Great question. There are three solutions I know about:

Solution #1

Replace the default widget.

Customize the default widget. If you're using the same widget that the field usually uses then you can simply customize that one instead of instantiating an entirely new one.

Solution #3

Finally, if you're working with a model form then (in addition to the previous two solutions) you have the option to specify a custom widget for a field by setting the widgets attribute of the inner Meta class.

Don't forget to inject $location into controller.

The Denver SQL Server Users group has had some really good presentations over the last couple of months on the new features in SQL 2008 including one from Paul Nielsen just last week shortly after he got back from "Jump Start" up in Redmond (if I remember the name of the event correctly).

A couple of caveats on all of the "new features" for SQL 2008, the triage to determine which features will be in the various editions is still in progress. Many/most of the new/very cool features like data compression, partitioned indexes, policies, etc. are only going to be in the enterprise edition. Unless you're planning on running enterprise edition a lot of the features that are in the CTP's will probably not be in SQL 2008 standard, etc.

On other minor but often overlooked issue - SQL 2008 will only be 64-bit, if you're buying new hardware shouldn't be an issue but if you're planning on using existing hardware... also, if you've got dependencies on third party drivers (e.g. oracle) best be sure that a 64-bit version is available/works

Simple! The folder named .. is the parent folder, so you can make the path to the file you need as such

This is pure JavaScript.

There is nothing special about $. It is just a character that may be used in variable names.

var $ = 1;
var $$ = 2;
alert($ + $$);

jQuery just assigns it's core function to a variable called $. The code you have assigns this to a local variable called self and the results of calling jQuery with this as an argument to a global variable called $self.

It's ugly, dirty, confusing, but $, self and $self are all different variables that happen to have similar names.

After changing lots in my POM and updating my JDK I was getting the "One or more constraints have not been satisfied" related to Google App Engine. The solution was to delete the Eclipse project settings and reimport it.

On OS X, I did this in Terminal by changing to the project directory and

rm -rf .project
rm -rf .settings

Did you verify that the control causing the post back has CausesValidation set to tru and that it does not have a validation group assigned to it?

I'm not sure what else might cause this behavior.

I also had a similar error log and here's what I did-

People will offer you obfuscators, but no amount of obfuscation can prevent someone from getting at your code. None. If your computer can run it, or in the case of movies and music if it can play it, the user can get at it. Even compiling it to machine code just makes the job a little more difficult. If you use an obfuscator, you are just fooling yourself. Worse, you're also disallowing your users from fixing bugs or making modifications.

Music and movie companies haven't quite come to terms with this yet, they still spend millions on DRM.

In interpreted languages like PHP and Perl it's trivial. Perl used to have lots of code obfuscators, then we realized you can trivially decompile them.

perl -MO=Deparse some_program

PHP has things like DeZender and Show My Code.

My advice? Write a license and get a lawyer. The only other option is to not give out the code and instead run a hosted service.

If you want more compact code, I suggest using Apache Commons DbUtils. In this case:

Any solution to this problem boils down to a shared secret. I also don't like the hard-coded user-name and password option but it does have the benefit of being quite simple. The client certificate is also good but is it really much different? There's a cert on the server and one on the client. It's main advantage is that it's harder to brute force. Hopefully you've got other protections in place to protect against that though.

I don't think your point A for the client certificate solution is difficult to resolve. You just use a branch. if (client side certificat) { check it } else { http basic auth } I'm no java expert and I've never worked with it to do client side certificates. However a quick Google leads us to this tutorial which looks right up your alley.

Despite all of this "what's best" discussion, let me just point out that there is another philosophy that says, "less code, less cleverness is better." (I personally hold this philosophy). The client certificate solution sounds like a lot of code.

I know you expressed questions about OAuth, but the OAuth2 proposal does include a solution to your problem called "bearer tokens" which must be used in conjunction with SSL. I think, for the sake of simplicity, I'd choose either the hard-coded user/pass (one per app so that they can be revoked individually) or the very similar bearer tokens.

For the go up, you just need to use scrollTop instead of scrollBottom:

Also, use the .stop() method to stop the currently-running animation on the cover div. When .stop() is called on an element, the currently-running animation (if any) is immediately stopped.

Escape with a double backslash

R treats backslashes as escape values for character constants. (... and so do regular expressions. Hence the need for two backslashes when supplying a character argument for a pattern. The first one isn't actually a character, but rather it makes the second one into a character.) You can see how they are processed using cat.

To use special characters in a regular expression the simplest method is usually to escape them with a backslash, but as noted above, the backslash itself needs to be escaped.

To match backslashes, you need to double escape, resulting in four backslashes.

The rebus package contains constants for each of the special characters to save you mistyping slashes.

Form a character class

You can also wrap the special characters in square brackets to form a character class.

Two of the special characters have special meaning inside character classes: \ and ^.

Backslash still needs to be escaped even if it is inside a character class.

Caret only needs to be escaped if it is directly after the opening square bracket.

Use a pre-existing character class

If you want to match all punctuation, you can use the [:punct:] character class.

stringi maps this to the Unicode General Category for punctuation, so its behaviour is slightly different.

You can also use the cross-platform syntax for accessing a UGC.

Use \Q \E escapes

Placing characters between \\Q and \\E makes the regular expression engine treat them literally rather than as regular expressions.

grepl("\\Q.\\E", "a.b")

rebus lets you write literal blocks of regular expressions.

literal(".")
## <regex> \Q.\E

Don't use regular expressions

Regular expressions are not always the answer. If you want to match a fixed string then you can do, for example:

grepl("[", "a[b", fixed = TRUE)
stringr::str_detect("a[b", fixed("["))
stringi::stri_detect_fixed("a[b", "[")

This is because in relational database terminology, what you want to do is not called "inserting", but "UPDATING" - you are updating an existing row's field from one value (NULL in your case) to "test"

UPDATE your_table SET table_column = "test" 
WHERE table_column = NULL 

You don't need the second line if you want to update 100% of rows.

I've created an npm module to do this with some added flexibility:

Get and set values at positions:

Use a concrete list type, e.g. ArrayList instead of just List.

They have to do with the difference between DOS style line endings and Unix style. Check out the Wikipedia article. You may be able to find a dos2unix tool to help, or simply write a small script to fix them yourself.

Edit: I found the following Python sample code here:

If you want to get the strings separated by the , you can use

I have done experimentation on this.

It's true that System.gc(); only suggests to run the Garbage Collector.

But calling System.gc(); after setting all references to null, will improve performance and memory occupation.

Of course, I was misunderstanding the problem. As AWS themselves put it:

For those encountering nodejs for the first time in Lambda, a common error is forgetting that callbacks execute asynchronously and calling context.done() in the original handler when you really meant to wait for another callback (such as an S3.PUT operation) to complete, forcing the function to terminate with its work incomplete.

I was calling context.done way before any callbacks for the request fired, causing the termination of my function ahead of time.

The working code is this:

Update: starting 2017 AWS has deprecated the old Nodejs 0.10 and only the newer 4.3 run-time is now available (old functions should be updated). This runtime introduced some changes to the handler function. The new handler has now 3 parameters.

function(event, context, callback)

Although you will still find the succeed, done and fail on the context parameter, AWS suggest to use the callback function instead or null is returned by default.

callback(new Error('failure')) // to return error
callback(null, 'success msg') // to return ok

You can use the collate clause in a query (I can't find my example right now, so my syntax is probably wrong - I hope it points you in the right direction)

( Side note: This fills up the DOM if you have a lot of data on both levels, so I am therefore working on a directive to fetch data and replace, i.e. adding into DOM when clicking parent and removing when another is clicked or same parent again. To get the kind of behavior you find on Prisjakt.nu, if you scroll down to the computers listed and click on the row (not the links). If you do that and inspect elements you will see that a tr is added and then removed if parent is clicked again or another. )

You can expire Redis hashes in ease, Eg using python

Conversion values for days in a month and year were taken from Google.

I also faced this issue and see many absurd pages. I've learned that to make your app browsable, change the order of the XML elements, this this:

RegEx is the way to go in most cases.

In some cases, it may be faster to specify more elements or the specific element to perform the replace on:

This does the replace once on each string, but it does it using a more specific selector.

