I can't remember how mvc 1 was setup, but it seems that it wanted the select list named the same as the field it belonged too...

What I found, as someone kind of said above, is that my select lists weren't working in mvc2 when the ViewData they were sent as was named the same as the field.

For those who want a summary,

android:minSdkVersion

is minimum version till your application supports. If your device has lower version of android , app will not install.

while,

android:targetSdkVersion

is the API level till which your app is designed to run. Means, your phone's system don't need to use any compatibility behaviours to maintain forward compatibility because you have tested against till this API.

Your app will still run on Android versions higher than given targetSdkVersion but android compatibility behaviour will kick in.

android:maxSdkVersion

if your device's API version is higher, app will not install. Ie. this is the max API till which you allow your app to install.

ie. for MinSDK -4, maxSDK - 8, targetSDK - 8 My app will work on minimum 1.6 but I also have used features that are supported only in 2.2 which will be visible if it is installed on a 2.2 device. Also, for maxSDK - 8, this app will not install on phones using API > 8.

The only editor I know of that has syntax highlighting and a fallback to a textarea is Mozilla Bespin. Google around for embedding Bespin to see how to embed the editor. The only site I know of that uses this right now is the very alpha Mozilla Jetpack Gallery (in the submit a Jetpack page) and you may want to see how they include it.

There are two commands available for user prompts on Windows command line:

• set with option /P available on all Windows NT versions with enabled command extensions and
• choice.exe available by default on Windows Vista and later Windows versions for PC users and on Windows Server 2003 and later server versions of Windows.

set is an internal command of Windows command processor cmd.exe. The option /P to prompt a user for a string is available only with enabled command extensions which are enabled by default as otherwise nearly no batch file would work anymore nowadays.

choice.exe is a separate console application (external command) located in %SystemRoot%\System32. File choice.exe of Windows Server 2003 can be copied into directory %SystemRoot%\System32 on a Windows XP machine for usage on Windows XP like many other commands not available by default on Windows XP, but available by default on Windows Server 2003.

It is best practice to favor usage of CHOICE over usage of SET /P because of the following reasons:

1. CHOICE accepts only keys (respectively characters read from STDIN) specified after option /C (and Ctrl+C and Ctrl+Break) and outputs an error beep if the user presses a wrong key.
2. CHOICE does not require pressing any other key than one of the acceptable ones. CHOICE exits immediately once an acceptable key is pressed while SET /P requires that the user finishes input with RETURN or ENTER.
3. It is possible with CHOICE to define a default option and a timeout to automatically continue with default option after some seconds without waiting for the user.
4. The output is better on answering the prompt automatically from another batch file which calls the batch file with the prompt using something like echo Y | call PromptExample.bat on using CHOICE.
5. The evaluation of the user's choice is much easier with CHOICE because of CHOICE exits with a value according to pressed key (character) which is assigned to ERRORLEVEL which can be easily evaluated next.
6. The environment variable used on SET /P is not defined if the user hits just key RETURN or ENTER and it was not defined before prompting the user. The used environment variable on SET /P command line keeps its current value if defined before and user presses just RETURN or ENTER.
7. The user has the freedom to enter anything on being prompted with SET /P including a string which results later in an exit of batch file execution by cmd because of a syntax error, or in execution of commands not included at all in the batch file on not good coded batch file. It needs some efforts to get SET /P secure against by mistake or intentionally wrong user input.

Here is a prompt example using preferred CHOICE and alternatively SET /P on choice.exe not available on used computer running Windows.

Note: This batch file uses command extensions which are not available on Windows 95/98/ME using command.com instead of cmd.exe as command interpreter.

The command line set "UserChoice=!UserChoice: =!" is added to make it possible to call this batch file with echo Y | call PromptExample.bat on Windows NT4/2000/XP and do not require the usage of echo Y| call PromptExample.bat. It deletes all spaces from string read from STDIN before running the two string comparisons.

echo Y | call PromptExample.bat results in YSPACE getting assigned to environment variable UserChoice. That would result on processing the prompt twice because of "Y " is neither case-insensitive equal "N" nor "Y" without deleting first all spaces. So UserChoice with YSPACE as value would result in running the prompt a second time with option N as defined as default in the batch file on second prompt execution which next results in an unexpected exit of batch file processing. Yes, secure usage of SET /P is really tricky, isn't it?

choice.exe exits with 0 in case of the user presses Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Break and answers next the question output by cmd.exe to exit batch file processing with N for no. For that reason the condition if not errorlevel 1 goto UserChoice is added to prompt the user once again for a definite answer on the prompt by batch file code with Y or N. Thanks to dialer for the information about this possible special use case.

The first line below the batch label :UseSetPrompt could be written also as:

set "UserChoice=N"

In this case the user choice input is predefined with N which means the user can hit just RETURN or ENTER (or Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Break and next N) to use the default choice.

The prompt text is output by command SET as written in the batch file. So the prompt text should end usually with a space character. The command CHOICE removes from prompt text all trailing normal spaces and horizontal tabs and then adds itself a space to the prompt text. Therefore the prompt text of command CHOICE can be written without or with a space at end. That does not make a difference on displayed prompt text on execution.

The order of user prompt evaluation could be also changed completely as suggested by dialer.

This code results in continuation of batch file processing below the batch label :Continue if the user pressed definitely key Y. In all other cases the code for N is executed resulting in an exit of batch file processing with this code independent on user pressed really that key, or entered something different intentionally or by mistake, or pressed Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Break and decided next on prompt output by cmd to not cancel the processing of the batch file.

Some more hints:

1. IF compares the two strings left and right of the comparison operator with including the double quotes. So case-insensitive compared is not the value of UserChoice with N and Y, but the value of UserChoice surrounded by " with "N" and "Y".
2. The IF comparison operators EQU and NEQ are designed primary for comparing two integers in range -2147483648 to 2147483647 and not for comparing two strings. EQU and NEQ work also for strings comparisons, but result on comparing strings in double quotes after a useless attempt to convert left string to an integer. EQU and NEQ can be used only with enabled command extensions. The comparison operators for string comparisons are == and not ... == which work even with disabled command extensions as even command.com of MS-DOS and Windows 95/98/ME already supported them. 3. The command goto :EOF requires enabled command extensions to really exit batch file processing. For more details see Where does GOTO :EOF return to?

Matrix Tookits Java (MTJ) was already mentioned before, but perhaps it's worth mentioning again for anyone else stumbling onto this thread. For those interested, it seems like there's also talk about having MTJ replace the linalg library in the apache commons math 2.0, though I'm not sure how that's progressing lately.

You shouldn't write your own browser-detection code - it's been done many times before. Use Modernizr to detect independent browser features instead. It's better to detect the various features than to detect entire browsers because various browsers may support different set of features and those features may even change through various versions of the same browser. If you detect the presence of a given feature, your code will likely work better in more browsers. This is especially true for the various mobile browsers.

When you run Modernizr, it'll update your HEAD element's class attribute so that it lists the various features of the browser that you're using - you can then use Javascript to query the attribute and decide what to do if a feature is present (or missing).

I rebased a branch from remote to try to clear a few commits I didn't want and was going to cherrypick the right ones that I wanted. Of course I wrote the SHAs wrong...

Note that this requires bash =4.0 (or zsh without shopt -s globstar, or ksh with set -o globstar instead of shopt -s globstar). Furthermore, in bash <4.3, this traverses symbolic links to directories as well as directories, which is usually not desirable.

I just thought I'd share that I found the answer to my own question.

Writing out my problem made it even more clear to me, and I further investigated into where I thought my problem lay: the ssh key

Turns out I was right. The issue wasn't with the key itself, but rather that I had not added it to my local Mac's list of known ssh keys. So even though my Heroku account had the correct key uploaded, my Mac could not authenticate with it because it could not find that key on my computer. The solution?

ssh-add ~/.ssh/id_rsa
#and, to confirm it's been added to the known list of keys
ssh-add -l

Just for fun, let's add something a bit more interesting.

Let's say you have a table of books and a table of authors. Your books have an author_id. But when the database was originally created, no foreign key constraints were set up and later a bug in the front-end code caused some books to be added with invalid author_ids. As a DBA you don't want to have to go through all of these books to check what the author_id should be, so the decision is made that the data capturers will fix the books to point to the right authors. But there are too many books to go through each one and let's say you know that the ones that have an author_id that corresponds with an actual author are correct. It's just the ones that have nonexistent author_ids that are invalid. There is already an interface for the users to update the book details and the developers don't want to change that just for this problem. But the existing interface does an INNER JOIN authors, so all of the books with invalid authors are excluded.

What you can do is this: Insert a fake author record like "Unknown author". Then update the author_id of all the bad records to point to the Unknown author. Then the data capturers can search for all books with the author set to "Unknown author", look up the correct author and fix them.

How do you update all of the bad records to point to the Unknown author? Like this (assuming the Unknown author's author_id is 99999):

The above will also update books that have a NULL author_id to the Unknown author. If you don't want that, of course you can add AND books.author_id IS NOT NULL.

Use zip(*list):

The zip() function pairs up the elements from all inputs, starting with the first values, then the second, etc. By using *l you apply all tuples in l as separate arguments to the zip() function, so zip() pairs up 1 with 3 with 8 first, then 2 with 4 and 9. Those happen to correspond nicely with the columns, or the transposition of l.

zip() produces tuples; if you must have mutable list objects, just map() the tuples to lists or use a list comprehension to produce a list of lists:

To append a char to a string in C, you first have to ensure that the memory buffer containing the string is large enough to accomodate an extra character. In your example program, you'd have to allocate a new, additional, memory block because the given literal string cannot be modified.

I had a similar issue while writing a newsletter. So I had to inline the style this way:

Connection reset simply means that a TCP RST was received. This happens when your peer receives data that it can't process, and there can be various reasons for that.

The simplest is when you close the socket, and then write more data on the output stream. By closing the socket, you told your peer that you are done talking, and it can forget about your connection. When you send more data on that stream anyway, the peer rejects it with an RST to let you know it isn't listening.

In other cases, an intervening firewall or even the remote host itself might "forget" about your TCP connection. This could happen if you don't send any data for a long time (2 hours is a common time-out), or because the peer was rebooted and lost its information about active connections. Sending data on one of these defunct connections will cause a RST too.

Update in response to additional information:

Take a close look at your handling of the SocketTimeoutException. This exception is raised if the configured timeout is exceeded while blocked on a socket operation. The state of the socket itself is not changed when this exception is thrown, but if your exception handler closes the socket, and then tries to write to it, you'll be in a connection reset condition. setSoTimeout() is meant to give you a clean way to break out of a read() operation that might otherwise block forever, without doing dirty things like closing the socket from another thread.

Select Into functionality only works for PL/SQL Block, when you use Execute immediate , oracle interprets v_query_str as a SQL Query string so you can not use into .will get keyword missing Exception. in example 2 ,we are using begin end; so it became pl/sql block and its legal.

Run this to push mytag to your git origin (eg: GitHub or GitLab)

It's better to use the full "refspec" as shown above (literally refs/tags/mytag) just in-case mytag is actually v1.0.0 and is ambiguous (eg: because there's a branch also named v1.0.0).

The answers abow didnt really work for me, i had a click event on the wrapper and ie 7,8,9,10 ignored the z-index, so my fix was giving the wrapper a background-color and it all of a sudden worked. Al though it was suppose to be transparent, so i defined the wrapper with the background-color white, and then opacity 0.01, and now it works. I also have the functions above, so it could be a combination.

I dont know why it works, im just happy it does.

This issue has haunted me for long time and I have seen one working solution in case of Firefox was to use the upgraded firefox driver.

• If your firefox upgrades are happening automatically than you may face this problem once in a while. Looks like Firefox guys are developing too fast, or they do not care about backward compatibility.

• Every time I see this issue on my old scripts I check if the firefox version has changed since - most of the times it is.

• Then I go to maven repo for selenium firefox driver repo - http://mvnrepository.com/artifact/org.seleniumhq.selenium/selenium-firefox-driver and download the latest version.

• or update my pom.xml (if maven is used) with new version of firefox driver right now its - 2.40.0

• There is no easy way to avoid this issue unless you really explicitly block the automatied update from firefox (You can do this (On Mac) in preferences - Advanced - Update - Select "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them")

• If your scripts are running on a automated mode then you may want to disable updates. However this may create other issues. Since most people/user may have firefox updates enabled by default. So your application is not really being tested on any later versions.

If you are working with Ubuntu, sometimes you need to run as sudo:

Your understanding is correct. However, if we walk through:

• (.*) will swallow the whole string;
• it will need to give back characters so that (\\d+) is satistifed (which is why 0 is captured, and not 3000);
• the last (.*) will then capture the rest.

Note: It seems this is not the preferred solution because of how the extra line was being added on a Windows system. As stated in the python document:

If csvfile is a file object, it must be opened with the ‘b’ flag on platforms where that makes a difference.

Windows is one such platform where that makes a difference. While changing the line terminator as I described below may have fixed the problem, the problem could be avoided altogether by opening the file in binary mode. One might say this solution is more "elegent". "Fiddling" with the line terminator would have likely resulted in unportable code between systems in this case, where opening a file in binary mode on a unix system results in no effect. ie. it results in cross system compatible code.

From Python Docs:

On Windows, 'b' appended to the mode opens the file in binary mode, so there are also modes like 'rb', 'wb', and 'r+b'. Python on Windows makes a distinction between text and binary files; the end-of-line characters in text files are automatically altered slightly when data is read or written. This behind-the-scenes modification to file data is fine for ASCII text files, but it’ll corrupt binary data like that in JPEG or EXE files. Be very careful to use binary mode when reading and writing such files. On Unix, it doesn’t hurt to append a 'b' to the mode, so you can use it platform-independently for all binary files.

As part of optional paramaters for the csv.writer if you are getting extra blank lines you may have to change the lineterminator (info here). Example below adapated from the python page csv docs. Change it from '\n' to whatever it should be. As this is just a stab in the dark at the problem this may or may not work, but it's my best guess.

Perhaps many of the previous solutions are no longer working. For example, this bellow code continues to create new code cells in Colab, working though. Undoubtedly, creating a bunch of code cells is an inconvenience. If too many code cells are created in some hours of running and there is no enough RAM, the browser may freeze.

I recently published a project that allows PHP to obtain and interact with a real Bash shell. Get it here: https://github.com/merlinthemagic/MTS The shell has a pty (pseudo terminal device, same as you would have in i.e. a ssh session), and you can get the shell as root if desired. Not sure you need root to execute your script, but given you mention sudo it is likely.

After downloading you would simply use the following code:

dir(sys) says no. len(sys.argv) works, but in Python it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission, so

Bash 4

Bash 4 natively supports this feature. Make sure your script's hashbang is #!/usr/bin/env bash or #!/bin/bash so you don't end up using sh. Make sure you're either executing your script directly, or execute script with bash script. (Not actually executing a Bash script with Bash does happen, and will be really confusing!)

You declare an associative array by doing:

declare -A animals

You can fill it up with elements using the normal array assignment operator. For example, if you want to have a map of animal[sound(key)] = animal(value):

animals=( ["moo"]="cow" ["woof"]="dog")

Or merge them:

declare -A animals=( ["moo"]="cow" ["woof"]="dog")

Then use them just like normal arrays. Use

• animals['key']='value' to set value

• "${animals[@]}" to expand the values

Bash 3

Before bash 4, you don't have associative arrays. Do not use eval to emulate them. Avoid eval like the plague, because it is the plague of shell scripting. The most important reason is that eval treats your data as executable code (there are many other reasons too).

First and foremost: Consider upgrading to bash 4. This will make the whole process much easier for you.

If there's a reason you can't upgrade, declare is a far safer option. It does not evaluate data as bash code like eval does, and as such does not allow arbitrary code injection quite so easily.

Let's prepare the answer by introducing the concepts:

First, indirection.

Secondly, declare:

Summary:

• Upgrade to bash 4 and use declare -A for associative arrays.
• Use the declare option if you can't upgrade.
• Consider using awk instead and avoid the issue altogether.

I'm using IIS Express, rather than IIS.

The problem was in the applicationhost.config file located in: {solution_folder}\.vs\config\applicationhost.config.

One of the application pool entries had a managedRuntimeVersion value of "v2.0". I changed it to "v4.0", and it worked properly.

I'm fairly sure the root cause was one of the NuGet packages I had installed recently.

Why use rsync when you can do:

If you are using Python 3.6 or higher like me there is a convenient alternative to check whether an object has a particular attribute:

If you are on windows and using mingw, gcc uses the win32 runtime, where printf needs %I64d for a 64 bit integer. (and %I64u for an unsinged 64 bit integer)

For most other platforms you'd use %lld for printing a long long. (and %llu if it's unsigned). This is standarized in C99.

gcc doesn't come with a full C runtime, it defers to the platform it's running on - so the general case is that you need to consult the documentation for your particular platform - independent of gcc.

You may find it more readable to reverse your logic and use an else statement with an empty if.

Another way to make the parser raise the same exception is the following incorrect clause.

Sharer.php no longer allows you to customize. The page you share will be scraped for OG Tags and that data will be shared.

Nobody mentioned it so far... with utf8mb4 which is 4-byte and can also store emoticons (we should never more use 3-byte utf8) and we can avoid errors like Incorrect string value: \xF0\x9F\x98\... we should not use typical VARCHAR(255) but rather VARCHAR(191) because in case utf8mb4 and VARCHAR(255) same part of data are stored off-page and you can not create index for column VARCHAR(255) but for VARCHAR(191) you can. It is because the maximum indexed column size is 767 bytes for ROW_FORMAT=COMPACT or ROW_FORMAT=REDUNDANT.

For newer row formats ROW_FORMAT=DYNAMIC or ROW_FORMAT=COMPRESSED (which requires newer file format innodb_file_format=Barracuda not older Antelope) maximum indexed column size is 3072. It is available since MySQL >= 5.6.3 when innodb_large_prefix=1 (disabled by default for MySQL <= 5.7.6 and enabled by default for MySQL >= 5.7.7). So in this case we can use VARCHAR(768) for utf8mb4 (or VARCHAR(1024) for old utf8) for indexed column. Option innodb_large_prefix is deprecated since 5.7.7 because its behavior is built-in MySQL 8 (in this version is option removed).

You need to start by understanding that the target of a symlink is a pathname. And it can be absolute or relative to the directory which contains the symlink

Assuming you have foo.conf in sites-available

Try

cd sites-enabled
sudo ln -s ../sites-available/foo.conf .
ls -l

Now you will have a symlink in sites-enabled called foo.conf which has a target ../sites-available/foo.conf

Just to be clear, the normal configuration for Apache is that the config files for potential sites live in sites-available and the symlinks for the enabled sites live in sites-enabled, pointing at targets in sites-available. That doesn't quite seem to be the case the way you describe your setup, but that is not your primary problem.

If you want a symlink to ALWAYS point at the same file, regardless of the where the symlink is located, then the target should be the full path.

Here is (line 1 of) the output of my ls -l /etc/apache2/sites-enabled:

See how the target of the symlink is relative to the directory that contains the symlink (it starts with ".." meaning go up one directory).

Hardlinks are totally different because the target of a hardlink is not a directory entry but a filing system Inode.

A constant reference to an object is not a constant, it's just a constant reference to an object.

private static final is not what defines something to be a constant or not. It's just the Java way to define a constant, but it doesn't mean that every private static final declaration was put there to define a constant.

When I write private static final Logger I'm not trying to define a constant, I'm just trying to define a reference to an object that is private (that it is not accessible from other classes), static (that it is a class level variable, no instance needed) and final (that can only be assigned once). If it happens to coincide with the way Java expects you to declare a constant, well, bad luck, but it doesn't make it a constant. I don't care what the compiler, sonar, or any Java guru says. A constant value, like MILLISECONDS_IN_A_SECOND = 1000 is one thing, and a constant reference to an object is another.

Gold is known to shine, but not everything that shines is gold.

The best way is to specify environment variables outside the docker-compose.yml file. You can use env_file setting, and define your environment file within the same line. Then doing a docker-compose up again should recreate the containers with the new environment variables.

Here is how my docker-compose.yml looks like:

There is no native IF/ELSE for CSS available. CSS preprocessors like SASS (and Compass) can help, but if you’re looking for more feature-specific if/else conditions you should give Modernizr a try. It does feature-detection and then adds classes to the HTML element to indicate which CSS3 & HTML5 features the browser supports and doesn’t support. You can then write very if/else-like CSS right in your CSS without any preprocessing, like this:

The new ASP.NET Web API is a continuation of the previous WCF Web API project (although some of the concepts have changed).

WCF was originally created to enable SOAP-based services. For simpler RESTful or RPCish services (think clients like jQuery) ASP.NET Web API should be good choice.

For us, WCF is used for SOAP and Web API for REST. I wish Web API supported SOAP too. We are not using advanced features of WCF. Here is comparison from MSDN:

ASP.net Web API is all about HTTP and REST based GET,POST,PUT,DELETE with well know ASP.net MVC style of programming and JSON returnable; web API is for all the light weight process and pure HTTP based components. For one to go ahead with WCF even for simple or simplest single web service it will bring all the extra baggage. For light weight simple service for ajax or dynamic calls always WebApi just solves the need. This neatly complements or helps in parallel to the ASP.net MVC.

In the scenarios listed below you should go for WCF:

1. If you need to send data on protocols like TCP, MSMQ or MIME
2. If the consuming client just knows how to consume SOAP messages

WEB API is a framework for developing RESTful/HTTP services.

There are so many clients that do not understand SOAP like Browsers, HTML5, in those cases WEB APIs are a good choice.

HTTP services header specifies how to secure service, how to cache the information, type of the message body and HTTP body can specify any type of content like HTML not just XML as SOAP services.

Without Package Manager

I highly recommend using the Package Manager as described in other answers as it's far more convenient for both installing and updating. However, sometimes plugins are not in the directory, so here is the manual approach.

First off, find your Packages directory in your Application Support/Sublime Text 2 directory, for example:

~/Library/Application Support/Sublime Text 2/Packages

Now, take your Plugin folder (which you can download as a zip from GitHub, for example) and simply copy the folder into your Packages directory:

The problem is that your PATH does not include the location of the node executable.

You can likely run node as "/usr/local/bin/node".

You can add that location to your path by running the following command to add a single line to your bashrc file:

The .NET garbage collector takes care of all this for you.

It is able to determine when objects are no longer referenced and will (eventually) free the memory that had been allocated to them.

I do not incentivise this, but say you're on command line, you have nothing but Python and you really need a one-liner, you can do this:

Some times there are certain applications that require additional support of extra plugins and utilities. So it keeps track of these utilities and plugin process running ids using this pid file for reference.

That is why whenever you restart an application all necessary plugins and dependant apps must be restarted since the pid file will become stale.

As stated above, something else is holding the files. Thing is that program doesnt look suspicious for us. I was trying to do a git pull from console, while having GitKraken opened. Closing GitKraken fixed the problem.

In my expression, count(enddate) counts how many rows where the enddate column is not null. The count(*) expression counts total rows. By comparing, you can easily tell if any value in the enddate column contains null. If they are identical, then max(enddate) is the result. Otherwise the case will default to returning null which is also the answer. This is a very popular way to do this exact check.

Here's one example, given to me by @jleahy: Suppose you have a collection of tasks, executed asynchronously, and managed by an std::shared_ptr<Task>. You may want to do something with those tasks periodically, so a timer event may traverse a std::vector<std::weak_ptr<Task>> and give the tasks something to do. However, simultaneously a task may have concurrently decided that it is no longer needed and die. The timer can thus check whether the task is still alive by making a shared pointer from the weak pointer and using that shared pointer, provided it isn't null.

So any change in somename string will be reflected in [Person name] string.

There's no need to manually put class files on Tomcat. Just make sure your package declaration for Member is correctly defined as

package pageNumber;

since, that's the only application package you're importing in your JSP.

This is usually happens when the remote is down/unavailable; or the remote machine doesn't have ssh installed; or a firewall doesn't allow a connection to be established to the remote host.

ssh returns 255 when an error occurred or 255 is returned by the remote script:

 EXIT STATUS

     ssh exits with the exit status of the remote command or
     with 255 if an error occurred.

Usually you would an error message something similar to:

ssh: connect to host host.domain.com port 22: No route to host

Or

ssh: connect to host HOSTNAME port 22: Connection refused

• Are you able to ping that machine?

Looking at the text of the question, it's also possible that this is what is requested:

Several answers here uses Integer.toHexString(int); this is doable, but with some caveats. Since the parameter is an int, a widening primitive conversion is performed to the byte argument, which involves sign extension.

The 8-bit byte, which is signed in Java, is sign-extended to a 32-bit int. To effectively undo this sign extension, one can mask the byte with 0xFF.

Another issue with using toHexString is that it doesn't pad with zeroes:

What the 2>&1 part actually does, is that it redirects the stderr output to stdout. I will explain it better below:

The shortest version of your script could be:

The & character is used for redirection the first time, and for separating the commands the second time.
An @ character is not needed twice in a line. This code is just 40 bytes, despite the one you've posted being 49 bytes! I actually saved 9 bytes. For a cleaner code look above.

The abstract methods are implicitly virtual. Abstract methods require an instance, but static methods do not have an instance. So, you can have a static method in an abstract class, it just cannot be static abstract (or abstract static).

This post pertains to R proxy issues on *nix. You should know that R has many libraries/methods to fetch data over internet.

For 'curl', 'libcurl', 'wget' etc, just do the following:

1. Open a terminal. Type the following command:

   sudo gedit /etc/R/Renviron.site
   

2. Enter the following lines:

   http_proxy='http://username:[email protected]:port/'
   https_proxy='https://username:[email protected]:port/'
   

   Replace username, password, abc.com, xyz.com and port with these settings specific to your network.

3. Quit R and launch again.

This should solve your problem with 'libcurl' and 'curl' method. However, I have not tried it with 'httr'. One way to do that with 'httr' only for that session is as follows:

Suppose you write some javascript entirely with 'function's and 'var's. Then you can use the pattern of writing all the functions code within the framework of a try/catch/finally lattice. Within finally perform the destruction code.

Instead of the C++ style of writing object classes with unspecified lifetimes, and then specifying the lifetime by arbitrary scopes and the implicit call to ~() at scope end (~() is destructor in C++), in this javascript pattern the object is the function, the scope is exactly the function scope, and the destructor is the finally block.

If you are now thinking this pattern is inherently flawed because try/catch/finally doesn't encompass asynchronous execution which is essential to javascript, then you are correct. Fortunately, since 2018 the asynchronous programming helper object Promise has had a prototype function finally added to the already existing resolve and catch prototype functions. That means that that asynchronous scopes requiring destructors can be written with a Promise object, using finally as the destructor. Furthermore you can use try/catch/finally in an async function calling Promises with or without await, but must be aware that Promises called without await will be execute asynchronously outside the scope and so handle the desctructor code in a final then.

In the following code PromiseA and PromiseB are some legacy API level promises which don't have finally function arguments specified. PromiseC DOES have a finally argument defined.

I am not advocating that every object in javascript be written as a function. Instead, consider the case where you have a scope identified which really 'wants' a destructor to be called at its end of life. Formulate that scope as a function object, using the pattern's finally block (or finally function in the case of an asynchronous scope) as the destructor. It is quite like likely that formulating that functional object obviated the need for a non-function class which would otherwise have been written - no extra code was required, aligning scope and class might even be cleaner.

Note: As others have written, we should not confuse destructors and garbage collection. As it happens C++ destructors are often or mainly concerned with manual garbage collection, but not exclusively so. Javascript has no need for manual garbage collection, but asynchronous scope end-of-life is often a place for (de)registering event listeners, etc..

What you could also do is put a .htaccess file containing

You can't do this with jQuery, visible="false" in asp.net means the control isn't rendered into the page. If you want the control to go to the client, you need to do style="display: none;" so it's actually in the HTML, otherwise there's literally nothing for the client to show, since the element wasn't in the HTML your server sent.

If you remove the visible attribute and add the style attribute you can then use jQuery to show it, like this:

To change visibility, you need to use .css(), like this:

Unless you need to have the element occupy page space though, use display: none; instead of visibility: hidden; in your CSS, then just do:

Look at the Identity of the Application Pool that's running your application. By default it will be the Network Service account, but you can change this.

At least that's how it works on 2003 server, don't know if some details have changed for 2008 server.

Those look much like Bonjour / mDNS requests to me. Those packets use multicast IP address 224.0.0.251 and port 5353.

The most likely source for this is Apple iTunes, which comes pre-installed on Mac computers (and is a popular install on Windows machines as well). Apple iTunes uses it to discover other iTunes-compatible devices in the same WiFi network.

mDNS is also used (primarily by Apple's Mac and iOS devices) to discover mDNS-compatible devices such as printers on the same network.

If this is a Linux box instead, it's probably the Avahi daemon then. Avahi is ZeroConf/Bonjour compatible and installed by default, but if you don't use DNS-SD or mDNS, it can be disabled.

I would argue that the only safe mechanism here is to use the String name() value. When writing to the DB, you could use a sproc to insert the value and when reading, use a View. In this manner, if the enums change, there is a level of indirection in the sproc/view to be able to present the data as the enum value without "imposing" this on the DB.

From the two linksResolved Successfully and Naming Convention, I easily solved this same problem which I faced. i.e., for the foreign key name, give as fk_colName_TableName. This naming convention is non-ambiguous and also makes every ForeignKey in your DB Model unique and you will never get this error.

If all you want is to filter records in a subreport based on a parameter from the main report, it might be easier to simply add the table to the subreport, and then create a Project_Name link between the main report and subreport. You can then use the Select Expert to filter the ReleaseDate as well.

MongoDB needs data directory to store data. Default path is /data/db

When you start MongoDB engine, it searches this directory which is missing in your case. Solution is create this directory and assign rwx permission to user.

If you want to change the path of your data directory then you should specify it while starting mongod server like,

mongod --dbpath /data/<path> --port <port no> 

This should help you start your mongod server with custom path and port.

Just spent a hour or so doing this and with the help of Brad's advice and a few additional changes it all worked.

I propose to use

SET time_zone = 'proper timezone';

being done once right after connect to database. and after this all timestamps will be converted automatically when selecting them.

Also you can use getChildAt() method. Like this:

You can either remove E_STRICT from error_reporting(), or you can simply make your method static, if you need to call it statically. As far as I know, there is no (strict) way to have a method that can be invoked both as static and non-static method. Also, which is more annoying, you cannot have two methods with the same name, one being static and the other non-static.

This XPath is specific to the code snippet you've provided. To select <child> with id as #grand you can write //child[@id='#grand'].

To get age //child[@id='#grand']/@age

I believe this applies to all statically typed languages:

String s = "some string";
Object o = s; // ok
String x = o; // gives compile-time error, o is not neccessarily a string
String x = (String)o; // ok compile-time, but might give a runtime exception if o is not infact a String

The typecast effectively says: assume this is a reference to the cast class and use it as such. Now, lets say o is really an Integer, assuming this is a String makes no sense and will give unexpected results, thus there needs to be a runtime check and an exception to notify the runtime environment that something is wrong.

In practical use, you can write code working on a more general class, but cast it to a subclass if you know what subclass it is and need to treat it as such. A typical example is overriding Object.equals(). Assume we have a class for Car:
