Is there a numpy builtin to reject outliers from a list

Here I find the outliers in x and substitute them with the median of a window of points (win) around them (taking from Benjamin Bannier answer the median deviation)

"Parser Error Message: Could not load type" in Global.asax

This can also happen if you accidentally forget to set your VS solution to "Multiple Startup Projects" if you are running a Web and WebApi from the same solution.

Java Returning method which returns arraylist?

Your method can be called and the arraylist can be stored like this

YourClassName class = new YourClassName();
Arraylist<Integer> numbers = class.numbers();

This also allows the arraylist to be manipulated further in this class

Using CSS for a fade-in effect on page load

You can use the onload="" HTML attribute and use JavaScript to adjust the opacity style of your element.

Leave your CSS as you proposed. Edit your HTML code to:

<body onload="document.getElementById(test).style.opacity='1'">
    <div id="test">
        <p>?This is a test</p>
    </div>
</body>

This also works to fade-in the complete page when finished loading:

HTML:

<body onload="document.body.style.opacity='1'">
</body>

CSS:

body{
    opacity: 0;
    transition: opacity 2s;
    -webkit-transition: opacity 2s; /* Safari */
}

Check the W3Schools website: transitions and an article for changing styles with JavaScript.

How to resize an image to a specific size in OpenCV?

You can use cvResize. Or better use c++ interface (eg cv::Mat instead of IplImage and cv::imread instead of cvLoadImage) and then use cv::resize which handles memory allocation and deallocation itself.

Centering text in a table in Twitter Bootstrap

just give the surrounding <tr> a custom class like:

<tr class="custom_centered">
  <td>1</td>
  <td>2</td>
  <td>3</td>
</tr>

and have the css only select <td>s that are inside an <tr> with your custom class.

tr.custom_centered td {
  text-align: center;
}

like this you don't risk to override other tables or even override a bootstrap base class (like some of my predecessors suggested).

Twitter Bootstrap: div in container with 100% height

Set the class .fill to height: 100%

.fill {
    min-height: 100%;
    height: 100%;
}

JSFiddle

(I put a red background for #map so you can see it takes up 100% height)

How to disable "prevent this page from creating additional dialogs"?

You can't. It's a browser feature there to prevent sites from showing hundreds of alerts to prevent you from leaving.

You can, however, look into modal popups like jQuery UI Dialog. These are javascript alert boxes that show a custom dialog. They don't use the default alert() function and therefore, bypass the issue you're running into completely.

I've found that an apps that has a lot of message boxes and confirms has a much better user experience if you use custom dialogs instead of the default alerts and confirms.

Eclipse: "'Periodic workspace save.' has encountered a pro?blem."

This happened to me because i deleted one of the resources files inside the .metadata folder in my workspace.

After trying all methods, deleting the .metadata folder in my workspace worked.

Infact, this nuke option seems to work when there are a lot of issues related to eclipse bugs. One such example is working-sets. Working-sets are extremely buggy(but useful) and it is there that most of my eclipse problems start.

Hope this helps someone.

How to deny access to a file in .htaccess

Strong pattern matching — This is the method that I use here at Perishable Press. Using strong pattern matching, this technique prevents external access to any file containing “.hta”, “.HTA”, or any case-insensitive combination thereof. To illustrate, this code will prevent access through any of the following requests:

  • .htaccess
  • .HTACCESS
  • .hTaCcEsS
  • testFILE.htaccess
  • filename.HTACCESS
  • FILEROOT.hTaCcEsS

..etc., etc. Clearly, this method is highly effective at securing your site’s HTAccess files. Further, this technique also includes the fortifying “Satisfy All” directive. Note that this code should be placed in your domain’s root HTAccess file:

# STRONG HTACCESS PROTECTION
<Files ~ "^.*\.([Hh][Tt][Aa])">
order allow,deny
deny from all
satisfy all
</Files>

Dots in URL causes 404 with ASP.NET mvc and IIS

I believe you have to set the property relaxedUrlToFileSystemMapping in your web.config. Haack wrote an article about this a little while ago (and there are some other SO posts asking the same types of question)

<system.web>
<httpRuntime relaxedUrlToFileSystemMapping="true" />

Edit From the comments below, later versions of .NET / IIS may require this to be in the system.WebServer element.

<system.webServer>
<httpRuntime relaxedUrlToFileSystemMapping="true" />

How do I setup the InternetExplorerDriver so it works

Unpack it and place somewhere you can find it. In my example, I will assume you will place it to C:\Selenium\iexploredriver.exe

Then you have to set it up in the system. Here is the Java code pasted from my Selenium project:

File file = new File("C:/Selenium/iexploredriver.exe");
System.setProperty("webdriver.ie.driver", file.getAbsolutePath());
WebDriver driver = new InternetExplorerDriver();

Basically, you have to set this property before you initialize driver

Split string into individual words Java

To include any separators between words (like everything except all lower case and upper case letters), we can do:

String mystring = "hi, there,hi Leo";
String[] arr = mystring.split("[^a-zA-Z]+");
for(int i = 0; i < arr.length; i += 1)
{
     System.out.println(arr[i]);
}

Here the regex means that the separators will be anything that is not a upper or lower case letter [^a-zA-Z], in groups of at least one [+].

One or more types required to compile a dynamic expression cannot be found. Are you missing references to Microsoft.CSharp.dll and System.Core.dll?

For me, removing and re-adding a reference to Microsoft.CSharp fixed the problem temporarily until the affected file was edited. Closing Visual Studio and reopening the project fixed it more long-term, so that's an option if this situation occurs while Microsoft.CSharp is already referenced.

Maybe restarting the IDE as a first step seems trivial, but here's a reminder for people like me who don't think of that as the first thing to do.

Rollback a Git merge

Just reset the merge commit with git reset --hard HEAD^.

If you use --no-ff git always creates a merge, even if you did not commit anything in between. Without --no-ff git will just do a fast forward, meaning your branches HEAD will be set to HEAD of the merged branch. To resolve this find the commit-id you want to revert to and git reset --hard $COMMITID.

PHP Array to JSON Array using json_encode();

json_encode() function will help you to encode array to JSON in php.

if you will use just json_encode function directly without any specific option, it will return an array. Like mention above question

$array = array(
  2 => array("Afghanistan",32,13),
  4 => array("Albania",32,12)
);
$out = array_values($array);
json_encode($out);
// [["Afghanistan",32,13],["Albania",32,12]]

Since you are trying to convert Array to JSON, Then I would suggest to use JSON_FORCE_OBJECT as additional option(parameters) in json_encode, Like below

<?php
$array=['apple','orange','banana','strawberry'];
echo json_encode($array, JSON_FORCE_OBJECT);
// {"0":"apple","1":"orange","2":"banana","3":"strawberry"}
?>

Count number of times a date occurs and make a graph out of it

If you have Excel 2010 you can copy your data into another column, than select it and choose Data -> Remove Duplicates. You can then write =COUNTIF($A$1:$A$100,B1) next to it and copy the formula down. This assumes you have your values in range A1:A100 and the de-duplicated values are in column B.

PHP Warning: POST Content-Length of 8978294 bytes exceeds the limit of 8388608 bytes in Unknown on line 0

  1. Create new text file in your wp-admin directory root and name it info.php.

  2. Open info.php and add this line:

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>

  3. Save it.

  4. Go to yourwebsitename(probably localhost)/wp-admin/info.php in any web-browser.

  5. On the 8th line you will see: Configuration File (php.ini) Path, in my case it is C:\Windows, meaning it is located on my C drive.

  6. In the 9th line you will see: Loaded Configuration File, and next to it is written C:\xampp\php.ini

So I found my php.ini page that is associated with my wordpress web-site.

  1. Go to that path, and find php.ini.

  2. Open it, and edit:

    Search for post_max_size=8M, and change it to post_max_size=1000M

    Search for upload_max_filesize=2M, and change it to upload_max_filesize=1000M

  3. Go back to your Admin page ? Media ? Add New

  4. On the bottom you will see that 2MB has changed to 1000M.

Once you done this process then you must restart your web server or just restart your computer.

How to get a float result by dividing two integer values using T-SQL?

Because SQL Server performs integer division. Try this:

select 1 * 1.0 / 3

This is helpful when you pass integers as params.

select x * 1.0 / y

CSS Vertical align does not work with float

Vertical alignment doesn't work with floated elements, indeed. That's because float lifts the element from the normal flow of the document. You might want to use other vertical aligning techniques, like the ones based on transform, display: table, absolute positioning, line-height, js (last resort maybe) or even the plain old html table (maybe the first choice if the content is actually tabular). You'll find that there's a heated debate on this issue.

However, this is how you can vertically align YOUR 3 divs:

.wrap{
    width: 500px;
    overflow:hidden;
    background: pink;
}

.left {
    width: 150px;
    margin-right: 10px;
    background: yellow;
    display:inline-block;
    vertical-align: middle;
}

.left2 {
    width: 150px;
    margin-right: 10px;
    background: aqua;
    display:inline-block;
    vertical-align: middle;
}

.right{
    width: 150px;
    background: orange;
    display:inline-block;
    vertical-align: middle;
}

Not sure why you needed both fixed width, display: inline-block and floating.

