How can I concatenate a string within a loop in JSTL JSP

lt c forEach items    myParams items   var  currentItem  varStatus  stat  gt     lt c set var  myVar  value   lt c out var  myVar    gt     gt   lt  c forEach gt    I want to concatenate the values of currentItem myVar and output it at the end of the loop  problem is I can t figure out how to do this      Preferably not using Java

You re using JSTL 2 0 right   You don t need to put  lt c out  gt  around all variables  Have you tried something like this    lt c forEach items    myParams items   var  currentItem  varStatus  stat  gt     lt c set var  myVar  value    myVar   currentItem     gt   lt  c forEach gt    Edit  Beaten by the above

Perhaps this will work    lt c forEach items    myParams items   var  currentItem  varStatus  stat  gt     lt c set var  myVar  value    stat first        myVar    currentItem     gt   lt  c forEach gt

define a String variable using the JSP tags   lt    String test   new String      gt    then refer to that variable in your loop as   lt c forEach items    myParams items   var  currentItem  varStatus  stat  gt  test   whaterver value  lt  c forEach gt
