Perhaps getting the Mac address is not the best approach for verifying a client's machine over the internet. Consider using a token instead which is stored in the client's browser by an administrator's login.

Therefore the client can only have this token if the administrator grants it to them through their browser. If the token is not present or valid then the client's machine is invalid.

You can no longer get the hardware MAC address of a android device. WifiInfo.getMacAddress() and BluetoothAdapter.getAddress() methods will return 02:00:00:00:00:00. This restriction was introduced in Android 6.0.

A very portable way is to parse the output of this command.

Provided ifconfig can be run as the current user (usually can) and awk is installed (it often is). This will give you the mac address of the machine.

I concur with all the previous answers that it would be a privacy/security vulnerability if you would be able to do this directly from Javascript. There are two things I can think of:

• Using Java (with a signed applet)
• Using signed Javascript, which in FF (and Mozilla in general) gets higher privileges than normal JS (but it is fairly complicated to set up)

Throwing an exception is the best way of dealing with constructor failure. You should particularly avoid half-constructing an object and then relying on users of your class to detect construction failure by testing flag variables of some sort.

On a related point, the fact that you have several different exception types for dealing with mutex errors worries me slightly. Inheritance is a great tool, but it can be over-used. In this case I would probably prefer a single MutexError exception, possibly containing an informative error message.

Depending on your use of Google Analytics data, if you want basic information (such as visits, UI interactions) you might be able to not include analytics.js at all, yet still collect data in GA.

gcc has become a widely used compiler. Its optimizations in general are not that good. Far better than the average programmer writing assembler, but for real performance, not that good. There are compilers that are simply incredible in the code they produce. So as a general answer there are going to be many places where you can go into the output of the compiler and tweak the assembler for performance, and/or simply re-write the routine from scratch.

the difference is that max-device-width is all screen's width and max-width means the space used by the browser to show the pages. But another important difference is the support of android browsers, in fact if u're going to use max-device-width this will work only in Opera, instead I'm sure that max-width will work for every kind of mobile browser (I had test it in Chrome, firefox and opera for ANDROID).

Lombok does not support that also indicated by making any @Value annotated class final (as you know by using @NonFinal).

1. BufferedReader will probably give you better performance (because Scanner is based on InputStreamReader, look sources). ups, for reading from files it uses nio. When I tested nio performance against BufferedReader performance for big files nio shows a bit better performance.

1. store the previous value of window.onload so your code can call a previous handler if present before or after your code executes

2. using the addEventListener approach (that of course Microsoft doesn't like and requires you to use another different name).

The second method will give you a bit more safety if another script wants to use window.onload and does it without thinking to cooperation but the main assumption for Javascript is that all the scripts will cooperate like you are trying to do.

Breakpoints have seemed to work and not-work on the versions of Eclipse I've used the last couple years. Currently I'm using Juno and just experienced breakpoints-not-working again. The solutions above, although good ones, didn't work in my case.

Here's what worked in my case:

1. deleted the project

2. check it back out from svn

3. import it into Eclipse again

4. run "mvn eclipse:eclipse"

Using LINQ with large lists (when costly to touch each element) AND if you can live with the possibility of duplicates:

For my use i had a list of 100.000 elements, and because of them being pulled from a DB I about halfed (or better) the time compared to a rnd on the whole list.

A new feature has been added to Laravel 5.3 and above version that will allow you to back out a single migration:

I encountered the problem too. The problem was due to the loading stream being disposed. But I did not dispose it, it was inside .Net framework. All I had to do was use:

image_instance is of type System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox! PictureBox's Load() disposes the stream which the image was loaded from, and I did not know that.

In python a list knows its length, so you can just do len(sys.argv) to get the number of elements in argv.

If you want to differentiate between empty and null strings, I would suggest using if len(string), otherwise, I'd suggest using simply if string as others have said. The caveat about strings full of whitespace still applies though, so don't forget to strip.

For getting the element in react you need to use ref and inside the function you can use the ReactDOM.findDOMNode method.

But what I like to do more is to call the ref right inside the event

One of my reasons for preferring a typeof check (namely, that undefined can be redefined) became irrelevant with the mass adoption of ECMAScript 5. In simple terms Dependency Injection vs Factory method implies push vs pull mechanism respectively.

Pull mechanism : class indirectly have dependency on Factory Method which in turn have dependency on concrete classes.

Push mechanism : Root component can be configured with all dependent components in a single location and thus promoting high maintenance and loose coupling.

With Factory method responsibility still lies with class (though indirectly) to create new object where as with dependency injection that responsibility is outsourced (at the cost of leaking abstraction though)

No way to do this that I know of, although I'm very curious to read if anyone has a good answer. I have been thinking about adding something like this to one of the apps my company builds, but have found no good way to do it.

The one thing I can think of (although not directly on point) is that I believe you can limit the total memory usage for a COM+ application in Windows. It would require the app to be written to run in COM+, of course, but it's the closest way I know of.

The working set stuff is good (Job Objects also control working sets), but that's not total memory usage, only real memory usage (paged in) at any one time. It may work for what you want, but afaik it doesn't limit total allocated memory.

Assets provide a way to include arbitrary files like text, xml, fonts, music, and video in your application. If you try to include these files as "resources", Android will process them into its resource system and you will not be able to get the raw data. Rails does not use the stdlib's ERB by default, it uses erubis. Sources: this dev's comment, ActionView's gemspec, accepted merge request I did while writing this.

There are behavior differences between them, in particular on how the hyphen operators %- and -% work.

Documentation is scarce, Where is Ruby's ERB format "officially" defined? so what follows are empirical conclusions.

These instructions are for windows machine with a single user profile for AWS. Make sure your ~/.aws/credentials file looks like this

This is the only thing that worked for me after countless hours trouble shooting.

The __del__ method, it will be called when the object is garbage collected. Note that it isn't necessarily guaranteed to be called though. The following code by itself won't necessarily do it:

del obj

The reason being that del just decrements the reference count by one. If something else has a reference to the object, __del__ won't get called.

There are a few caveats to using __del__ though. Generally, they usually just aren't very useful. It sounds to me more like you want to use a close method or maybe a with statement.

One other thing to note: __del__ methods can inhibit garbage collection if overused. In particular, a circular reference that has more than one object with a __del__ method won't get garbage collected. This is because the garbage collector doesn't know which one to call first. Yes, this is something that you should worry about. Check the length of your objects with nrow(). R can auto-replicate objects so that they're the same length if they differ, which means you might be performing operations on mismatched data.

In this case you have an obvious flaw in that your subtracting aggregated data from raw data. These will definitely be of different lengths. I suggest that you merge them as time series (using the dates), then locf(), then do your subtraction. Otherwise merge them by truncating the original dates to the same interval as the aggregated series. Just be very careful that you don't drop observations.

Lastly, as some general advice as you get started: look at the result of your computations to see if they make sense. You might even pull them into a spreadsheet and replicate the results.

There are better ways of getting the last row in column B than using a While loop, plenty of examples around here. Some are better than others but depend on what you're doing and what your worksheet structure looks like. I used one here which assumes that column B is ALL empty except the rows/records you're moving. If that's not the case, or if B1:B3 have some values in them, you'd need to modify or use another method. Or you could just use your loop, but I'd search for alternatives :)

I had a similar issue and tried a number of solutions suggested in this thread but found that the SelectionChanged Event was firing before the ComboBox item had actually updated to show the new selection (i.e. so it always gave the contents of the combobox prior to the change occurring).

In order to overcome this, I found that it was better to use the e parameter that is automatically passed to the event handler rather than trying to load the value directly from the combo box.

It can't be done, either manually or progamatically. This is because the color behind every slide master is white. If you set your background to 100% transparent, it will print as white.

The best you could do is design your slide with all the stuff you want, group everything you want to appear in the transparent image and then right-click/save as picture/.PNG (or you could do that with a macro as well). In this way you would retain transparency.

Here's an example of how to export all slides' shapes to seperate PNG files. Note:

1. This does not get any background shapes on the Slide Master.
2. Resulting PNGs will not be the same size as each other, depending on where the shapes are located on each slide.

3. This uses a depreciated function, namely Shape.Export. This means that while the function is still available up to PowerPoint 2010, it may be removed from PowerPoint VBA later.

To solve this problem make sure you find the path of composer.phar first

Note 2: moveTo or resizeTo will not work (Access denied) if the window you are opening is on another domain.

Array.forEach cannot be broken and using try...catch or hacky methods such as Array.every or Array.some will only make your code harder to understand. There are only two solutions of this problem:

1) use a old for loop: this will be the most compatible solution but can be very hard to read when used often in large blocks of code:

3) A lot of people would agree that neither the first or second option are good candidates. What is the relationship between ACID and database transaction?

In a relational database, every SQL statement must execute in the scope of a transaction.

Without defining the transaction boundaries explicitly, the database is going to use an implicit transaction which is wraps around every individual statement.

The implicit transaction begins before the statement is executed and end (commit or rollback) after the statement is executed. The implicit transaction mode is commonly known as auto-commit.

A transaction is a collection of read/write operations succeeding only if all contained operations succeed.

Inherently a transaction is characterized by four properties (commonly referred as ACID):

• Atomicity
• Consistency
• Isolation
• Durability

Does ACID give database transaction or is it the same thing?

For a relational database system, this is true because the SQL Standard specifies that a transaction should provide the ACID guarantees:

Atomicity

Atomicity takes individual operations and turns them into an all-or-nothing unit of work, succeeding if and only if all contained operations succeed.

A transaction might encapsulate a state change (unless it is a read-only one). A transaction must always leave the system in a consistent state, no matter how many concurrent transactions are interleaved at any given time.

Consistency

Consistency means that constraints are enforced for every committed transaction. That implies that all Keys, Data types, Checks and Trigger are successful and no constraint violation is triggered.

Isolation

Transactions require concurrency control mechanisms, and they guarantee correctness even when being interleaved. Isolation brings us the benefit of hiding uncommitted state changes from the outside world, as failing transactions shouldn’t ever corrupt the state of the system. Isolation is achieved through concurrency control using pessimistic or optimistic locking mechanisms.

Durability

A successful transaction must permanently change the state of a system, and before ending it, the state changes are recorded in a persisted transaction log. If our system is suddenly affected by a system crash or a power outage, then all unfinished committed transactions may be replayed.

Run this command:

If you are concerned about the file's content being served rather than its output. You can use a double extension like: file.inc.php. It then serves the same purpose of helpfulness and maintainability.

I normally have 2 php files for each page on my site:

1. One named welcome.php in the root folder, containing all of the HTML markup.
2. And another named welcome.inc.php in the inc folder, containing all PHP functions specific to the welcome.php page.

EDIT: Another benefit of using the double extention .inc.php would be that any IDE can still recognise the file as PHP code.

In Oracle, not null constraints are created automatically when not null is specified for a column. Likewise, they are dropped automatically when the column is changed to allow nulls.

Clarifying the revised question: This solution only applies to constraints created for "not null" columns. If you specify "Primary Key" or a check constraint in the column definition without naming it, you'll end up with a system-generated name for the constraint (and the index, for the primary key). In those cases, you'd need to know the name to drop it. The best advice there is to avoid the scenario by making sure you specify a name for all constraints other than "not null". If you find yourself in the situation where you need to drop one of these constraints generically, you'll probably need to resort to PL/SQL and the data-definition tables.

In the end I had to give the Windows Everyone group read access to that folder to get it to work properly.

I faced this problem a few days ago - the solution for me was to use .bind() to bind the required function to the dynamically created link.

Late answer, but currently the accepted one is at least suboptimal.

Using quotes is ALWAYS better than using any other characters to enclose %1.
Because when %1 contains spaces or special characters like &, the IF [%1] == simply stops with a syntax error.

But for the case that %1 contains quotes, like in myBatch.bat "my file.txt", a simple IF "%1" == "" would fail.

But as you can't know if quotes are used or not, there is the syntax %~1, this removes enclosing quotes when necessary.

Therefore, the code should look like

I had same issue after installing nvm-windows on top of existing Node installation. Solution was just to follow the instructions:

You should also delete the existing npm install location (e.g. "C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\npm") so that the nvm install location will be correctly used instead.

I just found this out by trying to see if my event was attached....

if you do :

it will return "null"

but if you do:

then it is "TRUE"

so I think that when you use "addEventListener" to add event handlers, the only way to access it is through "hasOwnProperty". I wish I knew why or how but alas, after researching, I haven't found an explanation.

For me the problem was my file encoding...I used powershell to write the xml file and this was not UTF-8 ... It seems that spring requires UTF8 because as soon as I changed the encoding (using notepad++) it works again without any errors

Now i Use in my powershellscript the following line to output the xml file in UTF-8: [IO.File]::WriteAllLines($fname_dataloader_xml_config_file, $dataloader_configfile)

instead of using the redirection operator > to create my file

Strings in Python are immutable meaning you cannot replace parts of them.

You can however create a new string that is modified. Mind that this is not semantically equivalent since other references to the old string will not be updated.

"Could not instantiate mail function" is PHPMailer's way of reporting that the call to mail() (in the Mail extension) failed. (So you're using the 'mail' mailer.)

You could try removing the @s before the calls to mail() in PHPMailer::MailSend and seeing what, if any, errors are being silently discarded.

Apart from the fine answers already given, you can also use ceilf(f) == f or floorf(f) == f. Both expressions return true if f is an integer. They also returnfalse for NaNs (NaNs always compare unequal) and true for ±infinity, and don't have the problem with overflowing the integer type used to hold the truncated result, because floorf()/ceilf() return floats.

Yes, you can modify state of objects inside your stream, but most often you should avoid modifying state of source of stream. From non-interference section of stream package documentation we can read that:

For most data sources, preventing interference means ensuring that the data source is not modified at all during the execution of the stream pipeline. The notable exception to this are streams whose sources are concurrent collections, which are specifically designed to handle concurrent modification. Concurrent stream sources are those whose Spliterator reports the CONCURRENT characteristic.

So this is OK

  List<User> users = getUsers();
  users.stream().forEach(u -> u.setProperty(value));

but this in most cases is not

  users.stream().forEach(u -> users.remove(u));

and may throw ConcurrentModificationException or even other unexpected exceptions like NPE:

It didn't. Your compiler did, but there's still a debug symbol for the original variable name.

IntelliJ IDEA does not have an action to add imports. Rather it has the ability to do such as you type. If you enable the "Add unambiguous imports on the fly" in Settings > Editor > General > Auto Import, IntelliJ IDEA will add them as you type without the need for any shortcuts. You can also add classes and packages to exclude from auto importing to make a class you use heavily, that clashes with other classes of the same name, unambiguous.

For classes that are ambiguous (or is you prefer to have the "Add unambiguous imports on the fly" option turned off), just type the name of the class (just the name is OK, no need to fully qualify). Use code completion and select the particular class you want:

Notice the fully qualified names to the right. When I select the one I want and hit enter, IDEA will automatically add the import statement. This works the same if I was typing the name of a constructor. For static methods, you can even just keep typing the method you want. In the following screenshot, no "StringUtils" class is imported yet.

Alternatively, type the class name and then hit Alt+Enter or ?+Enter to "Show intention actions and quick-fixes" and then select the import option.

Although I've never used it, I think the Eclipse Code Formatter third party plug-in will do what you want. It lists "emulates Eclipse's imports optimizing" as a feature. See its instructions for more information. But in the end, I suspect you'll find the built in IDEA features work fine once you get use to their paradigm. In general, IDEA uses a "develop by intentions" concept. So rather than interrupting my development work to add an import statement, I just type the class I want (my intention) and IDEA automatically adds the import statement for the class for me.

The purpose of splitting it up into that many functions is to let you stream large datasets.

For example, if you're hashing a 10GB file and it doesn't fit into ram, here's how you would go about doing it. You would read the file in smaller chunks and call MD5Update on them.

It has to do with the Normal Form for the SQL language. IF statements can, by definition, only take a single SQL statement. However, there is a special kind of SQL statement which can contain multiple SQL statements, the BEGIN-END block.

If you omit the BEGIN-END block, your SQL will run fine, but it will only execute the first statement as part of the IF.

Basically, this:

IF @Term = 3
    INSERT INTO @Classes
    SELECT              
        XXXXXX  
    FROM XXXX blah blah blah

is equivalent to the same thing with the BEGIN-END block, because you are only executing a single statement. However, for the same reason that not including the curly-braces on an IF statement in a C-like language is a bad idea, it is always preferable to use BEGIN and END.

All of these are kinds of indices.

primary: must be unique, is an index, is (likely) the physical index, can be only one per table.

unique: as it says. You can't have more than one row with a tuple of this value. Note that since a unique key can be over more than one column, this doesn't necessarily mean that each individual column in the index is unique, but that each combination of values across these columns is unique.

index: if it's not primary or unique, it doesn't constrain values inserted into the table, but it does allow them to be looked up more efficiently.

fulltext: a more specialized form of indexing that allows full text search. Think of it as (essentially) creating an "index" for each "word" in the specified column.

It's month 1, so you're getting an expected value. you'll have to zeropad the month (1 -> 01), as per this answer: How do I convert an int to a zero padded string in T-SQL?

Variables in .NET are either reference types or value types. Value types are primitives such as integers and booleans or structures (and can be identified because they inherit from System.ValueType). Boolean variables, when declared, have a default value:

If you try to access a member of a class instance using a null reference then you get a System.NullReferenceException. Which is the same as Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This is a very common error and can occur because of all kinds of reasons. The root cause really depends on the specific scenario that you've encountered.

If you are using an API or invoking methods that may return null then it's important to handle this gracefully. The main method above can be modified in such a way that the NullReferenceException should never be seen by a user:

1. Installing OpenCV 2.4.3

First, get OpenCV 2.4.3 from sourceforge.net. Its a self-extracting so just double click to start the installation. Install it in a directory, say C:\.

Wait until all files get extracted. It will create a new directory C:\opencv which contains OpenCV header files, libraries, code samples, etc.

Now you need to add the directory C:\opencv\build\x86\vc10\bin to your system PATH. This directory contains OpenCV DLLs required for running your code.

Open Control Panel → System → Advanced system settings → Advanced Tab → Environment variables...

On the System Variables section, select Path (1), Edit (2), and type C:\opencv\build\x86\vc10\bin; (3), then click Ok.

On some computers, you may need to restart your computer for the system to recognize the environment path variables.

This will completes the OpenCV 2.4.3 installation on your computer.

2. Create a new project and set up Visual C++

Open Visual C++ and select File → New → Project... → Visual C++ → Empty Project. Give a name for your project (e.g: cvtest) and set the project location (e.g: c:\projects).

Click Ok. Visual C++ will create an empty project.

Make sure that "Debug" is selected in the solution configuration combobox. Right-click cvtest and select Properties → VC++ Directories.

Select Include Directories to add a new entry and type C:\opencv\build\include.

Click Ok to close the dialog.

Back to the Property dialog, select Library Directories to add a new entry and type C:\opencv\build\x86\vc10\lib.

Click Ok to close the dialog.

Back to the property dialog, select Linker → Input → Additional Dependencies to add new entries. On the popup dialog, type the files below:

It appears the default setting for Adobe Reader X is for the toolbars not to be shown by default unless they are explicitly turned on by the user. And even when I turn them back on during a session, they don't show up automatically next time. As such, I suspect you have a preference set contrary to the default.

It makes no sense to return values from a callback. Instead, do the "foo()" work you want to do inside your callback.

Asynchronous callbacks are invoked by the browser or by some framework like the Google geocoding library when events happen. There's no place for returned values to go. A callback function can return a value, in other words, but the code that calls the function won't pay attention to the return value.

Did find the answer on my own. My problem was, that i use two temporary tables for a join and create the second one out of the first one. But the Index was not copied during creation...

Placing @EdChum's very nice answer into a function count_unique_index. The unique method only works on pandas series, not on data frames. The function below reproduces the behavior of the unique function in R:

unique returns a vector, data frame or array like x but with duplicate elements/rows removed.

It's not a matter of better, just different.

When you synchronize a method, you are effectively synchronizing to the object itself. In the case of a static method, you're synchronizing to the class of the object. So the following two pieces of code execute the same way:

If you want to control synchronization to a specific object, or you only want part of a method to be synchronized to the object, then specify a synchronized block. If you use the synchronized keyword on the method declaration, it will synchronize the whole method to the object or class.

You repository is bare, i.e. it does not have a working tree attached to it. You can clone it locally to create a working tree for it, or you could use one of several other options to tell Git where the working tree is, e.g. the --work-tree option for single commands, or the GIT_WORK_TREE environment variable. There is also the core.worktree configuration option but it will not work in a bare repository (check the man page for what it does).

get() returned more than one topic -- it returned 2!

The above error indicatess that you have more than one record in the DB related to the specific parameter you passed while querying using get() such as

Model.objects.get(field_name=some_param)

To avoid this kind of error in the future, you always need to do query as per your schema design. In your case you designed a table with a many-to-many relationship so obviously there will be multiple records for that field and that is the reason you are getting the above error.

So instead of using get() you should use filter() which will return multiple records. Such as

The proper way would be to use $_SERVER["PHP_SELF"] (in conjunction with htmlspecialchars to avoid possible exploits). You can also just skip the action= part empty, which is not W3C valid, but currently works in most (all?) browsers - the default is to submit to self if it's empty.

Here is an example form that takes a name and email, and then displays the values you have entered upon submit:

To anyone who had been wonderstruck about some files being easily uploaded and some not, it could be a size issue. I'm sharing this as I was stuck with my PHP code not uploading large files and I kept assuming it wasn't uploading any Excel files. So, if you are using PHP and you want to increase the file upload limit, go to the php.ini file and make the following modifications:

• upload_max_filesize = 2M

to be changed to

• upload_max_filesize = 10M

• post_max_size = 10M

or the size required. Then restart the Apache server and the upload will start magically working. Hope this will be of help to someone.

I've used OAuth a few times, and also used some other methods (BASIC/DIGEST). I wholeheartedly suggest OAuth. The following link is the best tutorial I've seen on using OAuth:

This only does 1 lookup instead of 2. However, except clauses are expensive, so if you end up hitting the except clause frequently, this will probably be less efficient than what you already have.

One of the most beautiful ways in my opinion (since it is now commonly available) is using behaviours.

To do a BEFORE UPDATE in SQL Server I use a trick. I do a false update of the record (UPDATE Table SET Field = Field), in such way I get the previous image of the record.

This is the benchmark I have run after finding some articles around the net.

With 2.4.0 the winner is re.match?(str) (as suggested by @wiktor-stribizew), on previous versions, re =~ str seems to be fastest, although str =~ re is almost as fast.

The problem is that there is an in-browser print dialogue within the popup window. If you call window.close() immediately then the dialogue is not seen by the user. The user needs to click "Print" within the dialogue. This is not the same as on other browsers where the print dialogue is part of the OS, and blocks the window.close() until dismissed - on Chrome, it's part of Chrome, not the OS.

This is the code I used, in a little popup window that is created by the parent window:

Since 0.14 this method won't work, so I built a static component that will make this simple for you guys. You can just paste this in or reference it as a component.

This should be re-useable and it will allow you to add additional styles and properties as-if it were a standard <Image /> component

You can replace your old dictionary with a defaultdict:

The "trick" here is that a defaultdict can be initialized with another dict. This means that you preserve the existing values in your normal dict:

Some may ask why not use display: inline-block? For simple things it is fine, but if you got complex code within the blocks, the layout may not be correctly centered anymore. Flexbox is more stable than float left.

Zapping - you can use this javascript lib; DefiantJS. There is no need to restructure JSON data into objects to ease searching. Instead, you can search the JSON structure with an XPath expression like this:
