This exception message doesn't mean it requires a primary key to be defined in your database, it means it requires a primary key to be defined in your class.

This is a very common pattern when working with MVVM. In theory you could do the conversion yourself on the ViewModel property (i.e. just make the property itself of type Visibility
) though I would prefer not to do that, since now you are messing with the separation of concerns. An item's visbility should really be up to the View.
You could use the ViewCommand design pattern. It describes a method for the MVVM design pattern to control a View from a ViewModel with commands.
I've implemented it based on King A.Majid's suggestion to use the MVVM Light Messenger class. The ViewCommandManager class handles invoking commands in connected views. It's basically the other direction of regular Commands, for these cases when a ViewModel needs to do some action in its View. It uses reflection like data-bound commands and WeakReferences to avoid memory leaks.

The problem with using the PasswordBox is that it is not very MVVM friendly due to the fact that it works with SecureString and therefore requires a shim to bind it to a String. You also cannot use the clipboard. While all these things are there for a reason, you may not require that level of security. Here is an alternative approach that works with the clipboard, nothing fancy. You make the TextBox text and background transparent and bind the text to a TextBlock underneath it. This textblock converts characters to * using the converter specified.

I came across this page looking for the same answer as the original author, and proving there's always more than one way to do it, the solution for me was even easier than the answers provided here so far, so I figured I might as well add to the pile.
The motivation for the binding is to keep it nice & MVVM. The probable usage of the ViewModel is to have a property w/ a name such as "CurrentThingy", and somewhere else, the DataContext on some other thing is bound to "CurrentThingy".
Rather than going through additional steps required (eg: custom behavior, 3rd party control) to support a nice binding from the TreeView to my Model, and then from something else to my Model, my solution was to use simple Element binding the other thing to TreeView.SelectedItem, rather than binding the other thing to my ViewModel, thereby skipping the extra work required.
XAML:

I think in your case there is probably no reason to not pick Varchar. It gives you flexibility and as has been mentioned by a number of respondants, performance is such now that except in very specific circumstances us meer mortals (as opposed to Google DBA's) will not notice the difference.
An interesting thing worth noting when it comes to DB Types is the sqlite (a popular mini database with pretty impressive performance) puts everything into the database as a string and types on the fly.
I always use VarChar and usually make it much bigger than I might strickly need. Eg. 50 for Firstname, as you say why not just to be safe.

All these answers are referring to an overall ORDER BY once the record set has been retrieved and you sort the lot.
What if you want to ORDER BY each portion of the UNION independantly, and still have them "joined" in the same SELECT?

Note the TOP 1000 is an arbitary number. Use a big enough number to capture all of the data you require.
First of all, try to support open source developers when you can, they invest quite a lot of their (free) time into these packages. But if you want to get rid of funding messages, you can configure NPM to turn these off. The command to do this is:

In some cases, there will be a consideration such as performance which justifies pulling the variable out of the loop.
In your example, the program creates and destroys the string each time. Some libraries use a small string optimization (SSO), so the dynamic allocation could be avoided in some cases.
Suppose you wanted to avoid those redundant creations/allocations, you would write it as:

would still require a physical copy of the characters at each iteration, but the form could result in one dynamic allocation because you assign the string and the implementation should see there is no need to resize the string's backing allocation. Of course, you wouldn't do that in this example (because multiple superior alternatives have already been demonstrated), but you might consider it when the string or vector's content varies.
So what do you do with all those options (and more)? Keep it very close as a default -- until you understand the costs well and know when you should deviate.

I am still in my early days with angular js. I know that we should not manipulate the DOM inside the controllers. So I have the DOM manipulation in the directive. I am not sure if this is equally bad. If I have a better alternative, I shall post it here.
The important thing to note is that we cannot simply use ng-hide or ng-show in the view to hide or show the modal. That simply hides the modal and not the modal backdrop. We have to call the modal() instance method to completely remove the modal.
Just double click on the break and it will collaspe. However, it will still display the line where it will break but it's better than downloading add-ons etc.

Unfortunately, you can only have one app.config file per executable, so if you have DLL’s linked into your application, they cannot have their own app.config files.
Solution is:
You don't need to put the App.config file in the Class Library's project.
You put the App.config file in the application that is referencing your class

The whole reason for having kubernetes is so it manages the containers for you so you don't have to care so much about the lifecyle of the containers in the pod.
Since you have a deployment
setup that uses replica set

I think the main difference is security.
Windows Authentication means that the identity is handled as part of the windows handashaking and now password is ever 'out there' for interception.
SQL Authentication means that you have to store (or provide) a username and a password yourself making it much easier to breach. A heap of effort has gone into making windows authentication very robust and secure.
Might I suggest that if you do implement Windows Authentication use Groups and Roles to do it. Groups in Windows and Roles in SQL. Having to setup lots of users in SQL is a big pain when you can just setup the group and then add each user to the group. (I think most security should be done this way anyway).

If you already have a settings.xml file, you should merge this into your existing file. I.e. <settings

I had to restart Eclipse for it to load data into the new repository. Neither "Update Settings" nor "Reindex" was sufficient.

A hash code is a numeric value that is used to identify an object during equality testing. It can also serve as an index for an object in a collection.
The GetHashCode method is suitable for use in hashing algorithms and data structures such as a hash table.
The default implementation of the GetHashCode method does not guarantee unique return values for different objects. Furthermore, the .NET Framework does not guarantee the default implementation of the GetHashCode method, and the value it returns will be the same between different versions of the .NET Framework. Consequently, the default implementation of this method must not be used as a unique object identifier for hashing purposes.
The GetHashCode method can be overridden by a derived type. Value types must override this method to provide a hash function that is appropriate for that type and to provide a useful distribution in a hash table. For uniqueness, the hash code must be based on the value of an instance field or property instead of a static field or property.
Objects used as a key in a Hashtable object must also override the GetHashCode method because those objects must generate their own hash code. If an object used as a key does not provide a useful implementation of GetHashCode, you can specify a hash code provider when the Hashtable object is constructed. Prior to the .NET Framework version 2.0, the hash code provider was based on the System.Collections.IHashCodeProvider interface. makes sense. In my experience the only time this is a viable option is when you are using dynamic SQL. Before you explore whether this makes sense in your situation I would recommend rebuilding your statistics. This can be done by running the following:

And then recreating your execution plan. This will ensure that when your execution plan is created it will be using the latest information.
Adding OPTION(RECOMPILE)
rebuilds the execution plan every time that your query executes. I have never heard that described as creates a new lookup strategy
but maybe we are just using different terms for the same thing.
When a stored procedure is created (I suspect you are calling ad-hoc sql from .NET but if you are using a parameterized query then this ends up being a stored proc call) SQL Server attempts to determine the most effective execution plan for this query based on the data in your database and the parameters passed in (parameter sniffing), and then caches this plan. This means that if you create the query where there are 10 records in your database and then execute it when there are 100,000,000 records the cached execution plan may no longer be the most effective.
In summary - I don't see any reason that OPTION(RECOMPILE)
would be a benefit here. I suspect you just need to update your statistics and your execution plan. Rebuilding statistics can be an essential part of DBA work depending on your situation. If you are still having problems after updating your stats, I would suggest posting both execution plans.
And to answer your question - yes, I would say it is highly unusual for your best option to be recompiling the execution plan every time you execute the query.

In case anybody comes back to this, I think the problem here was failing to install the parent pom first, which all these submodules depend on, so the Maven Reactor can't collect the necessary dependencies to build the submodule.
So from the root directory (here D:\luna_workspace\empire_club\empirecl
) it probably just needs a:
mvn clean install
(Aside: <relativePath>../pom.xml</relativePath>
is not really necessary as it's the default value).

I noticed that the error was caused by me passing table field names as variables i.e. I sent:

It's just the method. You're not missing anything. The official documentation shows that you can use list unpacking to supply several paths:

Just remember, having "100% code-coverage" doesn't mean everything is tested completely - while it means every line of code is tested, it doesn't mean they are tested under every (common) situation..
I would use code-coverage to highlight bits of code that I should probably write tests for. For example, if whatever code-coverage tool shows myImportantFunction() isn't executed while running my current unit-tests, they should probably be improved.
Basically, 100% code-coverage doesn't mean your code is perfect. Use it as a guide to write more comprehensive (unit-)tests.
What happens here is that the the vendored versions of request/urllib3 clash when imported in two different places (same code, but different names). If you then have a network error, it doesn't retry to get the wheel, but fails with the above error. See here for a deeper dive into this error.

I think you are confused about how the compiler puts things together. When you use -c
flag, i.e. no linking is done, the input is C++ code, and the output is object code. The .o
files thus don't mix with -c
, and compiler warns you about that. Symbols from object file are not moved to other object files like that.
All object files should be on the final linker invocation, which is not the case here, so linker (called via g++
front-end) complains about missing symbols.

