What is pipe() function in Angular

Don't get confused with the concepts of Angular and RxJS

We have pipes concept in Angular and pipe() function in RxJS.

1) Pipes in Angular: A pipe takes in data as input and transforms it to the desired output
https://angular.io/guide/pipes

2) pipe() function in RxJS: You can use pipes to link operators together. Pipes let you combine multiple functions into a single function.

The pipe() function takes as its arguments the functions you want to combine, and returns a new function that, when executed, runs the composed functions in sequence.
https://angular.io/guide/rx-library (search for pipes in this URL, you can find the same)

So according to your question, you are referring pipe() function in RxJS

pip3: command not found

You would need to install pip3.

On Linux, the command would be: sudo apt install python3-pip

On Mac, using brew, first brew install python3
Then brew postinstall python3

Try calling pip3 -V to see if it worked.

Is it better to use path() or url() in urls.py for django 2.0?

Regular expressions don't seem to work with the path() function with the following arguments: path(r'^$', views.index, name="index").

It should be like this: path('', views.index, name="index").

The 1st argument must be blank to enter a regular expression.

Angular File Upload

Try this

Install

npm install primeng --save

Import

import {FileUploadModule} from 'primeng/primeng';

Html

<p-fileUpload name="myfile[]" url="./upload.php" multiple="multiple"
    accept="image/*" auto="auto"></p-fileUpload>

'react-scripts' is not recognized as an internal or external command

Try:

rm -rf node_modules && npm install

Wiping node_modules first, often tends to fix a lot of weird, package related issues like that in Node.

Read response headers from API response - Angular 5 + TypeScript

You should use the new HttpClient. You can find more information here.

    console.log(resp.headers.get('X-Token'));

how to format date in Component of angular 5

There is equally formatDate

const format = 'dd/MM/yyyy';
const myDate = '2019-06-29';
const locale = 'en-US';
const formattedDate = formatDate(myDate, format, locale);

According to the API it takes as param either a date string, a Date object, or a timestamp.

Gotcha: Out of the box, only en-US is supported.

If you need to add another locale, you need to add it and register it in you app.module, for example for Spanish:

import { registerLocaleData } from '@angular/common';
import localeES from "@angular/common/locales/es";
registerLocaleData(localeES, "es");

Don't forget to add corresponding import:

import { formatDate } from "@angular/common";

How to check if pytorch is using the GPU?

This is going to work :

In [1]: import torch

In [2]: torch.cuda.current_device()
Out[2]: 0

In [3]: torch.cuda.device(0)
Out[3]: <torch.cuda.device at 0x7efce0b03be0>

In [4]: torch.cuda.device_count()
Out[4]: 1

In [5]: torch.cuda.get_device_name(0)
Out[5]: 'GeForce GTX 950M'

In [6]: torch.cuda.is_available()
Out[6]: True

This tells me the GPU GeForce GTX 950M is being used by PyTorch.

Numpy Resize/Rescale Image

SciPy's imresize() method was another resize method, but it will be removed starting with SciPy v 1.3.0 . SciPy refers to PIL image resize method: Image.resize(size, resample=0)

size – The requested size in pixels, as a 2-tuple: (width, height).
resample – An optional resampling filter. This can be one of PIL.Image.NEAREST (use nearest neighbour), PIL.Image.BILINEAR (linear interpolation), PIL.Image.BICUBIC (cubic spline interpolation), or PIL.Image.LANCZOS (a high-quality downsampling filter). If omitted, or if the image has mode “1” or “P”, it is set PIL.Image.NEAREST.

OR

<button mat-raised-button color="accent">

Python convert object to float

  • You can use pandas.Series.astype
  • You can do something like this :

    weather["Temp"] = weather.Temp.astype(float)

  • You can also use pd.to_numeric that will convert the column from object to float

  • For details on how to use it checkout this link :http://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/version/0.20/generated/pandas.to_numeric.html
  • Example :

    s = pd.Series(['apple', '1.0', '2', -3])
    print(pd.to_numeric(s, errors='ignore'))
    print("=========================")
    print(pd.to_numeric(s, errors='coerce'))

  • Output:

    0    apple
    1      1.0
    2        2
    3       -3
    =========================
    dtype: object
    0    NaN
    1    1.0
    2    2.0
    3   -3.0
    dtype: float64

