Just listen to what the warning is telling you:

Reshape your data either X.reshape(-1, 1) if your data has a single feature/column and X.reshape(1, -1) if it contains a single sample.

For your example type(if you have more than one feature/column):

For one feature/column:

temp = temp.reshape(-1,1)

Creating lowpass filter in SciPy - understanding methods and units

A few comments:

  • The Nyquist frequency is half the sampling rate.
  • You are working with regularly sampled data, so you want a digital filter, not an analog filter. This means you should not use analog=True in the call to butter, and you should use scipy.signal.freqz (not freqs) to generate the frequency response.
  • One goal of those short utility functions is to allow you to leave all your frequencies expressed in Hz. You shouldn't have to convert to rad/sec. As long as you express your frequencies with consistent units, the scaling in the utility functions takes care of the normalization for you.

Here's my modified version of your script, followed by the plot that it generates.

Using native localStorage (old reply from 2011)

Content scripts run in the context of webpages, not extension pages. Therefore, if you're accessing localStorage from your contentscript, it will be the storage from that webpage, not the extension page storage.

Now, to let your content script to read your extension storage (where you set them from your options page), you need to use extension message passing.

The first thing you do is tell your content script to send a request to your extension to fetch some data, and that data can be your extension localStorage:

The order of execution of ng-click and ng-model is ambiguous since they do not define clear priorities. Instead you should use ng-change or a $watch on the $scope to ensure that you obtain the correct values of the model variable.

Receive JSON POST with PHP

If you already have your parameters set like $_POST['eg'] for example and you don't wish to change it, simply do it like this:

Per manual, you don't necessary want to use -password option.

Let's say mykey.key has a password and your want to protect iphone-dev.p12 with another password, this is what you'd use:

Regex (grep) for multi-line search needed

Without the need to install the grep variant pcregrep, you can do multiline search with grep.

$ grep -Pzo "(?s)^(\s*)\N*main.*?{.*?^\1}" *.c

Explanation:

-P activate perl-regexp for grep (a powerful extension of regular expressions)

-z suppress newline at the end of line, substituting it for null character. That is, grep knows where end of line is, but sees the input as one big line.

-o print only matching. Because we're using -z, the whole file is like a single big line, so if there is a match, the entire file would be printed; this way it won't do that.

In regexp:

(?s) activate PCRE_DOTALL, which means that . finds any character or newline

\N find anything except newline, even with PCRE_DOTALL activated

.*? find . in non-greedy mode, that is, stops as soon as possible.

^ find start of line

\1 backreference to the first group (\s*). This is a try to find the same indentation of method.

As you can imagine, this search prints the main method in a C (*.c) source file.

I disagree that .form-group should be within .col-*-n elements. In my experience, all the appropriate padding happens automatically when you use .form-group like .row within a form.

Using .row within the form fails in edsioufi's fiddle because .row uses negative left and right margins thereby drawing the horizontal bounds of the divs classed .row beyond the bounds of the containing fieldsets.

Here is code not using the percentage in the keyframes. Because you used percentages the animation does nothing a long time.

  • 0% translate 0px
  • 20% translate 0px
  • etc.

How does this example work:

  1. We set an animation. This is a short hand for animation properties.
  2. We immediately start the animation since we use from and to in the keyframes. from is = 0% and to is = 100%
  3. We can now control how fast it will bounce by setting the animation time: animation: bounce 1s infinite alternate; the 1s is how long the animation will last.

However if you do want to round the double value and get a double value result, you can use org.apache.commons.math3.util.Precision.round(..) as mentioned above. The implementation uses BigDecimal, is slow and creates garbage.

A similar but fast and garbage-free method is provided by the DoubleRounder utility in the decimal4j library:

Update: As @iaforek pointed out DoubleRounder sometimes returns counterintuitive results. The reason is that it performs mathematically correct rounding. For instance DoubleRounder.round(256.025d, 2) will be rounded down to 256.02 because the double value represented as 256.025d is somewhat smaller than the rational value 256.025 and hence will be rounded down.

Notes:

  • This behaviour is very similar to that of the BigDecimal(double) constructor (but not to valueOf(double) which uses the string constructor).
  • The problem can be circumvented with a double rounding step to a higher precision first, but it is complicated and I am not going into the details here

For those reasons and everything mentioned above in this post I cannot recommend to use DoubleRounder.

Set the default password in the .pgpass file. If the server does not save the password, it is because it is not set in the .pgpass file, or the permissions are open and the file is therefore ignored.

Read more about the password file here.

Also, be sure to check the permissions: on *nix systems the permissions on .pgpass must disallow any access to world or group; achieve this by the command chmod 0600 ~/.pgpass. If the permissions are less strict than this, the file will be ignored.

Have you tried logging-in using PGAdmin? You can save the password there, and modify the pgpass file.

long long int vs. long int vs. int64_t in C++

This is a good question or problem, but I suspect the answer is NO.

In both 32-bit compile with GCC (and with 32- and 64-bit MSVC), the output of the program will be:

32-bit Linux uses the ILP32 data model. Integers, longs and pointers are 32-bit. The 64-bit type is a long long.

Microsoft documents the ranges at Data Type Ranges. The say the long long is equivalent to __int64.

However, the program resulting from a 64-bit GCC compile will output:

long long int: 0

64-bit Linux uses the LP64 data model. Longs are 64-bit and long long are 64-bit. As with 32-bit, Microsoft documents the ranges at Data Type Ranges and long long is still __int64.

There's a ILP64 data model where everything is 64-bit. You have to do some extra work to get a definition for your word32 type. Also see papers like 64-Bit Programming Models: Why LP64?


But this is horribly hackish and does not scale well (actual functions of substance, uint64_t, etc)...

Yeah, it gets even better. GCC mixes and matches declarations that are supposed to take 64 bit types, so its easy to get into trouble even though you follow a particular data model. For example, the following causes a compile error and tells you to use -fpermissive:

But if you can't get a server-side script to work, how can you then read this environment variable? One solution is to set a header:

The value accepts format specifiers, including the %{NAME}e specifier for environment variables (don't forget the lowercase e). Sometimes, you'll need to add the REDIRECT_ prefix, but I haven't worked out when the prefix gets added and when it doesn't.

When working with a ViewBag in a .cshtml file, you must use @Html.Raw otherwise your data, after being unescaped by the ConfigurationManager, will become re-escaped once again. Use Html.Raw() to prevent this from occurring.

MVC4 StyleBundle not resolving images

I had this problem with bundles having incorrect path's to images and CssRewriteUrlTransform not resolving relative parent paths .. correctly (there was also problem with external resources like webfonts). That's why I wrote this custom transform (appears to do all of the above correctly):

If the html is too big and you don't want to repeat it, then the logic would better be placed in the view. You set this variable and pass it to the template's context:

and then just use {{ p }} in the template.

Those answers aren't bad, but they are limited in that they don't actually allow you to enter data. We had a similar problem where we were using barcode readers to enter data into a field, but we wanted to suppress the keyboard.

When you click in the <input> box, it simulates a cursor in that box but really puts the focus on an empty <select> box. Select boxes naturally allow for keypresses to support jumping to an element in the list so it was only a matter of rerouting the keypress to the original input and offsetting the simulated cursor.

This won't work for backspace, delete, etc... but we didn't need those. You could probably use jQuery's trigger to send the keyboard event directly to another input box somewhere but we didn't need to bother with that so I didn't do it.

This is a slightly modified solution. The Process will be killed when it was idle for at least 1 second. Maybe you should add a timeof of X seconds and call the function from a separate thread.

Testing the whole thing.

Here /Users/Admin is the location of dump.rdb that is read from server and therefore this is the file that has to be replaced.

The ECMAscript standard does not specify which sort algorithm is to be used. Indeed, different browsers feature different sort algorithms. For example, Mozilla/Firefox's sort() is not stable (in the sorting sense of the word) when sorting a map. IE's sort() is stable.

If you only need the date and not the time use:

between subdate(curdate(), 30)and curdate();

Since curdate() omits the time component, it's potentially faster than now() and more "semantically correct" in cases where you're only interested in the date.

Also, subdate()'s 2-arity overload is potentially faster than using interval. interval is meant to be for cases when you need a non-day component.

A printer doesn't understand pixels, it understand dots (pt in CSS). The best solution is to write an extra CSS for printing, with all of its measures in dots.

Then, in your HTML code, in head section, put:

As mentioned in previous answers, both serve almost same purpose. Personally I like git rebase and merge request (as in gitlab). It takes burden off of the reviewer/maintainer, making sure that while adding merge request, the feature branch includes all of the latest commits done on main branch after feature branch is created. Using variable in SQL LIKE statement

But in my opinion one important thing.

The "char(number)" it's lenght of variable.

If we've got table with "Names" like for example [Test1..Test200] and we declare char(5) in SELECT like:

the result will be only - "Test1"! (char(5) - 5 chars in lenght; Test11 is 6 )

The rest of potential interested data like [Test11..Test200] will not be returned in the result.

It's ok if we want to limit the SELECT by this way. But if it's not intentional way of doing it could return incorrect results from planned ( Like "all Names begining with Test1..." ).

In my opinion if we don't know the precise lenght of a SELECTed value, a better solution could be something like this one:

Working copy XXX locked and cleanup failed in SVN

In my case I solved it by manually deleting a record in the SQLite ".svn\wc" file lock record in the WC_LOCK table.

I opened the "WC" file with SQLite editor and executed

Maybe. List comprehensions are not inherently computationally efficient. It is still running in linear time.

From my personal experience: I have significantly reduced computation time when dealing with large data sets by replacing list comprehensions (specifically nested ones) with for-loop/list-appending type structures you have above. In this application I doubt you will notice a difference.

A little mathematical logic theory here:

"NOT a AND NOT b" is the same as "NOT (a OR b)", so:

"a NOT -1 AND b NOT -1" is equivalent of "NOT (a is -1 OR b is -1)", which is opposite (Complement) of "(a is -1 OR b is -1)".

So if you want exact opposite result, df1 and df2 should be as below:

curl Failed to connect to localhost port 80

If anyone else comes across this and the accepted answer doesn't work (it didn't for me), check to see if you need to specify a port other than 80. In my case, I was running a rails server at localhost:3000 and was just using curl http://localhost, which was hitting port 80.

Changing the command to curl http://localhost:3000 is what worked in my case.

Establish a VPN connection in cmd

I know this is a very old thread but I was looking for a solution to the same problem and I came across this before eventually finding the answer and I wanted to just post it here so somebody else in my shoes would have a shorter trek across the internet.

****Note that you probably have to run cmd.exe as an administrator for this to work**

So here we go, open up the prompt (as an adminstrator) and go to your System32 directory. Then run

C:\Windows\System32>cd ras

Now you'll be in the ras directory. Now it's time to create a temporary file with our connection info that we will then append onto the rasphone.pbk file that will allow us to use the rasdial command.

So to create our temp file run:

C:\Windows\System32\ras>copy con temp.txt

Now it will let you type the contents of the file, which should look like this:

Port=VPN2-0
Device=WAN Miniport (IKEv2)
DEVICE=vpn
PhoneNumber=vpn.server.address.com

So replace CONNECTION NAME and vpn.server.address.com with the desired connection name and the vpn server address you want.

Make a new line and press Ctrl+Z to finish and save.

Now we will append this onto the rasphone.pbk file that may or may not exist depending on if you already have network connections configured or not. To do this we will run the following command:

C:\Windows\System32\ras>type temp.txt >> rasphone.pbk

I'd rather not rely on swap() or setting the queue to a newly created queue object, because the queue elements are not properly destroyed. Calling pop()invokes the destructor for the respective element object. This might not be an issue in <int> queues but might very well have side effects on queues containing objects.

Therefore a loop with while(!queue.empty()) queue.pop();seems unfortunately to be the most efficient solution at least for queues containing objects if you want to prevent possible side effects.

OOP vs Functional Programming vs Procedural

These paradigms don't have to be mutually exclusive. If you look at python, it supports functions and classes, but at the same time, everything is an object, including functions. You can mix and match functional/oop/procedural style all in one piece of code.

What I mean is, in functional languages (at least in Haskell, the only one I studied) there are no statements! functions are only allowed one expression inside them!! BUT, functions are first-class citizens, you can pass them around as parameters, along with a bunch of other abilities. They can do powerful things with few lines of code.

While in a procedural language like C, the only way you can pass functions around is by using function pointers, and that alone doesn't enable many powerful tasks.

In python, a function is a first-class citizen, but it can contain arbitrary number of statements. So you can have a function that contains procedural code, but you can pass it around just like functional languages.

Same goes for OOP. A language like Java doesn't allow you to write procedures/functions outside of a class. The only way to pass a function around is to wrap it in an object that implements that function, and then pass that object around.

In Python, you don't have this restriction.

The ARM architecture was originally designed for Acorn personal computers (See Acorn Archimedes, circa 1987, and RiscPC), which were just as much keyboard-based personal computers as were x86 based IBM PC models. Only later ARM implementations were primarily targeted at the mobile and embedded market segment.

Originally, simple RISC CPUs of roughly equivalent performance could be designed by much smaller engineering teams (see Berkeley RISC) than those working on the x86 development at Intel.

But, nowadays, the fastest ARM chips have very complex multi-issue out-of-order instruction dispatch units designed by large engineering teams, and x86 cores may have something like a RISC core fed by an instruction translation unit.

So, any current differences between the two architectures are more related to the specific market needs of the product niches that the development teams are targeting. (Random opinion: ARM probably makes more in license fees from embedded applications that tend to be far more power and cost constrained. In the latter, as it in mentioned in the original post, two common problems can arise :

  • You have a third party library which is linked differently to your application.

I've struggled with this myself and realized that the offset is not enough. It does not give you any information about daylight saving for example. I ended up writing some code to map to zoneinfo database keys.

Moving on to the best practices of OOPS, @MrTrick's answer must be marked as correct, although my answer provides a hacked solution its not the best method.

Simply iterate its using {}

Example:

$videos{0}->id

This way your object is not destroyed and you can easily iterate through object.

For PHP 5.6 and below use this

$videos{0}['id']

Both array() and the stdClass objects can be accessed using the current() key() next() prev() reset() end() functions.

So, if your object looks like

Then you can just do;

JSON and escaping characters

This is not a bug in either implementation. There is no requirement to escape U+00B0. To quote the RFC:

2.5. Strings

The representation of strings is similar to conventions used in the C family of programming languages. A string begins and ends with quotation marks. All Unicode characters may be placed within the quotation marks except for the characters that must be escaped: quotation mark, reverse solidus, and the control characters (U+0000 through U+001F).

Any character may be escaped.

Escaping everything inflates the size of the data (all code points can be represented in four or fewer bytes in all Unicode transformation formats; whereas encoding them all makes them six or twelve bytes).

It is more likely that you have a text transcoding bug somewhere in your code and escaping everything in the ASCII subset masks the problem. It is a requirement of the JSON spec that all data use a Unicode encoding.

Why does my JavaScript code receive a "No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource" error, while Postman does not?

In the below investigation as API, I use http://example.com instead of http://myApiUrl/login from your question, because this first one working.

I assume that your page is on http://my-site.local:8088.

The reason why you see different results is that Postman:

  • set header Host=example.com (your API)
  • NOT set header Origin

This is similar to browsers' way of sending requests when the site and API has the same domain (browsers also set the header item Referer=http://my-site.local:8088, however I don't see it in Postman). When Origin header is not set, usually servers allow such requests by default.

This is the standard way how Postman sends requests. But a browser sends requests differently when your site and API have different domains, and then CORS occurs and the browser automatically:

  • sets header Host=example.com (yours as API)
  • sets header Origin=http://my-site.local:8088 (your site)

(The header Referer has the same value as Origin). And now in Chrome's Console & Networks tab you will see:

When you have Host != Origin this is CORS, and when the server detects such a request, it usually blocks it by default.

Origin=null is set when you open HTML content from a local directory, and it sends a request. When you start tomcat independently and type http://localhost:8080/, tomcat show its default page (tomcat has its default page at TOMCAT_ROOT_DIRECTORY\webapps\ROOT\index.jsp).

How to choose the right bean scope?

Introduction

It represents the scope (the lifetime) of the bean. This is easier to understand if you are familiar with "under the covers" working of a basic servlet web application: How do servlets work? Instantiation, sessions, shared variables and multithreading.


@Request/View/Flow/Session/ApplicationScoped

A @RequestScoped bean lives as long as a single HTTP request-response cycle (note that an Ajax request counts as a single HTTP request too). A @ViewScoped bean lives as long as you're interacting with the same JSF view by postbacks which call action methods returning null/void without any navigation/redirect. A @FlowScoped bean lives as long as you're navigating through the specified collection of views registered in the flow configuration file. A @SessionScoped bean lives as long as the established HTTP session. An @ApplicationScoped bean lives as long as the web application runs. Note that the CDI @Model is basically a stereotype for @Named @RequestScoped, so same rules apply.

Which scope to choose depends solely on the data (the state) the bean holds and represents. Use @RequestScoped for simple and non-ajax forms/presentations. Use @ViewScoped for rich ajax-enabled dynamic views (ajaxbased validation, rendering, dialogs, etc). Use @FlowScoped for the "wizard" ("questionnaire") pattern of collecting input data spread over multiple pages. Use @SessionScoped for client specific data, such as the logged-in user and user preferences (language, etc). Use @ApplicationScoped for application wide data/constants, such as dropdown lists which are the same for everyone, or managed beans without any instance variables and having only methods.

Abusing an @ApplicationScoped bean for session/view/request scoped data would make it to be shared among all users, so anyone else can see each other's data which is just plain wrong. Abusing a @SessionScoped bean for view/request scoped data would make it to be shared among all tabs/windows in a single browser session, so the enduser may experience inconsitenties when interacting with every view after switching between tabs which is bad for user experience. Abusing a @RequestScoped bean for view scoped data would make view scoped data to be reinitialized to default on every single (ajax) postback, causing possibly non-working forms (see also points 4 and 5 here). Abusing a @ViewScoped bean for request, session or application scoped data, and abusing a @SessionScoped bean for application scoped data doesn't affect the client, but it unnecessarily occupies server memory and is plain inefficient.

Note that the scope should rather not be chosen based on performance implications, unless you really have a low memory footprint and want to go completely stateless; you'd need to use exclusively @RequestScoped beans and fiddle with request parameters to maintain the client's state. Also note that when you have a single JSF page with differently scoped data, then it's perfectly valid to put them in separate backing beans in a scope matching the data's scope. The beans can just access each other via @ManagedProperty in case of JSF managed beans or @Inject in case of CDI managed beans.

@CustomScoped/NoneScoped/Dependent

It's not mentioned in your question, but (legacy) JSF also supports @CustomScoped and @NoneScoped, which are rarely used in real world. The @CustomScoped must refer a custom Map<K, Bean> implementation in some broader scope which has overridden Map#put() and/or Map#get() in order to have more fine grained control over bean creation and/or destroy.

The JSF @NoneScoped and CDI @Dependent basically lives as long as a single EL-evaluation on the bean. Imagine a login form with two input fields referring a bean property and a command button referring a bean action, thus with in total three EL expressions, then effectively three instances will be created. One with the username set, one with the password set and one on which the action is invoked. You normally want to use this scope only on beans which should live as long as the bean where it's being injected. So if a @NoneScoped or @Dependent is injected in a @SessionScoped, then it will live as long as the @SessionScoped bean.

Flash scope

As last, JSF also supports the flash scope. It is backed by a short living cookie which is associated with a data entry in the session scope. Before the redirect, a cookie will be set on the HTTP response with a value which is uniquely associated with the data entry in the session scope. After the redirect, the presence of the flash scope cookie will be checked and the data entry associated with the cookie will be removed from the session scope and be put in the request scope of the redirected request. Finally the cookie will be removed from the HTTP response. This way the redirected request has access to request scoped data which was been prepared in the initial request.

This is actually not available as a managed bean scope, i.e. there's no such thing as @FlashScoped. The flash scope is only available as a map via ExternalContext#getFlash() in managed beans and #{flash} in EL.

I wasn't quite sure as to what the question was, but am under the impression that a copy of the message is to be sent to the person who filled in the form.

Here is a tested/working copy of an HTML form and PHP handler. This uses the PHP mail() function.

The PHP handler will also send a copy of the message to the person who filled in the form.

You can use two forward slashes // in front of a line of code if you're not going to use it.

For example: // $subject2 = "Copy of your form submission"; will not execute.

You might try having that delete job operate by first inserting the key of each row to be deleted into a temp table like this pseudocode

delete from onlineusers where userid in (select userid from deletetemp);

Breaking it up like this is less efficient but it avoids the need to hold a key-range lock during the delete.

Also, modify your select queries to add a where clause excluding rows older than 900 seconds. This avoids the dependency on the cron job and allows you to reschedule it to run less often.

Theory about the deadlocks: I don't have a lot of background in MySQL but here goes... The delete is going to hold a key-range lock for datetime, to prevent rows matching its where clause from being added in the middle of the transaction, and as it finds rows to delete it will attempt to acquire a lock on each page it is modifying. The insert is going to acquire a lock on the page it is inserting into, and then attempt to acquire the key lock. Normally the insert will wait patiently for that key lock to open up but this will deadlock if the delete tries to lock the same page the insert is using because thedelete needs that page lock and the insert needs that key lock. This doesn't seem right for inserts though, the delete and insert are using datetime ranges that don't overlap so maybe something else is going on.

The problem is not with the splitting but rather with the WriteLine. A \n in a string printed with WriteLine will produce an "extra" line.

Performance

Both extensions offer the ability to use transactions. Executing prepared statement with transactions greatly improves performance, but it's still not as good as a single SQL query. However, the difference is so negligible that for the sake of conciseness and clean code it is perfectly acceptable to execute prepared statements multiple times. If you need a faster option to insert many records into the database at once, then chances are that PHP is not the right tool.

All you are really having to do is define your own __init__ - that really is all that there is too it.

Another example (little more complex):

As this is an old question, and Django techniques must have changed significantly since, this answer reflects Django version 1.4, and is most likely applicable for v 1.5.

Django by default uses relational databases; you should make use of 'em. Map friendships to database relations (foreign key constraints) with the use of ManyToManyField. Doing so allows you to use RelatedManagers for friendlists, which use smart querysets. You can use all available methods such as filter or values_list.

Using ManyToManyField relations and properties:

For those who Googled "disable a button" but may have more nuanced use cases:

Disable with visual effect: As others have said, this will prevent the button from being pressed and the system will automatically make it look disabled:

Disable without visual effect: Are you using a button in a case where it should look normal but not behave likes button by reacting to touches? Try this!

Remove: This will remove the view entirely:

$array = (array) $object;

does a shallow conversion ($object->innerObject = new stdClass() remains an object) and converting back and forth using json works but it's not a good idea if performance is an issue.
