Converting a double to an int in C#

In the provided example your decimal is 8.6. Had it been 8.5 or 9.5, the statement i1 == i2 might have been true. Infact it would have been true for 8.5, and false for 9.5.

Explanation:

Regardless of the decimal part, the second statement, int i2 = (int)score will discard the decimal part and simply return you the integer part. Quite dangerous thing to do, as data loss might occur.

Now, for the first statement, two things can happen. If the decimal part is 5, that is, it is half way through, a decision is to be made. Do we round up or down? In C#, the Convert class implements banker's rounding. See this answer for deeper explanation. Simply put, if the number is even, round down, if the number is odd, round up.

E.g. Consider:

To check for a timeout, I believe you check the value of ex.Number. If it is -2, then you have a timeout situation.

-2 is the error code for timeout, returned from DBNETLIB, the MDAC driver for SQL Server. This can be seen by downloading Reflector, and looking under System.Data.SqlClient.TdsEnums for TIMEOUT_EXPIRED.

Whilst you certainly can use MySQL's IF() control flow function as demonstrated by dbemerlin's answer, I suspect it might be a little clearer to the reader (i.e. yourself, and any future developers who might pick up your code in the future) to use a CASE expression instead:

Angular4 - No value accessor for form control

The error means, that Angular doesn't know what to do when you put a formControl on a div. To fix this, you have two options.

You put the formControlName on an element, that is supported by Angular out of the box. Those are: input, textarea and select.
You implement the ControlValueAccessor interface. By doing so, you're telling Angular "how to access the value of your control" (hence the name). Or in simple terms: What to do, when you put a formControlName on an element, that doesn't naturally have a value associated with it.

Now, implementing the ControlValueAccessor interface can be a bit daunting at first. Especially because there isn't much good documentation of this out there and you need to add a lot of boilerplate to your code. So let me try to break this down in some simple-to-follow steps.

Move your form control into its own component

In order to implement the ControlValueAccessor, you need to create a new component (or directive). Move the code related to your form control there. Like this it will also be easily reusable. Having a control already inside a component might be the reason in the first place, why you need to implement the ControlValueAccessor interface, because otherwise you will not be able to use your custom component together with Angular forms.

Add the boilerplate to your code

Implementing the ControlValueAccessor interface is quite verbose, here's the boilerplate that comes with it:

So what are the individual parts doing?

a) Lets Angular know during runtime that you implemented the ControlValueAccessor interface
b) Makes sure you're implementing the ControlValueAccessor interface
c) This is probably the most confusing part. Basically what you're doing is, you give Angular the means to override your class properties/methods onChange and onTouch with it's own implementation during runtime, such that you can then call those functions. So this point is important to understand: You don't need to implement onChange and onTouch yourself (other than the initial empty implementation). The only thing your doing with (c) is to let Angular attach it's own functions to your class. Why? So you can then call the onChange and onTouch methods provided by Angular at the appropriate time. We'll see how this works down below.
d) We'll also see how the writeValue method works in the next section, when we implement it. I've put it here, so all required properties on ControlValueAccessor are implemented and your code still compiles.

Implement writeValue

What writeValue does, is to do something inside your custom component, when the form control is changed on the outside. So for example, if you have named your custom form control component app-custom-input and you'd be using it in the parent component like this:

then writeValue gets triggered whenever the parent component somehow changes the value of myFormControl. This could be for example during the initialization of the form (this.form = this.formBuilder.group({myFormControl: ""});) or on a form reset this.form.reset();.

What you'll typically want to do if the value of the form control changes on the outside, is to write it to a local variable which represents the form control value. For example, if your CustomInputComponent revolves around a text based form control, it could look like this:

Now you have handled what happens inside of your component when something changes outside. Now let's look at the other direction. How do you inform the outside world when something changes inside of your component?