  • In your case you can do something like this:

    weather["Temp"] = pd.to_numeric(weather.Temp, errors='coerce')

  • Other option is to use convert_objects
  • Example is as follows

    >> pd.Series([1,2,3,4,'.']).convert_objects(convert_numeric=True)

    0     1
    1     2
    2     3
    3     4
    4   NaN
    dtype: float64

  • You can use this as follows:

    weather["Temp"] = weather.Temp.convert_objects(convert_numeric=True)

  • I have showed you examples because if any of your column won't have a number then it will be converted to NaN... so be careful while using it.

ng serve not detecting file changes automatically

I discovered that the dist/ folder in the project was owned by root. That is why sudo ng serve does see the changes when ng serve does not.

I removed the dist/ folder sudo rm -R dist/ and rebuild it as current user by starting the dev server ng serve and all worked again.

How to remove a virtualenv created by "pipenv run"

You can run the pipenv command with the --rm option as in:

According to official documentation

Multidex support for Android 5.0 and higher

Android 5.0 (API level 21) and higher uses a runtime called ART which natively supports loading multiple DEX files from APK files. ART performs pre-compilation at app install time which scans for classesN.dex files and compiles them into a single .oat file for execution by the Android device. Therefore, if your minSdkVersion is 21 or higher, you do not need the multidex support library.

For more information on the Android 5.0 runtime, read ART and Dalvik.

Import functions from another js file. Javascript

By default, scripts can't handle imports like that directly. You're probably getting another error about not being able to get Course or not doing the import.

If you add type="module" to your <script> tag, and change the import to ./course.js (because browsers won't auto-append the .js portion), then the browser will pull down course for you and it'll probably work.

import './course.js';

function Student() {
    this.firstName = '';
    this.lastName = '';
    this.course = new Course();
}

<html>
    <head>
        <script src="./models/student.js" type="module"></script>
    </head>
    <body>
        <div id="myDiv">
        </div>
        <script>
        window.onload= function() {
            var x = new Student();
            x.course.id = 1;
            document.getElementById('myDiv').innerHTML = x.course.id;
        }
        </script>
    </body>
</html>

If you're serving files over file://, it likely won't work. Some IDEs have a way to run a quick sever.

You can also write a quick express server to serve your files (install Node if you don't have it):

//package.json
{
  "scripts": { "start": "node server" },
  "dependencies": { "express": "latest" }
}

// server/index.js
const express = require('express');
const app = express();

app.use('/', express.static('PATH_TO_YOUR_FILES_HERE');
app.listen(8000);

With those two files, run npm install, then npm start and you'll have a server running over http://localhost:8000 which should point to your files.

How to iterate using ngFor loop Map containing key as string and values as map iteration

If you are using Angular 6.1 or later, the most convenient way is to use KeyValuePipe

          {{item.key}}:{{item.value}}
        </div>
      </span>`
    })
    export class KeyValuePipeComponent {
      object: Record<number, string> = {2: 'foo', 1: 'bar'};
      map = new Map([[2, 'foo'], [1, 'bar']]);
    }

Youtube - downloading a playlist - youtube-dl

In a shell, & is a special character, advising the shell to start everything up to the & as a process in the background. To avoid this behavior, you can put the URL in quotes. See the youtube-dl FAQ for more information.

Also beware of -citk. With the exception of -i, these options make little sense. See the youtube-dl FAQ for more information. Even -f mp4 looks very strange.

So what you want is:

youtube-dl -i -f mp4 --yes-playlist 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Vy8970q0Xc&list=PLwJ2VKmefmxpUJEGB1ff6yUZ5Zd7Gegn2'

Alternatively, you can just use the playlist ID:

youtube-dl -i PLwJ2VKmefmxpUJEGB1ff6yUZ5Zd7Gegn2

'' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file

This is a very common question seen on Stackoverflow.

The important part here is not the command displayed in the error, but what the actual error tells you instead.

a Quick breakdown on why this error is received.

cmd.exe Being a terminal window relies on input and system Environment variables, in order to perform what you request it to do. it does NOT know the location of everything and it also does not know when to distinguish between commands or executable names which are separated by whitespace like space and tab or commands with whitespace as switch variables.

How do I fix this:

When Actual Command/executable fails

First we make sure, is the executable actually installed? If yes, continue with the rest, if not, install it first.

If you have any executable which you are attempting to run from cmd.exe then you need to tell cmd.exe where this file is located. There are 2 ways of doing this.

  1. specify the full path to the file.

    "C:\My_Files\mycommand.exe"

  2. Add the location of the file to your environment Variables.

Goto:
------> Control Panel-> System-> Advanced System Settings->Environment Variables

In the System Variables Window, locate path and select edit

Now simply add your path to the end of the string, seperated by a semicolon ; as:

;C:\My_Files\

Save the changes and exit. You need to make sure that ANY cmd.exe windows you had open are then closed and re-opened to allow it to re-import the environment variables. Now you should be able to run mycommand.exe from any path, within cmd.exe as the environment is aware of the path to it.

When C:\Program or Similar fails

This is a very simple error. Each string after a white space is seen as a different command in cmd.exe terminal, you simply have to enclose the entire path in double quotes in order for cmd.exe to see it as a single string, and not separate commands.

So to execute C:\Program Files\My-App\Mobile.exe simply run as:

"C:\Program Files\My-App\Mobile.exe"

Anaconda / Python: Change Anaconda Prompt User Path

If you want to access folder you specified using Anaconda Prompt, try typing

cd C:\Users\u354590

React Native: JAVA_HOME is not set and no 'java' command could be found in your PATH

I think the right way to find the internal Java used by the Android Studio is to

  1. Open Android Studio
  2. Go to File->Other Settings->Default Project Structure/JDK Location:
  3. and copy what ever string is specified there

This will not require memorising the folder or searching for java and also these steps wil take of any future changes to the java location by the Android Studio team changes I suppose

Issue in installing php7.2-mcrypt

@praneeth-nidarshan has covered mostly all the steps, except some:

  • Check if you have pear installed (or install):

$ sudo apt-get install php-pear

  • Install, if isn't already installed, php7.2-dev, in order to avoid the error:

sh: phpize: not found

ERROR: `phpize’ failed

$ sudo apt-get install php7.2-dev

  • Install mcrypt using pecl:

$ sudo pecl install mcrypt-1.0.1

  • Add the extention extension=mcrypt.so to your php.ini configuration file; if you don't know where it is, search with:

$ sudo php -i | grep 'Configuration File'

Docker error: invalid reference format: repository name must be lowercase

For me the issue was with the space in volume mapping that was not escaped. The jenkins job which was running the docker run command had a space in it and as a result docker engine was not able to understand the docker run command.

How to use Bootstrap 4 in ASP.NET Core

Unfortunately, you're going to have a hard time using NuGet to install Bootstrap (or most other JavaScript/CSS frameworks) on a .NET Core project. If you look at the NuGet install it tells you it is incompatible:

enter image description here

if you must know where local packages dependencies are, they are now in your local profile directory. i.e. %userprofile%\.nuget\packages\bootstrap\4.0.0\content\Scripts.

However, I suggest switching to npm, or bower - like in Saineshwar's answer.

Not able to pip install pickle in python 3.6

pickle module is part of the standard library in Python for a very long time now so there is no need to install it via pip. I wonder if you IDE or command line is not messed up somehow so that it does not find python installation path. Please check if your %PATH% contains a path to python (e.g. C:\Python36\ or something similar) or if your IDE correctly detects root path where Python is installed.

Functions are not valid as a React child. This may happen if you return a Component instead of from render

I was able to resolve this by using my calling my high order component before exporting the class component. My problem was specifically using react-i18next and its withTranslation method, but here was the solution:

export default withTranslation()(Header);

And then I was able to call the class Component as originally I had hoped:

<Header someProp={someValue} />

Spring 5.0.3 RequestRejectedException: The request was rejected because the URL was not normalized

In my case, the problem was caused by not being logged in with Postman, so I opened a connection in another tab with a session cookie I took from the headers in my Chrome session.

ASP.NET Core - Swashbuckle not creating swagger.json file

I was running into a similar, but not exactly the same issue with swagger. Hopefully this helps someone else.

I was using a custom document title and was not changing the folder path in the SwaggerEndPoint to match the document title. If you leave the endpoint pointing to swagger/v1/swagger.json it won't find the json file in the swagger UI.

