You could use the encodeURIComponent to safely URL encode parts of a query string:
var array = JSON.stringify([ 'foo', 'bar' ]);
var url = 'http://example.com/?data=' + encodeURIComponent(array);
or if you are sending this as an AJAX request:
var array = JSON.stringify([ 'foo', 'bar' ]);
