[javascript] scrollTop jquery, scrolling to div with id?

instead of 

$('html, body').animate({scrollTop:xxx}, 'slow');

use

$('html, body').animate({scrollTop:$('#div_id').position().top}, 'slow');

this will return the absolute top position of whatever element you select as #div_id