Example:

services.AddSwaggerGen(swagger =>
{
    swagger.SwaggerDoc("AppAdministration", new Info { Title = "App Administration API", Version = "v1.0" });

});

app.UseSwaggerUI(c =>
{
    c.SwaggerEndpoint("/swagger/AppAdministration/swagger.json", "App Administration");
});

Assets file project.assets.json not found. Run a NuGet package restore

This problem happening when your build tool is not set to do restore on projects set to use PackageReference vs packages.config and mostly affect Net Core and Netstandard new style projects.

When you open Visual Studio and build, it resolves this for you. But if you use automation, CLI tools, you see this issue.

Many solutions are offered here. But all you need to remember, you need to force restore. In some instances you use dotnet restore before build. If you build using MsBuild just add /t:Restore switch to your command.

Bottom line, you need to see why restoring can't be activated. Either bad nuget source or missing restore action, or outdated nuget.exe, or all of the above.

Reading images in python

From documentation:

Matplotlib can only read PNGs natively. Further image formats are supported via the optional dependency on Pillow.

So in case of PNG we may use plt.imread(). In other cases it's probably better to use Pillow directly.

Vue 'export default' vs 'new Vue'

Could not find a version that satisfies the requirement tensorflow

Uninstalling Python and then reinstalling solved my issue and I was able to successfully install TensorFlow.

pull access denied repository does not exist or may require docker login

I had the same error message but for a totally different reason.

Being new to docker, I issued

docker run -it <crypticalId>

where <crypticalId> was the id of my newly created container.

But, the run command wants the id of an image, not a container.

To start a container, docker wants

docker start -i <crypticalId>

How can I clear the terminal in Visual Studio Code?

V1.33 won't accept ctrl + k to clear terminal (Windows).

You need to enable manually by adding below code in your keybiniding.json, it will override the defaults.

In your VSCode, press ctrl + shift + p, search for keyboard and click on Open Keyboard Shortcuts to open the keybindings.json file.

Note: If you open the Default one, it will show the default settings, but as this file is read-only, you can't edit it manually.

Paste the following script in keybindings.json

{
            "key": "ctr+k",
            "command": "workbench.action.terminal.clear",
            "when": "terminalFocus"
}

Save the file.

Now your terminal will clear by crtl + k

Still getting warning : Configuration 'compile' is obsolete and has been replaced with 'implementation'

I treid all the solutions mentioned here, but no luck. I found in my build.gradle file as below:

dependencies {
        classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.3.0'
    }

I just changed it as below and saved and tried build success.

dependencies {
        classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.2.0'
    }

Dart SDK is not configured

Python Pandas - Find difference between two data frames

edit2, I figured out a new solution without the need of setting index

newdf=pd.concat([df1,df2]).drop_duplicates(keep=False)

Okay i found the answer of highest vote already contain what I have figured out. Yes, we can only use this code on condition that there are no duplicates in each two dfs.

I have a tricky method. First we set ’Name’ as the index of two dataframe given by the question. Since we have same ’Name’ in two dfs, we can just drop the ’smaller’ df’s index from the ‘bigger’ df. Here is the code.

df1.set_index('Name',inplace=True)
df2.set_index('Name',inplace=True)
newdf=df1.drop(df2.index)

You should not use <Link> outside a <Router>

I'm assuming that you are using React-Router V4, as you used the same in the original Sandbox Link.

You are rendering the Main component in the call to ReactDOM.render that renders a Link and Main component is outside of Router, that's why it is throwing the error:

You should not use <Link> outside a <Router>

Changes:

  1. Use any one of these Routers, BrowserRouter/HashRouter etc..., because you are using React-Router V4.

  2. Router can have only one child, so wrap all the routes in a div or Switch.

  3. React-Router V4, doesn't have the concept of nested routes, if you wants to use nested routes then define those routes directly inside that component.

Check this working example with each of these changes.

Parent Component:

const App = () => (
  <BrowserRouter>
    <div className="sans-serif">
      <Route path="/" component={Main} />
      <Route path="/view/:postId" component={Single} />
    </div>
  </BrowserRouter>
);

render(<App />, document.getElementById('root'));

Main component from route

import React from 'react';
import { Link } from 'react-router-dom';

export default () => (
  <div>
    <h1>
      <Link to="/">Redux example</Link>
    </h1>
  </div>
)

Etc.

Is there any way to set environment variables in Visual Studio Code?

In the VSCode launch.json you can use "env" and configure all your environment variables there:

{
    "version": "0.2.0",
    "configurations": [
        {
            "env": {
                "NODE_ENV": "development",
                "port":"1337"
            },
            ...
        }
    ]
}

How can I execute a python script from an html button?

you could use text files to trasfer the data using PHP and reading the text file in python

Failed linking file resources

I know this question has been answered already, however, I still would like to add to what a lot has posted here for others having a similar but not specific problem.

This error sometimes also comes as “Android resource linking failed”. It is sometimes vague. The solution sometimes could be quite boring and painful but, this error is absolutely nothing serious.

In this case, the error is not Vague because Android Studio pointed to the problem file.

General Cause The error shows up when Gradle encounters an error (Usually a syntax or typo error) in one or more of your XML files.

Most of the XML files are located in the res folder, however, you might still find some outside the res folder. For example, the AndroidManifest.xml located in “/src/main/AndroidManifest.xml”. Here is an example of a layout file that would give the “Error: failed linking file resources” error.

Solution To solve this problem, all you have to do is go through each of your XML files to figure out where the error might be. This could sometimes be time-consuming but be rest assured that the error will disappear as soon as you find and fix the problem XML.

You might be lucky and Android Studio will point you in the exact direction just like the one asked in the question......

Other times like when you are using an older version of Android Studio, the error would not be this specific.

Here are some Tips to finding the problem XML quickly If you have a lot of XML files and it would be just too difficult to go through them one after the other, you could use the following tips to make the process easier:

Undo: Most times, you are already halfway through a project before you experience this issue. Meaning that it was a recent change to one of your XML files that caused the issue. If that is the case, you can try to undo your recent change to the XML files. To undo, simply use the key combination: Ctrl+Z.

Open every XML file: The second method involves simply opening every single XML file in your project (Without scanning). The reason for this is that sometimes, after opening the problem XML file, Android Studio then detects the error and underlines the exact line.

React : difference between <Route exact path="/" /> and <Route path="/" />

The shortest answer is

Please try this.

Pandas/Python: Set value of one column based on value in another column

one way to do this would be to use indexing with .loc.

Example

In the absence of an example dataframe, I'll make one up here:

import numpy as np
import pandas as pd

df = pd.DataFrame({'c1': list('abcdefg')})
df.loc[5, 'c1'] = 'Value'

>>> df
      c1
0      a
1      b
2      c
3      d
4      e
5  Value
6      g

Assuming you wanted to create a new column c2, equivalent to c1 except where c1 is Value, in which case, you would like to assign it to 10:

First, you could create a new column c2, and set it to equivalent as c1, using one of the following two lines (they essentially do the same thing):

df = df.assign(c2 = df['c1'])
# OR:
df['c2'] = df['c1']

Then, find all the indices where c1 is equal to 'Value' using .loc, and assign your desired value in c2 at those indices:

df.loc[df['c1'] == 'Value', 'c2'] = 10

And you end up with this:

>>> df
      c1  c2
0      a   a
1      b   b
2      c   c
3      d   d
4      e   e
5  Value  10
6      g   g

If, as you suggested in your question, you would perhaps sometimes just want to replace the values in the column you already have, rather than create a new column, then just skip the column creation, and do the following:

df['c1'].loc[df['c1'] == 'Value'] = 10
# or:
df.loc[df['c1'] == 'Value', 'c1'] = 10

Giving you:

>>> df
      c1
0      a
1      b
2      c
3      d
4      e
5     10
6      g

did you register the component correctly? For recursive components, make sure to provide the "name" option

Since you have applied different name for the components:

components: {
      'i-tabs' : Tabs,
      'i-tab-pane': Tabpane
    }

You also need to have same name while you export: (Check to name in your Tabpane component)

name: 'Tabpane'

From the error, what I can say is you have not defined the name in your component Tabpane. Make sure to verify the name and it should work fine with no error.

How to remove whitespace from a string in typescript?

The trim() method removes whitespace from both sides of a string.

To remove all the spaces from the string use .replace(/\s/g, "")

 this.maintabinfo = this.inner_view_data.replace(/\s/g, "").toLowerCase();

Removing Conda environment

This worked for me:

Error : Program type already present: android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout$Behavior

I faced the same problem, I added android support design dependencies to the app level build.gradle

Add following:

implementation 'com.android.support:design:27.1.0'

in build.gradle. Now its working for me.

Angular 5 - Copy to clipboard

I know this has already been highly voted in here by now, but I'd rather go for a custom directive approach and rely on the ClipboardEvent as @jockeisorby suggested, while also making sure the listener is correctly removed (same function needs to be provided for both the add and remove event listeners)

stackblitz demo

import { Directive, Input, Output, EventEmitter, HostListener } from "@angular/core";

@Directive({ selector: '[copy-clipboard]' })
export class CopyClipboardDirective {

  @Input("copy-clipboard")
  public payload: string;

  @Output("copied")
  public copied: EventEmitter<string> = new EventEmitter<string>();

  @HostListener("click", ["$event"])
  public onClick(event: MouseEvent): void {

    event.preventDefault();
    if (!this.payload)
      return;

    let listener = (e: ClipboardEvent) => {
      let clipboard = e.clipboardData || window["clipboardData"];
      clipboard.setData("text", this.payload.toString());
      e.preventDefault();

      this.copied.emit(this.payload);
    };

    document.addEventListener("copy", listener, false)
    document.execCommand("copy");
    document.removeEventListener("copy", listener, false);
  }
}

and then use it as such

<a role="button" [copy-clipboard]="'some stuff'" (copied)="notify($event)">
  <i class="fa fa-clipboard"></i>
  Copy
</a>

public notify(payload: string) {
   // Might want to notify the user that something has been pushed to the clipboard
   console.info(`'${payload}' has been copied to clipboard`);
}

Note: notice the window["clipboardData"] is needed for IE as it does not understand e.clipboardData

After Spring Boot 2.0 migration: jdbcUrl is required with driverClassName

As this post gets a bit of popularity I edited it a bit. Spring Boot 2.x.x changed default JDBC connection pool from Tomcat to faster and better HikariCP. Here comes incompatibility, because HikariCP uses different property of jdbc url. There are two ways how to handle it:

OPTION ONE

There is very good explanation and workaround in spring docs:

Also, if you happen to have Hikari on the classpath, this basic setup does not work, because Hikari has no url property (but does have a jdbcUrl property). In that case, you must rewrite your configuration as follows:

app.datasource.jdbc-url=jdbc:mysql://localhost/test
app.datasource.username=dbuser
app.datasource.password=dbpass

OPTION TWO

There is also how-to in the docs how to get it working from "both worlds". It would look like below. ConfigurationProperties bean would do "conversion" for jdbcUrl from app.datasource.url

@Configuration
public class DatabaseConfig {
    @Bean
    @ConfigurationProperties("app.datasource")
    public DataSourceProperties dataSourceProperties() {
        return new DataSourceProperties();
    }

    @Bean
    @ConfigurationProperties("app.datasource")
    public HikariDataSource dataSource(DataSourceProperties properties) {
        return properties.initializeDataSourceBuilder().type(HikariDataSource.class)
                .build();
    }
}

Angular 5 Reactive Forms - Radio Button Group

I tried your code, you didn't assign/bind a value to your formControlName.

In HTML file:

<form [formGroup]="form">
   <label>
     <input type="radio" value="Male" formControlName="gender">
       <span>male</span>
   </label>
   <label>
     <input type="radio" value="Female" formControlName="gender">
       <span>female</span>
   </label>
</form>

In the TS file:

  form: FormGroup;
  constructor(fb: FormBuilder) {
    this.name = 'Angular2'
    this.form = fb.group({
      gender: ['', Validators.required]
    });
  }

Make sure you use Reactive form properly: [formGroup]="form" and you don't need the name attribute.

In my sample. words male and female in span tags are the values display along the radio button and Male and Female values are bind to formControlName

See the screenshot: enter image description here

To make it shorter:

<form [formGroup]="form">
  <input type="radio" value='Male' formControlName="gender" >Male
  <input type="radio" value='Female' formControlName="gender">Female
</form>

enter image description here

Hope it helps:)

If you want to use Unix shell commands on Windows, you can use Windows Powershell, which includes both Windows and Unix commands as aliases. You can find more info on it in the documentation.

PowerShell supports aliases to refer to commands by alternate names. Aliasing allows users with experience in other shells to use common command names that they already know for similar operations in PowerShell.

The PowerShell equivalents may not produce identical results. However, the results are close enough that users can do work without knowing the PowerShell command name.

