No, this is, as you say "rubbish code". If it works as should, it is because browsers try to "read the writer's mind" - in other words, they have algorithms to try to make sense of "rubbish code", guess at the probable intent and internally change it into something that actually makes sense.

In other words, your code only works by accident, and probably not in all browsers.

Eclipse artifact searching depends on repository's index file. It seems you did not download the index file.

Go to Window -> Prefrences -> Maven and check "Download repository index updates on start". Restart Eclipse and then look at the progress view. An index file should be downloading.

After downloading completely, artifact searching will be ready to use.

UPDATE You also need to rebuild your Maven repository index in 'maven repository view'.

In this view , open 'Global Repositories', right-click 'central', check 'Full Index Enable', and then, click 'Rebuild Index' in the same menu.

Backgroud

The blame for the issue can be split between our misconfiguration of container volumes, and a problem with docker leaking (failing to release) temporary data written to these volumes. We should be mapping (either to host folders or other persistent storage claims) all of out container's temporary / logs / scratch folders where our apps write frequently and/or heavily. Docker does not take responsibility for the cleanup of all automatically created so-called EmptyDirs located by default in /var/lib/docker/overlay2/*/diff/*. Contents of these "non-persistent" folders should be purged automatically by docker after container is stopped, but apparently are not (they may be even impossible to purge from the host side if the container is still running - and it can be running for months at a time).

Workaround

A workaround requires careful manual cleanup, and while already described elsewhere, you still may find some hints from my case study, which I tried to make as instructive and generalizable as possible.

So what happened is the culprit app (in my case clair-scanner) managed to write over a few months hundreds of gigs of data to the /diff/tmp subfolder of docker's overlay2

du -sch /var/lib/docker/overlay2/<long random folder name seen as bloated in df -haT>/diff/tmp

271G total

So as all those subfolders in /diff/tmp were pretty self-explanatory (all were of the form clair-scanner-* and had obsolete creation dates), I stopped the associated container (docker stop clair) and carefully removed these obsolete subfolders from diff/tmp, starting prudently with a single (oldest) one, and testing the impact on docker engine (which did require restart [systemctl restart docker] to reclaim disk space):

I reclaimed hundreds of gigs of disk space without the need to re-install docker or purge its entire folders. All running containers did have to be stopped at one point, because docker daemon restart was required to reclaim disk space, so make sure first your failover containers are running correctly on an/other node/s). I wish though that the docker prune command could cover the obsolete /diff/tmp (or even /diff/*) data as well (via yet another switch).

In the latest version of Angular (1.1.5), they have included a conditional directive called ngIf. It is different from ngShow and ngHide in that the elements aren't hidden, but not included in the DOM at all. They are very useful for components which are costly to create but aren't used:

Using volatile won't help when you need to increment - because the read and the write are separate instructions. Another thread could change the value after you've read but before you write back.

Personally I almost always just lock - it's easier to get right in a way which is obviously right than either volatility or Interlocked.Increment. As far as I'm concerned, lock-free multi-threading is for real threading experts, of which I'm not one. If Joe Duffy and his team build nice libraries which will parallelise things without as much locking as something I'd build, that's fabulous, and I'll use it in a heartbeat - but when I'm doing the threading myself, I try to keep it simple.

C++11 allows you to do:

(*) I understand that fact since there are more free integers to select (in particular for the first steps), but if somebody has the mathematical formula that describes this behaviour, I am interested by, don't hesitate.

Conclusion: The best "general" function seems to be a mix between this function and @Anne function that is more efficient with a little rate. This function should switch between the two ways when a certain quantity is needed and a rate (range/quantity) is reached. So the complexity/time of the test to know that, must be taken in account.

SignalR provides ConnectionId for each connection. To find which connection belongs to whom (the user), we need to create a mapping between the connection and the user. This depends on how you identify a user in your application.

In SignalR 2.0, this is done by using the inbuilt IPrincipal.Identity.Name, which is the logged in user identifier as set during the ASP.NET authentication.

casting of generics is not possible, but if you define the list in another way it is possible to store TestB in it:

You still have type checking to do when you are using the objects in the list.

I found applying the network and rebooting both the nodes did the trick for me.

You mentioned using json2.js to stringify your data, but the POSTed data appears to be URLEncoded JSON You may have already seen it, but this post about the invalid JSON primitive covers why the JSON is being URLEncoded.

I'd advise against passing a raw, manually-serialized JSON string into your method. ASP.NET is going to automatically JSON deserialize the request's POST data, so if you're manually serializing and sending a JSON string to ASP.NET, you'll actually end up having to JSON serialize your JSON serialized string.

I'd suggest something more along these lines:

The key to avoiding the invalid JSON primitive issue is to pass jQuery a JSON string for the data parameter, not a JavaScript object, so that jQuery doesn't attempt to URLEncode your data.

On the server-side, match your method's input parameters to the shape of the data you're passing in:

<strong> and <em> - unlike <b> and <i> - have clear purpose for web browsers for the blind.

A blind person doesn't browse the web visually, but by sound such as text readers. <strong> and <em>, in addition to encouraging something to be bold or italic, also convey loudness or stressing syllables respectively (OH MY! & Ooooooh Myyyyyyy!). Audio-only browsers are unpredictable when it comes to <b> and <i>... they may make them loud or stress them or they may not... you never can be sure unless you use <strong> and <em>.

The solution comes from the display property.

Basically you need to make the two divs act like table cells. So instead of using float:left, you'll have to use display:table-cell on both divs, and for the dynamic width div you need to set width:auto; also. The both divs should be placed into a 100% width container with the display:table property.

9.3 GET

The GET method means retrieve whatever information (in the form of an entity) is identified by the Request-URI. If the Request-URI refers to a data-producing process, it is the produced data which shall be returned as the entity in the response and not the source text of the process, unless that text happens to be the output of the process.

The semantics of the GET method change to a "conditional GET" if the request message includes an If-Modified-Since, If-Unmodified-Since, If-Match, If-None-Match, or If-Range header field. A conditional GET method requests that the entity be transferred only under the circumstances described by the conditional header field(s). The conditional GET method is intended to reduce unnecessary network usage by allowing cached entities to be refreshed without requiring multiple requests or transferring data already held by the client.

The semantics of the GET method change to a "partial GET" if the request message includes a Range header field. A partial GET requests that only part of the entity be transferred, as described in section 14.35. The partial GET method is intended to reduce unnecessary network usage by allowing partially-retrieved entities to be completed without transferring data already held by the client.

The response to a GET request is cacheable if and only if it meets the requirements for HTTP caching described in section 13.

9.5 POST

The POST method is used to request that the origin server accept the entity enclosed in the request as a new subordinate of the resource identified by the Request-URI in the Request-Line. POST is designed to allow a uniform method to cover the following functions:

  - Annotation of existing resources;
  - Posting a message to a bulletin board, newsgroup, mailing list,
    or similar group of articles;
  - Providing a block of data, such as the result of submitting a
    form, to a data-handling process;
  - Extending a database through an append operation.

The actual function performed by the POST method is determined by the server and is usually dependent on the Request-URI. The posted entity is subordinate to that URI in the same way that a file is subordinate to a directory containing it, a news article is subordinate to a newsgroup to which it is posted, or a record is subordinate to a database.

The action performed by the POST method might not result in a resource that can be identified by a URI. In this case, either 200 (OK) or 204 (No Content) is the appropriate response status, depending on whether or not the response includes an entity that describes the result.

If a resource has been created on the origin server, the response SHOULD be 201 (Created) and contain an entity which describes the status of the request and refers to the new resource, and a Location header (see section 14.30).

Responses to this method are not cacheable, unless the response includes appropriate Cache-Control or Expires header fields. However, the 303 (See Other) response can be used to direct the user agent to retrieve a cacheable resource.

POST requests MUST obey the message transmission requirements set out in section 8.2.

9.6 PUT

The PUT method requests that the enclosed entity be stored under the supplied Request-URI. If the Request-URI refers to an already existing resource, the enclosed entity SHOULD be considered as a modified version of the one residing on the origin server. If the Request-URI does not point to an existing resource, and that URI is capable of being defined as a new resource by the requesting user agent, the origin server can create the resource with that URI. If a new resource is created, the origin server MUST inform the user agent via the 201 (Created) response. If an existing resource is modified, either the 200 (OK) or 204 (No Content) response codes SHOULD be sent to indicate successful completion of the request. If the resource could not be created or modified with the Request-URI, an appropriate error response SHOULD be given that reflects the nature of the problem. The recipient of the entity MUST NOT ignore any Content-* (e.g. Content-Range) headers that it does not understand or implement and MUST return a 501 (Not Implemented) response in such cases.

If the request passes through a cache and the Request-URI identifies one or more currently cached entities, those entries SHOULD be treated as stale. Responses to this method are not cacheable.

The fundamental difference between the POST and PUT requests is reflected in the different meaning of the Request-URI. The URI in a POST request identifies the resource that will handle the enclosed entity. That resource might be a data-accepting process, a gateway to some other protocol, or a separate entity that accepts annotations. In contrast, the URI in a PUT request identifies the entity enclosed with the request -- the user agent knows what URI is intended and the server MUST NOT attempt to apply the request to some other resource. If the server desires that the request be applied to a different URI,

it MUST send a 301 (Moved Permanently) response; the user agent MAY then make its own decision regarding whether or not to redirect the request.

A single resource MAY be identified by many different URIs. For example, an article might have a URI for identifying "the current version" which is separate from the URI identifying each particular version. In this case, a PUT request on a general URI might result in several other URIs being defined by the origin server.

HTTP/1.1 does not define how a PUT method affects the state of an origin server.

PUT requests MUST obey the message transmission requirements set out in section 8.2.

Unless otherwise specified for a particular entity-header, the entity-headers in the PUT request SHOULD be applied to the resource created or modified by the PUT.

9.7 DELETE

The DELETE method requests that the origin server delete the resource identified by the Request-URI. This method MAY be overridden by human intervention (or other means) on the origin server. The client cannot be guaranteed that the operation has been carried out, even if the status code returned from the origin server indicates that the action has been completed successfully. However, the server SHOULD NOT indicate success unless, at the time the response is given, it intends to delete the resource or move it to an inaccessible location.

A successful response SHOULD be 200 (OK) if the response includes an entity describing the status, 202 (Accepted) if the action has not yet been enacted, or 204 (No Content) if the action has been enacted but the response does not include an entity.

To answer this not from an aesthetical but performance-oriented point of view, I've put all of the above suggestions through a benchmark. To be precise, I've considered the suggestions

and applied them to random vectors of various sizes (10^3, 10^4, 10^5, 10^6, and 10^7). Before we look at the numbers, I think it should be clear that anything that becomes noticeably slower with greater input size (i.e., anything that is not O(1)) is not an option. Here's the code that I used:

This immediately rules out anything involving rev or end since they're clearly not O(1) (and the resulting expressions are evaluated in a non-lazy fashion). tail and dplyr::last are not far from being O(1) but they're also considerably slower than mylast(x) and x[length(x)]. Since mylast(x) is slower than x[length(x)] and provides no benefits (rather, it's custom and does not handle an empty vector gracefully), I think the answer is clear: Please use x[length(x)].

First run your IDE or CMD as Administrator and run the following:

The standard mocking frameworks are creating proxy classes. This is the reason why they are technically limited to interfaces and virtual methods.

If you want to mock 'normal' methods as well, you need a tool that works with instrumentation instead of proxy generation. E.g. MS Moles and Typemock can do that. But the former has a horrible 'API', and the latter is commercial.

I would say that using:

The reason for the h1 margin popping out of the parent is that the parent does not have a padding.

If you add a padding to the parent element of the h1, the margin will be inside the parent.

Resetting all paddings and margins to 0 can cause a lot of side effects. Then it's better to remove margin-top for this specific headline.

Sorry if this is thread Necromancy, but this is still relevant today, especially with how much APIs are used!

An issue I had was: I didn't know that under the 'Key' column you need to put: 'Content-Type'; I thought this was a User Key for when it came back in the request, which it isn't.

So something as simple as that may help you, I think Postman could word that column better, because I didn't even have to read the Documentation when it came to using Fiddler; whereas I did with Postman.

The Linux Kernel has an excellent augmented red-black tree data structure that supports rank-based operations in O(log n) in linux/lib/rbtree.c.

A very crude Java port can also be found at http://code.google.com/p/refolding/source/browse/trunk/core/src/main/java/it/unibo/refolding/alg/RbTree.java, together with RbRoot.java and RbNode.java. The n'th element can be obtained by calling RbNode.nth(RbNode node, int n), passing in the root of the tree.

I will assume that the test is going to be used in a function, similar to user97370's answer. I don't like that answer because it pollutes the global namespace. One way to fix it is to use a class instead:

DTO is an abbreviation for Data Transfer Object, so it is used to transfer the data between classes and modules of your application.

• DTO should only contain private fields for your data, getters, setters, and constructors.
• DTO is not recommended to add business logic methods to such classes, but it is OK to add some util methods.

DAO is an abbreviation for Data Access Object, so it should encapsulate the logic for retrieving, saving and updating data in your data storage (a database, a file-system, whatever).

Here is an example of how the DAO and DTO interfaces would look like:

I know I'm late to the game... but the solution you're looking for might be the combination of the above, and using an interface to define your objects publicly accessible aspects.

Then, if all of your classes that would be generated this way implement that interface, you can just cast as the interface type and work with the resulting object.

The first part of your question is meaningless. There is no circumstance in which you don't know the type of a primitive variable at compile time.

Re the second part, the only circumstance that you don't already know whether a variable is an array is if it is an Object. In which case object.getClass().isArray() will tell you.

For people who find this via search engines, you do not need VBA. You can just:

1.) select the query or table with your mouse
2.) click export data from the ribbon
3.) click excel from the export subgroup
4.) follow the wizard to select the output file and location.

If you want to compare file in your project/directory with an external file (which is by the way the most common way I used to compare files) you can easily drag and drop the external file into the editor's tab and just use the command: "Compare Active File With..." on one of them selecting the other one in the newly popped up choice window. I have a single-page app in our company intranet where certain date fields need to be "blocked" under certain circumstances. Those date fields have a datepicker binding.

Making the fields read-only wasn't enough to block the fields, as datepicker still triggers when the field receives focus.

Disabling the field (or disabling datepicker) have side effects with serialize() or serializeArray().

One of the options was to unbind datepicker from those fields and making them "normal" fields. But one easiest solution is to make the field (or fields) read-only and to avoid datepicker from acting when receive focus.

Step 1 is always to first determine where the problem lies. Your title and most of your question seem to suggest that you're running into quite a low length limit on the length of a string in JavaScript / on browsers, an improbably low limit. You're not. Consider:

Repeatedly clicking the relevant button keeps making the string longer. With Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and IE, I've had no trouble with strings more than a million characters long:

So it's nothing to do with a length limit in JavaScript. You haven't show your code for sending the data to the server, but most likely you're using GET which means you're running into the length limit of a GET request, because GET parameters are put in the query string. Details here.

You need to switch to using POST instead. In a POST request, the data is in the body of the request rather than in the URL, and can be very, very large indeed.

In addition to the solution you accepted, you could also implement the special __lt__() ("less than") method on the class. The sort() method (and the sorted() function) will then be able to compare the objects, and thereby sort them. This works best when you will only ever sort them on this attribute, however.

Your problem is that, if the user clicks cancel, operationType is null and thus throws a NullPointerException. I would suggest that you move

if (operationType.equalsIgnoreCase("Q")) 

to the beginning of the group of if statements, and then change it to

if(operationType==null||operationType.equalsIgnoreCase("Q")). 

This will make the program exit just as if the user had selected the quit option when the cancel button is pushed.

Then, change all the rest of the ifs to else ifs. This way, once the program sees whether or not the input is null, it doesn't try to call anything else on operationType. This has the added benefit of making it more efficient - once the program sees that the input is one of the options, it won't bother checking it against the rest of them.

For arrays you can use: Array.FindIndex<T>:

I found information about .bashrc and .bash_profile here to sum it up:

.bash_profile is executed when you login. Stuff you put in there might be your PATH and other important environment variables.

.bashrc is used for non login shells. I'm not sure what that means. I know that RedHat executes it everytime you start another shell (su to this user or simply calling bash again) You might want to put aliases in there but again I am not sure what that means. I simply ignore it myself.

.profile is the equivalent of .bash_profile for the root. I think the name is changed to let other shells (csh, sh, tcsh) use it as well. (you don't need one as a user)

There is also .bash_logout wich executes at, yeah good guess...logout. You might want to stop deamons or even make a little housekeeping . You can also add "clear" there if you want to clear the screen when you log out.

Let's assume that you are supposed to write a program to control a nuclear power-plant. It is pretty obvious that even the most minor mistake could have catastrophic results, therefore your code has to be bug-free (assuming that the JVM is bug-free for the sake of the argument).

Java is not a verifiable language, which means: you cannot calculate that the result of your operation will be perfect. The main reason for this are pointers: they can point anywhere or nowhere, therefore they cannot be calculated to be of this exact value, at least not within a reasonable span of code. Given this problem, there is no way to prove that your code is correct at a whole. But what you can do is to prove that you at least find every bug when it happens.

This idea is based on the Design-by-Contract (DbC) paradigm: you first define (with mathematical precision) what your method is supposed to do, and then verify this by testing it during actual execution. Example:

While this is pretty obvious to work fine, most programmers will not see the hidden bug inside this one (hint: the Ariane V crashed because of a similar bug). Now DbC defines that you must always check the input and output of a function to verify that it worked correctly. Java can do this through assertions:

Should this function now ever fail, you will notice it. You will know that there is a problem in your code, you know where it is and you know what caused it (similar to Exceptions). And what is even more important: you stop executing right when it happens to prevent any further code to work with wrong values and potentially cause damage to whatever it controls.

Java Exceptions are a similar concept, but they fail to verify everything. If you want even more checks (at the cost of execution speed) you need to use assertions. Doing so will bloat your code, but you can in the end deliver a product at a surprisingly short development time (the earlier you fix a bug, the lower the cost). And in addition: if there is any bug inside your code, you will detect it. There is no way of a bug slipping-through and cause issues later.

This still is not a guarantee for bug-free code, but it is much closer to that, than usual programs.

To add on to others' answers, if you don't have access to that private key anymore it's fairly simple to get back up and running:

1. revoke your active certificate in the provisioning portal
2. create new developer certificate (keychain access/.../request for csr...etc.)
3. download and install a new certificate
4. create a new provisioning profile for existing app id (on provisioning portal)
5. download and install new provisioning profile and in the build, settings set the appropriate code signing identities

To do this without System.Web, without writing it yourself, and without additional NuGet packages:

I had this problem and none of the previous solutions helped me. My problem was actually due to an outdated version of powershell on my Windows 7 machine - once I updated to powershell 5 it started working.

To remove specific values: SharedPreferences.Editor.remove() followed by a commit()

To remove them all SharedPreferences.Editor.clear() followed by a commit()

If you don't care about the return value and you're using this from your application's main thread, consider using apply() instead.

As an alternative to the other answers, django-devserver outputs SQL to the console.

This is slightly a long procedure to cast , but the advantage is that all the required fields can be done.

It is to be noted that if only the required fields are assigned the data type, then the resultant dataframe will contain only those fields which are changed.

In the current version of select2 you just need to add the attribute data-placeholder="A NICE PLACEHOLDER". select2 will automatically assign the placeholder. Please note: adding an empty <option></option> inside the select is still mandatory.

Yes you can. In c++, class and struct are kind of similar. We can define not only structure inside a class, but also a class inside one. It is called inner class.

Typing cd will take you back to your home directory. Whereas typing cd .. will move you up only one directory (the direct parent of the current directory).

Flushing the output buffers:

printf("Buffered, will be flushed");
fflush(stdout); // Prints to screen or whatever your standard out is

Can be a very helpful technique. Why would you want to flush an output buffer? Usually when I do it, it's because the code is crashing and I'm trying to debug something. The standard buffer will not print everytime you call printf() it waits until it's full then dumps a bunch at once. So if you're trying to check if you're making it to a function call before a crash, it's helpful to printf something like "got here!", and sometimes the buffer hasn't been flushed before the crash happens and you can't tell how far you've really gotten.

Another time that it's helpful, is in multi-process or multi-thread code. Again, the buffer doesn't always flush on a call to a printf(), so if you want to know the true order of execution of multiple processes you should fflush the buffer after every print.

I make a habit to do it, it saves me a lot of headache in debugging. The only downside I can think of to doing so is that printf() is an expensive operation (which is why it doesn't by default flush the buffer).

As far as flushing the input buffer (stdin), you should not do that. Flushing stdin is undefined behavior according to the C11 standard §7.21.5.2 part 2:

If stream points to an output stream ... the fflush function causes any unwritten data for that stream ... to be written to the file; otherwise, the behavior is undefined.

On some systems, Linux being one as you can see in the man page for fflush(), there's a defined behavior but it's system dependent so your code will not be portable.

Now if you're worried about garbage "stuck" in the input buffer you can use fpurge() on that. See here for more on fflush() and fpurge()

Your syntax is for table valued function which return a resultset and can be queried like a table. For scalar function do

Assuming A is the repo you want to cherry-pick from, and B is the one you want to cherry-pick to, you can do this by adding </path/to/repo/A/>/.git/objects to </path/to/repo/B>/.git/objects/info/alternates. Create this alternates files if it does not exist.

This will make repo B access all git objects from repo A, and will make cherry-pick work for you.

For the sake of completeness a way with sed using regex and capture group:
