java.lang.ClassCastException: java.util.LinkedHashMap cannot be cast to com.testing.models.Account

The issue's coming from Jackson. When it doesn't have enough information on what class to deserialize to, it uses LinkedHashMap.

Since you're not informing Jackson of the element type of your ArrayList, it doesn't know that you want to deserialize into an ArrayList of Accounts. So it falls back to the default.

Instead, you could probably use as(JsonNode.class), and then deal with the ObjectMapper in a richer manner than rest-assured allows. Something like this:

I'm an Excel developer, and I definitely felt the pain when this happened. Fortunately, I was able to find a workaround by renaming the MSForms.exd files in VBA even when Excel is running, which also can fix the issue. Excel developers who need to distribute their spreadsheets can add the following VBA code to their spreadsheets to make them immune to the MS update.

Place this code in any module.

The RenameMSFormsFiles subroutine tries to rename the MSForms.exd files in the C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\Excel8.0\ and C:\Users\[user.name]\AppData\Local\Temp\VBE\ folders to MSForms - Copy.exd.

Then call the RenameMSFormsFiles subroutine at the very beginning of the Workbook_Open event.

The spreadsheet will try to rename the MSForms.exd files when it opens. Obviously, this is not a perfect fix:

  1. The affected user will still experience the ActiveX control errors when running the VBA code the very first time opening the spreadsheet. Only after executing the VBA code once and restarting Excel, the issue is fixed. Normally when a user encounters a broken spreadsheet, the knee-jerk reaction is to close Excel and try to open the spreadsheet again. :)
  2. The MSForms.exd files are renamed every time the spreadsheet opens, even when there's no issue with the MSForms.exd files. But the spreadsheet will work just fine.

At least for now, Excel developers can continue to distribute their work with this workaround until Microsoft releases a fix.

Here's a solution using that ggplot package (version 3.x) in addition to what you've gotten so far.

We use the position argument of geom_bar set to position = "fill". You may also use position = position_fill() if you want to use the arguments of position_fill() (vjust and reverse).

Note that your data is in a 'wide' format, whereas ggplot2 requires it to be in a 'long' format. Thus, we first need to gather the data.

What is serving_default?

It's the name of the signature def of the tag you selected (in this case, the default serve tag was selected). Also, here explains how to find the tag's and signatures of a model using saved_model_cli.

Disclaimers

This is just a basic example if you just want to get it up and running, but is by no means a complete answer - maybe I can update it in the future. I just wanted to give a simple example using the SavedModel in TF 2.0 because I haven't seen one, even this simple, anywhere.

jQuery uses a regex to remove script tags in some cases and I'm pretty sure its devs had a damn good reason to do so. Probably some browser does execute scripts when inserting them using innerHTML.

Here's the regex:

And before people start crying "but regexes for HTML are evil": Yes, they are - but for script tags they are safe because of the special behaviour - a <script> section may not contain </script> at all unless it should end at this position. So matching it with a regex is easily possible. However, from a quick look the regex above does not account for trailing whitespace inside the closing tag so you'd have to test if </script    etc. will still work.

Send attachments with PHP Mail()?

I agree with @MihaiIorga in the comments – use the PHPMailer script. You sound like you're rejecting it because you want the easier option. Trust me, PHPMailer is the easier option by a very large margin compared to trying to do it yourself with PHP's built-in mail() function. PHP's mail() function really isn't very good.

To use PHPMailer:

  • Download the PHPMailer script from here: http://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer
  • Extract the archive and copy the script's folder to a convenient place in your project.
  • Include the main script file -- require_once('path/to/file/class.phpmailer.php');

Now, sending emails with attachments goes from being insanely difficult to incredibly easy:

Since the value of $var is the empty string, this:

expands to this:

which is a syntax error.

You need to quote the arguments:

if [ "$var" == "$var1" ]; then

You can also use = rather than ==; that's the original syntax, and it's a bit more portable.

If you're using bash, you can use the [[ syntax, which doesn't require the quotes:

if [[ $var = $var1 ]]; then

Even then, it doesn't hurt to quote the variable reference, and adding quotes:

if [[ "$var" = "$var1" ]]; then

might save a future reader a moment trying to remember whether [[ ... ]] requires them.

You have to be careful with this so that it doesn't interfere with the user's normal tapping of the cell and also note that handleLongPress may fire multiple times (this will be due to the gesture recognizer state changes).

Python Sets vs Lists

It depends on what you are intending to do with it.

Sets are significantly faster when it comes to determining if an object is present in the set (as in x in s), but are slower than lists when it comes to iterating over their contents.

You can use the timeit module to see which is faster for your situation.

You need to add a width and a height of the background image for it to display properly.

I spent a lot of time on this, finally what worked for me is:

1) Open Sql Server Configuration Manager --> SQL Server Network configuration --> Protocols for <(INSTANCE)> --> TCP/IP (double click on it).

3) Go to the last entry IP All and mention TCP Port 1433.

Apply style ONLY on IE

Here is a COMPLETE Javascript-free, CSS-based solution that allows you to target Internet Explorer 1-11!

My Internet Explorer Only CSS Solution

This works by hiding IE1-7 from all your modern sheets using @import, giving IE1-7 a clean, white page layout, then applies three simple CSS media query "hacks" to isolate IE8-11 in the imported sheet. It even affects IE on Mac!

The advantage to this strategy is its 100% effective in targeting IE1-11, giving you complete control over how you customize CSS for those targeted browsers, while freeing you up as a designer to focus on newer CSS3 and cutting-edge styles and layouts in Edge and all other modern browsers going forward. I have been using a version of this since 2004 but recently updated it for 2021.

HOW IT WORKS

First create two CSS style sheet links. The first is a basic element style sheet that gives all browsers, old and new, a simple white, block-level layout. Linked CSS has wide support in older CSS1 browsers going back to 1995. A wide range of old browsers will see this first sheet and display your content and layouts in a clean, white block-level content page. I like to put "reset" element-only styles in here. The second sheet is an import sheet that will load all your advanced CSS styles using a single @import rule that hides styles to a wide range of browsers including IE1-7.

All CSS in this imported sheet will be hidden from IE1-7 and a wide range of older browsers. IE 1-7 doesn't understand "media type" value "all" so will fail to import this sheet. This specific version of import is also not recognized by many older browsers (pre-2001). Those browsers are so old now, you just need to deliver them a white web page with stacked blocks of content. Use "OldBrowsers" to do so.

Next, in "ModernBrowsers.css" you want to target IE8-11 using CSS media query "hacks" alongside all your normal selectors and classes. Simply apply the following media query, IE-only fixes to your modern, imported style sheet to target these specific IE browsers. Drop into these blocks any styles specific to them. You can attack your layout or other style issues in IE now in media query "batches" now rather than by multiple selector "hacks":

The following browsers are excluded from "ModernBrowsers.css" using the above @import rule:

    • Windows Internet Explorer 1-7.x
    • Macintosh Internet Explorer 1-5.x
    • Netscape 1-4.8
    • Opera 1-3.5
    • Konqueror 1-2.1
    • Windows Amaya 1-5.1
    • iCab 1-2
    • OmniWeb
  2. In your "ModernBrowsers" imported sheet, you can now safely target IE browsers version 8-11 using simple media query "hacks".

  3. This system uses a simple @import style sheet system that is fast and manageable using traditional, non-support for external style rules rather than CSS fixes sprinkled throughout multiple sheets. (BTW...Do not listen to anyone saying @import is slow, as it is not. My import sheet has ONE LINE and is maybe a kilobyte or less in size! @import has been used since the birth of the WWW and is no different than a simple CSS link. Compare this to the Megabytes of Javascript kids today are shoving into browsers using these new "modern" ECMAScript SPA API's just to display a tiny paragraph of news!)

  4. All old IE browsers and a wide range of other user agnets are excluded from modern styles now using this import strategy, which allows these agents to collapse back to plain, "block-level", white pages and stacked content layouts that are fully accessible by older browsers.

  5. Notice this solution has no IE conditional comments! (you should NEVER use those)

  6. With this solution, web designs are now 100% free to use custom, cutting edge CSS3 technologies without having to ever worry about older browsers and IE1-11 ever again!

Detach (move) subdirectory into separate Git repository

In short: use the -m32 flag to compile a 32-bit binary.

Facebook is using LAMP structure. Facebook’s back-end services are written in a variety of different programming languages including C++, Java, Python, and Erlang and they are used according to requirement. With LAMP Facebook uses some technologies ,to support large number of requests, like

  1. Memcache - It is a memory caching system that is used to speed up dynamic database-driven websites (like Facebook) by caching data and objects in RAM to reduce reading time. Memcache is Facebook’s primary form of caching and helps alleviate the database load. Having a caching system allows Facebook to be as fast as it is at recalling your data.

  2. Thrift (protocol) - It is a lightweight remote procedure call framework for scalable cross-language services development. Thrift supports C++, PHP, Python, Perl, Java, Ruby, Erlang, and others.

  3. Cassandra (database) - It is a database management system designed to handle large amounts of data spread out across many servers.

  4. HipHop for PHP - It is a source code transformer for PHP script code and was created to save server resources. HipHop transforms PHP source code into optimized C++. After doing this, it uses g++ to compile it to machine code.

Java: Static vs inner class

  1. Static inner class cannot access non-static members of enclosing class. It can directly access static members (instance field and methods) of enclosing class same like the procedural style of getting value without creating object.

  2. Static inner class can declare both static and non-static members. The static methods have access to static members of main class. However, it cannot access non-static inner class members. To access members of non-static inner class, it has to create object of non-static inner class.

  3. Non-static inner class cannot declare static field and static methods. It has to be declared in either static or top level types. You will get this error on doing so saying "static fields only be declared in static or top level types".

What does 'stale file handle' in Linux mean?

When the directory is deleted, the inode for that directory (and the inodes for its contents) are recycled. The pointer your shell has to that directory's inode (and its contents's inodes) are now no longer valid. When the directory is restored from backup, the old inodes are not (necessarily) reused; the directory and its contents are stored on random inodes. The only thing that stays the same is that the parent directory reuses the same name for the restored directory (because you told it to).

Now if you attempt to access the contents of the directory that your original shell is still pointing to, it communicates that request to the file system as a request for the original inode, which has since been recycled (and may even be in use for something entirely different now). So you get a stale file handle message because you asked for some nonexistent data.

It's bad practice but you might be forgiven if you use

 GROUP BY 1

in a very simple query.

You can also use

Summary:

  • You only log in once, and that's when ~/.bash_profile or ~/.profile is read and executed. Since everything you run from your login shell inherits the login shell's environment, you should put all your environment variables in there. Like LESS, PATH, MANPATH, LC_*, ...   • Once you log in, you can run several more shells. Imagine logging in, running X, and in X starting a few terminals with bash shells. That means your login shell started X, which inherited your login shell's environment variables, which started your terminals, which started your non-login bash shells. Non-login shells only execute ~/.bashrc, not /.profile or ~/.bash_profile, for this exact reason, so in there define everything that only applies to bash. Not strictly true. SID = unique name of the INSTANCE (eg the oracle process running on the machine). Oracle considers the "Database" to be the files.

I can't believe there's no BitSet solution.

A BitSet is an abstraction over a set of bits so we don't have to use boolean[] for more advanced interactions anymore, because it already contains most of the needed methods. It's also pretty fast in batch operations since it internally uses long values to store the bits and doesn't therefore check every bit separately like we do with boolean[].

How to get share counts using graph API

The first stat_summary call is the one that sets the base for the first y axis. The second stat_summary call is called to transform the data. Remember that all of the data will take as base the first y axis. So that data needs to be normalized for the first y axis. To do that I use the transformation function on the data: y=packetOkSinr*40 - 110

Now to transform the second axis I use the opposite function within the scale_y_continuous call: sec.axis=sec_axis(~.*0.025+2.75, name="y_second").

I finally found the problem. The error was not the good one.

Apparently, Ole DB source have a bug that might make it crash and throw that error. I replaced the OLE DB destination with a OLE DB Command with the insert statement in it and it fixed it.

How to test enum types?

I agree with aberrant80.

For enums, I test them only when they actually have methods in them. If it's a pure value-only enum like your example, I'd say don't bother.

But since you're keen on testing it, going with your second option is much better than the first. The problem with the first is that if you use an IDE, any renaming on the enums would also rename the ones in your test class.

I would expand on it by adding that unit testings an Enum can be very useful. If you work in a large code base, build time starts to mount up and a unit test can be a faster way to verify functionality (tests only build their dependencies). Another really big advantage is that other developers cannot change the functionality of your code unintentionally (a huge problem with very large teams).

And with all Test Driven Development, tests around an Enums Methods reduce the number of bugs in your code base.

Otherwise I think you are performing a mix of ON and WITH, perhaps the problem.

If all you want is use one numeric type, you could consider creating something similar to an alias in C++ with using.

So instead of having the very generic

T ComputeSomething<T>(T value1, T value2) where T : INumeric { ... }

you could have

using MyNumType = System.Double;
T ComputeSomething<MyNumType>(MyNumType value1, MyNumType value2) { ... }

That might allow you to easily go from double to int or others if needed, but you wouldn't be able to use ComputeSomething with double and int in the same program.

But why not replace all double to int then? Because your method may want to use a double whether the input is double or int. The alias allows you to know exactly which variable uses the dynamic type.

Oracle's default date format is YYYY-MM-DD, WHY?

reason: if you are looking at a column of data with a time stamp, the _MOST_IMPORTANT_ bit of information is the year. If data has been in the db for ten years, that's important to know. so year comes first.

it makes sense that month would come next, then day, hour, minute. Objectively, these are the most logical sequence for time data to be displayed.

it also makes sense that if you are going to display the data by default, you should display only the most significant portion of the data, so by default, only Y-M-D. everything else CAN be displayed, but it does not clutter your sql report by default.

Ordering by date is logical if you display Y-M-D because it is sequential. Computers are good at sequential, and it looks logical.

finally. Your bias to want M-D-Y is your bias. Not everyone even in the US uses this format. So use the most logical format and don't be outraged when others decide to be logical by default.

You have to enable USB debugging before plugging your device in to the computer. Unplug device then try to enable USB debugging. This should work. If so, you can then plug it back into the computer and it should work

Is it possible to add an HTML link in the body of a MAILTO link

Add the full link, with:

 "http://"

to the beginning of a line, and most decent email clients will auto-link it either before sending, or at the other end when receiving.

For really long urls that will likely wrap due to all the parameters, wrap the link in a less than/greater than symbol. This tells the email client not to wrap the url.

I would make a new image of the dog's silhouette (black) and the rest the same as the original image. In the html, add a wrapper div with this silhouette as as background. Now, make the original image semi-transparent. The dog will become darker and the background of the dog will stay the same. You can do :hover tricks by setting the opacity of the original image to 100% on hover. Then the dog pops out when you mouse over him!

How does MySQL process ORDER BY and LIMIT in a query?

The LIMIT clause can be used to constrain the number of rows returned by the SELECT statement. LIMIT takes one or two numeric arguments, which must both be nonnegative integer constants (except when using prepared statements).

With two arguments, the first argument specifies the offset of the first row to return, and the second specifies the maximum number of rows to return. The offset of the initial row is 0 (not 1):

SELECT * FROM tbl LIMIT 5,10; # Retrieve rows 6-15

To retrieve all rows from a certain offset up to the end of the result set, you can use some large number for the second parameter. This statement retrieves all rows from the 96th row to the last:

SELECT * FROM tbl LIMIT 95,18446744073709551615;

With one argument, the value specifies the number of rows to return from the beginning of the result set:

SELECT * FROM tbl LIMIT 5; # Retrieve first 5 rows

In other words, LIMIT row_count is equivalent to LIMIT 0, row_count.

How to persist a property of type List<String> in JPA?

This answer was made pre-JPA2 implementations, if you're using JPA2, see the ElementCollection answer above:

Lists of objects inside a model object are generally considered "OneToMany" relationships with another object. However, a String is not (by itself) an allowable client of a One-to-Many relationship, as it doesn't have an ID.

So, you should convert your list of Strings to a list of Argument-class JPA objects containing an ID and a String. You could potentially use the String as the ID, which would save a little space in your table both from removing the ID field and by consolidating rows where the Strings are equal, but you would lose the ability to order the arguments back into their original order (as you didn't store any ordering information).

Alternatively, you could convert your list to @Transient and add another field (argStorage) to your class that is either a VARCHAR() or a CLOB. You'll then need to add 3 functions: 2 of them are the same and should convert your list of Strings into a single String (in argStorage) delimited in a fashion that you can easily separate them. Annotate these two functions (that each do the same thing) with @PrePersist and @PreUpdate. Finally, add the third function that splits the argStorage into the list of Strings again and annotate it @PostLoad. This will keep your CLOB updated with the strings whenever you go to store the Command, and keep the argStorage field updated before you store it to the DB.

I still suggest doing the first case. It's good practice for real relationships later.

Batch script: how to check for admin rights

Here's my 2-pennies worth:

I needed a batch to run within a Domain environment during the user login process, within a 'workroom' environment, seeing users adhere to a "lock-down" policy and restricted view (mainly distributed via GPO sets).

A Domain GPO set is applied before an AD user linked login script Creating a GPO login script was too per-mature as the users "new" profile hadn't been created/loaded/or ready in time to apply a "remove and/or Pin" taskbar and Start Menu items vbscript + add some local files.

e.g.: The proposed 'default-user' profile environment requires a ".URL' (.lnk) shortcut placed within the "%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs*MyNewOWA.url*", and the "C:\Users\Public\Desktop\*MyNewOWA.url*" locations, amongst other items

The users have multiple machines within the domain, where only these set 'workroom' PCs require these policies.

These folders require 'Admin' rights to modify, and although the 'Domain User' is part of the local 'Admin' group - UAC was the next challenge.

Found various adaptations and amalgamated here. I do have some users with BYOD devices as well that required other files with perm issues. Have not tested on XP (a little too old an OS), but the code is present, would love feed back.

Domain PC's should be governed as much as possible by GPO sets. Workgroup/Standalone machines can be governed by this script.

Remember, a UAC prompt will pop-up at least once with a BYOD workgroup PC (as soon as the first elevating to 'Admin perms' is required), but as the local security policy is modified for admin use from this point on, the pop-ups will disappear.

A Domain PC should have the GPO "ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin" policy set within your 'already' created "Lock-down" policy - as explained in the script 'REFERENCES' section.

Again, run the secedit.exe import of the default '.inf' file if you are stuck on the whole "To UAC or Not to UAC" debate :-).

Convert Python ElementTree to string

Element objects have no .getroot() method. Drop that call, and the .tostring() call works:

xmlstr = ElementTree.tostring(et, encoding='utf8', method='xml')

You only need to use .getroot() if you have an ElementTree instance.

Other notes:

  • This produces a bytestring, which in Python 3 is the bytes type.
    If you must have a str object, you have two options:

    1. Decode the resulting bytes value, from UTF-8: xmlstr.decode("utf8")

    2. Use encoding='unicode'; this avoids an encode / decode cycle:

      xmlstr = ElementTree.tostring(et, encoding='unicode', method='xml')
      
  • If you wanted the UTF-8 encoded bytestring value or are using Python 2, take into account that ElementTree doesn't properly detect utf8 as the standard XML encoding, so it'll add a <?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf8'?> declaration. Use utf-8 or UTF-8 (with a dash) if you want to prevent this. When using encoding="unicode" no declaration header is added.

Force add despite the .gitignore file

Despite Daniel Böhmer's working solution, Ohad Schneider offered a better solution in a comment:

If the file is usually ignored, and you force adding it - it can be accidentally ignored again in the future (like when the file is deleted, then a commit is made and the file is re-created.

You should just un-ignore it in the .gitignore file like that: Unignore subdirectories of ignored directories in Git

Include another JSP file

For a reason I don't yet understand, after I used <%@include file="includes/footer.jsp" %> in my index.jsp then in the other jsp files like register.jsp I had to use <%@ include file="footer.jsp"%>. As you see there was no more need to use full path, STS had store my initial path.

You can define @item1 as NULL by default at the top of your stored procedure, and then not pass in a parameter.