Angular 5, HTML, boolean on checkbox is checked

When you have a copy of an object the [checked] attribute might not work, in that case, you can use (change) in this way:

How to render string with html tags in Angular 4+?

Use one way flow syntax property binding:

<div [innerHTML]="comment"></div>

From angular docs: "Angular recognizes the value as unsafe and automatically sanitizes it, which removes the <script> tag but keeps safe content such as the <b> element."

Cannot inline bytecode built with JVM target 1.8 into bytecode that is being built with JVM target 1.6

When the other solutions did not work for you (Changing JVM version on Compiler settings and adding jvmTarget into your build.gradle), because of your .iml files trying to force their configurations you can change the target platform from Project Settings.

  • Open File > Project Structure
  • Go to Facets under Project Settings
    • If it is empty then click on the small + button
  • Click on your Kotlin module/modules
  • Change the Target Platform to JVM 1.8 (also it's better to check Use project settings option)

Want to upgrade project from Angular v5 to Angular v6

Angular 6 has just been released.

https://blog.angular.io/version-6-of-angular-now-available-cc56b0efa7a4

Here is what worked for one of my smaller projects

  1. npm install -g @angular/cli
  2. npm install @angular/cli
  3. ng update @angular/cli --migrate-only --from=1.7.0
  4. ng update @angular/core
  5. npm install rxjs-compat
  6. ng serve

You might need to update your run scripts in package.json For eg. if you use flags like "app" and "environment" These have been updated to "project" and "configuration" respectively.

Refer https://update.angular.io/ for more detailed guide.

How to fix docker: Got permission denied issue

It is definitely not the case the question was about, but as it is the first search result while googling the error message, I'll leave it here.

First of all, check if docker service is running using the following command:

systemctl status docker.service

If it is not running, try starting it:

sudo systemctl start docker.service

... and check the status again:

systemctl status docker.service

If it has not started, investigate the reason. Probably, you have modified a config file and made an error (like I did while modifying /etc/docker/daemon.json)

How to avoid the "Windows Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting warning"

UPDATE: Another writeup here: How to add publisher in Installshield 2018 (might be better).

I am not too well informed about this issue, but please see if this answer to another question tells you anything useful (and let us know so I can evolve a better answer here): How to pass the Windows Defender SmartScreen Protection? That question relates to BitRock - a non-MSI installer technology, but the overall issue seems to be the same.

Extract from one of the links pointed to in my answer above: "...a certificate just isn't enough anymore to gain trust... SmartScreen is reputation based, not unlike the way StackOverflow works... SmartScreen trusts installers that don't cause problems. Windows machines send telemetry back to Redmond about installed programs and how much trouble they cause. If you get enough thumbs-up then SmartScreen stops blocking your installer automatically. This takes time and lots of installs to get sufficient thumbs. There is no way to find out how far along you got."

Honestly this is all news to me at this point, so do get back to us with any information you dig up yourself.

The actual dialog text you have marked above definitely relates to the Zone.Identifier alternate data stream with a value of 3 that is added to any file that is downloaded from the Internet (see linked answer above for more details).

I was not able to mark this question as a duplicate of the previous one, since it doesn't have an accepted answer. Let's leave both question open for now? (one question is for MSI, one is for non-MSI).

Importing .py files in Google Colab

You can save it first, then import it.

from google.colab import files
src = list(files.upload().values())[0]
open('mylib.py','wb').write(src)
import mylib

Update (nov 2018): Now you can upload easily by

  • click at [>] to open the left pane
  • choose file tab
  • click [upload] and choose your [mylib.py]
  • import mylib

Update (oct 2019): If you don't want to upload every time, you can store it in S3 and mount it to Colab, as shown in this gist

Update (apr 2020): Now that you can mount your Google Drive automatically. It is easier to just copy it from Drive than upload it.

  • Store mylib.py in your Drive
  • Open a new Colab
  • Open the (left)side pane, select Files view
  • Click Mount Drive then Connect to Google Drive
  • Copy it by !cp drive/MyDrive/mylib.py .
  • import mylib

js 'types' can only be used in a .ts file - Visual Studio Code using @ts-check

I'm using flow with vscode but had the same problem. I solved it with these steps:

  1. Install the extension Flow Language Support

  2. Disable the built-in TypeScript extension:

    1. Go to Extensions tab
    2. Search for @builtin TypeScript and JavaScript Language Features
    3. Click on Disable