Calling onChange

The next step is to inform the parent component about changes inside of your CustomInputComponent. This is where the onChange and onTouch functions from (c) from above come into play. By calling those functions you can inform the outside about changes inside your component. In order to propagate changes of the value to the outside, you need to call onChange with the new value as the argument. For example, if the user types something in the input field in your custom component, you call onChange with the updated value:

If you check the implementation (c) from above again, you'll see what's happening: Angular bound it's own implementation to the onChange class property. That implementation expects one argument, which is the updated control value. What you're doing now is you're calling that method and thus letting Angular know about the change. Angular will now go ahead and change the form value on the outside. This is the key part in all this. You told Angular when it should update the form control and with what value by calling onChange. You've given it the means to "access the control value".

By the way: The name onChange is chosen by me. You could choose anything here, for example propagateChange or similar. However you name it though, it will be the same function that takes one argument, that is provided by Angular and that is bound to your class by the registerOnChange method during runtime.

Calling onTouch

Since form controls can be "touched", you should also give Angular the means to understand when your custom form control is touched. You can do it, you guessed it, by calling the onTouch function. So for our example here, if you want to stay compliant with how Angular is doing it for the out-of-the-box form controls, you should call onTouch when the input field is blurred:

Again, onTouch is a name chosen by me, but what it's actual function is provided by Angular and it takes zero arguments. Which makes sense, since you're just letting Angular know, that the form control has been touched.

If you want to prompt or warn your user that they're going to close your page, you need to add code that sets .returnValue on a beforeunload event:

There's two things to remember.

Most modern browsers (Chrome 51+, Safari 9.1+ etc) will ignore what you say and just present a generic message. This prevents webpage authors from writing egregious messages, e.g., "Closing this tab will make your computer EXPLODE! ".
Showing a prompt isn't guaranteed. Just like playing audio on the web, browsers can ignore your request if a user hasn't interacted with your page. As a user, imagine opening and closing a tab that you never switch to—the background tab should not be able to prompt you that it's closing.

Optionally Show

You can add a simple condition to control whether to prompt your user by checking something within the event handler. This is fairly basic good practice, and could work well if you're just trying to warn a user that they've not finished filling out a single static form. For example:

The traditional way folks are taught promises is to think of them as a single operation, perhaps requiring several steps- fetch from the server, update the DOM, save to a database. However, by sharing the Promise, other code can leverage it to watch when it's finished.

Pending Work

Here's an example of keeping track of pending work. By calling addToPendingWork with a Promise—for example, one returned from fetch()—we'll control whether to warn the user that they're going to unload your page.

There are multiple ways to do this but I think that this way is really simple.

Check if ADODB connection is open

This is an old topic, but in case anyone else is still looking...

I was having trouble after an undock event. An open db connection saved in a global object would error, even after reconnecting to the network. This was due to the TCP connection being forcibly terminated by remote host. (Error -2147467259: TCP Provider: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)

However, the error would only show up after the first transaction was attempted. Up to that point, neither Connection.State nor Connection.Version (per solutions above) would reveal any error.

So I wrote the small sub below to force the error - hope it's useful.

Performance testing on my setup (Access 2016, SQL Svr 2008R2) was approx 0.5ms per call.

Longer object length is not a multiple of shorter object length?

Yes, this is something that you should worry about. Check the length of your objects with nrow(). R can auto-replicate objects so that they're the same length if they differ, which means you might be performing operations on mismatched data.

In this case you have an obvious flaw in that your subtracting aggregated data from raw data. These will definitely be of different lengths. I suggest that you merge them as time series (using the dates), then locf(), then do your subtraction. Otherwise merge them by truncating the original dates to the same interval as the aggregated series. Just be very careful that you don't drop observations.

Lastly, as some general advice as you get started: look at the result of your computations to see if they make sense. You might even pull them into a spreadsheet and replicate the results.

What you're doing

However, you've put an entire condition as when_value, leading to something like:

if (case_value == FALSE)

FALSE converts to 0 and, through the resulting full expression if (case_value == 0) you can now see why the third condition fires.

The copy command is a SQL*Plus command (not a SQL Developer command). If you have your tnsname entries setup for SID1 and SID2 (e.g. try a tnsping), you should be able to execute your command.

Another assumption is that table1 has the same columns as the message_table (and the columns have only the following data types: CHAR, DATE, LONG, NUMBER or VARCHAR2). Also, with an insert command, you would need to be concerned about primary keys (e.g. that you are not inserting duplicate records).

I tried a variation of your command as follows in SQL*Plus (with no errors):

copy from scott/tiger@db1 to scott/tiger@db2 create new_emp using select * from emp;

After I executed the above statement, I also truncate the new_emp table and executed this command:

copy from scott/tiger@db1 to scott/tiger@db2 insert new_emp using select * from emp;

With SQL Developer, you could do the following to perform a similar approach to copying objects:

On the tool bar, select Tools>Database copy.
Identify source and destination connections with the copy options you would like.

The copy command approach is old and its features are not being updated with the release of new data types. There are a number of more current approaches to this like Oracle's data pump (even for tables).

Another use case for dynamic typing is for virtual methods that experience a problem with covariance or contravariance. One such example is the infamous Clone method that returns an object of the same type as the object it is called on. This problem is not completely solved with a dynamic return because it bypasses static type checking, but at least you don't need to use ugly casts all the time as per when using plain object. Otherwise to say, the casts become implicit.

For me the issue was a case difference in the file.

I renamed the file and committed the delete, It showed both the upper and lower case versions of the file to be deleted.

After the delete was committed I renamed the file back to its original name and pushed.

In DefaultAppPool set NetworkService in the Identity property and in Sql Server add User Network Service and give it the appropiate permissions to your database, that's work very well for me, I've tested locally but I think this is the best configuration for connecting from any other computer in the network. when you set LocalSystem in the Identity in IIS that's work well and it is not necessary to create any other user in Sql Server but I think that will not work in a network environment.

If it gets into the selinux arena you've got a much more complicated issue. It's not a good idea to remove the selinux protection but to embrace it and use the tools that were designed to manage it.

If you are serving content out of /var/www/abc, you can verify the selinux permissions with a Z appended to the normal ls -l command. i.e. ls -laZ will give the selinux context.

To add a directory to be served by selinux you can use the semanage command like this. This will change the label on /var/www/abc to httpd_sys_content_t

You are really going to want to do 2 or 3, don't disable event validation.

There are two main problems with adding items to an asp:listbox client side.

The first is that it interferes with event validation. What came back to the server is not what it sent down.
The second is that even if you disable event validation, when your page gets posted back the items in the listbox will be rebuilt from the viewstate, so any changes you made on the client are lost. The reason for this is that a asp.net does not expect the contents of a listbox to be modified on the client, it only expects a selection to be made, so it discards any changes you might have made.

The best option is most likely to use an update panel as has been recommended. Another option, if you really need to do this client side, is to use a plain old <select> instead of an <asp:ListBox>, and to keep your list of items in a hidden field. When the page renders on the client you can populate it from a split of your text field contents.

Then, when you are ready to post it, you repopulate the hidden field's contents from your modified <select>. Then, of course, you have to split that again on the server and do something with your items, since your select is empty now that it's back on the server.

All in all it's a pretty cumbersome solution that I would not really recommend, but if you really have to do client-side modifications of a listBox, it does work. I would really recommend you look into an updatePanel before going this route, however.

In comparisons it makes a difference if a scalar is a number of a string. And it is not always decidable. I can report a case where perl retrieved a float in "scientific" notation and used that same a few lines below in a comparison:

First, the error you're getting is due to where you're using the COUNT function -- you can't use an aggregate (or group) function in the WHERE clause.

Second, instead of using a subquery, simply join the table to itself:

Remember that plt.show() is a blocking function, so in the example code you used above, plt.close() isn't being executed until the window is closed, which makes it redundant.

You can use plt.ion() at the beginning of your code to make it non-blocking, although this has other implications.

EXAMPLE

After our discussion in the comments, I've put together a bit of an example just to demonstrate how the plot functionality can be used.

Below I create a plot:

A note about the above: When I run the application, the code runs sequentially right through (it stores the update function in memory, I think), until it hits show(), which is blocking. When you make a change to one of the sliders, it runs the update function from memory (I think?).

This is the reason why show() is implemented in the way it is, so that you can change values in the background by using functions to process the data.

Another fairly simple way to go about this is to make a method like this:

I would suggest that you use a timer, but set it to check every 45 seconds, not minute. Otherwise you can run into situations where with heavy load, the check for a particular minute is missed, because between the time the timer triggers and the time your code runs and checks the current time, you might have missed the target minute.

The local variables have a lifetime which extends only inside the block in which it is defined. The moment the control goes outside the block in which the local variable is defined, the storage for the variable is no more allocated (not guaranteed). Therefore, using the memory address of the variable outside the lifetime area of the variable will be undefined behaviour.

On the other hand you can do the following.

And use the str_to_ret instead. And when returning str_to_ret, the address allocated by malloc will be returned. The memory allocated by malloc is allocated from the heap, which has a lifetime which spans the entire execution of the program. Therefore, you can access the memory location from any block and any time while the program is running.

Also note that it is a good practice that after you have done with the allocated memory block, free it to save from memory leaks. Once you free the memory, you can't access that block again.

Why extend the Android Application class?

Offhand, I can't think of a real scenario in which extending Application is either preferable to another approach or necessary to accomplish something. If you have an expensive, frequently used object you can initialize it in an IntentService when you detect that the object isn't currently present. Application itself runs on the UI thread, while IntentService runs on its own thread.

I prefer to pass data from Activity to Activity with explicit Intents, or use SharedPreferences. There are also ways to pass data from a Fragment to its parent Activity using interfaces.

You can use third party libs such as RenderScript/Blurry/etc.
If you do not want to use any third party libs, you can do the below using alpha(setting alpha to 0 means complete blur and 1 means same as existing).

Note(If you are using point 2) : While setting alpha to the background, it will blur the whole layout. To avoid this, create a new xml containing drawable and set alpha here to 0.5 (or value of your wish) and use this drawable name (name of file) as the background.

For example, use it as below (say file name is bgndblur.xml):

You need to install a plugin, There is a free one from the eclipse foundation called the Web Tools Platform. It has all the development functionality that you'll need.

You can get the Java EE Edition of eclipse with has it pre-installed.

To create and run your first servlet:

New... Project... Dynamic Web Project.
Right click the project... New Servlet.
Write some code in the doGet() method.
Find the servers view in the Java EE perspective, it's usually one of the tabs at the bottom.
Right click in there and select new Server.
Select Tomcat X.X and a wizard will point you to finding the installation.
Right click the server you just created and select Add and Remove... and add your created web project.
Right click your servlet and select Run > Run on Server...

That should do it for you. You can use ant to build here if that's what you'd like but eclipse will actually do the build and automatically deploy the changes to the server. With Tomcat you might have to restart it every now and again depending on the change.

Adding external resources (CSS/JavaScript/images etc) in JSP

The reason that you get the 404 File Not Found error, is that your path to CSS given as a value to the href attribute is missing context path.

An HTTP request URL contains the following parts:

http://[host]:[port][request-path]?[query-string]

The request path is further composed of the following elements:

Context path: A concatenation of a forward slash (/) with the context root of the servlet's web application. Example: http://host[:port]/context-root[/url-pattern]
Servlet path: The path section that corresponds to the component alias that activated this request. This path starts with a forward slash (/).
Path info: The part of the request path that is not part of the context path or the servlet path.

Solutions

There are several solutions to your problem, here are some of them:

1) Using `<c:url>` tag from JSTL

In my Java web applications I usually used <c:url> tag from JSTL when defining the path to CSS/JavaScript/image and other static resources. By doing so you can be sure that those resources are referenced always relative to the application context (context path).

If you say, that your CSS is located inside WebContent folder, then this should work:

The reason why it works is explained in the "JavaServer Pages™ Standard Tag Library" version 1.2 specification chapter 7.5 (emphasis mine):

As a consequence, an implementation must prepend the context path to a URL that starts with a slash (e.g. "/page2.jsp") so that such URLs can be properly interpreted by a client browser.

NOTE
Don't forget to use Taglib directive in your JSP to be able to reference JSTL tags. Also see an example JSP page here.

2) Using JSP Expression Language and implicit objects

An alternative solution is using Expression Language (EL) to add application context:

3) Using `<c:set>` tag from JSTL

To make accessing the context path more compact than in the solution ?2, you can first use the JSTL <c:set> tag, that sets the value of an EL variable or the property of an EL variable in any of the JSP scopes (page, request, session, or application) for later access.

IMPORTANT NOTE
By default, in order to set the variable in such manner, the JSP that contains this set tag must be accessed at least once (including in case of setting the value in the application scope using scope attribute, like <c:set var="foo" value="bar" scope="application" />), before using this new variable. For instance, you can have several JSP files where you need this variable. So you must ether a) both set the new variable holding context path in the application scope AND access this JSP first, before using this variable in other JSP files, or b) set this context path holding variable in EVERY JSP file, where you need to access to it.

4) Using ServletContextListener

The more effective way to make accessing the context path more compact is to set a variable that will hold the context path and store it in the application scope using a Listener. This solution is similar to solution ?3, but the benefit is that now the variable holding context path is set right at the start of the web application and is available application wide, no need for additional steps.

We need a class that implements ServletContextListener interface. Here is an example of such class:

For such a small thing it is probably OK, just note that generally the use of scriptlets in JSP is discouraged.

Conclusion

I personally prefer either the first solution (used it in my previous projects most of the time) or the second, as they are most clear, intuitive and unambiguous (IMHO). But you choose whatever suits you most.

Other thoughts

You can deploy your web app as the default application (i.e. in the default root context), so it can be accessed without specifying context path. For more info read the "Update" section here.

You could definitely append data into an existing table. (But it is actually not an append at the HDFS level). It's just that whenever you do a LOAD or INSERT operation on an existing Hive table without OVERWRITE clause the new data will be put without replacing the old data. A new file will be created for this newly inserted data inside the directory corresponding to that table. For example :

You can achieve the desired result by requesting a list of distinct ids instead of a list of distinct hydrated objects.

Simply add this to your criteria:

criteria.setProjection(Projections.distinct(Projections.property("id")));

Now you'll get the correct number of results according to your row-based limiting. The reason this works is because the projection will perform the distinctness check as part of the sql query, instead of what a ResultTransformer does which is to filter the results for distinctness after the sql query has been performed.

OK, now you are kind of stuck and have no clue what is going on.

What has actually happened is this:

Maven has successfully downloaded the JavaFX dependencies for your application, so you don't need to separately download the dependencies or install a JavaFX SDK or module distribution or anything like that.
Idea has successfully imported the modules as dependencies to your project, so everything compiles OK and all of the code completion and everything works fine.

So it seems everything should be OK. BUT, when you run your application, the code in the JavaFX modules is failing when trying to use reflection to instantiate instances of your application class (when you invoke launch) and your FXML controller classes (when you load FXML). Without some help, this use of reflection can fail in some cases, generating the obscure IllegalAccessError. This is due to a Java module system security feature which does not allow code from other modules to use reflection on your classes unless you explicitly allow it (and the JavaFX application launcher and FXMLLoader both require reflection in their current implementation in order for them to function correctly).

This is where some of the other answers to this question, which reference module-info.java, come into the picture.

So let's take a crash course in Java modules:

Okay, so reflection is great sometimes, but we still want as much security as we can get from encapsulation. We can selectively open our packages to a pre-approved list of modules, in this case, using the opens…to directive:

So, you end up creating a src/main/java/module-info.java class which looks like this:

This tells the Java runtime that it is OK for classes in the javafx.graphics and javafx.fxml to invoke reflection on the classes in your org.jewelsea.demo.javafx.springboot package. Once this is done, and the application is compiled and re-run things will work fine and the IllegalAccessError generated by JavaFX's use of reflection will no longer occur.

But what if you don't want to create a module-info.java file

If instead of using the the Run button in the top toolbar of IDE to run your application class directly, you instead:

Went to the Maven window in the side of the IDE.
Chose the javafx maven plugin target javafx.run.
Right-clicked on that and chose either Run Maven Build or Debug....

Then the app will run without the module-info.java file. I guess this is because the maven plugin is smart enough to dynamically include some kind of settings which allows the app to be reflected on by the JavaFX classes even without a module-info.java file, though I don't know how this is accomplished.

To get that setting transferred to the Run button in the top toolbar, right-click on the javafx.run Maven target and choose the option to Create Run/Debug Configuration for the target. Then you can just choose Run from the top toolbar to execute the Maven target.

if you are using XAMPP then you can easily send mail from localhost.

for example you can configure C:\xampp\php\php.ini and c:\xampp\sendmail\sendmail.ini for gmail to send mail.

in C:\xampp\php\php.ini find extension=php_openssl.dll and remove the semicolon from the beginning of that line to make SSL working for gmail for localhost.

in php.ini file find [mail function] and change

The code at the link is a three liner: def, doc, and return. It has a bug: you need to check for exploding logarithms. That is easy. Compare the input to sys.float_info.min. The complete solution is:

On Ubuntu 18.04, I ran into this issue because the apt package for wheel does not include the wheel command. I think pip tries to import the wheel python package, and if that succeeds assumes that the wheel command is also available. Ubuntu breaks that assumption.

The apt python3 code package is named python3-wheel. This is installed automatically because python3-pip recommends it.

The apt python3 wheel command package is named python-wheel-common. Installing this too fixes the "failed building wheel" errors for me.

moment.js is great but sometimes you don't want to pull a large number of dependencies for simple things.

The following works as well:

I pad output with more digits (zeros) than I need then use tail to only use the number of digits I am looking for. Notice that you have to use '6' in tail to get the last five digits :)

Recursion in Python? RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded while calling a Python object

Python lacks the tail recursion optimizations common in functional languages like lisp. In Python, recursion is limited to 999 calls (see sys.getrecursionlimit).

If 999 depth is more than you are expecting, check if the implementation lacks a condition that stops recursion, or if this test may be wrong for some cases.

I dare to say that in Python, pure recursive algorithm implementations are not correct/safe. A fib() implementation limited to 999 is not really correct. It is always possible to convert recursive into iterative, and doing so is trivial.

It is not reached often because in many recursive algorithms the depth tend to be logarithmic. If it is not the case with your algorithm and you expect recursion deeper than 999 calls you have two options:

1) You can change the recursion limit with sys.setrecursionlimit(n) until the maximum allowed for your platform:

sys.setrecursionlimit(limit):

Set the maximum depth of the Python interpreter stack to limit. This limit prevents infinite recursion from causing an overflow of the C stack and crashing Python.

The highest possible limit is platform-dependent. A user may need to set the limit higher when she has a program that requires deep recursion and a platform that supports a higher limit. This should be done with care, because a too-high limit can lead to a crash.

2) You can try to convert the algorithm from recursive to iterative. If recursion depth is bigger than allowed by your platform, it is the only way to fix the problem. There are step by step instructions on the Internet and it should be a straightforward operation for someone with some CS education. If you are having trouble with that, post a new question so we can help.

System.currentTimeMillis()

So writing

IE9 jQuery AJAX with CORS returns "Access is denied"

I was testing a CORS web service on my dev machine and was getting the "Access is denied" error message in only IE. Firefox and Chrome worked fine. It turns out this was caused by my use of localhost in the ajax call! So my browser URL was something like:

http://my_computer.my_domain.local/CORS_Service/test.html

and my ajax call inside of test.html was something like:

//fails in IE

  url: "http://localhost/CORS_Service/api/Controller",
  ...
});

Everything worked once I changed the ajax call to use my computer IP instead of localhost.

The IE dev tools window "Network" tab also shows CORS Preflight OPTIONS request followed by the XMLHttpRequest GET, which is exactly what I expected to see.

UIView frame, bounds and center

Since the question I asked has been seen many times I will provide a detailed answer of it. Feel free to modify it if you want to add more correct content.

First a recap on the question: frame, bounds and center and theirs relationships.

Frame A view's frame (CGRect) is the position of its rectangle in the superview's coordinate system. By default it starts at the top left.

Bounds A view's bounds (CGRect) expresses a view rectangle in its own coordinate system.

Center A center is a CGPoint expressed in terms of the superview's coordinate system and it determines the position of the exact center point of the view.

Taken from UIView + position these are the relationships (they don't work in code since they are informal equations) among the previous properties:

frame.origin = center - (bounds.size / 2.0)
center = frame.origin + (bounds.size / 2.0)
frame.size = bounds.size

NOTE: These relationships do not apply if views are rotated. For further info, I will suggest you take a look at the following image taken from The Kitchen Drawer based on Stanford CS193p course. Credits goes to @Rhubarb.

Frame, bounds and center

Using the frame allows you to reposition and/or resize a view within its superview. Usually can be used from a superview, for example, when you create a specific subview. For example:

When you need the coordinates to drawing inside a view you usually refer to bounds. A typical example could be to draw within a view a subview as an inset of the first. Drawing the subview requires to know the bounds of the superview. For example:

Different behaviours happen when you change the bounds of a view. For example, if you change the bounds size, the frame changes (and vice versa). The change happens around the center of the view. Use the code below and see what happens:

Furthermore, if you change bounds origin you change the origin of its internal coordinate system. By default the origin is at (0.0, 0.0) (top left corner). For example, if you change the origin for view1 you can see (comment the previous code if you want) that now the top left corner for view2 touches the view1 one. The motivation is quite simple. You say to view1 that its top left corner now is at the position (20.0, 20.0) but since view2's frame origin starts from (20.0, 20.0), they will coincide.

view1.bounds = frame;

The origin represents the view's position within its superview but describes the position of the bounds center.

Finally, bounds and origin are not related concepts. Both allow to derive the frame of a view (See previous equations).

Here you say to [self view] that its top left corner now is at the position (30.0, 20.0) but since view1's frame origin starts from (30.0, 20.0), they will coincide.

About clipsToBounds (source Apple doc)

Setting this value to YES causes subviews to be clipped to the bounds of the receiver. If set to NO, subviews whose frames extend beyond the visible bounds of the receiver are not clipped. The default value is NO.

In other words, if a view's frame is (0, 0, 100, 100) and its subview is (90, 90, 30, 30), you will see only a part of that subview. The latter won't exceed the bounds of the parent view.

masksToBounds is equivalent to clipsToBounds. Instead to a UIView, this property is applied to a CALayer. Under the hood, clipsToBounds calls masksToBounds. For further references take a look to How is the relation between UIView's clipsToBounds and CALayer's masksToBounds?.

I personnaly had this problem in a procedure. If you dont want to alter table you can try to convert your parameter into the procedure . I've try sevral use of collate (with a set into the select) but none works for me.

If both the conditions qualified i.e. true the else block will be skipped and print “Conditions is met with name”.

Basically we are checking two things here separated by comma, first unwrapping and optional and checking whether that satisfies condition or not.

Here we are passing nothing to the function i.e. empty string and hence Condition is false is print.

Sorting a list in descending order can be performed on this way:

Collections.reverse(list);

A fatal error occurred while creating a TLS client credential. The internal error state is 10013

Basically we had to enable TLS 1.2 for .NET 4.x. Making this registry changed worked for me, and stopped the event log filling up with the Schannel error.

In SQL 2005, you first need to show the Database Name column in your trace. The easiest thing to do is to pick the Tuning template, which has that column added already.

Assuming you have the Tuning template selected, to filter:
