio 2.4 now you can create an AVD that has Play Store pre-installed on it. Currently it is supported only on the AVDs running Android 7.0 (API 24) system images.

What is cURL in PHP?

cURL is a library that lets you make HTTP requests in PHP. Everything you need to know about it (and most other extensions) can be found in the PHP manual.

In order to use PHP's cURL functions you need to install the » libcurl package. PHP requires that you use libcurl 7.0.2-beta or higher. In PHP 4.2.3, you will need libcurl version 7.9.0 or higher. From PHP 4.3.0, you will need a libcurl version that's 7.9.8 or higher. PHP 5.0.0 requires a libcurl version 7.10.5 or greater.

You can make HTTP requests without cURL, too, though it requires allow_url_fopen to be enabled in your php.ini file.

// Make a HTTP GET request and print it (requires allow_url_fopen to be enabled)
print file_get_contents('http://www.example.com/');

Difference between HashSet and HashMap?

The main difference between them you can find as follows:

HashSet

  • It does not allow duplicate keys.
  • Even it is not synchronized, so this will have better performance.
  • It allows a null key.
  • HashSet can be used when you want to maintain a unique list.
  • HashSet implements Set interface and it is backed by the hash table(actually HashMap instance).
  • HashSet stores objects.
  • HashSet doesn’t allow duplicate elements but null values are allowed.
  • This interface doesn’t guarantee that order will remain constant over time.

HashMap

  • It allows duplicate keys. It is not synchronized, so this will have better performance.
  • HashMap does not maintain insertion order.
  • The order is defined by the Hash function.
  • It is not Thread Safe
  • It allows null for both key and value.
  • It allows one null key and as many null values as you like.
  • HashMap is a Hash table-based implementation of the Map interface.
  • HashMap store object as key and value pair.
  • HashMap does not allow duplicate keys but null keys and values are allowed.
  • Ordering of the element is not guaranteed overtime.

jQuery to remove an option from drop down list, given option's text/value

I know it is very late but following approach can also be used:

<select id="type" name="type" >
    <option value="Permanent" id="permanent">I am here to stay.</option>
    <option value="toremove" id="toremove">Remove me!</option>
    <option value="Other" id="other">Other</option>
</select>

and if I have to remove second option (id=toremove), the script would look like

$('#toremove').hide();

How to hide column of DataGridView when using custom DataSource?

Comments in .gitignore?

Yes, you may put comments in there. They however must start at the beginning of a line.

cf. http://git-scm.com/book/en/Git-Basics-Recording-Changes-to-the-Repository#Ignoring-Files

The rules for the patterns you can put in the .gitignore file are as follows:
- Blank lines or lines starting with # are ignored.
[…]

The comment character is #, example:

# no .a files
*.a

CURL Command Line URL Parameters

The application/x-www-form-urlencoded Content-type header is not needed. Unless the request handler expects the parameters coming from request body. Try it out:

curl -X DELETE "http://localhost:5000/locations?id=3"

or

curl -X GET "http://localhost:5000/locations?id=3"

How to verify static void method has been called with power mockito

If you are mocking the behavior (with something like doNothing()) there should really be no need to call to verify*(). That said, here's my stab at re-writing your test method:

@PrepareForTest({InternalUtils.class})
@RunWith(PowerMockRunner.class)
public class InternalServiceTest { //Note the renaming of the test class.
   public void testProcessOrder() {
        //Variables
        InternalService is = new InternalService();
        Order order = mock(Order.class);

        //Mock Behavior
        when(order.isSuccessful()).thenReturn(true);
        mockStatic(Internalutils.class);
        doNothing().when(InternalUtils.class); //This is the preferred way
                                               //to mock static void methods.
        InternalUtils.sendEmail(anyString(), anyString(), anyString(), anyString());

        //Execute
        is.processOrder(order);

        //Verify
        verifyStatic(InternalUtils.class); //Similar to how you mock static methods
                                           //this is how you verify them.
        InternalUtils.sendEmail(anyString(), anyString(), anyString(), anyString());
   }
}

I grouped into four sections to better highlight what is going on:

1. Variables

I choose to declare any instance variables / method arguments / mock collaborators here. If it is something used in multiple tests, consider making it an instance variable of the test class.

2. Mock Behavior

This is where you define the behavior of all of your mocks. You're setting up return values and expectations here, prior to executing the code under test. Generally speaking, if you set the mock behavior here you wouldn't need to verify the behavior later.

3. Execute

Nothing fancy here; this just kicks off the code being tested. I like to give it its own section to call attention to it.

4. Verify

This is when you call any method starting with verify or assert. After the test is over, you check that the things you wanted to have happen actually did happen. That is the biggest mistake I see with your test method; you attempted to verify the method call before it was ever given a chance to run. Second to that is you never specified which static method you wanted to verify.

Additional Notes

This is mostly personal preference on my part. There is a certain order you need to do things in but within each grouping there is a little wiggle room. This helps me quickly separate out what is happening where.

I also highly recommend going through the examples at the following sites as they are very robust and can help with the majority of the cases you'll need:

how to set ul/li bullet point color?

http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_list-style-type.asp

You need to use list-style-type: to change bullet type/style and the above link has all of the options listed. As others have stated the color is changed using the color property on the ul itself

To create 'black filled' bullets, use 'disc' instead of 'circle',i.e.:

list-style-type:disc
