Programs & Examples On #Turbine

WAMP/XAMPP is responding very slow over localhost

I run on wamp and I had this problem once. There can be many factors to this though there is 5 main ones that come to my mind.

1st. A program can cause this(Even antivirus software just depends what you have.)

2nd. Is your computer full or using alot of space this happen to a partner site of mine.

3rd. Check your regerstry files there could be errors or other things. (This end up being my problem.)

4th. After you uninstalled it did you manually delete the files that were left on your computer.(Yes even after you uninstall with wamp it has a tendency to leave a folder or 2 with some important data on it. When you install this will not be remodified and will stay the same.)

5th. Download the latest wamp or the lastest stable version of it.

Hope one of these things help.

How do I decode a string with escaped unicode?

UPDATE: Please note that this is a solution that should apply to older browsers or non-browser platforms, and is kept alive for instructional purposes. Please refer to @radicand 's answer below for a more up to date answer.

This is a unicode, escaped string. First the string was escaped, then encoded with unicode. To convert back to normal:

var x = "http\\u00253A\\u00252F\\u00252Fexample.com";
var r = /\\u([\d\w]{4})/gi;
x = x.replace(r, function (match, grp) {
    return String.fromCharCode(parseInt(grp, 16)); } );
console.log(x);  // http%3A%2F%2Fexample.com
x = unescape(x);
console.log(x);  // http://example.com

To explain: I use a regular expression to look for \u0025. However, since I need only a part of this string for my replace operation, I use parentheses to isolate the part I'm going to reuse, 0025. This isolated part is called a group.

The gi part at the end of the expression denotes it should match all instances in the string, not just the first one, and that the matching should be case insensitive. This might look unnecessary given the example, but it adds versatility.

Now, to convert from one string to the next, I need to execute some steps on each group of each match, and I can't do that by simply transforming the string. Helpfully, the String.replace operation can accept a function, which will be executed for each match. The return of that function will replace the match itself in the string.

I use the second parameter this function accepts, which is the group I need to use, and transform it to the equivalent utf-8 sequence, then use the built - in unescape function to decode the string to its proper form.

Compiled vs. Interpreted Languages

Start thinking in terms of a: blast from the past

Once upon a time, long long ago, there lived in the land of computing interpreters and compilers. All kinds of fuss ensued over the merits of one over the other. The general opinion at that time was something along the lines of:

  • Interpreter: Fast to develop (edit and run). Slow to execute because each statement had to be interpreted into machine code every time it was executed (think of what this meant for a loop executed thousands of times).
  • Compiler: Slow to develop (edit, compile, link and run. The compile/link steps could take serious time). Fast to execute. The whole program was already in native machine code.

A one or two order of magnitude difference in the runtime performance existed between an interpreted program and a compiled program. Other distinguishing points, run-time mutability of the code for example, were also of some interest but the major distinction revolved around the run-time performance issues.

Today the landscape has evolved to such an extent that the compiled/interpreted distinction is pretty much irrelevant. Many compiled languages call upon run-time services that are not completely machine code based. Also, most interpreted languages are "compiled" into byte-code before execution. Byte-code interpreters can be very efficient and rival some compiler generated code from an execution speed point of view.

The classic difference is that compilers generated native machine code, interpreters read source code and generated machine code on the fly using some sort of run-time system. Today there are very few classic interpreters left - almost all of them compile into byte-code (or some other semi-compiled state) which then runs on a virtual "machine".

Using Jquery Ajax to retrieve data from Mysql

You can't return ajax return value. You stored global variable store your return values after return.
Or Change ur code like this one.

AjaxGet = function (url) {
    var result = $.ajax({
        type: "POST",
        url: url,
       param: '{}',
        contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8",
        dataType: "json",
       async: false,
        success: function (data) {
            // nothing needed here
      }
    }) .responseText ;
    return  result;
}

Are HTTP cookies port specific?

The current cookie specification is RFC 6265, which replaces RFC 2109 and RFC 2965 (both RFCs are now marked as "Historic") and formalizes the syntax for real-world usages of cookies. It clearly states:

  1. Introduction

...

For historical reasons, cookies contain a number of security and privacy infelicities. For example, a server can indicate that a given cookie is intended for "secure" connections, but the Secure attribute does not provide integrity in the presence of an active network attacker. Similarly, cookies for a given host are shared across all the ports on that host, even though the usual "same-origin policy" used by web browsers isolates content retrieved via different ports.

And also:

8.5. Weak Confidentiality

Cookies do not provide isolation by port. If a cookie is readable by a service running on one port, the cookie is also readable by a service running on another port of the same server. If a cookie is writable by a service on one port, the cookie is also writable by a service running on another port of the same server. For this reason, servers SHOULD NOT both run mutually distrusting services on different ports of the same host and use cookies to store security sensitive information.

How can I set the initial value of Select2 when using AJAX?

Hi was almost quitting this and go back to select 3.5.1. But finally I got the answer!

$('#test').select2({
    placeholder: "Select a Country",
    minimumResultsForSearch: 2,
    ajax: {
        url: '...',
        dataType: 'json',
        cache: false,
        data: function (params) {
                var queryParameters = {
                    q: params.term
                }
                return queryParameters;
        },
        processResults: function (data) {
            return {
                results: data.items
            };
        }
    }
});

var option1 = new Option("new",true, true);

$('#status').append(option1);

$('#status').trigger('change');

Just be sure that the new option is one of the select2 options. I get this by a json.

How to read file binary in C#?

Use simple FileStream.Read then print it with Convert.ToString(b, 2)

Comparing two maps

As long as you override equals() on each key and value contained in the map, then m1.equals(m2) should be reliable to check for maps equality.

The same result can be obtained also by comparing toString() of each map as you suggested, but using equals() is a more intuitive approach.

May not be your specific situation, but if you store arrays in the map, may be a little tricky, because they must be compared value by value, or using Arrays.equals(). More details about this see here.

Transposing a 2D-array in JavaScript

Neat and pure:

[[0, 1], [2, 3], [4, 5]].reduce((prev, next) => next.map((item, i) =>
    (prev[i] || []).concat(next[i])
), []); // [[0, 2, 4], [1, 3, 5]]

Previous solutions may lead to failure in case an empty array is provided.

Here it is as a function:

function transpose(array) {
    return array.reduce((prev, next) => next.map((item, i) =>
        (prev[i] || []).concat(next[i])
    ), []);
}

console.log(transpose([[0, 1], [2, 3], [4, 5]]));

Update. It can be written even better with spread operator:

const transpose = matrix => matrix.reduce(
    ($, row) => row.map((_, i) => [...($[i] || []), row[i]]),
    []
)

int array to string

at.net 3.5 use:

 String.Join("", new List<int>(array).ConvertAll(i => i.ToString()).ToArray());

at.net 4.0 or above use: (see @Jan Remunda's answer)

 string result = string.Join("", array);

Break statement in javascript array map method

That's not possible using the built-in Array.prototype.map. However, you could use a simple for-loop instead, if you do not intend to map any values:

var hasValueLessThanTen = false;
for (var i = 0; i < myArray.length; i++) {
  if (myArray[i] < 10) {
    hasValueLessThanTen = true;
    break;
  }
}

Or, as suggested by @RobW, use Array.prototype.some to test if there exists at least one element that is less than 10. It will stop looping when some element that matches your function is found:

var hasValueLessThanTen = myArray.some(function (val) {
  return val < 10;
});

How do synchronized static methods work in Java and can I use it for loading Hibernate entities?

To address the question more generally...

Keep in mind that using synchronized on methods is really just shorthand (assume class is SomeClass):

synchronized static void foo() {
    ...
}

is the same as

static void foo() {
    synchronized(SomeClass.class) {
        ...
    }
}

and

synchronized void foo() {
    ...
}

is the same as

void foo() {
    synchronized(this) {
        ...
    }
}

You can use any object as the lock. If you want to lock subsets of static methods, you can

class SomeClass {
    private static final Object LOCK_1 = new Object() {};
    private static final Object LOCK_2 = new Object() {};
    static void foo() {
        synchronized(LOCK_1) {...}
    }
    static void fee() {
        synchronized(LOCK_1) {...}
    }
    static void fie() {
        synchronized(LOCK_2) {...}
    }
    static void fo() {
        synchronized(LOCK_2) {...}
    }
}

(for non-static methods, you would want to make the locks be non-static fields)

How to pass variable number of arguments to printf/sprintf

have a look at vsnprintf as this will do what ya want http://www.cplusplus.com/reference/clibrary/cstdio/vsprintf/

you will have to init the va_list arg array first, then call it.

Example from that link: /* vsprintf example */

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdarg.h>

void Error (char * format, ...)
{
  char buffer[256];
  va_list args;
  va_start (args, format);
  vsnprintf (buffer, 255, format, args);

  //do something with the error

  va_end (args);
}

How to save final model using keras?

The model has a save method, which saves all the details necessary to reconstitute the model. An example from the keras documentation:

from keras.models import load_model

model.save('my_model.h5')  # creates a HDF5 file 'my_model.h5'
del model # deletes the existing model

# returns a compiled model
# identical to the previous one
model = load_model('my_model.h5')

how to hide <li> bullets in navigation menu and footer links BUT show them for listing items

You can style li elements differently based on their class, their id or their ancestor elements:

li { /* styles all li elements*/
    list-style-type: none;
}

#ParentListID li { /* styles the li elements that have an ancestor element
                      of id="ParentListID" */
    list-style-type: bullet;
}

li.className { /* styles li elements of class="className" */
    list-style-type: bullet;
}

Or, to use the ancestor elements:

#navigationContainerID li { /* specifically styles the li elements with an ancestor of
                               id="navigationContainerID" */
    list-style-type: none;
}

li { /* then styles all other li elements that don't have that ancestor element */
    list-style-type: bullet;
}

How can I get a first element from a sorted list?

