It is a common misconception that time (a measurable 4th dimension) is different over the world. Timestamp as a moment in time is unique. Date however is influenced how we "see" time but actually it is "time of day".

An example: two people look at the clock at the same moment. The timestamp is the same, right? But one of them is in London and sees 12:00 noon (GMT, timezone offset is 0), and the other is in Belgrade and sees 14:00 (CET, Central Europe, daylight saving now, offset is +2).

Their perception is different but the moment is the same.

OK, it's not a duplicate of this question but it is pointless since you are confusing the terms "Timestamp = moment in time (objective)" and "Date[Time] = time of day (subjective)".

Let's look at your original question code broken down like this:

But as you said yourself printing them out as strings will result in "different" time because DateTime applies the time zone. That's why "time" is stored and transferred as Timestamp objects (which basically wraps a long) and displayed or entered as Date[Time].

In your own answer you are artificially adding an offset and creating a "wrong" time. If you use that timestamp to create another DateTime and print it out it will be offset twice.

You can also let angular material solve the size itself depending on the content. This means you don't have to cloud your TS files with sizes that depend on your UI. You can keep these in the HTML/CSS.

UNNEST function with arrays can be used along with multirow VALUES syntax. I'm think that this method is slower than using COPY but it is useful to me in work with psycopg and python (python list passed to cursor.execute becomes pg ARRAY):

The issue was fixed by removing the EntityFramework.dll v4.0 from my MVC project. I've also updated the web.config file with the correct 5.0 version. Then everything worked as expected.

You have a view model to which your view is strongly typed => use strongly typed helpers:

Here is another way to do with "Computer Name/Domain Change" Windows of System Properties.

In other words, bring up System Properties| Computer Name Tab then click Change using powershell. It is different approach, it is useful in my situation and it could be helpful for someone else.

You only use sudo or elevated permissions when you want to install stuff for the global, system-wide Python installation.

It is best to use a virtual environment which isolates packages for you. That way you can play around without polluting the global python install.

As a bonus, virtualenv does not need elevated permissions.

I met this issue due to operation system, simple to different platform about JRE implementation.

will get the same value in Windows, while it's different in Linux. So in Linux need to be changed to

Problem solved! I just figured out how to solve the issue, but I would still like to know if this is normal behavior or not.

It seems that even though the Websocket connection establishes correctly (indicated by the 101 Switching Protocols request), it still defaults to long-polling. The fix was as simple as adding this option to the Socket.io connection function:

{transports: ['websocket']}

So the code finally looks like this:

Have you tried loading all the initialization functions using the $().ready, running the jQuery function you wanted last?

Perhaps you can use setTimeout() on the $().ready function you wanted to run, calling the functionality you wanted to load.

Or, use setInterval() and have the interval check to see if all the other load functions have completed (store the status in a boolean variable). When conditions are met, you could cancel the interval and run the load function.

Generally what's meant by that is a fairly intimate familiarity with one (or probably more) of the .NET languages (C#, VB.NET, etc.) and one (or less probably more) of the .NET stacks (WinForms, ASP.NET, WPF, etc.).

As for a specific "formal definition", I don't think you'll find one beyond that. The job description should be specific about what they're looking for. I wouldn't consider a job listing that asks for a ".NET developer" and provides no more detail than that to be sufficiently descriptive.

I found it working for me by setting this variable directly on Azure platorm (if you use it). Just select your web app -> configuration -> application settings and add the variable and its value, then press Save button.

The width: inherit; height: inherit; pulls the width and height from the parent element. This should be the default and is not truly necessary.

Try removing the h1 { ... } CSS block and see what happens. You might notice the layout reacts in an odd way. This is because the h1 element is influencing the layout of its container. You could prevent this by declaring overflow: hidden; on the container or the body.

Here is a work around I found if you want to only shuffle a subset of the DataFrame:

Send file as binary content (upload without form or FormData)

In the given answers/examples the file is (most likely) uploaded with a HTML form or using the FormData API. The file is only a part of the data sent in the request, hence the multipart/form-data Content-Type header.

If you want to send the file as the only content then you can directly add it as the request body and you set the Content-Type header to the MIME type of the file you are sending. The file name can be added in the Content-Disposition header. You can upload like this:

has set aside storage for 10 rows of 20 unit8_t locations, i.e. 200 uint8_t sized locations, with each element being found by calculating 20 x row + column.

So doesn't

uint8_t (*matrix_ptr)[20] = l_matrix;

give you what you need and point to the column zero element of the first row of the array?

Edit: Thinking about this a bit further, isn't an array name, by definition, a pointer? That is, the name of an array is a synonym for the location of the first element, i.e. l_matrix[0][0]?

Edit2: As mentioned by others, the comment space is a bit too small for further discussion. Anyway:

All pointer manipulations automatically take into account the size of the object pointed to. - K&R Section 5.4, p.103

This is also the case if any padding or byte alignment shifting is involved in the storage of the object at hand. The compiler will automatically adjust for these. By definition of the C ANSI standard.

If your byte array may contain runs of ASCII characters that you'd like to be able to see, you might prefer BAIS (Byte Array In String) format instead of Base64. The nice thing about BAIS is that if all the bytes happen to be ASCII, they are converted 1-to-1 to a string (e.g. byte array {65,66,67} becomes simply "ABC") Also, BAIS often gives you a smaller file size than Base64 (this isn't guaranteed).

After converting the byte array to a BAIS string, write it to JSON like you would any other string.

5. Save the Macro and Close the Editor

You can simply add the two.

• if the Time part of your Date column is always zero
• and the Date part of your Time column is also always zero (base date: January 1, 1900)

Adding them returns the correct result.

It works like this due to the way the date is stored as two 4-byte Integers with the left 4-bytes being the date and the right 4-bytes being the time. Its like doing $0001 0000 + $0000 0001 = $0001 0001

Edit regarding new SQL Server 2008 types

Date and Time are types introduced in SQL Server 2008. If you insist on adding, you can use Combined = CAST(MyDate AS DATETIME) + CAST(MyTime AS DATETIME)

If you aren't looking to do anything to the stuff in the file, just display it, you can actually just include() it. include works for any file type, but of course it runs any php code it finds inside.

Take care to reset target, otherwise all other calls like Response.Redirect will open in a new tab, which might be not what you want.

It's a syntactically valid request, but not a satisfiable request. If you look further in that section you see:

So I think in your example, the server should return a 416 since it's not a valid byte range for that file.

Use the Javascript string split() function.

rewire is great for this use case, you get a new instance with each call. Easy dependency injection for node.js unit testing.

rewire adds a special setter and getter to modules so you can modify their behaviour for better unit testing. You may

inject mocks for other modules or globals like process leak private variables override variables within the module. rewire does not load the file and eval the contents to emulate node's require mechanism. In fact it uses node's own require to load the module. Thus your module behaves exactly the same in your test environment as under regular circumstances (except your modifications).

Good news to all caffeine-addicts: rewire works also with Coffee-Script. Note that in this case CoffeeScript needs to be listed in your devDependencies.

It seems to be well maintained.

For me this error was because I did NOT have Microsoft.AspNet.WebHelpers installed after updating from MVC 4 to MVC 5. It was fixed by installing the NuGet package

Apart from the information given by David M. Lloyd one could add that the mechanism that allows this is called target typing.

The idea is that the type the compiler assigns to a lambda expressions or a method references does not depend only on the expression itself, but also on where it is used.

The target of an expression is the variable to which its result is assigned or the parameter to which its result is passed.

Lambda expressions and method references are assigned a type which matches the type of their target, if such a type can be found.

In my case, I had this javascript on the form submit:

SAX:

1. Parses node by node

2. Does not store the XML in memory

3. We cant insert or delete a node

DOM

1. Stores the entire XML document into memory before processing

2. Occupies more memory

3. We can insert or delete nodes

4. Traverse in any direction.

If we need to find a node and does not need to insert or delete we can go with SAX itself otherwise DOM provided we have more memory.

I couldn't get any of the commands on this page to work for me: the sed solution added a newline to the end of all the files it processed, and the perl solution was unable to accept enough arguments from find. I found this solution which works perfectly:

enum fields are compile time constants, but they are instances of their enum type. And, they're constructed when the enum type is referenced for the first time.

As mentioned in the other answers, you don't need jQuery to do this; you can just use the standard properties.

However, it seems you don't seem to know the difference between window.location.replace(url) and window.location = url.

1. window.location.replace(url) replaces the current location in the address bar by a new one. The page that was calling the function, won't be included in the browser history. Therefore, on the new location, clicking the back button in your browser would make you go back to the page you were viewing before you visited the document containing the redirecting JavaScript.
2. window.location = url redirects to the new location. On this new page, the back button in your browser would point to the original page containing the redirecting JavaScript.

Of course, both have their use cases, but it seems to me like in this case you should stick with the latter.

Writing "use strict"; at the very top of your JS file turns on strict syntax checking. It does the following tasks for us:

1. shows an error if you try to assign to an undeclared variable

2. stops you from overwriting key JS system libraries

use strict also works inside of individual functions. It is always a better practice to include use strict in your code.

Browser compatibility issue: The "use" directives are meant to be backwards-compatible. Browsers that do not support them will just see a string literal that isn't referenced further. So, they will pass over it and move on.

Using & is fine for short commands, but that single line can get very long very quick. When that happens, switch to multi-line syntax.

You can view and edit all outgoing requests, and see the responses from those requests in several forms, depending on the type of the response. First off let's clarify what a polyfil is not: A polyfill is not part of the HTML5 Standard. Nor is a polyfill limited to Javascript, even though you often see polyfills being referred to in those contexts.

Make sure the --post-data parameter is properly percent-encoded (especially ampersands!) or the request will probably fail. I have a use case where I think finally should be a perfectly acceptable part of the C++11 language, as I think it is easier to read from a flow point of view. My use case is a consumer/producer chain of threads, where a sentinel nullptr is sent at the end of the run to shut down all threads.

If C++ supported it, you would want your code to look like this:

I think this is more logical that putting your finally declaration at the start of the loop, since it occurs after the loop has exited... but that is wishful thinking because we can't do it in C++. Note that the queue downstream is connected to another thread, so you can't put in the sentinel push(nullptr) in the destructor of downstream because it can't be destroyed at this point... it needs to stay alive until the other thread receives the nullptr.

So here is how to use a RAII class with lambda to do the same:

Prefer bidirectional associations: Unidirectional associations are more difficult to query. In a large application, almost all associations must be navigable in both directions in queries.

I personally have a slight problem with this blanket recommendation -- it seems to me there are cases where a child doesn't have any practical reason to know about its parent (e.g., why does an order item need to know about the order it is associated with?), but I do see value in it a reasonable portion of the time as well. I have created a tool that can accomplish automatic semantic versioning based on the tags in commit messages, known as change types. This closely follows the Angular Commit Message Convention along with the Semantic Versioning Specification.

You could use this tool to automatically change the version in the package.json using the npm CLI (this is described here).

In addition, it can create a changelog from these commits and also has a menu (with a spell checker for commit messages) for creating commits based on the change type. I highly recommend checking it out and reading to docs to see everything that can be accomplished with it.

I wrote the tool because I couldn't find anything that suited my needs for my CICD Pipeline to automate semantic versioning. I'd rather focus on what the actual changes are than what the version should be and that's where my tool saves the day.

CSV is a Comma Seperated File. Generally the delimiter is a comma, but I have seen many other characters used as delimiters. They are just not as frequently used.

As for advising you on what to use, we need to know your application. Is the file specific to your application/program, or does this need to work with other programs?

In my case, while copying the text from other source it somehow included the space at the end of clipboard entry. That way the key password had a space at the end.

OSX's Python binary (version 2) is located at /usr/bin/python

if you use which python it will tell you where the python command is being resolved to. Typically, what happens is third parties redefine things in /usr/local/bin (which takes precedence, by default over /usr/bin). To fix, you can either run /usr/bin/python directly to use 2.x or find the errant redefinition (probably in /usr/local/bin or somewhere else in your PATH)

And another useful command to do this (after git fetch) is:

git log origin/master ^master

This shows the commits that are in origin/master but not in master. You can also do it in opposite when doing git pull, to check what commits will be submitted to remote.

I generally like to use my own extension for that:

Since it takes quite a while to fetch the status of a working copy, TortoiseSVN uses a cache to store the status so the explorer doesn't get hogged too much when showing the overlays. You can choose which type of cache TortoiseSVN should use according to your system and working copy size here:

Default

Caches all status information in a separate process (TSVNCache.exe). That process watches all drives for changes and fetches the status again if files inside a working copy get modified. The process runs with the least possible priority so other programs don't get hogged because of it. That also means that the status information is not real time but it can take a few seconds for the overlays to change.

Advantage: the overlays show the status recursively, i.e. if a file deep inside a working copy is modified, all folders up to the working copy root will also show the modified overlay. And since the process can send notifications to the shell, the overlays on the left tree view usually change too.

Disadvantage: the process runs constantly, even if you're not working on your projects. It also uses around 10-50 MB of RAM depending on number and size of your working copies.

Shell

Caching is done directly inside the shell extension dll, but only for the currently visible folder. Each time you navigate to another folder, the status information is fetched again.

Advantage: needs only very little memory (around 1 MB of RAM) and can show the status in real time.

Disadvantage: Since only one folder is cached, the overlays don't show the status recursively. For big working copies, it can take more time to show a folder in explorer than with the default cache. Also the mime-type column is not available.

None

With this setting, the TortoiseSVN does not fetch the status at all in Explorer. Because of that, files don't get an overlay and folders only get a 'normal' overlay if they're versioned. No other overlays are shown, and no extra columns are available either.

Advantage: uses absolutely no additional memory and does not slow down the Explorer at all while browsing.

Disadvantage: Status information of files and folders is not shown in Explorer. To see if your working copies are modified, you have to use the “Check for modifications” dialog.

There's a really good paper by Microsoft Research called To Blob or Not To Blob.

Their conclusion after a large number of performance tests and analysis is this:

• if your pictures or document are typically below 256K in size, storing them in a database VARBINARY column is more efficient

• if your pictures or document are typically over 1 MB in size, storing them in the filesystem is more efficient (and with SQL Server 2008's FILESTREAM attribute, they're still under transactional control and part of the database)

• in between those two, it's a bit of a toss-up depending on your use

If you decide to put your pictures into a SQL Server table, I would strongly recommend using a separate table for storing those pictures - do not store the employee photo in the employee table - keep them in a separate table. That way, the Employee table can stay lean and mean and very efficient, assuming you don't always need to select the employee photo, too, as part of your queries.

For filegroups, check out Files and Filegroup Architecture for an intro. Basically, you would either create your database with a separate filegroup for large data structures right from the beginning, or add an additional filegroup later. Let's call it "LARGE_DATA".

Now, whenever you have a new table to create which needs to store VARCHAR(MAX) or VARBINARY(MAX) columns, you can specify this file group for the large data:

WHAT IS THIS CODE DOING?

To cancel a request a "promise" timeout must be set. If no timeout is set on the HTTP request then the code adds a "promise" timeout. (If a timeout is set already then nothing is changed).

However, to resolve the promise we need a handle on the "deferred". We thus use a map so we can retrieve the "deferred" later. When we call the abort method, the "deferred" is retrieved from the map and then we call the resolve method to cancel the http request.

I've faced with the same problem, have struggled a couple of day with it and should say that the most easiest way to overcome I found this is to use fragment.hide() / fragment.show() when tab is selected/unselected().

When screen rotation occurs all parent and child fragments get correctly destroyed.

This approach has also one additional advantage - using hide()/show() does not cause fragment views to loose their state, so there is no need to restore the previous scroll position for ScrollViews for example.

The problem is that I don't know whether it is correct to not detach fragments when they are not visible. I think the official example of TabListener is designed with a thought in mind that fragments are reusable and you should not pollute with them memory, however, I think if you have just a few tabs and you know that users will be switching between them frequently it will be appropriate to keep them attached to the current activity.

What I did (Windows 10) for a new installation:

1. Start cmd in admin mode (run as administrator by hitting windows key, typing cmd, right clicking on it and selecting "Run as Administrator"

2. Change into "MySQL Server X.Y" directory (for me the full path is C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.7")

3. using notepad create a my.ini with a mysqld section that points at your data directory

As the official specification says, "one or more different sets of data are combined in a single body". So when photos and music are handled as multipart messages as mentioned in the question, probably there is some plain text metadata associated as well, thus making the request containing different types of data (binary, text), which implies the usage of multipart.

The exec family of functions make your process execute a different program, replacing the old program it was running. I.e., if you call

then the ls program is executed with the process id, current working dir and user/group (access rights) of the process that called execl. Afterwards, the original program is not running anymore.

To start a new process, the fork system call is used. To execute a program without replacing the original, you need to fork, then exec.

I know it's late, but I thought it would be nice to clarify things: PyCharm and Conda and pip work well together.

The short answer

Just manage Conda from the command line. PyCharm will automatically notice changes once they happen, just like it does with pip.

The long answer

Create a new Conda environment:

conda create --name foo pandas bokeh

This environment lives under conda_root/envs/foo. Your python interpreter is conda_root/envs/foo/bin/pythonX.X and your all your site-packages are in conda_root/envs/foo/lib/pythonX.X/site-packages. This is same directory structure as in a pip virtual environement. PyCharm sees no difference.

Now to activate your new environment from PyCharm go to file > settings > project > interpreter, select Add local in the project interpreter field (the little gear wheel) and hunt down your python interpreter. Congratulations! You now have a Conda environment with pandas and bokeh!

Now install more packages:

conda install scikit-learn

OK... go back to your interpreter in settings. Magically, PyCharm now sees scikit-learn!

And the reverse is also true, i.e. when you pip install another package in PyCharm, Conda will automatically notice. Say you've installed requests. Now list the Conda packages in your current environment:

conda list

The list now includes requests and Conda has correctly detected (3rd column) that it was installed with pip.

Conclusion

This is definitely good news for people like myself who are trying to get away from the pip/virtualenv installation problems when packages are not pure python.

NB: I run PyCharm pro edition 4.5.3 on Linux. For Windows users, replace in command line with in the GUI (and forward slashes with backslashes). There's no reason it shouldn't work for you too.

EDIT: PyCharm5 is out with Conda support! In the community edition too.

Apache Tomcat is a java servlet container. It features same as web server but is customized to execute java servlet and JSP pages.

Back in the old days of Python, to call a function with arbitrary arguments, you would use apply:

apply still exists in Python2.7 though not in Python3, and is generally not used anymore. Nowadays,

f(*args,**kwargs)

is preferred. The multiprocessing.Pool modules tries to provide a similar interface.

Pool.apply is like Python apply, except that the function call is performed in a separate process. Pool.apply blocks until the function is completed.

Pool.apply_async is also like Python's built-in apply, except that the call returns immediately instead of waiting for the result. An AsyncResult object is returned. You call its get() method to retrieve the result of the function call. The get() method blocks until the function is completed. Thus, pool.apply(func, args, kwargs) is equivalent to pool.apply_async(func, args, kwargs).get().

In contrast to Pool.apply, the Pool.apply_async method also has a callback which, if supplied, is called when the function is complete. This can be used instead of calling get().

So, if you need to run a function in a separate process, but want the current process to block until that function returns, use Pool.apply. Like Pool.apply, Pool.map blocks until the complete result is returned.

If you want the Pool of worker processes to perform many function calls asynchronously, use Pool.apply_async. The order of the results is not guaranteed to be the same as the order of the calls to Pool.apply_async.

Notice also that you could call a number of different functions with Pool.apply_async (not all calls need to use the same function).

In contrast, Pool.map applies the same function to many arguments. However, unlike Pool.apply_async, the results are returned in an order corresponding to the order of the arguments.

If you happen to be using the amqplib library as I am, they have a handy example of an implementation of the Publish/Subscribe RabbitMQ tutorial which you might find handy.

Not sure if that might really help you but that's how caching should work on any browser. When the browser request a file, it should always send a request to the server unless there is a "offline" mode. The server will read some parameters like date modified or etags.

The server will return a 304 error response for NOT MODIFIED and the browser will have to use its cache. If the etag doesn't validate on server side or the modified date is below the current modified date, the server should return the new content with the new modified date or etags or both.

If there is no caching data sent to the browser, I guess the behavior is undetermined, the browser may or may not cache file that don't tell how they are cached. If you set caching parameters in the response it will cache your files correctly and the server then may choose to return a 304 error, or the new content.

This is how it should be done. Using random params or version number in urls is more like a hack than anything.

After reading I saw that there is also a expire date. If you have problem, it might be that you have a expire date set up. In other words, when the browser will cache your file, since it has a expiry date, it shouldn't have to request it again before that date. In other words, it will never ask the file to the server and will never receive a 304 not modified. It will simply use the cache until the expiry date is reached or cache is cleared.

So that is my guess, you have some sort of expiry date and you should use last-modified etags or a mix of it all and make sure that there is no expire date.

If people tends to refresh a lot and the file doesn't get changed a lot, then it might be wise to set a big expiry date.

My current reputation does not yet allow to post this as a comment. Stans solution to enter the debug mode, press twice Ctrl+Break, play on, save did solve my problem, but I have two unexpected twists:

1. My project struture is password protected, so in order to get into the Debug Mode I had to first enter Developer mode, click on the project structure and enter the password.

2. My project is a template file (.xmtl). I opened the file via double click which opens it as .xml with a "1" at the end of the previous file name. I fixed the bug as by Stans instruction and saved it as that ...1.xml file. When I then opened the template again, this time as template, and wanted to apply the same bug fix to that file, the bug was gone! I did not change this file and still no bug at executing the Macro. This means to me that the bug is not actually in the file, but in a (hidden) setting in Excel.

Note: copying a sheet from an XLS? to an XLS will result into an error. The opposite works fine (XLS to XLSX)

you can do some thing like this:

if text-decoration doesn't work then include text-decoration: none !important;

FYI, when you define a rule like you did above, with two selectors chained together:

.area1.item
{
    color:red;
}

It means:

Apply this style to any element that has both the class "area1" and "item".

Such as:

<div class="area1 item">

Sadly it doesn't work in IE6, but that's what it means.

This may be a silly solution, but I was looking for a solution to this problem and got lazy.

Anyway, using input class="btn..." ... instead of button and padding the value= attribute with spaces so that they are all the same width works pretty well.

eg :

If the element is currently not visible on the page, you can use the native scrollIntoView() method.

$('#div_' + element_id)[0].scrollIntoView( true );

Where true means align to the top of the page, and false is align to bottom.

Otherwise, there's a scrollTo() plugin for jQuery you can use.

Or maybe just get the top position()^(docs) of the element, and set the scrollTop()^(docs) to that position:

A continue statement without a label will re-execute from the condition the innermost while or do loop, and from the update expression of the innermost for loop. It is often used to early-terminate a loop's processing and thereby avoid deeply-nested if statements. In the following example continue will get the next line, without processing the following statement in the loop.

  if (line.isEmpty() || line.isComment())
    continue;
  // More code here
}

With a label, continue will re-execute from the loop with the corresponding label, rather than the innermost loop. This can be used to escape deeply-nested loops, or simply for clarity.

Sometimes continue is also used as a placeholder in order to make an empty loop body more clear.

  continue;

The same statement without a label also exists in C and C++. The equivalent in Perl is next.

This type of control flow is not recommended, but if you so choose you can also use continue to simulate a limited form of goto. In the following example the continue will re-execute the empty for (;;) loop.