There are several options. If performance is a concern, test them to see which works fastest in a large loop.

If you're running cPanel/WHM, make sure that IP is whitelisted in the firewall. You will als need to add that IP to the remote SQL IP list in the cPanel account you're trying to connect to.

The one way is by using webservice, simply write a webservice method in PHP or any other language . And From your android app by using http client request and response , you can hit the web service method which will return whatever you want.

I would not recommend this solution (vector is better), but if you are really desperate, you could find a relationship and be able to conclude the number of bytes allocated from the heap.

Calling exactly super() is always redundant. It's explicitly doing what would be implicitly done otherwise. That's because if you omit a call to the super constructor, the no-argument super constructor will be invoked automatically anyway. Not to say that it's bad style; some people like being explicit.

However, where it becomes useful is when the super constructor takes arguments that you want to pass in from the subclass.

I had the same problem I switched from wamp to xampp and yes PHP was working because my path was still pointing to my old installation. I had forgotten to change it to point to my new php installation which version of php didn't match the rest at all.

Java integer types are represented as signed. With an input between 2³¹ and 2³² (or -2³¹ and -2³²) the cast would succeed but your test would fail.

Tom is correct in describing exactly what the + operator does. It creates a temporary StringBuilder, appends the parts, and finishes with toString().

However, all of the answers so far are ignoring the effects of HotSpot runtime optimizations. Specifically, these temporary operations are recognized as a common pattern and are replaced with more efficient machine code at run-time.

@marcio: You've created a micro-benchmark; with modern JVM's this is not a valid way to profile code.

The reason run-time optimization matters is that many of these differences in code -- even including object-creation -- are completely different once HotSpot gets going. The only way to know for sure is profiling your code in situ.

Finally, all of these methods are in fact incredibly fast. This might be a case of premature optimization. If you have code that concatenates strings a lot, the way to get maximum speed probably has nothing to do with which operators you choose and instead the algorithm you're using!

A bug or security vulnerability in the server (either Apache or the PHP engine), or your own PHP code, might allow an attacker to obtain access to your code.

Task.GetAwaiter().GetResult() is preferred over Task.Wait and Task.Result because it propagates exceptions rather than wrapping them in an AggregateException. However, all three methods cause the potential for deadlock and thread pool starvation issues. They should all be avoided in favor of async/await.

In general, I try my best to avoid synchronously blocking on an asynchronous task. However, there are a handful of situations where I do violate that guideline. If my understanding is correct, updates should be pretty simple. I would just do the following.

TEXT is a data-type for text based input. On the other hand, you have BLOB and CLOB which are more suitable for data storage (images, etc) due to their larger capacity limits (4GB for example).

As for the difference between BLOB and CLOB, I believe CLOB has character encoding associated with it, which implies it can be suited well for very large amounts of text.

BLOB and CLOB data can take a long time to retrieve, relative to how quick data from a TEXT field can be retrieved. So, use only what you need.

The most important difference is this:

• In case of persist method, if the entity that is to be managed in the persistence context, already exists in persistence context, the new one is ignored. (NOTHING happened)

• But in case of merge method, the entity that is already managed in persistence context will be replaced by the new entity (updated) and a copy of this updated entity will return back. (from now on any changes should be made on this returned entity if you want to reflect your changes in persistence context)

The -shared flag tells gcc to create a DLL.

To check if the DLL has actually exported the functions, get hold of the free Dependency Walker tool and use it to examine the DLL.

For a free IDE which will automate all the flags etc. needed to build DLLs, take a look at the excellent Code::Blocks, which works very well with MinGW.

When a $sort immediately precedes a $limit, the optimizer can coalesce the $limit into the $sort. This allows the sort operation to only maintain the top n results as it progresses, where n is the specified limit, and MongoDB only needs to store n items in memory.

Why flush if you can commit?

As someone new to working with databases and sqlalchemy, the previous answers - that flush() sends SQL statements to the DB and commit() persists them - were not clear to me. The definitions make sense but it isn't immediately clear from the definitions why you would use a flush instead of just committing.

Since a commit always flushes (https://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/13/orm/session_basics.html#committing) these sound really similar. I think the big issue to highlight is that a flush is not permanent and can be undone, whereas a commit is permanent, in the sense that you can't ask the database to undo the last commit (I think)

@snapshoe highlights that if you want to query the database and get results that include newly added objects, you need to have flushed first (or committed, which will flush for you). Perhaps this is useful for some people although I'm not sure why you would want to flush rather than commit (other than the trivial answer that it can be undone).

In another example I was syncing documents between a local DB and a remote server, and if the user decided to cancel, all adds/updates/deletes should be undone (i.e. no partial sync, only a full sync). When updating a single document I've decided to simply delete the old row and add the updated version from the remote server. It turns out that due to the way sqlalchemy is written, order of operations when committing is not guaranteed. This resulted in adding a duplicate version (before attempting to delete the old one), which resulted in the DB failing a unique constraint. To get around this I used flush() so that order was maintained, but I could still undo if later the sync process failed.

Similarly, someone wanted to know whether add order is maintained when committing, i.e. if I add object1 then add object2, does object1 get added to the database before object2 Does SQLAlchemy save order when adding objects to session?

Again, here presumably the use of a flush() would ensure the desired behavior. So in summary, one use for flush is to provide order guarantees (I think), again while still allowing yourself an "undo" option that commit does not provide.

Autoflush and Autocommit

Note, autoflush can be used to ensure queries act on an updated database as sqlalchemy will flush before executing the query. https://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/13/orm/session_api.html#sqlalchemy.orm.session.Session.params.autoflush

Memory Usage

Now the original question actually wanted to know about the impact of flush vs. commit for memory purposes. As the ability to persist or not is something the database offers (I think), simply flushing should be sufficient to offload to the database - although committing shouldn't hurt (actually probably helps - see below) if you don't care about undoing.

sqlalchemy uses weak referencing for objects that have been flushed: https://docs.sqlalchemy.org/en/13/orm/session_state_management.html#session-referencing-behavior

This means if you don't have an object explicitly held onto somewhere, like in a list or dict, sqlalchemy won't keep it in memory.

However, then you have the database side of things to worry about. Presumably flushing without committing comes with some memory penalty to maintain the transaction. Again, I'm new to this but here's a link that seems to suggest exactly this: https://stackoverflow.com/a/15305650/764365

In other words, commits should reduce memory usage, although presumably there is a trade-off between memory and performance here. In other words, you probably don't want to commit every single database change, one at a time (for performance reasons), but waiting too long will increase memory usage.

If both tables are truly the same schema:

Another option is the openxlsx-package. It doesn't depend on java and can read, edit and write Excel-files. From the description from the package:

It is an extremely overused way to check for the success/failure of a command. Typically, the code snippet you give would be refactored as:

You have 2 options

1) Use javascript to confirm deletion (use onsubmit event handler), however if the client has JS disabled, you're in trouble.

2) Use PHP to echo out a confirmation message, along with the contents of the form (hidden if you like) as well as a submit button called "confirmation", in PHP check if $_POST["confirmation"] is set.

The following approach worked in Angular 5 CLI.

For sake of simplicity, I used similar d3gauge.js demo created and provided by oliverbinns - which you may easily find on Github.

For example, this suppresses the "Field only ever set to null" warning:

In case of aliased columns (i.e. column.alias("whatever") ) the alias can be extracted, even without the usage of regular expressions: str(column).split(" AS ")[1].split("`")[1] .

I don't know Scala syntax, but I'm sure It can be done the same.

Just change + to -:

My take is a combination of a couple of posted answers, with some modifications to make them easier to use from within a running python environment.

The idea is to provide a entirely new command (modeled after the install command) that gives you an instance of the package finder to use. The upside is that it works with, and uses, any indexes that pip supports and reads your local pip configuration files, so you get the correct results as you would with a normal pip install.

If your code doesn't require the file to be truncated first, you can use the FileMode.OpenOrCreate to open the filestream, which will create the file if it doesn't exist or open it if it does. You can use the stream to point at the front and start overwriting the existing file?

I'm assuming your using a streams here, there are other ways to write a file.

It means "no value". You use void to indicate that a function doesn't return a value or that it has no parameters or both.It's much consistent with typical uses of word void in English.

stages the removed files for deletion, BUT ALSO modified files for update.

To unstage the modified files you can do

TCP is a connection oriented stream over an IP network. It guarantees that all sent packets will reach the destination in the correct order. This imply the use of acknowledgement packets sent back to the sender, and automatic retransmission, causing additional delays and a general less efficient transmission than UDP.

UDP is a connection-less protocol. Communication is datagram oriented. The integrity is guaranteed only on the single datagram. Datagrams reach destination and can arrive out of order or don't arrive at all. It is more efficient than TCP because it uses non ACK. It's generally used for real time communication, where a little percentage of packet loss rate is preferable to the overhead of a TCP connection.

In certain situations UDP is used because it allows broadcast packet transmission. This is sometimes fundamental in cases like DHCP protocol, because the client machine hasn't still received an IP address (this is the DHCP negotiaton protocol purpose) and there won't be any way to establish a TCP stream without the IP address itself.

I've discovered that LEFT and RIGHT are not supported functions in Oracle. They are used in SQL Server, MySQL, and some other versions of SQL. In Oracle, you need to use the SUBSTR function. Here are simple examples:

When a setUp() method is defined, the test runner will run that method prior to each test. Likewise, if a tearDown() method is defined, the test runner will invoke that method after each test.

For example you have a test that requires items to exist, or certain state - so you put these actions(creating object instances, initializing db, preparing rules and so on) into the setUp.

Also as you know each test should stop in the place where it was started - this means that we have to restore app state to it's initial state - e.g close files, connections, removing newly created items, calling transactions callback and so on - all these steps are to be included into the tearDown.

So the idea is that test itself should contain only actions that to be performed on the test object to get the result, while setUp and tearDown are the methods to help you to leave your test code clean and flexible.

You can create a setUp and tearDown for a bunch of tests and define them in a parent class - so it would be easy for you to support such tests and update common preparations and clean ups.

I had a different scenario, but still landed on this answer.
I had imported my root project folder containing multiple Maven projects but also some other stuff used in this project.
IntelliJ recognised the Java files, but didn't resolve the Maven dependencies.

This will wait until jQuery is loaded to use it, but you can use the same concept, setting variables in your other scripts (or checking them if they're not your script) to wait until they're loaded to use them.

This is an old, but still relevant question, and while the answers here are helpful no one answer fully addressed both of the OP's questions.

1. Do I have to install ODP.NET and Oracle client on the computer that I want to run my application?

YES - if you are using ODP.NET, Unmanaged. This is the version that you typically install when you choose "Oracle Data Provider for .NET" in the Oracle Client installer (for example). You Download this from Oracle (just google it: Oracle URLs change often).

But If you are using ODP.NET, Managed (and you probably want to use this one this instead) then No, you only need to install (or deploy) ODP.NET, Managed with the app, not the full Oracle Client. See below for details.

2. If yes, is there other way that I don't have to install them but still can run my application?

Yes, there is at least one way. And it is the Managed port of ODP.NET.

Unfortunately the usual workarounds, including ODBC, Microsoft's Oracle Provider for .NET (yes, that old, deprecated one), and the ODP.NET, Unmanaged DLL all require the Oracle client to be installed. It wasn't until our friends at Oracle gave us a nice little (~5MB) DLL that is also Managed. This means no more having to depoy 32-bit and 64-bit versions to go with 32-bit and 64-bit Oracle clients! And no more issues with assembly binding where you build against 10.0.2.1 (or whatever) but your customers install a range of clients from 9i all the way to 12c, including the 'g' ones in the middle) because you can just ship it with your app, and manage it via nuget.

But if you use ODP.NET, Managed which is available as a nuget package, then you do not need to install the Oracle Client. You only need the ODP.NET, Managed DLL. And if you were previously using the ODP.NET, Unmanaged DLL, it is very easy to switch: simply change all your references to the Managed ODP.NET (.csproj files in csharp, etc.), and then change any using statements, for example: using Oracle.DataAccess.Client becomes using Oracle.ManagedDataAccess.Client and that's it! (Unless you were supposedly using some of the more advanced DB management features in the full client that are exposed in the ODP.NET, Unmanaged, which I have not done myself, so good luck with that..). And also nuke all of those annoying assemblyBindingRedirect nodes from your app.config/web.config files and never sweat that junk again!

Troubleshooting:

That error typically means ODP.NET was found OK, but Oracle client was not found or not installed. This could also occur when the architecture doesn't match (32-bit Oracle client is installed, but trying to use 64-bit Unmanaged ODP.NET, or vice versa). This can also happen due to permissions issues and path issues and other problems with the app domain (your web app or your EXE or whatever) not being able to find the Oracle DLLs to actually communicate with Oracle over the network (the ODP.NET Unmanaged DLLs are basically just wrappers for this that hook into ADO and stuff).

Common solutions I have found to this problem:

App is 64-bit?

• Install 64-bit Oracle Client (32-bit one wont work)

App is 32-bit?

• Install 32-bit Oracle Client (64-bit one wont work)

Oracle Client is already installed for the correct architecture?

• Verify your environment PATH and ORACLE_HOME variables, make sure Oracle can be found (newer versions may use Registry instead)
• Verify the ORACLE_HOME and settings in the Registry (And remember: Registry is either 32-bit or 64-bit, so make sure you check the one that matches your app!)
• Verify permissions on the ORACLE_HOME folder. If you don't know where this is, check the Registry. I have seen cases where ASP.NET app worker process was using Network Service user and for some reason installing 32-bit and 64-bit clients side by side resulted in the permissions being removed from the first client for the Authorized Users group.. fixing perms on the home folder fixed this.
• As always, it is handy to Use SysInternals Process Monitor to find out what file is missing or can't be read.

You can use TRUNC on DateTime to remove Time part of the DateTime. So your where clause can be:

The first line tells the shell that if you execute the script directly (./run.sh; as opposed to /bin/sh run.sh), it should use that program (/bin/sh in this case) to interpret it.

You can also use it to pass arguments, commonly -e (exit on error), or use other programs (/bin/awk, /usr/bin/perl, etc).

v4l support has been dropped in recent kernel versions (including the one shipped with Ubuntu 11.04).

EDIT: Your question is connected to a recent message that was sent to the OpenCV users group, which has instructions to compile OpenCV 2.2 in Ubuntu 11.04. Your approach is not ideal.

Never use =='NA' to test for missing values. Use is.na() instead. This should do it:

In researching Matt's comment, I have revised my original statement. He is correct, there will be a difference in performance between an inline table valued function (ITVF) and a multi-statement table valued function (MSTVF) even if they both simply execute a SELECT statement. SQL Server will treat an ITVF somewhat like a VIEW in that it will calculate an execution plan using the latest statistics on the tables in question. A MSTVF is equivalent to stuffing the entire contents of your SELECT statement into a table variable and then joining to that. Thus, the compiler cannot use any table statistics on the tables in the MSTVF. So, all things being equal, (which they rarely are), the ITVF will perform better than the MSTVF. In my tests, the performance difference in completion time was negligible however from a statistics standpoint, it was noticeable.

In your case, the two functions are not functionally equivalent. The MSTV function does an extra query each time it is called and, most importantly, filters on the customer id. In a large query, the optimizer would not be able to take advantage of other types of joins as it would need to call the function for each customerId passed. However, if you re-wrote your MSTV function like so:

In a query, the optimizer would be able to call that function once and build a better execution plan but it still would not be better than an equivalent, non-parameterized ITVS or a VIEW.

ITVFs should be preferred over a MSTVFs when feasible because the datatypes, nullability and collation from the columns in the table whereas you declare those properties in a multi-statement table valued function and, importantly, you will get better execution plans from the ITVF. In my experience, I have not found many circumstances where an ITVF was a better option than a VIEW but mileage may vary.

There are two answers above up-to-now and they are both long (and tl;dr too short IMHO), so I write summary from my experience starting to use new java.time library (applicable as noted in other answers to Java version 8+). ISO 8601 sets standard way to write dates: YYYY-MM-DD so the format of date-time is only as below (could be 0, 3, 6 or 9 digits for milliseconds) and no formatting string necessary:
