Dynamic analysis methods

Here I describe a few dynamic analysis methods.

Dynamic methods actually run the program to determine the call graph.

The opposite of dynamic methods are static methods, which try to determine it from the source alone without running the program.

Advantages of dynamic methods:

  • catches function pointers and virtual C++ calls. These are present in large numbers in any non-trivial software.

Disadvantages of dynamic methods:

  • you have to run the program, which might be slow, or require a setup that you don't have, e.g. cross-compilation
  • only functions that were actually called will show. E.g., some functions could be called or not depending on the command line arguments.

You are now left inside an awesome GUI program that contains a lot of interesting performance data.

On the bottom right, select the "Call graph" tab. This shows an interactive call graph that correlates to performance metrics in other windows as you click the functions.

To export the graph, right click it and select "Export Graph". The exported PNG looks like this:

From that we can see that:

  • the root node is _start, which is the actual ELF entry point, and contains glibc initialization boilerplate
  • f0, f1 and f2 are called as expected from one another
  • pointed is also shown, even though we called it with a function pointer. It might not have been called if we had passed a command line argument.
  • not_called is not shown because it didn't get called in the run, because we didn't pass an extra command line argument.

The cool thing about valgrind is that it does not require any special compilation options.

Therefore, you could use it even if you don't have the source code, only the executable.

valgrind manages to do that by running your code through a lightweight "virtual machine". This also makes execution extremely slow compared to native execution.

As can be seen on the graph, timing information about each function call is also obtained, and this can be used to profile the program, which is likely the original use case of this setup, not just to see call graphs: How can I profile C++ code running on Linux?

Tested on Ubuntu 18.04.

Likely the most efficient method besides specific hardware tracing support, but has the downside that you have to recompile the code.

The code you provided is also almost the same as the one provided in detailed description of QTextStream so I am pretty sure, that the problem is elsewhere :)

Also note, that the file is not called Data but Data.txt and should be created/located in the directory from which the program was run (not necessarily the one where the executable is located).

I've also found that if you had display:none, then programmatically changed it to be visible, you might also have to set

NOOB ERROR FIX: I'm new to Node.js and setup a webserver listening to port 8080. I ran into the EADDRINUSE error. I tried all the various 'kill -9 node' iterations and kept getting, 'node: no process found'

The problem was, I was calling http.listen(8080); TWICE in the same blob of code. So the first time it was actually working fine, and the second time it threw an error.

If you're getting a 'no process found' response when trying to kill the port, try checking to make sure you're only opening the port once.

I don't understand how other answers don't answer the original question about how to use PHP (not very consistent with the title).
PHP files or PHP code embedded in HTML code start always with the tag <?php and ends with ?>.

You can embed PHP code inside HTML like this (you have to save the file using .php extension to let PHP server recognize and process it, ie: index.php):

If the file you want to create is very big and cannot fit into memory you might use XmlWriter.

Watch out for certain headers such as HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR that appear to contain a single IP address. They may actually contain multiple addresses (a chain of proxies I assume).

They will appear to be comma delimited - and can be a lot longer than 45 characters total - so check before storing in DB.

Can I extend a class using more than 1 class in PHP?

As of PHP 5.4.0 there are "Traits" - you can use more traits in one class, so the final deciding point would be whether you want really an inheritance or you just need some "feature"(trait). Trait is, vaguely said, an already implemented interface that is meant to be just used.


Currently accepted answer by @Franck will work but it is not in fact multiple inheritance but a child instance of class defined out of scope, also there is the `__call()` shorthand - consider using just `$this->childInstance->method(args)` anywhere you need ExternalClass class method in "extended" class.

Exact answer

No you can't, respectively, not really, as manual of extends keyword says:

An extended class is always dependent on a single base class, that is, multiple inheritance is not supported.

Real answer

However as @adam suggested correctly this does NOT forbids you to use multiple hierarchal inheritance.

You CAN extend one class, with another and another with another and so on...

So pretty simple example on this would be:

Important note

As you might have noticed, you can only do multiple(2+) intehritance by hierarchy if you have control over all classes included in the process - that means, you can't apply this solution e.g. with built-in classes or with classes you simply can't edit - if you want to do that, you are left with the @Franck solution - child instances.

Here is the meat of the article (note that "Thierry’s method" is referring to Thierry Koblentz’s “clearfix reloaded”):

This “micro clearfix” generates pseudo-elements and sets their display to table. This creates an anonymous table-cell and a new block formatting context that means the :before pseudo-element prevents top-margin collapse. The :after pseudo-element is used to clear the floats. As a result, there is no need to hide any generated content and the total amount of code needed is reduced.

Including the :before selector is not necessary to clear the floats, but it prevents top-margins from collapsing in modern browsers. This has two benefits:

  • It ensures visual consistency with other float containment techniques that create a new block formatting context, e.g., overflow:hidden

  • It ensures visual consistency with IE 6/7 when zoom:1 is applied.

N.B.: There are circumstances in which IE 6/7 will not contain the bottom margins of floats within a new block formatting context. Further details can be found here: Better float containment in IE using CSS expressions.

The use of content:" " (note the space in the content string) avoids an Opera bug that creates space around clearfixed elements if the contenteditable attribute is also present somewhere in the HTML. Thanks to Sergio Cerrutti for spotting this fix. An alternative fix is to use font:0/0 a.

Legacy Firefox

Firefox < 3.5 will benefit from using Thierry’s method with the addition of visibility:hidden to hide the inserted character. This is because legacy versions of Firefox need content:"." to avoid extra space appearing between the body and its first child element, in certain circumstances (e.g., jsfiddle.net/necolas/K538S/.)

Alternative float-containment methods that create a new block formatting context, such as applying overflow:hidden or display:inline-block to the container element, will also avoid this behaviour in legacy versions of Firefox.

One way to get the list of distinct column names from the database is to use distinct() in conjunction with values().

In your case you can do the following to get the names of distinct categories:

What is Ruby's double-colon `::`?

:: Lets you access a constant, module, or class defined inside another class or module. It is used to provide namespaces so that method and class names don't conflict with other classes by different authors.

When you see ActiveRecord::Base in Rails it means that Rails has something like

A common use of :: is to access constants defined in modules e.g.

The :: operator does not allow you to bypass visibility of methods marked private or protected.

Why do I get the "Unhandled exception type IOException"?

Java has a feature called "checked exceptions". That means that there are certain kinds of exceptions, namely those that subclass Exception but not RuntimeException, such that if a method may throw them, it must list them in its throws declaration, say: void readData() throws IOException. IOException is one of those.

Thus, when you are calling a method that lists IOException in its throws declaration, you must either list it in your own throws declaration or catch it.

The rationale for the presence of checked exceptions is that for some kinds of exceptions, you must not ignore the fact that they may happen, because their happening is quite a regular situation, not a program error. So, the compiler helps you not to forget about the possibility of such an exception being raised and requires you to handle it in some way.

However, not all checked exception classes in Java standard library fit under this rationale, but that's a totally different topic.

It looks like you have accidentally declared DataType as an array rather than as a string.

Change line 3 to:

Since you want the trailing string from the input, you can use %n (number of characters consumed thus far) to get the position at which the trailing string starts. This avoids memory copies and buffer sizing issues, but comes at the cost that you may need to do them explicitly if you wanted a copy.

Basically every 5 seconds the js will post to a php file that will track the user and the users ip address. Active users are simply a database record that have an update to the database time stamp within 5 seconds. Old users stop updating to the database. The ip address is used just to ensure that a user is unique so 2 people on the site at the same time don't register as 1 user.

Probably not the most efficient solution but it does the job.

I got the errors to go away by installing the Windows Universal CRT SDK component, which adds support for legacy Windows SDKs. You can install this using the Visual Studio Installer:

If the problem still persists, you should change the Target SDK in the Visual Studio Project : check whether the Windows SDK version is 10.0.15063.0.

In : Project -> Properties -> General -> Windows SDK Version -> select 10.0.15063.0.

Then errno.h and other standard files will be found and it will compile.

Note that, computationally, factoring such columns won't help you much, and may actually slow down your program (albeit negligibly). Using a factor will require that all values are mapped to IDs behind the scenes, so any print of your data.frame requires a lookup on those levels -- an extra step which takes time.

Factors are great when storing strings which you don't want to store repeatedly, but would rather reference by their ID. Consider storing a more friendly name in such columns to fully benefit from factors.

  2. To stop or start mysql database (you rarely should need doing that 'by hand'), use proper init script with stop or start parameter, usually /etc/init.d/mysql stop. This, however depends on your linux distribution. Some new distributions encourage service mysql start style.

  3. You're logging in by using mysql sql shell.

  4. The error comes probably because double '-p' parameter. You can provide -ppassword or just -p and you'll be asked for password interactively. I had this error message with boot2docker on windows with the docker-oracle-xe-11g image (https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/wnameless/oracle-xe-11g/).

I would like to describe a very good example of why negative padding would be useful and awesome.

As all of us CSS developers know, vertically aligning a dynamically sizing div within another is a hassle, and for the most part, viewed as being impossible only using CSS. The incorporation of negative padding could change this.

Please review the following HTML:

With the following CSS, we would be able to vertically center the content of the inner div within the outer div:

Allow me to explain...

Absolutely positioning the inner div's top at 50% places the top edge of the inner div at the center of the outer div. Pretty simple. This is because percentage based positioning is relative to the inner dimensions of the parent element.

Percentage based padding, on the other hand, is based on the inner dimensions of the targeted element. So, by applying the property of padding-top: -50%; we have shifted the content of the inner div upward by a distance of 50% of the height of the inner div's content, therefore centering the inner div's content within the outer div and still allowing the height dimension of the inner div to be dynamic!

If you ask me OP, this would be the best use-case, and I think it should be implemented just so I can do this hack. lol. Or, they should just fix the functionality of vertical-align and give us a version of vertical-align that works on all elements.

How does Java resolve a relative path in new File()?

There is a concept of a working directory.
This directory is represented by a . (dot).
In relative paths, everything else is relative to it.

Simply put the . (the working directory) is where you run your program.
In some cases the working directory can be changed but in general this is
what the dot represents. I think this is C:\JavaForTesters\ in your case.

So test\..\test.txt means: the sub-directory test
in my working directory, then one level up, then the
file test.txt. This is basically the same as just test.txt.

In my Reactive form, I needed to mark a field as invalid if another field was checked. In ng version 7 I did the following:

Also - remember to unsubscribe from monitoring field changes!

There are a few workarounds that come to my mind which could help use an arbitrary C:\redirected\settings.xml and use the mvn command as usual happily ever after.

mvn alias

In a Unix shell (or on Cygwin) you can create

alias mvn='mvn --global-settings "C:\redirected\settings.xml"'

so when you're calling mvn blah blah from anywhere the config is "automatically" picked up.

mvn wrapper

Configure your environment so that mvn is resolved to a wrapper script when typed in the command line:

  • Remove your MVN_HOME/bin or M2_HOME/bin from your PATH so mvn is not resolved any more.

  • In that folder create an mvn.bat file with contents:

Suggestion/Rant

As a person in IT it's funny that you don't have access to your own home folder, for me this constitutes as incompetence from the company you're working for: this is equivalent of hiring someone to do software development, but not providing even the possibility to use anything other than notepad.exe or Microsoft Word to edit the source files. I'd suggest to contact your help desk or administrator and request write access at least to that particular file so that you can change the path of the local repository.

Disclaimer: None of these are tested for this particular use case, but I successfully used all of them previously for various other software.

I needed to do many very simple XML requests and after reading @Ivan Krechetov's comment about the speed hit of SOAP, I tried his code and discovered http_post_data() is not built into PHP 5.2. Not really wanting to install it, I tried cURL which is on all my servers. Although I do not know how fast cURL is compared to SOAP, it sure was easy to do what I needed. Below is a sample with cURL for anyone needing it.

In my case it was because the filename was containing spaces. Solved it thanks to this documentation (which is unrelated to the problem):

Count table rows

Because nobody mentioned it:

show table status;

lists all tables along with some additional information, including estimated rows for each table. This is what phpMyAdmin is using for its database page.

This information is available in MySQL 4, probably in MySQL 3.23 too - long time prior information schema database.

UPDATE:

Because there was down-vote, I want to clarify that the number shown is estimated for InnoDB and TokuDB and it is absolutely correct for MyISAM and Aria (Maria) storage engines.

Per the documentation:

The number of rows. Some storage engines, such as MyISAM, store the exact count. For other storage engines, such as InnoDB, this value is an approximation, and may vary from the actual value by as much as 40% to 50%. In such cases, use SELECT COUNT(*) to obtain an accurate count.

This also is fastest way to see the row count on MySQL, because query like:

select count(*) from table;

Doing full table scan what could be very expensive operation that might take hours on large high load server. It also increase disk I/O.

The same operation might block the table for inserts and updates - this happen only on exotic storage engines.

InnoDB and TokuDB are OK with table lock, but need full table scan.

That header file is not part of the C++ standard, is therefore non-portable, and should be avoided.

JSON string to JS object

the string in your question is not a valid json string. From json.org website:

JSON is built on two structures:

* A collection of name/value pairs. In various languages, this is

Basically a json string will always start with either { or [.

Then as @Andy E and @Cryo said you can parse the string with json2.js or some other libraries.

IMHO you should avoid eval because it will any javascript program, so you might incur in security issues.

tsconfig.json: Build:No inputs were found in config file

When using Visual Studio Code, building the project (i.e. pressing Ctrl + Shift + B), moves your .ts file into the .vscode folder (I don't know why it does this), then generates the TS18003 error. What I did was move my .ts file out of the .vscode folder, back into the root folder and build the project again.

The project built successfully!

Receive result from DialogFragment

As you can see here there is a very simple way to do that.

In your DialogFragment add an interface listener like:

For anyone trying to get this working using the Sysdeo Eclipse Tomcat plugin, try the following steps (I used Sysdeo Tomcat Plugin 3.3.0, Eclipse Kepler, and Tomcat 7.0.53 to construct these steps):

  1. Window --> Preferences --> Expand the Tomcat node in the tree --> JVM Settings
  2. Under "Append to JVM Parameters", click the "Add" button.
  3. In the "New Tomcat JVM parameter" popup, enter -Djava.util.logging.config.file="{TOMCAT_HOME}\conf\logging.properties", where {TOMCAT_HOME} is the path to your Tomcat directory (example: C:\Tomcat\apache-tomcat-7.0.53\conf\logging.properties). Click OK.
  4. Under "Append to JVM Parameters", click the "Add" button again.
  5. In the "New Tomcat JVM parameter" popup, enter -Djava.util.logging.manager=org.apache.juli.ClassLoaderLogManager. Click OK.
  6. Click OK in the Preferences window.
  7. Make the adjustments to the {TOMCAT_HOME}\conf\logging.properties file as specified in the question above.
  8. The next time you start Tomcat in Eclipse, you should see the scanned .jars listed in the Eclipse Console instead of the "Enable debug logging for this logger" message. The information should also be logged in {TOMCAT_HOME}\logs\catalina.yyyy-mm-dd.log.

What's the difference between SoftReference and WeakReference in Java?

Weak references are collected eagerly. If GC finds that an object is weakly reachable (reachable only through weak references), it'll clear the weak references to that object immediately. As such, they're good for keeping a reference to an object for which your program also keeps (strongly referenced) "associated information" somewere, like cached reflection information about a class, or a wrapper for an object, etc. Anything that makes no sense to keep after the object it is associated with is GC-ed. When the weak reference gets cleared, it gets enqueued in a reference queue that your code polls somewhere, and it discards the associated objects as well. That is, you keep extra information about an object, but that information is not needed once the object it refers to goes away. Actually, in certain situations you can even subclass WeakReference and keep the associated extra information about the object in the fields of the WeakReference subclass. Another typical use of WeakReference is in conjunction with Maps for keeping canonical instances.

SoftReferences on the other hand are good for caching external, recreatable resources as the GC typically delays clearing them. It is guaranteed though that all SoftReferences will get cleared before OutOfMemoryError is thrown, so they theoretically can't cause an OOME[*].

Typical use case example is keeping a parsed form of a contents from a file. You'd implement a system where you'd load a file, parse it, and keep a SoftReference to the root object of the parsed representation. Next time you need the file, you'll try to retrieve it through the SoftReference. If you can retrieve it, you spared yourself another load/parse, and if the GC cleared it in the meantime, you reload it. That way, you utilize free memory for performance optimization, but don't risk an OOME.

Now for the [*]. Keeping a SoftReference can't cause an OOME in itself. If on the other hand you mistakenly use SoftReference for a task a WeakReference is meant to be used (namely, you keep information associated with an Object somehow strongly referenced, and discard it when the Reference object gets cleared), you can run into OOME as your code that polls the ReferenceQueue and discards the associated objects might happen to not run in a timely fashion.

So, the decision depends on usage - if you're caching information that is expensive to construct, but nonetheless reconstructible from other data, use soft references - if you're keeping a reference to a canonical instance of some data, or you want to have a reference to an object without "owning" it (thus preventing it from being GC'd), use a weak reference.

Iterating through a Collection, avoiding ConcurrentModificationException when removing objects in a loop

I know this question assumes just a Collection, and not more specifically any List. But for those reading this question who are indeed working with a List reference, you can avoid ConcurrentModificationException with a while-loop (while modifying within it) instead if you want to avoid Iterator (either if you want to avoid it in general, or avoid it specifically to achieve a looping order different from start-to-end stopping at each element [which I believe is the only order Iterator itself can do]):

*Update: See comments below that clarify the analogous is also achievable with the traditional-for-loop.

If not for that difference, then the list reference could instead be a Collection [and therefore technically this Answer would then be a direct Answer, instead of a tangential Answer].

You might not be able to change npm registry using .bat file as Gntem pointed out. But I understand that you need the ability to automate changing registries. You can do so by having your .npmrc configs in separate files (say npmrc_jfrog & npmrc_default) and have your .bat files do the copying task.

For example (in Windows): Your default_registry.bat will have

xcopy /y npmrc_default .npmrc

and your jfrog_registry.bat will have

xcopy /y npmrc_jfrog .npmrc

Note: /y suppresses prompting to confirm that you want to overwrite an existing destination file.

This will make sure that all the config properties (registry, proxy, apiKeys, etc.) get copied over to .npmrc.

End of File (EOF) in C

EOF indicates "end of file". A newline (which is what happens when you press enter) isn't the end of a file, it's the end of a line, so a newline doesn't terminate this loop.

The code isn't wrong[*], it just doesn't do what you seem to expect. It reads to the end of the input, but you seem to want to read only to the end of a line.

The value of EOF is -1 because it has to be different from any return value from getchar that is an actual character. So getchar returns any character value as an unsigned char, converted to int, which will therefore be non-negative.

If you're typing at the terminal and you want to provoke an end-of-file, use CTRL-D (unix-style systems) or CTRL-Z (Windows). Then after all the input has been read, getchar() will return EOF, and hence getchar() != EOF will be false, and the loop will terminate.

[*] well, it has undefined behavior if the input is more than LONG_MAX characters due to integer overflow, but we can probably forgive that in a simple example.

So browsers were built to say, by default, 'Do not send information to a domain other than the domain being visited).

What is size_t in C?

size_t is an unsigned type. So, it cannot represent any negative values(<0). You use it when you are counting something, and are sure that it cannot be negative. For example, strlen() returns a size_t because the length of a string has to be at least 0.

In your example, if your loop index is going to be always greater than 0, it might make sense to use size_t, or any other unsigned data type.

When you use a size_t object, you have to make sure that in all the contexts it is used, including arithmetic, you want non-negative values. For example, let's say you have:

size_t s1 = strlen(str1);
size_t s2 = strlen(str2);

and you want to find the difference of the lengths of str2 and str1. You cannot do:

int diff = s2 - s1; /* bad */

This is because the value assigned to diff is always going to be a positive number, even when s2 < s1, because the calculation is done with unsigned types. In this case, depending upon what your use case is, you might be better off using int (or long long) for s1 and s2.

There are some functions in C/POSIX that could/should use size_t, but don't because of historical reasons. For example, the second parameter to fgets should ideally be size_t, but is int.

Pass Method as Parameter using C#

You need to use a delegate. In this case all your methods take a string parameter and return an int - this is most simply represented by the Func<string, int> delegate1. So your code can become correct with as simple a change as this:

Felt compelled to add an answer having seen far too many SOF answers with dated or inadequate answers to very common problem - a good library and some solid example usage for both parse and format operations.

Use org.apache.httpcomponents.httpclient library. The library contains this org.apache.http.client.utils.URLEncodedUtils class utility.

For example, it is easy to download this dependency from Maven:

So which comes first: loading and executing the code or using the code's functionality though not loaded?

onload as a window property works because it is subordinate to the object and not self-referential as in the document case, ie. it's the window's contents, via document, that determine the loaded question err situation.

Log4net is saving into your project folder. Something like: \SolutionFolder\ProjectFolder\bin\SolutionConfiguration\logs\log-file.txt.

Where:

  • SolutionFolder is where you save your solution
  • ProjectFolder is the folder where your project lives into the solution and
  • SolutionConfiguration is the folder that contais all the binaries of your project (the default is Debug or Release)

Difference between javacore, thread dump and heap dump in Websphere

A Thread dump is a dump of all threads's stack traces, i.e. as if each Thread suddenly threw an Exception and printStackTrace'ed that. This is so that you can see what each thread is doing at some specific point, and is for example very good to catch deadlocks.

Oracle client and networking components were not found

In my case this was because a file named ociw32.dll had been placed in c:\windows\system32. This is however only allowed to exist in c:\oracle\11.2.0.3\bin.

ReactJS - .JS vs .JSX

This may not be the most popular or efficient method, but I tend to forgo strong datatypes in SQLite since they are all essentially dumped in as strings anyway.

I've written a thin C# wrapper around the SQLite library before (when using SQLite with C#, of course) to handle insertions and extractions to and from SQLite as if I were dealing with DateTime objects.

Setting the first field to "" leaves a single copy of OFS at the start of $0. Assuming that OFS is only a single character (by default, it's a single space), we can remove it with substr($0, 2). Then we append the saved copy of $1.

javax.naming.NameNotFoundException

I am getting the error (...) javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: greetJndi not bound

This means that nothing is bound to the jndi name greetJndi, very likely because of a deployment problem given the incredibly low quality of this tutorial (check the server logs). I'll come back on this.

Is there any specific directory structure to deploy in JBoss?

The internal structure of the ejb-jar is supposed to be like this (using the poor naming conventions and the default package as in the mentioned link):

But as already mentioned, this tutorial is full of mistakes:

  • the jboss.xml is incorrect, it should contain a session element instead of entity (!!!)

What you could do is copy the code from tkinter.py into a file called mytkinter.py, then do this code:

To get the key IDs (8 bytes, 16 hex digits), this is the command which worked for me in GPG 1.4.16, 2.1.18 and 2.2.19:

To get some more information (in addition to the key ID):

gpg --list-packets <key.asc

To get even more information:

gpg --list-packets -vvv --debug 0x2 <key.asc

The command

gpg --dry-run --import <key.asc

also works in all 3 versions, but in GPG 1.4.16 it prints only a short (4 bytes, 8 hex digits) key ID, so it's less secure to identify keys.

Some commands in other answers (e.g. gpg --show-keys, gpg --with-fingerprint, gpg --import --import-options show-only) don't work in some of the 3 GPG versions above, thus they are not portable when targeting multiple versions of GPG.

Answer 1 : Yes it called upcasting but the way you do it is not modern way. Upcasting can be performed implicitly you don't need any conversion. So just writing Employee emp = mgr; is enough for upcasting.

Answer 2 : If you create object of Manager class we can say that manager is an employee. Because class Manager : Employee depicts Is-A relationship between Employee Class and Manager Class. So we can say that every manager is an employee.

But if we create object of Employee class we can not say that this employee is manager because class Employee is a class which is not inheriting any other class. So you can not directly downcast that Employee Class object to Manager Class object.

So answer is, if you want to downcast from Employee Class object to Manager Class object, first you must have object of Manager Class first then you can upcast it and then you can downcast it.

I ran into this problem since I've been doing React Native since the early days. Google has deprecated the commandline tools and insists on Android studio. The solution for me was to remove the commandline tools

Javascript array declaration: new Array(), new Array(3), ['a', 'b', 'c'] create arrays that behave differently

Arrays have numerical indexes. So,

a = new Array();
a['a1']='foo';
a['a2']='bar';

and

b = new Array(2);
b['b1']='foo';
b['b2']='bar';

are not adding elements to the array, but adding .a1 and .a2 properties to the a object (arrays are objects too). As further evidence, if you did this:

a = new Array();
a['a1']='foo';
a['a2']='bar';
console.log(a.length);   // outputs zero because there are no items in the array

Your third option:

c=['c1','c2','c3'];

is assigning the variable c an array with three elements. Those three elements can be accessed as: c[0], c[1] and c[2]. In other words, c[0] === 'c1' and c.length === 3.

Javascript does not use its array functionality for what other languages call associative arrays where you can use any type of key in the array. You can implement most of the functionality of an associative array by just using an object in javascript where each item is just a property like this.

a['a1']='foo';
a['a2']='bar';

It is generally a mistake to use an array for this purpose as it just confuses people reading your code and leads to false assumptions about how the code works.

SQL Server: Importing database from .mdf?

Open SQL Management Studio Express and log in to the server to which you want to attach the database. In the 'Object Explorer' window, right-click on the 'Databases' folder and select 'Attach...' The 'Attach Databases' window will open; inside that window click 'Add...' and then navigate to your .MDF file and click 'OK'. Click 'OK' once more to finish attaching the database and you are done.
