After enabling mcrypt by sudo phpenmod mcrypt, it gets available.

After two dozens of comments to understand the situation, it was found that the libhdf5.so.7 was actually a symlink (with several levels of indirection) to a file that was not shared between the queued processes and the interactive processes. This means even though the symlink itself lies on a shared filesystem, the contents of the file do not and as a result the process was seeing different versions of the library.

For future reference: other than checking LD_LIBRARY_PATH, it's always a good idea to check a library with nm -D to see if the symbols actually exist. In this case it was found that they do exist in interactive mode but not when run in the queue. A quick md5sum revealed that the files were actually different.

I had this problem with my own configure.ac, but in this case (and for the benefit of anyone here from Google) it was because I had accidentally quoted the AC_MSG_ERROR so it was being treated as a string:

Once I removed the square brackets around the AC_MSG_ERROR macro, it worked:

Those comments saying you should install pkg-config or some package are missing the point. The AC_MSG_ERROR is supposed to work and give you a helpful message like "You need to install package XYZ", but because of some problem, the AC_MSG_ERROR doesn't work. Installing package XYZ will certainly make the error go away, but only because once the package is there, there is no longer any need to print an error message!

So installing pkg-config or a particular package just bypasses the problem, it doesn't actually fix it.

jQuery rotate/transform

I came up with some kind of solution to the problem. It involves jquery and css. This works like toggle but instead of toggling the display of elements it just changes its properties upon alternate clicks. Java doesn't have associative arrays like PHP does.

There are various solutions for what you are doing, such as using a Map, but it depends on how you want to look up the information. You can easily write a class that holds all your information and store instances of them in an ArrayList.

bytea being a "normal" column also means the value being read completely into memory when you fetch it. Blobs, in contrast, you can stream into stdout. That helps in reducing the server memory footprint. Especially, when you store 4-6 MPix images.

No problem with backing up blobs. pg_dump provides "-b" option to include the large objects into the backup.

So, I prefer using pg_lo_*, you may guess.

I'd say the opposite :). When images are not the only data you store, don't store them on the file system unless you absolutely have to. It's such a benefit to be always sure about your data consistency, and to have the data "in one piece" (the DB). BTW, PostgreSQL is great in preserving consistency.

However, true, reality is often too performance-demanding ;-), and it pushes you to serve the binary files from the file system. But even then I tend to use the DB as the "master" storage for binaries, with all the other relations consistently linked, while providing some file system-based caching mechanism for performance optimization.

This should do the trick:

As others point out, this is almost never what you want, even though it's whats asked in the question. A more safe solution is to delete the tables depending on bericht before deleting bericht. See CloudyMarble answer on how to do that. I use bash and the method in my post to drop all tables in a database when I don't want to or can't delete and recreate the database itself.

The #1217 error happens when other tables has foreign key constraints to the table you are trying to delete and you are using the InnoDB database engine. This solution temporarily disables checking the restraints and then re-enables them. Read the documentation for more. Be sure to delete foreign key restraints and fields in tables depending on bericht, otherwise you might leave your database in a broken state.

I had the same issue, multiple data type values in single column, package load only numeric values. Remains all it updated as null.

Solution

To fix this changing the excel data type is one of the solution. In Excel Copy the column data and paste in different file. Delete that column and insert new column as Text datatype and paste that copied data in new column.

Now in ssis package delete and recreate the Excel source and destination table change the column data type as varchar.

This will work.

All modern browsers (tested with Chrome 4, Firefox 3.5, IE8, Opera 10 and Safari 4) will always request a favicon.ico unless you've specified a shortcut icon via <link>. So if you don't explicitly specify one, it's best to always have a favicon.ico file, to avoid a 404. Yahoo! suggests you make it small and cacheable.

And you don't have to go for a PNG just for the alpha transparency either. ICO files support alpha transparency just fine (i.e. 32-bit color), though hardly any tools allow you to create them. docker run -dit ubuntu

you are basically running the container in background in interactive mode.

When you attach and exit the container by CTRL+D (most common way to do it), you stop the container because you just killed the main process which you started your container with the above command.

Making advantage of an already running container, I would just fork another process of bash and get a pseudo TTY by running:

docker exec -it <container ID> /bin/bash

I needed to migrate this code to Windows 7 and beyond. My solution turned out to be:

/grant:r - Grants specified user access rights. Permissions replace previously granted explicit permissions. Without :r, permissions are added to any previously granted explicit permissions

(OI)(CI) - This folder, subfolders, and files.

F - Full Access

/t - Traverse all subfolders to match files/directories.

What this gave me was a folder on this server that the user could only see that folder and created subfolders, that they could read and write files. As well as create new folders.

Div not expanding even with content inside

Perhaps CTRL+C only terminates the parent process while npm start runs with other child processes. Quite unsure why you have to hit that extra key though prior to CTRL+ C, but it works better than having to close the command line and start again.

DateTime does not know its timezone offset. There is no built-in method to return the offset or the timezone name (e.g. EAT, CEST, EST etc).

Like suggested by others, you can convert your date to UTC:

I’m posting this answer since I struggled with this myself and Chrome updated their security with requiring Subject Alternative Name which a lot of posts do not have as it was not required when they were posted as an answer. I’m assuming that WAMP is already installed.

STEP 1

Download OpenSSL Light and install

**STEP 2 (Optional)**

Although this part is optional, but it makes it easier later to execute commands. If you skip this step, you’ll have to provide full path to openssl.exe where you will execute the command. If you prefer to set it then update the openssl.exe path in Environment Variables.

Environment Variables -> System Variables -> Path -> Edit -> New -> c:\Program Files\OpenSSL-Win64\bin

**STEP 3**

Create a folder named “key” in the c:/wamp64/bin/apache/apache2.4.27(your version number)/conf/ directory.

Create configuration file for your CA MyCompanyCA.cnf with contents (you can change it to your needs):

Control Panel -> Manage User Certificates -> Trusted Root Certification Authorities -> Certificates

To install MyCompanyLocalhost.cer just double click it.

**STEP 6**

Open c:/wamp64/bin/apache/apache2.4.27(your version number)/conf/httpd.conf and un-comment (remove the #) the following 3 lines:

Go to Applications and identify Xcode and drag it to trash.

Empty trash to permenently delete Xcode.

After completing the above steps you can easly install xcode from App Store, which will install the current latest version of xcode

NotFoundMvc automatically installs itself during web application start-up. It handles all the different ways a 404 HttpException is usually thrown by ASP.NET MVC. This includes a missing controller, action and route.

Step by Step Installation Guide :

1 - Right click on your Project and Select Manage Nuget Packages...

3 - Once the installation has be completed, two files will be added to your project. As shown in the screenshots below.

4 - Open the newly added NotFound.cshtml present at Views/Shared and modify it at your will. Now run the application and type in an incorrect url, and you will be greeted with a User friendly 404 page.

How to find memory leak in a C++ code/project?

You can use some techniques in your code to detect memory leak. The most common and most easy way to detect is, define a macro say, DEBUG_NEW and use it, along with predefined macros like __FILE__ and __LINE__ to locate the memory leak in your code. These predefined macros tell you the file and line number of memory leaks.

DEBUG_NEW is just a MACRO which is usually defined as:

So that wherever you use new, it also can keep track of the file and line number which could be used to locate memory leak in your program.

The other answers will work for most strings, but you can end up unescaping an already escaped double quote, which is probably not what you want.

To work correctly, you are going to need to escape all backslashes and then escape all double quotes, like this:

I ran into this issue with Python 3.6 and Python 3.7. The top answer (running pip install --upgrade pip enum34) did not solve the problem.

I don't know why, but the reason why this error happen is because enum.py was missing from .venv/myvenv/lib/python3.7/.

But the file was in /usr/lib/python3.7/.

For me the error was:

and the fix was opening the script in a hex editor and removing the first 3 characters from the file. The file was starting with an UTF-8 BOM and it seems that Rscript can't read that.

I had similar issues with the threads being started in Spring bean. These threads were not closing properly after i called executor.shutdownNow() in @PreDestroy method. So the solution for me was to let the thread finsih with IO already started and start no more IO, once @PreDestroy was called. And here is the @PreDestroy method. For my application the wait for 1 second was acceptable.

I think the simplest solution is re-style the checkbox as some users suggest. The CSS below is working for me, only requires a few lines of CSS, and answers the OP question:

The COLLATE {collation_name} clause of the CREATE DATABASE statement specifies the default Collation of the Database, and not the Server; Database-level and Server-level default Collations control different things.

ASCII is an encoding which is 8-bit (for common usage; technically "ASCII" is 7-bit with character values 0 - 127, and "ASCII Extended" is 8-bit with character values 0 - 255). This group is the same across cultures.
The Code Page is the "extended" part of Extended ASCII, and controls which characters are used for values 128 - 255. This group varies between each culture.
Latin1 does not mean "ASCII" since standard ASCII only covers values 0 - 127, and all code pages (that can be represented in SQL Server, and even NVARCHAR) map those same 128 values to the same characters.

If "What does `COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS` do?" means "What does this particular collation do?", then:

Because the name start with SQL_, this is a SQL Server collation, not a Windows collation. These are definitely obsolete, even if not officially deprecated, and are mainly for pre-SQL Server 2000 compatibility. Although, quite unfortunately SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS is very common due to it being the default when installing on an OS using US English as its language. These collations should be avoided if at all possible.

Windows collations (those with names not starting with SQL_) are newer, more functional, have consistent sorting between VARCHAR and NVARCHAR for the same values, and are being updated with additional / corrected sort weights and uppercase/lowercase mappings. These collations also don't have the potential performance problem that the SQL Server collations have: Impact on Indexes When Mixing VARCHAR and NVARCHAR Types.
Latin1_General is the culture / locale.
- For NCHAR, NVARCHAR, and NTEXT data this determines the linguistic rules used for sorting and comparison.
- For CHAR, VARCHAR, and TEXT data (columns, literals, and variables) this determines the:
  - linguistic rules used for sorting and comparison.
  - code page used to encode the characters. For example, Latin1_General collations use code page 1252, Hebrew collations use code page 1255, and so on.
CP{code_page} or {version}
- For SQL Server collations: CP{code_page}, is the 8-bit code page that determines what characters map to values 128 - 255. While there are four code pages for Double-Byte Character Sets (DBCS) that can use 2-byte combinations to create more than 256 characters, these are not available for the SQL Server collations.
- For Windows collations: {version}, while not present in all collation names, refers to the SQL Server version in which the collation was introduced (for the most part). Windows collations with no version number in the name are version 80 (meaning SQL Server 2000 as that is version 8.0). Not all versions of SQL Server come with new collations, so there are gaps in the version numbers. There are some that are 90 (for SQL Server 2005, which is version 9.0), most are 100 (for SQL Server 2008, version 10.0), and a small set has 140 (for SQL Server 2017, version 14.0).
  
  I said "for the most part" because the collations ending in _SC were introduced in SQL Server 2012 (version 11.0), but the underlying data wasn't new, they merely added support for supplementary characters for the built-in functions. So, those endings exist for version 90 and 100 collations, but only starting in SQL Server 2012.
Next you have the sensitivities, that can be in any combination of the following, but always specified in this order:
- CS = case-sensitive or CI = case-insensitive
- AS = accent-sensitive or AI = accent-insensitive
- KS = Kana type-sensitive or missing = Kana type-insensitive
- WS = width-sensitive or missing = width insensitive
- VSS = variation selector sensitive (only available in the version 140 collations) or missing = variation selector insensitive
Optional last piece:
- _SC at the end means "Supplementary Character support". The "support" only affects how the built-in functions interpret surrogate pairs (which are how supplementary characters are encoded in UTF-16). Without _SC at the end (or _140_ in the middle), built-in functions don't see a single supplementary character, but instead see two meaningless code points that make up the surrogate pair. This ending can be added to any non-binary, version 90 or 100 collation.
- _BIN or _BIN2 at the end means "binary" sorting and comparison. Data is still stored the same, but there are no linguistic rules. This ending is never combined with any of the 5 sensitivities or _SC. _BIN is the older style, and _BIN2 is the newer, more accurate style. If using SQL Server 2005 or newer, use _BIN2. For details on the differences between _BIN and _BIN2, please see: Differences Between the Various Binary Collations (Cultures, Versions, and BIN vs BIN2).
- _UTF8 is a new option as of SQL Server 2019. It's an 8-bit encoding that allows for Unicode data to be stored in VARCHAR and CHAR datatypes (but not the deprecated TEXT datatype). This option can only be used on collations that support supplementary characters (i.e. version 90 or 100 collations with _SC in their name, and version 140 collations). There is also a single binary _UTF8 collation (_BIN2, not _BIN).
  
  PLEASE NOTE: UTF-8 was designed / created for compatibility with environments / code that are set up for 8-bit encodings yet want to support Unicode. Even though there are a few scenarios where UTF-8 can provide up to 50% space savings as compared to NVARCHAR, that is a side-effect and has a cost of a slight hit to performance in many / most operations. If you need this for compatibility, then the cost is acceptable. If you want this for space-savings, you had better test, and TEST AGAIN. Testing includes all functionality, and more than just a few rows of data. Be warned that UTF-8 collations work best when ALL columns, and the database itself, are using VARCHAR data (columns, variables, string literals) with a _UTF8 collation. This is the natural state for anyone using this for compatibility, but not for those hoping to use it for space-savings. Be careful when mixing VARCHAR data using a _UTF8 collation with either VARCHAR data using non-_UTF8 collations or NVARCHAR data, as you might experience odd behavior / data loss. Nullable DateTime conversion

Cast the null literal: (DateTime?)null or (Nullable<DateTime>)null.

You can also use default(DateTime?) or default(Nullable<DateTime>)

And, as other answers have noted, you can also apply the cast to the DateTime value rather than to the null literal.

EDIT (adapted from my comment to Prutswonder's answer):

The point is that the conditional operator does not consider the type of its assignment target, so it will only compile if there is an implicit conversion from the type of its second operand to the type of its third operand, or from the type of its third operand to the type of its second operand.

For example, this won't compile:

object o = b ? "Forty-two" : 42;

Casting either the second or third operand to object, however, fixes the problem, because there is an implicit conversion from int to object and also from string to object:

object o = b ? "Forty-two" : (object)42;

Why is "except: pass" a bad programming practice?

Simply put, if an exception or error is thrown, something's wrong. It may not be something very wrong, but creating, throwing, and catching errors and exceptions just for the sake of using goto statements is not a good idea, and it's rarely done. 99% of the time, there was a problem somewhere.

Problems need to be dealt with. Just like how it is in life, in programming, if you just leave problems alone and try to ignore them, they don't just go away on their own a lot of times; instead they get bigger and multiply. To prevent a problem from growing on you and striking again further down the road, you either 1) eliminate it and clean up the mess afterwards, or 2) contain it and clean up the mess afterwards.

Just ignoring exceptions and errors and leaving them be like that is a good way to experience memory leaks, outstanding database connections, needless locks on file permissions, etc.

On rare occasions, the problem is so miniscule, trivial, and - aside from needing a try...catch block - self-contained, that there really is just no mess to be cleaned up afterwards. These are the only occasions when this best practice doesn't necessarily apply. In my experience, this has generally meant that whatever the code is doing is basically petty and forgoable, and something like retry attempts or special messages are worth neither the complexity nor holding the thread up on.

At my company, the rule is to almost always do something in a catch block, and if you don't do anything, then you must always place a comment with a very good reason why not. You must never pass or leave an empty catch block when there is anything to be done.

NULL is never equal to NULL (as NULL is the absence of a value). NULL is also never not equal to NULL. The syntax noted above is ANSI SQL standard and the converse would be StartDate IS NOT NULL.

What is the problem with shadowing names defined in outer scopes?

There isn't any big deal in your above snippet, but imagine a function with a few more arguments and quite a few more lines of code. Then you decide to rename your data argument as yadda, but miss one of the places it is used in the function's body... Now data refers to the global, and you start having weird behaviour - where you would have a much more obvious NameError if you didn't have a global name data.

Also remember that in Python everything is an object (including modules, classes and functions), so there's no distinct namespaces for functions, modules or classes. Another scenario is that you import function foo at the top of your module, and use it somewhere in your function body. Then you add a new argument to your function and named it - bad luck - foo.

Finally, built-in functions and types also live in the same namespace and can be shadowed the same way.

None of this is much of a problem if you have short functions, good naming and a decent unit test coverage, but well, sometimes you have to maintain less than perfect code and being warned about such possible issues might help.

Which is faster: Stack allocation or Heap allocation

I think the lifetime is crucial, and whether the thing being allocated has to be constructed in a complex way. For example, in transaction-driven modeling, you usually have to fill in and pass in a transaction structure with a bunch of fields to operation functions. Look at the OSCI SystemC TLM-2.0 standard for an example.

Allocating these on the stack close to the call to the operation tends to cause enormous overhead, as the construction is expensive. The good way there is to allocate on the heap and reuse the transaction objects either by pooling or a simple policy like "this module only needs one transaction object ever".

This is many times faster than allocating the object on each operation call.

The reason is simply that the object has an expensive construction and a fairly long useful lifetime.

I would say: try both and see what works best in your case, because it can really depend on the behavior of your code.

I use java.net.URI#getRawPath(), e.g.

The value of fixed will be a+b%20c.html, which is what you want.

Post-processing the output of URLEncoder.encode() will obliterate any pluses that are supposed to be in the URI. For example

URLEncoder.encode("a+b c.html").replaceAll("\\+", "%20");

will give you a%20b%20c.html, which will be interpreted as a b c.html.

We open both files at once and because we are using with they will be automatically closed when we are done (or an exception occurs). Previously your output file was repeatedly openend inside your loop.

We are also processing the file line-by-line, rather than reading all of it into memory at once (which can be a problem when you deal with really big files).

Note that write() doesn't append a newline ('\n') so you'll have to do that yourself if you need it (I replaced your writelines() with write() as you are writing a single item, not a list of items).

When opening a file for rread, the 'r' is optional since it's the default mode.

The case is like :

 mysql connects will localhost when network is not up.
 mysql cannot connect when network is up.

You can try the following steps to diagnose and resolve the issue (my guess is that some other service is blocking port on which mysql is hosted):

Disconnect the network.
Stop mysql service (if windows, try from services.msc window)
Connect to network.
Try to start the mysql and see if it starts correctly.
Check for system logs anyways to be sure that there is no error in starting mysql service.
If all goes well try connecting.
If fails, try to do a telnet localhost 3306 and see what output it shows.
Try changing the port on which mysql is hosted, default 3306, you can change to some other port which is ununsed.

This should ideally resolve the issue you are facing.

What is Shelving in TFS?

One point that is missed in a lot of these discussions is how you revert back on the SAME machine on which you shelved your changes. Perhaps obvious to most, but wasn't to me. I believe you perform an Undo Pending Changes - is that right?

I understand the process to be as follows:

To shelve your current pending changes, right click the project, Shelve, add a shelve name
This will save (or Shelve) the changes to the server (no-one will see them)
You then do Undo Pending Changes to revert your code back to the last check-in point
You can then do what you need to do with the reverted code baseline
You can Unshelve the changes at any time (may require some merge confliction)

So, if you want to start some work which you may need to Shelve, make sure you check-in before you start, as the check-in point is where you'll return to when doing the Undo Pending Changes step above.
