WP -- Get posts by category

Question

I m using this in my page template to get posts by their category    lt  php          if  is page 19                  gt               lt ul gt               lt  php                 global  post                   args   array   category    gt   Testimonial                      myposts   get posts   args                    foreach   myposts as  post      setup postdata  post     gt                       lt li class  testimonial  gt  lt  php the content      gt  lt  li gt  lt br  gt                   lt  php endforeach    gt               lt  ul gt           lt  php     gt    but it s retrieving all posts instead  Not just the ones labeled Testimonial  Any idea what I m doing wrong

You can use  category name  in parameters  http   codex wordpress org Template Tags get posts     Note  The category name parameter needs to be a string  in this case  the category name

Create a taxonomy field category  field name   post category  and import it in your template as shown below    lt  php            categ   get field  post category                 args   array   posts per page    gt  6            category name    gt   categ- gt slug               myposts   get posts   args              foreach    myposts as  post     setup postdata   post      gt                your code here            lt  php endforeach             wp reset postdata     gt