RSS is the Resident Set Size and is used to show how much memory is allocated to that process and is in RAM. It does not include memory that is swapped out. It does include memory from shared libraries as long as the pages from those libraries are actually in memory. It does include all stack and heap memory.
VSZ is the Virtual Memory Size. It includes all memory that the process can access, including memory that is swapped out, memory that is allocated, but not used, and memory that is from shared libraries.
So if process A has a 500K binary and is linked to 2500K of shared libraries, has 200K of stack/heap allocations of which 100K is actually in memory (rest is swapped or unused), and it has only actually loaded 1000K of the shared libraries and 400K of its own binary then:
RSS: 400K + 1000K + 100K = 1500K
VSZ: 500K + 2500K + 200K = 3200K
Since part of the memory is shared, many processes may use it, so if you add up all of the RSS values you can easily end up with more space than your system has.
The memory that is allocated also may not be in RSS until it is actually used by the program. So if your program allocated a bunch of memory up front, then uses it over time, you could see RSS going up and VSZ staying the same.
There is also PSS (proportional set size). This is a newer measure which tracks the shared memory as a proportion used by the current process. So if there were two processes using the same shared library from before:
PSS: 400K + (1000K/2) + 100K = 400K + 500K + 100K = 1000K
Threads all share the same address space, so the RSS, VSZ and PSS for each thread is identical to all of the other threads in the process. Use ps or top to view this information in linux/unix.

Here's A generic VBA Array To Range function that writes an array to the sheet in a single 'hit' to the sheet. This is much faster than writing the data into the sheet one cell at a time in loops for the rows and columns... However, there's some housekeeping to do, as you must specify the size of the target range correctly.
This 'housekeeping' looks like a lot of work and it's probably rather slow: but this is 'last mile' code to write to the sheet, and everything is faster than writing to the worksheet. Or at least, so much faster that it's effectively instantaneous, compared with a read or write to the worksheet, even in VBA, and you should do everything you possibly can in code before you hit the sheet.
A major component of this is error-trapping that I used to see turning up everywhere . I hate repetitive coding: I've coded it all here, and - hopefully - you'll never have to write it again.

Also: I would advise you to keep that declaration private. If you must make it a public Sub in another module, insert the Option Private Module
statement in the module header. You really don't want your users calling any function with CopyMemoryoperations and pointer arithmetic.
Your condition id !== 0
will always be different that zero because you are assigning a string value. On pages where the element with id views_slideshow_controls_text_next_slideshow-block
is not found, you will still try to append the img element, which causes the Cannot read property 'appendChild' of null
error.
Instead of assigning a string value, you can assign the DOM element and verify if it exists within the page.

is actually the name of a builtin-type. Generally, I would advise giving your object a different "name".
Another way, if you're working with lists of lists*:

What I did here is that I take each desired row 1 at a time (arr[i]
). I then slice the columns I want out of that row and add it to the list that I'm building.

You get the first 2 rows which if you then slice again arr[0:2][0:2]
, you're just slicing the first two rows over again.
*This actually works for numpy arrays too, but it will be slow compared to the "native" solution I posted above.
A simple and up to date solution is to use the React React useRef hook that stores a reference to the component/element, combined with a useEffect hook, which fires at component renders.

The question asks how to check if a variable is an empty string and the best answers are already given for that.
But I landed here after a period passed programming in PHP, and I was actually searching for a check like the empty function in PHP working in a Bash shell.
After reading the answers I realized I was not thinking properly in Bash, but anyhow in that moment a function like empty in PHP would have been soooo handy in my Bash code.
As I think this can happen to others, I decided to convert the PHP empty function in Bash.
According to the PHP manual:

Having said that in a Bash logic the checks on zero in this function can cause side problems imho, anyone using this function should evaluate this risk and maybe decide to cut those checks off leaving only the first one.

I had this problem. It turned out there was a space in one of my folder names that caused the problem. I removed the space, deleted and reinstantiated using venv, and all was well.
You want the (standard) POSIXt
type from base R that can be had in 'compact form' as a POSIXct
(which is essentially a double representing fractional seconds since the epoch) or as long form in POSIXlt
(which contains sub-elements). The cool thing is that arithmetic etc are defined on this -- see help(DateTimeClasses)

Since several people in the comments have mentioned it, here's an explanation of how the TypeToken
class is being used. The construction new TypeToken<...>() {}.getType()
captures a compile-time type (between the <
and >
) into a runtime java.lang.reflect.Type
object. Unlike a Class
object, which can only represent a raw (erased) type, the Type
object can represent any type in the Java language, including a parameterized instantiation of a generic type.
The TypeToken
class itself does not have a public constructor, because you're not supposed to construct it directly. Instead, you always construct an anonymous subclass (hence the {}
, which is a necessary part of this expression).
Due to type erasure, the TypeToken
class is only able to capture types that are fully known at compile time. (That is, you can't do new TypeToken<List<T>>() {}.getType()
for a type parameter T
.)

The logic is wrong. Consider this:

Managed code is what Visual Basic .NET and C# compilers create. It runs on the CLR (Common Language Runtime), which, among other things, offers services like garbage collection, run-time type checking, and reference checking. So, think of it as, "My code is managed by the CLR."
Visual Basic and C# can only produce managed code, so, if you're writing an application in one of those languages you are writing an application managed by the CLR. If you are writing an application in Visual C++ .NET you can produce managed code if you like, but it's optional.
Unmanaged code compiles straight to machine code. So, by that definition all code compiled by traditional C/C++ compilers is 'unmanaged code'. Also, since it compiles to machine code and not an intermediate language it is non-portable.
No free memory management or anything else the CLR provides.
Since you cannot create unmanaged code with Visual Basic or C#, in Visual Studio all unmanaged code is written in C/C++.
Since Visual C++ can be compiled to either managed or unmanaged code it is possible to mix the two in the same application. This blurs the line between the two and complicates the definition, but it's worth mentioning just so you know that you can still have memory leaks if, for example, you're using a third party library with some badly written unmanaged code.

This may be an old thread but I came across it and figured that I would give a final answer.
The twitch api is json based and to recieve your stream key you need to authorize your app for use with the api. You do so under the connections tab within your profile on twitch.tv itself.. Down the bottom of said tab there is "register your app" or something similar. Register it and you'll get a client-id header for your get requests.
Now you need to attach your Oauthv2 key to your headers or as a param during the query to the following get request.

As you can see in the documentation above, if you've done these two things, your stream key will be made available to you.

My solution is to get use of the new docker cp
, which is now able to copy data out from containers, not matter if it's running or not and share a host volume to the exact same location where the database application is creating its database files inside the container. This double solution works without a data-only container, straight from the original database container.
So my systemd init script is taking the job of backuping the database into an archive on the host. I placed a timestamp in the filename to never rewrite a file.
It's doing it on the ExecStartPre:

At 20 min 20 secs from this official Docker keynote video, the presenter does the same thing with the database:
"For the database we have a volume, so we can make sure that, as the database goes up and down, we don't loose data, when the database container stopped."
The mysql command line is prone to too many problems on import. Here is how you do it:

You should use the newer version of sql.js. It is a port of sqlite 3.8, has a good documentation and is actively maintained (by me). It supports prepared statements, and BLOB data type.

I think reduce vs map + filter might be somewhat dependent on what you need to loop through. Not sure on this but reduce does seem to be slower.
One thing is for sure - if you're looking for performance improvements the way you write the code is extremely important!
Here a JS perf test that shows the massive improvements when typing out the code fully rather than checking for "falsey" values (e.g. if (string) {...}
) or returning "falsey" values where a boolean is expected.

None of those are precisely the same, though they will all have the same net effect.
The difference between the first and the second is that if you happen to be on the main application thread when executing the code, the first one (runOnUiThread()
) will execute the Runnable
immediately. The second one (post()
) always puts the Runnable
at the end of the event queue, even if you are already on the main application thread.
The third one, assuming you create and execute an instance of BackgroundTask
, will waste a lot of time grabbing a thread out of the thread pool, to execute a default no-op doInBackground()
, before eventually doing what amounts to a post()
. This is by far the least efficient of the three. Use AsyncTask
if you actually have work to do in a background thread, not just for the use of onPostExecute()

My scenario I hope not missed in this lengthy seed of answers was something really odd.
I have div elements that dynamically update through a dialogBox being called in them to load and get actioned in.
In short the div ids had

I had a user: ???? and for some reason the encoding did some strange stuff in the java script world. I got this error message for a form working in other places.
Narrowed it down to this and a retest of using numeric numbers instead i.e id appears to fix the issue.
Use Apache Friends XAMPP. It will set up Apache HTTP server, PHP 5 and MySQL 5 (as far as I know, there's probably some more than that). You don't need to know how to configure apache (or any of the modules) to use it.
You will have an htdocs directory which Apache will serve (accessible by http://localhost/) and should be able to put your PHP files there. With my installation, it is at C:\xampp\htdocs.
Add this WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE permission to your applications manifest.
