Formally, True is a Python built-in constant of bool type.

You can use Boolean operations on bool types (at the interactive python prompt for example) and convert numbers into bool types:

As a hint of how Python stores bool types internally, you can cast bool types to integers and True will come out to be 1 and False 0:

The more important part of your question is "What is while True?" is 'what is True', and an important corollary: What is false?

First, for every language you are learning, learn what the language considers 'truthy' and 'falsey'. Python considers Truth slightly differently than Perl Truth for example. Other languages have slightly different concepts of true / false. Know what your language considers to be True and False for different operations and flow control to avoid many headaches later!

There are many algorithms where you want to process something until you find what you are looking for. Hence the infinite loop or indefinite loop. Each language tend to have its own idiom for these constructs. Here are common C infinite loops, which also work for Perl:

The while True: form is common in Python for indefinite loops with some way of breaking out of the loop. Learn Python flow control to understand how you break out of while True loops. Unlike most languages, for example, Python can have an else clause on a loop. There is an example in the last link.

This was not what I was expecting as a solution (though it is a legitimate use case). My requirement was to allow an existing buggy client (a mobile app which already released) to use alternate names.

The solution lies in providing a separate setter method like this:

You have to use RegExp:

When I'm concatenating strings, all slashes are gone.

If you have a backslash in your pattern to escape a special regex character, (like \(), you have to use two backslashes in the string (because \ is the escape character in a string): new RegExp('\\(') would be the same as /\(/.

So your patterns have to become:

As you can see, I have created FIVE groups which are each enclosed in parentheses.

I included the !* and *! on either side to make it clearer. Note that none of those characters are in the RegEx and therefore will not be produced in the results. Group(0) merely gives you the entire matched string (all of my search criteria in one single line). Group 1 stops right before the first space because the space character was not included in the search criteria. Groups 2 and 4 are simply the white space, which in this case is literally a space character, but could also be a tab or a line feed etc. Group 3 includes the space because I put it in the search criteria ... etc.

PostgreSQL is integrated in Server.app available through the App Store in Mac OS X v10.8 (Mountain Lion). That means that it is already configured, and you only need to launch it, and then create users and databases.

Tip: Do not start with defining $PGDATA and so on. Take file locations as is.

Problem

I encountered the below and couldn't change it. I also did not want to flatten the object temporarily. Nor did I want to use underscore / lodash, mainly for performance reasons and the fun to implement it myself.

Obstacles

Now, in the base solution uses bracket notation to compute the properties to sort for dynamically. Here, though, we would have to construct the bracket notation dynamically also, since you would expect some like People['Name.name'] would work - which doesn't.

Simply doing People['Name']['name'], on the other hand, is static and only allows you to go down the n-th level.

Solution

The main addition here will be to walk down the object tree and determine the value of the last leaf, you have to specify, as well as any intermediary leaf.

• rename your wampstack/php dir to wampstack/php_old
• copy new php dir to wampstack/

To add to @jarib's answer, I have made several extension methods which help eliminate the race condition.

Here is my setup:

I have a class Called "Driver.cs". It contains a static class full of extension methods for the driver and other useful static functions.

For elements I commonly need to retrieve, I create an extension method like the following:

The above code will call driver.SpecificElementToGet().Displayed until driver.SpecificElementToGet() throws no exceptions and .Displayed evaluates to true and 5 seconds have not passed. After 5 seconds, the test will fail.

On the flip side, to wait for an element to not be present, you can use the following function the same way:

It will read source file which may be of type .c or .cpp etc and translates that to .o file called as object file.

Linker:

It combines the several .o files which may be generated for multiple source files into an executable file (ELF format in GCC). There are two type of linking:

Loader:

A program which loads the executable file to the primary memory of the machine.

You didn't mention which version of Eclipse you are using, but others have already posted good answers for modern versions of Eclipse. Unfortunately one of my legacy projects requires Eclipse Europa; the old EGit project homepage states the following:

The accepted answer and even Boost's version did not work for me, so I wrote the following version:

There's some good answers here already, but I thought I might mention that pdftk might be useful for this task. Instead of producing one PDF directly, you could produce each PDF you need and then combine them together as a post-process with pdftk. This could even be done from within your program using a system() or ShellExecute() call.

Spring abstracts you from the very very very large list of http status code. That is the idea of the exceptions. Take a look into org.springframework.web.client.RestClientException hierarchy:

You have a bunch of classes to map the most common situations when dealing with http responses. The http codes list is really large, you won't want write code to handle each situation. But for example, take a look into the HttpClientErrorException sub-hierarchy. You have a single exception to map any 4xx kind of error. If you need to go deep, then you can. But with just catching HttpClientErrorException, you can handle any situation where bad data was provided to the service.

The DefaultResponseErrorHandler is really simple and solid. If the response status code is not from the family of 2xx, it just returns true for the hasError method.

If you are using qmake, the standard Qt build system, just add a line to the .pro file as documented in the qmake Variable Reference:

If you are using your own build system, you create a project by selecting "Import of Makefile-based project". This will create some files in your project directory including a file named <your project name>.includes. In that file, simply list the paths you want to include, one per line. Really all this does is tell Qt Creator where to look for files to index for auto completion. Your own build system will have to handle the include paths in its own way.

As explained in the Qt Creator Manual, <your path> must be an absolute path, but you can avoid OS-, host- or user-specific entries in your .pro file by using $$PWD which refers to the folder that contains your .pro file, e.g.

Removing workbench.xmi under workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench/ worked for me. It did not remove the existing projects.

Looks like the locale settings affect how the minus sign affects the order (see here). In order to get proper results I just did:

Basically it means "nothing" or "no type"

IIS 7 was difficult for figuring out why i was getting the 401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials... until i did this...

1. Open IIS and select the website that is causing the 401
2. Open the "Authentication" property under the "IIS" header
3. Click the "Windows Authentication" item and click "Providers"
4. For me the issue was that Negotiate was above NTLM. I assume that there was some kind of handshake going on behind the scenes, but i was never really authenticated. I moved the NTLM to the top most spot, and BAM that fixed it.

There's another way to test if it is your ASP.NET MVC start up or something else. Drop a normal HTML page on your site where you can hit it directly.
If the problem is related to ASP.NET MVC start up then the HTML page will render almost immediately even when the web app hasn't been started.
That's how I first recognized that the problem was in the ASP.NET MVC startup. I loaded an HTML page at any time and it would load blazing fast. Then, after hitting that HTML page I'd hit one of my ASP.NET MVC URLs and I'd get the Chrome message "Waiting for raddev.us..."

Another Test With Helpful Script

After that I wrote a LINQPad (check out http://linqpad.net for more) script that would hit my web site every 8 minutes (less than the time for the app to unload -- which should be 20 minutes) and I let it run for hours.

While the script was running I hit my web site and every time my site came up blazingly fast. This gives me a good idea that most likely the slowness I was experiencing was because of ASP.NET MVC startup times.

Get LinqPad and you can run the following script -- just change the URL to your own and let it run and you can test this easily. Good luck.

You should use System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement. It's much easier. Here is a nice code project article giving you an overview on all the classes in this DLL.

As you pointed out, your current approach doesn't find out the primary group. Actually, it's much worse than you thought. There are some more cases that it doesn't work, like the domain local group from another domain. You can check here for details. Here is how the code looks like if you switch to use System.DirectoryServices.AccountManagement. The following code can find the immediate groups this user assigned to, which includes the primary group.

But if you are creating a vector/range of numbers dynamically, then use seq() instead.

Let's say you are creating the vector/range of numbers from a to b with a:b, and you expect it to be an increasing series. Then, if b is evaluated to be less than a, you will get a decreasing sequence but you will never be notified about it, and your program will continue to execute with the wrong kind of input.

Yes, you should always call base class __init__ explicitly as a good coding practice. Forgetting to do this can cause subtle issues or run time errors. This is true even if __init__ doesn't take any parameters. This is unlike other languages where compiler would implicitly call base class constructor for you. Python doesn't do that!

In the parent POM, the main difference between the <dependencies> and <dependencyManagement> is this:

I assume when somebody lands here, he needs a foreign key to column in a table that contains non-unique keys.