UIButton Image + Text IOS

I think you are looking for this solution for your problem:

UIButton *_button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
[_button setFrame:CGRectMake(0.f, 0.f, 128.f, 128.f)]; // SET the values for your wishes
[_button setCenter:CGPointMake(128.f, 128.f)]; // SET the values for your wishes
[_button setClipsToBounds:false];
[_button setBackgroundImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"jquery-mobile-icon.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; // SET the image name for your wishes
[_button setTitle:@"Button" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
[_button.titleLabel setFont:[UIFont systemFontOfSize:24.f]];
[_button setTitleColor:[UIColor blackColor] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; // SET the colour for your wishes
[_button setTitleColor:[UIColor redColor] forState:UIControlStateHighlighted]; // SET the colour for your wishes
[_button setTitleEdgeInsets:UIEdgeInsetsMake(0.f, 0.f, -110.f, 0.f)]; // SET the values for your wishes
[_button addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonTouchedUpInside:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; // you can ADD the action to the button as well like

...the rest of the customisation of the button is your duty now, and don't forget to add the button to your view.

UPDATE #1 and UPDATE #2

or, if you don't need a dynamic button you could add your button to your view in the Interface Builder and you could set the same values at there as well. it is pretty same, but here is this version as well in one simple picture.

you can also see the final result in the Interface Builder as it is on the screenshot.

Difference between `npm start` & `node app.js`, when starting app?

From the man page, npm start:

runs a package's "start" script, if one was provided. If no version is specified, then it starts the "active" version.

Admittedly, that description is completely unhelpful, and that's all it says. At least it's more documented than socket.io.

Anyhow, what really happens is that npm looks in your package.json file, and if you have something like

"scripts": { "start": "coffee server.coffee" }

then it will do that. If npm can't find your start script, it defaults to:

node server.js

How can I send JSON response in symfony2 controller

To complete @thecatontheflat answer I would recommend to also wrap your action inside of a try … catch block. This will prevent your JSON endpoint from breaking on exceptions. Here's the skeleton I use:

public function someAction()
{
    try {

        // Your logic here...

        return new JsonResponse([
            'success' => true,
            'data'    => [] // Your data here
        ]);

    } catch (\Exception $exception) {

        return new JsonResponse([
            'success' => false,
            'code'    => $exception->getCode(),
            'message' => $exception->getMessage(),
        ]);

    }
}

This way your endpoint will behave consistently even in case of errors and you will be able to treat them right on a client side.

FULL OUTER JOIN vs. FULL JOIN

Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2000 uses these SQL-92 keywords for outer joins specified in a FROM clause:

  • LEFT OUTER JOIN or LEFT JOIN

  • RIGHT OUTER JOIN or RIGHT JOIN

  • FULL OUTER JOIN or FULL JOIN

From MSDN

The full outer join or full join returns all rows from both tables, matching up the rows wherever a match can be made and placing NULLs in the places where no matching row exists.

How to display the first few characters of a string in Python?

You can 'slice' a string very easily, just like you'd pull items from a list:

a_string = 'This is a string'

To get the first 4 letters:

first_four_letters = a_string[:4]
>>> 'This'

Or the last 5:

last_five_letters = a_string[-5:]
>>> 'string'

So applying that logic to your problem:

the_string = '416d76b8811b0ddae2fdad8f4721ddbe|d4f656ee006e248f2f3a8a93a8aec5868788b927|12a5f648928f8e0b5376d2cc07de8e4cbf9f7ccbadb97d898373f85f0a75c47f '
first_32_chars = the_string[:32]
>>> 416d76b8811b0ddae2fdad8f4721ddbe

Check if an object exists

You can also use get_object_or_404(), it will raise a Http404 if the object wasn't found:

user_pass = log_in(request.POST) #form class
if user_pass.is_valid():
    cleaned_info = user_pass.cleaned_data
    user_object = get_object_or_404(User, email=cleaned_info['username'])
    # User object found, you are good to go!
    ...

Does return stop a loop?

This code will exit the loop after the first iteration in a for of loop:

const objc = [{ name: 1 }, { name: 2 }, { name: 3 }];
for (const iterator of objc) {
  if (iterator.name == 2) {
    return;
  }
  console.log(iterator.name);// 1
}

the below code will jump on the condition and continue on a for of loop:

const objc = [{ name: 1 }, { name: 2 }, { name: 3 }];

for (const iterator of objc) {
  if (iterator.name == 2) {
    continue;
  }
  console.log(iterator.name); // 1  , 3
}

If you have a lot of commits to rebase, and some part of them are giving conflicts, that really hurts. But I can suggest a less-known approach how to "squash all the conflicts".

First, checkout temp branch and start standard merge

git checkout -b temp
git merge origin/master

You will have to resolve conflicts, but only once and only real ones. Then stage all files and finish merge.

git commit -m "Merge branch 'origin/master' into 'temp'"

Then return to your branch (let it be alpha) and start rebase, but with automatical resolving any conflicts.

git checkout alpha
git rebase origin/master -X theirs

Branch has been rebased, but project is probably in invalid state. That's OK, we have one final step. We just need to restore project state, so it will be exact as on branch 'temp'. Technically we just need to copy its tree (folder state) via low-level command git commit-tree. Plus merging into current branch just created commit.

git merge --ff $(git commit-tree temp^{tree} -m "Fix after rebase" -p HEAD)

And delete temporary branch

git branch -D temp

That's all. We did a rebase via hidden merge.

Also I wrote a script, so that can be done in a dialog manner, you can find it here.

change PATH permanently on Ubuntu

Add the following line in your .profile file in your home directory (using vi ~/.profile):

PATH=$PATH:/home/me/play
export PATH

Then, for the change to take effect, simply type in your terminal:

$ . ~/.profile

Parsing HTML using Python

I guess what you're looking for is pyquery:

pyquery: a jquery-like library for python.

An example of what you want may be like:

from pyquery import PyQuery
html = # Your HTML CODE
pq = PyQuery(html)
tag = pq('div#id') # or     tag = pq('div.class')
print tag.text()

And it uses the same selectors as Firefox's or Chrome's inspect element. For example:

the element selector is 'div#mw-head.noprint'

The inspected element selector is 'div#mw-head.noprint'. So in pyquery, you just need to pass this selector:

pq('div#mw-head.noprint')

mysql update column with value from another table

In addition to this answer if you need to change tableB.value according to tableA.value dynamically you can do for example:

UPDATE tableB
INNER JOIN tableA ON tableB.name = tableA.name
SET tableB.value = IF(tableA.value > 0, tableA.value, tableB.value)
WHERE tableA.name = 'Joe'

What is the difference between ApplicationContext and WebApplicationContext in Spring MVC?

Web Application context extended Application Context which is designed to work with the standard javax.servlet.ServletContext so it's able to communicate with the container.

public interface WebApplicationContext extends ApplicationContext {
    ServletContext getServletContext();
}

Beans, instantiated in WebApplicationContext will also be able to use ServletContext if they implement ServletContextAware interface

package org.springframework.web.context;
public interface ServletContextAware extends Aware {
     void setServletContext(ServletContext servletContext);
}

There are many things possible to do with the ServletContext instance, for example accessing WEB-INF resources(xml configs and etc.) by calling the getResourceAsStream() method. Typically all application contexts defined in web.xml in a servlet Spring application are Web Application contexts, this goes both to the root webapp context and the servlet's app context.

Also, depending on web application context capabilities may make your application a little harder to test, and you may need to use MockServletContext class for testing.

Difference between servlet and root context Spring allows you to build multilevel application context hierarchies, so the required bean will be fetched from the parent context if it's not present in the current application context. In web apps as default there are two hierarchy levels, root and servlet contexts: Servlet and root context.

This allows you to run some services as the singletons for the entire application (Spring Security beans and basic database access services typically reside here) and another as separated services in the corresponding servlets to avoid name clashes between beans. For example one servlet context will be serving the web pages and another will be implementing a stateless web service.

This two level separation comes out of the box when you use the spring servlet classes: to configure the root application context you should use context-param tag in your web.xml

<context-param>
    <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
    <param-value>
        /WEB-INF/root-context.xml
            /WEB-INF/applicationContext-security.xml
    </param-value>
</context-param>

(the root application context is created by ContextLoaderListener which is declared in web.xml

<listener>
        <listener-class>org.springframework.web.context.ContextLoaderListener</listener-class>
    </listener>

) and servlet tag for the servlet application contexts

<servlet>
   <servlet-name>myservlet</servlet-name>
   <servlet-class>org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet</servlet-class>
   <init-param>
      <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name>
      <param-value>app-servlet.xml</param-value>
   </init-param>
</servlet>

Please note that if init-param will be omitted, then spring will use myservlet-servlet.xml in this example.

Detecting Browser Autofill

My solution:

Listen to change events as you would normally, and on the DOM content load, do this:

setTimeout(function() {
    $('input').each(function() {
        var elem = $(this);
        if (elem.val()) elem.change();
    })
}, 250);

This will fire the change events for all the fields that aren't empty before the user had a chance to edit them.

Sum function in VBA

Difference between scaling horizontally and vertically for databases

There is an additional architecture that wasn't mentioned - SQL-based database services that enable horizontal scaling without the complexity of manual sharding. These services do the sharding in the background, so they enable you to run a traditional SQL database and scale out like you would with NoSQL engines like MongoDB or CouchDB. Two services I am familiar with are EnterpriseDB for PostgreSQL and Xeround for MySQL. I saw an in-depth post by Xeround which explains why scale-out on SQL databases is difficult and how they do it differently - treat this with a grain of salt as it is a vendor post. Also check out Wikipedia's Cloud Database entry, there is a nice explanation of SQL vs. NoSQL and service vs. self-hosted, a list of vendors and scaling options for each combination. ;)

How to fix Git error: object file is empty?

Here is a really simple and quick way to deal with this problem IF you have a local repo with all the branches and commits you need, and if you're OK with creating a new repo (or deleting the server's repo and making a new one in it's place):

  1. Create a new empty repo on the server (or delete the old repo and create a new one in its place)
  2. Change the remote URL of your local copy to point to the remote URL of the new repo.
  3. Push all branches from your local repo to the new server repo.

This preserves all the commit history and branches that you had in your local repo.

If you have collaborators on the repo, then I think in many cases all your collaborators have to do is change the remote URL of their local repo as well, and optionally push any commits they have that the server doesn't have.

This solution worked for me when I ran into this same problem. I had one collaborator. After I pushed my local repo to the new remote repo, he simply changed his local repo to point to the remote repo URL and everything worked fine.

If list index exists, do X

ok, so I think it's actually possible (for the sake of argument):

>>> your_list = [5,6,7]
>>> 2 in zip(*enumerate(your_list))[0]
True
>>> 3 in zip(*enumerate(your_list))[0]
False

How can I get the count of milliseconds since midnight for the current?

You can use java.util.Calendar class to get time in milliseconds. Example:

Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
int milliSec = cal.get(Calendar.MILLISECOND);
// print milliSec

java.util.Date date = cal.getTime();
System.out.println("Output: " +  new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy/MM/dd-HH:mm:ss:SSS").format(date));

If any of you is using the Angular-ui / ui-router, use:$state.go('yourstate') instead of $location. It did the trick for me.

Vim multiline editing like in sublimetext?

Do yourself a favor by dropping the Windows compatibility layer.

The normal shortcut for entering Visual-Block mode is <C-v>.

Others have dealt with recording macros, here are a few other ideas:

Using only visual-block mode.

  1. Put the cursor on the second word:

    asd |a|sd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;

  2. Hit <C-v> to enter visual-block mode and expand your selection toward the bottom:

    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;
    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;
    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;
    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;
    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;
    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;
    asd [a]sd asd asd asd;

  3. Hit I"<Esc> to obtain:

    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;

  4. Put the cursor on the last char of the third word:

    asd "asd as|d| asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;
    asd "asd asd asd asd;

  5. Hit <C-v> to enter visual-block mode and expand your selection toward the bottom:

    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;
    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;
    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;
    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;
    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;
    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;
    asd "asd as[d] asd asd;

  6. Hit A"<Esc> to obtain:

    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;

With visual-block mode and Surround.vim.

  1. Put the cursor on the second word:

    asd |a|sd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;
    asd asd asd asd asd;

  2. Hit <C-v> to enter visual-block mode and expand your selection toward the bottom and the right:

    asd [asd asd] asd asd;
    asd [asd asd] asd asd;
    asd [asd asd] asd asd;
    asd [asd asd] asd asd;
    asd [asd asd] asd asd;
    asd [asd asd] asd asd;
    asd [asd asd] asd asd;

  3. Hit S" to surround your selection with ":

    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;

With visual-line mode and :normal.

  1. Hit V to select the whole line and expand it toward the bottom:

    [asd asd asd asd asd;]
    [asd asd asd asd asd;]
    [asd asd asd asd asd;]
    [asd asd asd asd asd;]
    [asd asd asd asd asd;]
    [asd asd asd asd asd;]
    [asd asd asd asd asd;]

  2. Execute this command: :'<,'>norm ^wi"<C-v><Esc>eea"<CR> to obtain:

    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;
    asd "asd asd" asd asd;

    • :norm[al] allows you to execute normal mode commands on a range of lines (the '<,'> part is added automatically by Vim and means "act on the selected area")

    • ^ puts the cursor on the first char of the line

    • w moves to the next word

    • i" inserts a " before the cursor

    • <C-v><Esc> is Vim's way to input a control character in this context, here it's <Esc> used to exit insert mode

    • ee moves to the end of the next word

    • a" appends a " after the cursor

    • <CR> executes the command

    Using Surround.vim, the command above becomes

    :'<,'>norm ^wvees"<CR>

Python memory usage of numpy arrays

You can use array.nbytes for numpy arrays, for example:

>>> import numpy as np
>>> from sys import getsizeof
>>> a = [0] * 1024
>>> b = np.array(a)
>>> getsizeof(a)
8264
>>> b.nbytes
8192

How do I add a linker or compile flag in a CMake file?

You can also add linker flags to a specific target using the LINK_FLAGS property:

set_property(TARGET ${target} APPEND_STRING PROPERTY LINK_FLAGS " ${flag}")

If you want to propagate this change to other targets, you can create a dummy target to link to.

downloading all the files in a directory with cURL

Oh, I have just the thing you need!

$host = "ftp://example.com/dir/";
$savePath = "downloadedFiles";
if($check = isFtpUp($host)){

    echo $ip." -is alive<br />";

    $check = trim($check);
    $files = explode("\n",$check);

    foreach($files as $n=>$file){
        $file = trim($file);
        if($file !== "." || $file !== ".."){
            if(!saveFtpFile($file, $host.$file, $savePath)){
                // downloading failed. possible reason: $file is a folder name.
                // echo "Error downloading file.<br />";
            }else{
                echo "File: ".$file." - saved!<br />";
            }
        }else{
            // do nothing
        }
    }
}else{
    echo $ip." - is down.<br />";
}

and functions isFtpUp and saveFtpFile are as follows:

function isFtpUp($host){
$ch = curl_init();

curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $host);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERPWD, "anonymous:[email protected]");
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FTPLISTONLY, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 3);

$result = curl_exec($ch);

return $result;

}

function saveFtpFile( $targetFile = null, $sourceFile = null, $savePath){

// function settings
set_time_limit(60);
$timeout = 60;
$ftpuser = "anonymous";
$ftppassword = "[email protected]";
$savePath = "downloadedFiles"; // should exist!
$curl = curl_init();
$file = @fopen ($savePath.'/'.$targetFile, 'w');

if(!$file){
    return false;
}

curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_URL, $sourceFile);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_USERPWD, $ftpuser.':'.$ftppassword);

// curl settings

// curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_FAILONERROR, 1);
// curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, $timeout);
curl_setopt($curl, CURLOPT_FILE, $file);

$result = curl_exec($curl);

if(!$result){
    return false;
}

curl_close($curl);
fclose($file);

return $result;
}

EDIT:

it's a php script. save it as a .php file, put it on your webserver, change $ip to address(need not be ip) of ftp server you want to download files from, create a directory named downloadedFiles on the same directory as this file.

C# winforms combobox dynamic autocomplete

Here is my final solution. It works fine with a large amount of data. I use Timer to make sure the user want find current value. It looks like complex but it doesn't. Thanks to Max Lambertini for the idea.

        private bool _canUpdate = true;

        private bool _needUpdate = false;

        //If text has been changed then start timer
        //If the user doesn't change text while the timer runs then start search
        private void combobox1_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            if (_needUpdate)
            {
                if (_canUpdate)
                {
                    _canUpdate = false;
                    UpdateData();
                }
                else
                {
                    RestartTimer();
                }
            }
        }

        private void UpdateData()
        {
            if (combobox1.Text.Length > 1)
            {
                List<string> searchData = Search.GetData(combobox1.Text);
                HandleTextChanged(searchData);
            }
        }

        //If an item was selected don't start new search
        private void combobox1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            _needUpdate = false;
        }

        //Update data only when the user (not program) change something
        private void combobox1_TextUpdate(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            _needUpdate = true;
        }

        //While timer is running don't start search
        //timer1.Interval = 1500;
        private void RestartTimer()
        {
            timer1.Stop();
            _canUpdate = false;
            timer1.Start();
        }

        //Update data when timer stops
        private void timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
        {
            _canUpdate = true;
            timer1.Stop();
            UpdateData();
        }

        //Update combobox with new data
        private void HandleTextChanged(List<string> dataSource)
        {
            var text = combobox1.Text;

            if (dataSource.Count() > 0)
            {
                combobox1.DataSource = dataSource;

                var sText = combobox1.Items[0].ToString();
                combobox1.SelectionStart = text.Length;
                combobox1.SelectionLength = sText.Length - text.Length;
                combobox1.DroppedDown = true;

                return;
            }
            else
            {
                combobox1.DroppedDown = false;
                combobox1.SelectionStart = text.Length;
            }
        }

This solution isn't very cool. So if someone has another solution please share it with me.

Inserting data into a temporary table

All the above mentioned answers will almost fullfill the purpose. However, You need to drop the temp table after all the operation on it. You can follow-

INSERT INTO #TempTable (ID, Date, Name)
SELECT id, date, name
FROM physical_table;

IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb.dbo.#TempTable') IS NOT NULL
    DROP TABLE #TempTable;

Strict Standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference PHP 5.4

You should remove the & (ampersand) symbol, so that line 4 will look like this:

$conn = ADONewConnection($config['db_type']);

This is because ADONewConnection already returns an object by reference. As per documentation, assigning the result of a reference to object by reference results in an E_DEPRECATED message as of PHP 5.3.0

Font size relative to the user's screen resolution?

maxScreenWidth = 1080;
fontSize = getFontsByScreenWidth(fontSize, maxScreenWidth)

</script>

I hope this will help. I am using this formula for my Phase game.

How to secure an ASP.NET Web API

Have you tried DevDefined.OAuth?

I have used it to secure my WebApi with 2-Legged OAuth. I have also successfully tested it with PHP clients.

It's quite easy to add support for OAuth using this library. Here's how you can implement the provider for ASP.NET MVC Web API:

1) Get the source code of DevDefined.OAuth: https://github.com/bittercoder/DevDefined.OAuth - the newest version allows for OAuthContextBuilder extensibility.

2) Build the library and reference it in your Web API project.

3) Create a custom context builder to support building a context from HttpRequestMessage:

using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Collections.Specialized;
using System.Diagnostics.CodeAnalysis;
using System.Linq;
using System.Net.Http;
using System.Web;

using DevDefined.OAuth.Framework;

public class WebApiOAuthContextBuilder : OAuthContextBuilder
{
    public WebApiOAuthContextBuilder()
        : base(UriAdjuster)
    {
    }

    public IOAuthContext FromHttpRequest(HttpRequestMessage request)
    {
        var context = new OAuthContext
            {
                RawUri = this.CleanUri(request.RequestUri),
                Cookies = this.CollectCookies(request),
                Headers = ExtractHeaders(request),
                RequestMethod = request.Method.ToString(),
                QueryParameters = request.GetQueryNameValuePairs()
                    .ToNameValueCollection(),
            };

        if (request.Content != null)
        {
            var contentResult = request.Content.ReadAsByteArrayAsync();
            context.RawContent = contentResult.Result;

            try
            {
                // the following line can result in a NullReferenceException
                var contentType =
                    request.Content.Headers.ContentType.MediaType;
                context.RawContentType = contentType;

                if (contentType.ToLower()
                    .Contains("application/x-www-form-urlencoded"))
                {
                    var stringContentResult = request.Content
                        .ReadAsStringAsync();
                    context.FormEncodedParameters =
                        HttpUtility.ParseQueryString(stringContentResult.Result);
                }
            }
            catch (NullReferenceException)
            {
            }
        }

        this.ParseAuthorizationHeader(context.Headers, context);

        return context;
    }

    protected static NameValueCollection ExtractHeaders(
        HttpRequestMessage request)
    {
        var result = new NameValueCollection();

        foreach (var header in request.Headers)
        {
            var values = header.Value.ToArray();
            var value = string.Empty;

            if (values.Length > 0)
            {
                value = values[0];
            }

            result.Add(header.Key, value);
        }

        return result;
    }

    protected NameValueCollection CollectCookies(
        HttpRequestMessage request)
    {
        IEnumerable<string> values;

        if (!request.Headers.TryGetValues("Set-Cookie", out values))
        {
            return new NameValueCollection();
        }

        var header = values.FirstOrDefault();

        return this.CollectCookiesFromHeaderString(header);
    }

    /// <summary>
    /// Adjust the URI to match the RFC specification (no query string!!).
    /// </summary>
    /// <param name="uri">
    /// The original URI.
    /// </param>
    /// <returns>
    /// The adjusted URI.
    /// </returns>
    private static Uri UriAdjuster(Uri uri)
    {
        return
            new Uri(
                string.Format(
                    "{0}://{1}{2}{3}",
                    uri.Scheme,
                    uri.Host,
                    uri.IsDefaultPort ?
                        string.Empty :
                        string.Format(":{0}", uri.Port),
                    uri.AbsolutePath));
    }
}

4) Use this tutorial for creating an OAuth provider: http://code.google.com/p/devdefined-tools/wiki/OAuthProvider. In the last step (Accessing Protected Resource Example) you can use this code in your AuthorizationFilterAttribute attribute:

public override void OnAuthorization(HttpActionContext actionContext)
{
    // the only change I made is use the custom context builder from step 3:
    OAuthContext context =
        new WebApiOAuthContextBuilder().FromHttpRequest(actionContext.Request);

    try
    {
        provider.AccessProtectedResourceRequest(context);

        // do nothing here
    }
    catch (OAuthException authEx)
    {
        // the OAuthException's Report property is of the type "OAuthProblemReport", it's ToString()
        // implementation is overloaded to return a problem report string as per
        // the error reporting OAuth extension: http://wiki.oauth.net/ProblemReporting
        actionContext.Response = new HttpResponseMessage(HttpStatusCode.Unauthorized)
            {
               RequestMessage = request, ReasonPhrase = authEx.Report.ToString()
            };
    }
}

I have implemented my own provider so I haven't tested the above code (except of course the WebApiOAuthContextBuilder which I'm using in my provider) but it should work fine.

IntelliJ - show where errors are

I ran into the problem of not having set my sources root folder (project window--right click folder, mark directory as > sources root). If you don't set this IDEA doesn't parse the file.

How to stop mongo DB in one command

Kindly take advantage of the Task Manager provided by your OS for a quick and easy solution. Below is the screengrab from/for Windows 10. Right-click on the highlighted process and select stop. Select start, if already stopped.

enter image description here

Please Note: Internally the commands are doing the same thing which you have to do manually using a GUI (Task Manager), provided by Windows/your OS. Though, this approach to be used for study/practice purpose to get started and you won't be blocked due to this.