If you just want to get the minimum of a list, instead of sorting it and then getting the first element (O(N log N)), you can use do it in linear time using min:

<T extends Object & Comparable<? super T>> T min(Collection<? extends T> coll)

That looks gnarly at first, but looking at your previous questions, you have a List<String>. In short: min works on it.

For the long answer: all that super and extends stuff in the generic type constraints is what Josh Bloch calls the PECS principle (usually presented next to a picture of Arnold -- I'M NOT KIDDING!)

Producer Extends, Consumer Super

It essentially makes generics more powerful, since the constraints are more flexible while still preserving type safety (see: what is the difference between ‘super’ and ‘extends’ in Java Generics)

How to make spring inject value into a static field

I've had a similar requirement: I needed to inject a Spring-managed repository bean into my Person entity class ("entity" as in "something with an identity", for example an JPA entity). A Person instance has friends, and for this Person instance to return its friends, it shall delegate to its repository and query for friends there.

@Entity
public class Person {
    private static PersonRepository personRepository;

    @Id
    @GeneratedValue
    private long id;

    public static void setPersonRepository(PersonRepository personRepository){
        this.personRepository = personRepository;
    }

    public Set<Person> getFriends(){
        return personRepository.getFriends(id);
    }

    ...
}

.

@Repository
public class PersonRepository {

    public Person get Person(long id) {
        // do database-related stuff
    }

    public Set<Person> getFriends(long id) {
        // do database-related stuff
    }

    ...
}

So how did I inject that PersonRepository singleton into the static field of the Person class?

I created a @Configuration, which gets picked up at Spring ApplicationContext construction time. This @Configuration gets injected with all those beans that I need to inject as static fields into other classes. Then with a @PostConstruct annotation, I catch a hook to do all static field injection logic.

@Configuration
public class StaticFieldInjectionConfiguration {

    @Inject
    private PersonRepository personRepository;

    @PostConstruct
    private void init() {
        Person.setPersonRepository(personRepository);
    }
}

How to find a Java Memory Leak

As most of us use Eclipse already for writing code, Why not use the Memory Analyser Tool(MAT) in Eclipse. It works great.

The Eclipse MAT is a set of plug-ins for the Eclipse IDE which provides tools to analyze heap dumps from Java application and to identify memory problems in the application.

This helps the developer to find memory leaks with the following features

  1. Acquiring a memory snapshot (Heap Dump)
  2. Histogram
  3. Retained Heap
  4. Dominator Tree
  5. Exploring Paths to the GC Roots
  6. Inspector
  7. Common Memory Anti-Patterns
  8. Object Query Language

How to save public key from a certificate in .pem format

There are a couple ways to do this.

First, instead of going into openssl command prompt mode, just enter everything on one command line from the Windows prompt:

E:\> openssl x509 -pubkey -noout -in cert.pem  > pubkey.pem

If for some reason, you have to use the openssl command prompt, just enter everything up to the ">". Then OpenSSL will print out the public key info to the screen. You can then copy this and paste it into a file called pubkey.pem.

openssl> x509 -pubkey -noout -in cert.pem

Output will look something like this:

What is an HttpHandler in ASP.NET

An ASP.NET HTTP handler is the process (frequently referred to as the "endpoint") that runs in response to a request made to an ASP.NET Web application. The most common handler is an ASP.NET page handler that processes .aspx files. When users request an .aspx file, the request is processed by the page via the page handler.

The ASP.NET page handler is only one type of handler. ASP.NET comes with several other built-in handlers such as the Web service handler for .asmx files.

You can create custom HTTP handlers when you want special handling that you can identify using file name extensions in your application. For example, the following scenarios would be good uses of custom HTTP handlers:

RSS feeds To create an RSS feed for a site, you can create a handler that emits RSS-formatted XML. You can then bind the .rss extension (for example) in your application to the custom handler. When users send a request to your site that ends in .rss, ASP.NET will call your handler to process the request.

Image server If you want your Web application to serve images in a variety of sizes, you can write a custom handler to resize images and then send them back to the user as the handler's response.

HTTP handlers have access to the application context, including the requesting user's identity (if known), application state, and session information. When an HTTP handler is requested, ASP.NET calls the ProcessRequest method on the appropriate handler. The handler's ProcessRequest method creates a response, which is sent back to the requesting browser. As with any page request, the response goes through any HTTP modules that have subscribed to events that occur after the handler has run.

how to put image in center of html page?

If:

X is image width,
Y is image height,

then:

img {
    position: absolute;
    top: 50%;
    left: 50%;
    margin-left: -(X/2)px;
    margin-top: -(Y/2)px;
}

But keep in mind this solution is valid only if the only element on your site will be this image. I suppose that's the case here.

Using this method gives you the benefit of fluidity. It won't matter how big (or small) someone's screen is. The image will always stay in the middle.

What is "git remote add ..." and "git push origin master"?

git is like UNIX. User friendly but picky about its friends. It's about as powerful and as user friendly as a shell pipeline.

That being said, once you understand its paradigms and concepts, it has the same zenlike clarity that I've come to expect from UNIX command line tools. You should consider taking some time off to read one of the many good git tutorials available online. The Pro Git book is a good place to start.

To answer your first question.

  1. What is git remote add ...

    As you probably know, git is a distributed version control system. Most operations are done locally. To communicate with the outside world, git uses what are called remotes. These are repositories other than the one on your local disk which you can push your changes into (so that other people can see them) or pull from (so that you can get others changes). The command git remote add origin [email protected]:peter/first_app.gitcreates a new remote called origin located at [email protected]:peter/first_app.git. Once you do this, in your push commands, you can push to origin instead of typing out the whole URL.

  2. What is git push origin master

    This is a command that says "push the commits in the local branch named master to the remote named origin". Once this is executed, all the stuff that you last synchronised with origin will be sent to the remote repository and other people will be able to see them there.

Now about transports (i.e. what git://) means. Remote repository URLs can be of many types (file://, https:// etc.). Git simply relies on the authentication mechanism provided by the transport to take care of permissions and stuff. This means that for file:// URLs, it will be UNIX file permissions, etc. The git:// scheme is asking git to use its own internal transport protocol, which is optimised for sending git changesets around. As for the exact URL, it's the way it is because of the way github has set up its git server.

Now the verbosity. The command you've typed is the general one. It's possible to tell git something like "the branch called master over here is local mirror of the branch called foo on the remote called bar". In git speak, this means that master tracks bar/foo. When you clone for the first time, you will get a branch called master and a remote called origin (where you cloned from) with the local master set to track the master on origin. Once this is set up, you can simply say git push and it'll do it. The longer command is available in case you need it (e.g. git push might push to the official public repo and git push review master can be used to push to a separate remote which your team uses to review code). You can set your branch to be a tracking branch using the --set-upstream option of the git branch command.

I've felt that git (unlike most other apps I've used) is better understood from the inside out. Once you understand how data is stored and maintained inside the repository, the commands and what they do become crystal clear. I do agree with you that there's some elitism amongst many git users but I also found that with UNIX users once upon a time, and it was worth ploughing past them to learn the system. Good luck!

Create two blank lines in Markdown

Basically, if the library you are using is CommonMark-compliant, you can add multiple hard line breaks (<br />) easily. Here's a quotation from CommonMark's latest specifications (0.28):

A line break (not in a code span or HTML tag) that is preceded by two or more spaces and does not occur at the end of a block is parsed as a hard line break (rendered in HTML as a
tag)

and then...

For a more visible alternative, a backslash before the line ending may be used instead of two spaces

The specification is quite clear. However, the library I have been using MarkDig, doesn't quite work with the two spaces technique (must be a bug), but it works flawlessly with a backlash.

That said, this input...

Line one\
\
\
\
Line two

will produce four hard line breaks after "Line one". You can see it here (using backlash)...

https://babelmark.github.io/?text=Line+one%5C%0A%5C%0A%5C%0A%5C%0ALine+two%0A

Notice how all CommonMark-compliant implementations will get it right.

Adding close button in div to close the box

jQuery("#your_div_id").remove(); will completely remove the corresponding elements from the HTML DOM. So if you want to show the div on another event without a refresh, it will not be possible to retrieve the removed elements back unless you use AJAX.

jQuery("#your_div_id").toggle("slow"); will also could make unexpected results. As an Example when you select some element on your div which generates another div with a close button(which uses the same close functionality just as your previous div) it could make undesired behaviour.

So without using AJAX, a good solution for the close button would be as follows

HTML____________

<div id="your_div_id">
<span class="close_div" onclick="close_div(1)">&#10006</span>
</div>

JQUERY__________

function close_div(id) {
    if(id === 1) {
        jQuery("#your_div_id").hide();
    }
}

Now you can show the div, when another event occures as you wish... :-)

Label on the left side instead above an input field

I think this is what you want, from the bootstrap documentation "Horizontal form Use Bootstrap's predefined grid classes to align labels and groups of form controls in a horizontal layout by adding .form-horizontal to the form. Doing so changes .form-groups to behave as grid rows, so no need for .row". So:

<form class="form-horizontal" role="form">
<div class="form-group">
  <label for="inputEmail3" class="col-sm-2 control-label">Email</label>
<div class="col-sm-10">
  <input type="email" class="form-control" id="inputEmail3" placeholder="Email">

How to get just numeric part of CSS property with jQuery?

This will clean up all non-digits, non-dots, and not-minus-sign from the string:

$(this).css('marginBottom').replace(/[^-\d\.]/g, '');

UPDATED for negative values

MySQl Error #1064

At first you need to add semi colon (;) after quantity INT NOT NULL) then remove ** from ,genre,quantity)**. to insert a value with numeric data type like int, decimal, float, etc you don't need to add single quote.

Which variable size to use (db, dw, dd) with x86 assembly?

The full list is:

DB, DW, DD, DQ, DT, DDQ, and DO (used to declare initialized data in the output file.)

See: http://www.tortall.net/projects/yasm/manual/html/nasm-pseudop.html

They can be invoked in a wide range of ways: (Note: for Visual-Studio - use "h" instead of "0x" syntax - eg: not 0x55 but 55h instead):

    db      0x55                ; just the byte 0x55
    db 0x55,0x56,0x57 ; three bytes in succession
    db 'a',0x55 ; character constants are OK
    db 'hello',13,10,'$' ; so are string constants
    dw      0x1234              ; 0x34 0x12
    dw      'A'                 ; 0x41 0x00 (it's just a number)
    dw      'AB'                ; 0x41 0x42 (character constant)
    dw      'ABC'               ; 0x41 0x42 0x43 0x00 (string)
    dd      0x12345678          ; 0x78 0x56 0x34 0x12
    dq      0x1122334455667788  ; 0x88 0x77 0x66 0x55 0x44 0x33 0x22 0x11
    ddq     0x112233445566778899aabbccddeeff00
    ; 0x00 0xff 0xee 0xdd 0xcc 0xbb 0xaa 0x99
    ; 0x88 0x77 0x66 0x55 0x44 0x33 0x22 0x11
    do 0x112233445566778899aabbccddeeff00 ; same as previous
    dd      1.234567e20         ; floating-point constant
    dq      1.234567e20         ; double-precision float
    dt      1.234567e20         ; extended-precision float

DT does not accept numeric constants as operands, and DDQ does not accept float constants as operands. Any size larger than DD does not accept strings as operands.

MySQL: selecting rows where a column is null

Info from http://w3schools.com/sql/sql_null_values.asp:

1) NULL values represent missing unknown data.

2) By default, a table column can hold NULL values.

3) NULL values are treated differently from other values

4) It is not possible to compare NULL and 0; they are not equivalent.

5) It is not possible to test for NULL values with comparison operators, such as =, <, or <>.

6) We will have to use the IS NULL and IS NOT NULL operators instead

So in case of your problem:

SELECT pid FROM planets WHERE userid IS NULL

How to change port for jenkins window service when 8080 is being used

You should follow 2 steps:

  1. This step can be followed by running the cmd in the specific folder location where there will be .war file. This step helpful as Jenkins needs some disk space to perform builds and keep archives.

    set JENKINS_HOME=c:\folder\Jenkins

  2. This step will be helpful to change the port number, and works can be performed accordingly.

    java -jar jenkins.war --httpPort=8585

MVC4 DataType.Date EditorFor won't display date value in Chrome, fine in Internet Explorer

Reply to MVC4 DataType.Date EditorFor won't display date value in Chrome, fine in IE

In the Model you need to have following type of declaration:

[DataType(DataType.Date)]
public DateTime? DateXYZ { get; set; }

OR

[DataType(DataType.Date)]
public Nullable<System.DateTime> DateXYZ { get; set; }

You don't need to use following attribute:

[DisplayFormat(DataFormatString = "{0:yyyy-MM-dd}", ApplyFormatInEditMode = true)]

At the Date.cshtml use this template:

@model Nullable<DateTime>
@using System.Globalization;

@{
    DateTime dt = DateTime.Now;
    if (Model != null)
    {
        dt = (System.DateTime)Model;

    }

    if (Request.Browser.Type.ToUpper().Contains("IE") || Request.Browser.Type.Contains("InternetExplorer"))
    {
        @Html.TextBox("", String.Format("{0:d}", dt.ToShortDateString()), new { @class = "datefield", type = "date" })
    }
    else
    {
        //Tested in chrome
        DateTimeFormatInfo dtfi = CultureInfo.CreateSpecificCulture("en-US").DateTimeFormat;
        dtfi.DateSeparator = "-";
        dtfi.ShortDatePattern = @"yyyy/MM/dd";
        @Html.TextBox("", String.Format("{0:d}", dt.ToString("d", dtfi)), new { @class = "datefield", type = "date" })
    }
}

Add multiple items to a list

Thanks to AddRange:

Example:

public class Person
{
    private string Name;
    private string FirstName;

    public Person(string name, string firstname) => (Name, FirstName) = (name, firstname);
}

To add multiple Person to a List<>:

List<Person> listofPersons = new List<Person>();
listofPersons.AddRange(new List<Person>
{
    new Person("John1", "Doe" ),
    new Person("John2", "Doe" ),
    new Person("John3", "Doe" ),
 });

The simplest answer to the meaning of deprecated when used to describe software APIs is:

  • Stop using APIs marked as deprecated!
  • They will go away in a future release!!
  • Start using the new versions ASAP!!!

Where is the Docker daemon log?

For Docker Mac Native (without Boot2Docker or docker-machine, running your Docker installation without extra VirtualBox - which I would recommend over the others), all the answers didn´t work for me. But the Docker docs fortunately came to the rescue.

If you want to see the docker daemon logs on commandline, just type:

syslog -k Sender Docker

Alternatively from Mac OS Sierra on, you can use the newly designed Mac Console App (don´t get confused here with the App "Terminal", the Console App´s icon looks quite similar - I found it with the Launchpad below "Others.."). There´s an article here which describes the general usage of the new Mac OS Sierra Console App, which didn´t make it into the official Docker docs yet.

Inside the Console App just choose system.log and type Docker into the search bar. That´s it. Now you should see all Docker related logs.

Return Boolean Value on SQL Select Statement

For those of you who are interested in getting the value adding a custom column name, this worked for me:

CAST(
    CASE WHEN EXISTS (
           SELECT *
           FROM mytable
           WHERE mytable.id = 1
    )
    THEN TRUE
    ELSE FALSE
    END AS bool)
AS "nameOfMyColumn"

You can skip the double quotes from the column name in case you're not interested in keeping the case sensitivity of the name (in some clients).

I slightly tweaked @Chad's answer for this.

What does the ELIFECYCLE Node.js error mean?

I had this issue when I was running two projects that had the same set up and I already had one running. This meant that the other project couldn't use that port number. As soon as I stopped the other project running I had no issues.

Creating a Zoom Effect on an image on hover using CSS?

Simply:

.grow { transition: all .2s ease-in-out; }

This will allow the element to assign an animation via css.

.grow:hover { transform: scale(1.1); }

This will make it grow!

How to make nginx to listen to server_name:port

The server_namedocs directive is used to identify virtual hosts, they're not used to set the binding.

netstat tells you that nginx listens on 0.0.0.0:80 which means that it will accept connections from any IP.

If you want to change the IP nginx binds on, you have to change the listendocs rule.
So, if you want to set nginx to bind to localhost, you'd change that to:

listen 127.0.0.1:80;

In this way, requests that are not coming from localhost are discarded (they don't even hit nginx).

GET and POST methods with the same Action name in the same Controller

You received the good answer to this question, but I want to add my two cents. You could use one method and process requests according to request type:

public ActionResult Index()
{
    if("GET"==this.HttpContext.Request.RequestType)
    {
        Some Code--Some Code---Some Code for GET
    }
    else if("POST"==this.HttpContext.Request.RequestType)
    {
        Some Code--Some Code---Some Code for POST
    }
    else
    {
        //exception
    }

    return View();
}

What is the difference between method overloading and overriding?

Method overloading deals with the notion of having two or more methods in the same class with the same name but different arguments.

void foo(int a)
void foo(int a, float b)

Method overriding means having two methods with the same arguments, but different implementations. One of them would exist in the parent class, while another will be in the derived, or child class. The @Override annotation, while not required, can be helpful to enforce proper overriding of a method at compile time.

class Parent {
    void foo(double d) {
        // do something
    }
}

class Child extends Parent {

    @Override
    void foo(double d){
        // this method is overridden.
    }
}

Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string in SQL SERVER 2008

If you're trying to insert in to last_accessed_on, which is a DateTime2, then your issue is with the fact that you are converting it to a varchar in a format that SQL doesn't understand.

If you modify your code to this, it should work, note the format of your date has been changed to: YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm:ss:

UPDATE  student_queues
SET  Deleted=0,
     last_accessed_by='raja',
     last_accessed_on=CONVERT(datetime2,'2014-07-23 09:37:00')
WHERE std_id IN ('2144-384-11564') AND reject_details='REJECT'

Or if you want to use CAST, replace with:

CAST('2014-07-23 09:37:00.000' AS datetime2)

This is using the SQL ISO Date Format.

C# Break out of foreach loop after X number of items

Just use break, like that:

int cont = 0;
foreach (ListViewItem lvi in listView.Items) {

      break;
   }
   cont++;   //increment cont.
}

What does 'git blame' do?

The git blame command annotates lines with information from the revision which last modified the line, and... with Git 2.22 (Q2 2019), will do so faster, because of a performance fix around "git blame", especially in a linear history (which is the norm we should optimize for).

See commit f892014 (02 Apr 2019) by David Kastrup (fedelibre). (Merged by Junio C Hamano -- gitster -- in commit 4d8c4da, 25 Apr 2019)

blame.c: don't drop origin blobs as eagerly

When a parent blob already has chunks queued up for blaming, dropping the blob at the end of one blame step will cause it to get reloaded right away, doubling the amount of I/O and unpacking when processing a linear history.

Keeping such parent blobs in memory seems like a reasonable optimization that should incur additional memory pressure mostly when processing the merges from old branches.

Wrong. That doesn't work for me.

How to make the Facebook Like Box responsive?

None of the css trick worked for me (in my case the fb-like box was pulled right with "float:right"). However, what worked without any additional tricks is an IFRAME version of the button code. I.e.:

<iframe src="//www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?href=..."
        scrolling="no" frameborder="0"
        style="border:none; overflow:hidden; width:71px; height:21px;"
        allowTransparency="true">
</iframe>

(Note custom width in style, and no need to include additional javascript.)

How to access Spring context in jUnit tests annotated with @RunWith and @ContextConfiguration?

Since the tests will be instantiated like a Spring bean too, you just need to implement the ApplicationContextAware interface:

@RunWith(SpringJUnit4ClassRunner.class)
@ContextConfiguration(locations = {"/services-test-config.xml"})
public class MySericeTest implements ApplicationContextAware
{

  @Autowired
  MyService service;
...
    @Override
    public void setApplicationContext(ApplicationContext context)
            throws BeansException
    {
        // Do something with the context here
    }
}

Java - Search for files in a directory

If you want to use a dynamic filename filter you can implement FilenameFilter and pass in the constructor the dynamic name.

Of course this implies taht you must instantiate every time the class (overhead), but it works

Example:

public class DynamicFileNameFilter implements FilenameFilter {

    private String comparingname;

    public DynamicFileNameFilter(String comparingName){
        this.comparingname = comparingName;
    }

    @Override
    public boolean accept(File dir, String name) {
        File file = new File(name);

        if (name.equals(comparingname) && !file.isDirectory())
            return false;

        else
            return true;
    }

}

then you use where you need:

FilenameFilter fileNameFilter = new DynamicFileNameFilter("thedynamicNameorpatternYouAreSearchinfor");
File[] matchingFiles = dir.listFiles(fileNameFilter);

mysql: see all open connections to a given database?

In MySql,the following query shall show the total number of open connections:

show status like 'Threads_connected';

Bind failed: Address already in use

Address already in use means that the port you are trying to allocate for your current execution is already occupied/allocated to some other process.

If you are a developer and if you are working on an application which require lots of testing, you might have an instance of your same application running in background (may be you forgot to stop it properly)

So if you encounter this error, just see which application/process is using the port.

In linux try using netstat -tulpn. This command will list down a process list with all running processes.

Check if an application is using your port. If that application or process is another important one then you might want to use another port which is not used by any process/application.

Anyway you can stop the process which uses your port and let your application take it.

If you are in linux environment try,

  • Use netstat -tulpn to display the processes

Closing Twitter Bootstrap Modal From Angular Controller

I have remixed the answer by @isubuz and this answer by @Umur Kontaci on attribute directives into a version where your controller doesn't call a DOM-like operation like "dismiss", but instead tries to be more MVVM style, setting a boolean property isInEditMode. The view in turn links this bit of info to the attribute directive that opens/closes the bootstrap modal.

iOS how to set app icon and launch images

I recently found this App called Icon Set Creator in the App Store which is free, without ads, updated on new changes, straight forward and works just fine for every possible icon size in OSX, iOS and WatchOS:

In Icon Set Creator:

  1. Drag your image into the view
  2. Choose your target platform
  3. Export the Icon Set folder

iconSetCreator

In XCode:

  1. Navigate to the Assets.xcassets Folder
  2. Delete the pre existing AppIcon
  3. Right click -> Import your created Icon-Set as AppIcon and you're done

ValueError: Length of values does not match length of index | Pandas DataFrame.unique()

The error comes up when you are trying to assign a list of numpy array of different length to a data frame, and it can be reproduced as follows:

A data frame of four rows:

df = pd.DataFrame({'A': [1,2,3,4]})

Now trying to assign a list/array of two elements to it:

df['B'] = [3,4]   # or df['B'] = np.array([3,4])

Both errors out:

ValueError: Length of values does not match length of index

Because the data frame has four rows but the list and array has only two elements.

Work around Solution (use with caution): convert the list/array to a pandas Series, and then when you do assignment, missing index in the Series will be filled with NaN:

df['B'] = pd.Series([3,4])

df
#   A     B
#0  1   3.0
#1  2   4.0
#2 3 NaN # NaN because the value at index 2 and 3 doesn't exist in the Series
#3  4   NaN

For your specific problem, if you don't care about the index or the correspondence of values between columns, you can reset index for each column after dropping the duplicates:

df.apply(lambda col: col.drop_duplicates().reset_index(drop=True))

#   A     B
#0  1   1.0
#1  2   5.0
#2  7   9.0
#3  8   NaN

How to set a Fragment tag by code?

    .replace(R.id.MainFrameLayout,fragmentA,"YOUR_TARGET_FRAGMENT_TAG")
    .addToBackStack("YOUR_SOURCE_FRAGMENT_TAG").commit();

How do I get the max and min values from a set of numbers entered?

It is better

public class Main {

    public static void main(String[] args) {

        System.out.print("Enter numbers: ");
        Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);

        double max = Double.MIN_VALUE;
        double min = Double.MAX_VALUE;

        while (true) {

            if ( !input.hasNextDouble())
                break;

            Double num = input.nextDouble();

            min = Math.min(min, num);
            max = Math.max(max, num);

        }
        System.out.println("Max is: " + max);
        System.out.println("Min is: " + min);

Extract MSI from EXE

Starting with parameter:

asks for saving included files (including MSI).

This may depend on the software which created the setup.exe.

javascript push multidimensional array

Arrays must have zero based integer indexes in JavaScript. So:

var valueToPush = new Array();
valueToPush[0] = productID;
valueToPush[1] = itemColorTitle;
valueToPush[2] = itemColorPath;
cookie_value_add.push(valueToPush);

Or maybe you want to use objects (which are associative arrays):

var valueToPush = { }; // or "var valueToPush = new Object();" which is the same
valueToPush["productID"] = productID;
valueToPush["itemColorTitle"] = itemColorTitle;
valueToPush["itemColorPath"] = itemColorPath;
cookie_value_add.push(valueToPush);

which is equivalent to:

var valueToPush = { };
valueToPush.productID = productID;
valueToPush.itemColorTitle = itemColorTitle;
valueToPush.itemColorPath = itemColorPath;
cookie_value_add.push(valueToPush);

It's a really fundamental and crucial difference between JavaScript arrays and JavaScript objects (which are associative arrays) that every JavaScript developer must understand.

.NET Out Of Memory Exception - Used 1.3GB but have 16GB installed

There is no difference until you compile to same target architecture. I suppose you are compiling for 32 bit architecture in both cases.

It's worth mentioning that OutOfMemoryException can also be raised if you get 2GB of memory allocated by a single collection in CLR (say List<T>) on both architectures 32 and 64 bit.

To be able to benefit from memory goodness on 64 bit architecture, you have to compile your code targeting 64 bit architecture. After that, naturally, your binary will run only on 64 bit, but will benefit from possibility having more space available in RAM.

Rails 2.3.4 Persisting Model on Validation Failure

In your controller, render the new action from your create action if validation fails, with an instance variable, @car populated from the user input (i.e., the params hash). Then, in your view, add a logic check (either an if block around the form or a ternary on the helpers, your choice) that automatically sets the value of the form fields to the params values passed in to @car if car exists. That way, the form will be blank on first visit and in theory only be populated on re-render in the case of error. In any case, they will not be populated unless @car is set.

How do I add an existing directory tree to a project in Visual Studio?

I think I found a way to do this with the Compile Include=".\Code***.cs" What I wanted is to include code recursively under my Code folder.

Here is the project file sample.

What is "not assignable to parameter of type never" error in typescript?

I was having same error In ReactJS statless function while using ReactJs Hook useState. I wanted to set state of an object array , so if I use the following way

const [items , setItems] = useState([]);

and update the state like this:

 const item = { id : new Date().getTime() , text : 'New Text' };
 setItems([ item , ...items ]);

I was getting error:

Argument of type '{ id: number; text: any }' is not assignable to parameter of type 'never'

but if do it like this,

const [items , setItems] = useState([{}]);

Error is gone but there is an item at 0 index which don't have any data(don't want that).

so the solution I found is:

const [items , setItems] = useState([] as any);

Java NIO FileChannel versus FileOutputstream performance / usefulness

I tested the performance of FileInputStream vs. FileChannel for decoding base64 encoded files. In my experients I tested rather large file and traditional io was alway a bit faster than nio.

FileChannel might have had an advantage in prior versions of the jvm because of synchonization overhead in several io related classes, but modern jvm are pretty good at removing unneeded locks.

How to insert an object in an ArrayList at a specific position

Note that when you insert into a List at a position, you are really inserting at a dynamic position within the List's current elements. See here:

import java.util.ArrayList;

public class ArrayListDemo {
   public static void main(String[] args) {

      // use add() method to add elements in the list
      arrlist.add(15, 15);
      arrlist.add(22, 22);
      arrlist.add(30, 30);
      arrlist.add(40, 40);

      // adding element 25 at third position
      arrlist.add(2, 25);

      // let us print all the elements available in list

Symfony2 Setting a default choice field selection

If you use Cristian's solution, you'll need to inject the EntityManager into your FormType class. Here is a simplified example:

class EntityType extends AbstractType{
    public function __construct($em) {
        $this->em = $em;
    }

    public function buildForm(FormBuilderInterface $builder, array $options){
         $builder
             ->add('MyEntity', 'entity', array(
                     'class' => 'AcmeDemoBundle:Entity',
                     'property' => 'name',
                     'query_builder' => function(EntityRepository $er) {
                         return $er->createQueryBuilder('e')
                             ->orderBy('e.name', 'ASC');
                     },
                     'data' => $this->em->getReference("AcmeDemoBundle:Entity", 3)
        ));
    }
}

And your controller:

 // ...

 $form = $this->createForm(new EntityType($this->getDoctrine()->getManager()), $entity);

// ...

From Doctrine Docs:

The method EntityManager#getReference($entityName, $identifier) lets you obtain a reference to an entity for which the identifier is known, without loading that entity from the database. This is useful, for example, as a performance enhancement, when you want to establish an association to an entity for which you have the identifier.

Bootstrap carousel multiple frames at once

Can this be done with bootstrap 3's carousel? I'm hoping I won't have to go hunting for yet another jQuery plugin

As of 2013-12-08 the answer is no. The effect you are looking for is not possible using Bootstrap 3's generic carousel plugin. However, here's a simple jQuery plugin that seems to do exactly what you want http://sorgalla.com/jcarousel/

Model summary in pytorch

While you will not get as detailed information about the model as in Keras' model.summary, simply printing the model will give you some idea about the different layers involved and their specifications.

For instance:

from torchvision import models
model = models.vgg16()
print(model)

The output in this case would be something as follows:

VGG (
  (features): Sequential (
    (0): Conv2d(3, 64, kernel_size=(3, 3), stride=(1, 1), padding=(1, 1))
    (1): ReLU (inplace)

    (3): ReLU (inplace)
    (4): MaxPool2d (size=(2, 2), stride=(2, 2), dilation=(1, 1))

Now you could, as mentioned by Kashyap, use the state_dict method to get the weights of the different layers. But using this listing of the layers would perhaps provide more direction is creating a helper function to get that Keras like model summary! Hope this helps!

Programmatically stop execution of python script?

The exit() and quit() built in functions do just what you want. No import of sys needed.

Alternatively, you can raise SystemExit, but you need to be careful not to catch it anywhere (which shouldn't happen as long as you specify the type of exception in all your try.. blocks).

Scala best way of turning a Collection into a Map-by-key?

You can use

c map (t => t.getP -> t) toMap

but be aware that this needs 2 traversals.

How to get column values in one comma separated value

For Oracle versions which does not support the WM_CONCAT, the following can be used

  select "User", RTRIM(
     XMLAGG (XMLELEMENT(e, department||',') ORDER BY department).EXTRACT('//text()') , ','
     ) AS departments
  from yourtable
  group by "User"

This one is much more powerful and flexible - you can specify both delimiters and sort order within each group as in listagg.

Scanner is never closed

I am assuming you are using java 7, thus you get a compiler warning, when you don't close the resource you should close your scanner usually in a finally block.

Scanner scanner = null;
try {
    scanner = new Scanner(System.in);
    //rest of the code
}
finally {
    if(scanner!=null)
        scanner.close();
}

Or even better: use the new Try with resource statement:

try(Scanner scanner = new Scanner(System.in)){
    //rest of your code
}

How can I get the ID of an element using jQuery?

If you want to get an ID of an element, let's say by a class selector, when an event (in this case click event) was fired on that specific element, then the following will do the job:

 $('.your-selector').click(function(){
       var id = $(this).attr('id');
 });

Insert current date/time using now() in a field using MySQL/PHP

What about SYSDATE() ?

<?php
  $db = mysql_connect('localhost','user','pass');
  mysql_select_db('test_db');

  $stmt = "INSERT INTO `test` (`first`,`last`,`whenadded`) VALUES ".
          "('{$first}','{$last}','SYSDATE())";
  $rslt = mysql_query($stmt);
?>

Look at Difference between NOW(), SYSDATE() & CURRENT_DATE() in MySQL for more info about NOW() and SYSDATE().

Update one MySQL table with values from another

UPDATE tobeupdated
INNER JOIN original ON (tobeupdated.value = original.value)
SET tobeupdated.id = original.id

That should do it, and really its doing exactly what yours is. However, I prefer 'JOIN' syntax for joins rather than multiple 'WHERE' conditions, I think its easier to read

As for running slow, how large are the tables? You should have indexes on tobeupdated.value and original.value

EDIT: we can also simplify the query

UPDATE tobeupdated
INNER JOIN original USING (value)
SET tobeupdated.id = original.id

USING is shorthand when both tables of a join have an identical named key such as id. ie an equi-join - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Join_(SQL)#Equi-join

HTML/Javascript change div content

you can use following helper function:

function content(divSelector, value) {
    document.querySelector(divSelector).innerHTML = value;
}

content('#content',"whatever");

Where #content must be valid CSS selector

Here is working example.

Additionaly - today (2018.07.01) I made speed comparison for jquery and pure js solutions ( MacOs High Sierra 10.13.3 on Chrome 67.0.3396.99 (64-bit), Safari 11.0.3 (13604.5.6), Firefox 59.0.2 (64-bit) ):

document.getElementById("content").innerHTML = "whatever"; // pure JS
$('#content').html('whatever');                            // jQuery

enter image description here

The jquery solution was slower than pure js solution: 69% on firefox, 61% on safari, 56% on chrome. The fastest browser for pure js was firefox with 560M operations per second, the second was safari 426M, and slowest was chrome 122M.

So the winners are pure js and firefox (3x faster than chrome!)

You can test it in your machine: https://jsperf.com/js-jquery-html-content-change

Definition of "downstream" and "upstream"

In terms of source control, you're "downstream" when you copy (clone, checkout, etc) from a repository. Information flowed "downstream" to you.

When you make changes, you usually want to send them back "upstream" so they make it into that repository so that everyone pulling from the same source is working with all the same changes. This is mostly a social issue of how everyone can coordinate their work rather than a technical requirement of source control. You want to get your changes into the main project so you're not tracking divergent lines of development.

Sometimes you'll read about package or release managers (the people, not the tool) talking about submitting changes to "upstream". That usually means they had to adjust the original sources so they could create a package for their system. They don't want to keep making those changes, so if they send them "upstream" to the original source, they shouldn't have to deal with the same issue in the next release.

How to call Android contacts list?

-> Add a permission to read contacts data to your application manifest.

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_CONTACTS"/>

-> Use Intent.Action_Pick in your Activity like below

Intent contactPickerIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_PICK,
                ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTENT_URI);
        startActivityForResult(contactPickerIntent, RESULT_PICK_CONTACT);

-> Then Override the onActivityResult()

        // check whether the result is ok
        if (resultCode == RESULT_OK) {

How can I disable mod_security in .htaccess file?

For anyone that simply are looking to bypass the ERROR page to display the content on shared hosting. You might wanna try and use redirect in .htaccess file. If it is say 406 error, on UnoEuro it didn't seem to work simply deactivating the security. So I used this instead:

ErrorDocument 406 /

Then you can always change the error status using PHP. But be aware that in my case doing so means I am opening a door to SQL injections as I am bypassing WAF. So you will need to make sure that you either have your own security measures or enable the security again asap.

How to script FTP upload and download?

Batch files don't work that way. They don't just "type" everything - they run system commands, in this case ftp, wait for them to return, and run the next command... so in this case, the interpreter is simply waiting for ftp to exit.

If you must use the ftp command, then prepare a script file (for example, commands.txt and run ftp -s:commands.txt.

But using cURL, or a PHP/Perl/Python/whatever script may be a better idea.

No Activity found to handle Intent : android.intent.action.VIEW

I had this same issue, so I was looking at the intent which is logged in LogCat. When viewing the video from the Gallery, it called the same Intent.View intent, but set the Type to "audio/*", which fixed my issue, and doesn't require importing MimeTypeMap. Example:

Intent intent = new Intent(android.content.Intent.ACTION_VIEW);
Uri data = Uri.parse(path);
intent.setDataAndType(data, "audio/*");
startActivity(intent);

How to use NSURLConnection to connect with SSL for an untrusted cert?

To complement the accepted answer, for much better security, you could add your server certificate or your own root CA certificate to keychain( https://stackoverflow.com/a/9941559/1432048), however doing this alone won't make NSURLConnection authenticate your self-signed server automatically. You still need to add the below code to your NSURLConnection delegate, it's copied from Apple sample code AdvancedURLConnections, and you need to add two files(Credentials.h, Credentials.m) from apple sample code to your projects.

- (BOOL)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection canAuthenticateAgainstProtectionSpace:(NSURLProtectionSpace *)protectionSpace {
return [protectionSpace.authenticationMethod isEqualToString:NSURLAuthenticationMethodServerTrust];
}

- (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge:(NSURLAuthenticationChallenge *)challenge {
if ([challenge.protectionSpace.authenticationMethod isEqualToString:NSURLAuthenticationMethodServerTrust]) {
//        if ([trustedHosts containsObject:challenge.protectionSpace.host])

    OSStatus                err;
    NSURLProtectionSpace *  protectionSpace;
    SecTrustRef             trust;
    SecTrustResultType      trustResult;
    BOOL                    trusted;

    protectionSpace = [challenge protectionSpace];
    assert(protectionSpace != nil);

    trust = [protectionSpace serverTrust];
    assert(trust != NULL);
    err = SecTrustEvaluate(trust, &trustResult);
    trusted = (err == noErr) && ((trustResult == kSecTrustResultProceed) || (trustResult == kSecTrustResultUnspecified));

    // If that fails, apply our certificates as anchors and see if that helps.
    //
    // It's perfectly acceptable to apply all of our certificates to the SecTrust
    // object, and let the SecTrust object sort out the mess. Of course, this assumes
    // that the user trusts all certificates equally in all situations, which is implicit
    // in our user interface; you could provide a more sophisticated user interface
    // to allow the user to trust certain certificates for certain sites and so on).

    if ( ! trusted ) {
        err = SecTrustSetAnchorCertificates(trust, (CFArrayRef) [Credentials sharedCredentials].certificates);
        if (err == noErr) {
            err = SecTrustEvaluate(trust, &trustResult);
        }
        trusted = (err == noErr) && ((trustResult == kSecTrustResultProceed) || (trustResult == kSecTrustResultUnspecified));
    }
    if(trusted)
        [challenge.sender useCredential:[NSURLCredential credentialForTrust:challenge.protectionSpace.serverTrust] forAuthenticationChallenge:challenge];
}

[challenge.sender continueWithoutCredentialForAuthenticationChallenge:challenge];
}

How do I fix a "Performance counter registry hive consistency" when installing SQL Server R2 Express?

The following solution works for me, you can try it:

  • Write to run : regedit

  • Then open

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows NT -> Perflib

  • Under the /009 and /01F files, right click and select new and choose "multi string value" named it as "Counter" and do these steps again to create "Help" named file. (Important!! it is case sensitive)

  • Copy contents of "Counter" and "Help" files under the "CurrentLanguage" to the /009 and /01F files.

Textarea to resize based on content length

A jquery solution has been implemented, and source code is available in github at: https://github.com/jackmoore/autosize .

Is there a pure CSS way to make an input transparent?

As a general rule, you should never completly remove the outline or :focus style.

https://a11yproject.com/posts/never-remove-css-outlines

...using outline: none without proper fallbacks makes your site significantly less accessible to any keyboard only user, not only those with reduced vision. Make sure to always give your interactive elements a visible indication of focus.

Getting the text that follows after the regex match

You can do this with "just the regular expression" as you asked for in a comment:

(?<=sentence).*

(?<=sentence) is a positive lookbehind assertion. This matches at a certain position in the string, namely at a position right after the text sentence without making that text itself part of the match. Consequently, (?<=sentence).* will match any text after sentence.

This is quite a nice feature of regex. However, in Java this will only work for finite-length subexpressions, i. e. (?<=sentence|word|(foo){1,4}) is legal, but (?<=sentence\s*) isn't.

Comparison of DES, Triple DES, AES, blowfish encryption for data

The encryption methods described are symmetric key block ciphers.

Data Encryption Standard (DES) is the predecessor, encrypting data in 64-bit blocks using a 56 bit key. Each block is encrypted in isolation, which is a security vulnerability.

Triple DES extends the key length of DES by applying three DES operations on each block: an encryption with key 0, a decryption with key 1 and an encryption with key 2. These keys may be related.

DES and 3DES are usually encountered when interfacing with legacy commercial products and services.

AES is considered the successor and modern standard. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Encryption_Standard

I believe the use of Blowfish is discouraged.

It is highly recommended that you do not attempt to implement your own cryptography and instead use a high-level implementation such as GPG for data at rest or SSL/TLS for data in transit. Here is an excellent and sobering video on encryption vulnerabilities http://rdist.root.org/2009/08/06/google-tech-talk-on-common-crypto-flaws/

Nothing. LEFT JOIN and LEFT OUTER JOIN are equivalent.

no debugging symbols found when using gdb

Some Linux distributions don't use the gdb style debugging symbols. (IIRC they prefer dwarf2.)

In general, gcc and gdb will be in sync as to what kind of debugging symbols they use, and forcing a particular style will just cause problems; unless you know that you need something else, use just -g.

//Set timer switch

        if (!$(this).parent().hasClass('dropdown'))
            $(".navbar-collapse").collapse('hide');

        $setM_swith=1;
        setTimeout(function(){
           if($setM_swith==1) {
             $(".navbar-collapse").collapse('hide');
             $setM_swith=0;}

Copy files without overwrite

You can try this:

echo n | copy /-y <SOURCE> <DESTINATION>

-y simply prompts before overwriting and we can pipe n to all those questions. So this would in essence just copy non-existing files. :)

turn typescript object into json string

TS gets compiled to JS which then executed. Therefore you have access to all of the objects in the JS runtime. One of those objects is the JSON object. This contains the following methods:

  • JSON.parse() method parses a JSON string, constructing the JavaScript value or object described by the string.
  • JSON.stringify() method converts a JavaScript object or value to a JSON string.

Example:

making a paragraph in html contain a text from a file

You can do something like that in pure html using an <object> tag:
<div><object data="file.txt"></object></div>

This method has some limitations though, like, it won't fit size of the block to the content - you have to specify width and height manually. And styles won't be applied to the text.

Calculating sum of repeated elements in AngularJS ng-repeat

here is my solution to this problem:

<td>Total: {{ calculateTotal() }}</td>

script

$scope.calculateVAT = function () {
    return $scope.cart.products.reduce((accumulator, currentValue) => accumulator + (currentValue.price * currentValue.quantity), 0);
};

reduce will execute for each product in products array. Accumulator is the total accumulated amount, currentValue is the current element of the array and the 0 in the last is the initial value

Conversion from Long to Double in Java

Or you could get double from Long object as :

Long l = new Long(15552451L);
double d = l.doubleValue();

How to create bitmap from byte array?

You'll need to get those bytes into a MemoryStream:

Bitmap bmp;
using (var ms = new MemoryStream(imageData))
{
    bmp = new Bitmap(ms);
}

That uses the Bitmap(Stream stream) constructor overload.

UPDATE: keep in mind that according to the documentation, and the source code I've been reading through, an ArgumentException will be thrown on these conditions:

stream does not contain image data or is null.
-or-
stream contains a PNG image file with a single dimension greater than 65,535 pixels.

OS X Terminal Colors

You can use the Linux based syntax in one of your startup scripts. Just tested this on an OS X Mountain Lion box.

eg. in your ~/.bash_profile

export TERM="xterm-color"
export PS1='\[\e[0;33m\]\u\[\e[0m\]@\[\e[0;32m\]\h\[\e[0m\]:\[\e[0;34m\]\w\[\e[0m\]\$ '

This gives you a nice colored prompt. To add the colored ls output, you can add alias ls="ls -G".

To test, just run a source ~/.bash_profile to update your current terminal.

Side note about the colors: The colors are preceded by an escape sequence \e and defined by a color value, composed of [style;color+m] and wrapped in an escaped [] sequence. eg.

  • red = \[\e[0;31m\]
  • bold red (style 1) = \[\e[1;31m\]
  • clear coloring = \[\e[0m\]

I always add a slightly modified color-scheme in the root's .bash_profile to make the username red, so I always see clearly if I'm logged in as root (handy to avoid mistakes if I have many terminal windows open).

In /root/.bash_profile:

PS1='\[\e[0;31m\]\u\[\e[0m\]@\[\e[0;32m\]\h\[\e[0m\]:\[\e[0;34m\]\w\[\e[0m\]\$ '

For all my SSH accounts online I make sure to put the hostname in red, to distinguish if I'm in a local or remote terminal. Just edit the .bash_profile file in your home dir on the server.. If there is no .bash_profile file on the server, you can create it and it should be sourced upon login.

If this is not working as expected for you, please read some of the comments below since I'm not using MacOS very often..

If you want to do this on a remote server, check if the ~/.bash_profile file exists. If not, simply create it and it should be automatically sourced upon your next login.

How to convert a string with Unicode encoding to a string of letters

How do I go about adding an image into a java project with eclipse?

You can resave the image and literally find the src file of your project and add it to that when you save. For me I had to go to netbeans and found my project and when that comes up it had 3 files src was the last. Don't click on any of them just save your pic there. That should work. Now resizing it may be a different issue and one I'm working on now lol

Sending Multipart File as POST parameters with RestTemplate requests

I had this issue and found a much simpler solution than using a ByteArrayResource.

Simply do

public void loadInvoices(MultipartFile invoices, String channel) throws IOException {

    init();

    Resource invoicesResource = invoices.getResource();

    LinkedMultiValueMap<String, Object> parts = new LinkedMultiValueMap<>();
    parts.add("file", invoicesResource);

    HttpHeaders httpHeaders = new HttpHeaders();
    httpHeaders.setContentType(MediaType.MULTIPART_FORM_DATA);
    httpHeaders.set("channel", channel);

    HttpEntity<LinkedMultiValueMap<String, Object>> httpEntity = new HttpEntity<>(parts, httpHeaders);

    String url = String.format("%s/rest/inbound/invoices/upload", baseUrl);

    restTemplate.postForEntity(url, httpEntity, JobData.class);
}

It works, and no messing around with the file system or byte arrays.

How can I get the last day of the month in C#?

Something like:

DateTime today = DateTime.Today;
DateTime endOfMonth = new DateTime(today.Year, today.Month, 1).AddMonths(1).AddDays(-1);

Which is to say that you get the first day of next month, then subtract a day. The framework code will handle month length, leap years and such things.

What are libtool's .la file for?

I found very good explanation about .la files here http://openbooks.sourceforge.net/books/wga/dealing-with-libraries.html

Summary (The way I understood): Because libtool deals with static and dynamic libraries internally (through --diable-shared or --disable-static) it creates a wrapper on the library files it builds. They are treated as binary library files with in libtool supported environment.

Pandas join issue: columns overlap but no suffix specified

Your error on the snippet of data you posted is a little cryptic, in that because there are no common values, the join operation fails because the values don't overlap it requires you to supply a suffix for the left and right hand side:

In [173]:

df_a.join(df_b, on='mukey', how='left', lsuffix='_left', rsuffix='_right')
Out[173]:
       mukey_left  DI  PI  mukey_right  niccdcd
index
0          100000  35  14          NaN      NaN
1         1000005  44  14          NaN      NaN
2         1000006  44  14          NaN      NaN
3         1000007  43  13          NaN      NaN
4         1000008  43  13          NaN      NaN

merge works because it doesn't have this restriction:

In [176]:

df_a.merge(df_b, on='mukey', how='left')
Out[176]:
     mukey  DI  PI  niccdcd
0   100000  35  14      NaN
1  1000005  44  14      NaN
2  1000006  44  14      NaN
3  1000007  43  13      NaN
4  1000008  43  13      NaN

A good Sorted List for Java

Phuong:

Sorting 40,000 random numbers:

0.022 seconds

import java.util.ArrayList;
import java.util.Collections;
import java.util.List;
import java.util.Random;

public class test
{
    public static void main(String[] args)
    {
        List<Integer> nums = new ArrayList<Integer>();
        Random rand = new Random();
        for( int i = 0; i < 40000; i++ )
        {
            nums.add( rand.nextInt(Integer.MAX_VALUE) );
        }

        long start = System.nanoTime();
        Collections.sort(nums);
        long end = System.nanoTime();

        System.out.println((end-start)/1e9);
    }
}

Since you rarely need sorting, as per your problem statement, this is probably more efficient than it needs to be.

How to set time to a date object in java

If you don't have access to java 8 and the API java.time, here is my simple function to copy the time of one date to another date using the old java.util.Calendar (inspire by Jigar Joshi) :

/**

 */
public static Date copyTimeToDate(Date date, Date time) {
    Calendar t = Calendar.getInstance();
    t.setTime(time);

    Calendar c = Calendar.getInstance();
    c.setTime(date);
    c.set(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY, t.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY));
    c.set(Calendar.MINUTE, t.get(Calendar.MINUTE));
    c.set(Calendar.SECOND, t.get(Calendar.SECOND));
    c.set(Calendar.MILLISECOND, t.get(Calendar.MILLISECOND));
    return c.getTime();

    • dequeue and return the last item of queue1, then switch the names of queue1 and queue2

Version B (efficient pop):

  • push:

How to find MySQL process list and to kill those processes?

Here is the solution:

  1. Login to DB;
  2. Run a command show full processlist;to get the process id with status and query itself which causes the database hanging;
  3. Select the process id and run a command KILL <pid>; to kill that process.

Sometimes it is not enough to kill each process manually. So, for that we've to go with some trick:

  1. Login to MySQL;
  2. Run a query Select concat('KILL ',id,';') from information_schema.processlist where user='user'; to print all processes with KILL command;
  3. Copy the query result, paste and remove a pipe | sign, copy and paste all again into the query console. HIT ENTER. BooM it's done.

UnsupportedClassVersionError: JVMCFRE003 bad major version in WebSphere AS 7

At first you should check major version of compiled problematic .class file, in your case map/CareMonths. See this answer how to do it.

WAS7 uses Java 6 (as said Jacek), and Java 6 uses major version 50, so you have to compile your project with Java 6. How to set proper version of Java compiler depends on your IDE (e.g. Eclipse, IntelliJ) or build tool (e.g. Maven, Ant).

Add legend to ggplot2 line plot

I tend to find that if I'm specifying individual colours in multiple geom's, I'm doing it wrong. Here's how I would plot your data:

##Subset the necessary columns
dd_sub = datos[,c(20, 2,3,5)]
##Then rearrange your data frame
library(reshape2)
dd = melt(dd_sub, id=c("fecha"))

All that's left is a simple ggplot command:

ggplot(dd) + geom_line(aes(x=fecha, y=value, colour=variable)) +
  scale_colour_manual(values=c("red","green","blue"))

How to display an image stored as byte array in HTML/JavaScript?

Try putting this HTML snippet into your served document:

<img id="ItemPreview" src="">

Then, on JavaScript side, you can dynamically modify image's src attribute with so-called Data URL.

document.getElementById("ItemPreview").src = "data:image/png;base64," + yourByteArrayAsBase64;

Alternatively, using jQuery:

$('#ItemPreview').attr('src', `data:image/png;base64,${yourByteArrayAsBase64}`);

This assumes that your image is stored in PNG format, which is quite popular. If you use some other image format (e.g. JPEG), modify the MIME type ("image/..." part) in the URL accordingly.

adding a datatable in a dataset

I assume that you haven't set the TableName property of the DataTable, for example via constructor:

var tbl = new DataTable("dtImage");

If you don't provide a name, it will be automatically created with "Table1", the next table will get "Table2" and so on.

Then the solution would be to provide the TableName and then check with Contains(nameOfTable).

To clarify it: You'll get an ArgumentException if that DataTable already belongs to the DataSet (the same reference). You'll get a DuplicateNameException if there's already a DataTable in the DataSet with the same name(not case-sensitive).

How to get bitmap from a url in android?

Okay so you are trying to get a bitmap from a file? Title says URL. Anyways, when you are getting files from external storage in Android you should never use a direct path. Instead call getExternalStorageDirectory() like so:

File bitmapFile = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory() + "/" + PATH_TO_IMAGE);
Bitmap bitmap = BitmapFactory.decodeFile(bitmapFile);

getExternalStorageDirectory() gives you the path to the SD card. Also you need to declare the WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission in the Manifest.

If this is what you mean, you can simply extend the class you would like to typedef, e.g.:

public class MyMap extends HashMap<String, String> {}

Add unique constraint to combination of two columns

In my case, I needed to allow many inactives and only one combination of two keys active, like this:

UUL_USR_IDF  UUL_UND_IDF    UUL_ATUAL
137          18             0
137          19             0
137          20             1
137          21             0

This seems to work:

CREATE UNIQUE NONCLUSTERED INDEX UQ_USR_UND_UUL_USR_IDF_UUL_ATUAL
ON USER_UND(UUL_USR_IDF, UUL_ATUAL)
WHERE UUL_ATUAL = 1;

Here are my test cases:

SELECT * FROM USER_UND WHERE UUL_USR_IDF = 137

insert into USER_UND values (137, 22, 1) --I CAN NOT => Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.USER_UND' with unique index 'UQ_USR_UND_UUL_USR_IDF_UUL_ATUAL'. The duplicate key value is (137, 1).
insert into USER_UND values (137, 23, 0) --I CAN
insert into USER_UND values (137, 24, 0) --I CAN

DELETE FROM USER_UND WHERE UUL_USR_ID = 137

insert into USER_UND values (137, 22, 1) --I CAN
insert into USER_UND values (137, 27, 1) --I CAN NOT => Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.USER_UND' with unique index 'UQ_USR_UND_UUL_USR_IDF_UUL_ATUAL'. The duplicate key value is (137, 1).
insert into USER_UND values (137, 28, 0) --I CAN
insert into USER_UND values (137, 29, 0) --I CAN

R: numeric 'envir' arg not of length one in predict()

There are several problems here:

  1. The newdata argument of predict() needs a predictor variable. You should thus pass it values for Coupon, instead of Total, which is the response variable in your model.

  2. The predictor variable needs to be passed in as a named column in a data frame, so that predict() knows what the numbers its been handed represent. (The need for this becomes clear when you consider more complicated models, having more than one predictor variable).

  3. For this to work, your original call should pass df in through the data argument, rather than using it directly in your formula. (This way, the name of the column in newdata will be able to match the name on the RHS of the formula).

With those changes incorporated, this will work:

model <- lm(Total ~ Coupon, data=df)
new <- data.frame(Coupon = df$Coupon)
predict(model, newdata = new, interval="confidence")

Token based authentication in Web API without any user interface

I think there is some confusion about the difference between MVC and Web Api. In short, for MVC you can use a login form and create a session using cookies. For Web Api there is no session. That's why you want to use the token.

You do not need a login form. The Token endpoint is all you need. Like Win described you'll send the credentials to the token endpoint where it is handled.

Here's some client side C# code to get a token:

    //using System;
    //using System.Collections.Generic;
    //using System.Net;
    //using System.Net.Http;
    //string token = GetToken("https://localhost:<port>/", userName, password);

    static string GetToken(string url, string userName, string password) {
        var pairs = new List<KeyValuePair<string, string>>
                    {
                        new KeyValuePair<string, string>( "grant_type", "password" ),
                        new KeyValuePair<string, string>( "username", userName ),
                        new KeyValuePair<string, string> ( "Password", password )
                    };
        var content = new FormUrlEncodedContent(pairs);
        ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback += (sender, cert, chain, sslPolicyErrors) => true;
        using (var client = new HttpClient()) {
            var response = client.PostAsync(url + "Token", content).Result;
            return response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync().Result;
        }
    }

In order to use the token add it to the header of the request:

    //using System;
    //using System.Collections.Generic;
    //using System.Net;
    //using System.Net.Http;
    //var result = CallApi("https://localhost:<port>/something", token);

    static string CallApi(string url, string token) {
        ServicePointManager.ServerCertificateValidationCallback += (sender, cert, chain, sslPolicyErrors) => true;
        using (var client = new HttpClient()) {
            if (!string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(token)) {
                var t = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject<Token>(token);

                client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Clear();
                client.DefaultRequestHeaders.Add("Authorization", "Bearer " + t.access_token);
            }
            var response = client.GetAsync(url).Result;
            return response.Content.ReadAsStringAsync().Result;
        }
    }

Where Token is:

//using Newtonsoft.Json;

class Token
{
    public string access_token { get; set; }
    public string token_type { get; set; }
    public int expires_in { get; set; }
    public string userName { get; set; }
    [JsonProperty(".issued")]
    public string issued { get; set; }
    [JsonProperty(".expires")]
    public string expires { get; set; }
}

Now for the server side:

In Startup.Auth.cs

        var oAuthOptions = new OAuthAuthorizationServerOptions
        {
            TokenEndpointPath = new PathString("/Token"),
            Provider = new ApplicationOAuthProvider("self"),
            AccessTokenExpireTimeSpan = TimeSpan.FromDays(14),
            // https
            AllowInsecureHttp = false
        };
        // Enable the application to use bearer tokens to authenticate users
        app.UseOAuthBearerTokens(oAuthOptions);

And in ApplicationOAuthProvider.cs the code that actually grants or denies access:

//using Microsoft.AspNet.Identity.Owin;
//using Microsoft.Owin.Security;
//using Microsoft.Owin.Security.OAuth;
//using System;
//using System.Collections.Generic;
//using System.Security.Claims;
//using System.Threading.Tasks;

public class ApplicationOAuthProvider : OAuthAuthorizationServerProvider
{
    private readonly string _publicClientId;

    public ApplicationOAuthProvider(string publicClientId)
    {
        if (publicClientId == null)
            throw new ArgumentNullException("publicClientId");

        _publicClientId = publicClientId;
    }

    public override async Task GrantResourceOwnerCredentials(OAuthGrantResourceOwnerCredentialsContext context)
    {
        var userManager = context.OwinContext.GetUserManager<ApplicationUserManager>();

        var user = await userManager.FindAsync(context.UserName, context.Password);
        if (user == null)
        {
            context.SetError("invalid_grant", "The user name or password is incorrect.");
            return;
        }

        ClaimsIdentity oAuthIdentity = await user.GenerateUserIdentityAsync(userManager);
        var propertyDictionary = new Dictionary<string, string> { { "userName", user.UserName } };
        var properties = new AuthenticationProperties(propertyDictionary);

        AuthenticationTicket ticket = new AuthenticationTicket(oAuthIdentity, properties);
        // Token is validated.
        context.Validated(ticket);
    }

    public override Task TokenEndpoint(OAuthTokenEndpointContext context)
    {
        foreach (KeyValuePair<string, string> property in context.Properties.Dictionary)
        {
            context.AdditionalResponseParameters.Add(property.Key, property.Value);
        }
        return Task.FromResult<object>(null);
    }

    public override Task ValidateClientAuthentication(OAuthValidateClientAuthenticationContext context)
    {
        // Resource owner password credentials does not provide a client ID.
        if (context.ClientId == null)
            context.Validated();

        return Task.FromResult<object>(null);
    }

    public override Task ValidateClientRedirectUri(OAuthValidateClientRedirectUriContext context)
    {
        if (context.ClientId == _publicClientId)
        {
            var expectedRootUri = new Uri(context.Request.Uri, "/");

            if (expectedRootUri.AbsoluteUri == context.RedirectUri)
                context.Validated();
        }
        return Task.FromResult<object>(null);
    }

}

As you can see there is no controller involved in retrieving the token. In fact, you can remove all MVC references if you want a Web Api only. I have simplified the server side code to make it more readable. You can add code to upgrade the security.

Make sure you use SSL only. Implement the RequireHttpsAttribute to force this.

You can use the Authorize / AllowAnonymous attributes to secure your Web Api. Additionally you can add filters (like RequireHttpsAttribute) to make your Web Api more secure. I hope this helps.

how to write value into cell with vba code without auto type conversion?

This is probably too late, but I had a similar problem with dates that I wanted entered into cells from a text variable. Inevitably, it converted my variable text value to a date. What I finally had to do was concatentate a ' to the string variable and then put it in the cell like this:

prvt_rng_WrkSht.Cells(prvt_rng_WrkSht.Rows.Count, cnst_int_Col_Start_Date).Formula = "'" & _
    param_cls_shift.Start_Date (string property of my class)

What is the best way to convert seconds into (Hour:Minutes:Seconds:Milliseconds) time?

In VB.NET, but it's the same in C#:

debug.print(x.ToString())
' Will print 00:01:20

Use pip download <package1 package2 package n> to download all the packages including dependencies

Use pip install --no-index --find-links . <package1 package2 package n> to install all the packages including dependencies. It gets all the files from CWD. It will not download anything

how to show confirmation alert with three buttons 'Yes' 'No' and 'Cancel' as it shows in MS Word

This cannot be done with the native javascript dialog box, but a lot of javascript libraries include more flexible dialogs. You can use something like jQuery UI's dialog box for this.

Here's an example, as demonstrated in this jsFiddle:

Function stoi not declared

I managed to fix this problem by adding the following lines to my CMakeLists.txt:

set(CMAKE_C_FLAGS "${CMAKE_C_FLAGS}  -Wall  -O3 -march=native ")
set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} -Wall   -O3 -march=native")

# Check C++11 or C++0x support
include(CheckCXXCompilerFlag)
CHECK_CXX_COMPILER_FLAG("-std=c++11" COMPILER_SUPPORTS_CXX11)
CHECK_CXX_COMPILER_FLAG("-std=c++0x" COMPILER_SUPPORTS_CXX0X)
if(COMPILER_SUPPORTS_CXX11)
   set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} -std=c++11")
   add_definitions(-DCOMPILEDWITHC11)
   message(STATUS "Using flag -std=c++11.")
elseif(COMPILER_SUPPORTS_CXX0X)
   set(CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS "${CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS} -std=c++0x")
   add_definitions(-DCOMPILEDWITHC0X)
   message(STATUS "Using flag -std=c++0x.")
else()
   message(FATAL_ERROR "The compiler ${CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER} has no C++11 support. Please use a different C++ compiler.")
endif()

As mentioned by the other fellows, that is the -std=c++11 issue.

Python Requests and persistent sessions

You can easily create a persistent session using:

s = requests.Session()

After that, continue with your requests as you would:

s.post('https://localhost/login.py', login_data)
#logged in! cookies saved for future requests.
r2 = s.get('https://localhost/profile_data.json', ...)
#cookies sent automatically!
#do whatever, s will keep your cookies intact :)

Use jQuery to get the file input's selected filename without the path

Get the first file from the control and then get the name of the file, it will ignore the file path on Chrome, and also will make correction of path for IE browsers. On saving the file, you have to use System.io.Path.GetFileName method to get the file name only for IE browsers

var fileUpload    = $("#ContentPlaceHolder1_FileUpload_mediaFile").get(0);
var files         =  fileUpload.files;
var mediafilename = "";

for (var i = 0; i < files.length; i++) {
  mediafilename = files[i].name;
}

no matching function for call to ' '

You are trying to pass pointers (which you do not delete, thus leaking memory) where references are needed. You do not really need pointers here:

Complex firstComplexNumber(81, 93);
Complex secondComplexNumber(31, 19);

cout << "Numarul complex este: " << firstComplexNumber << endl;
// ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ No need to dereference now

// ...

Complex::distanta(firstComplexNumber, secondComplexNumber);

How to use environment variables in docker compose

The best way is to specify environment variables outside the docker-compose.yml file. You can use env_file setting, and define your environment file within the same line. Then doing a docker-compose up again should recreate the containers with the new environment variables.

Here is how my docker-compose.yml looks like:

services:
  web:
    env_file: variables.env

Note: docker-compose expects each line in an env file to be in VAR=VAL format. Avoid using export inside the .env file. Also, the .env file should be placed in the folder where the docker-compose command is executed.

Tomcat base URL redirection

Take a look at UrlRewriteFilter which is essentially a java-based implementation of Apache's mod_rewrite.

You'll need to extract it into ROOT folder under your Tomcat's webapps folder; you can then configure redirects to any other context within its WEB-INF/urlrewrite.xml configuration file.