The problem is, that if you have that problem, the database-schema is denormalized.

You're for example keeping rooms in a table, with a room-uid primary key, a DateFrom and a DateTo field, and another uid, here RM_ApertureID to keep track of the same room, and a soft-delete field, like RM_Status, where 99 means 'deleted', and <> 99 means 'active'.

So when you create the first room, you insert RM_UID and RM_ApertureID as the same value as RM_UID. Then, when you terminate the room to a date, and re-establish it with a new date range, RM_UID is newid(), and the RM_ApertureID from the previous entry becomes the new RM_ApertureID.

So, if that's the case, RM_ApertureID is a non-unique field, and so you can't set a foreign-key in another table.

And there is no way to set a foreign key to a non-unique column/index, e.g. in T_ZO_REM_AP_Raum_Reinigung (WHERE RM_UID is actually RM_ApertureID).
But to prohibit invalid values, you need to set a foreign key, otherwise, data-garbage is the result sooner rather than later...

Now what you can do in this case (short of rewritting the entire application) is inserting a CHECK-constraint, with a scalar function checking the presence of the key:

There are several ways to convert SVG to PNG using the Canvg library.

In my case, I needed to get the PNG blob from inline SVG.

The library documentation provides an example (see OffscreenCanvas example).

But this method does not work at the moment in Firefox. Yes, you can enable the gfx.offscreencanvas.enabled option in the settings. But will every user on the site do this? :)

However, there is another way that will work in Firefox too.

Your statement matches any string that contains a letter or digit anywhere, even if it contains other non-alphanumeric characters. Try this:

The reason why your full-width-div doesn't stretch 100% to your screen it's because of its parent "container" which occupies only about 80% of the screen.

I had the exact same error but with slightly different format and root-cause, and since this is the first Q&A that pops up when you search for "time data does not match format", I thought I'd leave the mistake I made for future viewers:

My initial code:

Where I used %I to parse the hours and %p to parse 'AM/PM'.

The error:

ValueError: time data '05-SEP-19 00.00.00.000000 AM' does not match format '%d-%b-%y %I.%M.%S.%f %p'

I was going through the datetime docs and finally realized in 12-hour format %I, there is no 00... once I changed 00.00.00 to 12.00.00, the problem was resolved.

So it's either 01-12 using %I with %p, or 00-23 using %H.

I tested each of the above methods for finding if any alphabets are contained in a given string and found out average processing time per string on a standard computer.

~250 ns for

Opposite to as alleged, importing re takes negligible time, and searching with re takes just about half time as compared to iterating isalpha() even for a relatively small string.
Hence for larger strings and greater counts, re would be significantly more efficient.

But converting string to a case and checking case (i.e. any of upper().isupper() or lower().islower() ) wins here. In every loop it is significantly faster than re.search() and it doesn't even require any additional imports.

You are more vulnerable to attacks if using eval: JSON is a subset of Javascript and json.parse just parses JSON whereas eval would leave the door open to all JS expressions.

You can use the max function and a key. Have a look at python max function using 'key' and lambda expression.

If this is just going to open up the user's client to send the email, why not let them compose it there as well. You lose the ability to track what they are sending, but if that's not important, then just collect the addresses and subject and pop up the client to let the user fill in the body.

Instead the function needs to be called once with all headers:

The reason you had ValueError is because int cannot convert an empty string to the integer. In this case you'd need to either check the content of the string before conversion, or except an error:

The reason you were getting a single value before with pix[1, 1] is because GIF pixels refer to one of the 256 values in the GIF color palette.

According to this answer, adding the -t flag will prevent the container from exiting when running in the background. You can then use docker exec -i -t <image> /bin/bash to get into a shell prompt.

A local variable is memory on the stack, that memory is not automatically invalidated when you go out of scope. From a Function deeper nested (higher on the stack in memory), its perfectly safe to access this memory.

Once the Function returns and ends though, things get dangerous. Usually the memory is not deleted or overwritten when you return, meaning the memory at that adresss is still containing your data - the pointer seems valid.

Until another function builds up the stack and overwrites it. This is why this can work for a while - and then suddenly cease to function after one particularly deeply nested set of functions, or a function with really huge sized or many local objects, reaches that stack-memory again.

It even can happen that you reach the same program part again, and overwrite your old local function variable with the new function variable. All this is very dangerous and should be heavily discouraged. Do not use pointers to local objects!

If you need something quick and dirty, you can just use PayPal's "Buy" buttons and drop them on your pages. These will take people off-site to PayPal where they can pay with a PayPal account or a credit card. This is free and super easy to implement.

ISNULL() determines what to do when you have a null value.

In this case my function returns a null value so I needed specify a 0 to be returned instead.

The <JRE_HOME> will depend on where you installed the Oracle Java and may differ between Linux distributions and installations.

An open source package which provides JavaFX 8 for Debian based systems such as Ubuntu is available. To install this package it is necessary to install both the Debian OpenJDK 8 package and the Debian OpenJFX package. I don't run Debian, so I'm not sure where the Debian OpenJFX package installs jfxrt.jar.

Use Oracle Java 8.

With Oracle Java 8, JavaFX is both included in the JDK and is on the default classpath. This means that JavaFX classes will automatically be found both by the compiler during the build and by the runtime when your users use your application. So using Oracle Java 8 is currently the best solution to your issue.

OpenJDK for Java 8 could include JavaFX (as JavaFX for Java 8 is now open source), but it will depend on the OpenJDK package assemblers as to whether they choose to include JavaFX 8 with their distributions. I hope they do, as it should help remove the confusion you experienced in your question and it also provides a great deal more functionality in OpenJDK.

Yes, but only the Oracle JDK.

The JavaFX version bundled with Java 7 was not completely open source so it could not be included in the OpenJDK (which is what you are using).

In you need to use Java 7 instead of Java 8, you could download the Oracle JDK for Java 7 and use that. Then JavaFX will be included with Java 7. Due to the way Oracle configured Java 7, JavaFX won't be on the classpath. If you use Java 7, you will need to add it to your classpath and use appropriate JavaFX packaging tools to allow your users to run your application. Some tools such as e(fx)clipse and NetBeans JavaFX project type will take care of classpath issues and packaging tasks for you.

You'll need to add a firewall rule to open inbound access to tcp:9090 to your instances. If you have more than the two instances, and you only want to open 9090 to those two, you'll want to make sure that there is a tag that those two instances share. You can add or update tags via the console or the command-line; I'd recommend using the GUI for that if needed because it handles the read-modify-write cycle with setinstancetags.

If you want to open port 9090 to all instances, you can create a firewall rule like:

esp is as you say it is, the top of the stack.

ebp is usually set to esp at the start of the function. Function parameters and local variables are accessed by adding and subtracting, respectively, a constant offset from ebp. All x86 calling conventions define ebp as being preserved across function calls. ebp itself actually points to the previous frame's base pointer, which enables stack walking in a debugger and viewing other frames local variables to work.

Most function prologs look something like:

This lets you define other maps that don't conflict (e.g., 'rcapitals' which does country lookup by capital city). But, either way, I think you'll find that this is all pretty terrible, performance-wise.

If you really want fast hash lookup, there's a terrible, terrible hack that actually works really well. It is this: write your key/values out to a temporary file, one-per line, then use 'grep "^$key"' to get them out, using pipes with cut or awk or sed or whatever to retrieve the values.

Like I said, it sounds terrible, and it sounds like it ought to be slow and do all sorts of unnecessary IO, but in practice it is very fast (disk cache is awesome, ain't it?), even for very large hash tables. You have to enforce key uniqueness yourself, etc. Even if you only have a few hundred entries, the output file/grep combo is going to be quite a bit faster - in my experience several times faster. It also eats less memory.

If you are converting a varchar to int make sure you do not have decimal places.

Long answer:

There is essentially no difference (in MySQL) between VARCHAR(3000) (or any other large limit) and TEXT. The former will truncate at 3000 characters; the latter will truncate at 65535 bytes. (I make a distinction between bytes and characters because a character can take multiple bytes.)

For smaller limits in VARCHAR, there are some advantages over TEXT.

• "smaller" means 191, 255, 512, 767, or 3072, etc, depending on version, context, and CHARACTER SET.
• INDEXes are limited in how big a column can be indexed. (767 or 3072 bytes; this is version and settings dependent)
• Intermediate tables created by complex SELECTs are handled in two different ways -- MEMORY (faster) or MyISAM (slower). When 'large' columns are involved, the slower technique is automatically picked. (Significant changes coming in version 8.0; so this bullet item is subject to change.)
• Related to the previous item, all TEXT datatypes (as opposed to VARCHAR) jump straight to MyISAM. That is, TINYTEXT is automatically worse for generated temp tables than the equivalent VARCHAR. (But this takes the discussion in a third direction!)
• VARBINARY is like VARCHAR; BLOB is like TEXT.

Rebuttal to other answers

The original question asked one thing (which datatype to use); the accepted answer answered something else (off-record storage). That answer is now out of date.

When this thread was started and answered, there were only two "row formats" in InnoDB. Soon afterwards, two more formats (DYNAMIC and COMPRESSED) were introduced.

The storage location for TEXT and VARCHAR() is based on size, not on name of datatype. For an updated discussion of on/off-record storage of large text/blob columns, see this .

I think the $() syntax is easier to read...

Today I created a jQuery plugin called jQuery Responsive Headlines that does exactly what you want: it adjusts the font size of a headline to fit inside its containing element (a div, the body or whatever). There are some nice options that you can set to customize the behavior of the plugin and I have also taken the precaution to add support for Ben Altmans Throttle/Debounce functionality to increase performance and ease the load on the browser/computer when the user resizes the window. In it's most simple use case the code would look like this:

$.browser was removed from jQuery starting with version 1.9. It is now available as a plugin. It's generally recommended to avoid browser detection, which is why it was removed.

Based on @Stoyan I came up with the following solution:

My problem was that main() was defined inside of a namespace by accident.

I have a ZTE Crescent phone (Orange San Francisco II).

When I connect the phone to the USB a disk shows up in OS X named 'ZTE_USB_Driver'.

Running adb devices displays no connected devices. But after I eject the 'ZTE_USB_Driver' disk from OS X, and run adb devices again the phone shows up as connected.

I had a similar issue but I was missing the (@Service or @Component) from the implementation of com.example.my.services.myUser.MyUserServiceImpl

The error is indeed fixed by inserting this with a type annotation as the first callback parameter. My attempt to do that was botched by simultaneously changing the callback into an arrow-function:

I am assuming that you are making a web app because you refer to Apache and Node. Quick answer - Is it possible - YES. Is it recommended - NO. Node bundles it's own webserver and most websites run on port 80. I am also assuming that there is currently no Apache plugin which is supported by Nodejs and I am not sure if creating a virtual host is the best way to implement this. These are the questions that should be answered by developers who maintain Nodejs like the good folks at Joyent.

Instead of ports, it would be better to evaluate Node's tech stack which is completely different from most others and which is why I love it but it also involves a few compromises that you should be aware of in advance.

Your example looks similar to a CMS or a sharing web app and there are hundreds of out of the box apps available that will run just fine on Apache. Even if you do not like any readymade solution, you could write a webapp in PHP / Java / Python or mix n match it with a couple of ready made apps and they are all designed and supported to run behind a single instance of Apache.

It's time to pause and think about what I just said.

Now you are ready to decide on which techstack you are going to use. If your website will never use any out of the thousands of ready made apps that require Apache, then go for Node otherwise you must first eliminate the assumptions that I have stated earlier.

In the end, your choice of techstack is way more important than any individual component.

I completely agree with @Straseus that it is relatively trivial to use node.js file system api for handling uploads and downloads but think more about what you want from your website in the long run and then choose your techstack.

Learning Node's framework is easier than learning other frameworks but it is not a panacea. With a slightly more effort (which may be a worthwhile endeavor in itself), you can learn any other framework too. We all learn from each other and you will be more productive if you are working as a small team than if you are working alone and your backend technical skills will also develop faster. Therefore, do not discount the skills of other members of your team so cheaply.

This post is about a year old and chances are that you have already decided but I hope that my rant will help the next person who is going through a similar decision.

GetStringData() returns early without awaiting MyAsyncMethod() and exceptions thrown in MyAsyncMethod() are dealt with in OnMyAsyncMethodFailed(Task task) and not in the try/catch around GetStringData()

Speaking of technical reasons, there are only a few, extremely specific and rarely used. Most likely you will never ever use them in your life.
Maybe I am too ignorant, but I never had an opportunity to use them things like

• non-blocking, asynchronous queries
• stored procedures returning multiple resultsets
• Encryption (SSL)
• Compression

If you need them - these are no doubt technical reasons to move away from mysql extension toward something more stylish and modern-looking.

Nevertheless, there are also some non-technical issues, which can make your experience a bit harder

• further use of these functions with modern PHP versions will raise deprecated-level notices. They simply can be turned off.
• in a distant future, they can be possibly removed from the default PHP build. Not a big deal too, as mydsql ext will be moved into PECL and every hoster will be happy to compile PHP with it, as they don't want to lose clients whose sites were working for decades.
• strong resistance from Stackoverflow community. ?verytime you mention these honest functions, you being told that they are under strict taboo.
• being an average PHP user, most likely your idea of using these functions is error-prone and wrong. Just because of all these numerous tutorials and manuals which teach you the wrong way. Not the functions themselves - I have to emphasize it - but the way they are used.

This latter issue is a problem.
But, in my opinion, the proposed solution is no better either.
It seems to me too idealistic a dream that all those PHP users will learn how to handle SQL queries properly at once. Most likely they would just change mysql_* to mysqli_* mechanically, leaving the approach the same. Especially because mysqli makes prepared statements usage incredible painful and troublesome.
Not to mention that native prepared statements aren't enough to protect from SQL injections, and neither mysqli nor PDO offers a solution.

So, instead of fighting this honest extension, I'd prefer to fight wrong practices and educate people in the right ways.

Also, there are some false or non-significant reasons, like

• Doesn't support Stored Procedures (we were using mysql_query("CALL my_proc"); for ages)
• Doesn't support Transactions (same as above)
• Doesn't support Multiple Statements (who need them?)
• Not under active development (so what? does it affect you in any practical way?)
• Lacks an OO interface (to create one is a matter of several hours)
• Doesn't support Prepared Statements or Parametrized Queries

The last one is an interesting point. Although mysql ext do not support native prepared statements, they aren't required for the safety. We can easily fake prepared statements using manually handled placeholders (just like PDO does):

But okay, if you don't like the red box in the manual, a problem of choice arises: mysqli or PDO?

Well, the answer would be as follows:

• If you understand the necessity of using a database abstraction layer and looking for an API to create one, mysqli is a very good choice, as it indeed supports many mysql-specific features.

• If, like vast majority of PHP folks, you are using raw API calls right in the application code (which is essentially wrong practice) - PDO is the only choice, as this extension pretends to be not just API but rather a semi-DAL, still incomplete but offers many important features, with two of them makes PDO critically distinguished from mysqli:

  • unlike mysqli, PDO can bind placeholders by value, which makes dynamically built queries feasible without several screens of quite messy code.
  • unlike mysqli, PDO can always return query result in a simple usual array, while mysqli can do it only on mysqlnd installations.

So, if you are an average PHP user and want to save yourself a ton of headaches when using native prepared statements, PDO - again - is the only choice.
However, PDO is not a silver bullet too and has its hardships.
So, I wrote solutions for all the common pitfalls and complex cases in the PDO tag wiki

Nevertheless, everyone talking about extensions always missing the 2 important facts about Mysqli and PDO:

1. Prepared statement isn't a silver bullet. There are dynamical identifiers which cannot be bound using prepared statements. There are dynamical queries with an unknown number of parameters which makes query building a difficult task.

2. Neither mysqli_* nor PDO functions should have appeared in the application code.
   There ought to be an abstraction layer between them and application code, which will do all the dirty job of binding, looping, error handling, etc. inside, making application code DRY and clean. Especially for the complex cases like dynamical query building.

So, just switching to PDO or mysqli is not enough. One has to use an ORM, or a query builder, or whatever database abstraction class instead of calling raw API functions in their code.
And contrary - if you have an abstraction layer between your application code and mysql API - it doesn't actually matter which engine is used. You can use mysql ext until it goes deprecated and then easily rewrite your abstraction class to another engine, having all the application code intact.

Here are some examples based on my safemysql class to show how such an abstraction class ought to be:

Compare this one single line with amount of code you will need with PDO.
Then compare with crazy amount of code you will need with raw Mysqli prepared statements. Note that error handling, profiling, query logging already built in and running.

Compare it with usual PDO inserts, when every single field name being repeated six to ten times - in all these numerous named placeholders, bindings, and query definitions.

Another example:

You can hardly find an example for PDO to handle such practical case.
And it will be too wordy and most likely unsafe.

So, once more - it is not just raw driver should be your concern but abstraction class, useful not only for silly examples from beginner's manual but to solve whatever real-life problems.

Unified Solution:

In order to work on all modern browsers, you will need two steps:

1. Add javascript:void(0); as src attribute for the iframe element. Otherwise the content will be overriden by the empty src on Firefox.

Another streaming command I've had good results with is piping the ffmpeg output to vlc to create a stream. If you don't have these installed, you can add them:

sudo apt install vlc ffmpeg

In the example I use an mpeg transport stream (ts) over http, instead of rtsp. I've tried both, but the http ts stream seems to work glitch-free on my playback devices.

I'm using a video capture HDMI>USB device that sets itself up on the video4linux2 driver as input. Piping through vlc must be CPU-friendly, because my old dual-core Pentium CPU is able to do the real-time encoding with no dropped frames. I've also had audio-sync issues with some of the other methods, where this method always has perfect audio-sync.

You will have to adjust the command for your device or file. If you're using a file as input, you won't need all that v4l2 and alsa stuff. Here's the ffmpeg|vlc command:

ZeroDivisionError: integer division or modulo by zero

The SSL only helps with sniffing attacks. If an attacker has access to your machine I will assume they can copy your secure cookie too.

At the very least, make sure old cookies lose their value after a while. Even a successful hijaking attack will be thwarted when the cookie stops working. If the user has a cookie from a session that logged in more than a month ago, make them reenter their password. Make sure that whenever a user clicks on your site's "log out" link, that the old session UUID can never be used again.

I'm not sure if this idea will work but here goes: Add a serial number into your session cookie, maybe a string like this:

SessionUUID, Serial Num, Current Date/Time

Encrypt this string and use it as your session cookie. Regularly change the serial num - maybe when the cookie is 5 minutes old and then reissue the cookie. You could even reissue it on every page view if you wanted to. On the server side, keep a record of the last serial num you've issued for that session. If someone ever sends a cookie with the wrong serial number it means that an attacker may be using a cookie they intercepted earlier so invalidate the session UUID and ask the user to reenter their password and then reissue a new cookie.

Remember that your user may have more than one computer so they may have more than one active session. Don't do something that forces them to log in again every time they switch between computers.

Java passes parameters by value and doesn't have any mechanism to allow pass-by-reference. That means that whenever a parameter is passed, its value is copied into the stack frame handling the call.

The term value as I use it here needs a little clarification. In Java we have two kinds of variables - primitives and objects. A value of a primitive is the primitive itself, and the value of an object is its reference (and not the state of the object being referenced). Therefore, any change to the value inside the method will only change the copy of the value in the stack, and will not be seen by the caller. For example, there isn't any way to implement a real swap method, that receives two references and swaps them (not their content!).

Navigate to /tomcat-root/conf folder. Within you will find the server.xml file.

Open the server.xml in your preferred editor. Search the below similar statement (not exactly same as below will differ)

Going to give the port number to 9090

Save the file and restart the server. Now the tomcat will listen at port 9090

Here is an applescript that will launch Chrome with the --allow-file-access-from-files switch turned on, for OSX/Chrome devs out there:

--save-dev saves semver spec into "devDependencies" array in your package descriptor file, --save saves it into "dependencies" instead.
