First, I wouldn't use document.body. Instead add an empty container:

How to keep Docker container running after starting services?

Motivation:

There is nothing wrong in running multiple processes inside of a docker container. If one likes to use docker as a light weight VM - so be it. Others like to split their applications into micro services. Me thinks: A LAMP stack in one container? Just great.

Stick with a good base image like the phusion base image. There may be others. Please comment.

And this is yet just another plead for supervisor. Because the phusion base image is providing supervisor besides of some other things like cron and locale setup. Stuff you like to have setup when running such a light weight VM. For what it's worth it also provides ssh connections into the container.

The phusion image itself will just start and keep running if you issue this basic docker run statement:

If you read with readObject() you must write with writeObject().
If you read with readUTF() you must write with writeUTF().

Eclipse/Maven error: "No compiler is provided in this environment"

For me (on windows 10), I was getting the error "No compiler is provided in this environment" at the Windows command prompt when I ran mvn install. The fix was changing the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to my jdk (C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_101); previously it had pointed to the jre.

And to get Eclipse to use the new jdk, I edited eclipse.ini in my eclipse distribution and changed the line for -vm to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_101\bin.

Importing large sql file to MySql via command line

+1 to @MartinNuc, you can run the mysql client in batch mode and then you won't see the long stream of "OK" lines.

The amount of time it takes to import a given SQL file depends on a lot of things. Not only the size of the file, but the type of statements in it, how powerful your server server is, and how many other things are running at the same time.

@MartinNuc says he can load 4GB of SQL in 4-5 minutes, but I have run 0.5 GB SQL files and had it take 45 minutes on a smaller server.

We can't really guess how long it will take to run your SQL script on your server.

@MartinNuc is correct you can choose to make the mysql client print every statement. Or you could open a second session and run mysql> SHOW PROCESSLIST to see what's running. But you probably are more interested in a "percentage done" figure or an estimate for how long it will take to complete the remaining statements.

Sorry, there is no such feature. The mysql client doesn't know how long it will take to run later statements, or even how many there are. So it can't give a meaningful estimate for how much time it will take to complete.

I saw the following presentation on jQueryUK on "hidden secrets" in Googe Chrome (Canary) Dev Tools: DevTools Can do that. Check out the sections on Time to First Paint, repaints and costly CSS.
Also, if you are using a loader like requireJS you could have a look at one of the CSS loader plugins, called require-CSS, which uses CSSO - a optimzer that also does structural optimization, eg. merging blocks with identical properties. I used it a few times and it can save quite a lot of CSS from case to case.

Off the question: I second @Enzino in creating a sprite for all the small icons you are loading. The file sizes are so small it does not really warrant a server roundtrip for each icon. Also keep in mind the total number of concurrent http requests are browser can do. So requests for a larger number of small icons are "render-blocking" as well. Although an empty page compare to yours, I like how duckduckgo loads for example.

What is the correct way to read from NetworkStream in .NET

Setting the underlying socket ReceiveTimeout property did the trick. You can access it like this: yourTcpClient.Client.ReceiveTimeout. You can read the docs for more information.

Now the code will only "sleep" as long as needed for some data to arrive in the socket, or it will raise an exception if no data arrives, at the beginning of a read operation, for more than 20ms. I can tweak this timeout if needed. Now I'm not paying the 20ms price in every iteration, I'm only paying it at the last read operation. Since I have the content-length of the message in the first bytes read from the server I can use it to tweak it even more and not try to read if all expected data has been already received.

I find using ReceiveTimeout much easier than implementing asynchronous read... Here is the working code:

Why can't I use the 'await' operator within the body of a lock statement?

Why can't decimal numbers be represented exactly in binary?

This is a good question.

All your question is based on "how do we represent a number?"

ALL the numbers can be represented with decimal representation or with binary (2's complement) representation. All of them !!

BUT some (most of them) require infinite number of elements ("0" or "1" for the binary position, or "0", "1" to "9" for the decimal representation).

Like 1/3 in decimal representation (1/3 = 0.3333333... <- with an infinite number of "3")

Like 0.1 in binary ( 0.1 = 0.00011001100110011.... <- with an infinite number of "0011")

Everything is in that concept. Since your computer can only consider finite set of digits (decimal or binary), only some numbers can be exactly represented in your computer...

And as said Jon, 3 is a prime number which isn't a factor of 10, so 1/3 cannot be represented with a finite number of elements in base 10.

Even with arithmetic with arbitrary precision, the numbering position system in base 2 is not able to fully describe 6.1, although it can represent 61.

For 6.1, we must use another representation (like decimal representation, or IEEE 854 that allows base 2 or base 10 for the representation of floating-point values)

ProcessStartInfo hanging on "WaitForExit"? Why?

Let us call the sample code posted here the redirector and the other program the redirected. If it were me then I would probably write a test redirected program that can be used to duplicate the problem.

So I did. For test data I used the ECMA-334 C# Language Specificationv PDF; it is about 5MB. The following is the important part of that.

The datasize value does not match the actual file size but that does not matter. It is not clear if a PDF file always uses both CR and LF at the end of lines but that does not matter for this. You can use any other large text file to test with.

Using that the sample redirector code hangs when I write the large amount of data but not when I write a small amount.

I tried very much to somehow trace the execution of that code and I could not. I commented out the lines of the redirected program that disabled creation of a console for the redirected program to try to get a separate console window but I could not.

Then I found How to start a console app in a new window, the parent’s window, or no window. So apparently we cannot (easily) have a separate console when one console program starts another console program without ShellExecute and since ShellExecute does not support redirection we must share a console, even if we specify no window for the other process.

I assume that if the redirected program fills up a buffer somewhere then it must wait for the data to be read and if at that point no data is read by the redirector then it is a deadlock.

The solution is to not use ReadToEnd and to read the data while the data is being written but it is not necessary to use asynchronous reads. The solution can be quite simple. The following works for me with the 5 MB PDF.

Condition within JOIN or WHERE

I typically see performance increases when filtering on the join. Especially if you can join on indexed columns for both tables. You should be able to cut down on logical reads with most queries doing this too, which is, in a high volume environment, a much better performance indicator than execution time.

What is the difference between logical data model and conceptual data model?

I need to produce both a logical model and a conceptual model. All the explanations here are really vague. The link posted above just shows the difference being that a conceptual model is a logical model without fields. Ok fine, I don't mention the name of the database. It appears to be totally redundant.

I really don't know what 'semantic' means. can someone explain what I would do differently using 'english' and possibly post a link to better examples than a picture that shows one picture that has fields and one that does not. The buzzwords are all well and good, but its so vague its not useful to practically implement.

physical model: actually tables. The little pictures have data types in them and named pk/fk constraints Logical Model: click the little button my tool (using Oracles SQL Developer Data Modeller, I dont have an erwin license and 2010 visio no longer reverse engineers out of the DB), and then the images on the screen change slightly. The data types are gone and the names of the constraints are gone, then the colors of the table representations changes to purple (so now I call them entities).

ok. so what would my Conceptual model look like other then: exact same thing as my logical model minus the fields. I would think there is more to it than this. Reciting that its a 'semantic' representation of data sounds real nice and fancy, but doesn't make sense to someone who has not made one of these before.

How can I make a thumbnail <img> show a full size image when clicked?

This won't do what you are expecting:

The ALT attribute is text-only--it won't do anything special if you give it an image URL.

If you want to initially display a low res image, then replace it with a high res image, you could do some javascript coding to swap out the images. Or, perhaps load the image into a div which has a background pattern filled with the low res image. Then, when the high res image loads, it'll load overtop the background.

Unfortunately, there's no direct way to do this.

Your second attempt will create a link to image2, but actually display image1.

Where can I find error log files?

This is a preferable answer in most use cases, because it allows you to decouple execution of the software from direct knowledge of the server platform, which keeps your code much more portable. If you are doing a lot of cron/cgi, this may not help directly, but it can be set into a config at web runtime that the cron/cgi scripts pull from to keep the log location consistent in that case.

You can get the current log file assigned natively to php on any platform at runtime by using:

ini_get('error_log');

This returns the value distributed directly to the php binary by the webserver, which is what you want in 90% of use cases (with the glaring exception being cgi). Cgi will often log to this same location as the http webserver client, but not always.

You will also want to check that it is writeable before committing anything to it to avoid errors. The conf file that defines it's location (typically either apache.conf globally or vhosts.conf on a per-domain basis), but the conf does not ensure that file permissions allow write access at runtime.

With large data, removing a column can take an unusually long amount of time and/or fail due to out of memory errors. Package data.table helps address this problem with the := operator:

Dirk's method above will absolutely work, but if you're looking for a way to bring in a long string where whitespace/structure is important to preserve (example: a SQL query using RODBC) there is a two step solution.

1) Bring the text string in across multiple lines

2) R will introduce a bunch of \n characters. Strip those out with strwrap(), which destroys whitespace, per the documentation:

strwrap(long_string, width=10000, simplify=TRUE)

Well, it's too late to post an answer, but I feel my explanation will be easy to understand for beginners with Angular. The following is one of the examples that I give during my presentation.

Consider your angular Application as a building. A building can have N number of apartments in it. An apartment is considered as a module. An Apartment can then have N number of rooms which correspond to the building blocks of an Angular application named components.

Now each apartment (Module)` will have rooms (Components), lifts (Services) to enable larger movement in and out the apartments, wires (Pipes) to transform around and make it useful in the apartments.

Best way to make a shell script daemon?

Just backgrounding your script (./myscript &) will not daemonize it. See http://www.faqs.org/faqs/unix-faq/programmer/faq/, section 1.7, which describes what's necessary to become a daemon. You must disconnect it from the terminal so that SIGHUP does not kill it. You can take a shortcut to make a script appear to act like a daemon;

nohup ./myscript 0<&- &>/dev/null &

will do the job. Or, to capture both stderr and stdout to a file:

nohup ./myscript 0<&- &> my.admin.log.file &

However, there may be further important aspects that you need to consider. For example:

You will still have a file descriptor open to the script, which means that the directory it's mounted in would be unmountable. To be a true daemon you should chdir("/") (or cd / inside your script), and fork so that the parent exits, and thus the original descriptor is closed.
Perhaps run umask 0. You may not want to depend on the umask of the caller of the daemon.

How do you run JavaScript script through the Terminal?

If you have a Mac you can get jsc a javascript console in OS X (Terminal) by typing

/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaScriptCore.framework/Versions/Current/Resources/jsc

in Terminal.app.

You could also run one of your .js script by adding its name as an argument for jsc, like this:

jsc your_awesome_script_name.js

Notice: I use console.log() during development but jsc needs the debug() function instead.

On Ubuntu you have some nice ECMAScript shells at your disposal. Between them it's worth to mention SpiderMonkey. You can add It by sudo apt-get install spidermonkey

On Windows as other people said you can rely on cscript and wscript directly built on the OS.

ConcurrentLinkedQueue is lock-free, LinkedBlockingQueue is not. Every time you invoke LinkedBlockingQueue.put() or LinkedBlockingQueue.take(), you need acquire the lock first. In other word, LinkedBlockingQueue has poor concurrency. If you care performance, try ConcurrentLinkedQueue + LockSupport.

If you want remove all local changes - including files that are untracked by git - from your working copy, simply stash them:

git stash push --include-untracked

If you don't need them anymore, you now can drop that stash:

git stash drop

If you don't want to stash changes that you already staged - e.g. with git add - then add the option --keep-index. Note however, that this will still prevent merging if those staged changes collide with the ones from upstream.

If you want to overwrite only specific parts of your local changes, there are two possibilities:

Commit everything you don't want to overwrite and use the method above for the rest.
Use git checkout path/to/file/to/revert for the changes you wish to overwrite. Make sure that file is not staged via git reset HEAD path/to/file/to/revert.

What is the difference between a hash join and a merge join (Oracle RDBMS )?

A "sort merge" join is performed by sorting the two data sets to be joined according to the join keys and then merging them together. The merge is very cheap, but the sort can be prohibitively expensive especially if the sort spills to disk. The cost of the sort can be lowered if one of the data sets can be accessed in sorted order via an index, although accessing a high proportion of blocks of a table via an index scan can also be very expensive in comparison to a full table scan.

A hash join is performed by hashing one data set into memory based on join columns and reading the other one and probing the hash table for matches. The hash join is very low cost when the hash table can be held entirely in memory, with the total cost amounting to very little more than the cost of reading the data sets. The cost rises if the hash table has to be spilled to disk in a one-pass sort, and rises considerably for a multipass sort.

(In pre-10g, outer joins from a large to a small table were problematic performance-wise, as the optimiser could not resolve the need to access the smaller table first for a hash join, but the larger table first for an outer join. Consequently hash joins were not available in this situation).

The cost of a hash join can be reduced by partitioning both tables on the join key(s). This allows the optimiser to infer that rows from a partition in one table will only find a match in a particular partition of the other table, and for tables having n partitions the hash join is executed as n independent hash joins. This has the following effects:

The size of each hash table is reduced, hence reducing the maximum amount of memory required and potentially removing the need for the operation to require temporary disk space.
For parallel query operations the amount of inter-process messaging is vastly reduced, reducing CPU usage and improving performance, as each hash join can be performed by one pair of PQ processes.
For non-parallel query operations the memory requirement is reduced by a factor of n, and the first rows are projected from the query earlier.

You should note that hash joins can only be used for equi-joins, but merge joins are more flexible.

In general, if you are joining large amounts of data in an equi-join then a hash join is going to be a better bet.

That's right, if you're on a mac(unix) you won't see .git in finder(the file browser). You can follow the directions above to delete and there are git commands that allow you to delete files as well(they are sometimes difficult to work with and learn, for example: on making a 'git rm -r ' command you might be prompted with a .git/ not found. Here is the git command specs:

In Python 2, It might be possible to create a custom Mapping that qualifies as a Mapping but doesn't contain iteritems, in which case this will fail. So for custom Mappings, inherit from collections.Mapping explicitly just in case.

In Python 3, there are a number of improvements to be made. As of Python 3.3, abstract base classes live in collections.abc. How do I remove objects from a JavaScript associative array?

Objects in JavaScript can be thought of as associative arrays, mapping keys (properties) to values.

To remove a property from an object in JavaScript you use the delete operator:

Note that when delete is applied to an index property of an Array, you will create a sparsely populated array (ie. an array with a missing index).

When working with instances of Array, if you do not want to create a sparsely populated array - and you usually don't - then you should use Array#splice or Array#pop.

Note that the delete operator in JavaScript does not directly free memory. Its purpose is to remove properties from objects. Of course, if a property being deleted holds the only remaining reference to an object o, then o will subsequently be garbage collected in the normal way.

Using the delete operator can affect JavaScript engines' ability to optimise code.

Facebook has changed how the sharer.php works, as Ibrahim Faour replies to the bug filed with Facebook.

The sharer will no longer accept custom parameters and facebook will pull the information that is being displayed in the preview the same way that it would appear on facebook as a post, from the url OG meta tags.

You have 2 options to fix this...

Remove previous container using that name, with the command docker rm $(docker ps -aq --filter name=myContainerName)

Rename current container to a different name i.e change this portion --name registry-v1 to something like --name myAnotherContainerName

You are getting this error because that container name ( i.e registry-v1) was used by another container in the past...even though that container may have exited i.e (currently not in use).

Possible heap pollution via varargs parameter

Heap pollution is a technical term. It refers to references which have a type that is not a supertype of the object they point to.

List<A> listOfAs = new ArrayList<>();
List<B> listOfBs = (List<B>)(Object)listOfAs; // points to a list of As

This can lead to "unexplainable" ClassCastExceptions.

// if the heap never gets polluted, this should never throw a CCE
B b = listOfBs.get(0);

@SafeVarargs does not prevent this at all. However, there are methods which provably will not pollute the heap, the compiler just can't prove it. Previously, callers of such APIs would get annoying warnings that were completely pointless but had to be suppressed at every call site. Now the API author can suppress it once at the declaration site.

However, if the method actually is not safe, users will no longer be warned.

You are making an ajax request which is asynchronous therefore your console log of the list length occurs before the ajax request has completed.

The easiest way to do this would be to use a filter.

You can either filter for any cells in column A that don't have a "-" and copy / paste, or (my more preferred method) filter for all cells that do have a "-" and then select all and delete - Once you remove the filter, you're left with what you need.

To add to the comparison: (burst)read/write-performance on EFS depends on gathered credits. Gathering of credits depends on the amount of data you store on it. More date -> more credits. That means that when you only need a few GB of storage which is read or written often you will run out of credits very soon and througphput drops to about 50kb/s. The only way to fix this (in my case) was to add large dummy files to increase the rate credits are earned. However more storage -> more cost.

The TRUNCATE statement was my first problem, glad to find the solution here. But I was using SSIS and trying to load data from another database, and it failed with the same error on any table that used IDENTITY to create an auto-incrementing ID. If I was scripting it myself I'd first need to use the command SET IDENTITY_INSERT tablename ON, and then SET IDENTITY_INSERT tablename OFF when the table update was done. But this requires ALTER permissions on the table, which I do not have. Hence the error message in SSIS on the table load (even though the previous step had just deleted all the data out of the table.)

When should I manually create a destructor?

Almost never.

Typically one only creates a destructor when your class is holding on to some expensive unmanaged resource that must be cleaned up when the object goes away. It is better to use the disposable pattern to ensure that the resource is cleaned up. A destructor is then essentially an assurance that if the consumer of your object forgets to dispose it, the resource still gets cleaned up eventually. (Maybe.)

If you make a destructor be extremely careful and understand how the garbage collector works. Destructors are really weird:

They don't run on your thread; they run on their own thread. Don't cause deadlocks!
An unhandled exception thrown from a destructor is bad news. It's on its own thread; who is going to catch it?
A destructor may be called on an object after the constructor starts but before the constructor finishes. A properly written destructor will not rely on invariants established in the constructor.
A destructor can "resurrect" an object, making a dead object alive again. That's really weird. Don't do it.
A destructor might never run; you can't rely on the object ever being scheduled for finalization. It probably will be, but that's not a guarantee.

Almost nothing that is normally true is true in a destructor. Be really, really careful. Writing a correct destructor is very difficult.

When have you needed to create a destructor?

When testing the part of the compiler that handles destructors. I've never needed to do so in production code. I seldom write objects that manipulate unmanaged resources.

Getting "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure" when SMTP server has a valid certificate

The answer I have finally found is that the SMTP service on the server is not using the same certificate as https.

The diagnostic steps I had read here make the assumption they use the same certificate and every time I've tried this in the past they have done and the diagnostic steps are exactly what I've done to solve the problem several times.

In this case those steps didn't work because the certificates in use were different, and the possibility of this is something I had never come across.

The solution is either to export the actual certificate from the server and then install it as a trusted certificate on my machine, or to get a different valid/trusted certificate for the SMTP service on the server. That is currently with our IT department who administer the servers to decide which they want to do.

Here's a funny answer.

You can declare a final one-element array and change the elements of the array all you want apparently. I'm sure it breaks the very reason why this compiler rule was implemented in the first place but it's handy when you're in a time-bind as I was today.

I actually can't claim credit for this one. It was IntelliJ's recommendation! Feels a bit hacky. But doesn't seem as bad as a global variable so I thought it worth mentioning here. It's just one solution to the problem. Not necessarily the best one.

SO did you got any error after running './configure' ? Maybe something about lacking tclConfig.sh. If so, instead of running './configure', you have to search for the tclConfigure.sh first and then put it in the command, in my case, its located in /usr/lib/. And then run: './configure ----with-tcl=/usr/lib --with-tclinclude=/usr/include'

Why catch and rethrow an exception in C#?

Sorry, but many examples as "improved design" still smell horribly or can be extremely misleading. Having try { } catch { log; throw } is just utterly pointless. Exception logging should be done in central place inside the application. exceptions bubble up the stacktrace anyway, why not log them somewhere up and close to the borders of the system?

Caution should be used when you serialize your context (i.e. DTO in one given example) just into the log message. It can easily contain sensitive information one might not want to reach the hands of all the people who can access the log files. And if you don't add any new information to the exception, I really don't see the point of exception wrapping. Good old Java has some point for that, it requires caller to know what kind of exceptions one should expect then calling the code. Since you don't have this in .NET, wrapping doesn't do any good on at least 80% of the cases I've seen.

For Linux the correct command is:

In general, libraries should follow sources and objects on command line, and -lpthread is not an "option", it's a library specification. On a system with only libpthread.a installed,

This totally depends on what you want to return and how you would use it? If you want to return only status of the thread (say whether the thread completed what it intended to do) then just use pthread_exit or use a return statement to return the value from the thread function.

But, if you want some more information which will be used for further processing then you can use global data structure. But, in that case you need to handle concurrency issues by using appropriate synchronization primitives. Or you can allocate some dynamic memory (preferrably for the structure in which you want to store the data) and send it via pthread_exit and once the thread joins, you update it in another global structure. In this way only the one main thread will update the global structure and concurrency issues are resolved. But, you need to make sure to free all the memory allocated by different threads.

You can do it by specifying alternating class names on the rows. I prefer using row0 and row1, which means you can easily add them in, if the list is being built programmatically:

Service will not start: error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly

A: No. They cannot. Containers are using the underlying Operating System resources and drivers, so Windows containers can run on Windows only, and Linux containers can run on Linux only.

Q: But what about Docker for Windows? Or other VM-based solutions?

A: Docker for Windows allows you to simulate running Linux containers on Windows, but under the hood a Linux VM is created, so still Linux containers are running on Linux, and Windows containers are running on Windows.

Q: So, what should I do with a .Net Framework 462 app, if I would like to run in a container?

A: It depends. Following several recommendations:

If it is possible - move to .Net Core. Since .Net Core brings support to most major features of .Net Framework, and .Net Framework 4.8 will be the last version of .Net framework
If you cannot migrate to .Net Core - As @Sebastian mentioned - you can convert your libraries to .Net Standard, and have 2 versions of app - one on .Net Framework 4.6.2, and one on .Net Core - it is not always obvious, Visual Studio supports it pretty well (with multi-targeting), but some dependencies can require extra care.
(Less recommended) In some cases, you can run windows containers. Windows containers are becoming more and more mature, with better support in platforms like Kubernetes. But to be able to run .Net Framework code, you still need to run on base image of "Server Core", which occupies about 1.4 GB. In same rare cases, you can migrate your code to .Net Core, but still run on Windows Nano servers, with an image size of 95 MB.

Original answer in general is right, BUT several months ago, docker added experimental feature LCOW (official github repository).

Doesn’t Docker for Windows already run Linux containers? That’s right. Docker for Windows can run Linux or Windows containers, with support for Linux containers via a Hyper-V Moby Linux VM (as of Docker for Windows 17.10 this VM is based on LinuxKit).

The setup for running Linux containers with LCOW is a lot simpler than the previous architecture where a Hyper-V Linux VM runs a Linux Docker daemon, along with all your containers. With LCOW, the Docker daemon runs as a Windows process (same as when running Docker Windows containers), and every time you start a Linux container Docker launches a minimal Hyper-V hypervisor running a VM with a Linux kernel, runc and the container processes running on top.

Because there’s only one Docker daemon, and because that daemon now runs on Windows, it will soon be possible to run Windows and Linux Docker containers side-by-side, in the same networking namespace. As mentioned in comments by @PanagiotisKanavos, containers are not for virtualization, and they are using the resources of the host machine. As a result, for now windows container cannot run "as-is" on linux machine.

But - you can do it by using VM - as it works on windows. You can install windows VM on your linux host, which will allow to run windows containers.

With it, IMHO run it this way on PROD environment will not be the best idea.

The syntax for creating a new table is

This will create a new table named new_table with whatever columns are in old_table and copy the data over. It will not replicate the constraints on the table, it won't replicate the storage attributes, and it won't replicate any triggers defined on the table.

You cannot expect to parse a date with a SimpleDateFormat that is set up with a different format.

To parse your "Thu Jun 18 20:56:02 EDT 2009" date string you need a SimpleDateFormat like this (roughly):

The origin of this error lies in the fact that each and every promise is expected to handle promise rejection i.e. have a .catch(...) . you can avoid the same by adding .catch(...) to a promise in the code as given below.

Using CASCADE means actually telling Django to delete the referenced record. In the poll app example below: When a 'Question' gets deleted it will also delete the Choices this Question has.

Accepted answer works like a charm but if the object has a list of objects it won't work as expected so here is my solution after some digging.

Following this thread advice, here is how I've done.

Frontend: stringify your object than encode it in base64 for submission.
Backend: decode base64 string then convert the string json into desired object.

It isn't the best for debugging your API with postman but it is working as expected for me.

I created a small utility method for changing Spinner selection without notifying the user:

I had a similar issue with generated strongly typed datasets, the full error message was:

Could not find an implementation of the query pattern for source type 'MyApp.InvcHeadDataTable'. 'Where' not found. Consider explicitly specifying the type of the range variable 'row'.

From my code:

This is a way to retrieve the body "AND" the status code and format it to a proper json or whatever format works for you. Some may argue it's the incorrect use of write format option but this works for me when I need both body and status code in my scripts to check status code and relay back the responses from server.

run the code above and you should get back a json in this format:

with the -w write format option, since stderr is printed first, you can format your output with the var http_code and place the body of the response in a value (body) and follow up the enclosing using var stdout. Then redirect your stderr output to stdout and you'll be able to combine both http_code and response body into a neat output

step3: save and close the file. Check if the environment variables are set by using echo command........ Eg echo $PATH

You are using an immutable list. The operations on the List return a new List. The old List remains unchanged. This can be very useful if another class / method holds a reference to the original collection and is relying on it remaining unchanged. You can either use different named vals as in

val myList1 = 1.0 :: 5.5 :: Nil 
val myList2 = 2.2 :: 3.7 :: mylist1

or use a var as in

var myList = 1.0 :: 5.5 :: Nil 
myList :::= List(2.2, 3.7)

This is equivalent syntax for:

myList = myList.:::(List(2.2, 3.7))

Or you could use one of the mutable collections such as

val myList = scala.collection.mutable.MutableList(1.0, 5.5)
myList.++=(List(2.2, 3.7))

Not to be confused with the following that does not modify the original mutable List, but returns a new value:

myList.++:(List(2.2, 3.7))

However you should only use mutable collections in performance critical code. Immutable collections are much easier to reason about and use. One big advantage is that immutable List and scala.collection.immutable.Vector are Covariant. Don't worry if that doesn't mean anything to you yet. The advantage of it is you can use it without fully understanding it. Hence the collection you were using by default is actually scala.collection.immutable.List its just imported for you automatically.

I tend to use List as my default collection. From 2.12.6 Seq defaults to immutable Seq prior to this it defaulted to immutable.