Git push error: Unable to unlink old (Permission denied)

I had the same issue and none of the solutions above worked for me. I deleted the offending folder. Then:

git reset --hard

Deleted any lingering files to clean up the git status, then did:

git pull

It finally worked.

NOTE: If the folder was, for instance, a public folder with build files, remember to rebuild the files

How do you get a query string on Flask?

If the request if GET and we passed some query parameters then,

fro`enter code here`m flask import request
@app.route('/')
@app.route('/data')
def data():
   if request.method == 'GET':
      # Get the parameters by key
      arg1 = request.args.get('arg1')
      arg2 = request.args.get('arg2')
      # Generate the query string
      query_string="?arg1={0}&arg2={1}".format(arg1, arg2)
      return render_template("data.html", query_string=query_string)

Error 415 Unsupported Media Type: POST not reaching REST if JSON, but it does if XML

Add Content-Type: application/json and Accept: application/json in REST Client header section

Nginx Different Domains on Same IP

Your "listen" directives are wrong. See this page: http://nginx.org/en/docs/http/server_names.html.

They should be

server {
    listen      80;
    server_name www.domain1.com;
    root /var/www/domain1;
}

server {
    listen       80;
    server_name www.domain2.com;
    root /var/www/domain2;
}

Note, I have only included the relevant lines. Everything else looked okay but I just deleted it for clarity. To test it you might want to try serving a text file from each server first before actually serving php. That's why I left the 'root' directive in there.

How to compile makefile using MinGW?

Excerpt from http://www.mingw.org/wiki/FAQ:

What's the difference between make and mingw32-make?

The "native" (i.e.: MSVCRT dependent) port of make is lacking in some functionality and has modified functionality due to the lack of POSIX on Win32. There also exists a version of make in the MSYS distribution that is dependent on the MSYS runtime. This port operates more as make was intended to operate and gives less headaches during execution. Based on this, the MinGW developers/maintainers/packagers decided it would be best to rename the native version so that both the "native" version and the MSYS version could be present at the same time without file name collision.

So,look into C:\MinGW\bin directory and first make sure what make executable, have you installed.(make.exe or mingw32-make.exe)

Before using MinGW, you should add C:\MinGW\bin; to the PATH environment variable using the instructions mentioned at http://www.mingw.org/wiki/Getting_Started/

Then cd to your directory, where you have the makefile and Try using mingw32-make.exe makefile.in or simply make.exe makefile.in(depending on executables in C:\MinGW\bin).

If you want a GUI based solution, install DevCPP IDE and then re-make.

Submit Button Image

You have to remove the borders and add a background image on the input.

.imgClass {
    background-image: url(path to image) no-repeat;
    width: 186px;
    height: 53px;
    border: none;
}

It should be good now, normally.

MVC Calling a view from a different controller

I'm not really sure if I got your question right. Maybe something like

public class CommentsController : Controller
{
    [HttpPost]
    public ActionResult WriteComment(CommentModel comment)
    {
        // Do the basic model validation and other stuff
        try
        {
            if (ModelState.IsValid )
            {
                 // Insert the model to database like:
                 db.Comments.Add(comment);
                 db.SaveChanges();

                 // Pass the comment's article id to the read action
                 return RedirectToAction("Read", "Articles", new {id = comment.ArticleID});
            }
        }
        catch ( Exception e )
        {
             throw e;
        }
        // Something went wrong
        return View(comment);

    }
}

public class ArticlesController : Controller
{
    // id is the id of the article
    public ActionResult Read(int id)
    {
        // Get the article from database by id
        var model = db.Articles.Find(id);
        // Return the view
        return View(model);
    }
}

SQL query to find Nth highest salary from a salary table

set @cnt=0;
select s.* from (SELECT  (@cnt := @cnt + 1) AS rank,a.* FROM one as a  order by a.salary DESC) as s WHERE s.rank='3';

=>this for 3rd highest salary. for nth replace 3 value. for example 5th highest:

set @cnt=0;
select s.* from (SELECT  (@cnt := @cnt + 1) AS rank,a.* FROM one as a  order by a.salary DESC) as s WHERE s.rank='5';

AngularJS + JQuery : How to get dynamic content working in angularjs

You need to call $compile on the HTML string before inserting it into the DOM so that angular gets a chance to perform the binding.

In your fiddle, it would look something like this.

$("#dynamicContent").html(
  $compile(
    "<button ng-click='count = count + 1' ng-init='count=0'>Increment</button><span>count: {{count}} </span>"
  )(scope)
);

Obviously, $compile must be injected into your controller for this to work.

Read more in the $compile documentation.
