values = ['A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E']
values[0] # returns 'A'
values[2] # returns 'C'
# etc.
You can use _ _getitem__(key) function.
>>> iterable = ('A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E')
>>> key = 4
>>> iterable.__getitem__(key)
'E'
Same as any other language, just pass index number of element that you want to retrieve.
#!/usr/bin/env python
x = [2,3,4,5,6,7]
print(x[5])
